Religious Trauma, Addiction, Betrayal — Pastor Kim Tells All

Bunnie Xo sits down with Pastor Kimberly Jones for a powerful conversation about faith, redemption, and breaking generational patterns. Kimberly opens up about growing up in a strict Pentecostal home, the religious trauma she carried, and the years she spent running from the church. She shares her battle with addiction, her experience navigating multiple marriages, and the rock-bottom moments that ultimately led to her transformation. Kim reflects on the unlikely journey from a party girl who rejected religion to a pastor inspired by Rod Parsley’s ministry. She talks about the criticism she’s faced from the church, the role her father played in supporting her recovery, and how her early motivational videos paved the way for her platform today. Kimberly also gets candid about marrying a man she met on Facebook who later betrayed her, and how that heartbreak fueled her growth. Throughout the episode, she highlights the themes central to her ministry—self-love, forgiveness, resilience, and authenticity—and shares how her church has evolved along with her. Kimberly also discusses the books she’s written to help others embrace transformation and healing. Y'all know I'm always doing something to the house and lately I've been working on our outdoor space. I'd been looking for something to pull the patio together when I found the Hardigan black and white outdoor rug on Wayfair. Once I put it down, I loved how the clean, modern geometric pattern completely pulled the space together without having to redo everything. Plus, it's stain and water resistant, pet friendly, and you can literally hose it off when it gets dirty. Wayfair has something for every style and budget and with customer photos and more than 20 million verified five-star reviews, it makes finding the right piece so much easier. If your outdoor space feels unfinished, a good outdoor rug is definitely something I'd recommend. Find pieces made for real life and get even more value with

Is this thing on? What's up, babies? Welcome to another episode of Dumb Blonde. Today, I have a woman who is so inspiring, so beautiful, inside and out, so tenacious. Your story is just fascinating. The more that I have gotten to be able to just deep dive into it. And I'm so excited that you are sitting here on my couch, Ms. Kimberly Jones, baby.

• 1:29Speaker 01

Thank you. I'm so honored to be here.

• 1:32Bunnie XO?

I was just telling you a second ago that you are my first pastor.

• 1:35Speaker 01

  I am shook.

• 1:37Bunnie XO?

I have had psychics on here. I have had, I'm talking like every, I have had health nuts. I have had everybody, but I have never sat down with a woman of the word.

• 1:48Speaker 01

What made you want to do that?

• 1:49Bunnie XO?

You know, so I, when I first started this podcast, my two top people that I wanted on my podcast was Dolly Parton and Joyce Myers. I am a huge Joyce Myers fanatic. Crazy, right? Everybody, so I grew up in a really strict Southern Pentecostal home.

• 2:10Bunnie XO?

I went to Christian school. I went to Bible camps. I mean, like, it's crazy with my background that I came from. But, long story short, my father was a rocker, mom was a stripper. Mom left me at three months. Dad, Mary, married, cheated on the mom, my stepmom, and then had to like, you know, get into religion to prove that he was gonna be able to make it in the marriage or whatever. And then we became like a cult. So it was crazy. So I say all that to say that, I, when I wanted Joyce Myers on, she is the only woman pastor that I would ever listen to, because I'm always so scared of who you invite into your life. And in the past year, I started listening to you because I did see one of your reels on,

• 2:54Bunnie XO?

I think it was either Facebook or Instagram. And I was like, who is this woman? Because she talks just like me. She's sassy and she has so much fire, which is like, I love Joyce, but she's, you know, for the older generation. She's very modest, you know? And I was like, I love this because this woman speaks my language. And then I just started diving into you. And I was like, I need this woman on the podcast.

• 3:15Speaker 01

  Oh, my gosh, honey.

• 3:17Bunnie XO?

I'm so excited to have you here.

• 3:18Speaker 01

That does so much to my heart.

• 3:19Bunnie XO?

  Aww.

• 3:20Speaker 01

Because, you know, being a woman pastor, it's, I, I, I get a lot of flak from even the church world. You know, because I'm in their phase and, you know, but I'm, I'm, I'm not judgmental. And they want me to be judgmental.

• 3:35Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 3:35Speaker 01

They want me to send people to hell and just, and because I don't, to hear that God has allowed me to be used. And it is, I mean, I'm, I, this, this is the greatest honor ever for me. This is exactly what I want.

• 3:48Bunnie XO?

  No.

• 3:49Speaker 01

I don't want to be in a church doing that stuff. I want to be right here.

• 3:51Bunnie XO?

Yeah, no, and I love that. And I love that you are so non-judgmental, because I base my entire platform on not judging anybody.

• 3:59Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 3:59Bunnie XO?

  And I have been persecuted.

• 4:01Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 4:02Bunnie XO?

You know, because I want to, I just want to show everybody in the world that no matter how terrible of a human you might be to the world, you're still. You still deserve love and that's what you preach too.

• 4:14Speaker 01

Well, and Bunny, you look at God. I mean, you know, I guess because I was raised just like you and that's so funny.

• 4:19Bunnie XO?

Oh, we're gonna talk about it. We're gonna talk about it. Yeah.

• 4:22Speaker 01

  And can be very.

• 4:23Bunnie XO?

A lot of similarities, even down to the three marriages, girl. I didn't even bat an eyelash when I heard that about you. I was like, oh, this is my girl.

• 4:31Speaker 01

And the church will ask me, they were like, why do you talk about that? Why do you tell that? I'm like, why wouldn't I?

• 4:36Bunnie XO?

Yeah, it's part of your story.

• 4:37Speaker 01

  Why waste my hell?

• 4:38Bunnie XO?

What's tea for them is testimony for you. Always.

• 4:41Speaker 01

Well, I was, I was, what was I telling you?

• 4:44Bunnie XO?

You, uh, we were talking, I don't even know. I'm just so excited to have you here.

• 4:49Bunnie XO?

We have started this off great.

• 4:50Speaker 01

  I love this so much.

• 4:52Bunnie XO?

So, okay, the one thing that everybody zeros in on you is your marriages and I don't want to do that with you. Because, and of course, we are going to talk about them because it is part of your life. But I truly believe that people are influenced as children to make the decisions that they make as an adult. And anytime I hear an interview with you or I hear you talk about your, your childhood, you kind of gloss over it and don't really talk in depth about it. I might have missed it somewhere. But I don't really get to hear the, the like, the meat and potatoes of what made you the woman you are that did make these mistakes and that, you know, that you've now learned from.

• 5:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:30Bunnie XO?

So you talked about your mom and your dad being super religious. Can we start there?

• 5:35Speaker 01

  Oh, yes.

• 5:36Bunnie XO?

  Take me on that journey.

• 5:38Speaker 01

So I remember when I was, um, I mean, right when I had, right when my mom had me, we were in Jacksonville, North Carolina, we were preaching a revival. My dad was like this fire preacher. He would like jump out of balconies and roll and just walk on seats and pews and, but he was so, so, so strict. And I just remember even as a little girl, I know that God knew that at about forty-three, I was gonna hit rock bottom and find out who the rock is at the bottom. Now I hit rock bottom a whole bunch.

• 6:10Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 6:11Speaker 01

But he knew that I'm gonna let her go through all of these things because when she does, she's gonna be a fireball. And we just always, I always felt like women were, like my mom was a wallflower. You know, like she looked like she was 90 years old. She, me and my brother would try to get her to drop us off three miles down the road from our school because she'd have an oatmeal box with her hair on top of her head because her hair was down to the floor.

• 6:38Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 6:39Speaker 01

And my dad looks like he stepped out of GQ.

• 6:42Bunnie XO?

Yeah, I've heard you say that and I've also heard you say that your mom was so subservient that it used to make you angry. Why do you think it was that it made you angry that she was so subservient? Because you do have some of those qualities. Like I see how you weighed on Angelo.

• 6:56Speaker 01

Oh, honey. I never knew I could do this.

• 6:59Bunnie XO?

Oh, and we're gonna get there. I mean, he's a handsome guy. He's got swag. You guys are a good looking couple. We're gonna bring Angelo in later, but you, I see with Angelo that you have no problem being subservient to him. So do you think that your mom felt that way about your dad and can you understand it more now?

• 7:18Speaker 01

Absolutely. I think I was mad. You know, I think I was because all the way back into, I mean, I was United Pentecostal. And the reason I kind of gloss over it a lot is because all my family's still in it.

• 7:32Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 7:33Speaker 01

  So.

• 7:34Bunnie XO?

But I think it's very good to talk about it because I grew up Southern Pentecostal and it was pretty much.

• 7:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 7:41Bunnie XO?

And this is not me in any way putting anybody down who was in the religion currently. But what I experienced from that religion was a, I left it with so much religious trauma. And I'm talking like I had panic attacks.

• 7:56Speaker 01

  Oh, yes.

• 7:56Bunnie XO?

My entire life be an anxiety disorder because I was worried if I did the wrong thing that I was gonna go to hell.

• 8:03Speaker 01

He was a mean god, wasn't he?

• 8:05Bunnie XO?

  It's terrible.

• 8:05Speaker 01

  It scared me to death.

• 8:07Bunnie XO?

Yeah, and I just don't think that that's right that they do that. So I think if you did speak on it, I think that that's okay because look at where you are now.

• 8:15Speaker 01

Now, I do it, I do speak on it, but, and when I do, I get dragged. The church world comes after me.

• 8:21Bunnie XO?

They're so mean. We actually have gone through it with the church people.

• 8:24Speaker 01

I have to pray over myself often because I pastor a phenomenal church in Atlanta.

• 8:29Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 8:30Speaker 01

Limitless Church is an incredible church and I love God with all my heart, but I don't like his people a lot of times. And so I just have to pray. I'll call my mom and say, Mom, you gotta pray for me because I wanna, I wanna, I wanna, the hood part of me wants to come out.

• 8:45Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 8:46Speaker 01

You know, I'm holy, but I'm hood too.

• 8:50Bunnie XO?

Holy enough to pray for you, but not enough to swing on you, baby.

• 8:52Speaker 01

And so I think what it is, is I think that me being raised, I remember going to church. I remember how religious those people were. I remember how less than women were. I remember watching my mother, literally everything that ever she ever did was for me and my brother and my dad. It was like us four and no more. And I got angry because I saw my mom, literally my dad would be sitting right here. And my dad would just put his glass down on the table and she'd get up and go, ready, get us water. I'd be like, dude, you got two hands and two feet. He would never do that.

• 9:28Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 9:28Speaker 01

Okay. I think that's the difference is that.

• 9:31Bunnie XO?

He, he doesn't expect it and that's why you love to do it because it's not an expectation.

• 9:36Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 9:37Bunnie XO?

Yeah, no, I respect that because I'm the same way with my husband and I get dragged all the time. Because you actually said something one time. You said an alpha woman loves to be submissive for her, her husband. And I said the same thing. Do you guys remember that? And I got dragged and I stood 10 toes down, baby. I was like, I was like, I don't care.

• 9:55Speaker 01

Even if I'm wrong, I'm still gonna stand 10 toes down.

• 9:58Bunnie XO?

Same. That I was not, I was gonna stand 10 toes down on it because I, when a man makes you feel safe,

• 10:03Speaker 01

  Man.

• 10:03Bunnie XO?

  you want to love them.

• 10:05Speaker 01

And, and you're just so thankful.

• 10:06Bunnie XO?

So thankful. And you're just like, thank you, Jesus. Where did you come from? You know?

• 10:10Speaker 01

And you know what? They love you so well.

• 10:12Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 10:13Speaker 01

And I didn't really see that. Now, I'm not knocking my daddy at all. Like I, my daddy, I was his girl.

• 10:18Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 10:18Speaker 01

But about 25 years into their marriage, he had an affair.

• 10:22Bunnie XO?

  Hmm.

• 10:23Speaker 01

And I remember it just broke my heart. But, but let me go back to seven. Seven years old, I remember. Sitting, we had church every night for starters. And all the, all the ushers would just spank me because I was always bad. Like if you're.

• 10:38Bunnie XO?

Not the usher spanking you, Kim.

• 10:40Speaker 01

And I was mad about that. Why are you gonna let? I probably shouldn't say his name.

• 10:45Bunnie XO?

  Why? Leave that, Jason.

• 10:47Speaker 01

Why are you gonna let him take me out and spake me? But I was just a mad child.

• 10:53Bunnie XO?

It was a different time in life, too.

• 10:54Speaker 01

Yes, it was just that, that religion. But I remember at seven years old, we were in church. And I had a lot of trauma. There was already a lot of trauma. Because I remember coming around the corner in our house. And we couldn't, we couldn't wear pants. We couldn't wear makeup. We couldn't go to the racquetball club. We couldn't go to anywhere. It was literally like walking through Sears. My mom would put her hand up like this over my eyes when we walked through the TV section. Because that one eyed demon is gonna get you. And I remember I would always test that. Like I'd say, I'm going to the bathroom. And I'd go sit in front of the TV to see if the demon was gonna come out. So I was always testing those waters, you know?

• 11:33Speaker 01

And I remember at seven years old, I was laying down under one of the seats like this at our church. And I was looking up at my dad and I was watching the choir. And my mom was up there just leading the worship choir. And all these people were just standing there like this. And I remember thinking, oh, my gosh. They are miserable. They look like they're about to cut their wrist. We're singing about Jesus. This whole church is miserable looking. And if this is what heaven looks like? And God's so mean? Like every time we walk in the prayer room, my mother immediately starts rocking back and forth. And within two seconds, she's bawling. Just nose snotting. And I remember thinking, God, you are so mean.

• 12:18Speaker 01

That my mom even has to cry to get your attention.

• 12:20Bunnie XO?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 12:21Speaker 01

At seven years old, something shifted. Seven years old, something shifted in me. And it was like I just became angry. I don't care if I go to hell. I don't care if, if church people don't like me. You can't do that, Kim. And I'm gonna go do exactly what you told me I couldn't do. And so it was almost like the enemy had an assignment. You know what she does a lot of times? And he'll use people. And I just think I had wounds. I had a lot of wounds. I would, I remember coming home one day and my mother, uh, sitting on, uh, in the kitchen. And my dad had, was trying to calm her down. And she was just screaming. And me and my brother are sitting on the stairs. And she's screaming, I can't do this anymore.

• 13:04Speaker 01

And the church deacons had come over and let them have it. Because we went to the South Lake Racquetball Club.

• 13:11Bunnie XO?

  Cause you what?

• 13:12Speaker 01

Cause we went to the racquetball club.

• 13:14Bunnie XO?

  Oh my gosh.

• 13:15Speaker 01

And so it was just anger. And my mom was having a nervous breakdown over these church people. And so I think it was just layer after layer after layer after layer. And then it was just a place of whatever I want to do, I'm gonna do it. Because I don't want to look like that. And if going to heaven means I gotta go with them? The most judgmental, angry, hateful, hypocritical people? Then I don't want to, I don't even care if I don't go. Take me to hell.

• 13:46Bunnie XO?

I couldn't, I relate to everything you're saying so much because I completely went through the same thing too. I had to wear, I wasn't allowed to wear makeup, hairspray, I couldn't curl my hair. I had to wear dresses down to my ankles.

• 13:57Speaker 01

  This is crazy.

• 13:58Bunnie XO?

My mom used to sew my damn clothes and I was in high school. It's all in my book when it comes out, like it's crazy. And, but my dad would be hitting women up online to have threesomes.

• 14:10Speaker 01

  That's my dad, yeah.

• 14:10Bunnie XO?

I'd catch my dad watching porn, you know, like, and I would just be like, this is so, this is such a mind fuck. As a child to, you know, have to sit there and cross your, you know, cross your Ts and dot your Is and be holier than thou, but then when you go home, everybody's masks fall off.

• 14:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:30Bunnie XO?

And I would see the same thing going on with everybody in the church. And it used to make me so mad that I got to the same point as you. And I was just like, you know what, God, I don't want to go to heaven. It's too hard.

• 14:39Speaker 01

  Nope.

• 14:40Bunnie XO?

It's not attainable. There's no way that you can get there.

• 14:43Speaker 01

And it seems, seems boring. It seems, you know, why would I want to go sit with a whole bunch of, I don't do that in my own life.

• 14:50Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 14:51Speaker 01

Why would I want to go, I totally get you.

• 14:54Bunnie XO?

As a teenager, how did all this religious trauma affect you? Did it, did it ever steer you into drugs and alcohol? Or did you start experimenting with things like that as you started getting older?

• 15:04Speaker 01

So my 18th birthday, I was dating a boy that, so back in those days, the church had missionaries. And so the missionaries we sponsored, my daddy's church sponsored, they had a son. And they lived in Topeka, Mexico. And all I could think about was, oh, my gosh, I'm gonna get away from my parents.

• 15:25Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 15:26Speaker 01

And I'm gonna become a missionary in Topeka, Notary, Mexico. And I'm gonna, because women, that's what we did. We didn't go to college. You know, you had babies, you got married. I mean, it's just the way we were raised. And

• 15:39Bunnie XO?

  It's also that generation, too.

• 15:40Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 15:41Bunnie XO?

The women just never had any aspirations to do anything else but be moms, which there's nothing wrong with that.

• 15:45Speaker 01

  Absolutely.

• 15:46Bunnie XO?

It's just not what we wanted for our

• 15:47Speaker 01

We love you moms. We love you.

• 15:48Bunnie XO?

Shout out to all the moms, but we, it just wasn't in what we wanted.

• 15:51Speaker 01

Yeah. And so at 18 years old, I remember I graduated and then I dated this boy for three years. And we were just church kids. And then all of a sudden, I marry him. We have this big old wedding. And my mom says, your wedding lasted longer than your marriage. Because when I got married, I wasn't thinking,

• 16:12Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 16:13Speaker 01

I wasn't thinking, oh, my gosh, like, I'm gonna go to Topeka, Mexico. Like, that's 18 hours after the border. I am, I am the girl that in six, at 16 years old, I was, my daddy mom gave me my brother's little hooptie. And said, here, baby girl, this is your car. I was like, I ain't driving that. And I went to Rich's and worked for Estee Lauder and bought me a BMW. Like, I, I was high maintenance, but I could handle my high maintenance.

• 16:39Bunnie XO?

You main, you did the maintaining.

• 16:41Speaker 01

Yes, girl. I was always like selling suckers or something. I was an entrepreneur.

• 16:46Bunnie XO?

I was telling everybody, I could sell, I could sell friggin' ice to an Eskimo. Like, literally, that's exactly how it

• 16:52Speaker 01

I was selling suckers from Shoney's. At seven years old, we'd go eat after church on Sundays and I'd fill my little sack bag, go to school and sell them and make bank.

• 17:00Bunnie XO?

Oh. I love that. I just stole from the offering plate.

• 17:04Speaker 01

  Come on.

• 17:05Bunnie XO?

I talked about it on one of the shows one time. Remember, I talked about it. I took you guys by the church that I stole from.

• 17:10Speaker 01

  You did, yeah.

• 17:11Bunnie XO?

Yeah. And I apologize to J, I apologize to Jesus and I apologize to the church publicly for doing it. Okay.

• 17:17Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 17:18Bunnie XO?

It just, I feel like when you are so religiously oppressed, especially as a child, it creates so much religious um, trauma and rebellion.

• 17:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 17:27Bunnie XO?

You know? Before you got married, though, like, take me through your teenage years.

• 17:31Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 17:32Bunnie XO?

  You always gloss over that.

• 17:34Speaker 01

  Because I wasn't really bad.

• 17:36Bunnie XO?

  You, it's okay.

• 17:37Speaker 01

Like, I was, listen to me, I was bad in, I didn't trust nobody. I didn't let anybody get close to me. It was, I didn't have friends. Like, it was like, I really did have friends. I had a lot of friends.

• 17:48Bunnie XO?

I don't believe that, because you have such a-

• 17:49Speaker 01

I was always the DDA, the designated driver.

• 17:51Bunnie XO?

  Ah.

• 17:52Speaker 01

And I remember at 14 years old, we were, I was the DDA for all the, I was on the flag corps.

• 17:58Bunnie XO?

  Hmm.

• 17:59Speaker 01

And, um, all the flag girl girls and us went out, we'd go out to Subway. It was a Southway, it was a place we'd all hang out. And so they would always let me drive their cars, because their cars were hoopties.

• 18:10Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 18:10Speaker 01

And I had no shame. And so at 14 years old, I need to tell more of these stories, because these are funny. At 14 years old, um, we were backing up and I was, I had no business driving. Like, why you let me drive your car?

• 18:24Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 18:25Speaker 01

And I'm backing up and it was, we like the cars. The cars that go boom, we're Tigger and Bunny. And I just hit that gas and it, I thought it was in drive, but it was in reverse. And I just nailed a, a, a, like, a, a brick post box.

• 18:44Bunnie XO?

  Oh, no.

• 18:45Speaker 01

And it was like $3,000 worth of damage.

• 18:47Bunnie XO?

  Oh, no.

• 18:48Speaker 01

And so I don't talk about that a lot, because I remember it, like, ruined all my friendship that year.

• 18:53Bunnie XO?

  Oh, no.

• 18:54Speaker 01

I really didn't do anything bad. I was too busy getting married and, you know, going to Bible school.

• 18:59Bunnie XO?

Getting married at 18 is young, too. Like, you're still a baby.

• 19:04Speaker 01

But you gotta remember, we didn't come out of United Pentecost until I was like 16.

• 19:07Bunnie XO?

  Right, right, right.

• 19:08Speaker 01

  So I was sheltered.

• 19:09Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 19:10Speaker 01

So I was scared to death to drink. Even Seagram's, my brother now.

• 19:14Bunnie XO?

I was the complete opposite. I was like, oh, I was, Old E was my first, I got drunk off an Old E in a drained out pool. Okay? I was, listen, let me tell you, wait till this book comes out.

• 19:27Speaker 01

  I love it.

• 19:28Bunnie XO?

The first time I ever got drunk, Old E, Boone's Farm, ditching, like, Utah, you read Mad Dog 2020, you name it.

• 19:36Speaker 01

  My brother did everything.

• 19:38Bunnie XO?

Oh, so, because you're- Brother went the way that I went.

• 19:40Speaker 01

Oh, honey, everybody, he did everybody in the church, all the youth. I mean, and all our youth were bad, too.

• 19:46Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 19:46Speaker 01

Like, I was scared to death of God.

• 19:49Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 19:49Speaker 01

I was bad, but I was scared to death of God as far as like sin.

• 19:53Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 19:54Speaker 01

Um, and I remember our youth would go get drunk and the whole, the whole youth group would be strung out drunk at a house. And I would be making sure everybody was okay.

• 20:04Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 20:04Speaker 01

  My brother.

• 20:05Bunnie XO?

I love that about you, though. That shows that you have such a nurturing spirit.

• 20:08Speaker 01

For everybody to say I don't.

• 20:10Bunnie XO?

I, I, really? Do they say that?

• 20:12Speaker 01

Well, I mean, they think I'm rough.

• 20:14Bunnie XO?

Ah, I don't gather that from you at all. I see.

• 20:16Speaker 01

  You don't?

• 20:17Bunnie XO?

  No, no, not at all.

• 20:18Speaker 01

I think I'm gentle and kind and loving.

• 20:20Bunnie XO?

I think that you, well, you're about it when you need to be, but I also think that you know when it's time to be soft. Like, we can, when you're like that, when a woman has those two qualities, you know when to turn it on and turn it off. And I don't see you being.

• 20:33Speaker 01

I just fight hard for people, I think.

• 20:35Bunnie XO?

You fight, you're a lover, so you fight. That's how I am with my whole crew. Like, you have to, you're the protector. You protect everybody.

• 20:42Speaker 01

Well, that's what I did. I'd protect all of them. And, uh, I don't, none of them go to church anymore.

• 20:50Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 20:51Speaker 01

  Like, literally.

• 20:52Bunnie XO?

Do you have, you, you keep in contact with any of them?

• 20:54Speaker 01

So I do, like, I'm, I'm, like, we had a tight, tight youth group. And there's maybe one out of sixty-five kids.

• 21:03Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 21:04Speaker 01

Because my dad was so hard.

• 21:07Bunnie XO?

Just that goes into religious trauma. And like, we're not here to bash people that are, you know, practicing and are, are religious, but I always say that I'm not religious, I'm spiritual. I think there's a huge difference, and I think there's like,

• 21:19Speaker 01

  Me too.

• 21:20Bunnie XO?

A very great divide of when you're being religious, you're literally just cramming stuff down people's throats, and it's this way or no way, and, you know, you're gonna go to hell, and there's, you know, no other option. But when you're spiritual, you love people and you try to show them.

• 21:36Speaker 01

  Like Jesus.

• 21:36Bunnie XO?

  Yes, exactly.

• 21:37Speaker 01

I mean, Jesus leaves all these amazing people and goes to that well.

• 21:44Speaker 01

Where that lady is sitting there at the hottest part of the day. And it's burning up hot and she's there when nobody else is there because all the Pharisees and Christians are judging her because she's been married five times. And living with a man that wasn't her husband. And that's how I look at my life and people. I'm like, man, if God can do that, then why am I gonna sit and be hateful to people and write people off because of their sins?

• 22:10Bunnie XO?

  Absolutely. I couldn't agree more.

• 22:12Speaker 02

• 22:42Bunnie XO?

So you get married at 18 and then you guys are only together for a little bit of time?

• 22:47Speaker 01

  A year.

• 22:47Bunnie XO?

For a year and then you guys get a divorce?

• 22:49Speaker 01

Cause I was in Topeka and I had to get my parents there to get me. So I could get home.

• 22:54Bunnie XO?

Don't you hate that when you have to call the parents and you're like, okay, here we go?

• 22:58Speaker 01

My dad and I promise you, I'd never, I never drank. I never.

• 23:03Bunnie XO?

I really love that about you.

• 23:04Speaker 01

Like I, I was scared to death to do those things, but I was not scared to get married. I was, I was always scared to do the things that in secret. You know, like people see your deeds, but God sees your heart.

• 23:15Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 23:15Speaker 01

But when it came to like big things like marriage?

• 23:19Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 23:20Speaker 01

  Let's go.

• 23:21Bunnie XO?

  Because you're a lover. That's why.

• 23:23Speaker 01

I would just jump. I wouldn't even think.

• 23:24Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, you're a lover.

• 23:25Speaker 01

Who cares how many time you, how many times you've been married? Like, I mean, I would just, my mom would go, Kimberly, what if, what if this isn't the right thing? Well, we'll just figure it out. We'll just figure it out.

• 23:34Bunnie XO?

That's how I always looked at it. I've been married three times. My husband is my third husband. And I always say three times the charms, but you know what? I, I used to joke around and be like, I'm gonna be like Elizabeth Taylor. My dad was married seven times. So I didn't have a very good example of, you know, what marriage is, but um, getting out of that.

• 23:52Speaker 01

So that was like a generational curse.

• 23:54Bunnie XO?

Probably, and I'm hoping that I have broke it on the third marriage.

• 23:58Speaker 01

My father's dad was like that.

• 24:00Bunnie XO?

  Was he?

• 24:00Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 24:01Bunnie XO?

That's how my, my husband's, my husband's dad was the same way. He'd been married multiple times. So I think it was just maybe just a generational thing.

• 24:09Speaker 01

But you know how many people in this world been married three and four times but won't talk about it?

• 24:13Bunnie XO?

Oh, for sure. But why wouldn't you? You know, like it's part of your story. So it's like.

• 24:19Speaker 01

Girl, there are, like even when I put those clips up of me being honest, the people that reach out to me and say, man, you, you've given me hope and they'll just start going underneath 10 times, eight times, seven times. I'm like, whoa.

• 24:33Bunnie XO?

There's always, there's always haters. I mean, I posted my mug shots the other day and there's people like, God, your, your whole entire face has changed. And I'm like, thank God.

• 24:41Speaker 01

  I love that first.

• 24:42Bunnie XO?

Thank God. Thank you so much. So getting divorced at 18, how did you feel? Were you sad about it? Or were you just like, on to the next? Or did you, did it not register because you are so young?

• 24:52Speaker 01

I was sad, you know, because I was sad because I remember my parents came and got me out of Topeka. Basically they brought our youth group. We built a church while they were there and then I slipped in that van and left with them. And he, the, my husband moved back with us and he stayed in the States with that, with me for about a year. And there's no way we could survive.

• 25:13Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 25:13Speaker 01

You know, he was a baby. I was a baby. I didn't know how to cook. I was a diva. He was a diva. And, and it was.

• 25:21Bunnie XO?

Can't have two divas in a relationship that never works.

• 25:24Speaker 01

And he was a mama's boy, which is, we love mama's boys.

• 25:27Bunnie XO?

  Do we?

• 25:28Speaker 01

Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't, don't come for us. Don't come for us. Mama's boys.

• 25:33Bunnie XO?

Now cut the embellik accord though.

• 25:35Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:36Bunnie XO?

Especially if you're in a marriage, you have, you cannot be a mama's boy in a marriage.

• 25:39Speaker 01

No, but it is important. They love their mama.

• 25:41Bunnie XO?

Of course, and respect, and respect their mom for sure.

• 25:45Speaker 01

So I got back to the States and right when I got back to the States, my mom and dad sent me to Bible school. They were like, girl, we've got a pastor that's gonna scare the hell out of you. And I'm like, what? Th- this pastor's gonna really get you. He's gonna, he's gonna bring you to the feet of Jesus. You have walked through divorce, you're, you're, you need healing. Yeah, I did. I needed healing, but they found Pastor Rod Parsley.

• 26:14Bunnie XO?

I've never heard of him until I started looking last night. Please, for those who don't know who he is at home, can you give us a little?

• 26:21Speaker 01

So I love Pastor Rod Parsley because, man, I've known him my whole life. He is one of the truest men. Loved his wife, loved his children. Uh, what you saw is what you got. Now, he can be a little hard, you know, him and his mama both. That's why my mama sent me there, my mom and daddy sent me there, was because they, they were scary.

• 26:44Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 26:44Speaker 01

I'd hear him walking down the hall and I'd be like, you know, because I knew that they, you know, it was, you're gonna, you're gonna live right, you're gonna, there's an anointing on your life. And as soon as I got there, I, they grabbed me up, I, I, for some reason, auditioned for the choir. And, because that's one thing about United Pentecost people, we can sing.

• 27:06Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 27:06Speaker 01

You know, we can't go to the movies, so we just sit around and sing, that's what we do. And so I tried out for the choir, and so from there, I started traveling with Pastor Rod. And so it made him get to really know me.

• 27:20Bunnie XO?

Before that, did you want to be a pastor?

• 27:22Speaker 01

  No, women can't pastor.

• 27:25Bunnie XO?

So this was like your parents just kind of forcing you into it?

• 27:28Speaker 01

They were forcing me to Bible school because if I go to Bible school, I can be a worship leader.

• 27:32Bunnie XO?

  Oh, gotcha, okay.

• 27:33Speaker 01

I can be a children's worker. I can be on the prayer team.

• 27:36Bunnie XO?

  Gotcha, gotcha.

• 27:38Speaker 01

But women can't pastor. I was raised, women cannot be pastors. And, um, so I go and I start singing with him on the road. And he was just always like, Kim, there's an anointing on your life. Anybody I would try to date, he'd be like, oh, no, no, no, you can't date, can't date, can't date. I was there for a year, maybe two years, and I saw The Piano Boy. And I was like, oh, I'm gonna marry me a preacher.

• 28:06Speaker 01

He's a piano boy, a boy, he is anointed, I will very be, and I remember being in Israel, singing on the Sea of Galilee, taping the Easter special for Pastor Rod. Pastor Rod has World Harvest Church in, in Ohio. He gets a lot of slack too because he's,

• 28:27Bunnie XO?

  yeah.

• 28:27Speaker 01

He's in your face, but we were headed back from Israel.

• 28:32Bunnie XO?

I mean, that's kind of romantic, singing, you know, in Israel, the ambiance, it's kind of like set the mood for you to want to get married, you know?

• 28:40Speaker 01

I remember I was singing, I know the peace speaker, I know him by name, I know the, and I was talking about when he says, peace be still, all earth, and I'm up there just singing, worshiping. And I remember I was like, living like the devil, going to my school, and I remember feeling so convicted out there on the Sea of Galilee. Like, you out here singing about the peace speaker and you don't even know the peace speaker. Like, you're out here singing on the, where Jesus was and you're over here. So God's always been dealing with me like that, honey. Like, I had to finally give in.

• 29:17Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 29:18Speaker 01

Because he was always after me. So what I did was, all the way home from Israel, Pastor Rod said, I see you looking at that piano boy. And when we get home,

• 29:31Speaker 01

you're gonna move in with Mama Parsley, that was his mama. And she was so scary.

• 29:37Bunnie XO?

  Oh, shit.

• 29:40Bunnie XO?

  Not Mama Parsley.

• 29:41Speaker 01

I was like, I'm not moving in with this woman. All I could think about was he's making me move in with Mama Parsley, because he said, girl, you make horrible decisions.

• 29:50Bunnie XO?

Do you feel like he was very protective over you?

• 29:52Speaker 01

Very protective of me. And I'm just so thankful, you know, he saw an anointing on my life, which I'm like this with so many people now. Because I know that if I would have just listened. So I get home and at three o'clock in the morning, I pack my little Ugo and I move to Atlanta. Because I knew this man was gonna make me move in with his mother on Monday. And I left and that little piano boy followed me.

• 30:16Bunnie XO?

So you didn't say bye or anything?

• 30:17Speaker 01

  No.

• 30:18Bunnie XO?

He just up and left because you were so scared.

• 30:20Speaker 01

The next morning, all the Bible Kids students are sending texts with the script up on the screen. Kim Jones to the executive wing. That was the pastor's wing.

• 30:31Bunnie XO?

  Oh, no.

• 30:32Speaker 01

Kim Jones to the executive wing. I was like, I ain't there. I never spoke to him again for 25 years.

• 30:38Bunnie XO?

Oh, was his heart broken that you left?

• 30:41Speaker 01

I bet he was just shaking his head like, she's just gonna ruin her life.

• 30:45Bunnie XO?

When you finally did get to speak to him again, how did that go?

• 30:48Speaker 01

Girl, it was 42, because I didn't preach my first sermon until I was 42.

• 30:54Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 30:55Speaker 01

Because I was married to a piano boy for 18 years.

• 30:57Bunnie XO?

Yeah, we're gonna get into that marriage, too.

• 30:58Speaker 01

So I met him, so listen, I got back in, I really fell in love with Jesus at 42, and found God for me. I was at the darkest. We'll hear about that. And about three years in, Pastor Rod's ministry reached out to me. Now, when I was at Bible school, the greatest week was Dominion Camp meeting, because we would sing, and the curtains, the velvet curtains would go up, and it was just like 10,000 people, and ta-da-ha, you know, it was like ministry.

• 31:34Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 31:35Speaker 01

And all of a sudden, he says, we would like to invite Real Talk Kim back to preach at Dominion Camp meeting.

• 31:43Bunnie XO?

  How'd that make you feel?

• 31:44Speaker 01

Oh, I thought Ashton Kutcher was gonna be there. Like, I'll get on this plane, and Ashton Kutcher's gonna be there, like, punking me. I was blown away, but God told me, when I turned 42, God told me whenever I was really getting myself together, man, I was finding God, and I was on that hunt, and I was just, it was like a rapid, buddy, it was like a rapid, I was, I'd lost all my friends in that season, and I remember I was driving this, knockoff Bentley is what I call it, and it was a 300 Chrysler, and I was back at my mom's house, and smoke would come out of my car every day, coming back from Bloomingdale's where I worked.

• 32:25Speaker 01

And I did a video that day, talking to myself, and I was like, if you are in a place right now, and you feel like giving up...

• 32:37Speaker 01

Don't you dare, because you're this close. I was talking to myself.

• 32:41Bunnie XO?

  Mm-hmm.

• 32:42Speaker 01

Because I'm sitting on the side of the road with overheating and I'm looking for God and I feel God, but I don't feel like I deserve any help whatsoever. That's why my car's on the side of the road.

• 32:52Bunnie XO?

  Mm-hmm.

• 32:53Speaker 01

And so at that moment, I just was on there talking to myself and I uploaded a video and that thing went viral.

• 33:02Bunnie XO?

It's always the ones that you never planned to go viral that go viral.

• 33:06Speaker 01

Mm-hmm. And every single day after that, I did a video, but because of that, that's how come I'm so true to myself still to this day.

• 33:15Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 33:15Speaker 01

Because it wasn't, it wasn't the horrible Christians that were, you know, because there's horrible everything.

• 33:23Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 33:24Speaker 01

  You know, in every place.

• 33:25Bunnie XO?

  Space.

• 33:26Speaker 01

You know, in every space. But it wasn't those people that were talking behind my back, or it was the pastor Rod Parsley that had all the reason in the world to never have me back. Because I, I rebelled. This is my third marriage by now. Everything he said was gonna happen, happened. And he said, I want you to come preach. Well, that's crazy because I've only been preaching for three years. And I don't even know that I had preached at my dad's church yet. Because he was still trying to get used to the women pastoring. I'd preached in Paula White's. I'd preached in T D Jakes's at the Young Adults Conference. I had preached at Crefflo Dollar's for Taffy Dollar.

• 34:11Speaker 01

So all of these big mega ministries were having me, but my dad was still having a hard time. Because my dad remembers I was nay-naying and not pray-praying, you know? And I'd already made such a mockery of the family for so long, I'm sure he was taking his time. No, my dad, listen, my dad loved me, but he, he knew the ratchet side of me still.

• 34:31Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 34:31Speaker 01

You know, I could still get up and preach and bleed. And those other places, because I was just going in and going out. And when I walked in that place, I remember getting off that plane, Bunny. And they picked me up at the airport. And as I was driving to World Harvest Church to preach. It was like right before that exit, I look up. And there was a billboard. And it was all these legend preachers. And then there was me. Right in the middle with a mohawk. And a pink thing coming out. That's when I was preaching in tutus. I always was doing the craziest, like a fairy godmother. And I look up and I just started bawling.

• 35:13Speaker 01

And I heard the Lord say, because of your obedience, because you put in that work. Because you stopped allowing yourself to be identified by people. And you just looked up. And stayed faithful and stayed focused and stayed consistent. I'm giving you a full circle moment. And I'll never forget walking in and him walking in that green room. And wrapping his arms around me.

• 35:39Bunnie XO?

  I got chills.

• 35:39Speaker 01

  Girl.

• 35:43Speaker 01

I just. It was like God. That was probably healing for me, because I think all of us have baggage from that.

• 35:50Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 35:51Speaker 01

Like, we go to a therapist forever, but what's she gonna know? She, she wasn't in that, that, that growing up like you and I. She wasn't where the, the one true and living God that man would leave and go to that woman at the well. She never encountered that, like what we did. And so I think when you see the hand of God that can take people with the worst past and create the best futures.

• 36:16Bunnie XO?

But also to have such a man who is so scary to everybody else, just embrace you after that long, after you leaving without even saying goodbye. And him just holding you, like, I would have just lost it.

• 36:29Speaker 01

And there's people, I will fight for him. Like, I am that friend. You listen to me, I'm that friend. For even you, Bunny. When I call you my friend, or I love you. I will. You, you, you killed who? Okay. I will help you. I'm gonna, I'm gonna then take you to the cross.

• 36:45Bunnie XO?

We're gonna go, we're gonna go hide the body and then we're gonna go pray.

• 36:47Speaker 01

Yes. But that's how I feel about him, because he, he's hard. You know, he's, he's, he's, he's a hard, you know, like, he'll, he'll yell at. He's been in the, in the news for yelling at staff and all this kind of stuff, but. I know him and I know how he put his arms around me and how he fought for me because my exes all came out, you know, whenever I started really blowing up.

• 37:12Bunnie XO?

  Oh, they always do.

• 37:13Speaker 01

They all came out with 1933 pictures, you know.

• 37:16Bunnie XO?

  They always do.

• 37:18Speaker 01

And they would call him and he'd be like, don't ever, you lose my number. And he just always had my back. But I remember, girl, listen, he, he looked in my eyeballs and he said, I'm so proud of you, real talk, Kim. And he's saying, you're gonna preach your butt off today.

• 37:35Bunnie XO?

He just always believed in you.

• 37:36Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 37:37Bunnie XO?

  He gave you.

• 37:38Speaker 01

  But he came back.

• 37:39Bunnie XO?

He gave you what your dad didn't give you. And that was really cool of him to have done that for you. And I think that's really special that everybody gets to hear that story.

• 37:47Speaker 01

What you just said. And I think you're right. That's exactly why that still moves me to this day. Is because he didn't have to do that. He didn't, and, and I remember even walking into the church. And everybody was up there and, you know, they always had their, their Mimi's. You know, their, their people take their computers up there and put it up there before they get there and preach. I will never do that. Cause I never want, why, why can't I carry my computer up there and put it on the front?

• 38:21Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 38:21Speaker 01

On the, you know, the podium. And so I'm walking up and I don't have this huge entourage like everybody else. Cause I just was like honored. Like it ain't about me and all these people walking in. So I can show y'all I made it. It was man, I was bawling.

• 38:37Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 38:38Speaker 01

I was just like, God, you've got to help me get this together before I get up there and preach. I was scared to death. There was 10,000 preachers that had been preaching for 40 years, 30 years. And here's this little girl that did everything they said she did. The woman caught in the act of adultery, taken before the Lord and said, stone her. And yet he got down in that dirt. That was Pastor Rod. He got down in that dirt and started writing. If you've got some sin, if you don't have any sin in your life, then you cast that first stone. And what he stoned, what he did for me that day was he put me up there and just said, what are y'all gonna say? Preachers.

• 39:14Bunnie XO?

  He led with love.

• 39:15Speaker 01

  He did.

• 39:15Bunnie XO?

  He practiced what he preached.

• 39:16Speaker 01

  He did.

• 39:17Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 39:18Speaker 01

And really after that, I was, I was on Preachers of Atlanta. Showed out for Jesus.

• 39:23Bunnie XO?

So let's circle back though, because we left off at you getting divorced at 18 and then getting married again at 19, which resulted in you having your babies, becoming a mama.

• 39:33Speaker 01

  Eighteen, Morgan and Lincoln.

• 39:35Bunnie XO?

I mean, what was that like for somebody who came from such a crazy childhood, being able to raise your own babies?

• 39:43Speaker 01

  Oh my gosh.

• 39:44Bunnie XO?

Has it been healing for you? Or has it been triggering?

• 39:47Speaker 01

I think it was triggering, you know, because I kept, I remember, I, we backslid.

• 39:54Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 39:54Speaker 01

Like me and their father were worship pastors.

• 39:57Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 39:58Speaker 01

We both came from World Harvest Church. And we totally backslid. We, we got church hurt and we're working for a minute, we're mega ministry and we saw stuff. And it was like triggering all the way back. Like, no way, man, we're not gonna, we're not raising our kids under this.

• 40:14Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 40:15Speaker 01

And so we just quit going to church. And.

• 40:18Bunnie XO?

I feel like everybody goes through that though. Like anybody that has super religious trauma, like how we do.

• 40:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:23Bunnie XO?

It's like you go through a season of your life where you're like, you know what? I don't want to do this anymore. You leave the church.

• 40:28Speaker 01

And I didn't want to fake it. You know, a lot of people will still get back in church and sing on platforms and hide their skeletons and live their whole life miserable. I just didn't want to do that. Like God, I, I, I would rather, you know, disappoint you than be in church faking it and still disappointing you. So if I've got to do choose, then at least I'm just disappointing you.

• 40:55Bunnie XO?

I don't want to do the dog and pony show. Yeah, I get it.

• 40:58Speaker 01

And so we quit going to church, but I'd convinced myself and I went and started an interior design company.

• 41:03Bunnie XO?

I love that. And I decorated. You know what? I'm just going to become an interior designer.

• 41:07Speaker 01

I was like, I don't need anything. I'm going to go, and boy, did I. That is when I started partying.

• 41:14Bunnie XO?

So how did you just become an interior designer? Cause I actually went to school for it to start getting my bachelor's degree in interior design when I was younger and it was fucking hard. Excuse my language.

• 41:25Speaker 01

Girl, I don't have degrees for nothing.

• 41:27Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 41:27Speaker 01

I just tell people I can do it and they believe me.

• 41:30Bunnie XO?

I love that. I love that. Did you just, did you start your own company?

• 41:35Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 41:36Bunnie XO?

  That is hilarious.

• 41:37Speaker 01

  I mean.

• 41:37Bunnie XO?

  Kim, I love you.

• 41:38Speaker 01

Because I had to, buddy. I was a girl and girls were, you know, we were supposed to be at home with our kids. I'm not gonna do that. I'm a boss. I'm proving something to the world.

• 41:49Bunnie XO?

I love that you figured it out though.

• 41:50Speaker 01

But my, what happened was my husband, my son's father, when we got hurt with that church, he went to bed and literally went into depression. And we're in this house. He's the only one that's ever worked since we got married. We'd been married for, God, at this time, 13 years. We had two kids.

• 42:11Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 42:12Speaker 01

  And he's in bed.

• 42:14Bunnie XO?

So it was like sink or swim and that hustler in you was like, okay, I've gotta get up and make money.

• 42:19Speaker 01

I mean, it was a little like he lost his mind.

• 42:20Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 42:21Speaker 01

  It, it knocked him.

• 42:23Bunnie XO?

Was he using at the time?

• 42:24Speaker 01

  No.

• 42:25Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 42:25Speaker 01

And we weren't even partying at that time.

• 42:27Bunnie XO?

  Okay, gotcha.

• 42:28Speaker 01

And so, um, this church, um, you know, uh, found out this, I guess a neighbor told this pastor in Ormond Beach, I got a girl that is phenomenal. She, she does great with color and she just loved me. And so she, I was a makeup artist, not a designer. But she said, I was great with color and you gotta let her come look at your church cause he was need paint colors. And I went in and I don't know how, but I sold myself, can you do drapes? Yes. Can you, can you, uh, pick paint? Yes. Can you pick carpet? Yes, I can. And I went home and taught myself every bit of it, got that whole church that is now

• 43:10Speaker 01

in Ormond Beach and decorated that whole church. And it was in this shoot, rich community. And so I went and started an interior design company. My mother became my workroom. Cause remember she made my church clothes.

• 43:26Bunnie XO?

Yeah. I love that you unlocked, unlocked a new era though. Like it put a drive in you and you were like, you know what? I did great at this. I'm about to just drive it home. I love that. Yo, no, interior designers make money.

• 43:37Speaker 01

And you know what I did is I went and hired a whole bunch of really good designers. That were better than me and I'd sit on the beach and just answer the phone.

• 43:46Bunnie XO?

  You're smart. You're a boss.

• 43:48Speaker 01

But I was really good too. I was good at design. So I did do it for a little while, but then I got so big that I just had teams. But

• 43:55Bunnie XO?

  But look how

• 43:56Speaker 01

I went back and preached at that church too.

• 43:57Bunnie XO?

Look how God was working in your life, even when you didn't realize it. Like he's still provided and was like, you know what? Even though she's not going to church right now, she's at least pouring her energy into something.

• 44:07Speaker 01

  That's how God is.

• 44:08Bunnie XO?

  I know.

• 44:09Speaker 01

God is like that. God is, God is never ever changing. He is just because we do bad things or make, not even bad things. We do the best we can. Like I wasn't just out in these streets wanting to go to hell for real, for real. I had two kids.

• 44:23Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 44:23Speaker 01

  I just had some stuff.

• 44:24Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 44:25Speaker 01

And I just stayed away from the people that it caused the harm. I don't believe you can heal where you got killed. You know, or left for dead. And so I started decorating that church and then I started interior designing and my husband who came that stayed on with the kids. And I did that for eight years.

• 44:41Bunnie XO?

Wow. You made a whole career out of it.

• 44:44Speaker 01

And we got in with all these rich people that would taught us about ecstasy and

• 44:49Bunnie XO?

  Yep.

• 44:50Speaker 01

  Oh my

• 44:50Bunnie XO?

  The designer drugs.

• 44:51Speaker 01

Man, they were swapping. I ain't never heard of that stuff. I was like, y'all are

• 44:56Bunnie XO?

Swingers. Oh yeah. In Florida too. Don't go to the pineapple upside down houses.

• 45:00Speaker 01

Well, honey, I made it. Made it to the villages or whatever they're called.

• 45:08Speaker 01

I would lay in my bed at night and I'd be like, are you still there? I just thought he done turned me all over and all this.

• 45:15Bunnie XO?

And she's like, God, are you still there?

• 45:18Speaker 01

He done turned me over to the pineapples.

• 45:22Bunnie XO?

  Oh my God.

• 45:23Speaker 01

Cause I was sheltered. I was sheltered. I never knew.

• 45:27Bunnie XO?

Okay. So let's, let's deep dive here a little bit. Okay. You know, I have to peel back the layers. So you and your husband started partying really hard. You guys started using drugs and you guys also started swinging?

• 45:39Speaker 01

  Never swang.

• 45:40Bunnie XO?

  Okay. Never swang. Swopped.

• 45:43Speaker 01

We never did none of that.

• 45:44Bunnie XO?

Okay. She's like, yes, no, maybe so.

• 45:46Speaker 01

No, we didn't do any of that, but we had friends. Like we were all around it. Like we would leave. There wasn't no way if that man would have ever said, cause I'm this kind of woman.

• 45:55Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 45:56Speaker 01

You, you, you, you're gonna let me, you're gonna let, who? What? That means you don't love me. Cause I'm not sharing this man with. I will, I will cut you.

• 46:05Speaker 01

You know, my, my exes maybe, but if I love you.

• 46:09Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 46:10Speaker 01

And, and remember I'd encountered that with my father. So I just didn't have a good trust in men anyway.

• 46:15Bunnie XO?

Gotcha. But I love that you didn't judge people who were in that lifestyle.

• 46:18Speaker 01

Oh, no, honey. I was best friends with them.

• 46:19Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 46:20Speaker 01

And I remember as soon as they all started getting real, you know, caught up, we'd, we'd dip.

• 46:27Bunnie XO?

She's like, all right, this is, this is my exit. I'm on ecstasy, jaw grinding. We're going home, honey.

• 46:33Speaker 01

I look back, girl, you ever just look back and think about stuff you did?

• 46:37Bunnie XO?

  Honey.

• 46:38Speaker 01

And think I would have went to jail for a really, really long time.

• 46:41Bunnie XO?

Yes. Yes. All, all those mug shots. There's more.

• 46:44Speaker 01

But I should have had some.

• 46:46Bunnie XO?

  Yeah. I'm sorry?

• 46:47Speaker 01

  I should have had some.

• 46:48Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 46:49Speaker 01

Because I think of like stuff that we did back in that era.

• 46:54Bunnie XO?

  Era. Yeah.

• 46:55Speaker 01

Where my little boys were just, man.

• 46:57Bunnie XO?

It was a different life back then though. Like I don't think of, not that I'm excusing our behavior, but I'm sorry, if I could go back to the nineties and two thousands, I would do it all over again.

• 47:07Speaker 01

  I know it. So different.

• 47:09Bunnie XO?

I love that era of life, even in the, the early two thousands too. I don't know what's going on in the world today, but it's not the world that I grew up in. And it's just a completely different, you know, time.

• 47:20Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 47:20Bunnie XO?

Um, so you guys are partying.

• 47:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 47:23Bunnie XO?

  When does the party stop?

• 47:26Speaker 01

  So.

• 47:26Bunnie XO?

When do you realize you need the party to stop?

• 47:28Speaker 01

It was, it was seventeen years and 11 months. We were married and it was so bad. I remember my 30th birthday. It was that night was when all hell broke loose. Like we'd been partying. We, our house was the party house. My little boys were just, I remember my mom coming to my doorstep one night, right around my 30th birthday. And just crying. And she was like, baby girl, I'm praying for you. Like this is just not you. And I'd be like, girl, I ain't never coming back to Jesus with a cigarette hanging out my mouth.

• 48:05Bunnie XO?

  No.

• 48:06Speaker 01

And I just remember the tears. And so I'd just go drink some more so I didn't have to remember the pain.

• 48:11Bunnie XO?

  So you didn't have to.

• 48:12Speaker 01

That I calls my mom because I didn't want, I didn't want to be this way, but it was way better than those people that I'd encountered in the church. So it was either this or that.

• 48:23Bunnie XO?

You felt a sense of freedom.

• 48:25Speaker 01

  Oh, yes.

• 48:26Bunnie XO?

Of being able to choose who you were in that moment. If you wanted to drink, you could. If you wanted to smoke, you could. If you wanted to drop ecstasy, you could. Nobody's gonna tell you what to do.

• 48:35Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 48:35Bunnie XO?

Because those formative years, you were told what to do.

• 48:38Speaker 01

And I wasn't even thinking about God, really.

• 48:40Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 48:41Speaker 01

You know, because he wasn't thinking about me, I didn't think. I just wasn't even thinking about dying. Like when you're caught up in sin, sin will take you further than you want to go.

• 48:51Bunnie XO?

  Yes, ma'am.

• 48:52Speaker 01

Costs you more than you want to pay and keep you longer than you want to stay when you do it, what I was doing. Whereas just taking control of your life. And I remember one night, 30th birthday, and it was like the first time that I felt abuse. I was like, man, we are in trouble.

• 49:13Bunnie XO?

  Wow.

• 49:14Speaker 01

And I remember that night, my mom calls me and she says, baby girl, God wants me to ask you a question. She said, do you want this in 20 years? And I was like, man, we were so far gone.

• 49:28Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 49:29Speaker 01

Like numb, gone. Cause you can't be raised in church and know God.

• 49:36Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 49:36Speaker 01

And not feel in your deepest, darkest hungover.

• 49:42Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, have some conviction.

• 49:43Speaker 01

  You can't not.

• 49:45Bunnie XO?

Yeah, there's always a fear there for sure.

• 49:46Speaker 01

Cause you did feel God, even in those seasons that those people let you down. You, you did. You, you couldn't neglect that. And so I just listened to her and at that night, my, I didn't know where he was. You know, I didn't know where he was. I didn't uh know what was going on and I was in a very dark place.

• 50:06Bunnie XO?

When you say you felt abuse, was it physical?

• 50:10Speaker 01

You know, we were both physical, you know, just as, just because it's my son's father, I'm so careful. Because I've changed so much.

• 50:20Bunnie XO?

Trust me, I get it. When you have that so much going on and I'm.

• 50:23Speaker 01

Girl, it was just my mouth.

• 50:25Bunnie XO?

Yeah, well, yes, I get it. I get it.

• 50:27Speaker 01

I could slice you up and, and leave you for dead. I was so detached. Like I was, I was so wounded. That people that had been in my life for thirteen, fourteen years would leave and I would act like they had never even been there. Like I just had no attachment ability at all.

• 50:46Bunnie XO?

I call it being a verbal sniper because I was the same way.

• 50:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 50:50Bunnie XO?

I would cut people off and just leave them like just so heartless.

• 50:55Speaker 01

Like not even care. Like I, I even think back to this day, did you care? Like, did, did you? No. Like it was like I just expected everyone to leave, you know? So it was like, I was like, he's out.

• 51:07Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 51:08Speaker 01

And then I'd walk in a room with them and never even look at them. Like they, they had never been there.

• 51:13Bunnie XO?

I would always hurt people before they could hurt me.

• 51:15Speaker 01

  Yes, me too.

• 51:15Bunnie XO?

Self sabotage at its finest. Yeah.

• 51:18Speaker 01

And so that's when it really started. I still stayed another four years after that, trying to, trying to save him. I really honestly thought he's gonna come to his grips. He's gonna get it together and.

• 51:31Bunnie XO?

Was it just depression or was he in addiction at that time too?

• 51:34Speaker 01

It was addiction. Just right, just full blown. My parents came and, and tried to go through, uh, what's it called? Sober and sober him up. He went away. Uh, it was, it was just had a hold on him.

• 51:50Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 51:51Speaker 01

And um, I mean, I could party and then get up and go to work. You know, it was a, I was a party animal.

• 51:57Bunnie XO?

I was a functioning addict myself.

• 51:59Speaker 01

Totally. And so my kids were lost. And I remember what finally was a hit the camel's back was one night, I remember it was this song that just started coming on because I was all by my help myself. My kids were at my mom's house in Atlanta and I was living in Orlando, Florida. And at this point, so much had taken place in this marriage. I mean, police,

• 52:26Speaker 01

just holes in walls, just rage. And this night, it was like, I'm dying tonight. Like, I knew this night, I was gonna die. Like, it was so, it was at the top of rage. It was like the, everything came to a head. And that night, all I could think about was, I gotta get out of this house. And then I gotta go where I gotta go. And because I'd protected him, I didn't, there was nobody around. I mean, we had, I literally started this man a church trying to get him sober. Like, if I at least, I mean, I went and found a movie theater, bought all the music equipment.

• 53:07Speaker 01

He came church drunk. You know, I mean, and people were trying to sober him up so he'd get up and do the sermon. I'm just trying to help him get his, you know, get his life back. And that night, I thought if I can get up and get out, then I'll, I'll, I'll call my mom and dad tonight. And I remember I sat in a bush because the neighbors went to our church.

• 53:30Speaker 01

And I couldn't go over there because I didn't want them to hate Jesus because of our horrific leadership ability. You know?

• 53:40Bunnie XO?

  Because you've gone through that.

• 53:42Speaker 01

Yes. And I didn't want to stand before God one day and he was like, girl, like, all these people turned away from me because of your mouth, because you, you were double minded. And so I just sat in that bush. I remember about five o'clock, he left and I go and I call my mom and dad. And they came to Orlando.

• 53:59Speaker 01

Picked up my home. It was a beautiful home that I had bought. And my mother came in, we patched holes. Where, and when, when, when the fights would start, they would just, he would throw just whatever. And I'd just put pictures over the walls. And she sat that day for twenty-four, forty-eight hours and just started fixing the walls. And I remember my dad walking around telling people, don't talk to Kim. Like, if you talk to her, she's gonna have a nervous breakdown, just talk. I was out of it. It was like, and I'm a strong woman. And I was out of it. And from that point on, I remember listening to this. Credit's important to me.

• 54:43Speaker 01

Like, integrity is important to me. Even when I was out in the world looking for peace and looking for whatever I was out searching for. I still felt I gotta keep up with my name and, you know, good character. And I got two boys that even always are gonna need their mom. And I'm gonna be able to supply for them. And in this, but in the last six months, I lost my business. Because it was, we were down to that place of, you know, I'm tired of you depending on everybody else. You need to, so I closed the whole business down, gave it to my designers. Cause I was trying to do everything I could to save this marriage. Whatever he told me was gonna work, I was gonna do it. And by this time, so I didn't have the company anymore.

• 55:25Speaker 01

And I remember thinking, I got this five hundred thousand dollar house behind these gates. And I'm gonna lose it. I'm gonna, I'm not gonna be able to buy cheese with my credit. How am I gonna sustain my kids? And do you know when we were packing up that U-Haul? Getting ready to pull out, a Taurus pulls up in that driveway. And it is a beat up Taurus. And literally rolls its window down and says, are y'all selling this house? It looked like a yard sale, cause we had stuff laying everywhere. And my dad said, in fact, we are. He said, do you mind if I go in and look in, look inside? My dad let him go look inside. He said, I'm gonna buy this house.

• 56:10Bunnie XO?

  Wow.

• 56:10Speaker 01

He said, I'm an investor and I'm gonna buy this house. And at 6:00 a.m. that next morning, we stayed overnight, 6:00 a.m. that next morning, that man bought our house.

• 56:19Bunnie XO?

  Kim.

• 56:20Speaker 01

And it was like God at that moment started showing me glimpses of him.

• 56:24Bunnie XO?

Cause you were making the right decision. So he was like encouraging you like now you don't have a reason to go back.

• 56:29Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 56:30Bunnie XO?

Now it's all just moving forward.

• 56:32Speaker 01

Yes, and this is what he does for us. When everybody in the world lets you down, if you'll do the hard things.

• 56:40Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 56:40Speaker 01

If you'll swallow your pride, because that's what I had to do. I had so much pride. And I had to swallow my pride and move back in with the very woman that I married a man for to run away from.

• 56:51Bunnie XO?

But look how they showed up for you.

• 56:53Speaker 01

Oh, girl, now my mama, shh, now my mom and daddy. He didn't want me preaching his pulpit, but he loved his daughter.

• 57:00Bunnie XO?

Yeah. He's like, I don't trust you to be behind the pulpit, but you're my daughter.

• 57:04Speaker 01

She's like, baby girl, you're still, you need to get your mouth, you're, you still cuss a little. That was all, he didn't want me to make a fool of myself, you know?

• 57:11Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 57:12Speaker 01

But now I pastor his church.

• 57:14Bunnie XO?

  Aww.

• 57:16Speaker 01

But, uh, yeah, so I had to move back in with my mom and dad. I remember one night, Bunny, it was like the biggest just humbling experience. That me and my two sons, that had everything. Every new video game, every, I mean, I drove a navigator, a Mercedes convertible. This beautiful house. We would have chefs cook for us, or we'd let them stofers pull up all the cooked meals and and overnight, those boys, and they had gorgeous bleach, you know, that, that long hair and they were just so cool. And all of a sudden, when my dad comes, he makes them cut their hair.

• 58:02Speaker 01

So it was still a little in him.

• 58:04Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 58:04Speaker 01

I've never talked about this part. He made them cut their hair off, their surfer hair off. And he went and put them in Christian school. So it was like overnight, all of this stuff.

• 58:15Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 58:16Speaker 01

And my boys ain't been to church. You know, I convinced myself we'd only been out for three years, but it had been 10.

• 58:21Bunnie XO?

  Right, right.

• 58:21Speaker 01

  You know, I'm.

• 58:22Bunnie XO?

  She's like, but who's counting?

• 58:24Speaker 01

  For three years.

• 58:24Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 58:25Speaker 01

  It had been 10 and.

• 58:27Bunnie XO?

Was that a shock for them? Like, how did they adjust?

• 58:30Speaker 01

Well, because my mom and dad, we move in with them. And there's a revival going on with a guy named Todd Bentley or something. I don't even remember. I mean, obviously I remember his name.

• 58:41Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 58:42Speaker 01

Obviously it was traumatic to me.

• 58:45Speaker 01

And every single night, they are laying in the floor weeping. With this tent revival and it was every night. So my kids go from no church to laying in the floor, watching my mom and dad lay in the floor. Weeping and crying every night. And my dad's making them cut their hair and.

• 59:10Bunnie XO?

How did they adjust? How did it affect them? How old were they at this time?

• 59:13Speaker 01

  Seven and nine.

• 59:14Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 59:14Speaker 01

  It was hard on them.

• 59:15Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, I bet.

• 59:16Speaker 01

You know, my, my, my, then they, of course, a year went by 10, 11, 12. I said I was gonna be out of my mom's house by then. And every year went by and I was stuck. Because now I'm having to work a retail job because we're in Fayetteville, Georgia. I pastor in a town that is horses.

• 59:38Bunnie XO?

  Right.

And cows and there's not even a mall.

• 59:42Bunnie XO?

  Mm hmm.

• 59:42Speaker 01

  There's a Belk.

• 59:43Bunnie XO?

  Mm hmm.

• 59:44Speaker 01

And so I had to go get a job at this Kmart on crack.

• 59:48Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 59:49Speaker 01

Right? Because that's all there is and I gotta take care of my kids.

• 59:52Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 59:53Speaker 01

  And so.

• 59:54Bunnie XO?

And it wasn't just you. You couldn't just up and leave like you had done previously because now you got two little nuggets.

• 59:59Speaker 01

And I was scared to make their own. There was really a fear of I can't mess up again because I got these two little boys that lost their dad and mom. Like what a disgrace. Like the first one was. It was.

• 1:00:14Bunnie XO?

You were young. You were young.

• 1:00:15Speaker 01

I mean, the only thing that, yeah, right.

• 1:00:17Bunnie XO?

And I feel like it doesn't count. That one should have been an old.

• 1:00:18Speaker 01

And if I passed him on the street, I wouldn't even know what he looks like.

• 1:00:21Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:00:23Speaker 01

  Honest to God.

• 1:00:24Bunnie XO?

  I love that.

• 1:00:25Speaker 01

Like, it was just that. And this one, I loved his guts.

• 1:00:30Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:31Speaker 01

You know, so it was like my son's father.

• 1:00:32Bunnie XO?

  Children with him, so.

• 1:00:33Speaker 01

And I honest to God thought we'd be together forever.

• 1:00:35Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:36Speaker 01

You know, probably doing something in ministry. I don't know, because that's what he did our whole marriage.

• 1:00:42Bunnie XO?

Did he ever get it together? And was he able to? No, never got it together. I hate to hear that.

• 1:00:46Speaker 01

No. And my mom was right. 20 years. Do you want this? Because nothing's changed.

• 1:00:57Bunnie XO?

  Right, right.

• 1:03:27Bunnie XO?

• 1:03:48Speaker 01

Girl, I didn't even know how to do makeup because remember I was raised, you can't do makeup.

• 1:03:53Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:03:53Speaker 01

So why are they gonna put me at Estee Lauder? Like not even MAC, Estee Lauder, which is like granny makeup. And so that means I got.

• 1:04:05Bunnie XO?

White diamonds and all that stuff. My stepmom's story, that shit.

• 1:04:09Speaker 01

  You do.

• 1:04:10Bunnie XO?

  No, I don't remember that.

• 1:04:11Speaker 01

Oh, girl. Them ladies love the YouTube and they would come straight all over me and smell straight up like, like.

• 1:04:18Bunnie XO?

  Diapers.

• 1:04:19Speaker 01

Oh. And so, and, and you have to wear these polyester navy blue suits, you know, uniforms. And so they're like, we have the best job for you. And it's Estee Lauder. And I'm like, listen lady, I don't know how to put makeup on. You do not want me in makeup? I really don't even like people at all.

• 1:04:40Bunnie XO?

Right. At this point in my life, I'm over it.

• 1:04:42Speaker 01

  I don't like people.

• 1:04:43Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:43Speaker 01

I don't, I'm not gonna be good with, with your customers. Put me in the well. Put me in the well, I'll open the boxes. They were like, oh no, we think you're gonna be great. Girl, when I tell you, it was like God punked me. Because I was still, my dad, because I was in his house, was making me secretly worship in his church. So I'd be driving to church with my cigarette hanging out my, out of my car. And then getting to the church and spraying, spraying love spell all over me.

• 1:05:12Bunnie XO?

Which that doesn't even work. Cause I used to smoke Newport's. So I know, and the love spell.

• 1:05:16Speaker 01

You just smell like a whole whorehouse.

• 1:05:18Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:18Speaker 01

  Walking up into the church.

• 1:05:20Bunnie XO?

Every stripper in Vegas wore love spell.

• 1:05:21Speaker 01

Oh my God. It makes me sick now.

• 1:05:23Bunnie XO?

  Amber Romance.

• 1:05:24Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:05:24Bunnie XO?

Amber Romance was the other one.

• 1:05:27Speaker 01

And so I would, I still had to do his worship, but I was like into cosmetics and I remember watching YouTube, trying to learn how to, how to like do makeup. And I remember getting so mad at God one night. And I was like, you hate me. Like these old ladies. Like I don't even know how to do makeup and now you're wanting, they're coming in here wanting, I gotta put it in the wrinkles and cover the wrinkles up. And I don't even know how to put makeup on. I'm just having this whole conversation. Cause I truly did start talking to God.

• 1:06:00Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:06:00Speaker 01

Like I was really laid in that bed, really sick and cause I was sad. I was broken. And I remember laying in that bed and I said, God, I said, I said, I need you to take this pain away from me. And probably for the first time in my life, bunny, I heard, I can't take it away from you. You gotta get up and walk away from it. And at that moment, I realized that it was like the rejection wasn't. People necessarily wanting out of my life. It wasn't just because I was bad. It wasn't just because I was unlovable, but that God did indeed have something for me to do. I never thought it was preaching, ever. I never thought it was preaching.

• 1:06:43Speaker 01

But He had something for me to do that those people that I had opened the door to, who come in my life, their character couldn't keep up with my purpose. And so for some reason, I wrapped my head around rejection is God's protection. And so I started climbing out of that depression, that sadness, that hallowedness, that sitting in the parking lot with all my girlfriends, drinking a Bones Farm, you know, or the cheapest wine we could find, literally getting drunk on the cheapest wine we could find after work while my kids are at home with my parents. And I started longing. It was like I started giving me a longing because I always knew God from my parents or from Bible school.

• 1:07:28Bunnie XO?

  Their version.

• 1:07:29Speaker 01

Yeah. But this time, I hit rock bottom and I needed God. And I remember He started taking me on a journey of forgiveness. And I remember I lay in my bed at night and I would pray, "God, kill him. Kill him with the train." Because God didn't tell me how to kill him or how to pray for him. He just said, "Pray for him." I was praying for him to get killed with the train because I wanted him to hurt as bad as I was hurting. And I remember when He started talking about, you know, forgiveness. I was just like, wow. I don't even know how to do that, raised in the church.

• 1:08:06Bunnie XO?

Well, because they didn't show you forgiveness. They didn't show you how to forgive. That's been my biggest lesson in life too, is learning how to forgive.

• 1:08:15Speaker 01

And I would lay in my bed every night and be like, "God, help." I would pray that every night, "God, help me forgive. God, help me forgive. I want to forgive. I want to forgive, but I don't know how." And it was like over time, in about six months, I was starting to get up more excited. My kids were starting to see a change. I wasn't just going out and looking for trouble to get into. Right in the beginning of this journey of me finding God and really like just hungry. I came home drunk one night. I was probably 38. And it was the last time I got drunk. I come home drunk, we'd had a party. And I was the, I was the, I was the star.

• 1:09:00Speaker 01

You know, everywhere I went, they'd make sure I got home and everything. They would drive.

• 1:09:04Bunnie XO?

  I believe that.

• 1:09:05Speaker 01

They would drive me home, they'd put me in the van, like, they, they took me, took care of me. Cause I was just, by this time, I was happy, I was getting there. And that night, I walk in my house. And I, I remember the girl, this lady named Tarvet, was the one that drove me home. And that night, she had called my son, Morgan. And said, I need you to open the door. Because I'm bringing your mama home. And that night, when I walked in, I saw that pain in my son's eyes. Cause he just, he seen it two years prior. When we had to leave his father. And that had taken away that whole family, you know, from him.

• 1:09:50Speaker 01

And I saw that, and I was so broken. I mean, cause you know, when you're, when you're drunk, for some reason, you're more spiritual. If you got any God, you're preaching to everybody.

• 1:10:01Bunnie XO?

  Well, they call alcohol spirits.

• 1:10:03Speaker 01

  Yes, they do.

• 1:10:04Bunnie XO?

  There you go.

• 1:10:05Speaker 01

  So, um.

• 1:10:06Bunnie XO?

  Seeing that pain.

• 1:10:07Speaker 01

I saw that pain. And I'm walking in. And I just feel grief, cause he was, you could just see it in his eyes, just like. Cause he'd never seen me like that, I'd hit it really well, you know? And I was walking upstairs, and as I was walking upstairs, I hit all of the pictures.

• 1:10:25Bunnie XO?

  Oh no.

• 1:10:26Speaker 01

I'm thirty-eight. And I wasn't as bad as I had been, I was really searching for God, but I was just one foot in, one foot out, really. And I'm doing so good. And already doing my videos.

• 1:10:41Bunnie XO?

  Right, right, oh.

• 1:10:43Speaker 01

Already doing my videos, already talking about Jesus.

• 1:10:47Bunnie XO?

So your videos. Started out as like motivational speaking, not being a pastor.

• 1:10:51Speaker 01

  Nope, no, no, no.

• 1:10:52Bunnie XO?

  I never knew that.

• 1:10:52Speaker 01

No, no, no. Just, just literally like, man, I know you want to give up today.

• 1:10:55Bunnie XO?

  Trying to encourage.

• 1:10:56Speaker 01

I know you're starting over today. I know you're sitting on the car side of the road and you're hoopy and you are looking at all these people that look like they're doing so much better than you.

• 1:11:03Bunnie XO?

  Gotcha, gotcha.

• 1:11:04Speaker 01

So that's what it was totally. It was definitely not because I had it all together.

• 1:11:08Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:11:09Speaker 01

I probably looked like I did, but I docked all the pictures down going upstairs at my mom's. All my graduation pictures of my brothers. And I heard the door of my father's room opening. And my heart started popping because my son already was disappointed. And now my dad, which I love more than anything, was gonna catch me. And because I'd always stay away, you know, if I was gonna be partying or anything like that. But this night I got busted. And so I hear my dad walking up the stairs and I run to my room and I lay down like this, as still as I can, thinking that he'd think I was asleep.

• 1:11:52Speaker 01

Like he didn't see all the pictures, but when you're drunk, you just think you're very sober.

• 1:11:57Bunnie XO?

  And you're slick.

• 1:11:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:11:58Bunnie XO?

  Like it wasn't me.

• 1:12:00Speaker 01

And I could feel his breath looking down at me. And so I just opened my eye like this. And he said, baby girl, how do you feel? And I said, heartbroken.

• 1:12:12Speaker 01

And he said, well, you're gonna get through this. He said, but I hope you don't have a hangover tomorrow. He said, because daddy's gonna tuck you in. And he said, forgive yourself.

• 1:12:27Speaker 01

But tomorrow, you gonna get up, lead praise and worship at our church. And I thought, every white person, because he was all white, all the white people that building judgmental, all they were, I said, they're gonna die. Because there's a lightning bolt about to go through the ceiling in that church. Because there's no way my dad should let me, because most of the time you gotta get up. If you're a preacher's kid, you gotta get up, you gotta stand before the church. You gotta say I'm sorry that I've said. My dad never let that happen. My dad covered me, he protected me, but he was gonna make me get up, lead praise and worship. And I remember that Sunday, it was like God, I laid in that bed that night and cried my eyes out because I felt like another moment with Pastor Rod. Where Jesus was holding me and saying,

• 1:13:14Speaker 01

  Let it go. You're human.

• 1:13:16Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:17Speaker 01

And after that, I never drank again. It was like my father showed me everything I needed him to show me all those years. This soft side where he's saying, baby girl, I'm so proud of you and you gonna get up there and you gonna sing your butt off and you gonna lead worship and God is there and I trust you. And so I say, I led worship and it was like that, that, there was a healing that took place. And I never had to go out and get drunk and drive with one eye again. And that's when my whole life really started changing. And I literally fell so in love with Jesus.

• 1:13:56Speaker 01

Fell in love with Jesus. And I mean, girl, listen, I was then turning those car videos into preaching and, but it wasn't preaching. It was all, I'm fascinated with the stories in the Bible where God leaves the 99 for the one. Where he will turn Apostle Paul, that was Saul, that was a Christian killer. And he'll turn him into one of the greatest revivalists in the planet.

• 1:14:21Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 1:14:21Speaker 01

He'll save him. He'll let a snake bite him that was supposed to kill him and he'll shake that snake off. And that very hand that got bit by the snake is the one that was healing people. Like, I'm just fascinated by those stories of the man laid at the pool of Bethesda, 38 years. And all of a sudden, I said, get your teller. What you doing?

• 1:14:40Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:14:41Speaker 01

And he gets up and he says, now take your mat and walk. He knew if he left his mat there, he would come back. And yet that man ended up being a great revivalist. The woman at the well became one of the greatest revivalists. And so I was always fascinated with that. So I was always telling those stories. And if you've been church hurt, it's, it's okay. And then I met a guy named Trent Shelton in that time. And he's over rehab time. He had this big old movement. And he would ask me to come on and pray. And it wasn't a Christian movement, but he always wanted someone to pray. And he saw me as a preacher.

• 1:15:24Speaker 01

And so he would ask me to come on rehab time and pray and I'd be sitting up in my mama's bedroom, that room that was a 10 by 10 like size of my old walk-in closet and I'd be praying in that room. And I showed up every Thursday, like there was 20,000 people standing there and I did it faithfully for like two years.

• 1:15:43Bunnie XO?

  It gave you a purpose.

• 1:15:44Speaker 01

Yeah. And I think the obedience to God. Like, I mean, I would be out with family and have to go sit in my car so I could do this rehab time. And it stirred something up inside of me.

• 1:15:56Bunnie XO?

  It was your calling.

• 1:15:57Speaker 01

Oh, yeah. And then when I was at Bloomingdale's, I mean, it built when I, when I think about that, I could not stand people and God knew that. And he said, where I'm taking you, you have to like people. So I'm gonna put you in front of these sweet little old ladies that don't care if you can't do makeup. They're just coming to feel pampered. And you're gonna fall in love with them because you're gonna learn to listen to their stories. And girl, when I tell you that five years in cosmetics, I fell so, all of this was in the same time. I fell in love with people so much, their stories. I started ministering to them out of a place I never, I never knew was there.

• 1:16:42Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:16:43Speaker 01

It was, it was like, I, I, I remember when I really realized that God had his hand on my life was this lady named Eleanor. Came walking back.

• 1:16:51Bunnie XO?

Such an old lady name and I love that. I forgot.

• 1:16:54Speaker 01

She looked like an old lady. She go walking in like this with her little handbag, you know? And she comes walking in and by this time, because I was selling the best out of lip glosses. Cause that's all I could put on to you was lip glosses. Everybody was buying lip glosses. And I'd do their makeup and they'd buy lip glosses and I had one of the top counters in Atlanta for sales.

• 1:17:16Bunnie XO?

But it was because of you.

• 1:17:18Speaker 01

  It was.

• 1:17:19Bunnie XO?

  People were attracted.

• 1:17:20Speaker 01

It was. And Eleanor came in and she said to me, Kim, I said, Eleanor, you cannot return that. I have all the county execs come into my store and they're gonna ask me what I'm doing to get all these sales. And if you return, we have no returns, Eleanor. She said, oh, no, I'm not bringing this back. She said, I'm coming back with a proposition to you. She said, for the last 13 years, she said, my husband walked out on me for my best friend. And she said, I quit living. She said, I lay in my bed and I would just rot and everyone enabled me. My kids would bring me food and groceries and I just would leave the house. I lost me.

• 1:18:05Speaker 01

And she said, I have to get a job. She was probably 78. And she was having to go get a job. And she said, so I have to, I have to figure out how to take care of myself. And she said, I've been going to a therapist. This woman comes to my house and meets with me for the last 10 years. And she said, that therapist hasn't done anything for me. But she became my friend. She said, but when I came and sat in your chair on that Friday, she says, something happened in your chair. And she said, when I left, I went home, I opened all my blinds. She said, I told people, I don't need you to come buy my groceries

• 1:18:46Speaker 01

anymore. She said, life is back in me. And she said, every Friday, I'm gonna come sit back in this chair and I'm gonna let you talk to me and I'm gonna buy another lip gloss. Let's go. And it was like, that was God, Bonnie. It was like, all of a sudden, I was like, it like clicked for you, like a light bulb. Everything they said about me is not true. I can preach. I can love people back to life. And if I can't preach in a church, I can preach on the side of the road. I can, I can minister, I can love everybody. I can walk in a grocery store. I can fall in love with little thumbnails that I don't know. I never meet these people, but yet, God's given me this ability to love so well that they feel like they're my best friends. And

• 1:19:29Speaker 01

it's because I prayed every day, God, let me be that person that lets people feel seen. That won't still live right. I'm not, I didn't live right because I was scared of hell. I was not scared of hell. I had already been there.

• 1:19:42Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:43Speaker 01

But what brought me to Jesus was Rod Parsley and my father wrapping their arms around me and having my back when I didn't have my own back. So it's the love of God. It's loving people where they are and being there for them and letting Jesus clean them up.

• 1:20:00Bunnie XO?

  Amen, sister.

• 1:20:02Speaker 01

  I said from there.

• 1:20:04Bunnie XO?

  You just start preaching.

• 1:20:05Speaker 01

  What?

• 1:20:05Bunnie XO?

What was it like when you did your first sermon?

• 1:20:09Speaker 01

Oh, well, I pulled out a tutu.

• 1:20:12Bunnie XO?

Okay, where did the style come from? I need to know.

• 1:20:14Speaker 01

  Scared.

• 1:20:15Bunnie XO?

You have, you've had like a whole change in style, which I loved both versions. Oh, we got a credit.

• 1:20:21Speaker 01

Because that man right there loves me well, you know? I just never felt sexy. I was a preacher, you know, I was, I was, and you know, I try to preach soft girl. People say, how many cigarettes have you smoked today?

• 1:20:32Bunnie XO?

  I love your voice.

• 1:20:33Speaker 01

Because I'm like, ah. I get called trans, I get called Caitlyn Jenner all the time. Like, is that Caitlyn Jenner?

• 1:20:39Bunnie XO?

People ask me, listen, that's a compliment. People ask me if I'm trans too. I think that's the new thing that they do.

• 1:20:45Speaker 01

  Well, good.

• 1:20:45Bunnie XO?

Whenever women are good looking. It's because, no, it's because trans women are beautiful now.

• 1:20:50Speaker 01

  Oh, that's right.

• 1:20:51Bunnie XO?

Beautiful. So it's like, you know what? If you want to call us that, that's fine.

• 1:20:54Speaker 01

I can't believe I had thought of that. It's because I'm, I will say that next time.

• 1:20:56Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, I'm telling you.

• 1:20:57Speaker 01

I'm a little sassy out there. I think somebody called me Chloe the other day and I was like, well, praise God, I've graduated from Caitlyn. You know, I'm Chloe today.

• 1:21:05Bunnie XO?

Beautiful. You are beautiful. But I remember I had seen you before when you were the blonde with the tutus and the glasses and stuff like that. And then when I saw you again, I was like, wait, wait, wait, is this the same person? I had to go Google because I was like, this can't be the same person, but it was the same voice.

• 1:21:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:21:23Bunnie XO?

So I was like, this is her. And I was like, oh my gosh, she's had like a total, I don't like using the word glow up because I feel like everybody is where they want to be at that point in their life. But I was like, she's had a total transformation as far as she looks, you know?

• 1:21:34Speaker 01

I think this is what healing looks like.

• 1:21:36Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:21:37Speaker 01

Because I think we do such a bad job in Christianity.

• 1:21:40Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:21:41Speaker 01

Because I don't believe that you can be a healed person and be an ugly Christian.

• 1:21:46Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:21:47Speaker 01

  You know what I'm saying?

• 1:21:47Bunnie XO?

  Amen, yes.

• 1:21:48Speaker 01

I don't believe that you can. Be the waiter's having a bad day and you're like sending your food back with one bite left.

• 1:21:55Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:21:55Speaker 01

And I just, I just feel like this is what healing looks like. It made me

• 1:22:00Bunnie XO?

  Softer.

• 1:22:01Speaker 01

Softer. I don't feel like I have anything to prove. Like I can come sit on Buddy's podcast and be 100% authentic and not be afraid of nothing because I know for a that God's got my back.

• 1:22:16Bunnie XO?

  Absolutely.

• 1:22:17Speaker 01

It's healed. Like I know I'm worth fighting for. I know that if the heavens split open tonight and I get before the Lord, I'm gonna hear, "Well done, my good and faithful sirs."

• 1:22:28Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 1:22:29Speaker 01

Because I love his kids well. Was I perfect? No, but that I love his kids and I think that's what matters damn more than anything.

• 1:22:36Bunnie XO?

  Absolutely. Leading with love.

• 1:22:38Speaker 01

  I think I healed.

• 1:22:39Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:39Speaker 01

And I think this is healing.

• 1:22:41Bunnie XO?

I love it. You look good, mama. I'm so excited for you.

• 1:22:44Speaker 01

And it's so funny because I don't look anything like, like people will literally, because I have such a different following now.

• 1:22:50Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, diverse, for sure.

• 1:22:51Speaker 01

  When I had the tutu.

• 1:22:52Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:53Speaker 01

You know, they don't even remember, nobody even knows me in the tutu.

• 1:22:55Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:55Speaker 01

Because my whole following's changed so much.

• 1:22:57Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:57Speaker 01

  Because my preaching's changed.

• 1:22:58Bunnie XO?

How it goes in waves. So take me on your first sermon and I'm, I'm really curious about this because we have so many people that want me to start going and speaking at places. And I am knock kneed. Like I, sit me behind a microphone and one-on-one with you, I'm completely fine. But getting in front of people and like, how do you, how do you do it? Like how, how did it feel to you to do that?

• 1:23:21Speaker 01

I'm just one of those people that just does stuff.

• 1:23:25Bunnie XO?

Yeah, I know, Miss Interior Designer.

• 1:23:29Speaker 01

You know, I'll be, I'm nervous all the time.

• 1:23:31Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:23:31Speaker 01

Because I need Jesus. I just, I just always like, God, I got it. God, I can't believe you've allowed me to be here. But for me, it was, I remember I was about to do a conference. So, so listen, let me, let me tell you how I got here. So I was coming out, walking through forgiveness. God told me I had to get up and walk away from that victim mentality that I was walking in feeling sorry for myself.

• 1:23:53Bunnie XO?

Which I think is huge. That's a huge point to pick out because a lot of people don't like to to say that they were victimizing themselves. And I don't think you can truly start growing as a human until you own the fact that you are a perpetual victim.

• 1:24:08Speaker 01

Because even if you didn't do, even if the pain you are feeling isn't your fault, the healing still is your responsibility.

• 1:24:16Bunnie XO?

  Is your responsibility, yes.

• 1:24:18Speaker 01

And you can't heal, I mean, we chose these people, so what was that? You know, so we did have a part to play in it. We stayed way longer than we should have. What was that? And so I had to get there and realize that, you know, I mean, girl, I'm the queen of laying hands on myself. I'd be like, come out. I will, I feel, I will lay hands on my-

• 1:24:36Bunnie XO?

I would pay to see that. I would love to be around for one of those.

• 1:24:39Speaker 01

My mouth will get sad, so I'll be like, uh, uh, come out, come out. But I remember I was, it was when Facebook had a quiz and it was 25 things about me. And that's when everybody was going around telling about it. And I remember it was right in the beginning of my healing. I was probably 38. And I remember that the number one was, uh, what's your favorite color? And I couldn't even tell you what my favorite color was. I was so broken. I mean, at this point, I was coming out, you know, but I was still like, man, I don't even feel worthy of God's love. I don't feel worthy of a man's love. I don't feel, I've embarrassed my mother, my sons. And number six was, uh, number, number two was what's your favorite food?

• 1:25:20Speaker 01

And I remember laying there that night crying so hard. And I was like, God, I don't even know who I am anymore. Because you lose yourself trying to get people to love you that were never supposed to love you. And you're, you're just attracted to what you were and not what you wanted. And I was laying in that bed and I said, God, I need to know 25 things about me. That's good. And seven days later, it was Mother's Day. And Lincoln Presley, my youngest, he's 29 now. He walks up and hands me a poem that he's made that looks like a little girl with a dress, so feminine. And she had like a little tutu looking dress on. And she was so girly and I just did not feel,

• 1:26:05Speaker 01

I didn't feel soft. I didn't feel, you know? And the poem was 35 Things That I Love About You.

• 1:26:14Speaker 01

And I remember reading those, it wasn't even 25. It was 35 things that I love about you mama. And number one said, I love you because you're the loudest one at my basketball games. That boy used to tell me, Bunny, every time we'd be going to a game, he'd tell me, mother, if you're loud, I'm never telling you again because you embarrass me. Cause you're the loudest one here.

• 1:26:39Bunnie XO?

  But he secretly loved it.

• 1:26:41Speaker 01

Then he gonna come tell me all these years later that I love you because you were the loudest one at my basketball games. It made me feel so loved. See, mamas don't listen to them. And then number six was, I love you because you conquered hell in high heels. And man, girl, I cried like a baby and healed. So many, so many layers came off me. So then I got invited to go preach and it was a cogit church and.

• 1:27:08Bunnie XO?

What kind of church is that?

• 1:27:09Speaker 01

Like, like, like it's, it's, it's where they, they yell.

• 1:27:13Bunnie XO?

Oh, yeah. Get the rattlesnakes out and stuff.

• 1:27:16Speaker 01

All you gotta do is just say, amen. And everybody's like, oh.

• 1:27:20Speaker 01

Right? Like you don't gotta have a whole lot of anointing.

• 1:27:22Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:27:23Speaker 01

Like you just gotta walk up in there like you feel it.

• 1:27:27Bunnie XO?

  Right, right.

• 1:27:28Speaker 01

And, and so I was standing in the front of the mirror, I'd be like, hey God, hey he said. Trying to learn how to hoop because I'd already seen all the people speaking. They were all go hoop. They were all go lay hands on everybody in the whole place. And they had asked me to come preach off of a video in a car. As I remember laying in my bed, I was like, oh my God, I was, I didn't practice hooping. I didn't practice uh, uh, dancing. That left leg wasn't gonna move. So we knew that wasn't gonna work. This one would move, but that one wouldn't move, you know? So that shouting was discombobulated.

• 1:28:01Speaker 01

And so I'm laying in my bed and all of a sudden I remember that poem that Lincoln had made me and how that made me feel. And I was like, oh. A tutu. Girl, I don't know where that came from because my body was not built for a tutu. Okay, I was probably 178 pounds, like 199 pounds at that time. I've ordered me a tutu and go to this conference with a tutu, black tutu on because I was scared of these people and I knew that if I come in as something, that they're not going to judge my preaching because I'm going to already take them away. Right. They're just going to be like, whoa, look what just walked in.

• 1:28:47Speaker 01

So I put me some combat boots on, I had a black tutu, and it was all because I was scared to death to preach. Did not even know what I was going to, scared, had not heard from God yet. Like I'd been begging God to tell me what I was going to preach. He left you hanging. And so, I had a, I remember like it was yesterday, I had on a black t-shirt with Ron Stiles and Cochran Helen Iels. Girl, when I walked in that place, it was like the Holy Spirit took over. Like when I tell you, it was, I preached a sermon that night called From Stars to Stars, or something like that. Those women, I never had to lay hands on one person, which I was scared to death to do.

• 1:29:33Speaker 01

I never had to lay hands on one person. I didn't even get to the sermon. I got up there and just started talking, just flowing about, God was just putting stuff in me about brokenness and healing and how much He loves you, daughter, and all this stuff. When I tell you that place was, everyone was just laid out weeping. And so from then I thought, well, that was the tutu. It was the tutu. The tutu. Won them over. That was it. When I walked in, it just, it just won them over. And so then I just started wearing tutus and I became like that little tutu preacher. It was like your little uniform. Yeah, it was my uniform. But it set you apart.

• 1:30:16Bunnie XO?

  From everybody.

• 1:30:17Speaker 01

Well, they sent me a part and they didn't have a whole lot of expectations. You know, like it was like they're she's coming in a tutu, but we love who this is.

• 1:30:25Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:30:26Speaker 01

And I was allowed to say things like they were because, you know, at that point, Tik, uh, Twitter had already given me the name Real Talk Kim. And

• 1:30:35Bunnie XO?

Oh, is that how you got your name was from Twitter?

• 1:30:38Speaker 01

My name was taken and they said, Real Talk Kim. And I was like, yeah, I like that.

• 1:30:44Bunnie XO?

  I love that.

• 1:30:45Speaker 01

And so they TikTok gave me the name and then probably, I mean Twitter, then a year into me preaching, I got contacted to go on Oxygen and be Preachers of Atlanta. Because of my tutu.

• 1:31:01Bunnie XO?

  I love that.

• 1:31:02Speaker 01

So I don't, I, I sort of the stay can't tell you really where that whole look, I mean, I

• 1:31:08Speaker 01

I, I shaved my head off. I would shave my head with my razor that I was cutting my legs with. You know, and then I'd take lipstick and put it in my hair. And

• 1:31:18Bunnie XO?

  Are you a natural blonde?

• 1:31:19Speaker 01

  I am white now.

• 1:31:21Bunnie XO?

Yeah, just But naturally, are you a blonde? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:31:26Speaker 01

And so I, you know, would, would bleach my own hair, then I'd put all that color in it. But it was like that, that became huge awakening for me because I learned how to preach in that season. But that tutu took me, it sounds so cliche, I guess, but it was almost like I could, I, I felt like she was worthy

• 1:31:49Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:31:49Speaker 01

  Of being there.

• 1:31:50Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:51Speaker 01

Cause miracles took place when she walked in.

• 1:31:53Bunnie XO?

Yeah, that she was, she, she served you for that season of your life. That's who you

• 1:31:57Speaker 01

We're talking about her like she's real.

• 1:31:58Bunnie XO?

I, I mean, she is. She's sitting in front of me right now. It's just a different version.

• 1:32:02Speaker 01

I was that way for 15 years.

• 1:32:04Bunnie XO?

  Yeah. I mean, that's a lifetime.

• 1:32:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:06Bunnie XO?

You guys, you know, she got you started in this and you made a name for yourself while wearing that tutu.

• 1:32:13Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:13Bunnie XO?

So take me on. Ended up getting married again.

• 1:32:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:17Bunnie XO?

  That was your third marriage.

• 1:32:19Speaker 01

I did that before all of this.

• 1:32:20Bunnie XO?

  All of this.

• 1:32:21Speaker 01

So I was still living with my mom and dad.

• 1:32:23Bunnie XO?

We're getting to Angelo. That's why we're, we're getting, we're, we're going down the, yes, we're getting to the, we save the best for last.

• 1:32:29Speaker 01

  The best for last.

• 1:32:32Bunnie XO?

So the third one ended up DMing you.

• 1:32:34Speaker 01

Okay, so I was living at my mom's, you know me. I was living at my mom's trying to get out. I was still in the parking lot drinking, partying. And, but I'm, I'm coming to Jesus. I, I'd already had the spirits with the, the, the, the moment with him where we were like, God, I need to forgive. So I was really starting to preach. I hadn't, I haven't preached yet in a church, but I was singing now. And this man slips into my DMs and he's 15 years older and all I thought was, this man is gonna get me out of Belk. He's gonna get me out of Bloomingdale's. He's gonna get me out of my mama's house.

• 1:33:09Bunnie XO?

Cause you still had that thought of.

• 1:33:11Speaker 01

Yeah, I was never gonna preach. Like, that wasn't even an option. And now I'm at, you know, I didn't even have the confidence to go start an interior design company.

• 1:33:20Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:33:21Speaker 01

So I'm stuck. So I gotta marry somebody with money. And so I met him through Facebook and married him after meeting him twice.

• 1:33:30Bunnie XO?

It wasn't Facebook Marketplace, was it? Okay, good.

• 1:33:33Speaker 01

Can you believe I did that? You probably should have been. It could have been, actually.

• 1:33:37Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:33:38Speaker 01

But he slipped in my DMs and I married him and it was hell. And that is when the windows of heaven opened over my life.

• 1:33:46Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:33:47Speaker 01

And I would still be married to him, you know?

• 1:33:50Bunnie XO?

Cause you're, you try to make things work.

• 1:33:52Speaker 01

Oh yeah, and ministry took off and.

• 1:33:56Bunnie XO?

  Was he a Christian too?

• 1:33:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:33:59Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:33:59Speaker 01

Just didn't walk it. He was the devil. It was like I married Satan and had to pretend I was happy.

• 1:34:06Bunnie XO?

  Oh no.

• 1:34:07Speaker 01

Liar, the, the biggest liar. I would look down in church and he'd be, sitting there with his hands up in the air with tears rolling down his face. And I was like, when you get home, you're gonna be the biggest devil on the planet.

• 1:34:21Bunnie XO?

  Was he abusive?

• 1:34:22Speaker 01

Oh no, but he was just mean as a snake.

• 1:34:25Bunnie XO?

I mean, that's just his worst. Verbal abuse. I'd rather take a punch to the face than emotional and verbal abuse.

• 1:34:31Speaker 01

And, and because God started taking me off, he would, he would literally, when I would get done preaching, well, that was the stupidest sermon. You don't know the word. Um, people, people, they don't know who you are. And then he would talk about me behind my back. What a douche. To, I mean, I, like, the horns came out of my mouth. You literally were sleeping with the enemy. Absolutely. That's crazy. So God, God caught him. I mean, I'd been married to him for eight years. Uh, we were living completely different lives. I was on Preachers of Atlanta and I think he was on like one show. Uh, he made everything hell for me. Um, I think that was my last test. You know?

• 1:35:15Speaker 01

Cause I kept it together. I, I, I was, I was at the feet of Jesus a lot. And I was not allowing that man to steal what God had given me. And so I fought like the last one, uh, li- last elephant on the ark. That was the devil trying to take you down and just knock you off track again? Because he was so horrible. How did you guys end up splitting? Well, I was preaching in, in Biloxi, Mississippi. And so when I met him, I wasn't preaching. I didn't start preaching for two years after I met him. I was working at Belkin Bloomingdale's, not in the process of that. And those videos started taking off and then I started preaching. So when I met him, I was not already, uh, when I'm married again, I wasn't in ministry.

• 1:36:00Speaker 01

So I was preaching in Biloxi, Mississippi, and, uh, it sounds like I'm making it okay. For a while I got married again. I had to give you all the details. Yeah, no, no, no. You're painting a picture. So, um, I'm in Biloxi, Mississippi, and some of my pastor friends called and were like, Ken, we are so sorry. And I'm like, for what? They were like, you, you haven't been on social media? And I'm like, no. They said, well, your husband has been caught. And he is a cheater. I about fell over. This man acted like.

• 1:36:39Speaker 01

I mean, though we didn't have nothing, he still acted like enamored with me, you know, like, he would never, he loved the life I'd given him at that point. I was like, this old man? There's no way.

• 1:36:51Bunnie XO?

I saw a video of him. He was bald.

• 1:36:53Speaker 01

He was totally, what was it?

• 1:36:55Bunnie XO?

Old, like, what? I didn't even understand. All right? You were doing charity work, Kim. I almost fell out of my bed last night when I saw a video of him. I was like, what?

• 1:37:05Speaker 01

I don't even tell people. Nobody can even find him.

• 1:37:08Bunnie XO?

I knew it was a low point in life for you, okay? Just by the man that you had beside you.

• 1:37:11Speaker 01

All trying to get out of my mom and dad's house. Every time I even try to talk about Angela's exes, he's like, you can't say nothing to me.

• 1:37:23Bunnie XO?

Angelo, I have your back on that one, because I was like, wait, what? When I saw this guy's shiny bald head sitting next to you, I mean, grandpa.

• 1:37:32Speaker 01

  And he was horrible.

• 1:37:33Bunnie XO?

  I mean, he was grandpa.

• 1:37:34Speaker 01

Like, okay if he'd been nice.

• 1:37:36Bunnie XO?

  Gramps.

• 1:37:37Speaker 01

You know, if he was, he was Gramps.

• 1:37:40Bunnie XO?

  It was Gramps.

• 1:37:40Speaker 01

And he was not even a good Gramps.

• 1:37:41Bunnie XO?

I mean, and to be mean to you, like, come on, dude. Like, that's just, pick a struggle.

• 1:37:47Speaker 01

He hated me. Like, I'm like, dude, you hate me.

• 1:37:51Bunnie XO?

He was jealous of you. He was jealous of your light. Your angels disturbed his demons.

• 1:37:55Speaker 01

Do you know how people, that's exactly right. Do you know, do you know how people bring us gifts? Because they love us. He would come in and throw those gifts. They don't know who you are. They'd come and take pictures of me out in public. He'd be like, we cannot take pictures out in public. Well, this man got busted. He was taking my jewelry to these women. He was, he was.

• 1:38:18Bunnie XO?

God, who? Who is fucking hooking up with that?

• 1:38:22Speaker 01

  My followers.

• 1:38:23Bunnie XO?

  Gosh.

• 1:38:24Speaker 01

  It was my followers.

• 1:38:25Bunnie XO?

It's because, it wasn't for him, it was for you, because some women have a thing where they want to be with the man that the woman that they look up to is with. It's really, it's a weird, sick dynamic that parasocial relationships have.

• 1:38:40Speaker 01

Well, her family found out, and they were like, you're doing what with Real Talk Kelsey's? Because, you know, I'm kind of, I come across like, you know, back then, I was like baffled. I'm healed from that.

• 1:38:51Bunnie XO?

  She's still in there, though.

• 1:38:52Speaker 01

Yeah, he's so in there. Like, I'll fight for people like I did for her. But I went online, and all these people, he was standing there in a picture like this. And he had his hands crossed and people were like, does anybody know whose husband this is? They knew.

• 1:39:10Bunnie XO?

They put up in one of those groups, huh?

• 1:39:12Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:39:12Bunnie XO?

  Oh shit.

• 1:39:13Speaker 01

He was on, we were, he was on all the blogs. And so they said, does anybody know whose husband? Everybody knew, I'm sure they knew it was Real Talk Kim, but they were trying to probably protect me too. Cause they were, I mean, for the most part, people were pretty kind to me. And

• 1:39:29Speaker 01

that boy had cheated on me and that woman's family had found out. And come to find out, he'd been married more than I knew.

• 1:39:39Bunnie XO?

  No.

• 1:39:40Speaker 01

And all of his exes were reaching out to me saying, yes, finally, Real Talk Kim's gonna take him down.

• 1:39:47Bunnie XO?

You're like, why, where were you guys at when we were married? Like, why didn't you guys warn me then?

• 1:39:52Speaker 01

  They did.

• 1:39:53Bunnie XO?

  Oh, okay. All right.

• 1:39:54Speaker 01

Oh, girl, they, they, they reached out to me on Facebook. They were like, run, don't be with this man. He is, he is a devil. And Mimi was like, well, what's gonna happen if he's like that? I'm like, well, just get divorced. I wasn't in ministry. I'm just gonna keep taking my chances till I find this, this healer that's just gonna come in and take care of me. And by this time, my dad's got dementia. You know, so it was like I, I, he was like my savior. He got busted and girl, I went by that church, threw that phone down on that sofa. I come back from Biloxi and went straight to that church. And I remember he laid his head down on that desk and said, I knew I was gonna get caught.

• 1:40:39Bunnie XO?

  No.

• 1:40:39Speaker 01

And I was like, it is over.

• 1:40:41Bunnie XO?

I love that you had enough strength though, to walk away. And you were just like, you know what? No, you're not gonna do this anymore. So take me on that journey after you kick gramps to the curb.

• 1:40:50Speaker 01

Well, I started, you know, in this process too, I wrote books. I wrote seven books.

• 1:40:54Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:40:54Speaker 01

And so there, I wrote one last, I wrote, uh, uh, the, the one book was, uh, shut hell up. And that, that year I released that, and I think that's what gave me the, the courage, girl, was I get sick of people staying in these marriages with these people because God hates divorce.

• 1:41:17Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:41:17Speaker 01

  But God loves the divorcee.

• 1:41:19Bunnie XO?

Isn't there a thing in the Bible though, that says that when a man is unfaithful to a woman that he, he? Wants you to leave?

• 1:41:26Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:41:27Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 1:41:27Speaker 01

But who cares? Like even if you're in a marriage and I get strong for this.

• 1:41:32Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:32Speaker 01

  I get dragged.

• 1:41:33Bunnie XO?

  Unhappiness.

• 1:41:34Speaker 01

But God doesn't expect you to stay in a relationship where y'all are killing each other.

• 1:41:39Bunnie XO?

  Right, exactly.

• 1:41:40Speaker 01

And I think so many of us do that. Why would I stay in a relationship with this man that was not nice to me? You know, pretending that everything was so great and hating my life because I was afraid I was gonna lose my ministry if we got divorced because that was gonna be third.

• 1:41:57Bunnie XO?

And how could you preach to your full potential when you're literally being just

• 1:42:00Speaker 01

  I did it.

• 1:42:01Bunnie XO?

  Drugged down at home?

• 1:42:02Speaker 01

Well, I remember during the pandemic, it was right when the pandemic had started and I started live at nines. And I did live at nines because he had been busted and he wouldn't get out of my house. And he said, I'm not getting out of that house unless you give me X, Y, Z. And I was like, over my dead body. I was like

• 1:42:21Bunnie XO?

Oh, he sounds like a real peach, this guy.

• 1:42:24Speaker 01

He was filling his truck up when I was traveling and, I mean, it was bad. And it was, the devil was really trying to make me hate.

• 1:42:32Bunnie XO?

  Trying to break you down.

• 1:42:33Speaker 01

Because I could ruin some people.

• 1:42:34Bunnie XO?

Because you were doing the Lord's work.

• 1:42:36Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:36Bunnie XO?

So he was coming at you with daggers from every angle.

• 1:42:38Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:39Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:42:40Speaker 01

And I wrote that book, Shut Hell Up, and I started doing live at nines and you could hear in the back him slamming cabinets and stuff. And then getting up in church and worshiping and stuff. You know what that was too? That was a trigger from what I'd been raised in. So it was like right before my major push, God puts another pharisaical fake phony in my house. And it was like, I had a last encounter of, Kim, you gotta get all that junk off of you. Like you, you gotta fall head over heels. And stop trying to handle things with your mouth. Because I remember, I wrote that book, started doing live at nines, and, and I did a sermon called Morning Move.

• 1:43:23Speaker 01

And that morning move is what caused me to really Find that I can preach, it don't matter what I've walked through. I'm gonna, I'm gonna walk through this, lost my daddy, three months later to dementia. I'd already taken over the church three years before that, so my dad had been, you know, a part of the, like, he got to see. Transition. He got to, he was my biggest, my biggest cheerleader. And so I had full redemption on all, all areas. But I, I had written my sixth book, which was so huge for me because I was in special ed my whole life.

• 1:44:00Speaker 01

And literally on a short bus, and it was like that sixth book, Shut Hell Up, was me finally speaking out of my mouth. Never again will we allow those triggers, never again, because in the book I had to break down, what are triggers? Why do we keep falling in love with the same people with different faces? Why do we stay in situations because we're afraid of people in a free app? Why do we, so I was breaking all this down and I was walking through breaking soul ties, breaking generational curses. So I was walking through it as well. Yes. And in that process, our church just began to explode.

• 1:44:41Speaker 01

I was so fulfilled, my daddy died, I whipped my mama up, my little seventy-two-year-old mama that had never lived. She had literally for the last five years taking care of my dad, like was a little boy. I had no, I mean, he would run away and we had to go find him, that's how, how, how bad he was. And I, I saw my mom go into the grief and I just whipped her up, took her on the road with me. Um, watched her evolve. I watched her write a book at seventy-two, Sleeping With A Stranger. I watched her glow up, me and her both started glowing up.

• 1:45:23Bunnie XO?

  What up with your mama?

• 1:45:24Speaker 01

I sold my house that I was living in Fayetteville. The first house that I'd ever lived alone. Like I'd always lived with a man and my husband's. And I lived there for five years by myself.

• 1:45:38Bunnie XO?

  Look at you.

• 1:45:38Speaker 01

And I just took, took, took hold of my life and never looked back.

• 1:45:43Bunnie XO?

You fell in love with yourself. You fell in love with yourself and you started a relationship with yourself. And you started discovering who you were so that now that you enter into this relationship, you can be a whole.

• 1:45:56Speaker 01

Yeah, I remember selling my house and it was such a scary thing for me because I'm doing all these things women couldn't do for the, for the Christianity. And I told God, I was like, man, I just wanna, I feel like I wanna move downtown and live in a high rise, but why? There's nobody down there. My church is five minutes away. And I said, God, if this is you, cause I'm, I'm, I'm now for Jesus like I was in the world. You know, like we're doing this doggone thing. Like I ain't scared. I'll start a building tomorrow. I'll start a business, you know? But it's all for good now. And I said, God, if it's your will for me to sell this house, you'll sell it in seven days. And I wanna make $250,000, all my money back that man got.

• 1:46:41Speaker 01

Girl, with the first 17 people, that was 17 people walked in that house and they all put bids on my house.

• 1:46:48Bunnie XO?

  Wow.

• 1:46:49Speaker 01

And I walked out of there with more than I'd asked for. And then I had to go downtown and find this house. And I told God exactly what I wanted. I found the exact condo and five minutes down the road is where I met my husband. I would've never met him if I wouldn't have moved down.

• 1:47:04Bunnie XO?

Can we bring Angelo in? I know you guys don't do a lot of podcast. Get over here. We got a microphone for you too. You have to come over.

• 1:47:12Speaker 01

Hey, y'all, y'all hear me? Do y'all hear me talking about him in church house slowly? Y'all get to witness it.

• 1:47:17Bunnie XO?

That's how my best friend Monica is. She takes forever to get out of the car. I'm like, I start a countdown every time I get out of the car and I'm already at the door. And I'm like, all right, Mo, you know, like, let's go.

• 1:47:26Speaker 01

  I love it. Cause, cause.

• 1:47:27Bunnie XO?

Yeah, come on down. We gotta put a face.

• 1:47:31Speaker 01

Sit as close as you can.

• 1:47:32Bunnie XO?

Yeah, we gotta put a face with the name. Oh yeah, he's over here snoring. He's over here snoring.

• 1:47:43Speaker 03

  Oh, put me to sleep.

• 1:47:44Speaker 01

You know what? I think that, that what you and I are experiencing with the freedom of just living life and being able to do all these great things, you and Jelly.

• 1:47:55Bunnie XO?

  Thank you.

• 1:47:56Speaker 01

You know, is that y'all have, y'all minister and don't even know it, but now I know why. Like, it totally makes sense to me. Makes me want to read your book even more.

• 1:48:07Bunnie XO?

Oh, I appreciate that. I downloaded your book last night. I have, um, I forget which one it is.

• 1:48:13Speaker 01

I got you a whole bag coming.

• 1:48:14Bunnie XO?

  Oh, you do?

• 1:48:15Speaker 01

  I got you Bible baddie.

• 1:48:16Bunnie XO?

  Yay.

• 1:48:17Speaker 01

I've got you God's girl. Everything from my store is coming.

• 1:48:20Bunnie XO?

I love it. Oh, my gosh. Thank you so much. We'll get you some merch, too. We're about to drop merch as soon as I'm done with this podcast.

• 1:48:25Speaker 01

  When is your book?

• 1:48:26Bunnie XO?

Uh, my book comes out February 17th now. We pushed it to February 17th for 2026 and we're doing a whole book tour. Like, it's, it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be.

• 1:48:35Speaker 01

  I love it.

• 1:48:36Bunnie XO?

  Angelo.

• 1:48:37Speaker 01

  This is my sweet Angelo.

• 1:48:38Bunnie XO?

  Welcome to the show.

• 1:48:40Speaker 01

I love this man. So I met him at, at, right down the street.

• 1:48:46Speaker 03

Let's just say I replace all three of them.

• 1:48:49Bunnie XO?

Oh, listen, when you walked in the room, I felt the alpha male energy. I was like, oh, this is Big Papa. Big Papa just walked in. He's got his Louis Vuitton suit on. Like, you guys are just a stylish little couple. I love this so much. And I love how much, because you remind me of me. Anytime I talk about my husband, I just light up and I smile and I just like you. It's like, you can't fake that. Like, you're really in love.

• 1:49:13Speaker 01

They showed us what we've always wanted.

• 1:49:14Bunnie XO?

  Exactly. He's your safe space.

• 1:49:17Speaker 01

Like, I know this man would, he, he, he likes to smoke.

• 1:49:20Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:49:21Speaker 01

And he will, he will fight for me, you know? And that's why you're like that with Jelly Roll, too, because.

• 1:49:26Bunnie XO?

Oh, I am so protective over him. I go to bat. I'm always in the headlines for sticking up for him. I stuck up for him so much that my husband told me, please stop sticking up for me. He was like, you don't have to do that anymore.

• 1:49:38Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 1:49:39Bunnie XO?

He's like, he's like, I know you love me. He's like, let people say what they're gonna say. You can't throw it.

• 1:49:44Speaker 01

  How long y'all been married?

• 1:49:45Bunnie XO?

Uh, 10, it'll be 10 years in August. So nine years. We've known each other 10 years, married nine years.

• 1:49:50Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 1:49:51Bunnie XO?

Yeah, he's my baby. So you guys met. Tell me all about this.

• 1:49:55Speaker 01

So, so I went out to eat on a Sunday night.

• 1:49:58Bunnie XO?

I love that he's kind of shy.

• 1:50:01Speaker 03

Well, it's different from being at home on our podcast, because I kind of take over. So I don't want to just take over since we here.

• 1:50:08Bunnie XO?

Oh, gotcha. I mean, please take over. We want to hear you talk too.

• 1:50:11Speaker 01

  He's shy.

• 1:50:12Bunnie XO?

I see him rubbing his knee over there. He's a little shy.

• 1:50:15Speaker 01

I'm really proud of him because he's come in my world and he's killing it, you know?

• 1:50:21Speaker 03

I mean, it's kind of like, you know, you, you know, you like this guy and you're a guy that's coming from the neighborhood. And we talking on a podcast. My friends talk on podcasts. They talking sports.

• 1:50:34Speaker 01

And you've had to learn about Jesus.

• 1:50:35Bunnie XO?

Where are you, where are you from, Angelo? Where are you from?

• 1:50:39Speaker 03

  I'm from Jacksonville, Florida.

• 1:50:40Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 1:50:41Speaker 03

Yeah. So, um, they say it's kind of, it's kind of was different than I was just watching her on this podcast. And I was like, and I'll see her, I see them talking, her mom and stuff. And I came out really kind of in a jumpsuit, all white. I said, I'm ready. You just put me in here. She said, come sit down. I said, you sure? She said, yeah. I said, well, make sure they don't see my socks.

• 1:51:04Bunnie XO?

We can't see your socks here either.

• 1:51:05Speaker 01

And that's, and that just broke him in.

• 1:51:08Speaker 03

And the first thing I saw when I go and look at the podcast.

• 1:51:11Speaker 01

  Was your socks?

• 1:51:11Speaker 03

  It's my socks.

• 1:51:12Bunnie XO?

Oh, no, they didn't zoom in.

• 1:51:13Speaker 03

  Yeah, I was like, whoa.

• 1:51:15Bunnie XO?

I can promise you, no socks in this podcast.

• 1:51:18Speaker 03

But I'm fresh to death now. You can show me tomorrow.

• 1:51:23Speaker 03

I'm fresh to death right now. I mean, it's different.

• 1:51:25Bunnie XO?

I love it. I love it.

• 1:51:27Speaker 01

I'm just so thankful, man, that I get to, to get to love like this in my 50s.

• 1:51:32Bunnie XO?

I've gotten to hear her, how she feels about you. I want to hear what it was like for you when you first met her.

• 1:51:40Speaker 03

When she, we met outside of the garden area, the St. Regent's.

• 1:51:48Speaker 03

And she was eating with her brother and his wife. And I heard the voice all the way over here with some guys and us. Let me make a detour, the bathroom behind me. I'm gonna go back this way where I can see what she looked like, I hear the voice and.

• 1:52:05Bunnie XO?

Were you attracted to the voice?

• 1:52:07Speaker 03

  Yes, I was.

• 1:52:07Bunnie XO?

  I love that.

• 1:52:08Speaker 03

I was attracted to the voice and stuff. It wasn't like Phyllis Dillis or nothing like this.

• 1:52:12Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:52:13Speaker 03

You know, it wasn't that loud, you know?

• 1:52:15Bunnie XO?

  Right, right, right.

• 1:52:16Speaker 01

He said I was a little aggressive, man.

• 1:52:19Speaker 03

But I heard, I heard the voice. I said, let me kinda go over here and look, okay? And she got this big patch of, of Gucci jacket on and stuff.

• 1:52:29Speaker 01

I made these, you know, I just, this is like mine. So I had a Gucci jacket.

• 1:52:33Speaker 03

She had a whole Gucci sweatsuit.

• 1:52:37Speaker 03

Yeah, okay. Okay, little white girl got a little fresh on. Got a little style. You know, I'm in, I'm in the ATL. Like, you know, we see, we see what swag look like.

• 1:52:47Bunnie XO?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, you guys are swagged out out there.

• 1:52:49Speaker 03

Yeah, we see it. So and I'm hearing the voice and I say, well, and I walk past, I'm like, okay. Hey, you know those wings, you know, those wings taste real good? I guess I was kinda like dropping my little line. It was like, it was weak and stuff.

• 1:53:01Speaker 01

  It was weak.

• 1:53:02Bunnie XO?

I love that though. No, I didn't think that was weak at all, like at that, at least.

• 1:53:05Speaker 01

  It was weak.

• 1:53:06Bunnie XO?

  No. It worked.

• 1:53:08Speaker 03

  But I'm here.

• 1:53:08Bunnie XO?

  It worked.

• 1:53:10Speaker 03

But I'm here, I'm here cause her brother, her brother's here and I just say, okay. And I just went to the bathroom and I came back and, you know, she was like, yeah, they are good. And I'm like, okay. Three months later, now we back at the same place. Friend of mine asked me, hey, you wanna hang out? Like, okay, well, yeah, I'm thinking about it. And it was about two hours he's, man, this guy don't stood me up. I'm going on my own now. And I meet him there and I'm looking at the corner of my eyes and I'm sitting there, I'm sitting here by this fireplace. And he gets up, say, let me go ask them, see if they like the fireplace.

• 1:53:50Speaker 03

And I'm like, man, I be messing with these people. And I looked over the corner of my eyes and I can see her. And she turned around and looked and all I see of her face like.

• 1:54:06Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 1:54:08Speaker 03

  And I could read them.

• 1:54:08Speaker 01

  I was so excited.

• 1:54:10Speaker 03

  I could read them.

• 1:54:11Bunnie XO?

Had you thought about him after that first initial meeting?

• 1:54:13Speaker 01

You know, I never dated a black man in my life.

• 1:54:16Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:54:16Speaker 03

  But she was, she was.

• 1:54:17Speaker 01

All of a sudden I see this black man, I'm like, yes, I thought of him.

• 1:54:20Speaker 03

  No, answer the question.

• 1:54:21Speaker 01

  Yes, I asked.

• 1:54:22Bunnie XO?

He's like, I would like to know.

• 1:54:24Speaker 01

But I was raised, no, I was raised though.

• 1:54:25Speaker 03

No, was you thinking about me?

• 1:54:27Speaker 01

And he made me think about him.

• 1:54:28Speaker 03

Thinking about me, because I only say the wings.

• 1:54:31Speaker 01

  I just saw this.

• 1:54:32Bunnie XO?

You guys had, after the wing comment, you guys had never talked.

• 1:54:35Speaker 03

I never talked, I never gave no number.

• 1:54:37Bunnie XO?

  You guys went separate ways.

• 1:54:38Speaker 01

And I remember telling my brother, I said, that is a good looking man right there, look how big he is.

• 1:54:42Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 1:54:43Speaker 01

  And I started working out.

• 1:54:47Speaker 01

I thought, if I'm gonna get somebody like him, I gotta get myself snatched.

• 1:54:51Speaker 03

But this is a place, this is a place where, you know, it's a Friday night, people out, you, you see women all the time.

• 1:54:58Bunnie XO?

  Hmm.

• 1:54:59Speaker 03

You see from Atlanta housewife, whoever it is.

• 1:55:02Bunnie XO?

  Absolutely.

• 1:55:02Speaker 03

From this people there, and you get hit on. So I'm used to that type, but I'm used to, I wasn't used to that. It was just kinda like, okay, it was like my little lion, and it, it must be work. So I saw her face and I'm like, okay.

• 1:55:19Speaker 01

  And then I scooted over.

• 1:55:20Bunnie XO?

Were you still, wait, were you still in the tutus and the blonde hair?

• 1:55:23Speaker 01

  Oh, no, no, no, no.

• 1:55:24Speaker 03

  Oh, no, no, no, no.

• 1:55:25Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 1:55:25Speaker 01

This was only three years ago.

• 1:55:26Speaker 03

  Oh, no, no, no.

• 1:55:27Bunnie XO?

  He said no.

• 1:55:28Speaker 01

So I retired my tutus when I took her over to church.

• 1:55:31Bunnie XO?

  Okay, gotcha.

• 1:55:32Speaker 01

And I'm gonna be pastor six years.

• 1:55:34Bunnie XO?

  Okay.

• 1:55:34Speaker 03

She was kinda like into Mrs. Brady like type, though.

• 1:55:39Bunnie XO?

  Not the Florence Hendersons.

• 1:55:40Speaker 03

Yeah, she had a little bit of that going on, so I said, you know, and we started, and she's, and so, so actually, I got up, and my friend, he already done parlay over here.

• 1:55:50Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 1:55:51Speaker 03

So I got up and I'm like, let me come over here and stuff, and she said, you can, you can sit right here.

• 1:55:57Bunnie XO?

  Kim was not shy.

• 1:55:59Speaker 01

Yeah, she was. But I was, I was shy.

• 1:56:01Speaker 03

  Oh, no, she was like.

• 1:56:02Speaker 01

But I'm gonna let him get away this time.

• 1:56:04Speaker 03

She's like, oh, she said, you can sit right here.

• 1:56:05Bunnie XO?

  Like I would call Chachi.

• 1:56:08Speaker 01

  Yes, Chachi.

• 1:56:10Speaker 03

  And I was like, okay.

• 1:56:12Speaker 01

And I got real, I was like, girl, you gotta learn how to flirt, like, I ain't never know how to flirt in my life. But I was like, we can't let him get away.

• 1:56:19Bunnie XO?

  Oh.

• 1:56:20Speaker 03

  I said, you must've got.

• 1:56:20Speaker 01

  And this ain't church.

• 1:56:21Speaker 03

And I was asking, I say, well, I guess.

• 1:56:23Bunnie XO?

So you couldn't hide behind the pulpit?

• 1:56:24Speaker 01

I could hide behind the pulpit.

• 1:56:25Speaker 03

And I was like, are you, you seem like you tall, you got long legs or something, I don't know.

• 1:56:29Speaker 01

I said, yes, I got long legs.

• 1:56:32Bunnie XO?

  I love this.

• 1:56:34Speaker 01

And then, and then we talked, man, for four hours.

• 1:56:37Bunnie XO?

  Aww.

• 1:56:39Speaker 03

And she, we talked, I think we, we talked, you gave me your number. She said, put my number in your phone.

• 1:56:46Speaker 01

And then you sent me the video.

• 1:56:47Speaker 03

That's real talk, Kim. I said, you real proud of yourself, eh? Real talk, Kim.

• 1:56:51Speaker 01

But I knew he'd go find me.

• 1:56:53Speaker 03

And I, no, because I didn't, I didn't worry about social media and stuff. I'm like, I'm, I'm the, I'm the real deal when I go outside of the social media. People that go out, people that's on social media come out, they're not the real deal.

• 1:57:04Bunnie XO?

  Angelo's an OG.

• 1:57:05Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:57:05Bunnie XO?

  Oh, my gosh.

• 1:57:06Speaker 03

I'm the, I'm the real deal in life, person, no matter if it's, I don't care who's who that is. I'mma, I'mma fit in that room. Yeah. And I'mma be the realest one that's in there, no matter what kind of, no matter what they got going on in their life. Their bank account is gone, they not real.

• 1:57:22Bunnie XO?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:57:23Speaker 03

So, I knew, so I, I didn't pay attention to social media.

• 1:57:27Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:57:28Speaker 03

I had a business website that I was only brokering high-end cars.

• 1:57:33Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 1:57:33Speaker 03

I didn't want to play no games, a DM, I didn't know what a DM was.

• 1:57:38Bunnie XO?

So you didn't give them your number, you only gave them your social?

• 1:57:41Speaker 01

I gave him my phone number too. He, he sent me Drew Hill Beauty.

• 1:57:44Bunnie XO?

  Aww.

• 1:57:45Speaker 01

  Before I went to bed.

• 1:57:46Bunnie XO?

  Aww, look at you.

• 1:57:47Speaker 01

And that next morning, he popped on my prayer call and I saw him.

• 1:57:50Speaker 03

  I was like, wow.

• 1:57:51Speaker 01

He found me, real talk, that's why I said, real talk, Kim.

• 1:57:53Speaker 03

Yeah, when I say, real talk, Kim.

• 1:57:54Bunnie XO?

What did you think of when you went on social media?

• 1:57:57Speaker 03

Oh, I was, I got up, I was on her live and I, and I'm like, I'm, I'm hearing people talking. I'm like, man, well, it was the, I think I called it the next day after that. This is kind of trashy, people talking back and forth, disrespectful. And, and I woke up that morning and got on the live, they were saying her nose, I said, man, I told her like that, I love your nose.

• 1:58:23Speaker 01

They're like, your nose is so big, it's in my nose, I like your nose.

• 1:58:27Speaker 03

Love your nose. And I'm, and I'm giving these, so she like, thanks for the hearts. So I'm thinking like, let me give some hearts.

• 1:58:34Bunnie XO?

  Aww.

• 1:58:34Speaker 03

And I didn't, I didn't know that was taking my money.

• 1:58:36Bunnie XO?

  Oh, my God.

• 1:58:37Speaker 03

I didn't know that was taking money out of my bank account.

• 1:58:41Bunnie XO?

He's like, give them back. Give me the hearts back.

• 1:58:44Speaker 03

I'm like, all the hearts and stuff. I'm like, filling all the hearts up and stuff. Like a month later, I'm looking at, man, these things.

• 1:58:50Speaker 01

  That is so funny.

• 1:58:52Speaker 03

Like social media out of Apple. I'm like, I ain't bought anything, you know what I'm like?

• 1:58:58Bunnie XO?

  I love that.

• 1:58:59Speaker 03

I'm like, man, so I don't know if I want to go to her church because these hearts are already getting expensive.

• 1:59:03Bunnie XO?

I already put in offering. This was my offering.

• 1:59:06Speaker 03

I'm like, now, you know you belong, eh, from me.

• 1:59:08Speaker 01

And then he said he showed a friend about a preacher lady, man, and this man said, run, don't you take all your money?

• 1:59:15Speaker 03

To me, it's like me buying her a drink. I don't gave you my heart. She kind of like belonged to me. Now you buy somebody a drink, you know, she like belonged to me.

• 1:59:24Bunnie XO?

I love that. And so it was after that, you guys?

• 1:59:26Speaker 01

He showed up at my church and did not tell me on Sunday, and we were packed. Our church is, God really is blessed, so you can't find places to sit.

• 1:59:35Speaker 03

Well, she really didn't tell me she was a preacher.

• 1:59:39Speaker 01

  I did.

• 1:59:39Speaker 03

  While we were sitting.

• 1:59:41Bunnie XO?

  She said, I did.

• 1:59:42Speaker 03

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, back up, back up. She didn't tell me she was a preacher.

• 1:59:46Speaker 01

  Sorta.

• 1:59:46Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:59:49Speaker 01

I wanted to bless you, man. I was like, he gonna run if he knows I'm a preacher.

• 1:59:54Speaker 03

She just told me, uh, come to her church, you know, her church, she do have.

• 2:00:00Bunnie XO?

Oh, so you thought you were showing up?

• 2:00:02Speaker 03

  Come to my church.

• 2:00:03Bunnie XO?

So you thought you guys were going to be sitting in the pew together? You didn't know that she was going to be the one preaching?

• 2:00:07Speaker 03

I've been invited to a lot of women say, come to my church. It ain't gay church, that's TDJ's church, right? You didn't even say my dad. And some of them, some of them will tell you, my daddy is the preacher.

• 2:00:19Bunnie XO?

  Right, right, right.

• 2:00:20Speaker 03

  So I know I ain't going.

• 2:00:21Bunnie XO?

  Right, right.

• 2:00:22Speaker 03

I ain't dealing with the daddy and the pre- and the church, and he's the pastor. So there's no way. So when I, so I was like, okay, yeah, I'll be there.

• 2:00:30Speaker 01

But he did not tell me.

• 2:00:31Speaker 03

Yeah. So I'm thinking like, she said, well, we got probably two services. I was like, I know I ain't gonna come to all three of them.

• 2:00:37Bunnie XO?

  Or two, or three.

• 2:00:38Speaker 03

  Three services.

• 2:00:39Bunnie XO?

  Especially after the hearts.

• 2:00:40Speaker 03

  Oh, no.

• 2:00:41Bunnie XO?

You're getting, you're getting limited time, honey.

• 2:00:45Speaker 03

So it was something about, you know.

• 2:00:47Speaker 01

  But when you walked in.

• 2:00:49Bunnie XO?

When you walk in and see her preaching, how does that make you feel? Are you like, oh my God?

• 2:00:54Speaker 03

  The church was packed.

• 2:00:56Bunnie XO?

  Wow.

• 2:00:57Speaker 03

Church was packed. Walked in, they greeted me and I always tell the staff that now. I walked in, they greeted me. It was like, man, it's like this church, it seemed like I'm, it seemed like everybody had their eyes on me and stuff. And it's kind of like dark in there too. So you got to think, um, and these girls was behind me and they was like, can you sit down here? It's one of some seats there. So I followed them. Okay. Well, I'm sitting next to them.

• 2:01:23Speaker 01

And he walks up front because we put new seats up here because we were just trying to shove people in. I saw this man walk out, about passed out.

• 2:01:29Speaker 03

They thought they had the best seat and then one of your staff member came.

• 2:01:33Speaker 01

Cause I saw you. I was like, oh no, he gotta move.

• 2:01:36Speaker 03

They came and got me like, put me over here. Like, I guess I'll see y'all the next.

• 2:01:42Bunnie XO?

  I'm going to VIP.

• 2:01:44Speaker 03

  I'm going to VIP.

• 2:01:44Bunnie XO?

He said, I'm going to VIP, baby.

• 2:01:46Speaker 03

I'm over here to the upper room over here.

• 2:01:48Speaker 01

Y'all, my mother reached over to me and she goes, who is that? And I said, I've been talking to him. I met him at a restaurant. And she goes, Kimberly, this is the Super Bowl Sunday of Christianity.

• 2:02:01Speaker 03

  It was Easter.

• 2:02:02Speaker 01

  Don't let him distract you.

• 2:02:05Bunnie XO?

  I love mom.

• 2:02:06Speaker 01

  Oh my gosh.

• 2:02:07Bunnie XO?

  I love mom.

• 2:02:08Speaker 01

She was like, don't you let that man distract you. You gotta give him Jesus.

• 2:02:11Bunnie XO?

And did you give him Jesus?

• 2:02:13Speaker 01

Girl, I gave him J- I probably preached one of my best songs, don't you think?

• 2:02:16Speaker 03

  Oh yeah.

• 2:02:16Speaker 01

  It was like.

• 2:02:17Speaker 03

She haven't even preached no more since then, since I was like.

• 2:02:20Speaker 01

  Are you kidding me?

• 2:02:22Speaker 01

  Know what you said.

• 2:02:25Speaker 01

But I tell you, this man loves, he, he.

• 2:02:28Speaker 03

We gotta go back dating again or something.

• 2:02:31Bunnie XO?

You gotta scare him to just pop up on you.

• 2:02:33Speaker 01

Tell me what I preached that Sunday. Like he.

• 2:02:34Speaker 03

  Yeah, Jesus in the.

• 2:02:36Speaker 01

  Lazarus coming for us.

• 2:02:38Speaker 03

And I just saw her and it seemed like the praise team, the drummer just got louder.

• 2:02:46Speaker 03

  And she had these six.

• 2:02:47Speaker 01

I was jumping out of the tomb.

• 2:02:48Speaker 03

She had these six inch heels jumping out of the.

• 2:02:56Speaker 01

  You liked it, huh?

• 2:03:04Speaker 03

It was so crazy that me and my sister always go

• 2:03:06Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 2:03:07Speaker 03

Go to this restaurant for Easter.

• 2:03:09Bunnie XO?

I love that he's remembering all these like little things.

• 2:03:12Speaker 01

  Me too.

• 2:03:12Bunnie XO?

  That is really sweet.

• 2:03:15Speaker 03

It was so crazy that me and my sister always go for Easter to this dinner.

• 2:03:19Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 2:03:20Speaker 03

And I can't say at the last minute, she called, she said, we still going to dinner? I said, no, I'm gonna think I'm just gonna, I don't want to go. So we, I ate dinner with her and her mom on Easter.

• 2:03:30Speaker 01

  And my son.

• 2:03:31Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:03:32Speaker 01

  Like, was that not crazy?

• 2:03:34Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:03:34Bunnie XO?

And you guys have been together ever since?

• 2:03:35Speaker 03

And now my sister, you know, I don't have time for her anymore.

• 2:03:40Bunnie XO?

You gotta just invite sister to the dinners now.

• 2:03:43Speaker 01

So I would, listen, I remember when he started coming and my mother, me and my mom were driving to church about a week after that. And she said, Kim, I want to tell you something. And I said, what? She said, let this man be him. Don't you try to change this man.

• 2:03:58Bunnie XO?

  Mom loved him.

• 2:04:00Speaker 01

Loved him. She said, don't you let nobody try to make him a preacher? Don't you make him come to your church? If he wants to come, he can't. When he wants to, he can't. But he is, you let this man just see where it goes.

• 2:04:14Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:04:15Speaker 01

And let him be. And I did. And now he's running the church. Three years later.

• 2:04:21Bunnie XO?

Look at you. I love this. I love love and I love happy endings. And for you to be her happy ending, you must be something special.

• 2:04:29Speaker 01

  I'm just so thankful, Bunny.

• 2:04:31Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:04:31Speaker 03

  You know.

• 2:04:32Bunnie XO?

And I'm sure he's thankful for you too.

• 2:04:34Speaker 03

I think the thing is with any guy, he want to know what it look like before he get into it.

• 2:04:40Bunnie XO?

  Right. Yes.

• 2:04:42Speaker 03

And any guys that jump into any marriage, then they gonna keep jumping into marriage. And I was thinking, when I was watching her preach, I would go watch this pastor that I always used to watch. And because this was almost like a year after COVID. And people, took a while for them to start getting back, going into churches. So I would watch her, then I was close out, watched her for a minute. And I always was watching how things was looking.

• 2:05:14Bunnie XO?

  Right.

• 2:05:15Speaker 03

And now kind of, you know, you're looking on the outside, now you're in the inside. So how do you?

• 2:05:20Speaker 01

So he's fixed it all. Everything he thought need to be fixed, he's come in and helped fix it.

• 2:05:24Speaker 03

How do you want to, how do you want to better your church and better your community?

• 2:05:28Bunnie XO?

That's a teammate, though. That's two people that can come together and you can always tell when a couple is good for each other because they evolve and they level up. That's exactly what my husband, sorry, there's hair flying everywhere from my dog. That's exactly what Jay and I have done in the past 10 years that we've been together is literally it's, we don't stay the same each year. We level up.

• 2:05:48Speaker 01

  You have to.

• 2:05:49Bunnie XO?

You have to. That is so important in a relationship because when you stay the same, that's when.

• 2:05:54Speaker 01

And I feel like it's rare.

• 2:05:56Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 2:05:56Speaker 01

I feel like people don't just let their spouses be them. It's like you try to change them.

• 2:06:02Bunnie XO?

No, you can't. You can't do that.

• 2:06:03Speaker 01

You gotta grow together and the only way they're gonna grow is if they feel freedom to do that.

• 2:06:07Bunnie XO?

Absolutely. And you want to be a safe space and you, if you're nagging at a man constantly or if a man is nagging you. Nobody wants to be told that they're doing wrong all the time or that they need to be somebody that they're, they're genuinely not. But when you pour love into that relationship, it just blossoms.

• 2:06:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:06:24Bunnie XO?

Yeah, I'm excited for you guys. Look at you guys now.

• 2:06:28Speaker 01

He told me, hey, he told me whenever we were dating, it was probably what, six, seven months? He said, you need to do something to your hair. And I was like, what do you mean? He was like, you need to get a style. And I'm like, I'm white. White people don't get styles. He says, yes, they do. And I remember one day on my prayer call, I said, Joel, wigs, what do I do? You know, because I mean, this in, in between stage. I found out women are the ones that started wigs. White women are the ones that started wigs and extensions.

• 2:06:56Bunnie XO?

Really? I had no idea about that.

• 2:06:59Speaker 01

  Any, anybody.

• 2:07:00Bunnie XO?

  Wow.

• 2:07:01Speaker 01

And so I went and got me extensions.

• 2:07:04Speaker 01

And glowed up for him. And now I love it. We work out together. I didn't go to a gym till I was fifty.

• 2:07:10Bunnie XO?

He's your best friend. You guys are best friends and that's a huge, huge testament to you guys' relationship.

• 2:07:16Speaker 03

Well, I figure we, we'll change for each other.

• 2:07:18Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 2:07:19Speaker 03

It's certain clothes that I probably never.

• 2:07:22Bunnie XO?

  Yeah. Yeah.

• 2:07:23Speaker 03

Yeah, I would never like to be wearing.

• 2:07:25Bunnie XO?

I love this. I thought when he walked in, I was like, this is something I would wear with heels. Like, I think it's so cute.

• 2:07:29Speaker 03

  Yeah, I would be.

• 2:07:30Speaker 01

I'll send you one of those.

• 2:07:31Bunnie XO?

I love it. I'll pay you for it.

• 2:07:33Speaker 03

I was like, no, I'm not gonna put this on, you know, cuz I was still just old school with it.

• 2:07:37Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:07:37Speaker 03

So I was kinda like, man, now, now when you start feeling it.

• 2:07:41Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:07:41Speaker 03

Then, you know, I kinda just, she'll drip some of it, and now I can drip myself.

• 2:07:45Bunnie XO?

  I love it.

• 2:07:46Speaker 03

She could drip a little, then I drip with her. And then I just kinda, he was working out, so now I introduce her. Went to the gym and she's kinda working out a little bit, too.

• 2:07:55Speaker 01

Girl, I had bat wings. I was like, fat, just saggy.

• 2:07:58Bunnie XO?

Did you do it all natural or did you use GLP-1?

• 2:08:00Speaker 01

  Oh, all natural.

• 2:08:02Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, good for you.

• 2:08:03Speaker 01

But it's been seventy-two pounds over four years.

• 2:08:06Bunnie XO?

Oh, yeah, no, it's a, let me tell you something about fat loss. It is a slow process. And then, nobody tells you about that.

• 2:08:12Speaker 01

And I would do GLP. Look, don't, don't get me wrong, I'm not scared of it.

• 2:08:14Bunnie XO?

I'm about to get on it. I don't even care.

• 2:08:16Speaker 01

I ain't scared of it. I would do it in a heartbeat.

• 2:08:18Bunnie XO?

  Me, too.

• 2:08:19Speaker 01

If I was having trouble, I would do it. So anybody out there struggling, do what you need to do.

• 2:08:23Bunnie XO?

Do what you need to do.

• 2:08:24Speaker 01

Don't let nobody tell you nothing else.

• 2:08:26Bunnie XO?

Angelo, I'm so happy you came and sat down with us. You are so sweet. Kim.

• 2:08:30Speaker 03

  Thank you.

• 2:08:31Bunnie XO?

I have held you for, what, almost three hours?

• 2:08:33Speaker 01

  No.

• 2:08:34Bunnie XO?

Has it been? Two hours, almost two and a half hours that we have been talking?

• 2:08:39Speaker 01

So you all had a bunch of that out?

• 2:08:40Bunnie XO?

I could sit here and talk to you forever.

• 2:08:42Speaker 01

  Really?

• 2:08:43Bunnie XO?

Yeah, I could sit here and talk to you forever.

• 2:08:45Speaker 01

I told, I talked about stuff I ain't talked about.

• 2:08:47Bunnie XO?

I want you to come back, though, because I didn't get to talk to you about everything. Like, I wanna sit down with you and kinda really pick your brain and like, get questions from people. Cuz, you know, there's so many people, I feel like God is making a movement on the world right now.

• 2:08:59Speaker 01

  Big time.

• 2:09:00Bunnie XO?

And I feel like there's so many people out there that wanna change and don't know how.

• 2:09:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:09:05Bunnie XO?

And I think maybe if, maybe we'll come to Atlanta and I'll rent a studio and we'll sit down and I'll just pick your brain and we'll just talk.

• 2:09:11Speaker 01

We could do it in my penthouse.

• 2:09:13Bunnie XO?

  Okay, I would love to.

• 2:09:15Speaker 03

Especially about the elementary stuff. You don't know about half of the stuff happened with you.

• 2:09:18Speaker 01

  But you know.

• 2:09:19Speaker 03

She was shying away from this. I wanted, I kinda wanted to hear it too.

• 2:09:22Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:09:23Speaker 03

It was like, you know, your childhood and.

• 2:09:25Speaker 01

  I know, I don't talk about it.

• 2:09:26Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:09:27Speaker 01

  Cause he.

• 2:09:27Bunnie XO?

I kept trying to pull her in.

• 2:09:29Speaker 01

  You make me feel disrespectful.

• 2:09:30Speaker 03

No, no, no, no, I'm, I'm not disrespectful. It doesn't, you doing a good job.

• 2:09:34Speaker 01

  But maybe there's something there.

• 2:09:35Speaker 03

No, you, you don't, you doing some, when you throwing those daggers like that and so that's what you want. And it ain't really about who you was married to, cause they don't define you.

• 2:09:44Bunnie XO?

  Not at all.

• 2:09:44Speaker 03

When we, when you pulling, when you pull and say, hey, what happened at 10th grade? What happened in the sixth grade?

• 2:09:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:09:50Speaker 03

  What happened?

• 2:09:51Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:09:52Speaker 01

  And I remember.

• 2:09:52Speaker 03

It's a lot of women that's fighting, that's hiding it.

• 2:09:55Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, absolutely.

• 2:09:56Speaker 03

  So there's something there.

• 2:09:57Bunnie XO?

Well, we definitely need a part two.

• 2:09:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:09:59Bunnie XO?

So I'm gonna come out and visit you. Yeah, we'll, we'll come to you guys.

• 2:10:03Speaker 01

  I would love that.

• 2:10:04Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:10:04Speaker 01

And then we can even, because there's so many people looking for God, and I think it was important for us to tell this part, because you can look at my life and see my fruit.

• 2:10:12Bunnie XO?

  Yeah, absolutely.

• 2:10:13Speaker 01

Outlives every lie ever spoken about me.

• 2:10:15Bunnie XO?

  Absolutely, yeah.

• 2:10:15Speaker 01

And that God doesn't write you off. He's waiting for you with arms wide open. He's not a mean God. You and I are proving that to these people.

• 2:10:23Bunnie XO?

  Yes.

• 2:10:23Speaker 03

  Six feet or 10 feet?

• 2:10:24Speaker 01

  And so, what?

• 2:10:25Speaker 03

  Six feet or 10 feet?

• 2:10:26Speaker 01

  For what?

• 2:10:27Speaker 03

Bicycle that you had when you was a kid.

• 2:10:29Speaker 01

Oh, now you're gonna try to be a therapist?

• 2:10:32Bunnie XO?

  Angela, that's for part two.

• 2:10:33Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:10:33Bunnie XO?

We're gonna sit down with you for part two.

• 2:10:37Speaker 01

And I'm gonna get all in it, cause I do skip over it. I'm gonna be, I'm gonna be praying about it.

• 2:10:40Bunnie XO?

Yeah, no, pray about it and when you're ready, let's talk about it. Cause it's my job to talk, to try to pull it out of you, but it's also your job to talk about it when you're ready. And nobody can force you to talk about stuff you don't wanna talk about.

• 2:10:52Speaker 01

Really, oh, I'm not, I'm definitely not afraid to talk about it. I think I just, you're right. I think there was just so much that I, so I would definitely talk about it.

• 2:11:00Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:11:00Speaker 01

It could have been, it could even have been when we came out of United Pentecost and it was a trigger, because all of a sudden we could do everything that we were told we couldn't do.

• 2:11:07Bunnie XO?

  Yeah.

• 2:11:08Speaker 01

And then 250 people walked out of our church.

• 2:11:10Bunnie XO?

  Mm-hmm.

• 2:11:11Speaker 01

And so, that probably was where I just.

• 2:11:15Bunnie XO?

Well, I mean, I feel like when you're under a thumb and under a microscope at such a young age also, you get to a point where you just don't, it's de-gaff. You do not give a, and you're just like, let's fucking, let's roll. I'm ready to do whatever I wasn't allowed to do and what I was told not to do. So I think you did what every child who has ever had religious trauma did. But the cool thing about it is you were able to pull yourself out of it. And look at you now, you've written seven books.

• 2:11:42Speaker 01

And my babies work for, I've got two sons, they work in church with me.

• 2:11:46Bunnie XO?

  I mean, that's amazing.

• 2:11:47Speaker 01

Like, everything that should have been horrible, God turned it around and He'll do it for everybody.

• 2:11:52Bunnie XO?

Tell everybody where they can find you, if they want to go to your church, if you have any online stuff that people can watch every Sunday, stuff like that, just shout it all out.

• 2:12:01Speaker 01
