What's poppin', congregation? It's your girl, Scam Goddess, AKA Lacey Mosley, back with a comedy podcast all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we hate them, sometimes maybe we can't figure it out. Like, this episode is about to be a ride. Y'all already know I am very what? Yes, parasocial girlies, yes. I'm very excited, thrilled, elated. Today, we have a comedian, actor, writer, podcaster, television host, and recording artist on the show. I know you know him as the co-host of the amazing pop culture podcast, Los Culturistas with Bowen Yang. And they've been going strong since 2016, so they've been in the game.

• 3:10Laci Mosley?

But, okay, okay. Perhaps you have seen him in hits like Fire Island, or I Love That For You. And if you haven't seen those, dial in, okay? Fire Island, I know that's on Hulu. I was watching that shit and running it up, okay, honey? But, congregation, maybe, maybe, maybe, you heard about his Showtime musical comedy special? Have You Heard Of Christmas? Have you heard of Christmas? I think you need to get on Showtime and hear about Christmas.

• 3:37Speaker 04

  You do.

• 3:38Laci Mosley?

Congregation, please welcome this gem, this light, Matt Rogers.

• 3:44Speaker 04

  You.

• 3:45Laci Mosley?

  To the show.

• 3:46Speaker 04

I'm obsessed to be back. I'm so happy to be back. I think you're the coolest, and I have been Scam since we last spoke.

• 3:53Laci Mosley?

  Oh!

• 3:53Speaker 04

And, and, and I've been wanting to get it off my chest. So it's, it's like, I get to see you and I get to...

• 3:59Laci Mosley?

  A safe space.

• 4:00Speaker 04

  Expound.

• 4:01Laci Mosley?

Yes. And I was gonna ask, like, how are you? How you doing?

• 4:06Speaker 04

I'm doing really good. We filmed the Los Culturistas Culture Awards last night, which was our, like, truly started as a bit on the podcast. One, I think literally, there was one week where Bowen and I just, pop culture was dry that week. And we were like, all right, what the fuck are we gonna do? And we decided to just, like, get on and, like, pretend it was like a stupid Oscars and be like, the nominees for Best Breakfast are eggs. And like, we just, like, did that for an hour as a joke, never wanting to do a real awards. And then our fans were like, the readers were like, when are you gonna do the awards? And we're like, the awards are canceled, just kidding. And then Lincoln Center had this like Summer in the City concert series, like not even concerts, just like they had like a space in the, in the, in Lincoln Center where people could do shows.

• 4:50Speaker 04

So they offered us a spot. We did it. Now, four years later, it's an actual real thing on Peacock and it's coming out on Bravo, August 5th. It's gonna stream on Peacock the next day. So we fooled them into, we scammed them into letting us do the awards. It feels like that. And so last night we shot it and I cannot believe what they let us film and get away with. And I'm really excited for everyone to see it. Scammed them, got them.

• 5:15Laci Mosley?

It's so funny, cause Matt, I think sometimes, one of the things that I always have resonated with you, like just seeing you out in the wild or wherever we run into each other is that you're this like gorgeously talented human being who's beautiful and also like deeply, deeply talented. But you are regular as fuck. Like you, like, yeah, you do the Hollywood shit, but you're still like a regular human being. Like you're regular as fuck like me. Like we're very regular. So sometimes-

• 5:42Speaker 04

  Stay regular out there.

• 5:43Laci Mosley?

  Stay regular.

• 5:44Speaker 04

I'm telling you, in more ways than one.

• 5:47Laci Mosley?

Oh my God, I just spilled a water.

• 5:48Speaker 04

  We had a water spill.

• 5:49Laci Mosley?

Um, but don't worry about it. Uh, it didn't touch the computers. We're fine, we're fine. Now the team is running in here. God damn it.

• 5:56Speaker 04

No, but this is good. This is live. This is how you know that we, there is a team. You know what I mean? Like if you didn't think that this was an operation at home, there was a spill here and people jumped into action.

• 6:07Laci Mosley?

I wanted to finish my thought, cause I was being flagrant. I started waving my hands around. We always like open the water bottles and anything that I'm gonna drink because there's misophonia. And the girlies who have misophonia, they're like, we don't wanna hear you swallow or chew. So I'm like, I can't swallow, chew, or breathe while we do this.

• 6:24Speaker 04

Well, we were talking about how podcasts have changed. Back in the day, in 2017, when Bo and I would do this, we'd just get on here and like if we hadn't eaten dinner, we would just eat dinner while we were recording. And people would be like, you're physically hurting me.

• 6:36Laci Mosley?

Literally. They were like, you are attacking my, my nervous system. And I was like, really? And they were like, yeah, you can't eat a chip, bitch. And I was like, are you serious? But like, back to the regular thing, like- You mentioning like Los Culturistas Awards and you and Bowen mentioning that on your show and laughing about it. I think sometimes that we share this thing where like we don't understand that there is a power that comes from us. There is like a genius and we don't lean into that because we're just frolicking and being like, hey, we having fun.

• 7:10Speaker 04

My thing is like, just have fun.

• 7:12Laci Mosley?

Absolutely was gonna be like, Los Culturistas, yeah, you absolutely do need an award show. Like, I'm learning so much about myself this year, especially after my birthday where I'm like, oh, I was that girl the whole time.

• 7:25Speaker 04

Yeah. You know what? It's all goes back to like, honestly, how you feel about yourself and how the people around you make you feel. And I feel like I'm so grateful to hear you say that. And I really think if that's at all true, it's because I have like really good friends.

• 7:45Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 7:45Speaker 04

And really good supportive people around me. And that's, I guess, you know, my thing to everyone is just clock how the people around you are making you feel. That is something that this year I've been learning. Like, you can't have people in your life around you that make you feel anxious, like you want to shrink yourself.

• 8:03Laci Mosley?

  Heavy, stressed out.

• 8:05Speaker 04

  It's not worth it.

• 8:06Laci Mosley?

Every time I leave, like hanging out with a friend now, I can always clock how I feel.

• 8:11Speaker 04

  Right.

• 8:12Laci Mosley?

And I always feel lighter. My friends always make me feel lighter. We hug at the end and we tell each other we love each other.

• 8:18Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 8:18Laci Mosley?

And then I'm like floating throughout the day with the energy that I've received.

• 8:22Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 8:23Laci Mosley?

And also like being like, you and Bowen have a great relationship where on Los Culturistas, you have each other. And then you bring on guests and you can have segments. I've been doing this podcast for almost six years and it's just been me by myself. And so each guest, it is so important to try to make sure that their energy is gonna match mine or like they can contribute.

• 8:47Speaker 04

It's hard to do it alone.

• 8:48Laci Mosley?

  It is.

• 8:49Speaker 04

  I honestly like, I.

• 8:51Laci Mosley?

It's a bit more efficient though, because then I don't have to work with anybody else's schedule.

• 8:55Speaker 04

And that's the thing too, is some, because like, sometimes I'm like, with Bowen and I, it's like when we book people, we both have to agree. And 98% of the time, it's like, it's a hard agree, we're both enthusiastic and excited, or we'll just be, get on by ourselves. But there is something about like, this being like, the person that's in front of you is someone that you have put there. And, but, I don't know, like, I kind of like sometimes having someone else to like, check me or bounce ideas off of, because I can be pretty self-assured and confident about what I'm doing, so much so that I get like, a little defensive when someone suggests something else.

• 9:30Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 9:30Speaker 04

So sometimes it's nice to have people that you really trust, be like, this is maybe not the thing. You know, like, and Bowen's so smart.

• 9:39Laci Mosley?

I have Justin Rich, my producer and my engineer, and they're like, I always look at them.

• 9:44Speaker 04

They're not just here to clean up spills.

• 9:44Laci Mosley?

No, no, no. I look at them and I'm like, do we like this? Is this, are we doing something?

• 9:49Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 9:50Laci Mosley?

And sometimes they're like, no, we did not like that. And I'm like, okay, okay.

• 9:53Speaker 04

No, but we were talking about that, like, like, we've been doing it for long enough now, like, literally the last time I was on the show was virtual, and it felt like we were just talking behind a mic. And now, now it's like, if you're doing a podcast, it kind of has to be a whole thing, like, look at this key art you have. Like, not this absolutely stunning photo of you, you know what I mean? Like, and, and it's a whole thing, we're on camera, podcast has become TV in a way. And they're cancelling Colbert.

• 10:18Laci Mosley?

I'm like, bitch, am I Oprah? Like, we gotta be Oprah now?

• 10:21Speaker 04

You never even tried. You were just trying to, you know.

• 10:23Laci Mosley?

Right, like, I'm Ricky Lake. That's for the girlies who are old enough to know who Ricky Lake is. I'm Ricky Lake.

• 10:30Speaker 04

You know what, that, for, for those who do know.

• 10:33Laci Mosley?

  I'm Maury.

• 10:33Speaker 04

  You're good people.

• 10:34Laci Mosley?

  You are not the scammer.

• 10:36Speaker 04

I honestly like something, like, you know what's funny is, it's like, okay, and I'm gonna be real, especially when your podcast becomes big enough where it becomes like, a worthy as a press stop for people.

• 10:46Laci Mosley?

  Yes, oh.

• 10:47Speaker 04

  And I, I always.

• 10:48Laci Mosley?

And I know you, we're locked in.

• 10:50Speaker 04

I always ask, like, when I see a name in front of me that's completely out of the ordinary, I always ask, do they know what this is?

• 10:58Laci Mosley?

Right, and do they have time? Because I- I've been on press junkets and they only got 26 minutes to do it. And I'm like, baby, it takes an hour. I gotta read stuff to you and you gotta participate. And my favorite thing is that the people, like, I learned how to like handpick and select. The people that I've had on this show doing, like during their press junkets, they always have been like afterwards, like this was the most fun I've had on this press junket.

• 11:21Speaker 04

Yeah, because they didn't know, they didn't know it was gonna be an actual conversation. They thought it was gonna be. So tell me about how you played Brenda in abused woman.

• 11:28Laci Mosley?

Oh my god, they gonna ask you the same six questions. And baby girl, every time I'm on a press junket, it's always like, what does it feel like to be black and have a job?

• 11:37Speaker 04

  Yeah, it's like, come on.

• 11:38Laci Mosley?

You black and you gay a little bit and you have a job? What does that feel like?

• 11:42Speaker 04

  Represent everyone in a soundbite.

• 11:44Laci Mosley?

At one point, I got to a point where I was like, okay, I've answered this question so many times. And I could tell the journalist, like the journalist was being a little lazy. And I, I apologize to my PR people. But I was like, yo, like, are you really asking me like what it's like to be black and have a job? Like, do you want me to tell you that I, I think about Harriet Tubman every time I sign a W2?

• 12:04Speaker 04

Yeah, what is, what is what you want out of this? Or are you just being lazy? Yeah, please. I mean, and also the thing is.

• 12:12Laci Mosley?

Like every time I, I sign my W2s, Marsha P. Johnson appears and she throws a brick in my house. Like, cuz I'm so gay and also so black. Like, what, what, what am I supposed to be saying to y'all?

• 12:25Speaker 04

It's just boring. I honestly think that's, but it's like when names come through. Like when, when Michelle Obama was first floated, I said, would they give us an, over an hour? Because that's lost culture. You know that back, and this is, I'm just gonna, I'm not even gonna get specific. I'm just gonna say during elections now, sometimes political names get floated to come on the podcast. And I'm like, it still has to be lost cultureistas.

• 12:53Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 12:53Speaker 04

Because my number one thing, and I'm sure your number one thing is like, I want it to be, because people are attracted to the authenticity of who you are and what you do. If you were to come on the mic and obviously be reading vetted questions.

• 13:08Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 13:08Speaker 04

To not this person, cuz they've never been pitched, but I'm just making, I'm making a name, Jill Biden.

• 13:13Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 13:13Speaker 04

They'd be like, what is this? Everyone listening would be like, what is this? So for me, it's like, I just have to make sure the person is gonna. Clown with us.

• 13:22Laci Mosley?

  Mm hmm.

• 13:23Speaker 04

Like, understand the assignments, which there's not that many. Come in with like, you know, don't be coming in saying, I don't want to do, I don't think so. You have to do the show, by the way. It's beyond time.

• 13:33Laci Mosley?

Uh, yes, and you know, I know Anna.

• 13:35Speaker 04

Let's go, of course. She's a podcasting legend, Anna Housni, and I'm a producer.

• 13:38Laci Mosley?

Anna Housni literally found me. That's the reason that I started podcasting.

• 13:43Speaker 04

  That's a talent.

• 13:43Laci Mosley?

Jack O'Brien sent her out into the streets. And she found me at UCB. She found me at UCB doing makeup ups in, in a kitchen area.

• 13:52Speaker 04

  Of course she did.

• 13:52Laci Mosley?

And she was like, come to Santa Monica and go down this dark alley.

• 13:55Speaker 04

She said, you need to, to get in on this podcasting thing.

• 13:59Laci Mosley?

Audition for the Daily Zeitgeist. And Miles Gray was a perfect fit for that. I'm an actor, so I couldn't do a show every single day at 11 a.m. It wasn't gonna work, but I would come in, like, if they had a baby, if they needed to go on vacation, I would be guest hosting. And like, I, I learned everything about podcasting from iHeart. And so last year, when they gave me best host at the iHeart Radio Award.

• 14:17Speaker 04

Which, by the way, I remember when I saw that, I was like, I think I even said on Instagram, I was like, this is a bomb ass choice. Like, you really are great.

• 14:25Laci Mosley?

  Thank you.

• 14:26Speaker 04

And that's the thing is like, I know, so another thing we share is like, primarily, I do want to act as well. Like, that is my number one. Like, that is why I started doing this all, you know what I mean? And I see that in you too, so that had to gag you to win best host in, like, podcasting. But just know, like, that was, that's just an extension of you being a talent, you know? And I feel like nowadays, it is so 360, where I think less about like, oh, if I do that, they're gonna consider me a host, or if I do that, they're gonna consider me a this.

• 14:56Laci Mosley?

  There's no box anymore.

• 14:58Speaker 04

Well, this is literally what I've been saying, is like, everything is collapsing.

• 15:01Laci Mosley?

  Mm hmm.

• 15:02Speaker 04

Because no one can tell you anymore, like, this is the kind of person that's gonna be good in this, that, the other, because let me tell you something. Kim Kardashian is about to be the biggest TV star in the world when this legal, when this Ryan Murphy legal show comes out.

• 15:17Laci Mosley?

  Legal show comes out?

• 15:18Speaker 04

And you know who else is on that? Sarah Paulson.

• 15:20Laci Mosley?

  Niecy Nash.

• 15:20Speaker 04

Niecy, fucking, um, the list goes on. I believe Glenn Close. All these people who are acclaimed, professional, trained actors are gonna be, who's number one on that call sheet? Kim K. So it does not matter. It does not matter. Get out there, get seen, get liked, get known.

• 15:40Laci Mosley?

I saw that first with Nene Leaks. Like, when she was on Real Housewives of Atlanta and then she had that short-lived show that was basically like the bootleg Modern Family.

• 15:49Speaker 04

  The other Ryan Murphy show.

• 15:50Laci Mosley?

Yeah, the other Ryan Murphy show. But she was on that and I was like, oh, she went from reality to scripted television, which is typically not something that happens in our industry. Like, back in the day, you wouldn't even do commercials anymore at a certain point. And now we got Sarah Jessica Parker selling in-app gaming shit.

• 16:05Speaker 04

Babe, the talk show hosts are singers. Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson are the ones hosting this. And by the way, the two best singers in the world are hosting daytime talk shows. And the other one is Drew Barrymore. So this is all not, nothing is necessarily what it was.

• 16:24Laci Mosley?

She's neffled down, but she also just has such a strong spirit. She's, she's always been a star.

• 16:29Speaker 04

  She's a star.

• 16:29Laci Mosley?

She's so funny, she's so engaging. I literally, like, I would watch her watch paint dry.

• 16:34Speaker 04

  100%.

• 16:35Laci Mosley?

I am so engaged in her whole vibe.

• 16:38Speaker 04

It's wild, right? Like, you, you, every, like, you watch that show and you're like, it's crazy that this person is, is, is a talk show host because there's, there's such an iconic actress. But here's the thing, it gets to a certain point where it's just like, she's on TV every day now. If she were just acting, how hard would it be, maybe, as an actress at all that's aging to get any parts at all, especially when your thing was being a romantic comedy star? And then, like, romantic comedies kind of go out. They're not making them.

• 17:08Laci Mosley?

She was like gorgeous girl who, like, has glasses and then you take the glasses off and you're like, oh, my gosh, she's so hot.

• 17:13Speaker 04

And she was the best at it.

• 17:14Laci Mosley?

It was like, take the glasses off, oh, so sexy.

• 17:16Speaker 04

I, when I did, I did that show once and I, I looked at her and I was like, you know, I actually got a, one of those moments, iconic moments where she gets up out of the chair and like comes over and gives you a hug mid-interview because I told her, I was like, you really were my favorite growing up. Like, the Cinderella that she did ever after.

• 17:33Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 17:34Speaker 04

  Period. Like, that.

• 17:35Laci Mosley?

  Never been kissed.

• 17:37Speaker 04

The Wedding Singer. The scene on The Wedding Singer when Adam Sandler comes on the plane at the end and sings that song to her and like, they have that moment. Not everyone just has it like that, where you can watch them on screen and they're receiving love.

• 17:51Laci Mosley?

And you're just so into it.

• 17:57Speaker 05

And Adam is my king, too. Like, I've done movies under his franchise. I love that man real bad.

• 19:33Speaker 04

He's one of the icons. So at SNL 50, which, again, like, I was actually hosting on the red carpet for that, and I said to my agents, I was like, is this something I should be doing? Because it's like a very public red carpet thing, but I do want to be acting.

• 19:48Laci Mosley?

Right, you're not trying to put yourself in a box.

• 19:49Speaker 04

And they were like, you know what? They were like, it's SNL 50. It's history. I am a SNL fan from the beginning, so I'm doing it. But literally, I saw Adam Sandler there, and he was one of the few people where I was like... I'm not going up to him. I was like, it's too much. He's too, I mean, for a little, like, any, anyone our age, I'm 35, I don't know how old you are exactly, but like, growing up, like, he was a comedy brand, dude.

• 20:15Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 20:16Speaker 04

Him, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, what else? I mean, like, you know, tha- that.

• 20:21Laci Mosley?

Like, I was so gagged, like, working with him. And also, like, he's such a sweet soul, like, there were people, like, when we were taking press photos, because I did this movie, oh god, what's the movie's name, on Netflix?

• 20:35Speaker 04

That's how you know you've been booked a lot.

• 20:37Laci Mosley?

  Oh shit.

• 20:37Speaker 04

When you forgot the movie's name on Netflix, because you go from job to job to job, everybody.

• 20:43Laci Mosley?

  Well.

• 20:43Speaker 04

Too booked. The IMDb credit list is too long.

• 20:46Laci Mosley?

Literally, Jess is looking right now, and like.

• 20:49Speaker 04

See, they don't just clean up spills.

• 20:51Laci Mosley?

No, they do, they do everything.

• 20:54Speaker 04

  There's a team.

• 20:56Laci Mosley?

IMDb, y'all. Netflix, Adam. The Outlaws? The Outlaws.

• 21:00Speaker 04

  Of course.

• 21:01Laci Mosley?

  So I did the.

• 21:03Speaker 04

Oh, of course. And you were great.

• 21:07Speaker 04

  Oh, the Outlaws.

• 21:08Laci Mosley?

I did the Outlaws with, like, Lil Rel and Adam, and then, like, a bunch of people.

• 21:12Speaker 04

I beat Lil Rel at Celebrity Jeopardy.

• 21:14Laci Mosley?

  Oh, as you.

• 21:15Speaker 04

And Paula Abdul. And when she spun the wheel, it almost took her with it. She was so small. I kicked her ass. Lil Rel could not figure out how to spin that wheel. I said, sir, you gotta spin it.

• 21:27Laci Mosley?

Not you beating them on logistics. I thought you was gonna tell me some questions you answered. You're like, no, they could not figure out the wheel. I greased it. They could not figure it out.

• 21:35Speaker 04

  It was rigged.

• 21:35Laci Mosley?

Like, you're just, like, beating them on logistics.

• 21:37Speaker 04

They couldn't get a good grip. They couldn't get a grip.

• 21:40Laci Mosley?

I thought you was gonna say you knew all the answers to one specific category. You're like, no, I knew the wheel.

• 21:44Speaker 04

That day, I was like, my brain was on. Because you know when you have a brain on days and brain off days?

• 21:49Laci Mosley?

Oh my god, a brain on day is my, like, woo, woo, woo.

• 21:52Speaker 04

You feel like Scarlett Johansson in that movie Lucy, where you could use 99% of your brain, she turns into a hard drive at the end.

• 21:58Laci Mosley?

She be doing that neck acting.

• 22:00Speaker 04

Don't think I don't, I don't see, there is, I came in here and there is, there was a white piece of paper with a list of people's names on it, and Scarlett Johansson was at the top. I was like, now, what are you getting, trying to get me to say about these people?

• 22:12Laci Mosley?

And speaking of which, wait, you did say you had a scam story you wanted to tell.

• 22:18Speaker 04

  I do.

• 22:18Laci Mosley?

So I'm gonna let you get that off your chest. Oh my god. We are 20 minutes in. I am so sorry congregation, because I know y'all getting mad and clap for y'all fans.

• 22:26Speaker 04

Oh, please. I think they're having fun.

• 22:27Laci Mosley?

Pick the opera and plate up and count the money, okay? Get the white gloves on and y'all, y'all keep the church service going. So now we're getting into the first segment of this podcast.

• 22:38Speaker 04

Oh, please. This is my whole bag.

• 22:39Laci Mosley?

  20 minutes in.

• 22:40Speaker 04

This is my last culture's an hour and 40 minutes. I kid you not. If you're interested in too much stuff, please check out our podcast.

• 22:49Laci Mosley?

Listen, because y'all are both the two, this is the last thing I'm gonna say on y'all. Like, y'all have the personalities.

• 22:53Speaker 04

  The last thing?

• 22:55Laci Mosley?

  No, it's not, but it's.

• 22:56Speaker 04

  Don't sign that in pen.

• 22:57Laci Mosley?

I'm lying, I'm lying. But, like, y'all have the personalities of the gays that I grew up with. That are like, these gays watch too much YouTube and they have deep lore knowledges of every single thing on the earth. I heard you on Last Cultureist describing like Disney lore, like real, real deep Disney lore.

• 23:16Speaker 04

Oh, no, it's deep, dark, villainous sorcery in here.

• 23:19Laci Mosley?

And I know, like, if you don't know, like, most of the fairy tales that you see and you read to your children today, which have your children stream the show in another room, okay, we getting them numbers up here.

• 23:28Speaker 04

Yeah, yeah, just put it on.

• 23:29Laci Mosley?

But, like, they all were actually scary stories where, like, people died or were like.

• 23:36Speaker 04

Oh, they neutered them. They defanged them. And I did, I went off because I said, we need way more violent deaths for villains in Disney films.

• 23:45Laci Mosley?

Yes, that's what I'm talking about.

• 23:46Speaker 04

Because now it's all like, the villain is themselves. The villain was their insecurity. The villain was the fact that they couldn't be truthful. It's like, please just give me a fucking, like, humpback witch with a pointy head talking like this with a crazy fucking song that's funny and stupid and queer coded. Die stupid. I basically, if you don't die stupid after you've done like, like, really malicious violent things. To me, it's not good enough. And people will be hitting me up like, why is this old gay, like, watching these Disney movies? What do you care? Anyway, they're for kids. I'm like. Can I tell you something? I barely cared to begin with.

• 24:24Laci Mosley?

And also like kids are, kids are humans, okay? And listen.

• 24:29Speaker 04

  Teach them.

• 24:30Laci Mosley?

I hate that we're in L.A. and there are advertisements on bus benches and, and, and billboards that say, "Take time to be a dad." I don't want to excuse dads abandoning their families.

• 24:41Speaker 04

  No.

• 24:42Laci Mosley?

But you know, I see things from every different angle.

• 24:45Speaker 04

You gotta walk everything through on this show.

• 24:47Laci Mosley?

And sometimes like, there was a tweet that was like, you know, like the dad left and maybe the baby had bad vibes. And I was like, sometimes I really feel as though

• 24:54Speaker 04

  Can I say?

• 24:55Laci Mosley?

The baby might have bad vibes, or the toddler might have bad vibes. I've met some children that I don't fuck with.

• 25:01Speaker 04

  Evil, born evil.

• 25:03Laci Mosley?

They gonna grow into adults that I don't fuck with either. And I'm like, I, I don't know what to tell you. The baby has bad vibes.

• 25:08Speaker 04

The baby had bad vibes and I had to walk away for self-care.

• 25:11Laci Mosley?

But I feel like with more Disney movies

• 25:13Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 25:13Laci Mosley?

had endings where the villain got their ass beat.

• 25:17Speaker 04

No, then people would not act as wrong as they do.

• 25:20Laci Mosley?

  Exactly.

• 25:21Speaker 04

  You know, I

• 25:21Laci Mosley?

Sometimes you need to get your ass whooped.

• 25:23Speaker 04

  Or at least

• 25:24Laci Mosley?

That's what's wrong with the French.

• 25:25Speaker 04

See someone get their ass whooped. You know what? I actually, I was just, just got back from France and the last time I had been there, they had been so nasty and mean. And so I was anticipating a little bit worse. I think they're being nicer now because they know that Americans are going through it.

• 25:41Laci Mosley?

  Fuck.

• 25:41Speaker 04

Like, we're going through it. And so we get there because we can't be in America anymore one second longer and all we want is a safe haven. So even the French, who are the biggest bitches, are like, okay.

• 25:54Laci Mosley?

Oh, so they being nicer now. That's good to know. Cause you know, I'm going back to Ireland. I was like thinking about stopping in France, but I was like, I hate France and still get up.

• 25:59Speaker 04

I just went to go see Cowboy Carter and it was a good experience. I was in Cannes.

• 26:03Laci Mosley?

So you were there when Miley was there.

• 26:05Speaker 04

  Okay, so I got Jay-Z. I got Jay-Z. I didn't get Miley.

• 26:09Laci Mosley?

  But still, like

• 26:10Speaker 04

  It was still a moment.

• 26:11Laci Mosley?

Now I'm learning, like wherever Beyonce starts the tour, that's the warm-up. So if she starts in the States, I'm gonna go to Europe. Me and my sister were like, okay, we'll go to Europe. But if she starts like in Europe, then she warming up and we gonna go in the States. So now we like, no.

• 26:23Speaker 04

Those stadiums are easier to get into too.

• 26:24Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 26:25Speaker 04

Like, cause I live in New York half the time and getting to MetLife Stadium.

• 26:29Laci Mosley?

  Oh, my God.

• 26:30Speaker 04

Rather die. I say it with a smile.

• 26:32Laci Mosley?

Babes, two trains and, and two cars.

• 26:34Speaker 04

  A boat, a ferry, a private, like

• 26:37Laci Mosley?

And walking, uh, at least a mile and a half to get the fuck out. Like a MetLife for Beyonce. Yeah.

• 26:42Speaker 04

I took my sister to the Eras Tour in Miami.

• 26:45Laci Mosley?

  Oh, babes.

• 26:46Speaker 04

It was, um, the Oregon Trail. It was, there was nothing more difficult I've ever done in my life. The hardest thing I've ever done in my life was walk to and from the Hard Rock Stadium era's tour and it rained.

• 27:01Laci Mosley?

  Oh my god.

• 27:02Speaker 04

It rained and we get there and Taylor gets on stage and she goes, "It's officially a rain show." I'm sitting there being like, "I want to be excited for the Taylor Rain Show, but I have to say, the Hard Rock Miami, it's not nominated at the Culture Awards, let's just say that."

• 27:18Laci Mosley?

Swifties on the prairie, that's crazy. And I love her stands, I'm so sorry, but her stands are like-

• 27:24Speaker 04

  I'm one of them.

• 27:24Laci Mosley?

They're geniuses and they literally could hack the mainframe. We've talked about it on this show before, like, "Don't get Taylor Swift fans activated, them bitches are smart as hell." Like, they are quick, they'll find out where your grandma's stay in five seconds. Like, they are the most brilliant stands, I love them so much and don't attack me, y'all, sassy, I said I love Tay-Tay, don't come after me, okay, because I'm scared of y'all.

• 27:43Speaker 04

  My friend is here.

• 27:44Laci Mosley?

And then the Barb, the Barb's really trying to murder you.

• 27:47Speaker 04

Oh, no, no, no, I don't, I don't mess with them anymore.

• 27:48Laci Mosley?

I don't speak on that lady because I do not want her people coming after me.

• 27:52Speaker 04

  Either way with her.

• 27:52Laci Mosley?

They will try to kill you.

• 27:53Speaker 04

Because if you say something positive, people are like, "Why the fuck are you talking about her?" And then if you say something negative, it's, "Don't you fucking talk about me." So I just stay out of it, which hurts, because back in the day, Nikki was one of the only ones for me.

• 28:06Laci Mosley?

  Uh, it's, it's honestly-

• 28:07Speaker 04

But I can't be involved in it anymore.

• 28:09Laci Mosley?

  -bummed me out so bad.

• 28:10Speaker 04

This is the stuff, I can't.

• 28:12Laci Mosley?

Like, oh, why is she doing that? And like, she's been doing crazy shit like that and like, Barb's, "Don't come after me, I'm not saying nothing else." Uh, I will say this though, because it's a fact, you know, she married a menace to society and yeah, he got them charges, like, he got, he is convicted and he gotta go door to door and tell everybody that he a predator, like, he had that on his plate.

• 28:33Speaker 04

  It's just a fact.

• 28:34Laci Mosley?

But also, he's also just a menace to society. I was driving up fucking Laurel Canyon and a green Rolls Royce almost ran me off the fucking road.

• 28:43Speaker 04

  You're kidding.

• 28:44Laci Mosley?

Because you know it's only like two, like, lanes.

• 28:46Speaker 04

  No, yeah, that's not safe.

• 28:47Laci Mosley?

It's very tight going up those hills and so you drive slower because you're trying to be careful. He whipped around a motherfucking corner coming down as fast as hell, almost ran me off the road and then I was looking, I was like, "Is that Kenneth Petty?"

• 28:58Speaker 04

  You're kidding.

• 28:59Laci Mosley?

Nicki Minaj's husband almost killed me, like, literally, he's a menace, we, we, we need to get rid of him.

• 29:04Speaker 04

Can I say the headline, the headline that that would have been, Kenneth Petty and you, like, in Laurel Canyon collision, that, Pop Crave-

• 29:15Speaker 04

Is quaking. Pop, at Pop Crave is, at Pop Base, all of it.

• 29:22Laci Mosley?

  No.

• 29:23Speaker 04

The way, the way they're like, wow, that was, that was, that was a couple thousand likes on Twitter that day.

• 29:30Laci Mosley?

They tried to kill your favorite bitch, okay?

• 29:36Laci Mosley?

Shout out to Miley, they tried to kill your favorite bitch, okay?

• 29:39Speaker 04

  Oh my god.

• 29:40Laci Mosley?

But, so that's why I have personal disagreements as well.

• 29:43Speaker 04

Yeah, well, he almost ran you off Laurel Canyon. That's not even, that's not even like you almost hit me. That's you almost drove me off a cliff.

• 29:50Laci Mosley?

  Of course.

• 29:51Speaker 04

That's I almost went, bush, bush.

• 29:54Laci Mosley?

  To my death, sisters.

• 29:56Speaker 04

That, that, that's I almost hit many homes on the way down. I freaked.

• 30:01Laci Mosley?

He was trying to introduce me to Jesus. And I was like, I'm not ready for this meet and greet, like.

• 30:07Speaker 04

He might not have been there to introduce you.

• 30:12Speaker 04

I have to say, you might be headed in different directions.

• 30:15Laci Mosley?

Oh, it's two stops on the elevator? Oh, you going down? Okay, we go right up first and then.

• 30:18Speaker 04

Remember when we were like, we're not gonna speak on this?

• 30:24Speaker 04

Whatever, what are we saying but truths?

• 30:29Speaker 00

• 32:02Speaker 04

  This was my scam, ready?

• 32:03Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 32:04Speaker 04

So I had gone through, I'm not getting into it. This was, I was also scammed romantically, but not gonna say that because don't want to deal with the mess. So I had gone through a heartbreak that was terrible. My friend, in order to cheer me up, takes me to a psychic in Williamsburg.

• 32:18Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 32:19Speaker 04

What is your read on whether these people are legit? Psychics in general, do you believe people have the gift or the ability?

• 32:25Laci Mosley?

I think some people do, they are touched by some universal things. And I don't think necessarily it's that they can predict the future, but there are just people who are very strong at reading other people.

• 32:35Speaker 04

  Sensory.

• 32:36Laci Mosley?

And so sensory is their strength and they can pull things out of you. Now, you know, you got your psychics that are like, call me now. And then I really, the girls, like, they be like, oh.

• 32:44Speaker 04

Like, let me write, write, write a message on a piece of paper, put this candle over it, light it, and then say this phrase six times.

• 32:50Laci Mosley?

I can see that one of your grandparents is dead. Yeah, bitch, I'm in my 30s.

• 32:54Speaker 04

  Yeah, they're gone.

• 32:55Laci Mosley?

That's a pretty safe bet that one of them's dead.

• 32:57Speaker 04

  They're actually gone.

• 32:57Laci Mosley?

Like, and if I didn't come in with the confidence of four living grandparents, you know somebody dead.

• 33:02Speaker 04

  Right.

• 33:02Laci Mosley?

Like, they can clock in, but.

• 33:04Speaker 04

I have not been clocked by lady time.

• 33:06Laci Mosley?

But sometimes, like, the sensory, and sometimes I just trust that the universe is speaking to me.

• 33:10Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 33:10Laci Mosley?

So if I hear something, I can filter it to where I take what I want and I leave what I don't.

• 33:15Speaker 04

This person, my friend, takes me to a psychic, who, by the way, not an appointment, just Googled psychics. This person had, I'm putting in air quotes, "good reviews." So we walk in, it's me, Bowen.

• 33:30Laci Mosley?

What a good review for a psychic.

• 33:31Speaker 04

I don't know, five stars, wow.

• 33:32Laci Mosley?

  She really saw the future.

• 33:33Speaker 04

  She ate that, like.

• 33:35Laci Mosley?

She said I was gonna get hit by a car and I definitely dodged it.

• 33:38Speaker 04

And as I walked into the middle of the street afterwards, I did. So basically, like, I go in there, it's me, Bowen, and our friend Patrick. This woman looks at me, she goes, "Who wants to go first?" But she points to me. And I'm like, "Okay, I guess I will." So I sit down. So I sit down. And she goes, "Do you want them in the room?" I go, "Yeah, they can be in the room." So they're sitting on the other side of the room. And she sits down and she goes, "You're not with the love of your life, why?" "It just, it just ended." And I go, "Huh." And I look to them and they're like, my friend's jaws drop. And she goes, "They have to leave." And I was like, by the way, it's February in New York. It's freezing outside. So I was like, "Are you guys okay?" And they were like, you know, I had gone through this really heartbreaking thing that came out of nowhere.

• 34:23Speaker 04

So they were like, "Yeah, well, you have this moment, I guess. Like, maybe something's working." So, they leave. And she's like, saying all of this stuff that is dead on. Now, I don't really know, like, what the specifics were of what she was saying at the time, but enough for me to be like keyed in. She goes, "You need to come back tomorrow." She was saying like, write names, write dates, write things like that. Feelings, it really getting me. She goes, "I need you to pay this much." She had like a board of prices, like, for like cleansing, it's this. For like, you know, this aura reading, it's this, whatever, like, all this like shit. And so the highest price she had was like $800. She goes, "We're here and I need you to come back tomorrow."

• 35:07Speaker 04

I was so heartbroken, I gave her that money and made an appointment for the next day. I leave, my friends are like, "What happened?" I'm like, "No, no, it was good, um, let's just do something else." I didn't tell them. The next day I go back, she looks at me when I show up. She shakes her head. She goes, it's really bad. I was praying all night. I need you to sit down. So we go to this back room.

• 35:27Laci Mosley?

  Mm.

• 35:27Speaker 04

Mind you, it's kind of like a little bit of a shack. Like, her kids are like running around scurrying, like, there was an errant cat. It was very that. She was wearing like a shirt that wasn't clean.

• 35:39Laci Mosley?

You know, that's when things are sketchy.

• 35:41Speaker 04

  She was giving the vibe.

• 35:42Laci Mosley?

  Why your cat not inside?

• 35:44Speaker 04

She was giving the vibe of it's always too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter. Like, this place was on sticks. But that also gave her an authenticity to me.

• 35:53Laci Mosley?

Cause it was like witchy a little bit. Cause like she had touched with the natures and whatnots.

• 35:57Speaker 04

Well, she kept reminding me. She goes, by the way, I don't do dark magic. I don't get involved. That's what she said. I don't get involved. It's not that she didn't have the ability.

• 36:06Laci Mosley?

So like, clearly you know how to do it. You was like, I just don't give a toe, but I do know.

• 36:10Speaker 04

  But by the way, this.

• 36:11Laci Mosley?

I could curse everybody you hate, but like, we don't gotta get into that, cause I don't really do that. I'm classy.

• 36:15Speaker 04

She goes, she's saying this, and by the way, I'm like a, like a theme park gay. I love an immersive experience. So I'm like, I'm like, let's go. So she goes to me, my boyfriend at the time had, my ex, had broken up with me probably about two and a half weeks prior. And we had not really spoken in like two weeks. And she goes, has he called you? And I said, no, he has not called me. And she goes, he will. And I kid you not, 45 seconds later, my phone was on the table. It rang. It was him.

• 36:47Laci Mosley?

  Hmm.

• 36:48Speaker 04

So I look at the phone and I look at her and I go, my eyes just open and she goes, pick it up. And she goes, but I'm telling you right now, it's the worst day of his life. She goes, he's not okay. Pick it up? Not okay.

• 37:02Laci Mosley?

  Ah.

• 37:02Speaker 04

And so we have this, this like, this like situation.

• 37:05Laci Mosley?

I don't know if this is a scam.

• 37:07Speaker 04

So, so this is what I'm telling you.

• 37:09Laci Mosley?

  Mad.

• 37:10Speaker 04

  But when I tell you.

• 37:11Laci Mosley?

  I'm locked in.

• 37:12Speaker 04

So I had, and I'm just gonna say it, like I had just gotten a big like brand deal. Like a big one, one where the one that paid like too much money to go to World Pride and work for Amex. And like it was just when I was getting to the point in my career where the stupid money starts to come in sometimes. And sometimes you do get these opportunities where it's just like.

• 37:38Laci Mosley?

  So you're like, okay.

• 37:38Speaker 04

And it's fast and it's appealing.

• 37:40Laci Mosley?

You want some Instagram stories? You gonna give me all this money? Okay.

• 37:42Speaker 04

  Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 37:43Laci Mosley?

  I'm not gonna say no.

• 37:44Speaker 04

So I had, I had, I had gotten done this weird thing had happened where this horrible thing had happened in my life. But suddenly the money was changing. So I have this like moment where I come into this income. I don't know how she worked this, but she said to me, and I'm embarrassed to say this, but I think it's, I think I should because this is real. And I need people to know this is how deep you can get.

• 38:10Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 38:12Speaker 04

It was a five figure number that she asked for. Cause she told me, she's like, you guys are supposed to be together. I need to do work on the both of you. It's gonna take me hours. Because this number had come in from Amex and World Pride, and that was like a fraction of that. I was so heartbroken and so vulnerable and so devastated.

• 38:35Laci Mosley?

She was praying on your knees.

• 38:36Speaker 04

That she literally was like, if you don't get, and she had just said the thing about the dark magic. And I'm telling you, the thing with the phone had happened.

• 38:45Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 38:46Speaker 04

But the thing is, when you are in a certain emotional position, this is what abusers do. You know what I mean? Like this is what people that like, that's why it was scary. So I have given her this sick deposit. So that she can, you know, do X, Y, Z cleansing, whatever on my spirit and my ex's spirit and also other people's spirits. I leave the, that psychic and I feel crazy and I actually called my friends that I went with the first day and I was like. Is there any way it's like a conspiracy? Are you guys, are people fucking with me? Like, what's going on? Like, my sense of reality had been shattered. And I called Bowen, actually, and Bowen was like,

• 39:30Speaker 04

"I don't want you talking to this woman anymore. I don't like it." I was like, "I, I, this really makes me nervous. You're not well emotionally. Like, I feel like this is not okay." And I went to my therapist and I was like, "Are these people real?" Like, I asked you earlier. And she goes, "I do believe that people have a gift." Like, that they, but, but here's the thing that she was like, she may be able to sense what is gonna happen, like, sense what has happened, but she cannot make things happen. So when she starts telling you that she's gonna do cleansing on you, or she's gonna do spirit work on you, et cetera, that's her manipulating you. Even if she has a talent, she can still use that to manipulate you.

• 40:12Speaker 04

So I cut the relationship off immediately because it was also clear that her end goal of like, if she did this work on us, we would get back together or whatever, was like, A, not happening, and B, not what I needed at all.

• 40:28Laci Mosley?

  Exactly.

• 40:29Speaker 04

So, I, like, that relationship needed to end and be disconnected. So, for, for me at the time, it took a second, but I was just like, "I, I, I had to end that relationship." And I'll never forget what she said to me last.

• 40:44Laci Mosley?

  What'd she say?

• 40:45Speaker 04

She goes, "It's actually good that, um, we stopped because I actually had another vision last night, and I don't think he was your soulmate. I think it's someone else." And I was like, "So you've been telling me this whole time that he was definitely my soulmate, and I had to give you this money, et cetera."

• 41:02Laci Mosley?

That's when she was trying to get you back on the hook. She was like, "Okay, you don't agree with this? Actually, I had a dream last, ooh, ooh, ooh. I had a little, ooh, hold on, I'm having a vision. She had a Raven-Simonier moment, where she just like looked off into the distance and was like, "Muh duh."

• 41:14Speaker 04

  So then-

• 41:14Laci Mosley?

  "Oh, I see somebody else."

• 41:15Speaker 04

Then she goes, "And also, I can't see you for the next week and a half anyway. I'm taking my children to Disney World." And that's when I realized I had paid for the trip.

• 41:26Laci Mosley?

  You definitely did.

• 41:28Speaker 04

I said, "At least the kids, who were scurrying around for the crumbs amongst the cat, get to go to Disney World. I hope they bought the Fastpass. Certainly, they had enough money to." Like, I hope that she knew how to work the app. You know what I'm saying? Like, because I was like, at least that. But now that's, it's been like-

• 41:47Laci Mosley?

I feel like she probably manifested her way through the lives with her kids.

• 41:50Speaker 04

  A hundred.

• 41:51Laci Mosley?

She was like, "A vision told me that I was supposed to be in front. Can I get in front of you with my family?"

• 41:56Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 41:56Laci Mosley?

And then they just let it happen. It's been like- She manifested it.

• 41:59Speaker 04

Two and a half years since then, and part of me, like a little part of me, wants to walk back in there and, one, see if she remembers me. Or, two, see if when I sit down, like, she had, she does like some other bullshit. So that I can like look her in the eyes and be like, "I'm sure I can get my money back from you, but like, I want you to know-

• 42:22Laci Mosley?

  That I know.

• 42:23Speaker 04

That I know you're bullshit, you're a scam artist." Because that was garbage. And let me tell you something, she just knew. I don't know if it was, I don't know how she knew.

• 42:34Laci Mosley?

She clocked it. Like, listen, she was adding up everything you had on-

• 42:38Speaker 04

Maybe I was dressing as like new money as fuck.

• 42:41Laci Mosley?

Like, you don't have no pores, like, you got a face routine. We know, we know you got some money for some products, okay? We know you're using some retinols and some-

• 42:49Speaker 04

She was like, "He just walked in here with Bowen Yang from Saturday Night Live. Maybe he's also got some coin." And the fact was, I had new coin.

• 42:58Laci Mosley?

  Mmm.

• 42:59Speaker 04

Because, like, it was the kind of thing where it was like, "Oh yeah, you just suddenly have this amount of money so you feel you can throw it around." And I feel that, I, I think it's one of the top three dumbest decisions I've ever made in my life. But I don't rake myself over the coals for it that much.

• 43:17Laci Mosley?

  You shouldn't.

• 43:17Speaker 04

And again, I said to my therapist, I was like, "I want to admit to you how much it was." I said this, and she goes, "Matt, I have to tell you, I have had people completely ruin their lives to psychics. Give them over a hundred thousand dollars, fifty, sixty, seventy K." Because these people are convinced that their problems are gonna be solved by these people. And when all you really want is to have your problem solved and your heart to be not broken-

• 43:45Laci Mosley?

Exactly. We all have needs as human beings.

• 43:49Speaker 04

  If you could.

• 43:50Laci Mosley?

If you thought that it was gonna improve your life. And I have a frog in my throat, because I'm gonna say something that I've never said on this podcast. But I also got scammed buying Beyonce Renaissance tickets.

• 44:01Speaker 04

  Stop.

• 44:02Laci Mosley?

Um, the first time we bought them at Midlife and like my friend had the like passcode and stuff and we thought that they were purchased. And then we got like, we had our hair, our makeup done, everything, like all four of us show up to Midlife. And she's like, pull up the tickets on Ticketmaster. And I was like, they're on your Ticketmaster. And she was like, no, they're on yours. And we realized that the tickets never went through. So we ended up having to buy tickets at the theater, like right when the concert was happening. And we ended up getting a great deal and better seats. So it was like, okay, cool. It worked out. And then I wanted to go in L.A. So I was on a flight on the plane. It was the night of the concert. So my friends already had like a party bus and everything. They already had their tickets. And I was on this flight and I was like, I'll buy two tickets.

• 44:45Laci Mosley?

And I wanted to do Club Renaissance because this time it's me by myself. I'm standing. Like, I want to be right next to the stage.

• 44:49Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 44:50Laci Mosley?

And I thought that, and this is a ridiculous price for two Beyonce tickets, but resellers, y'all. And I was like, well, fuck it. Like, I really want to go. Like, this is something I want to do. Like, I work real, I work really hard. Like, fuck it, I'm gonna do it.

• 45:03Speaker 04

It was something you were doing for you.

• 45:05Laci Mosley?

So I purchased it. Like, Ticketmaster, they wouldn't let me purchase it. That's why I'm literally like, I will be at the court hearing for the senate hearing for Ticketmaster. Because y'all are fucking scamming as fuck. Like, you're shady as fuck.

• 45:18Speaker 04

  It's tough.

• 45:18Laci Mosley?

Ticketmaster wouldn't let me buy the tickets. The same row, same seat, everything. Or like the, the same like, you know, Club Renaissance like area. And so then I went on something called like tickets dot com or something. But I researched it first on the plane and it was legitimate. And then I clicked for the two tickets and it was more than, on Ticketmaster, I think it was probably like eight thousand. On, on this website, and they wouldn't sell it to me on Ticketmaster. I kept trying to buy it. And so then on this website, it was more, but it was the same seats. So I was like, okay.

• 45:51Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 45:52Laci Mosley?

So then I purchased it. Mind you, I'm in the air.

• 45:56Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 45:57Laci Mosley?

  I am on wifi, right?

• 46:00Laci Mosley?

The price that website was showing me was for one ticket.

• 46:06Speaker 04

  That is heartbreaking.

• 46:08Laci Mosley?

I could not get out of it. I reached out to the company. I'm in the air, so I can't make phone calls. I reached out to the company. I sent a bunch of emails and I was like, I'm, I don't even have the tickets yet. Like, like what's going on? Like, like just like refund my money. Like quit, quit, quit, abort, abort, abort. No, they would not. Like they got me. They got me. They grifted me and they knew they had me and they were not gonna let go. And so I did go to the concert. I had a great time, but it was like, I don't know what the fuck else I'm supposed to do. Like it was devastating. It's probably the biggest scam shame I have in my life. And I've never said it publicly until this episode, but yeah.

• 46:51Speaker 04

That is, here's the thing is it's like, it's, that is a mixture of things.

• 46:55Laci Mosley?

  Tickets came through Ticketmaster.

• 46:56Speaker 04

  I know.

• 46:56Laci Mosley?

So when I was looking for the tickets from tickets dot sale or whatever the fuck, they weren't coming through. And then there was a Ticketmaster email and I was like really trying to cancel it because I was like, oh, maybe I can actually get the tickets through Ticketmaster like I planned. It was a Ticketmaster sending me the tickets from the bootleg website. And they wouldn't let me buy those same exact tickets for a cheaper price on their website. But then they got some bootleg website that ran it up on me. And also I've never been on a ticket website where if you say you're having two people, two guests and you're picking two seats. They show you the price for one seat?

• 47:28Speaker 04

It's, you know what? It's designed to be difficult to understand. It's, it's designed to be difficult to understand because they, they are not in the business of you saving money. They're in the business of making money.

• 47:41Laci Mosley?

  But that's egregious.

• 47:43Speaker 04

  100%.

• 47:43Laci Mosley?

It's like a down payment on a house.

• 47:46Speaker 04

No, we need a true referendum on the tickets of it all. The ticketing websites, when I see, because I go on tour every Christmas. And you know, the venues, it's, that's another thing is people don't know is certain venues. You can't just sell your own tickets to. Like you have to go through these things. Like certain venues are, you know, certain companies book those venues. Like that's just the way it is. And the way it is, it's like they can like charge for like a premium seat, which is basically based on the resale value. So they look on the StubHub's of it all and the, you know, whatevers. And they say, what are these tickets going for in resale? Okay. So the premium seat will be that price.

• 48:31Speaker 04

And suddenly. You're gonna see Matt Rogers Have You Heard A Christmas? For what? Nine hundred dollars in the third row? I don't think so. And I don't like to say this outside of my own podcast, but honey, like, I, I feel like it is, I, I know what I give on stage and it's not that. I'll call my agent and be like, I don't feel right about that price. And it's just like, well, someone will pay for it.

• 48:59Laci Mosley?

I mean, I feel right about that price because I know what you are and what you give.

• 49:03Speaker 04

  Yeah, but, no.

• 49:04Laci Mosley?

But like, this is also them.

• 49:06Speaker 04

Not a Celine Dion in Vegas price.

• 49:08Laci Mosley?

They're cannibalizing too, because it's like you set the price at a normal affordable rate for the crowd that you wanted. And then these people are using credit cards to buy up all of these seats and then resell them at exorbitant prices. They got lucky with me. Like, that's crazy. I, I talked to my publicist and I was like, she was like, don't ever tell anybody this. So, I don't, I don't know, maybe it'll air, maybe it won't, I'll, I'll think about it. But, like, the resellers, the way that we can scam them back is, listen, if you don't care about the beginning of a concert happening, you could be outside of the stadium with your, with your drip on, wait till you start hearing people sing, them tickets gonna drop. Like, everything that they bought, they're gonna-

• 49:50Speaker 04

I saw Madonna for sixty-six bucks.

• 49:51Laci Mosley?

Yeah, they're gonna have to offload it. So, you gotta, we gotta start fucking them over. Like, we can't let them keep reselling like this and making exorbitant money off of something that is like, you're a middleman. Like, I fucking hate middlemen. They're the biggest scammers in the world.

• 50:03Speaker 04

  Absolutely.

• 50:04Laci Mosley?

Who said we needed you, middleman?

• 50:06Speaker 04

The, the thing is, like, you just wait till the day of, because I'm telling you-

• 50:11Laci Mosley?

Not, but not even day of, like, listen, that's, I still got scammed day of.

• 50:13Speaker 04

  Hours before.

• 50:14Laci Mosley?

No, not even hours before. It's gotta be when the motherfuckers come out on stage and you see some smoke coming down and they like, do, do, do, cheer. And you start hearing somebody hollering. That's when you buy the ticket. And then, and then you go inside, you done heard them hollering, you, okay, you missed what? The first two songs? You'll be, ah, you know the songs. But like, anytime before that-

• 50:33Speaker 04

It's funny when you're out there and you're like, I, so my sister and I, again, because it took, because we had, it was a long, hard journey into the night to get into Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, we rolled up and Gracie- Abrams was like towards the tail end of her set, which I was upset about because I wanted to see her. And so we were going in and she's like, she's like, you know, probably a three songs out. And girls were on the outside, like, sitting on the sidewalk and then looking at their phones and screaming in joy. Because like, something had become available and then they ran into the Eras tour. But what I'm saying is like, you can wait and then watch when there's like a $14 ticket for all this stuff.

• 51:12Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 51:12Speaker 04

Don't get so crazed that you make the mistake that like you made. Or like, you know, that like people make all the time where it's just like, you feel like you need to pay these egregious prices. And the fact that it's even a kind of like atmosphere where it's even close to that price is a problem.

• 51:32Laci Mosley?

  It's a huge problem.

• 51:34Speaker 04

  Massive.

• 51:35Laci Mosley?

Like, I literally want to be at the senate hearing because Ticketmaster is absolutely scamming. They're using these other websites. Like, I could have bought that ticket more affordably on Ticketmaster, but they wouldn't allow me to like buy the tickets. And then when I went to a second party site, I was allowed to buy the tickets for a much higher price and they still came from Ticketmaster. So it's like, I know you're doing backdoor willing and dealing and this shit is egregious and you're scamming. And like, that isn't how these things should be. Like, people should be able to enjoy a concert, enjoy an artist on tour, and not have to pay egregious prices because you want to be a weird ass middleman with a credit card. So I'm all about like, look, if you can't afford the ticket prices after they come out and you don't get the pre-sale, baby, just wait until you hear some drums, wait until you see some lights and some smoke.

• 52:18Laci Mosley?

And then all them people gonna have to lower their prices so they can at least get some of the money back from the egregious purchases they're making on credit. So let's move into historic hoodwinks. Wow. We're so deep in.

• 52:31Speaker 04

  Deep.

• 52:32Laci Mosley?

  Oh my goodness.

• 52:33Speaker 04

  We know.

• 52:33Laci Mosley?

Sorry, this is what happens. When the vibes come, we're gonna ride the wave. We're gonna ride the vibes. So historic hoodwinkings, this is where I will regale Matt with a famous con caper, maybe group of criminals, I don't know, we'll get his opinions all throughout. Maybe we love them, maybe we hate them, we don't know yet. And as the host and award giver of Los Culturistas, we know he's a very experienced judge, honey. So hopefully he can help us. And also y'all, like, when this episode is posted, y'all get on the Instagram and tell us how you feel, because I don't know how I'm gonna feel about this. So everybody weigh in and we'll all just try to judge together. So, we talked about fandoms that we're terrified of. Um, here's another one.

• 53:17Laci Mosley?

Uh, Mr. Beast, huh? Uh, very scared of your fans, Mr. Beast. But we gotta, we gotta bring you up because some things have been happening. So, Mr. Beast is like, he, he does like charity, but he's also kinda like a jigsaw from Saw kinda character. He's like, I'll lock you in a grocery store and then see if you can stay there for a year.

• 53:39Speaker 04

In a situation and suddenly there'll be a message? Like, what is it? Do people elect into this? Like, what is the vibe?

• 53:45Laci Mosley?

Well, he does like casting calls for those types of things. He just had the Mr. Beast Games that I think was on Amazon, and it performed really well. Um, I know some people who were involved in it and, honey, food, water, sleep, and what time of day it is, and what the calendar is giving, mm-hmm, they weren't getting that. It's a little messy, it was a lot of people. So, I'm sure like to expand that quickly, there's always gonna be some snafus. So I'm not gonna hold him to task for all of that. But it was a little, hmm. So, the Mr. Beast experience left fans who paid a thousand dollars for tickets waiting in their Vegas hotel rooms for days, only to receive random unsold merch from his online store

• 54:28Laci Mosley?

and no other events or activities having to do with Mr. Beast. It's, it's the latest in the shady business deals associated with this vast YouTube empire that he has. And like, okay, we have a Mr. Beast experience, I gave you a thousand dollars and... You not here, they don't got no cardboard cutouts, they don't got no experiences. Like, what, what, what's going on?

• 54:52Speaker 04

I guess it looks like whenever you're selling anything, it just has to be, and it's, I guess my thing is, it's like, they gave the money, what were they buying? Like, if, if that was like, you're buying a Mr. Beast experience, then he can define that as being whatever it is he wants.

• 55:10Laci Mosley?

I feel like it was like name licensing, where it's like, something comes across your desk and they're like, "We want to slap your name on this," and you just say, "Okay," but you don't actually look into what is gonna give. And like, if you care about your fans and your brand, then like, we would obviously always look into anything that is gonna be associated with us, because it's like, it's not gonna walk if it's not what I want.

• 55:32Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 55:32Laci Mosley?

Like, even you looking into the ticket prices of your place, e- even though they're being resold, you're like, "This is not what I intended for my fans, like, we, we need to curtail this." Like, it's like, we are careful about that, but like, I think sometimes when you get to a certain place, like Mr. Beast is where, I think things are just flying across his desk, "I'm gonna give him grace on this one," and maybe he just was like, "Slap my name on it, okay," but he wasn't giving the experience. So YouTube turned 20 years old this year, and is now the biggest streaming platform in the world, with more viewership than Netflix or anywhere else you can watch video content. Isn't that wild?

• 56:07Speaker 04

  Yeah. Is that him?

• 56:08Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 56:08Speaker 04

  That's Mr. Beast?

• 56:09Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 56:10Speaker 04

  Oh, wow. A guy.

• 56:11Laci Mosley?

Like, Mr. Beast is like, you might have seen somebody like sexy walking down the street, and then you try to draw them from memory, and then that's...

• 56:19Speaker 04

  You think he's hot?

• 56:20Laci Mosley?

No, I think he's like, it's like you try to draw a hot person, but you get kinda a little off, a little bit.

• 56:28Laci Mosley?

  He's not ugly.

• 56:29Speaker 04

It's a drawing of a hot person, not a hot person.

• 56:31Laci Mosley?

Yeah, it's like the thought, it's like, I saw this man walking down the street, and, "Oh, okay, that don't quite look like him, but it's close."

• 56:37Speaker 04

You know what? Right time of day, right time of lighting, right type of alcohol in me?

• 56:42Laci Mosley?

  Ooh.

• 56:42Speaker 04

We can go with Mr. Beast.

• 56:43Laci Mosley?

You know, gin make it sing. So like, a, like, a gin.

• 56:46Speaker 04

My mom used to say that to me.

• 56:48Laci Mosley?

My mom too. A little gin, and maybe like a little moody, like, warm lighting. Mmm, maybe he could, especially with that beard, I love a redhead, so a little red beard might get me.

• 56:58Speaker 04

I do too. Do we have the same type?

• 57:00Laci Mosley?

Oh, my God, do we? This is from memory, we're drawing it. But like, in real life, he would be sessier, but like, you know, I, I see the spirit.

• 57:10Speaker 04

  I like his hair texture.

• 57:11Laci Mosley?

I do. He got some good product in there and it seems like he's getting good haircut.

• 57:15Speaker 04

Well, he's hip to the carpet. This is a carpet. I'm gonna guess this is, judging by the background, like the, you know, Frozen 2.

• 57:22Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 57:23Speaker 04

  Off Broadway.

• 57:23Laci Mosley?

Yeah. He be at the kids shit. I saw him get sprayed at the Kids' Choice Awards. I was there.

• 57:27Speaker 04

  Oh, did he?

• 57:28Laci Mosley?

Yeah. We, I definitely was like, can y'all put me to sleep where I'm away from the slime? Because like, I'm not getting slimed, bitch. Like, this hair, please be serious. Like, and I took me and Jaden, my little black girl on that show, and I was like, oh, we getting up. Because the slime got too close and we were like, you ain't gotta worry about me. You ain't gotta worry about me.

• 57:42Speaker 04

Holy shit. You know that one meme of Katy Perry getting slimed?

• 57:46Laci Mosley?

Yes. Okay, because the slime is aggressive. Like, I have friends who were on the show, getting, and they were gonna get slimed for their different shows, and they like leaned over like in between commercial breaks and were like, oh, Lacey, what's up? And we were talking. And I was like, are you about to get slimed? And they were like, yeah, they told us to plant our feet and bend our knees a little bit. Don't lock your knees. And then just like brace for the impact.

• 58:08Speaker 04

  Yeah, because it's a blast.

• 58:09Laci Mosley?

How aggressive is this? Oh, it's aggressive as fuck. I, my favorite moment was when they slimed. So like, you, some celebrities know they're gonna get slimed and they bring them out in like all-white designer stuff, but you know it's gonna get slimed. So to make the moment even poppier, because you're in all-white. And so Charlie Puth came out in all-white with Gabrielle Union.

• 58:27Speaker 04

  Oh, my gosh.

• 58:28Laci Mosley?

And so Gabrielle was like, oh, the winners are. And she's like, oh, Charlie, the envelope's over there. Like, go over there. And so he goes over there, and then they shoot the slime at Charlie. It's so aggressive that he falls to the ground. Charlie Puth is on the ground, like, can't get up. Like, in a pool of slime, and it can't get up. And then like the PAs come out for the commercial break, and there's like four PAs, and like two of them just walk up to Gabrielle Union, and they take both of her hands on each side and escort her off the stage. She was not slimed. And like, they were just like, our queen, we'll let you go. And they just left Charlie in the slime pool.

• 59:03Speaker 04

They can't be doing Gabrielle Union like that. No, they're not gonna slime Gabrielle Union onstage at the Kids' Choice Awards.

• 59:10Laci Mosley?

Can you help Charlie? He's in a pool of slime. And they were like, he good. Gabby, let's help you with your steps. She had no slime on her.

• 59:17Speaker 04

By the way, the Mad Libs of this. The Mad Libs of Charlie Puth and Gabrielle. Real Union at the Kids' Choice Awards getting slimed like, please, please stop. I beg you.

• 59:30Laci Mosley?

I was like, you know, this is reparations. Treat a black queen well. We love that. We love that. So, you know, YouTube's been around. It's 20 years old. So James, Jimmy Donaldson, AKA Mr. Beast, has the most subscribers of anyone on YouTube.

• 59:45Speaker 04

  Wow, how many?

• 59:46Laci Mosley?

With 386 million subscribers on his main channel.

• 59:52Speaker 04

Wild. And I didn't know about the person.

• 59:55Laci Mosley?

Yeah, cuz he's, I mean, he a little bit for the cheering.

• 59:58Speaker 04

Yeah, sure, sure, sure. Okay, so.

• 1:00:00Laci Mosley?

Oh, now he's at 414 million.

• 1:00:05Speaker 04

  414 million.

• 1:00:06Laci Mosley?

414 million subscribers. So it's gone up.

• 1:00:10Speaker 04

And so basically, his thing is like chaotic little experiences you can like immerse yourself in.

• 1:00:15Laci Mosley?

Like you're looking into the sun.

• 1:00:16Speaker 04

  Views counts are crazy.

• 1:00:19Laci Mosley?

People are clocked the fuck into Mr. Beast.

• 1:00:22Speaker 04

That one thing has 840, does that say 845 million views? Is that what that says?

• 1:00:30Laci Mosley?

  Ah, ooh.

• 1:00:33Speaker 04

  This is nuts.

• 1:00:34Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:35Speaker 04

It says 456,000 squid dollar squid game in real life. Okay, so honestly, I do get it cuz it is compelling cuz it is essentially, it's like reality TV that he's setting. And if he's got a following, whatever. Honestly, I respect the game of anyone that has that many subscribers.

• 1:00:54Laci Mosley?

Like I'm gagged. Like, I'm like, okay, you were hustling.

• 1:00:57Speaker 04

Even more gagged that I didn't know who he was at all. That just, but that's just like culture now.

• 1:01:01Laci Mosley?

And he's the first YouTube billionaire. He's earning $54 million a year, largely from ads and sponsored content.

• 1:01:09Speaker 04

See, I, also, by the way. He looks better in his YouTube.

• 1:01:14Laci Mosley?

No, now you see his followers and now he's starting to look more sexy. Your eyeballs mad, please be serious.

• 1:01:19Speaker 04

He does look better in those.

• 1:01:21Laci Mosley?

I know you and Bowen. Listen, I see lots of culture research. They be having Ariana Grande and all the celebrities on their show. You saw, you saw them follower count and you were like, wait, why don't I know him?

• 1:01:31Speaker 04

  Excuse me.

• 1:01:32Laci Mosley?

  Now he's attractive and sexy.

• 1:01:34Speaker 04

Can I say, having, having this many followers would terrify me. Like, being that level of known is not something I think would be enjoyable at all.

• 1:01:45Laci Mosley?

And he started out as a 14 year old in North Carolina.

• 1:01:49Speaker 04

Oh, so he's been in the game.

• 1:01:51Laci Mosley?

And he was posting gaming videos estimating how much money other YouTube gamers were making at two minutes. And doing like Shia LaBeouf memes. So that's how he started. He was on YouTube at 14. So like, he was young and like.

• 1:02:03Speaker 04

Which was, which was when? How old is he now?

• 1:02:05Laci Mosley?

He's 27. So yeah, it's give it 42, but okay, you 27, we'll, we'll let you have it.

• 1:02:14Laci Mosley?

So when Crohn's disease, which is a bowel inflammation that causes chronic diarrhea, derailed his plans of becoming a big time baseball player, he turned into an indoor kid. He became obsessed with cracking the YouTube recommendation algorithm.

• 1:02:29Speaker 04

When Crohn's disease derailed his dreams of being a big league baseball player. Can we just, the Mad Libs.

• 1:02:41Laci Mosley?

He put down the big league chew and he picked up the big league YouTube. Yes, and, and did it, and did it.

• 1:02:48Speaker 04

Not the big league chew. I'm gonna leave. I'm out of here. Not the big league chew.

• 1:02:55Laci Mosley?

He had to put it down. And he was like, listen, I'm still gonna be popping. So he went viral for the first time in 2017 with a nearly 24 hour long video of himself counting to 100,000.

• 1:03:07Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:03:07Laci Mosley?

  And look up there.

• 1:03:09Speaker 04

I want to definitively say I respect his game. Because if you are committing to sitting there and counting to a hundred thousand, that I respect a commitment to a bit.

• 1:03:17Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:03:18Speaker 04

  Always.

• 1:03:18Laci Mosley?

  And he was down, down.

• 1:03:20Speaker 04

  Clearly.

• 1:03:21Laci Mosley?

And so years of tweaking the reality formula, perfecting video thumbnails of himself, like making a what the fuck face, and optimizing video titles and links. It resulted in him becoming the David Blaine of YouTube. Spending fifty hours buried alive, fifty hours in solitary confinement. So he still does clickbait stunts.

• 1:03:43Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:03:43Laci Mosley?

And challenges, plus giveaways, like giving one subscriber their own island, as one does. Uh, Matt, we also wanted to bring you on the show to ask when are you gonna give away an island? Because we've seen that you-

• 1:03:54Speaker 04

  Y'all can take Long Island.

• 1:03:55Laci Mosley?

  Los Culturicas.

• 1:03:56Speaker 04

  You want it? Take it.

• 1:03:59Laci Mosley?

Los Culturicas is not giving away an island yet, and we just-

• 1:04:02Speaker 04

  Not yet.

• 1:04:02Laci Mosley?

Feel as though y'all should really-

• 1:04:03Speaker 04

It just kinda sounds like you got an island.

• 1:04:05Laci Mosley?

Y'all need to get on it.

• 1:04:05Speaker 04

My dad still pronounces it as Los Costa Rica's. And I'm like, well, that's wrong.

• 1:04:10Laci Mosley?

  Los Costa Rica's is crazy.

• 1:04:13Speaker 04

You were wrong on the first part.

• 1:04:15Laci Mosley?

He gave away a thousand cataract surgeries to blind people. He was rescuing child slaves in Africa.

• 1:04:23Speaker 04

  Wow.

• 1:04:24Laci Mosley?

But listen, he got on his hat, he really giving the vibes of, you know-

• 1:04:27Speaker 04

Can you scroll down? What are the comments like? Like, can we say?

• 1:04:32Laci Mosley?

"I am a doctor in Idaho, who volunteered on a medical mission with G-MAD last year. I was very impressed with the organization. It's well-run with leadership in the US, but also allows the local Ghanaians to run home and keep their beautiful culture while helping many children and families. The surgical center will allow many more people on the long waiting list to be helped. Thank you, Mr. Beast. I encourage medical and non-medical people to volunteer to support this blessed organization."

• 1:05:04Speaker 04

  All right.

• 1:05:04Laci Mosley?

  Wow.

• 1:05:05Speaker 04

Lots of, so, so the, so the big comments-

• 1:05:07Laci Mosley?

That, that's giving me press. Like, did somebody send that to you? They're like, everything was so good from start to finish and top to bottom, and everybody get involved.

• 1:05:15Speaker 04

Yeah, I never know what's real and what's not. But it seems like the positive comments here are getting a lot of likes. Again, I've never heard of this person and didn't know any of it. But like, if it's helping people, that's amazing. I just, I, I have no idea, and I don't know about the-

• 1:05:30Laci Mosley?

Well, you'll know after this, Matt.

• 1:05:32Speaker 04

Well, I've been neut- I just wanna say I've been neutral.

• 1:05:35Laci Mosley?

Yeah, you have been neutral. Honestly.

• 1:05:38Speaker 04

  I'm neutral and I don't, I don't know.

• 1:05:39Laci Mosley?

Go to the Scam Guys Instagram page and tell us if you think Mr. Beast is scamming or if he's just a victim of being too poppin'. He has the most followers on YouTube. Maybe he was just too poppin' and it's not his fault. We don't know. Most recently, the Mr. Beast Experience, which has been added to the list of scammy immersive experiences alongside the Willy Wonka Chocolate Experience.

• 1:06:00Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:06:00Laci Mosley?

In Scotland, the Taylor Swift Holiday House in New Orleans, I've covered both, and the Detroit Bridgerton Ball, which I've also covered.

• 1:06:07Speaker 04

So those are all unofficial things that people buy tickets to and they're not real?

• 1:06:11Laci Mosley?

So Willy Wonka, that was where, do you remember the sad Willy Wonka like girl with the green hair that they started like parading on red carpets and shit? You don't see her?

• 1:06:18Speaker 04

  No, no.

• 1:06:18Laci Mosley?

Oh, so they had a Willy Wonka experience. It was very bootlegged ghetto and it was like in somebody like garage and they really did not, like, they'll pull up some, some, some photos for you right now, but it was bootleg as fuck and people had paid so much money for this and brought their kids and like they had the saddest artists performing there and they looked like they regretted every decision they made in their life. That's her. That's her. They had her like at the Met Gala. They was like, we love you, like vibes.

• 1:06:43Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:06:44Laci Mosley?

But see, like, they paid a lot of money for this and then showed up and it was this, but they had had all their advertisements done through AI, so it looked like it was gonna be this huge immersive amazing experience.

• 1:06:53Speaker 04

  The world is scary.

• 1:06:54Laci Mosley?

It is. And then it was this. Yes. And the kids were crying. The kids were like trying to leave. And then there was, um, Taylor Swift Holiday House where this girl bought a bunch of hotel rooms and then was saying like, oh, if you have a Taylor Swift ticket, like I'll get you a hotel block and I have all these events planned. She had another plan and she was overcharging for the hotel rooms. Anyways, then, and then the last one, Detroit Bridgerton Ball was like, they were all dressed up, like imagine all these black people in there.

• 1:07:22Speaker 04

  Detroit Bridgerton Ball?

• 1:07:23Laci Mosley?

Right. I'm like, I, I don't know why you try to scam people in Detroit. They would beat your ass. Like, it's so cold in the D. How the fuck do we supposed to get peace?

• 1:07:30Speaker 04

It's so cold in the D.

• 1:07:33Laci Mosley?

How the fuck do we supposed to get peace? Like, I'm not playing with nobody from Detroit.

• 1:07:39Speaker 04

It's so cold in the D. Wow, I have forgotten about that.

• 1:07:45Laci Mosley?

I was like, no, why, why would you play with these people? That's, you put your life in danger. But so, you know, they tried to do a fake Bridgerton Ball and it was bootlegged too.

• 1:07:53Speaker 04

Did you just have that like back in the hippocampus? Was that just in your head? The, the secretaries in your brain could just find that file? So cold in the D? Like, wow. Took me-

• 1:08:04Speaker 04

  Really back.

• 1:08:05Laci Mosley?

I mean, I be deep in the lore.

• 1:08:08Laci Mosley?

So you know, like, these tickets didn't, they, yes, it's okay.

• 1:08:13Speaker 04

Unfortunately, it was a total bop.

• 1:08:15Laci Mosley?

  It was.

• 1:08:15Speaker 04

  It was a hook.

• 1:08:16Laci Mosley?

And they were talking about their pain. And they were really trying to tell us, like, there's too much gun violence and it's cold and we outside. We got no heat. And we were like, it was just like that song.

• 1:08:26Speaker 04

What would you do if the sun was at home?

• 1:08:28Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:08:29Speaker 04

  Like, literally that.

• 1:08:30Laci Mosley?

On the bathroom floor. Or that song that's like, she's homeless. She's homeless. La da dee, da da da. And we're all like, la da dee, da da da. And the song is about a homeless lady. And we're like, she's homeless, turn up. She's homeless, throw the ass.

• 1:08:44Speaker 04

  Not.

• 1:08:45Laci Mosley?

It's like, it's a cry for help. The song is a cry for help, but we're like, nah, nah, we go twerk.

• 1:08:49Speaker 04

Honestly, you put a beat under some devastating words, what you have is a gay anthem.

• 1:08:54Laci Mosley?

That's what you're. You put a beat under devastating words and you have a gay anthem. It's just facts.

• 1:09:02Speaker 04

It's like Robin dancing on my own. You know what I mean?

• 1:09:04Laci Mosley?

I can't dance it on my own.

• 1:09:07Speaker 04

  She's saying she's alone.

• 1:09:08Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:09:09Speaker 04

She's saying she's alone. We're screaming it in a concert together. What she's saying is she's an isolated person.

• 1:09:14Laci Mosley?

  And she's lonely.

• 1:09:15Speaker 04

  Yeah, she's heartbroken.

• 1:09:16Laci Mosley?

And she needs help. And we're like.

• 1:09:18Speaker 04

Someone has hurt her. She's gonna be vulnerable to psychics.

• 1:09:24Speaker 04

  Anyone giving her any attention.

• 1:09:26Laci Mosley?

Like, gay music is a beat and then like a 911 phone call.

• 1:09:29Speaker 04

  Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:09:30Laci Mosley?

Where we're all the operator who's like, yeah, can you talk slower?

• 1:09:36Laci Mosley?

What is your address? We're like so calm. And they're like, I'm being stabbed. We're like, who is stabbing you? Describe them. We have no such urgency. We're just like, oh, it's kind of a bop. They stabbing to a beat. Okay, like, no, no. So, ticket holders paid $1,000 for a three-night minimum stay over April 13th to the 15th at the Resorts World in Las Vegas.

• 1:10:01Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:10:01Laci Mosley?

During which they received the following. An exclusive Mr. Beast mystery bag of limited edition merch, onsite activations and immersive experiences, and exclusive menu items, also themed beverages, and one participant will receive a voucher redeemable for $10,000 in cash.

• 1:10:23Speaker 04

  Huh?

• 1:10:24Laci Mosley?

And we, we got a guy who looks like he got the voucher. Up here. Yeah, so he said like he did this whole deal with Resorts World. It was supposed to be like they inflated the price for this whole experience. There was no, like the shirts and the clothes that they gave them did not fit the average person. Like it was kind of kid sizes and so.

• 1:10:45Speaker 04

So are you saying it was giving, are you saying it was giving Fire Festival?

• 1:10:49Laci Mosley?

Yes, yes. At least he did that in the Bahamas and people had to leave the country, but.

• 1:10:56Speaker 04

  They could get home.

• 1:10:57Laci Mosley?

Yeah. But actually CrowdStrike happened too, like, like close to it. So April thirteenth to the fifteenth was Sunday to a Tuesday. The Resort World rooms on those days of the week usually cost ninety-nine dollars per night.

• 1:11:10Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:11:11Laci Mosley?

According to their booking website. Fans arrived at the hotel and were told to wait in their rooms for their mystery bags. Some of them waited for two days without leaving. Since many of Mr. Beast's like popular videos involve isolation or endurance. So they thought like, oh, is this a test? We just stay in the hotel room and hopefully they bring us the gift like. You got these people down bad. It makes sense that some attendees would interpret the wait for the mystery videos as some kind of like intentional challenge. But in the end, the bags just contained feastables, chocolates and Mr. Beast t-shirts and gear in random sizes. And no one got a ten thousand dollar voucher. So he just didn't make good on any of that and then he gave them random clothes.

• 1:11:54Speaker 04

And we're sure this came from him? It wasn't like someone saying it was him?

• 1:11:58Laci Mosley?

I mean, this is from his company, but I think he just didn't realize like how much more work needed to be done. Because I've heard things about Resorts World Las Vegas outside of this, of it being like kind of a bit of a scammy hotel. But like ninety-nine dollars per night was what was on the website. These Mr. Beast people were paying upwards of like two fifty a night to have this experience that had no experiences. And like he had like these random sizes for shirts and stuff. And I know people, like I talked to people who were at this experience. They said that they were told, and I looked at the website, they were told that they were gonna get merch that hadn't even debuted yet. It was gonna be like signature items. And stuff and it was literally all the leftovers that they hadn't sold in random sizes.

• 1:12:42Laci Mosley?

A lot of adults were there like, we can't even wear this. Like this is for a 12 year old. And I'm like, one, it's kind of down bad that you went to a Mr. Beast experience and you grown. But um also two, you did pay for it. They should give you what you asked for.

• 1:12:55Speaker 04

I mean, that's I it it it seems like all a mess to me, like in every regard.

• 1:13:00Laci Mosley?

We have a video of an attendee at Las that the Las Vegas events.

• 1:13:05Speaker 06

I really just want my Mr. Beast experience that I paid for.

• 1:13:09Speaker 07

Abigail Marquez is one of many disgruntled Mr. Beast fans demanding answers.

• 1:13:14Speaker 06

Should have been like mini games and meet and greets and photo ops. Uh special food and drink things and unfortunately we didn't get any of that.

• 1:13:22Speaker 07

Many coming from out of town like Teresa Meta who trekked from Arizona with her mother for the advertised immersive experience. But leaving disappointed with what they did receive.

• 1:13:33Speaker 06

I was told to wait in my room for two days waiting for a package to come. And so I legit spent two days in Vegas in a room.

• 1:13:41Laci Mosley?

Teresa put her hair in a ponytail. She's ready to fight.

• 1:13:44Speaker 06

That was a box of chocolates.

• 1:13:46Speaker 07

As for what else they received.

• 1:13:47Speaker 06

We were told we were gonna each get a mystery bag, but we only got one in the room. And it had kid shorts and extra extra small shirt and a hat and like a medium shirt. And you go to MrBeast.com to their merchandise right now. All this stuff is on clearance for nine dollars. We were told we were gonna get exclusive merchandise and obviously that's not the case.

• 1:14:06Speaker 04

Well, this yeah, but here's here's the thing. Once, once you show up somewhere and it feels not legit. And it like then all it wouldn't take me two days. Like, come on.

• 1:14:19Laci Mosley?

Okay, they thought they were part of the experience. They were like, maybe we need to stay locked in our hotel rooms. Like Mr. Beast would lock us up like Jigsaw from Saw.

• 1:14:26Speaker 04

Pick yourself. Choose yourself. I get that you think you're having the experience, but like what is the experience?

• 1:14:32Laci Mosley?

FOMO is real though. What if they left and then they were like, oh, Mr. Beast popped up and he started doing a jig and they weren't there for that? They would be like devastated.

• 1:14:40Speaker 04

And that would have been worth it to them? I mean, I guess. I mean, I guess if you if you love something.

• 1:14:45Laci Mosley?

I try to use my litmus test of Beyonce. Beyonce.

• 1:14:48Speaker 04

  Well, yeah.

• 1:14:48Laci Mosley?

And I know that I love Beyonce so much that if she was like, "Everybody go to the parking lot of this stadium and I'll be there in a little bit." I would go and I have my little tent. I just, but she said she gonna be here in a little bit. I don't know what a little bit is in black people's time. That could be five minutes or that could be five days. But I'mma go and have my little tent pitched up because I'm not gonna miss my queen. But she's like, "I am on my way." I'm like, "That's enough for me."

• 1:15:15Speaker 04

You're like, "Wow, Beyonce's talking a lot more directly to us than usual." She's gonna tell, she, she doesn't sound like her. I might want to check in with somebody.

• 1:15:24Laci Mosley?

Is this AI? Why is she doing this?

• 1:15:26Speaker 04

I feel bad for these people, but also like, to be honest, like, I think that they, I'm, I'm watching this and it feels like they need, they, maybe they could benefit from learning this lesson.

• 1:15:34Laci Mosley?

Yeah, but they're stans. I understand the stan community.

• 1:15:38Speaker 04

So are they no longer fans of his now? Like, are they, are they like just broke the camel's back?

• 1:15:42Laci Mosley?

And I think they're gonna just blame Resorts World for this. Um, that's why I'm like, I don't know if he's a scammer. There was a video posted by the Holiday Channel, Random Recess Shows Resort World Video CEO Alex Dins Dixon, Attempting to explain what went wrong on the final day with the aid of Free Randy's Donuts. So they brought donuts to the people that they stole from. And we're like, "Here's some donuts. We know you didn't get Mr. Beast or none of his experiences, but here's a donut. Put it in your mouth and be happy." And so, he said the hotel did what they had agreed to do. It's not their fault. Nothing else happened for three days. So they were like, "We said we were doing the experience, but the Mr. Beast side didn't deliver." So they tried to blame it on him.

• 1:16:23Speaker 04

  Something happened.

• 1:16:25Laci Mosley?

And so the event has now been scrubbed from the hotel's website.

• 1:16:28Speaker 04

  Well, yes.

• 1:16:29Laci Mosley?

And Resorts World is fully refunding guests. Okay, uh, you get a little for that. Refund the guests. It's the bare minimum. They can't get their life back. They can't get the time back, but at least.

• 1:16:41Speaker 04

I hope they at least like left to eat and stuff.

• 1:16:43Laci Mosley?

  Yeah, so.

• 1:16:44Speaker 04

Well, at least it was Resorts World. They can give rooms.

• 1:16:47Laci Mosley?

One attendee did win the $10,000 voucher, but as we discussed earlier, that voucher was not paid. So they won and I, I hope you had your Price is Right moment. I hope that glee was enough for you.

• 1:17:00Speaker 04

  So it was nothing.

• 1:17:01Laci Mosley?

Because you weren't gonna get the money.

• 1:17:02Speaker 04

Yeah, so it was just that you won.

• 1:17:03Laci Mosley?

But you got the feeling of the money. You got the feeling that you won.

• 1:17:06Speaker 04

  That's nothing. That's nothing.

• 1:17:08Laci Mosley?

Yeah, but isn't life all nothing?

• 1:17:10Speaker 04

No, it's something. Like, because at least with $10,000, you go on the vaca, you go on to like several vacations.

• 1:17:17Laci Mosley?

  That's true.

• 1:17:18Speaker 04

Not just one to Resorts World.

• 1:17:20Laci Mosley?

That's true. So Mr. Beast has yet to issue an official statement, but he did respond to several complaints on Twitter. It says X here, but I'mma call you what your mama named you. It's Twitter.

• 1:17:31Laci Mosley?

So he was blaming Resorts World for this issue. And in quotes, he says, "This definitely isn't the experience we hoped they would deliver," said Mr. Beast. "My team's already on it. I'd love to personally make it up to you and anyone else by inviting everybody affected to tour my actual studio." Later, he said, "Everyone will get their money back, and we called the people who purchased the experience and are flying them down to my studio. I'll make sure they're happy." So he, and then he put a little smiley face like, "Hey, y'all, don't be mad. It wasn't my fault, but I'mma make y'all happy again." I don't know, it's good business.

• 1:18:07Speaker 04

  So this happened in April?

• 1:18:08Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:18:09Speaker 04

  Okay.

• 1:18:10Laci Mosley?

It's kind of good business, though.

• 1:18:11Speaker 04

So what has happened since? Was it made up to them?

• 1:18:15Laci Mosley?

Well, the Monday after the failed experience, Mr. Beast posted a shirtless pic to show off his new jacked physique in a conveniently timed body transformation that worked well to change the media narrative on Mr. Beast for the week. So he was like, "Okay, it's time to post a nude." Listen, this is a great way to change the narrative. It's happened on this show before. We've had guests that like, there was a living guest, Caroline Calloway, who like got into a fight with Jamila Jamil and me online, and then eventually posted a nude, and that's how she changed the narrative. And I was like, "Well, I guess this is like..."

• 1:18:51Speaker 04

Honestly, sure. I'll put that one in my back pocket.

• 1:18:55Laci Mosley?

Right. You might have to put some cheek out, Matt. If you say something crazy, you might have to pull out. Just one cheek.

• 1:19:00Speaker 04

  Remember, I have an ass.

• 1:19:02Laci Mosley?

I feel like people would be gracious with you. You only need just one cheek, just like a little peek-a-boo.

• 1:19:06Speaker 04

Just one, they'll get it. Maybe they'll get both one of these days.

• 1:19:10Laci Mosley?

So then he also had Lunchly, which was moldy. In September of 2024, he had launched healthier Lunchable knockoffs called Lunchly. And he did that with Logan Paul and an English influencer, KSI. One month later, a number of consumers reported finding moldy cheese inside the packages before the expiration date. Look at that mold.

• 1:19:30Speaker 04

No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

• 1:19:31Laci Mosley?

Now, that's just blue cheese, right? Like... Cheese is all mold, so like, can I eat that still?

• 1:19:39Speaker 04

I don't think you want to eat that.

• 1:19:41Laci Mosley?

  What if I refrigerate it?

• 1:19:42Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:19:43Laci Mosley?

  Put some vinegar on it?

• 1:19:44Speaker 04

Nothing, nothing that color in nature.

• 1:19:46Laci Mosley?

  Okay, okay.

• 1:19:48Speaker 04

  I mean, right?

• 1:19:48Laci Mosley?

I mean, blue cheese does have that in the crumbles.

• 1:19:51Speaker 04

  I mean-

• 1:19:51Laci Mosley?

  That little blue.

• 1:19:52Speaker 04

Okay, so only blue cheese then, in nature? And that's not what that is?

• 1:19:56Laci Mosley?

Yeah, it wasn't intended to be blue cheese. It's just cheese that turned blue.

• 1:19:59Speaker 04

  Never.

• 1:20:00Laci Mosley?

So the Food and Drug Administration told TMZ as of October 25, or 25th, rather, the agency has received more than 10 complaints about Lunchly. So far, they're still on the shelves and haven't been recalled. So, again, Matt, do we think that's a scam? Like, I mean, he had the Mr. Beast experience. Do we think that's a scam? Do we think the Lunchly with the mold? I mean, I'm still over here-

• 1:20:22Speaker 04

After what you have shown me, if you think I'm gonna weigh in with a decision, you are crazy as hell. All I want to do is be left alone by everyone involved in this situation. I can't believe what I, what I'm in front of. You showed me a bunch of the craziest images ever and said some of the craziest stuff I've ever heard. Lacey, I want nothing to do with any of this. I am not, don't you dare put it to me, ever again, about Mr. Beast.

• 1:20:47Laci Mosley?

I told you, you were gonna have to weigh in.

• 1:20:49Speaker 04

  No, I, I-

• 1:20:50Laci Mosley?

  I told you.

• 1:20:50Speaker 04

You told me I was gonna have to weigh in before you said what all this was. And now that I know what all this is, it's a P-EACE. I, I hope everyone involved stays blessed, including Mr. Mr. Beast himself. Everyone, just keep me out of it. If there's a scam, if they're not, nah.

• 1:21:14Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 1:21:14Speaker 04

Just like I would have my free will if I went anywhere and I waited two hours and something didn't show up. Not, let alone two days.

• 1:21:21Laci Mosley?

All right, well, listeners, y'all gonna have to stand in the Gap congregation. When this post comes out, y'all get on Instagram and y'all tell us where you weigh in on this situation, because clearly Matt is not going to weigh in on this. He, once he found out that this man is the most followed person on YouTube, with 414 million people-

• 1:21:39Speaker 04

  Leave me alone.

• 1:21:40Laci Mosley?

He was like, no, I do not want this fanbase attacking me. Listen, we love Mr. Beast. Mr. Oh, he's our favorite guy, we love him so bad. Um, Beast loves you.

• 1:21:48Speaker 04

  And I think he's a 10 out of 10 hot.

• 1:21:51Laci Mosley?

Oh, so sexy, sexy, sexy beautiful. So sexy beautiful. We know he is. And he had these lawsuits at the virtual restaurant, Mr. Beast Burger in 2020. So he had ghost kitchens that were like making this food and stuff and like sending it out on Postmates. So since 2020, Mr. Beast has expanded to more than 2,000 ghost kitchen locations globally, including Mexico, Brazil, and the Philippines.

• 1:22:16Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:22:16Laci Mosley?

And in 2023, Mr. Beast sued Virtual Dining Concepts, the company he used to make and distribute those burgers, to try to get out of a contract because he said the burgers were disgusting, revolting, and inedible.

• 1:22:31Speaker 04

  Revolting.

• 1:22:32Laci Mosley?

Honestly, Mr. Beast, I'm kind of on your side of like, maybe scammers are just running up after you. And you're like, yeah, make my burgers. And then you're like, no, this burger nasty. Or, oh, make this experience. And then you're like, y'all ain't make no experience. Like, maybe you're getting scammed because you have so much clout. Like...

• 1:22:46Speaker 04

I mean, I, I, I guess like my whole thing is I just, because I've never heard of him before, I don't know if he's legit or not.

• 1:22:52Laci Mosley?

Because I think that's what happens when you're the most followed person on YouTube. Like, a lot of people are gonna be pitching shit your way. So like, I can kind of understand what's happening.

• 1:23:01Speaker 04

And then it's like, it's not, it's not necessarily, you can't necessarily be the one that has your hands in all the ways that these things are executed and stuff.

• 1:23:07Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:23:07Speaker 04

But the thing is, like, it's kind of like what you're saying. It's not about the food itself. It's about the brand associated with it. And it feels like people ride so hard for this person.

• 1:23:17Laci Mosley?

Exactly. They, they made that up in their heads. So now, we're reaching the end of this episode. I don't know what this edit is gonna look like. God bless you all for staying on this ride. I think this might be the longest episode I've ever recorded, Matt.

• 1:23:29Speaker 04

  History. There's gonna be cuts.

• 1:23:34Laci Mosley?

But, um, so, Las Culturistas, the award show. I know you have the judging skills and the hosting skills, so you have a list in front of you of 10 celebrities.

• 1:23:47Speaker 04

  Yes, I do.

• 1:23:48Laci Mosley?

And I didn't tell you any rhyme or reason or why they're there.

• 1:23:51Speaker 04

  They're all just very famous.

• 1:23:52Laci Mosley?

Order. They may not be. They're probably not.

• 1:23:54Speaker 04

  Okay.

• 1:23:55Laci Mosley?

But these are the top 10 celebrities used for online scams.

• 1:24:00Speaker 04

  Really?

• 1:24:01Laci Mosley?

Yes, and I want you to guess, like, give me 1 through 10 of like, who you think is the top 10.

• 1:24:08Speaker 04

Okay, so this is the, this is the list of people. Scarlett Johansson, Johnny Depp, Sabrina Carpenter, Kylie Jenner, Taylor Swift, Addison Rae, Anya Taylor-Joy, Tom Hanks, Blake Lively, and Sydney Sweeney. So if I'm saying which is the number one.

• 1:24:21Laci Mosley?

Yeah, who's your, give me your top 5.

• 1:24:24Speaker 04

So I'm gonna say, by the way, this is really surprising to me to not see some names on here, but I'm gonna say because of how, like, the amount of money associated with this person for what they sell, I'm gonna say that Kylie Jenner is number 1.

• 1:24:40Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 1:24:41Speaker 04

Is probably you, again, these are people that are used by scammers to make money. I'm gonna say Kylie Jenner, number 1.

• 1:24:47Laci Mosley?

  You're not rating the celebrities.

• 1:24:49Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:24:50Laci Mosley?

It's which scammers are using this celebrity identity the most.

• 1:24:53Speaker 04

I'm gonna say Taylor Swift is number 2.

• 1:24:55Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 1:24:56Speaker 04

I'm gonna say, I'm kind of thinking, it's weird, some of these ones. I'm gonna say Sabru, mm, uh, maybe Johnny Depp, number 3, because of like, the characters that he plays, like, you think you're buying like, merch and stuff, like, from them. And then, by the same token, I would probably say number 4, Scarlett, because of the marvel of it all. Number 5, I'm gonna say Blake Lively.

• 1:25:19Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 1:25:20Speaker 04

Um, number, hmm, number 6, I'm gonna say, let's go Addison, because she appeals to a different demographic, like, younger demographic.

• 1:25:27Laci Mosley?

  I'm talking about Anya.

• 1:25:29Speaker 04

7, I'm gonna say, maybe, like, Sabrina Carpenter, again, because of the touring, like, with tickets and everything.

• 1:25:37Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:25:37Speaker 04

And also, like, maybe merch and stuff like that. 8, I'm gonna say, just because she's so, just because she's so fucking famous, like, and again, demographically, I'm gonna say Sydney Sweeney. 9, I'm gonna say Tom Hanks, because I don't even know what that could be. And then 10, I'm gonna say Anya Taylor-Joy, because I'm honestly surprised.

• 1:25:59Laci Mosley?

She's on the list in the first place.

• 1:26:01Speaker 04

Well, just because I just think of her as like an actress, you know? I don't know how people can scam.

• 1:26:05Laci Mosley?

Well, I mean, she has those doe eyes and you know, the Queen's gamut blew up real bad during the pandemic because like we was all watching her do chess on the ceiling with Quaaludes.

• 1:26:13Speaker 04

No, I know, but I'm just like, how would you scam people with her image? Maybe for fragrances?

• 1:26:17Laci Mosley?

So McAfee's 2024 U.S. Celebrity Hacker Hot List runs down the actors who are identities, their identities are the most often exploited by cyber criminals for online scams. Those actors' likenesses were being used without permission on fraudulent schemes that peddled movie or song downloads, deals on celebrity-backed products, cryptocurrency investments, or tickets to high-demand concerts. So the scammers also sometimes use convincing-looking deepfake videos of the actors to get the fans' bank information or to install malware on their devices that could result in identity theft. So the head of the threat research at McAfee, whose company also sells production software

• 1:26:58Laci Mosley?

and deepfake detectors, said that that's why people need to stay vigilant and think twice before clicking. I told you not to click on those damn links. While AI-generated content isn't always harmful, it's becoming harder and harder to tell what's real and what's fake. So what, who's your number one?

• 1:27:14Speaker 04

  Kylie.

• 1:27:16Laci Mosley?

So you're so close, like you're off by one by many of your list. So number one is Scarlett Johansson.

• 1:27:23Speaker 04

  Number one is Scarlett, okay.

• 1:27:24Laci Mosley?

Um, who's the Black Widow star and her name and likeness were used for advertisements and endorsements. Johansson has also spoken out against non-consensual AI-generated content.

• 1:27:35Speaker 04

Yeah, she's been very vocal about that.

• 1:27:36Laci Mosley?

Having threatened legal action against OpenAI for allegedly copying and imitating her voice.

• 1:27:41Speaker 04

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:27:42Laci Mosley?

So I really appreciate that she's down bad for that and that's also why I love the Tay Tay, Tay Tay Smith fanbase because baby, if anybody knows how to do a lawsuit, honey, you do not want to see Ms. Taylor in court, honey. She's got a Olympic team of lawyers, okay? They swift, they do a backflip and then they walk into court.

• 1:28:02Laci Mosley?

Like, don't play with them. Number two, so your number one was close. Number two is Kylie Jenner.

• 1:28:06Speaker 04

  Mm-hmm, yeah.

• 1:28:07Laci Mosley?

So the reality star and influencer's name and likeness were used for social media giveaways, scams, and fake Kylie cosmetic products and websites.

• 1:28:16Speaker 04

  Yeah, I figured that.

• 1:28:18Laci Mosley?

Number three, you're still one off Taylor Swift.

• 1:28:20Speaker 04

Yeah, that makes sense, because of concerts.

• 1:28:22Laci Mosley?

Yeah, the mega star singer's name and likeness were used for celebrity endorsements, ticket scams, and product giveaway scams, as well as disinformation like Donald Trump sharing an AI fake suggesting that Swift had endorsed him.

• 1:28:35Speaker 04

That, which had to piss her off so bad.

• 1:28:38Laci Mosley?

Real bad. She was like, man, please be serious.

• 1:28:41Speaker 04

Okay, so I had two, so my one was two, my two was three.

• 1:28:45Laci Mosley?

Mm-hmm. So four is actually Anya Taylor-Joy.

• 1:28:50Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:28:51Laci Mosley?

The Ferocious Star's name and likeness have been used for giveaway scams. Her Twitter account was hacked to spread fake Queens Gambit sequel news. Like, they, mm. Yeah, the girls were, they were unhinged. We loved her so bad, and then they were like, unhinged.

• 1:29:09Speaker 04

  Wow, people were fanatical.

• 1:29:10Laci Mosley?

  Mm-hmm. Number five, Tom Hanks.

• 1:29:13Speaker 04

  Okay, now what is this?

• 1:29:15Laci Mosley?

Now, listen, this makes sense to me. If you listen to our 300th episode, y'all know how much I love Tom Hanks.

• 1:29:20Speaker 04

  Who doesn't?

• 1:29:21Laci Mosley?

When Tom Hanks got, I remember when Tom Hanks got COVID.

• 1:29:24Speaker 04

Oh, yeah, we all remember where we were.

• 1:29:26Laci Mosley?

And the NBA shut down. We remember where we were.

• 1:29:28Speaker 04

When we knew it was real.

• 1:29:29Laci Mosley?

  That's our king.

• 1:29:30Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:29:30Laci Mosley?

Yes, so honestly, like, he's so trustworthy, he's so affable. I definitely see him as number five, because if Tom Hanks slid into my DMs right now and was like, listen, I need fifty dollars, I'd be like, okay, Tom, what you need? Is it for chat? I will send it right away.

• 1:29:43Speaker 04

  That would be so...

• 1:29:44Laci Mosley?

  I love him.

• 1:29:46Speaker 04

  Him asking for fifty?

• 1:29:49Speaker 04

  Was Boris Scott money?

• 1:29:50Laci Mosley?

It's like me and my homie Wilson.

• 1:29:53Laci Mosley?

  We need fifty dollars.

• 1:29:54Speaker 04

He was my number nine and Anya was my number ten.

• 1:29:57Laci Mosley?

I know, those are bumped up. Number six is Sabrina Carpenter. I think you had her at seven.

• 1:30:03Speaker 04

Yeah, I had her at seven.

• 1:30:04Laci Mosley?

So the espresso singer's name and likeness have been used in fake ticketing scams and to advertise an app for creating sexually explicit images.

• 1:30:13Speaker 04

  Wow.

• 1:30:14Laci Mosley?

So she done got pimped out by the nudes app. That's crazy. Don't like that for my tiny queen. We're both five nine on the internet. Love you, sis.

• 1:30:24Laci Mosley?

Period. Number seven is Sydney Sweeney.

• 1:30:26Speaker 04

Okay, I had her at eight.

• 1:30:28Laci Mosley?

So the Anyone But You star's name and likeness have been used for crypto scams, which I mean like, that makes sense to me. Crypto bros definitely probably want to look at Sydney Sweeney and buy a coin. So Blake Lively is number eight.

• 1:30:42Speaker 04

  Okay, because she has products.

• 1:30:44Laci Mosley?

Mm-hmm. And her name was used in a weight loss gummy scam.

• 1:30:48Speaker 04

Oh, wow. Just so, they can just get away with that. What did they do, like misspell it a little bit or just like?

• 1:30:54Laci Mosley?

I don't think they were even doing that. Now that they're using OpenAI and stuff, like they're just using your likeness and being like, oh yeah, she loves this gummy. And so many people aren't actually gonna look into if it's legitimate or not because media literacy, I'm so sorry for Gen Z and Gen A, but I'm a millennial and we grew up with media literacy. Like they told us what sources were real sources. I can't believe I still see people on Twitter like sourcing Wikipedia as their fact base. And I'm like, that was a joke to us. Wikipedia is not a real source. Like anybody can write on that bitch. Are you serious? But like, we grew up with media literacy. They don't have it no more. So they don't know if this stuff is AI or not.

• 1:31:30Speaker 04

  No, no, no, never.

• 1:31:31Laci Mosley?

So number nine is Johnny Depp.

• 1:31:34Speaker 04

  Okay, he was my three.

• 1:31:35Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:36Speaker 04

Because like the Disney of it all, Addison must be ten.

• 1:31:40Laci Mosley?

So number ten, yes, you're absolutely correct. That, Matt, is Addison Rae. The Diet Pepsi singer's likeness has been used without her permission for fake endorsements, giveaways and crypto scams.

• 1:31:53Laci Mosley?

I mean, shout out to you, Addison. You started as an influencer and now you're on the list of the top 10 celebrities who are being used to scam people. Like that means your career is really excelling, honey. Like you're really going through the highs.

• 1:32:04Speaker 04

  She's broke through.

• 1:32:06Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:32:06Speaker 04

  Her breakthrough year.

• 1:32:07Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:32:08Speaker 04

She made it onto the top 10.

• 1:32:10Laci Mosley?

Oh my goodness. Well, that brings us to the end of a wild ass episode. Good lord, I'mma pray for you, Rich and Jess. I don't know, what the hell y'all gonna do with this? But, um. Matt, we always ask, where would you like to be found? Anything people can see, watch, follow you, whatever that is?

• 1:32:26Speaker 04

You can find me at Matt Rogers, though, on Instagram. I only have Instagram, really. I have TikTok. I sometimes mess with TikTok. I'm getting better. Like, I have a friend that, like, she's sitting over there. She helps me get better with TikTok. I got like one of those things you could put on the back of your phone. So you could smash it up to a window and like it stays. What is it called? The Octo, Octo Buddy? So, you know, maybe I'll do a fit check every once in a while.

• 1:32:49Laci Mosley?

Oh, cute. I gotta start doing more. I do have one little leg.

• 1:32:52Speaker 04

You have, you have a strip. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Look at that. Little stand.

• 1:32:56Laci Mosley?

We all gotta be internet babies now.

• 1:32:57Speaker 04

And then Lost Culture is podcast every Wednesday. And

• 1:33:02Laci Mosley?

Lost Culture is the award show.

• 1:33:04Speaker 04

August 5th on Bravo and they stream the next day on Peacock. It's a blast and a half.

• 1:33:09Laci Mosley?

Oh, and I meant to tell you, I saw someone's tweet go viral where you have someone nominated in the journalism category. I think it's like that chicken lady, the lady who does the chicken.

• 1:33:19Speaker 04

We have the Pop Crave Award for Excellence in Journalism, which obviously is a joke.

• 1:33:22Laci Mosley?

And a journalist retweeted it not knowing that it was a joke and was like, this is what's wrong with journalism today. We can't believe in everybody. And the comments was like, do you not know about Lost Culture? It's just like, this is a bit.

• 1:33:32Speaker 04

She decided that was the moment to sort of reveal she kind of didn't get it. And I felt bad for her.

• 1:33:38Laci Mosley?

Yeah, she kind of had to take a L on that one.

• 1:33:39Speaker 04

But my thing is like, listen, like, sometimes, sometimes, like, we have a bad day and we clown ourselves on the internet. It happens to everybody. I wish her the best.

• 1:33:46Laci Mosley?

  You're such a gracious king.

• 1:33:48Speaker 04

You know what? I hate when people say this about people, but I didn't, I wasn't aware of her before that. And so I thought, oh, just someone saying something. And then people were like, oh, she's actually kind of legit. And I was like, oh, well, not if she's saying this. But then she put out another tweet that was like, oh, I'm a reader, which means she's like, enjoys the podcast. And I was like, well, that's an interesting stance to take. If you're a reader trying to drag us on the internet for this thing, that was clearly a joke.

• 1:34:13Laci Mosley?

She tweeted something else and was like, I made a bad tweet, like, after that. So I think she knew.

• 1:34:18Speaker 04

She said, I didn't even think about it for point oh seven seconds until I tweeted it. And then I was like, well, it's interesting that you're calling out bad journalism if you're gonna admit that you posted something on the internet without thinking about it.

• 1:34:28Laci Mosley?

Right. Because isn't that ironic? Don't you think?

• 1:34:30Speaker 04

  I don't know.

• 1:34:31Laci Mosley?

  It's like, yeah.

• 1:34:32Speaker 04

I think that a lot of people must be going crazy right now, like. That are like trying to report on news because it's all so fucked. So I give grace. It's what it is.

• 1:34:41Laci Mosley?

The news cycle is crazy. It's like whiplash every day. So we give grace.

• 1:34:44Speaker 04

Current events are happening as we speak.

• 1:34:46Laci Mosley?

Literally, I do not want to pick up my phone and see what the girls are talking about. Ever, ever. But thank you. And yes, August 5th, y'all watch Last Culture Reaches. I will be tapped in, tuned in. I love you guys so much. You're both so brilliant. Thank you so much for coming on this show and revolutionizing the format. God damn.

• 1:35:04Speaker 04

  I didn't even know.

• 1:35:05Laci Mosley?

Y'all will eventually see and hear the scams, but we was just kiki and I'm sorry. We forgot y'all were here. Um, but it is on Wags. And then for me, I'm D I V A L A C I, Diva Lacy on all platforms. If you want to watch the first six episodes of Scam Goddess on Hulu, though all episodes are airing now on Hulu. The first season of Going Dutch is also airing now on Hulu, the first season. Uh, I am going back to Ireland, guys. I'm gonna have a good cook. Um, so for season two, but then also my book, Scam Goddess, you can download it anywhere you download books. You can get the audiobook anywhere you like to put it in your ears. And you can also just buy the physical copy, uh, from us or from Podswag or from anywhere you like to purchase your books.
