What's poppin', congregation? It's your girl, Lacey Mosley, AKA Scam Goddess, back with another installment of the comedy podcast all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we hate them, but we will never blame the victims here, okay? Period. Congregation, you already know I'm what? Yes, excited, elated, thrilled, okay? Olé, you could even say.

• 1:42Laci Mosley?

Because our guest is brand new to the congregation, so please get up and give them a welcoming handshake and a hello. You've previously seen them in the sequel to Spinal Tap, Spinal Tap 2, The Flight Attendant on HBO, which is a personal favorite of mine. That show ran my blood pressure up. Marvel's She-Hulk, and season five of You With Pen Badgley, who we love. And they've recently moved to Madrid two years ago and will be appearing in a Spanish series in Madrid called...

• 2:12Speaker 03

  Miranda compulsiva.

• 2:14Laci Mosley?

Con Miranda compulsiva. And they're currently writing a screenplay about their life there in Spain. So there's so much more that you can see of Griffin Matthews. Yes, Griffin, thank you so much for being here.

• 2:28Speaker 03

  Mina, your Spanish is incredible.

• 2:30Laci Mosley?

  Oh.

• 2:30Speaker 03

  Increíble.

• 2:31Laci Mosley?

Estaría bien, Mina. If I get in a real conversation, it's gonna be hella like despacio, despacio.

• 2:38Speaker 03

  Exacto. Despacito.

• 2:42Laci Mosley?

Literally me, literally slower, slower, okay? Como se dice cucumber, okay? Let's.

• 2:50Speaker 03

  Cucumber.

• 2:51Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 2:51Speaker 03

  Exacto.

• 2:52Laci Mosley?

That's why you have a pepino, no? Cucumber? You just put some extra Rs on it. We do that in Mexico, okay?

• 2:57Speaker 03

You put some soul on to it. I get it, I'm there.

• 3:00Laci Mosley?

We don't say coche, we say caro. You know, like.

• 3:03Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 3:04Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 3:04Speaker 03

Do you know, you know Latino Spanish?

• 3:07Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 3:08Speaker 03

  Latin Spanish?

• 3:08Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 3:09Speaker 03

  Muy bien.

• 3:10Laci Mosley?

Which is different, obviously, from the Spanish, or, you know, Spanish, your Spanish. But you know. Now, I have a question. What, Griffin, what's your relationship with scams? Like, have you seen any new scams in Spain? How did you, like, did you know Spanish before you went to Spain? Like?

• 3:26Speaker 03

No, I arrived to Spanish with hola, gracias, and Taco Bell. Like, I had nothing. I really knew nothing. But I wanted to get out of America because I just thought, we're not gonna do this again. We're just not, he won, my visa was stamped, I was on a plane, literally, the next day.

• 3:44Laci Mosley?

  I know, that's right.

• 3:44Speaker 03

And I said, you know, I think it's time to end this scam and go over to Spain. And I came on a student visa. I was here to study Spanish for a year. And about six months into my Spanish classes, which by the way, were five days a week, four hours a day. Brutal. It was terrible. All of my classmates were like, it was a crash course. All of my classmates were like nineteen-year-old Moroccans on their third language. It was, so they were calling me abuelo, which means grandfather. So, but we got an email one day that school was canceled for the day, which was thrilling to me, I was elated. And then the following day, it said, "School is out of money, we are bankrupt, that's it.

• 4:29Speaker 03

No more school." I was like, okay, no problem. I was thrilled. I don't have to do this anymore. But I now needed to go get my money back for the rest of the year.

• 4:39Laci Mosley?

Cause they said school is canceled forever.

• 4:41Speaker 03

  Forever.

• 4:42Laci Mosley?

  Like, so the school.

• 4:43Speaker 03

  Para siempre.

• 4:45Laci Mosley?

Cause you're supposed to graduate the school.

• 4:47Speaker 03

  Para siempre.

• 4:48Laci Mosley?

Para siempre. You're supposed, you're supposed to graduate the school. The school's like, we graduating you. Like, you, instead of you leaving, we leaving you.

• 4:57Speaker 03

They divorced us and, and took our money. Ran the police. We had to like file a police report because we also needed documents from the school saying that we had quote unquote, completed the course. Because when you go to file your next set of visa papers, you gotta show that you went to school.

• 5:12Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 5:12Speaker 03

It was like I had never done, I had done six months and I had no proof that I had actually gone to school in Spain. So my visa paperwork had been, basically, it became a little bit of a nightmare. I've survived, but it was not cute.

• 5:27Laci Mosley?

So this mess, this could potentially mess with your, like, immigration status. This is like more, even more serious. Like, I'm kind of laughing at the school, like, leaving you and being like, bye, thank you, thank you guys so much. You guys are so sick. You got it.

• 5:41Speaker 03

  No. Gracias, gracias por todo.

• 5:44Laci Mosley?

We're gonna release you like the mariposas that you are, the butterflies that you are. You're finished.

• 5:50Speaker 03

  Si.

• 5:50Laci Mosley?

You don't need no more. But it's actually not a, as funny as it seems because your, your immigration status, like, otherwise you gotta come back to the ghetto over here. I don't want that.

• 5:59Speaker 03

It was, I have had some very, very tough months in the last year trying to get a different visa. It's gone so far. I've applied for three different visas and I have been denied three times.

• 6:13Laci Mosley?

  Oh, wow.

• 6:14Speaker 03

Which is insane because I'm coming with all the paperwork. I'm coming with all the lawyers and I, three times. And then Spain passed a law for all those who are considered quote unquote illegal immigrants.

• 6:28Speaker 03

That they had three months to get a visa, like to come forward, state your status and get your visa. One point two million people came forward. I was one of those one point two million people.

• 6:40Laci Mosley?

  Oh, wow.

• 6:40Speaker 03

And I had to file as an illegal immigrant because my visa got denied three times after my student visa was basically ended. So.

• 6:51Laci Mosley?

And see, I love that you're telling this.

• 6:53Speaker 03

For the rest of my, babe.

• 6:54Laci Mosley?

Because everyone wants to, people hear illegal immigrant in this country and you know how it is just a dog whistle, you know, for so much bigotry. But like this could happen in America. It does happen in America. It happens everywhere. We're like to no fault of your own. Your Spanish school decides to, they, they leave him. Uh, yes, if when.

• 7:12Speaker 03

They left me. They broke up. Mm-hmm.

• 7:15Laci Mosley?

Now, I'm sorry, but the least they could have did was gave out a little diploma.

• 7:20Speaker 03

They could have given the, they could have said, we're, we're bankrupt. You have a week to come get your documents. They took off, babe. They just left. It was over. It was bye-bye. Adios.

• 7:31Laci Mosley?

That is terrific. Cause that's what's bothering me. Cause I'm like, y'all, okay, take my money. I don't, I don't like what you're doing. But like, and you didn't give me at least half of the education.

• 7:39Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 7:40Laci Mosley?

And you said it was rigorous. It was four hours and everything. But at the same time, like damn, if y'all gonna run off, like they could have just left y'all with a little signed document. That's not right.

• 7:49Speaker 03

That's it. And we, we didn't. And I have, I have a tremendous amount of respect for immigrants of all types in all places. Because I'm also here with my children. Um, I, I have created an entire life in Spain and to become illegal has been insane. Like you cannot exit the country because you're worried that you can't get back into the country. My children are going to school here. I have a house here. It was just like all of a sudden, everything got, it, it, it actually came very serious. And so I am now waiting for the documents to hopefully get this immigrant status visa that is, you know.

• 8:31Laci Mosley?

I'm praying for you. My fingers are crossed, my toes are crossed. Do you, was there anything in the school at the time that kind of seems like, huh, maybe they're losing money or like, oh, we don't got no pencils today or like, oh, like was there anything that was kind of giving? Donde está la lápiz?

• 8:50Speaker 03

  They ran out of pencils.

• 8:50Laci Mosley?

Donde está la biblioteca? But like, for real, where is it? The biblioteca is gone.

• 8:55Speaker 03

Where is the library? You know what's with, now that we're talking about this? Because, yes, there were some signs, but there were also some like, odd things. So the teachers were going in and out, like, someone would come in, get fired, go out. One of our teachers got fired in the middle of, you know, like, literally, almost like, kind of the day. He went on for lunch break, came back and said, "I've been fired." So like, it was, that was the start of me going, "What's going on?" Another teacher came, then another teacher left, we were getting, you know, switched around.

• 9:22Laci Mosley?

Like a revolving door of like...

• 9:24Speaker 03

The revolving door of teachers should have been the first sign. The second sign is they were taking anybody, at any time. Like, we're in the middle of our course, and in comes a girl from Russia, in comes a girl from China, and you're just like, "Okay, but we've been here since day one, she's starting now." Like, how does, how is she gonna catch up on what we've already...

• 9:42Laci Mosley?

That's like, starting like, one of those little kids' swim classes, like, the last week, where they're gonna like, throw you in the pool with all your clothes on. Like, I feel like you gotta start...

• 9:49Speaker 03

Maybe, and then take it off.

• 9:50Laci Mosley?

Doing the bubbles in the beginning, like, not like, throwing me in the deep end.

• 9:54Speaker 03

Side of pool, kicking feet, that's where you need to start. We were start, like, people were just coming in and out, new students, all the time. And I think that, now looking back, they were just taking people's money. They were like, "Let's get this cash." So that, but here comes a really, it just dawned on me, the school was also doing renovations. When you said donde está la biblioteca, I was like, they were renovating the cafeteria, the books area, the library area. How, is that where the money went? Is that where the money?

• 10:26Laci Mosley?

But then, why would they renovate something that they work on stage?

• 10:30Speaker 03

Well, why were they renovating if they had no money? Let's get through it.

• 10:33Laci Mosley?

Was this laundering? Was this laundaria?

• 10:36Speaker 03

It has occurred to me that it was very possible. My lawyer sent me to a woman who only spoke Russian. And the Russian woman did my documents. And listen, I'm not throwing Russia under the bus, I'm just saying, a Russian lady sent me the document. You, why, why not? Let's just throw them under the bus. They sent me documents in Russia that I had to get translated to understand how to get into the school. I don't know where the money went, it don't matter to me, I never got my documents.

• 11:05Laci Mosley?

So it's also, I've kind of heard of some third-party things where they'll get involved to help Americans get into a school in another country, and they tend to be a little shady sometimes.

• 11:14Speaker 03

It didn't register at the time, but right now you're saying it and I'm scared. I think that's what happened. I think Russia took the money and ran.

• 11:22Laci Mosley?

I'm gonna have to agree. Yes, so the Russia of it all actually is not that surprising to me because it's also like convenient for us. It's like people who are not familiar with the country to have like someone who's supposed to be guiding us, helping us.

• 11:39Speaker 03

It's very much an immigrant story, the things that I have seen and learned. I the scams that I have seen even from living here and looking back at America and being like, we're being scammed as well as Americans. The things that I have seen, the things that I have learned.

• 11:55Laci Mosley?

I love that you're giving this immigrant story from the perspective of an American moving somewhere else too. Because I feel like whenever I hear, other than just like personal friends and family of mine who are immigrants. And then it's much more real, but I feel like if I'm ever hearing about like someone, you know, moving to a different country in America. It's always like, we came over with three dollars and and and a stick with a with a bandana on it. It's like, it's always the most intense like, it's so it's it's like a modern immigration I like to hear about as well.

• 12:33Speaker 03

Yeah, because I stopped calling myself an expat because at first you come with all the privilege of feeling like I'm an expat. And then it became very real to me that I was not an expat, I was an immigrant. And I I I had to learn a new culture, a new language. I didn't know what was happening. You literally don't know what's happening. You find yourself like, I remember living in New York and you go into a laundromat and there was like, an Asian woman in a laundromat running it and she was just like, yes, yes, yes.

• 13:02Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 13:02Speaker 03

And I I am that lady now. I am the Asian lady in the laundromat going, see, see, see, see, see, see, see. I don't know what they're saying. I don't know what's happening. And so much of my life here feels, while it's amazing, it is also disorienting because, of course, I am funnier in English, I am smarter in English and in Spanish. Spanish, I'm like, yo soy simpático. That's it. I am nice. You just find that you can't express yourself. And then when things are really going down, our school closing, you you can't, you cannot communicate the things that you want. There is no nuance in your language. You were just, you know, hanging on by a thread.

• 13:44Laci Mosley?

Griffith, luckily you have another scam up your sleeve, like you're a attractive man, incredibly attractive. So now's the time for you to lean into being hot. Sorry. It was fun when you were like smart in English, but now now you're just a Spaniard hot dummy. And for now, in a few more months, you'll probably be waxing poetic.

• 14:07Speaker 03

Listen, I wanna be Sofia Vargas in España. I was like, oh, it occurred to me somewhere in the journey, all of a sudden, I I'd never thought about it, but I have the accent. So when they see me, the way that Spanish men approach me is very different than American. They think I'm cute. Oh, que suave. My skin, I have no hair. They're all very hairy and beards and mustaches. And I have nothing. And they're like, oh, que suave, oh. And it's just a different way of even seeing myself in the world and being like, I think I lived both in New York and L A in this industry where we're always trying to chase beauty. And I never quite felt so beautiful. I felt like, I'm okay. I think I work.

• 14:52Speaker 03

And here, people, the the word that they use is guapo.

• 14:56Laci Mosley?

Oh, yeah, que guapo, guapísimo. Yes.

• 15:00Speaker 03

  Joder, sí. So, yes.

• 15:02Laci Mosley?

I love this for you. And I love this for me. Have you noticed like?

• 15:08Speaker 03

And I love this for me.

• 15:10Laci Mosley?

  For me.

• 15:11Speaker 03

You're in L A. You come here and then you will really love it.

• 15:14Laci Mosley?

I know, that's it's it's on my stop list next. So I lived in Ireland for eight months and then I, you know, I've lived in the U K. And then I've I've gone to France enough. Um.

• 15:25Speaker 03

That's enough with friends. We're done with friends.

• 15:26Laci Mosley?

  We're done with friends.

• 15:27Speaker 03

  It's okay.

• 15:28Laci Mosley?

They know how I feel, but we've, you know, we've been enough. But yeah, I want to, Spain is definitely up next. I want to do that this year. Uh, but like, do you notice any like scammy differences between like Spain and like America? I mean, obviously we know that America is a scam. It was built on scams like that. I mean, it's literally like, they started on like by stealing people. And then we became a superpower by producing two thirds of the world's cotton from the stolen people. Uh, you know what I mean? It's like, we've never been, we've never really been legit. Uh, which is why it's so strange that this was the 250th year of America. And it's like, what are we really celebrating? And then people want to be like, when, when it was good. And I'm like, when was it good?

• 16:08Speaker 03

  Dime.

• 16:09Laci Mosley?

  Dime.

• 16:09Speaker 03

When was it good? Yeah. Quando. When. No, I know. It's, you know, the thing about living here is like, I, today, like, it's summer vacation and I have two kids. They want to go to McDonald's. I have not eaten McDonald's in 20 years. Literally, whatever is in McDonald's in America rips me to shreds.

• 16:28Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 16:29Speaker 03

It is nada. Here, I can eat McDonald's breakfast, lunch and dinner at 2 a.m. Have no problems. My stomach medication, done. I don't need to use it. The minute I step foot in New York City or L.A., even if I'm eating organic, Whole Foods, Arowh, my stomach still starts going. And so like, I can eat anything in, in Spain. And I think like, you know, may, maybe the healthcare thing is wild to feel like. Medicine doesn't cost.

• 16:59Laci Mosley?

  What did you say again?

• 17:00Speaker 03

  Anything.

• 17:01Laci Mosley?

He, he, health care? Was that a Spanish word? He, he, health care? Health care?

• 17:07Speaker 03

  He, he, he, health care.

• 17:09Laci Mosley?

  He, he, care?

• 17:09Speaker 03

  He, he, care.

• 17:10Laci Mosley?

  Okay.

• 17:11Speaker 03

  He, he, care.

• 17:12Laci Mosley?

He, he, care. Okay. I've heard of he, he, care.

• 17:15Speaker 03

Hell's care in in America, it's called Hellcare.

• 17:19Laci Mosley?

  Right, it's called Hellcare.

• 17:21Speaker 03

  Hell, baby.

• 17:23Laci Mosley?

We're gonna put you through hell and we don't care.

• 17:25Speaker 03

They put you through hell. They put you through hell. Like, listen, I'm not trying to romanticize Spain. There's a lot of things, but like my son is getting his tonsils out this summer and I asked the doctor like, how much is it gonna cost? Bracing for he's eight, he's gotta stay overnight and then another day, they want him there for a day. By the way, I got my tonsils out maybe five years ago. They go, you go in and get the fuck out. Like, they want, I was in so much pain, I was basically dying. They said, get in, get out. They sent me home on so much drugs, so many drugs. Here, they're like, no, no, no, he's gonna stay for a whole day. We wanna observe. I said, what is that bill going to be? Just give it to me. And they were like, what do you mean?

• 18:06Laci Mosley?

  What is this bill?

• 18:07Speaker 03

They didn't understand the question. What's the bill? Like, give it to me. What is the number I will then pay?

• 18:12Laci Mosley?

Cause I need the bill first so that I can fight with the company because I know y'all gonna add extra like hundred fifty dollar Band-Aid fees and shit, so I gotta start fighting y'all. And then, and they're like, what?

• 18:22Speaker 03

I wanted the bill because I wanted to know if I was gonna pull the tonsils out myself. I was like, say the wrong number and I'm going in. So, the number was zero. The number was zero. Bring him in, we'll take the tonsils out and then, you know, after twenty four hours, go home and we'll observe, come back for, it it's wild. People are, you know, posting GoFundMe campaigns for heart attacks, aneurysms, cancer in the States. It's weird now to look at it from over here and see people like meeting three hundred thousand dollars, three hundred thou- my Spanish friends are like, what is happening in America? Like, what what is that? And I'm like, babe, it's a scam.

• 19:03Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 19:03Speaker 03

  It's a scam.

• 19:04Laci Mosley?

And it's, we slowly, we are, you know, we've been the frogs in the boiling water for a long time now and everybody knows it, so I try not to harp too much on it. But, you know, even with the GoFundMe thing, like, that has become like overcrowded to where like, you gotta have a good story. Like, if if you if you got an illness, like, bro, we need to see that you can pay like my bro. Like, we need to know, like, if, if we give you lives, if we pay for this, for this treatment, that you really go get out here and do something with your life. We can't be paying all this money for you to sit on your couch. We got other people's insurance to fund. And it's like, what are we doing?

• 19:41Speaker 03

Listen, you have to have a movie on GoFundMe that really moves people. You're wrong for Bob Ross, by the way. That white man in the Afro.

• 19:49Laci Mosley?

  He was talented.

• 19:50Speaker 03

  You're wrong for him.

• 19:50Laci Mosley?

I'm just saying, that's the kind of talent you need to have so we can make sure we're not, you know, giving our money. What you, you go use the money to play, uh, video games and be on 4chan? With them, why are we, why are we helping you get that new kidney? If you're not gonna be out here, you know, saving the world with it.

• 20:06Speaker 03

  Yeah, like, it's very real.

• 20:09Laci Mosley?

Trying to help decide who lives or dies. Like, ugh.

• 20:13Speaker 03

Th- this is, it's, it's, this is a very massive scam. And again, I have had the privilege of exiting America and looking at it. You get, once you leave, you get a different vantage point of your country. And some of the things that I've seen since I've been here, basic healthcare, they call it human rights.

• 20:34Laci Mosley?

  That's crazy.

• 20:34Speaker 03

Everyone in August will leave Spain. Everybody. People go on vacation. It's like, uh, it's, we're done. Spain is basically shut down. Certainly Madrid. And, and I'm like, how can everyone go on vacation for a month? And they said, it's called human rights. It's human right. When I tell them, like, you're in America, you're lucky if you get the two weeks. Sometimes it's unpaid. They're like, two weeks? It's nuts. They get like eight weeks of vacation a year. And so like,

• 21:02Laci Mosley?

And somehow the country still functions. That's why I'm just like, we've all been convinced.

• 21:06Speaker 03

  Somehow it's functioning.

• 21:06Laci Mosley?

Like, I don't, I can't believe we're trying to get back on the hamster wheel after COVID. Cause after everybody was sitting in their houses, you know, for however long, or maybe you weren't at all. Uh, but just seeing that that was possible. Everyone was like, wait a minute. That's why the government was like, we gotta get people back, cause they're gonna, they're gonna realize.

• 21:23Speaker 03

  Get them back.

• 21:24Laci Mosley?

  They're gonna realize.

• 21:25Speaker 03

Well, our country is built on capitalism. And like, here it is illegal to text your employees after work. You cannot send them a text after work. If they could report you, like 7pm. It's like you cannot text anybody. And so, and they don't text you back. By the way, they don't text you back. And so like, I think that's part of it is like just realizing where our humanity lies and our human rights. I think it's like, you know, we have been scammed into capitalism and

• 21:55Laci Mosley?

I feel like we, if so many of the people who are really like yanking us down in America traveled, I feel like they would be completely different people.

• 22:06Speaker 03

What's the, the passport? It's like eighty percent of Americans don't have a passport. It's something, it's like a very, very

• 22:11Laci Mosley?

  Passports are very liberal leaning.

• 22:14Speaker 03

Exacto. And so I think the people that say I, they can't imagine that we could have free school, free healthcare, daycare, things. It's because you've never seen it. They think America's gonna crumble if that all happens. And I'm like, no, no, no. It, you would want everyone to go to college. Everyone, think about how we voted. The people that went to college, think about those numbers and how they voted versus people that did not go to higher education. How they voted. They want you to not know. They don't want you to know. And so when you're here and you see they're like, Spanish people are very involved in world politics. They are watching America. They are also watching Germany. They are watching Israel. They are wa-

• 22:57Laci Mosley?

We too busy to be a geo- geopolitically involved. Now, am I? Yes. Okay. Can I tell you all about the Sermor who's, can I tell you all about, you know, the Guts Strip? Can I tell you all about? Yes. But the average American, they, they barely know what's going on. They don't know locally. And they barely know nationally.

• 23:14Speaker 03

Chasing money. They're chasing money. We are chasing money. I am chasing, I've been a part of it. I'm not trying to separate myself from it. But we are a capitalistic society and it keeps people on a hamster wheel for sure, myself included. Like I was fully on that hamster wheel. And sometimes even for me, like it's hard because the pace of Spain is so much slower, even though Madrid is a major metropolitan city. It is so slow. When you wanna get something done, so slow. When people are walking, they are walking so slow. They don't move. When they're, you're coming on the sidewalk, they're not moving. They're just talking. Old ladies are standing in the middle of the sidewalk, not moving, and they're not going to.

• 23:55Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 23:55Speaker 03

And it takes my system, I think it took my system like six months to like really start to go, oh, maybe we should walk a little slower, maybe we should not answer work texts after seven P M. Maybe we should like sit and have dinner together and have four hour long dinners. It's normal, normal. By the way, a glass of wine is four euros here.

• 24:16Laci Mosley?

  Wow.

• 24:17Speaker 03

  A cerveza, three.

• 24:20Laci Mosley?

  Wow.

• 24:20Speaker 03

That is why people sit on the plaza and drink and eat because, and also when you get a glass of wine, they bring you a little tapa with it, that you can't just feed someone, you can't just give someone alcohol and not give them a little snack. So I say, when I tell people like a glass of wine in New York can be easily twenty dollars. They're like, what? Como? Como que?

• 24:40Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 24:40Speaker 03

  Like scam.

• 24:42Laci Mosley?

And you're not getting nothing to eat, okay? Bars don't even need, they used to do bar, bars used to have olives, nuts, they used to have all that. And now it's like, you gotta be at the fanciest, we gotta be at King Cole to get a, get a, bust a grape at a damn bar. So I'm with you on that for sure. And I had to learn the patience thing when I was living in, uh, well, London, but really in Ireland, because I was in Ireland much longer than I lived in London. And just like going places and being like, can I get this? And they'd be like, yeah, that'll be thirty minutes. I'm like, thirty minutes? I asked you for four baking chicken cheeses. You got six minutes.

• 25:16Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 25:17Laci Mosley?

You want me to come back there? Like my energy was very like, oh, move bitch, ah, ah. And then eventually I let it take over me and let it wash out. I was like, okay, yeah, thirty minutes, all I have is time. What am I gonna do, die?

• 25:29Speaker 03

  You're not.

• 25:30Laci Mosley?

I'll go jump into the sea, I'll be right back.

• 25:33Speaker 03

You're not gonna die. Go jump in the sea, they're gonna go back there and actually like kill the pig back there, like.

• 25:38Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 25:39Speaker 03

I have ordered dinner. It's going to be fresh and so, you know.

• 25:44Laci Mosley?

You're like, en mode guerre, son? And the next thing you hear is like, ah.

• 25:49Speaker 03

Baby. Yes, yes, so, you know, but that's the trade off.

I'm Alyssa Jelton, and in my new podcast, What Happened to Her?, I'm bringing you new stories and conversations every week. Stories about women whose deaths were too quickly ruled a suicide.

• 27:08Speaker 05

She was starting to get worried and get scared for her safety.

• 27:14Speaker 04

  Stories of survival.

• 27:16Speaker 01

The only difference between me and her, frankly, was a little bit of luck because by all rights, I should be dead.

• 27:23Speaker 04

Cases that everyone else called closed.

• 27:26Speaker 05

They can't convict her, right? Like, she has so much evidence.

• 27:30Speaker 04

These stories all start in the same place, with a woman failed by a system that didn't believe her, that didn't protect her, that didn't see her. No child should ever experience that. And we were babies.

• 27:42Speaker 05

She did all of these brave things and came out and spoke about it, and he got a year.

Well, speaking of American excess, let's get into our historic hoodwink here. Today, I will be regaling Griffin with a famous caper con group of criminals. Maybe we like them, maybe we hate them, we'll see along the way. And keeping it real American and excessive, we're gonna be talking about a fake Cartier heiress, Andrea Bartzen, who fell in love with a fake oil baron, Matthew Rockefeller. And together, they teamed up to crash the parties of actually rich fam, like, the actual rich family dynasties. So this is Andrea Bartzen. Andrea moved to New York in the late 90s

• 28:45Laci Mosley?

as a single gal in her 30s from Ohio. Okay, Ohio.

• 28:52Speaker 03

  Go ahead, Ohio.

• 28:53Laci Mosley?

And we see her right here.

• 28:54Speaker 03

Hello Pittsburgh, my neighbor, yes. She's giving very Ohio.

• 28:57Laci Mosley?

  Right.

• 28:58Speaker 03

Are those seashells around her net?

• 29:00Laci Mosley?

  Wait, are you from Pittsburgh?

• 29:01Speaker 03

  I'm from Pittsburgh.

• 29:02Laci Mosley?

  I went to Pitt, babes.

• 29:04Speaker 03

I went to Carnegie Mellon, babe.

• 29:06Laci Mosley?

Oh, so we just, I scammed into Carnegie Mellon for my voice lessons, babes.

• 29:11Speaker 03

  Good for you, yes, yes.

• 29:14Laci Mosley?

No, oh my God, we were right there, that's crazy. Oh my gosh.

• 29:18Speaker 03

  Wow.

• 29:18Laci Mosley?

Oh, so you know about the O, you know about Oakland, you know about wow.

• 29:22Speaker 03

  I know about the O.

• 29:22Laci Mosley?

West Oakland, that's a different Oakland, but we could claim them both. But I digress, we will talk about that at some point. But, um, so Andrea here, she's seen her Tiffany blue, she's got her, uh, rich white lady, uh, chunk necklace on. I feel like that's all I see in a chunk necklace. It's either like a kindergarten teacher or like a rich white lady who like, I don't know, like her friend has a jewelry line and she like paid six grand for the chunk.

• 29:51Speaker 03

Is it a chunk or a conch? What is it?

• 29:54Laci Mosley?

I'm saying it's like chunky. It's like the chunky.

• 29:57Speaker 03

Oh, a chunk. I was like the shells?

• 30:00Laci Mosley?

  Oh, like a conch?

• 30:01Speaker 03

No. A conch. I said, oh, what?

• 30:04Laci Mosley?

You think I sound like the kids on Love Idol, like I can't read good?

• 30:08Speaker 03

I thought you were being extra black, just for the chunk. I said, okay, she's got a chunk on. I'll go with it.

• 30:14Laci Mosley?

No, but that does also work. So I see your context here, because it's definitely a puka shell on here. It's like oyster. I mean, a oyster, oh my god. It's a pearl or two.

• 30:24Speaker 03

Uh huh. A clam, a pearl. I don't know what that is. A starfish?

• 30:28Laci Mosley?

Right. It's given like, yeah, we, after Red Lobster was done with it, we spruced it up. But it's just, I don't know. It's just like a necklace I only see on a certain type of like woman.

• 30:39Speaker 03

  I agree.

• 30:40Laci Mosley?

So, um, but here she is, you know, she's got her little champagne flute. That's definitely like she had somebody's event where they were passing around flutes. We love this for her. So she moved from Ohio in the late nineties. So it's giving Carrie Bradshaw era of New York City, where the girls wore heels places and, you know, had apartments that were rent controlled. Must be nice.

• 31:03Speaker 03

I didn't, I didn't have that era. I never lived that era. My apartment was not rent controlled, babe.

• 31:07Laci Mosley?

Same. And I lived in one of those rigidified areas that was expensive as fuck, uh, Bedwick?

• 31:14Speaker 03

  Word.

• 31:15Laci Mosley?

Best I do or die slash Bushwick?

• 31:17Speaker 03

  Yes. Yeah.

• 31:19Laci Mosley?

And they were calling it Bedwick, so you know how it is. Um, but anyways, so soon she like met a boyfriend that she moved in with, and he, uh, worked in finance, living together in an apartment that was almost in the West Village. So it was almost like, West Village is fancy. Not that it was West Village adjacent. After they broke up, she claimed to work in pharmaceutical advertising. So that's what she was doing now. She said she had gone to MIT and that she worked in biotech. Now, remember, she's from Ohio.

• 31:48Speaker 03

  Yes. Not bio, Ohio.

• 31:51Laci Mosley?

Ohio. But now she's saying that she worked at MIT, or like she went to MIT, which is, I don't see anything here about that actually happening. Or, like you said, anything in biotech. Ohio, not bio. That was beautiful, Griffin.

• 32:05Speaker 03

  Ohio tech.

• 32:06Laci Mosley?

It took me a second. It took me a second. That was really beautiful. I love that for me. So she would commute from the office to get drinks on the Upper East Side, or like the occasional charity benefit, which looks like she's at one of those now. That flute is giving like, we're here to raise awareness.

• 32:23Speaker 03

  That's it. It's giving that.

• 32:24Laci Mosley?

Like, I don't know what we need to be aware of, but we're here to raise it. And by the end of the night.

• 32:32Laci Mosley?

We're gonna have about fifteen hundred awarenesses.

• 32:35Speaker 03

Yeah, we're gonna raise the awarenesses. Uh huh, with the chong chong.

• 32:40Laci Mosley?

And everyone's always like, why don't you just donate to the cause with all this money that you're doing through this gala? And they're like, no, no, no, no, we need the party for the awarenesses.

• 32:49Speaker 03

  That's it. Correct.

• 32:51Laci Mosley?

So, um, she's like getting drinks on the Upper East Side, doing these benefits. She was always friendly and chatty and always offered to buy people a drink at these parties. But she actually couldn't hold down a job and had no money. So she was teepane. They was like, I'mma buy you a drink.

• 33:12Speaker 03

Uh huh. With what? With what? On what? I'm already confused. How are you buying drinks with no money?

• 33:18Laci Mosley?

  I ain't got no money.

• 33:21Speaker 03

You help me, cuz I would like to buy drinks with no money. Help me.

• 33:25Laci Mosley?

Well, it just say offer. So maybe she was just a round. What if she was doing this, like where she got her one drinker, or maybe picked up somebody's when they walked away? And then she comes over and she's like, next round's on me.

• 33:38Speaker 03

That is not her flute. She found that. What's in her hand is not hers.

• 33:42Laci Mosley?

  It is drank down.

• 33:44Speaker 03

Over there. It's drank down. It might even be water, babe. I'm not sure what that is.

• 33:49Laci Mosley?

So in 2014, she was so desperate for money, that I don't like how they said she was desperate for money. Like, I don't think, that's like being like she was so desperate for oxygen. Like, I think money is something you need to live.

• 34:02Speaker 03

You do need it. I need it.

• 34:04Laci Mosley?

But I guess because she didn't have any of it at all. The desperation was higher. So for, uh, so she's desperate for this money that she took a housekeeping job from Anna Rothschild, a celebrity publicist she'd met through her charity networking. Anna paid Andrea twenty dollars an hour to unpack boxes and tidy up her new apartment. They lost touch until 2019 when Andrea came to Anna for help again. She said. Anna, I ain't got a job again. I don't got no money and I don't have a place to live. And I used to be your maid in Manhattan.

• 34:42Speaker 03

  Work. Is that Jennifer Lopez?

• 34:45Laci Mosley?

  Yes, that was.

• 34:46Speaker 03

  Work, I like that.

• 34:47Laci Mosley?

It was one of her marriage movies, you know, she had a lot of marriage movies.

• 34:51Speaker 03

  And in real life, too.

• 34:53Laci Mosley?

Yes. Art imitating life imitating art.

• 34:57Speaker 03

  Art.

• 34:58Laci Mosley?

So Anna had an empty London apartment that she was trying to sell. Andrea could stay there for free as long as she left the unit empty for showings. A few weeks later, Anna's real estate agent called from London and said Andrea was hanging out with no underwear on when he arrived for a showing and she wouldn't leave. Four months later, she was still living there, keeping it from being sold. And Anna had to show up personally to kick her out. So Andrea said, hey, you can live in my London apartment, absolutely free, just make sure you're leaving it cute for the showings. And Andrea said, okay, cool, I'mma walk around with my booty out.

• 35:39Laci Mosley?

And then when potential buyers come, I'm not putting my booty away and I'm not leaving.

• 35:45Speaker 03

I'm so confused by this story. What's, she's squatting, is that what's going on?

• 35:49Laci Mosley?

So she used to work for Anna Rothschild in New York.

• 35:53Speaker 03

  I got it.

• 35:54Laci Mosley?

  Where she was cleaning, right?

• 35:56Speaker 03

Yeah, I got it. But she just decided she was gonna be in the apartment booty naked and just refusing to leave? That's called squatting.

• 36:04Laci Mosley?

That's not making sense to you, Griffin.

• 36:06Speaker 03

That part, I'm following the story.

• 36:08Laci Mosley?

You've never just squatted in somebody's apartment and they hung out booty naked there? Cause that's.

• 36:13Speaker 03

  I have.

• 36:14Laci Mosley?

That feels like a normal thing to do.

• 36:16Speaker 03

In New York, I've squatted, one hundred percent, totally squatted. But when they told me to get out, I got out. There is a difference. I did know to get out.

• 36:23Laci Mosley?

You put your clothes back on and you got out?

• 36:25Speaker 03

You've gotta put the clothes on to get out. That's, you, you've gotta do that part. That's part of squatting, I suppose, in New York. Cause they'll just kill you if you don't get out. That's the whole thing.

• 36:35Laci Mosley?

Oh damn, okay, yeah, I guess I, I guess I have to throw on my bra at that point and put it away and then get out. Okay, that's fair. Right, you're right, I got more class than that, you're right.

• 36:46Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 36:47Laci Mosley?

Like, so at this point Anna's pissed, right? She had to go kick her out personally, you know, put her, strap her bra on herself and boot her out the door. So Anna cut her off at this point, but even without a home or a car Andrea kept popping up at yacht and cocktail parties in the Hamptons wearing bodycon dresses. So here's Andrea. She just looks like a white woman who is rich, because you know, like you, there's two types, if it's like the Hamptons like party scene in the summertime, you have like the young, thin model types who are like youth and they ain't got no money, and then you have like women like her who they look like they're coming from like old family money or.

• 37:32Speaker 03

She's giving, she's giving Dalton Abby, she's been there, she has the money, she, it's been deep into the family, it's a terrible outfit by the way. What, I don't know what this is, I'm looking really.

• 37:43Laci Mosley?

Can we like zoom in a little bit, because I'm like, are these shorts, is this a romper? Is it, is there a belt on it?

• 37:53Speaker 03

Well, the triangular is confusing me, is it, I, it could be like, it looks like a scarf. You know, sometimes when people do scarves and then they have a top, but it's going very low, so I don't know what this is, but it's not for me personally.

• 38:08Laci Mosley?

It could be designer, I, I don't know.

• 38:12Speaker 03

Or knockoff, it could be designer, it could be knockoff, the jacket I like, but everything else I'm not into.

• 38:18Laci Mosley?

And she's really dancing it up, she on the little, uh, little stripper pole of the thing.

• 38:24Speaker 03

She, but I, in all fairness, in this photo, she's really, she is giving it, she's eating down, like she, if you, you believe that this lady has money, I would. I would believe, this is, she says I'm a producer, you're like, hello, hello?

• 38:37Laci Mosley?

I think she's just married to somebody and has been for, that's what it gives to me is like, you know, she married them before they got the money, so they can't really leave her either if they're trying to do a new model. So she's still turning up, right? And wearing these bodyguard dresses. In the winter of 2022, a Pilates instructor to the stars agreed to rent a studio apartment in the Rony Palace in Miami Beach from Andrea, who said that she was the owner. So Andrea is now hopping and bopping around Miami and she's like, "Hey, uh, Pilates instructor to the stars, I have a place that you could rent out, cuz real estate is my passion." So this person agreed, this Pilates instructor agreed in the winter of 2022 to rent out this apartment.

• 39:23Laci Mosley?

But Andrea started showing up at odd hours. One night, the Pilates instructor returned home and Andrea was asleep in the bed with a candle burning in the closet. She woke up and said, "Don't blow it out. I'm doing a spell."

• 39:39Speaker 03

Now this is mental health. Now, now the story has shifted.

• 39:43Laci Mosley?

  Yeah, it's giving a little minty B. It's giving a little minty B.

• 39:47Speaker 03

Giving a little bit, okay, personality disorder, possession, you know, the exorcism.

• 39:54Laci Mosley?

The nudity in the last place.

• 39:56Speaker 03

It's giving unhinged is what it's giving.

• 39:59Laci Mosley?

So the next morning, the Pilates instructor went to the management office to find out why her landlord was acting weird. And they told her the real owner was Andrea B., an Italian man with the same first and last initial as Andrea Bartson, who's the scammer. So Andrea, the scammer, just happened to know the door code for the building because she had been a subletter there before. So she did not own the apartment that she was renting out to the Pilates instructor. She just had a door code. So that's why she was like, "Oh, do you wanna rent this place out from me, the landlord? Also, I'm gonna be living in here too and burning candles in your closet. Don't worry about that."

• 40:41Speaker 03

Lacey, this is exhausting. Like, I'm already, the twists and turns. I'm like, who has the time for this? Who has the time for this? I'm so busy. Who has the time, you know, on door codes and, and finding people with your same initials? This is exhaust, I'm exhausted for her.

• 40:59Laci Mosley?

Scamming is a profession. This is not, people think it's for lazy. It's the same thing that people think with sex work. I'm like, babes, these are jobs. Like, they, like, I couldn't imagine, like, starting up, like, a OnlyFans or something in this economy currently. Because you can't just get on there and show a nip. You have to market yourself. You have to really be under people's comments on X. You gotta really be on Instagram and TikTok, get it, drive them people. I couldn't imagine being like, I put my cha-chas on the internet and I ain't get no likes. I used to think that was like an automatic, easy job. No, it's not. You gotta promote, honey.

• 41:37Speaker 03

I love that every actor has thought about OnlyFans. In the last year, we've all been like, are we going to the pole? Are we going to OnlyFans? Where are we going? Because it's real, but you're right. I actually have friends here in Spain who are, they do OnlyFans and they're like, the amount of work. But I do that. They can be like eight hours, not just filming. It is everything else.

• 41:59Laci Mosley?

I have friends here who do it. It's like the content, the collabs, the this, the that. I'm like, yeah, no. These are all jobs. That's why I don't like when people fantasize about somebody's life because they think it looks easy. I'm like, scamming is a profession. You gotta get up every day and really think about crime. It's crime time.

• 42:16Speaker 03

  It's crime time, yes.

• 42:17Laci Mosley?

Yes, everyone know when you wake up. That's your alarm. Crime time. So I know you're tired, but we're still going. Now we're gonna get to the Hamptons, Griffin. We're getting to the Hamptons. Don't worry.

• 42:27Speaker 03

  There's more, there's more.

• 42:29Laci Mosley?

So we're getting back to like the Hamptons party circuit. Andrea left Miami and returned to crashing charity galas, restaurants, and designer boutique events in New York and Palm Beach. So it's giving Trumpy. She would come in like late after the organizers had stopped checking people in or wait outside until she saw someone she knew. Admissions to these events would sometimes cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Andrea slipped in for free and jumped into pictures with rich and famous attendees before they could say no. So not only is she like, this are good strategies because like they don't check the list all night and everything.

• 43:07Laci Mosley?

And I know that from like back in the day, when I first moved to LA, I went to a few Emmys parties where I wasn't really uh on the list. I mean, obviously now I'm gonna go to things I invited to.

• 43:18Speaker 03

You did it this year. Don't say back in the day. You're pulling on your hair. You're pulling on your, back in the day. It's not back in the day. It was back last week.

• 43:29Laci Mosley?

I can't get invited to stuff now.

• 43:31Speaker 03

  I don't.

• 43:32Laci Mosley?

I don't get invited to everything. I don't get invited to everything now, but the stuff that I do get invited to. But I don't go just like, if they not asking me no more. Now if they might know. Now they might be like, hey, I believe she was trying to sneak in here. Like back then they didn't know, nobody knew.

• 43:49Speaker 03

  No, they didn't. No.

• 43:50Laci Mosley?

Yeah. And now they still like, they still don't really know for real. For I can get away with some stuff, but not everything.

• 43:58Speaker 03

When, when you're doing it, you're pulling your hair and go, I think I'm on the list. It's such black girl behavior. Pulling on that hair.

• 44:05Laci Mosley?

You don't even, like the more convincing, you try to seem, the less likely you're gonna get it. All you gotta do is just walk up to people and be like, I left my purse. And keep walking. Or, or sometimes I'll say nothing, walk in with a group of people and just keep walking like you belong there. Like, yeah, there's definitely, but you gotta do it like towards the end of the function. If it's the beginning, like it's too many people checking in for everything. Yeah.

• 44:26Speaker 03

I like, I left my purse. I do like that. I feel like that's very convincing. It's like, who's gonna fight you on that?

• 44:33Laci Mosley?

Like you're supposed to be there, then like, you can't, you can't look crazy. You can't, you can't look too excited to be there. Or nervous. You have to look like this is the nastiest place you've ever been in your life. You have to look like, I cannot believe I have to crawl into the fucking dumpster right now to get my purse back. Ugh, Emmys.

• 44:50Speaker 03

You've really thought about this. You've really, you've got a whole system going.

• 44:54Laci Mosley?

I'm not doing this no more, Griffin. Okay?

• 44:57Speaker 03

Griffin, I'm not doing it no more, McChrystian.

• 44:59Laci Mosley?

  I'm delivered.

• 45:03Laci Mosley?

  Gosh.

• 45:04Speaker 03

You're teaching me. I'm taking notes. I'm like, wow, I need to be doing this. I didn't do enough. I didn't work hard enough.

• 45:09Laci Mosley?

Right. So she had, she had a good little, you know, scheme going on here.

• 45:14Speaker 03

  Good for her.

• 45:14Laci Mosley?

So, um, and I love that she was getting these pictures too, because you know, some of these pictures will be like images that'll be in like whatever local magazines or websites or blogs that they all check. So now she's established legitimately because she's just hopping the picture real quick. They're like, one, two, she's like, three.

• 45:31Speaker 03

  Three.

• 45:32Laci Mosley?

And they're like, who is this lady? Like, what are you gonna do? We're already in the picture. So one person who ran into her at a famous Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, which I, I know the Colony Hotel. She said that, um, she basically came to my table and ate the rest of my lunch. I hadn't finished. Okay, I'm kind of woo with her right now.

• 45:53Speaker 03

I love her. I love her. I love her. She's doing the most. Like, it's really, this entire story is making me feel like I'm not doing enough. Like, wow, I'm not doing it. Like, good for her.

• 46:05Laci Mosley?

But you know when, you know, when somebody does something so ludicrous that you just kind of freeze? And you're like, what is happening? I feel like that's how she was getting away with this stuff. Like, she's sitting there like, girl, so good to see you. Oh, you're not gonna eat that all your, oh, oh, oh, my gosh, girl. So how you been? And you're just sitting there like, uh.

• 46:26Speaker 03

I'm such a Capricorn. I think I have too much, you know, resistance for looking desperate. And so like, I want to know what her sign is. I'm like, what's the sign of the, this is like, what is this sign? This is chaos. We need to Google her birthday. Google that.

• 46:40Laci Mosley?

We do. We do need to know her birthday. Joe, if we could get her birthday, I would love to know her birthday. I don't know. I'm gonna guess Sagittarius.

• 46:49Speaker 03

This could, this could be Sagittarius behavior because they're wild and it could be.

• 46:53Laci Mosley?

I feel like they just be doing anything and they love to like hop around and, and, and, you know, be traveling and doing anything. I feel, I don't know. Let's see.

• 47:03Speaker 03

It's Sagittarius or maybe Aquarius. Maybe.

• 47:07Laci Mosley?

Oh, I could see Aquarius too. Oh, I could definitely see Aquarius. Wild as hell. Okay. I want to see which one of us is right. Hopefully, one of us is.

• 47:17Laci Mosley?

So in the summer of twenty fourteen, um, Anna spotted Andrea. So this is Anna again. This is Anna who gave Andrea the opportunity. The with the, who gave her the first like job cleaning the apartment and then let her squat in London where she was getting booty naked and refusing to leave the premises. And so now Anna has spotted her in the summer of twenty two, uh, twenty twenty four. She saw Andrea pacing in front of the VIP entrance to the annual Polo Hamptons. She later got inside somehow. So you know, this is the the Hamptons Polo Party, like this is popping, like this is like a celebrity event. You might see your Zendayas there, um, they're whites or they're whatever, right?

• 47:59Laci Mosley?

So so Andrea knows where all these events are, knows what time they're taking place, has these addresses. And so now she's just pacing in front of VIP and somehow she gets into this party. That summer, she was kicked out of two Hamptons parties, an animal charity fundraiser she snuck into, and a cancer benefit where she pretended to have bought a ticket.

• 48:24Speaker 03

You're getting kicked out of raising money for animals and cancer. That's how far you that you know you've gone too far at that point.

• 48:31Laci Mosley?

Think those would be like the nicest people throwing parties, like the animal lovers and the people. But you know, like some, some cancer charities run a very strict program, like Susan G. Komen. Oh, you don't fuck with that pink, honey. Okay, you will get a cease and desist for them titties. For each titty, Susan don't play.

• 48:53Laci Mosley?

Play, they said, we are the cure, bitch. Don't, don't try to, you, you, you ain't racing for the cure, walking for the cure, running for the cure, thinking about the cure. We, that's all us.

• 49:01Speaker 03

You don't have the cure. If you're not doing those things, then you don't have the cure.

• 49:06Laci Mosley?

You gonna need a cure after we whoop your ass, so you better stay away from our branding.

• 49:11Speaker 03

You're unhinged, you're unwell and unhinged. You've been doing too many of these podcasts. This is not good for you. Let this be your last. Let this be your last.

• 49:22Laci Mosley?

This is mine, I've been doing this for six years.

• 49:25Speaker 03

And it shows, you know, you're like, you got the care, you raised for the care, you think about the care. You're amazing.

• 49:32Laci Mosley?

Oh my goodness, Griffin, you're amazing. I do, I do feel called out with the hair stroking now. I'm like, is this my tab? But I'm like, no, I'm really not sneaking into, I think I'm not, I think I'm not sneaking into parties anymore. I'm pretty sure, I would put some percentages on it.

• 50:50Speaker 04

I'm Melissa Jelton, and in my new podcast, What Happened to Her? I'm bringing you new stories and conversations every week. Stories about women whose deaths were too quickly ruled a suicide.

• 51:02Speaker 05

She was starting to get worried and get scared for her safety.

• 51:08Speaker 04

  Stories of survival.

• 51:10Speaker 01

The only difference between me and her, frankly, was a little bit of luck. Because by all rights, I should be dead.

• 51:17Speaker 04

Cases that everyone else called closed. They can't convict her, right? Like... She has so much evidence. These stories all start in the same place, with a woman failed by a system that didn't believe her, that didn't protect her, that didn't see her. No child should ever experience that.

• 51:35Speaker 05

And we were babies. She did all of these brave things and came out and spoke about it, and he got a year.

• 51:42Speaker 06

You never know who that devil is because he's wearing a disguise. Sometimes it's a police uniform.

• 51:48Speaker 04

Listen to What Happened to Her on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

• 51:58Laci Mosley?

So she's getting kicked out, but she says, "Still I rise." Okay, "Still I scam, still I get invited."

• 52:04Speaker 03

Out of the huts of history, shame, I rise.

• 52:07Laci Mosley?

Right. Also, when you don't have any shame, you really can't stop somebody like that because what do they have to lose?

• 52:14Speaker 03

Zero. I wish I could be like that. I really do. This whole story is like, it's inspiring me. I'm like, I need to have less shame. I'm working through too much shame, too much, you know what I mean? Like, I want to be able to do these things.

• 52:27Laci Mosley?

I'm looking for normal things, like things that I'm like, "Oh, I hope it wasn't awkward at that party," or "Oh, I sent a text and like, I hope that wasn't like too nice." And now that I... You know, it's like normal things, where like, these people are just like, "Oh yeah, I ate the food off that person's plate, and then I saw them again when I was getting escorted out at a puppy event."

• 52:47Speaker 03

  It's amazing. It's amazing.

• 52:48Laci Mosley?

And don't give a damn. I kind of love that.

• 52:51Speaker 03

  I love it.

• 52:52Laci Mosley?

So she didn't care, right? She kept grinding on the scam. And she started planning the first big event of her own, which she called Global Passion Project.

• 53:05Speaker 03

Oh God, this photo. What is this photo?

• 53:08Laci Mosley?

This is a jump scare because...

• 53:11Speaker 03

  This is a jump scare.

• 53:13Laci Mosley?

Like, if Jerky was a man, like, if you were to make your own venison, and then it like, it gains sentience.

• 53:24Speaker 03

I want to talk to your team. Who put this photo? This was a jump scare. This was a horror. Now it's a horror podcast.

• 53:30Laci Mosley?

It is. I'm sorry we did this to you, Griffin. I'm so sorry we did this to you because we're right now, we're looking at RFK. First of all, this is one of the biggest things that's always disturbed me about RFK's presentation of health and wellness is that he's doing something that literally scared me from going to like join a 24 hour fitness. Like my first in L.A. I had 24 hour fitness coin. I walked through one of them and I saw a man working out in jeans and I was like, I absolutely could never work out here. Like that is the biggest like red flag. Like I'm gonna get murdered in the parking lot at this establishment. Like, why are you working out in jeans, sir? Like, what's happening? RFK's wearing jeans and a belt.

• 54:10Speaker 03

  A jeans and a belt?

• 54:12Laci Mosley?

  He's in a sauna.

• 54:14Speaker 03

He's in a sauna. He's sure there's so many things wrong with this photo, but and also what is that bike? Is that one of the ones that you pull? I don't know what I'm looking at.

• 54:21Laci Mosley?

And why is there a man doing pushups in swim trunks behind him?

• 54:26Speaker 03

It's one of his cabinet members. I don't know who that person is. I don't want to be in that room. That's a room you don't want to be in.

• 54:33Laci Mosley?

I just don't know how your life gets there to where you're doing pushups in a sauna with RFK Jr. While he's on a stationary bike in jeans with a tight ass belt. Like, what did, what choices did you make that got you here?

• 54:46Speaker 03

I want to know who the creative director was for this. Who decided this was the photo? Continue.

• 54:51Laci Mosley?

Like, who is this for? Who is gonna look at RFK Jr. And be like, yeah, that's the picture of good health. Like, give me that. Run me that body.

• 55:02Speaker 03

For me, it's a no. For me, it's a no.

• 55:05Laci Mosley?

Oh, my goodness. So she called this her, her charity event that she was gonna have. It's her first big event of her own. She's having Global Passion Project, which I don't know what any of those words are supposed to mean together. What's the, what's the project? How is it global?

• 55:25Speaker 03

Global pa- what is it global?

• 55:28Laci Mosley?

  Global Passion Project.

• 55:32Speaker 03

All words that mean nothing. String them together. String them together and what does it mean? I don't know. I don't know.

• 55:38Laci Mosley?

  World's Awareness Movement.

• 55:44Speaker 03

String it together. That's the name of the party. I love it. I love it.

• 55:48Laci Mosley?

So Andrea was hoping to attract family offices, the private wealth management firms where the rich run their personal fortunes, to her Hamptons event. Family offices can be easy targets for scammers, especially if it's a hundred million dollar wealth fund managed by a failed son from a business dynasty, who, you know, doesn't know what he's doing. So basically saying like, these rich kids are now running their parents' like huge businesses and, and financial portfolios and funds. And it's kind of like secession where you just got a bunch of like coke heads running the, you know, the business and being like, motherfucker! Murder!

• 56:30Speaker 03

And winning, and winning awards for it. Yes. Winning all the awards. Yes. The Emmys that you snuck into. Yes. I love it.

• 56:37Laci Mosley?

See, you didn't have to do that, Griffin.

• 56:39Speaker 03

I feel, I feel harmed because I wish you would have taken me. I, I think you and I could have done some real damage in L.A. I'm sad we're just meeting now.

• 56:49Laci Mosley?

I'm sad that I'm meeting you and you're across the world. Because we're supposed to be together. There's things that we're supposed to be doing. That face part, like this, this regalness you have, like, the talents. Oh babe.

• 57:01Speaker 03

You're fast. You're very fast. I don't, I'm usually fast. I think you're faster. And that's, I'm like, I want to be next to her at the Emmy.

• 57:10Laci Mosley?

You got me a couple times. In this episode, I had to like hear it back real quick. Like, and I love that. I love that for me. Like, I'll be so honest, like, sometimes like guests come on the show, I get a little nervous and like, oh lord, is that gonna be him? And then we start chatting, I was like, yes! Yes! In my head. So love it. Well, so, speaking of fast, as, you know, as- We as we quickly approached the end of Andrea's shenanigans in a in a little bit here. Andrea's plan was to bring together family office investors with executives and doctors. I'm put doctors in heavy quotes because why are these people doctors? Uh, from RFK Junior's Make America Healthy Again campaign. Because you know how it was so like again be killing me.

• 57:53Laci Mosley?

This is like, this is the best our healthcare has ever been and it's still horrible. Like, like, what are you talking about? The 50s when all the wives were at home being abused on Quelus? Like, where, where, where are these healthy again things? Okay, so she teamed up with another Hampton socialite named Rolise.

• 58:13Speaker 03

I love the name Rolise. I'm just, well, I'll be Rolise. Who you gonna be? I'll be Rolise. That would be who I would be.

• 58:28Speaker 03

No, you're the lead. You are the lead and I come in halfway through the film and I'm like, my name Rolise.

• 58:37Speaker 03

And I live in the Hamptons. My name Rolise.

• 58:40Laci Mosley?

And Rolise had experience planning these events. So Griffin, as Rolise, you have experience planning these events. Rolise rented Andrea a room in her house while they were planning the event and they agreed to split the proceeds 50 50. So what, so you're having an event, you're splitting proceeds. So the event is not for any charity. The event is just for y'all to.

• 59:01Laci Mosley?

Y'all are throwing a house party.

• 59:03Speaker 03

Confused. You're throwing a house party. Your throwing will be did in Brooklyn many times.

• 59:07Laci Mosley?

Right, but you're putting a fake ass name on a global passion project, which you haven't called it a charity, but the name would assume. It makes you assume it is a charity. But they said we go a house party.

• 59:20Speaker 03

  My name's Rolise. Keep going.

• 59:22Laci Mosley?

So Rolise noticed a lot of unexpected guests in the house. And found Andrea was renting out the other side of her already rented bed.

• 59:32Laci Mosley?

So Andrea was renting the bed that she, so she got, so she has rented a bedroom for Rolise. One bedroom. And then she was like, how can I run a little profit? So she said, let me rent out, Andrea said, let me rent out half the bed.

• 59:49Speaker 03

Listen, she's a woman, she's a working girl, babe. She's working, she's what, you said it, she's working. Who does that?

• 59:57Laci Mosley?

So you want the left side? Cause you can have the left side for uh.

• 1:00:01Speaker 03

The left or the right, you decide.

• 1:00:03Laci Mosley?

For twelve hundred dollars a month, you got the left.

• 1:00:06Speaker 03

  This is a wild story.

• 1:00:07Laci Mosley?

Don't want the extra fifty, I'll flip the pillow before you, so it's cool when you get home.

• 1:00:12Speaker 03

Whatever you want, left or right, who does this? This is an insane person.

• 1:00:17Laci Mosley?

Does this? So Andrea promised caviar, oysters and sushi along with dishes from two private chefs for the six hour event hosted at a fashion executive's house. She charged sponsors between seven thousand and thirty thousand dollars to cover the spread. But when the attendees arrived, they found there was tequila, but no food. So unlike in España where y'all have your services and your tapas, they had tequila and no food. And one speaker at the event compared it to the Fire Festival.

• 1:00:51Speaker 03

Wow, yes, I saw that documentary on Netflix.

• 1:00:55Laci Mosley?

Oh, you know, I saw the Hulu, the Netflix, or anything they had, I ain't know.

• 1:00:59Speaker 03

Wherever it was, I saw it.

• 1:01:01Laci Mosley?

Oh, they have multiple, yes. So Rolise, now Griffin, Rolise is disappointed right now because she thinks that Andrea collected about a hundred thousand dollars from the event, but she didn't split it. She took everything and moved out of Rolise's house. Later that year, Andrea added a new middle name to her LinkedIn profile, Cartier. So.

• 1:01:23Speaker 03

I thought you were gonna say Cardi B. I didn't know what, after Rolise, I didn't know what you were gonna say. Cartier.

• 1:01:28Laci Mosley?

I mean, at some point she might get, so we're talking about Cartier the jewelry, but at one point she might get to Cardi B the rapper, the way that she's moving, she's, she's working very quickly.

• 1:01:37Speaker 03

I just wanna know where she is. Where is this lady?

• 1:01:40Laci Mosley?

Trash for throwing this event and being like, you know what, I'm just gonna give them tequila. And I bet you whoever, like, however she got the tequila, they, it was a sponsor who was like, we'll give you the tequila physically as a sponsorship. It's probably the only reason they had tequila. Cause if they had gave her money for tequila, she would've took that too.

• 1:01:58Speaker 03

No, they gave her product. They gave her product. She picked it up, put it in the back of her car and drove somebody else's car and drove it to the event and unpacked it herself. And whoever was renting out the second half of her bed helped unpack it. Like, she's, she's professional.

• 1:02:12Laci Mosley?

She really is. She got in and out of there. So this is where she's gonna meet Mr. Rockefeller. So she met Matthew Rockefeller on Facebook. I, y'all really be meeting people on Facebook, which is very wild to me. Like, how do y'all do that and why? And when are you gonna stop? It's never happened to me. I'm like, y'all, let me know if you have a happy love life from your Facebook connection, cuz how?

• 1:02:35Speaker 03

  Please. Cuz how?

• 1:02:38Laci Mosley?

So they became inseparable, hanging out at every event in Palm Beach and talking about getting married. Matthew signed on as a partner to global passion projects. Now, this is the thing that's taking off.

• 1:02:51Speaker 03

The tequila event? He signed on for it?

• 1:02:54Laci Mosley?

He signed on for it cuz it's global. It's passion.

• 1:02:58Speaker 03

  It's a project.

• 1:02:59Laci Mosley?

And it's a project. And so his name gave it some legitimacy cuz he's a Rockefeller, right? He told investors that he ran the philanthropy arm of the oil baron family. So he said he runs the philanthropy arm of the Rockefellers, right? Now, mind you, what did I tell you in the very beginning, Griffin? This man is not a Rockefeller.

• 1:03:19Speaker 03

The amount of twists and turns. It's Game of Thrones. Right now, it's just like, wait, any Game of Thrones? I don't know what's happening. So many games are being played.

• 1:03:29Laci Mosley?

Some of the names are too close together. It's giving me like Viserys the third is sixth of his name. And also Viserys, the cousin of Aegon, Aegon the fifth and, and the ninety-third. Yeah, it's, it gets to be too much. Like, everybody need to have their own name. So in reality, you know, he's Mark Wayne Tomasco, and he's from New York, Pennsyl- I'm sorry, he's from York, Pennsylvania, where his mother was a hospice nurse. His dad worked for a trucking company in the early 2000s. So then he moved to New York City to be an actor. He kinda looks like he could have been on Desperate Housewives. He look like a bootleg Orson.

• 1:04:04Speaker 03

Uh, he looks like a theater actor, actually. He just looks like, you know, he went to a uh, school and studied and eyebrows are a little weird. He could be a killer. He looks, I mean, I'd cast him. I think you'd cast him. No?

• 1:04:19Laci Mosley?

  He's quite tall.

• 1:04:20Speaker 03

  He's giving tall.

• 1:04:21Laci Mosley?

A lot of male actors are that tall.

• 1:04:24Speaker 03

He's giving, yeah. He looks like he could be a nice guy or a killer. One of those.

• 1:04:28Laci Mosley?

Oh, yeah, definitely a killer for sure, for sure. He would be on Dick Wolf's program in a heartbeat.

• 1:04:33Speaker 03

Bingo. That's what I'm saying. He's chung chung.

• 1:04:36Laci Mosley?

He's giving chung chung. And so he was trying to be an actor in um, the early two thousands, he moved to New York City, right? So he went to a conservatory, but he dropped out. Unfortunately, uh, it's not like your case, Griffin. Like, he left the conservatory. The, the school didn't leave him. Like, your school left you. No, he left them.

• 1:05:00Speaker 03

  No money, no diploma.

• 1:05:02Laci Mosley?

Oh, so for many years he went by Matt Wayne. That kind of gives like porn to me, but okay. The celebrities. The celebrity magician. In twenty twenty-three, he changed his social media names to Matthew W. Rockefeller. So he realized Matt Wayne wasn't getting him nowhere. And magician, definitely not. Oh, my gosh. One time I dated somebody. I don't dated this too, that's too locked in. Like, we went on some dates. And I took them to a party and I turned around and they was doing magic tricks. And I was just like, I have to leave. Like, I have to get in my car immediately and go.

• 1:05:39Speaker 03

Were the tricks good or they were not good?

• 1:05:41Laci Mosley?

  No.

• 1:05:42Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:05:43Laci Mosley?

It was like follow the ball, but the ball was like falling out and like, and it was, and it was like, yeah, it was.

• 1:05:51Speaker 03

  Was it him?

• 1:05:54Laci Mosley?

It was Matt Wayne. See, but I didn't, I didn't know, because he was, he was Matt Rockefeller. No.

• 1:06:00Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 1:06:01Laci Mosley?

So I could just, I I I'm glad he switched from magician, but we didn't have to go straight to Rockefeller. But why not? You know what? So in late 2024, Matthew invited two entrepreneurs to Rockefeller Center to discuss partnering for a global passion projects. Remember, that's our thing, right? They want to do an event on a yacht now. And at Miami Hedge Fund Week. So the week where all the people who siphon the money from our economy doing illegal shit get together in one place. Why have we never thought about when they get together in one place? That's all I'm saying, guys. That's all I said.

• 1:06:35Speaker 03

Ching ching. That was a lot of words. That was ching ching.

• 1:06:39Laci Mosley?

Right. And then this is like the next scene is like they're at the harbor. You're like.

• 1:06:43Speaker 03

  See, exacto.

So the entrepreneurs showed up to the meeting expecting to be taken upstairs to a conference room of offices at Rockefeller Capital Management. Instead, Rockefeller, this is our Matthew, our fake Rockefeller, in a full suit, took them into the Equinox on the ground floor and sat in the Jim's Cafe area. The entrepreneurs agreed to co-host the event at the Mansion Yacht Club on the condition that they would not be responsible for any cost. The venue owners had agreed to host about thirty of investors aboard the yacht for free, but freaked out when Andrea showed up with. Okay, so they said three thirty thirty, right? They said we'll host thirty for, we'll host thirty people for free.

• 1:07:26Laci Mosley?

Cause you brought us to the Equinox Cafe to talk, so we don't know if you're really about that coin. So, but we'll give you, on the name alone, we'll give you thirty people to host at the yacht club, right? So.

• 1:07:43Laci Mosley?

They freaked out when Andrea showed up with three hundred people.

• 1:07:47Speaker 03

  I'm gonna die.

• 1:07:49Laci Mosley?

You know how thirty become three hundred?

• 1:07:51Speaker 03

How? How how does that happen? And why? How and why?

• 1:07:56Laci Mosley?

No, it's just a natural, like when they say thirty for free and you're like, so three hundred for me? Is that what you said?

• 1:08:02Speaker 03

Yeah, it's nuts. It is, these are, these are lunatics. Now we're into lunacy.

• 1:08:07Laci Mosley?

Also, I feel like there's a pattern here that we have to acknowledge about Andrea. Andrea keeps like getting an invitation to something herself and then finding a way to bring more people in.

• 1:08:21Speaker 03

Maybe if she brings in more people, it's a distraction from her.

• 1:08:25Laci Mosley?

But I mean, like, she was saying she's a landlord of the apartment. Then she brings herself into sleep in the apartment and light candles in it. She was saying like, oh, I'm gonna stay with, uh, what was her name? Ro- Lisa? Rolise? Rolise?

• 1:08:39Speaker 03

  Rolise, that's me.

• 1:08:40Laci Mosley?

Rolise, that's you. I'm sorry, I won't forget your name, Rolise. That Rolise was like, you can stay in my place. She was like, great, I'm a rent half of the bed. Like, she keeps taking it a step further with the people. Like, they said, you could come with thirty. She said, okay, perfect. I'll be with three hundred people.

• 1:08:55Speaker 03

Yeah. This is nuts. She's a lunatic.

• 1:08:58Laci Mosley?

The managers asked her for fifteen thousand dollars before anyone could get on the boat. Andrea and Matthew both got upset that she would ask a Cartier or a Rockefeller to pay up front like this. Like, what are we, black? Oh!

• 1:09:14Laci Mosley?

But they didn't offer to put the money up. Eventually, the manager received fifteen thousand dollars in the form of a check, wire transfer, and Zelle from three different people, none of whom were named Rockefeller or Andrea's last name, Bartzen. The sponsors lost their money on the event and no invested, like, investing, like, ended up happening. So she somehow finessed three people out of five thousand dollars so they could pay for this boat ride.

• 1:09:42Speaker 03

  I love her. And she's a lunatic.

• 1:09:45Laci Mosley?

She is a loony, and I'm kind of like, in love with it. It's, it's really not, you know, we're kind of getting into the end of her, like, shenanigans, because she, she shenanigans once, and then she shenanigans again, and she just gonna keep on shenanading and shenanading.

• 1:09:58Speaker 03

  It's my favorite phrase, shenanigan.

• 1:10:01Laci Mosley?

Right? I don't think that this lady will stop. And so far, it doesn't seem like anybody's pressed charges against her. But, oh, the people who lost money to her scamming are, for the most part, very rich, right? And they're too embarrassed to try to get that money back, which is why it's pretty easy, if you can get into the right social circles, to scam rich people, because nobody wants to admit that they're a fool. And also, the way that those, you know, really high salute and high net worth, old blue money circles work is like, they keep it really difficult for newcomers to...

• 1:10:36Speaker 03

  Infiltrate.

• 1:10:37Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:38Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:10:38Laci Mosley?

  It's very incestuous.

• 1:10:40Speaker 03

  Yes, I get that.

• 1:10:42Laci Mosley?

Which I can't imagine because you know, like, these are like the, some of the nastiest old school rich families and they're all like, like the Rock, Rockstars used to in-breed to keep the money in the family. So it's like, well, these people don't look.

• 1:10:54Speaker 03

  True?

• 1:10:54Laci Mosley?

Yes, so these people don't look good. Like, you know, like, they look strange.

• 1:11:01Speaker 03

They look British. Oh, God, all the British were gonna come after me. They look British. No, ah.

• 1:11:07Laci Mosley?

You know what I mean? We mean like the, like the monarchy. They look like the monarchy.

• 1:11:11Speaker 03

  Those, those ones.

• 1:11:12Laci Mosley?

Notch out every day on the street. Not, yeah, not your regulars.

• 1:11:15Speaker 03

No, I've seen some very cute ones.

• 1:11:17Laci Mosley?

Yes. So Andrea and Matthew kept making the rounds. They were going to the Miami Beach parties as the Cartier Rockefeller couple in 2025. Maybe we're suspicious of them. Matthew had a "soft handshake" in quotes and often wore flapper-era newsboy caps as if he were cosplaying John D. Rockefeller on the way to the golf course. Um, he was almost always in a suit, even for video calls. Andrea's highlight, highlighting spacing looked like a $200 hair treatment, not the $600 treatment you would expect for a Cartier. Like, so her, like, her, they were saying her highlights, her, wasn't given. And she carried a fake Birkin bag. What do you think about these actor choices?

• 1:12:02Laci Mosley?

Like, Matthew went full, like, I'm gonna dress like I am John D. Rockefeller in the early, like, 1900.

• 1:12:11Speaker 03

Maybe it's a smart way to go because then people really do think you have money. Because you know those rich people that like have money.

• 1:12:18Laci Mosley?

  25. You know now the rich flex is like wearing a $6,000 white tee that looks like nothing, you know?

• 1:12:26Speaker 03

Why has nobody called this in? I just wanna know who's gonna take him down. Please tell me someone takes him down.

• 1:12:32Laci Mosley?

Well, we're getting to, hopefully, was, I don't know, question mark. We'll see if it's the end of their charade. But yeah, they, I love that they're clocking her chunky hair light, or hair lights, highlights. And also that he was literally out here like, "It's me, Matthew Rockefeller." Like, using his, like, you know, little taste of, uh, acting degree that he got.

• 1:12:53Speaker 03

How did no one come, how did, how did you never run into another Rockefeller? Another Cartier? I just can't figure out like, it's nuts. This is, this is nuts. She's back in that teal though. She is back in that teal in that photo. She's back.

• 1:13:06Laci Mosley?

She loves her some teal. Truly loves her some teal. Andrea got speaking gigs in front of high net worth audiences where she introduced herself as an angel investor. She told new friends she'd been the mastermind behind the launch of several blockbuster drugs that are on the market, including Botox and the Merck cancer drug, Ketruda. So she says she's an angel investor and that the reason we have botulin toxin is because of her. And then I think Matthew Rockefeller came out and he did a, like a little John T. dance. And it was like, say, have you seen the papers?

• 1:13:48Speaker 03

  Ketruda?

• 1:13:49Laci Mosley?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:50Speaker 03

Ketruda? It sounds like Rolise and Ketruda.

• 1:13:54Laci Mosley?

Right. I feel like those are the leads of this movie, like Rolise and Ketruda.

• 1:13:58Speaker 03

I just felt like I met Rolise and Ketruda.

• 1:14:00Laci Mosley?

I feel like that's us. I'm Ketruda, you are Rolise.

• 1:14:03Speaker 03

  Yes.

• 1:14:03Laci Mosley?

Yes. Well, she says she, she gave Ketruda that coin and that's all we had is cancer drug.

• 1:14:09Speaker 03

  Correct.

• 1:14:09Laci Mosley?

And like you said, I know you're getting exhausted, Griffin, because it's like, damn, when will this lady stop? So by October 2025, Andrea had traveled to Saudi Arabia to hit up, like the whole party circuit there. And Matt was upset that she still had $10,000 of his money. So in December, Andrea threw a party at Art Basel, which you know, if you know anything about Art Basel, it's great for money laundering. It happens in Miami, a lot of rich people.

• 1:14:36Speaker 03

Is it, is it money laundering? Is that really the thing?

• 1:14:39Laci Mosley?

It's like a lot of rich people, tech bros, a lot of parties, just like the douchiest things that you can imagine. Like I remember one year there was an art installment where you put in your debit card and then this huge machine would show how much money was in your bank account, like for everyone to see.

• 1:14:54Speaker 03

  Not real.

• 1:14:55Laci Mosley?

  Yes.

• 1:14:56Speaker 03

He told me it's not real.

• 1:14:57Laci Mosley?

Yes. It was an ATM that just put your balance up. Um, one, one of the things like that is my favorite example of money laundering is a, a banana that was like nailed to a wall, a real banana.

• 1:15:11Speaker 03

Yeah. Yes, I saw, it was all over the news.

• 1:15:14Laci Mosley?

A crazy amount of money, but it's like, yes, this is money laundering. Um, you know, these people are all working in very douchey sectors of the world. It's like, you're not producing anything that helps people. Like when I think of a trade or a job, like what we do in entertainment, people like to be entertained. They like to watch things. They like to feel things. They like to learn things. You know, if you're an electrician, we need lights, but then when you think about like crypto bros, what have they ever produced that we actually fucking needed? They don't make anything.

• 1:15:43Speaker 03

No one knows. To this day, we don't know. This lady is doing much more than the crypto bros.

• 1:15:48Laci Mosley?

  Right, you know what?

• 1:15:49Speaker 03

She went to work. This lady went to work.

• 1:15:51Laci Mosley?

If you're not done with your meal, don't even worry about it, sweetheart Andrea. Got it? Like, she's good for like, you know, like the, the planet. You go to a party, all the champagne's getting recycled. She's not letting a drop go to waste. Like, come on. So in February 2026, she crashed a black tie wedding at a museum in Palm Beach. The mother of the bride asked who she was and Andrea held up a table card with the name of the bride's best friend. Who was standing a few feet away. The mother of the bride flipped out and said, you're so full of shit and you need to get the fuck out. Ooh, these are some spicy rich people that she crashed.

• 1:16:33Speaker 03

It's time for her to beat some spice.

• 1:16:35Laci Mosley?

Yeah, somebody should have been cussed her out. Andrea, you should have been cussed out a while ago.

• 1:16:39Speaker 03

  K. Truda should have cussed her all the way out.

• 1:16:41Laci Mosley?

  K. Truda should have been on your ass when he was naked in that London apartment. Like, we've let you get away with too much. We was in here snacking on, looking on somebody else's plate. Like you, you don't have no home training. That we know for sure, but I love that she held up a name that was like right there. And listen, I, I have done this at a party where I was going up to the party. Grandma, stop, stop making that face when you judge me when I say things like this.

• 1:17:04Speaker 03

I'm a dad. I love, no, I'm coming in for the tea. That's the tea that like, tell me.

• 1:17:09Laci Mosley?

  And lean forward.

• 1:17:11Speaker 03

  What did you do?

• 1:17:12Laci Mosley?

So I was, uh, walked up to the party and there was a list and I was like, oh, I am, uh, this person's plus one. And that person was right behind me and they're like, no, you're not. And I was like, whoop.

• 1:17:24Speaker 03

  Kay Truda.

• 1:17:27Laci Mosley?

  I know.

• 1:17:28Speaker 03

Why did you do that Kay Truda? What happened? You didn't have, you would have a way in.

• 1:17:32Laci Mosley?

Um, I got in eventually, but yeah.

• 1:17:35Speaker 03

But I mean, did you do it because you, that was your way in? Like you're, you came and said, I'm gonna be a plus one of, of person.

• 1:17:41Laci Mosley?

Well, yeah, I just wanted, I didn't, I think there was another line where you could just like, this is like the VIP. I think there was another situation where you could wait or something. I didn't want to do that. So I like just glanced at the VIP list while the, uh, security people were talking. And I just said, that was like this person's plus one. They were just so, they were earshot, definitely her.

• 1:18:00Speaker 03

  Dead.

• 1:18:01Laci Mosley?

I know, I was like, uh, that's, that's not who I meant. I meant another. You know, hold on, somebody calling me, hello?

• 1:18:10Speaker 03

  Uh huh, hello?

• 1:18:11Laci Mosley?

  Rolise?

• 1:18:12Speaker 03

Once, it's Rolise, it's me, it's just me.

• 1:18:16Laci Mosley?

So in March, New York Magazine published the story exposing her and, and she removed Cartier from her LinkedIn profile, but she's still hosting network events in Palm Beach. The, one includes like, um, Tiger Woods' ex, Rachel, you could tell. So she's still hosting these in Palm Beach screams, like these are MAGA events. Like we all know that like, there's no one more gullible than Trump's cult. So I feel like they're still gonna go to these events. They've seen the photos of her in whatever like, you know, sunburnt, like, uh, filler magazine they look at, you know? They've seen it in liverspots.com. They know that she's been out at the events.

• 1:18:59Laci Mosley?

Uh, yeah, and I do want to say that most of the story comes from the March expose in New York Magazine, um, by crypto reporter Jen Weisner. So thank you so much, Jen. We will have all of this stuff in our footnotes. Uh, but what final thoughts from you, Grippen? Do you like this scam? Do you think this was harmful? How do we feel about, uh, Ms. Ms. Andrea?

• 1:19:22Speaker 03

Well, the thing is, is that she wasn't scamming.

• 1:19:28Speaker 03

Poor people, which I find those are the scams that I'm like, okay. She went after a bunch of people that I guess could afford to be scammed. And I say that, you know.

• 1:19:37Laci Mosley?

Yeah, no, she scammed up. These are people who are like wasting money. Like, I'm sorry, if you're going to blow money at a random party for no reason, like a global, uh, project. What global passion project like that's the money doesn't even go anywhere. To me, I'm like, I don't care where that money goes.

• 1:19:57Speaker 03

The thing is, if she had scammed down, she wouldn't have been alive. You can't scam this, all this parties, no tequila and no food. And if she imagine if she had scammed down, this lady would not have survived. It's an interesting process to scam up because what are these people gonna do? You said they got embarrassed. They were embarrassed by her. And I'm like, okay, that does make sense. It means like.

• 1:20:20Laci Mosley?

Shame is a huge part of the reason why people don't talk about how they have been scammed and been ripped off. It's because people think that if you've been scammed, you've been a fool. But we always say that everyone has needs and there's always someone willing to exploit those needs in the world. You know what I mean? So anybody can get scammed. And I think it's more dangerous to think that you can't, uh, or to let your hubris allow you to put yourself in a position where you ignore every red flag. And then the next thing you know, you know, you done gave $10,000 to global passion project. And you ain't get no passion, you ain't get no project, you ain't get no yacht, you ain't get no nothing.

• 1:20:56Speaker 03

I just want to state, there's not one black person in any of these photos.

• 1:21:00Laci Mosley?

  Oh, no, no, no, no.

• 1:21:02Speaker 03

You can't do this, not to us. You can't do this. There's not one of us in these photos. You know what I'm saying? I just, she, she, she found her market.

• 1:21:14Laci Mosley?

  She did.

• 1:21:14Speaker 03

  She found her niche.

• 1:21:16Laci Mosley?

And it looks like a Don Chegaba dress. Like she's been giving me like, kind of like tacky, like rich woman the whole time.

• 1:21:24Speaker 03

It's a lot of print. So she's giving a lot of print, busy print.

• 1:21:27Laci Mosley?

Yeah, which is this kind of Palm Beach look. The Palm Beach look is like, it's very gaudy. It's very like inside of Trump's bathroom, but like, put it on your body.

• 1:21:41Speaker 03

Mar-a-Lago. It's very Mar-a-Lago. It's very, I'm redoing the White House is what that is.

• 1:21:46Laci Mosley?

Yes. So I mean, this one, I'm kind of like Andrea, it looks like you haven't even been charged, you haven't been caught. It looks like you've just been written up in New York Magazine and that nobody has really gotten you on the hook for anything. And so I hope you can keep going. Maybe just to raise your, elevate your social profile even higher.

• 1:22:04Speaker 03

I hope you meet her. I hope I meet her, but not soon. Just, you know, at some point.

• 1:22:09Laci Mosley?

I don't feel like we would ever be, the spaces that she's in are not safe for us to be her, like.

• 1:22:14Speaker 03

Well, because if we meet her, it means other things are going down. You know what I'm saying?

• 1:22:18Laci Mosley?

We're at one of those rallies.

• 1:22:20Speaker 03

  We're at a rally. That's what.

• 1:22:21Laci Mosley?

Rolise, you can't be at a rally, okay? Catruda, we can't do that.

• 1:22:25Speaker 03

  Catruda, don't be there.

• 1:22:27Laci Mosley?

Okay, I'm not gonna sneak in. I, I feel like I wouldn't even have to sneak into this one, but you know, I won't, I won't sneak in. I promise, I promise, Rolise. But Griffin, that brings us to the end of an amazing episode. Thank you so much. All the way from Spain, Espana, these different time zones. You're fantastic. We always ask, what would you like to be found? What do you want people to watch? See? Any social media? Could be anything.

• 1:22:51Speaker 03

Well, I will be in this Spanish series, Merienda Compliciva. I will be speaking Espanol on the show. I will not be speaking English. So I don't know. I would love, turn on the subtitles is what I'm telling you. Turn on the subtitles.

• 1:23:08Laci Mosley?

No, I'm gonna watch it. This is how I'm gonna keep getting my Spanish stronger. Muy fuerte. I'll watch you.

• 1:23:14Speaker 03

Más fuerte, exacto. No, but I'm really excited and I think it's like an interesting way to, to pivot and to try new things in our lives. And I am absolutely terrified and excited to be on television speaking Espanol. So I will post on my social media. My, my handle is Griffin's Thread.
