• 0:00Theo Von?

You ever realize that you spent your entire morning thinking about lunch? It's 9 a.m. and somehow I'm already in negotiations with myself about how I'm gonna spend $20 on a sandwich at noon. And then I eat it, or you eat it, or somebody eats it, and then an hour later, you're just standing in the kitchen worrying about what you'll do for dinner. And that's one reason why I've been into Huell. The Black Edition Powder is a complete meal you have instead of food, not a shake on top of food. Their powder starts at less than $3 per meal, has 40 grams of protein, and mixes with water or milk in about 30 seconds. I like Huell's shakes because they're clean and it's quick.

• 0:41Theo Von?

I just want to make sure I have everything I need to keep going the way I want to keep going in a healthy manner. So with Huell, basically, lunch went from a daily logistical problem to a thing I can solve in about 30 seconds. Make healthy eating simple. New customers get an exclusive offer of 15% off online with my code WEEKEND at huell.com/weekend. That's H-U-E-L dot com slash weekend. Thank you to Huell for partnering and supporting our show. Thanks for coming Chad, you feel okay with just getting into it? You wanna, anything you wanna talk about or don't wanna talk about?

• 2:30Speaker 01

Like having sex, get into it. Damn, I don't have rules.

• 2:34Theo Von?

  Okay.

• 2:35Speaker 01

I'm just as crazy as you are.

• 2:36Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 2:37Speaker 01

If you ask, be ready for an answer.

• 2:39Theo Von?

  Ooh.

• 2:40Speaker 01

  Well?

• 2:42Theo Von?

  Okay Chad.

• 2:45Speaker 01

God damn, I look good, fuck.

• 2:47Theo Von?

You coming in a little dark huh? How dark are, dude, I'll do it, is there like a?

• 2:52Speaker 01

I can smoke, cuz you put that right there.

• 2:56Theo Von?

  I'm in me.

• 2:57Speaker 01

  Fuck yeah.

• 2:58Theo Von?

I don't think we gotta, I mean, will that thing go off, you think?

• 3:01Speaker 01

  No, it's not enough smoke.

• 3:04Theo Von?

Did you do F1 last weekend?

• 3:05Speaker 01

Yeah, I had to go shake some hands, smiles, get a few deals done. I'm not, I'm not a, not much of a F1 guy. NASCAR, now we talking. NASCAR is where, where, where it's at. Especially for first dates.

• 3:20Theo Von?

  Go to NASCAR?

• 3:20Speaker 01

  What?

• 3:21Theo Von?

  Some of the shit-

• 3:22Speaker 01

You're a woman that's never been to NASCAR and you sit in the stands? Oh, awesome.

• 3:27Theo Von?

I gotta do something like that, I used to take girls, when I lived in Tucson, I'd take them over to the, to the dog track over there.

• 3:33Speaker 01

  Greyhounds?

• 3:33Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 3:33Speaker 01

They had a greyhound track still in, in?

• 3:35Theo Von?

They had a greyhound track, this is probably about 16 years ago.

• 3:38Speaker 01

We got the greyhound track here too, horse track. I love that man.

• 3:42Theo Von?

You got, you got any nice animals at the house?

• 3:44Speaker 01

No, I, I travel too much for pets. And I can't deal with death. I don't handle death well.

• 3:50Theo Von?

Yeah, I wish, sometimes I'd love to see animals compete against each other.

• 3:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:56Theo Von?

I love that shit, man. They had a baby racing the other day at a college game I saw.

• 4:02Speaker 01

  Crawling?

• 4:03Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 4:03Speaker 01

That's funny. I saw, I saw some, sometime when they do it at NBA games?

• 4:07Theo Von?

  Mm-hmm.

• 4:08Speaker 01

  And the baby's crawling?

• 4:10Theo Von?

I bet on them. You ever had that game, oh, dude, I fucking, I put 1100 on a four month old, baby.

• 4:17Speaker 01

  For real?

• 4:17Theo Von?

Yeah, a fast little Filipino four month old?

• 4:20Speaker 01

  Look, look, this is dope.

• 4:22Theo Von?

I put half a rack on that bitch.

• 4:28Theo Von?

  Oh, that's a-

• 4:30Speaker 01

  That is funny.

• 4:31Theo Von?

Dang, look at that, one baby stalled out. Got dementia.

• 4:42Theo Von?

  Oh, they cheating there.

• 4:45Speaker 01

  Stop reaching across the line.

• 4:47Theo Von?

That's what I don't like that. That's the rules of China. Look at this little one. Damn, he turning around.

• 4:52Speaker 01

  Wrong way, buddy.

• 4:53Theo Von?

He want, uh-uh, he want a new contract. He just hit the portal. He's heading back to his stepdad.

• 5:01Speaker 01

Oh, they going the wrong way.

• 5:03Theo Von?

Man, now they got, ooh, that one can't handle it. Yeah, now they got that little Filipino bad boy up top.

• 5:09Speaker 01

  There it is.

• 5:12Theo Von?

That's Pukunakua right there up top, baby. Hit the finish line.

• 5:18Speaker 01

  That's funny.

• 5:19Theo Von?

Do you feel like it was probably, when you look at the, at the players today, was, do you feel like it was easier for them to be able to, uh, pick up stats?

• 5:28Speaker 01

I mean, the game has changed. The game has evolved a lot. Um, obviously from a receiver standpoint, they, they throw the ball much more, much more. The era I played in, it was, it was more about running the ball to open up the pass. So they definitely, I mean, it's a different average. They have an added game too. So it was a much more difficult, and the game is a little bit more lenient in favor of the offensive side because defensive defenders really can't do anything. You can't hit, you can't, they throw flags for everything. You get fined for everything.

• 5:52Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 5:53Speaker 01

I think, you know, my era and the era before me, football in general back then was the true definition of football. I mean, it's a gladiator sport.

• 6:01Theo Von?

Yeah. Yeah, definitely. What, why do you think they softened up the rules like that? Why do you think they made it like that?

• 6:07Speaker 01

Honestly, the truth, um, I forgot what era it was when they sued the NFL for, um, all the injuries, um, all the trauma that players have suffered in the past.

• 6:17Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 6:17Speaker 01

And they won the lawsuit. It might have been a billion or some, something like that. And they had no choice but to.

• 6:24Theo Von?

Oh, yeah. The National Football League was sued for failing to protect players from head injuries, which can lead to CTE starting in 2011. In 2012, a class action lawsuit was filed, consolidating over 4,500 former player cases.

• 6:37Theo Von?

  So they settled that huh?

• 6:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, they won.

• 6:39Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 6:40Speaker 01

Those players won and that's why the rules are what they are today. I know they always preach about player safety, but that's, I mean, player safety is cool, it's understandable, but the players have gotten faster, stronger, bigger, the dimensions of the field haven't changed at all, so therefore injuries are still going to happen, concussions are still going to happen, there's no way to prevent that.

• 6:58Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 6:58Speaker 01

  It's impossible.

• 6:59Theo Von?

Yeah, well, yeah, cuz that's part of it, you can't just stop that from happening.

• 7:02Speaker 01

You know what you signed up for.

• 7:03Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 7:04Speaker 01

You know what you signed up when, when you, when you make it, you know, as a 1% in NFL, it's a gladiator sport, it's barbaric.

• 7:11Theo Von?

It kinda is a little bit of a bummer because you don't really get as many, there's not a lot, enough defensive cornerbacks and safeties, they don't really get enough love then because you don't even get to know them as much because they can't play as much defense, does that make sense?

• 7:26Speaker 01

Uh, a little bit, but, but some of them, some of them have made a name for themselves that are really good, really, really good, the Jalen Ramses and, um, McDuffie and, let me see, I can think of, run some of these, um, DBs off, uh, Sauce Gardner, Derek Stingley, you know, some, some dudes are really good regardless of the game changing the way it has, Pat Surtain, uh, Lazardius Sneed, really good, Jalen Johnson, good, young dude, Christian Gonzalez with the Patriots?

• 7:53Theo Von?

  Mm-hmm.

• 7:54Speaker 01

  Man, hey, he's an animal.

• 7:56Theo Von?

  Wow.

• 7:56Speaker 01

He's an animal, and there's, there's another young fella, um...

• 7:58Theo Von?

  Latino, right there.

• 7:59Speaker 01

Yeah, there's another young fella in, um, damn it, Horn from the Panthers is really good as well.

• 8:09Theo Von?

  Joe Horn's son?

• 8:10Speaker 01

Yeah, Joe Horn, I, he is nice.

• 8:12Theo Von?

  Really?

• 8:13Speaker 01

So despite the rules being what they are, they've gotten so good technically, you know, trying to adapt to the rules.

• 8:19Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 8:19Speaker 01

That some, some of them stand out.

• 8:21Theo Von?

But they're just, it feels like you do, there can't be really be that beast out there that's just like clapping dudes down.

• 8:26Speaker 01

  No, you can't, you can't.

• 8:27Theo Von?

  Like...

• 8:28Speaker 01

And tho- those, the first thing that comes to mind is the safety or maybe linebacker from the Texans who got suspended, I think got suspended, maybe once or twice, because he plays like he's back in the old days.

• 8:40Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah. Who is it?

• 8:41Speaker 01

Uh, Al Shazir, Shazir, something, something like that.

• 8:44Theo Von?

Al Jazeera? Not him, who is it?

• 8:46Speaker 01

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know, say it, say it name the right way.

• 8:49Theo Von?

  Aziz Al Shayer.

• 8:50Speaker 01

  Aziz Al Shayer, yeah.

• 8:51Theo Von?

Oh, hell yeah, he's an op, bro, he's working for the...

• 8:53Speaker 01

  He plays like it's...

• 8:54Theo Von?

Middle East over here, he's over here doing some shit.

• 8:58Speaker 01

He plays football the way football should be played.

• 9:00Theo Von?

Hell, yeah. Hell, y'all gotta get his jersey, man.

• 9:03Speaker 01

Yeah, he's good. He's really good.

• 9:04Theo Von?

But yeah, you don't hear, there's not like that Ronnie Lott guy, you know what I'm saying? They just don't have those bangers or like, uh, who was the guy that played for Denver? That was just a banger back there?

• 9:13Speaker 01

  Steve Atwater.

• 9:14Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 9:14Speaker 01

  Yeah, Steve Atwater, Bob Sanders.

• 9:18Speaker 01

  Oh, he's, he's old school.

• 9:20Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 9:21Speaker 01

He's old school and obviously right there, players should have, should have slid early, slide early.

• 9:26Theo Von?

Yeah. What do you think about the slide, man? Cause it honestly, as a fan, it doesn't even make it fun. If the guy's running, you know, he's gonna slide.

• 9:31Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 9:32Theo Von?

It just seems, uh, I don't know. You would almost rather don't do this play or somebody get hit.

• 9:39Speaker 01

Well, not, not really. It just slide early. You know, the guys are coming. They're much faster than you, especially quarterbacks. They're much faster than you. And Mahomes is one who's really tricky is he'll purposely slide late to get a penalty.

• 9:50Theo Von?

Ooh, we know he does it on purpose.

• 9:52Speaker 01

Sometimes he'll pretend like he going down or gonna step out of bounds and stay in just a little bit, just a tad second longer.

• 9:58Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 9:58Speaker 01

Just to get a flag thrown, so.

• 10:00Theo Von?

  God, he lingering.

• 10:01Speaker 01

Offensive players are using the rules to their advantage and it, it puts, it puts the defensive players in a pickle.

• 10:07Theo Von?

Yeah. But it builds it up for, people want stats, people wanna see the scoring.

• 10:11Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 10:11Theo Von?

You know, so I guess it's just a sign of the times. Do you think it can ever swing back the other way? Or do you think that the legal issues and stuff are gonna keep it out of that?

• 10:19Speaker 01

It would never swing back the other way. Cause the NFL, they have to protect themselves. They gotta protect the shield and protect the players, you know, on the back end.

• 10:25Theo Von?

Was it tough on your team when you play with the Bengals? Like, I know you played with a couple of different teams, but was it, or within a team? Is it fun for a receiver if they're running, bro? Is it even fun?

• 10:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 10:35Theo Von?

Like, you have to pretend that they're gonna pass?

• 10:37Speaker 01

No, because I was, I like to call myself an all around player outside of just catching the balls. Because there were certain things I already knew I would have two people on me every time. So that opened up the running game. So I had no problem. So if you open up the running game and the, and the running game is doing well, then they have to take a safety and get him up off of me and bring him down in the box. Now I get to, now I get to cook. So I look, I look, I look at it that way.

• 10:59Theo Von?

Do you think a lot of players look at it that way?

• 11:01Speaker 01

Like, probably not. I knew, I knew I would get mine no matter what because I was the number, I was the number one receiver. So at some point, the ball was gonna get to me. But then you have some games you go into and a team will say, you know what? Today, eighty-five is not beating us. It's gonna have to be somebody else. And those games, you know, you, you do the best you can and keep your composure. It gets frustrating at times, you know, out there just getting cardio in.

• 11:22Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 11:23Speaker 01

But you're gonna have games like that.

• 11:24Theo Von?

So if somebody, if they're, if you know your team's running, right? But you still have to pretend like they're gonna pass, right?

• 11:29Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, always, always. And I, I'm rarely, rarely ever was lackadaisical. Because I understood what I mean to us offensively, even when I wouldn't get the ball.

• 11:39Theo Von?

Right. Like even if you're saying if they think they're gonna have to keep an eye, and if his eye's over here, it's not over here in the box.

• 11:44Speaker 01

Yeah, most definitely, most definitely. So I, I run them off.

• 11:48Theo Von?

Um, and was that still fun too, even on those plays?

• 11:50Speaker 01

Yeah, I made, I made it fun. I had to, because I used that time to talk shit.

• 11:54Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 11:55Speaker 01

  Can you curse?

• 11:56Theo Von?

  Huh?

• 11:56Speaker 01

  Okay, I'm sorry.

• 11:57Theo Von?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 11:57Speaker 01

  Okay, cool.

• 11:58Theo Von?

  You can talk shit, dude.

• 11:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 12:00Theo Von?

Who's the darkest dude you ever seen in the NFL, man? Like the darkest skinned guy?

• 12:05Speaker 01

  Darkest.

• 12:06Theo Von?

Because sometimes you see a guy, you're like, damn, like, I've been even with my black friends and we'll see like a dude that is. And they're like, damn.

• 12:13Speaker 01

  That's a good question.

• 12:14Theo Von?

My friend, my black friend be like, damn, you see that black guy? I'm like, yeah, dude, I saw him. But for you to say that, that's a, you know, that's a remarkable.

• 12:22Speaker 01

  I'm trying to think. I, I can't, I can't think. I'm dark, my damn self.

• 12:26Theo Von?

Well, you come, yeah, I definitely think you come in a, people would consider you dark.

• 12:30Speaker 01

Yeah, very, very. I'm trying, I'm trying to get darker. You know, I used to tan.

• 12:34Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah?

• 12:35Speaker 01

Yeah, I used to go to the tanning bed.

• 12:36Theo Von?

  Did you?

• 12:37Speaker 01

Yeah, butt naked, just to even everything out. I like it.

• 12:40Theo Von?

Because are there parts, say if you're a, and I've never seen a, uh, I've never seen a full, I don't think, naked darker male, right?

• 12:49Speaker 01

  Right.

• 12:49Theo Von?

Is there parts of your body that are not as dark?

• 12:52Speaker 01

You know what? Sometimes I would like the chest and the neck area to match. And sometimes it doesn't. I don't like that because it's always covered. I want my legs, chest and everything one like chocolate dark gold diva Willy Wonka type complexion.

• 13:06Theo Von?

Yeah, like them, uh, what's them little things that they give you sometimes at a hotel somewhere nice?

• 13:12Speaker 01

  The little chocolates?

• 13:13Theo Von?

Yeah, the ones that are wrapped up. Some of them are red, some of them are blue, some of them is gold.

• 13:17Speaker 01

The little mint, I know what you're talking about.

• 13:18Theo Von?

What are they called? L'ador. Oh, no, them bitches. Oh, them, yeah, them Lindor truffles, baby, damn.

• 13:26Speaker 01

Yeah, I like, I like those.

• 13:27Theo Von?

Yeah, buh. That's what I'm saying, dude. If you had your, bro, if they had Chad Johnson Lindor truffle.

• 13:34Speaker 01

  That's a good one.

• 13:35Theo Von?

Bro, that's an elite candy. Look at them bitches. They wrapped up real nice. God, they wearing a damn, just a beautiful panty they got them wrapped in.

• 13:42Speaker 01

  Seventy dollars.

• 13:44Theo Von?

God, that's expensive. Look at that. Them Lindor changemakers, three hundred and twenty dollars.

• 13:49Speaker 01

For one or the, or the, the package?

• 13:52Theo Von?

Bruh, that's all I'm saying. Bro, if they had Chad Johnson chocolates, god.

• 13:57Speaker 01

  That'd be dope.

• 13:58Theo Von?

  It's a good idea.

• 13:59Speaker 01

  I gotta look into that.

• 14:00Theo Von?

Have you done some business ventures? Like what's something you ever got in? Cause people get into something wild, you know, and different people get into different stuff. Joe Horn have a hot sauce or a barbecue sauce. Remember he went big on barbecue?

• 14:10Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:11Theo Von?

I'm trying to think of guys from your time that had something wild. I mean, I was a New Orleans guy, so I know Deuce McCullough had like a car dealership.

• 14:20Speaker 01

Well, for me, it would be cigars.

• 14:22Theo Von?

  Oh, really?

• 14:23Speaker 01

  Eighty-five cigars. Yeah.

• 14:24Theo Von?

So you have a brand of them?

• 14:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 14:26Theo Von?

Oh, bet I didn't even know, man.

• 14:28Speaker 01

Eighty, eighty-five and number five and boom, there they go.

• 14:31Theo Von?

God, boy, them bitches give you, give you a long CTE, huh?

• 14:34Speaker 01

  Listen, that's, that's all I do. I've never, I've never had alcohol.

• 14:38Theo Von?

  Really?

• 14:38Speaker 01

Never. So anytime I have a cigar, I always pair it with, uh, my coffee. I've just finished my coffee. Yeah. I've never had alcohol, uh, no drugs, never done anything but cigars. I'm a smoker since nineteen ninety-one. Since ninety one, I smoked two or three a day, and this is actually even when I was playing. When I was playing, I would smoke, whether we lost or whether we won.

• 14:58Theo Von?

Cause what is it, you what is just like, yeah, what is it? Cause that's a pretty kind of a, that's a real relationship with something.

• 15:05Speaker 01

Yeah, most definitely. It's all about the taste. It's all about the taste and I, I'm a fan of really all cigars, whether they're mild, strong, peppery,

• 15:15Speaker 01

smooth, it doesn't matter. I'm a cigar enthusiast.

• 15:18Theo Von?

Oh, yeah. God, I tried to, I remember I used to work for this rich guy and I would, and sometimes he would call me in there. He would be drunk and he, the other ladies that worked, I was at an insurance company, they'd have gone home and I was just the guy who was doing the, filings and stuff and mailing things and he'd be drunk and he'd call me to listen to him because he just wanted to just,

• 15:39Speaker 01

  Just yap.

• 15:40Theo Von?

Just be rich and have somebody here and be rich.

• 15:43Speaker 01

  Right.

• 15:43Theo Von?

So he was sitting there with a big cigar and fucking, he tried to get me to hit them bitches a couple of times, man. God. I couldn't, I just couldn't handle some of it. I mean, my hands swell up. One of them made my hands real straight. I think he was smoking some shit that they had, you know, they'd put some other shit in it at the house or whatever. Cause I couldn't even bend my hands for almost forty minutes after smoking them bitches.

• 16:05Speaker 01

  Did you inhale?

• 16:05Theo Von?

  Huh?

• 16:06Speaker 01

  Did you inhale?

• 16:07Theo Von?

Yeah, I tried my best, man.

• 16:08Speaker 01

You're not supposed to inhale, you're supposed to taste it.

• 16:10Theo Von?

Oh, I like to hit that bitch.

• 16:11Speaker 01

  It's an acquired taste.

• 16:13Theo Von?

Yeah. And he didn't teach me like that. He just like,

• 16:15Speaker 01

He just gave it to you? Oh, yeah.

• 16:17Theo Von?

He was complaining, ah, something, you know, the oil or whatever. And I was, and dude, I had to finish filing that afternoon, bro.

• 16:26Theo Von?

Like a platypus in there trying to fucking figure shit out, man. But yeah, I didn't know that. So you never had alcohol, huh?

• 16:32Speaker 01

No, I never, I never will, man.

• 16:34Theo Von?

But did something turn you off to it when you were young?

• 16:36Speaker 01

I think it might have been my mom.

• 16:37Theo Von?

  She drank?

• 16:38Speaker 01

Yeah, she, oh, did she? Oh, man, she drank like a fish, you know, morning, morning, noon, night, you know, and seeing her become somebody I didn't even recognize. I think that's why I stayed away from it because it always starts young. Anytime you, you, you have a habit that you stay away from, you have the discipline to do it. Most people say, oh, you're so disciplined. No, say, no, I'm not. I saw something in my mom when I was younger that let me know, you know what? I'm not going down that path. And I just, I just never did it.

• 17:01Theo Von?

And did she, is she still alive?

• 17:03Speaker 01

No, she passed away from alcohol poisoning.

• 17:05Theo Von?

  From cirrhosis of the liver?

• 17:06Speaker 01

Yep, twenty twenty one. I never forget. And I knew that, I got that phone call. I got that phone call and I knew something was wrong because it was family members calling.

• 17:16Theo Von?

  Hmm, that's scary huh?

• 17:17Speaker 01

Family members never call, especially like that back to back from different family members. And I kinda already knew what it was. Cause my brother had already called, so I already know nothing's wrong with him.

• 17:26Theo Von?

  Right.

• 17:27Speaker 01

And I, I, I had a feeling what it was and say, come down to the house. Your mom is, she's passed out. They couldn't even open the door. She was right there, right there by the door and obviously the autopsy came back and she passed away. Drink herself, drink herself to death. That's my baby though.

• 17:46Theo Von?

Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, man, I, uh, you know, I've been in recovery and struggling over the years from drinking. And a lot of my friends, you know, it's part of, it's part of a lot of people's universe these days.

• 17:57Speaker 01

  Yes, sir.

• 17:58Theo Von?

What, uh, and how do you try, and I even have a family member, we try, I've done intervention and stuff. Did you guys ever try to do something like that? Is that hard as a son? Because I bet it's kinda tough with a parent because they're kind of, you still have to look up to them.

• 18:10Speaker 01

It, it was, it was very difficult. And it was so difficult that I couldn't do it and she wouldn't listen to me. You know, you can lead a horse, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink. So she has to wanna get the help herself.

• 18:21Theo Von?

  And they can't drink alcohol.

• 18:22Speaker 01

Yep, they, listen. And so I even went as far as we were on marriage bootcamp, but it was family edition. I think it, we TV, I forgot what it was.

• 18:30Theo Von?

It was a show that you did?

• 18:31Speaker 01

Yeah, so her and I, it's all about, um, a mother and son or a mother and, and whatever family member it was. You're trying to mend the relationship and whatever issues you have. So I took her on there and more, she cut a fool. She cut a fool.

• 18:46Theo Von?

  Oh, she didn't wanna be?

• 18:47Speaker 01

She cut a fool. Obviously had alcohol out, they had all this stuff and it was her and I, you know, two weeks, two weeks straight. We went through different activities. They had two therapists, two doctors there. And there, there it is right there. And man.

• 18:59Theo Von?

  She's beautiful. What's her name?

• 19:01Speaker 01

Paula, Paula Johnson. We call her Hurricane Paula.

• 19:03Theo Von?

  Woo, category, category eighty-five huh?

• 19:07Speaker 01

When she gets, when she gets upset. It's a hurricane.

• 19:10Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 19:10Speaker 01

It's a hurricane. And listen, she showed out in that show, man. That's my baby. She showed out. But she just wouldn't. She left the show early. She didn't even finish the show. She left early. Cussed the producers out, cussed the rest of the castmates out.

• 19:22Theo Von?

  She didn't want it.

• 19:22Speaker 01

Nah, she, she, she didn't want to get the help I wanted, man. But that's my baby. There, there was a funeral scene we did. There was a funeral scene we did.

• 19:29Theo Von?

  Uh huh.

• 19:30Speaker 01

Where she was like, close the casket. So it was me in a casket. And how would she feel if I was to pass away?

• 19:36Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 19:37Speaker 01

Oh, man, she showed out. Oh, she showed out. Close the casket. Let his baby mamas roll him in. Oh, it was hilarious.

• 19:43Theo Von?

  Oh, she made it funny?

• 19:44Speaker 01

Oh, man, it was, it was, no, she was dead serious, though.

• 19:46Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 19:47Speaker 01

  Oh, she was pissed.

• 19:48Theo Von?

  She.

• 19:48Speaker 01

She was pissed. So that, that, that was the introduction.

• 19:50Theo Von?

  Let his baby mamas roll.

• 19:53Speaker 01

Let him roll that, close that bitch and let his baby mamas roll his ass up out of here. Yeah, yeah. And so people were, that, the world.

• 19:59Theo Von?

  That's hilarious, dude.

• 20:01Speaker 01

Yeah, the world was introduced to Hurricane Polo. And she didn't, she didn't play.

• 20:06Speaker 02

An emotional response. Do you want us to talk to you?

• 20:09Theo Von?

That, that look alone, she didn't take any bullshit, huh?

• 20:11Speaker 01

  No, she didn't play.

• 20:12Speaker 02

  Doesn't work.

• 20:12Theo Von?

  But did you get?

• 20:13Speaker 03

  I meant that.

• 20:14Speaker 01

  Well, I said, listen.

• 20:14Speaker 03

But I haven't been a part of his life and he hasn't been a part of mine. He got his kids and baby mamas. Line them up. Let him roll his ass out.

• 20:24Speaker 02

You said you wanted to close the casket earlier.

• 20:26Speaker 03

No, you close it. I don't work for the funeral home. Let one of his baby mamas, let one of his children come close.

• 20:32Speaker 02

  Sit down, Paula.

• 20:33Theo Von?

Sit down, Paula. Never. You do not, you could never tell Paula to sit down.

• 20:37Speaker 01

  She's a legend.

• 20:38Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 20:38Speaker 01

She's a legend, especially in our area. We have a thing. You're not really a friend of mine if you haven't been cursed out by my mom. That means you ain't been around long enough. And that, that's how she was. And we, we loved her just like that. And I never got a chance to say goodbye.

• 20:51Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 20:52Speaker 01

I never got a chance to say I love you. But I had the messages saved before she passed away and it's her cursing me out.

• 20:59Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 21:00Speaker 01

I mean, let me have it, letting it rip, like paragraph, paragraph.

• 21:03Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 21:04Speaker 01

And, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

• 21:07Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 21:07Speaker 01

I wouldn't want it any other way.

• 21:08Theo Von?

  Cause that's who she was.

• 21:09Speaker 01

  That's who she was.

• 21:10Theo Von?

That's fair. Yeah, I have a family member, they'll send me met, like some of the texts they send, shitting caps, emojis. Things don't even make any sense. They'll be the, I can't even read it.

• 21:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 21:18Theo Von?

I already know what it is, right? But at the same time, that's who they are, you know?

• 21:23Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 21:23Theo Von?

You have to love people where they're at.

• 21:24Speaker 01

  Mm hmm.

• 21:25Theo Von?

It's tough, though. That's a tough time. I think so many people deal with that. How do I love a family member that's struggling? You know, because you can even give them things. I mean, even you're able to provide then.

• 21:34Speaker 01

Yeah, and the funny thing about it is, is I had to stop the bleeding as well. Because an individual like that, they would use, oh, I'm your mama as a reason for you to keep giving, giving, giving, giving. And a taker doesn't know when to stop. It doesn't know when to stop. And and there was no appreciation behind it because no matter how much I did, it was always an issue. So even at that point with mom, I even had to deal with her from from orange length at a distance, you know? And it's it's it was cool. We my grandma raised me so her and I weren't really eye to eye most of the time. But man, when when the times were good, oh, man.

• 22:09Theo Von?

  Oh, I bet.

• 22:10Speaker 01

But when it was bad, I know. Oh, we talk about entertainment. Like her see her being on that show was able to introduce the world to who Hurricane Paula was, and she was TV gold. She was TV gold.

• 22:23Theo Von?

Oh, dude, that little bit right there. It almost reminds me of uh that that woman in New York when she was at her best, remember?

• 22:30Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 22:31Theo Von?

When she was at her best, though, like her best moments remind me of something just like that. Oh, that's interesting. And at least you have that. At least you have that also, a moment of you guys' time together. You know, to look at. I bet she was super proud of you, though. Was she able to express that to you?

• 22:44Speaker 01

Yeah, absolutely. She was proud of all the things I was able to accomplish, you know, obviously during during my days and NFL, all the stuff I did off the field. But she was so unpredictable. The I couldn't take her to important stuff.

• 22:56Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 22:57Speaker 01

Because, you know, red carpet, stuff like that. I I couldn't have her in those rooms because I don't know what Paula was gonna show up. I didn't know which mom was gonna show up. And I didn't want her to to embarrass me in those moments, um moments that would be we're supposed we're supposed to be celebrating, whatever achieving it may be. But listen, if the wrong person is there and she sees, she might snap.

• 23:15Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 23:16Speaker 01

It doesn't care about the surroundings or the environment.

• 23:18Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 23:19Speaker 01

So I I had to be cautious.

• 23:20Theo Von?

She'll get a pass in her she'll get a defensive pass interference call.

• 23:23Speaker 01

Quick and don't care. And don't care. Yeah.

• 23:28Theo Von?

Wow, dude, that's so interesting because that's also it has to be wild because that's where you obviously got a lot of your. Banter inability to accept things, even if they're in a dangerous space.

• 23:37Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:37Theo Von?

To keep, because one thing that's interesting, I think about you Chad, and this is kind of, it may be judgment, but it's just me kind of from the outside perspective is even if things are chaotic and crazy for other people, you're still able to have this sense of humor that things aren't even, not that it doesn't matter.

• 23:51Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:52Theo Von?

But that it's not affecting you.

• 23:53Speaker 01

Yeah, I have, it's, I think because of my upbringing and me being able to operate well in a chaotic environment. And I'm very comfortable being uncomfortable.

• 24:03Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 24:04Speaker 01

Very, it doesn't matter what's going, it doesn't matter what's going on. I love chaos and I, I, I operate well in chaos, very well, it doesn't matter what it is.

• 24:13Theo Von?

Now, will you also create the chaos just to then slide in and operate in it?

• 24:17Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 24:17Theo Von?

  Yes.

• 24:18Speaker 01

Think about during my time playing.

• 24:19Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 24:20Speaker 01

I was very chaotic. I purposely tried to piss the NFL off purposely because I understood the game is an entertainment sport.

• 24:27Theo Von?

  Ah.

• 24:28Speaker 01

So therefore I'm going to bring just that, the entertainment value part to it. They didn't see it that way, but all of a sudden, everything I was vilified for now is a green light.

• 24:36Theo Von?

  Right.

• 24:37Speaker 01

  Everybody's celebrating, everybody's having fun.

• 24:39Theo Von?

  Good point.

• 24:39Speaker 01

And I understood what I was doing.

• 24:41Theo Von?

And look where you're at now, you're in a space where you're still entertaining, right?

• 24:43Speaker 01

  Still going, still going.

• 24:45Theo Von?

In a little bit of a way, you're kind of before your, you're kind of before your time with that.

• 24:48Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 24:48Theo Von?

And it takes, it takes other, it's even like with podcasting, at first they thought podcasting was crazy. These people aren't doing shit, they're out here doing, we got networks, we got all of this. And then you know as well as anybody, you, I mean, half your times when you're doing shows with Shannon, you're just sitting there on your phone or computer, he's in a studio sometimes, but sometimes you're showing up from wherever.

• 25:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:08Theo Von?

From your home, you're just tapped in off a laptop and that's a, that's, you know.

• 25:11Speaker 01

I started the podcasting early too, I think in 2010.

• 25:14Theo Von?

  Let's go.

• 25:15Speaker 01

Carol Owens and I had a show called The Tiocho Show. And that was, that was, that was the first form of podcasting in a sense, I think that, that, that there ever was.

• 25:23Theo Von?

Dude, I remember, so I lived in LA for maybe 11 years. I remember I went one time, I was meeting some girl, I think I met her off the internet or something, but I was gonna take her. She's like, will you take me shopping? And I was like, fuck.

• 25:36Speaker 01

  Shopping?

• 25:37Theo Von?

I know. And I was like, yeah.

• 25:38Speaker 01

Was this before or after sex?

• 25:39Theo Von?

This was before sexes, before a handshake. And so, but I knew I wasn't gonna take her anywhere nice, you know, I was, but I still wanted to, I think I was just susceptible.

• 25:49Speaker 01

  Right.

• 25:50Theo Von?

So I'm like, where can I take this girl that's not expensive, but?

• 25:55Speaker 01

  American Apparel.

• 25:56Theo Von?

That has something. Right, right. So that's kind of the district I took her in, right? Um, anyway, she's looking at shit and everything and, uh, I saw Terrell Owens and Macaulay Culkin having lunch together.

• 26:08Speaker 01

  That's dope.

• 26:09Theo Von?

God. And it was beautiful. It was almost like seeing a, a Loch Ness monster or a Sasquatch, you know what I'm saying? You would ever see that.

• 26:17Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 26:18Theo Von?

You know, so something like, just sometimes you see certain groups of people in the wild. It's just beautiful, but, um, what made T, was, was T, cause you guys were also teammates.

• 26:26Speaker 01

  Yeah, he was in Cincinnati.

• 26:28Theo Von?

Was he as entertaining? What, what was?

• 26:30Speaker 01

Absolutely. And I gotta think, we were friends before that. I remember I stood on the table for T and I knew we had opportunity to get him. So I talked to Marvin Lewis. I talked to Mike Brown. I said, we gotta get T in here. We gotta get T in here. As much as I've accomplished here as a Cincinnati Bengal, can we please get one of the greatest players to ever play?

• 26:48Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 26:49Speaker 01

Top three, all time, no matter what. I have no problem taking a backseat and being his Robin.

• 26:55Theo Von?

  Really?

• 26:55Speaker 01

Oh, absolutely. With nothing but respect. So I couldn't wait and, and T and having T in that locker room and watching him practice and having a great understanding on his approach to the game of football. Man, that was a treat. And I think it's a treat. I've never had a, a chance to actually sit there and tell him how much I admired him in general as not only a player, but his approach to the game of football. And I got a better understanding on why he's one of the greatest.

• 27:20Theo Von?

  Really?

• 27:21Speaker 01

All time. Yeah, man. It was a joy.

• 27:22Theo Von?

Was his approach, like what made it so special, his approach? I know. I mean, there's rumors that he sleeps in like a barbaric chamber or something.

• 27:28Speaker 01

  Yeah, he does.

• 27:28Theo Von?

All of that shit. He's sleeping in like a hollowed out missile or whatever?

• 27:32Speaker 01

I'm the complete opposite. You know, T O was very massages, hyperbaric chamber, ice tub, cold tub. He eat right. Salad, all this stuff I didn't do. And I'm McDonald's, cigar. Cars, complete opposite, totally different sides of the spectrum. So it's just, just being around a man, it was such a joy. And I was a sponge and he doesn't even know it. I took as much as I could from him in that moment, you know, in that, in that year I had with him. And still to this day, um, very good friend of mine, man, very good friend.

• 28:03Theo Von?

• 32:03Theo Von?

Yeah, some things are interesting, like if you gain, like if you, if you get like some popularity in your life or something happens, you get to meet different people.

• 32:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 32:11Theo Von?

Well, it had to be crazy in your world because you kind of go from a college, right? And I know you went to SMC, I went to SMC.

• 32:16Speaker 01

  You did?

• 32:17Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 32:17Speaker 01

Yeah, I was, I was at SMC too, yeah.

• 32:19Theo Von?

Yeah, man. The SMC was wild, bro.

• 32:21Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 32:22Theo Von?

Because it, there was nowhere to fucking park. So dude, it was like, I would drive to school and if I didn't park, I wasn't learning, that was it.

• 32:29Speaker 01

  I took the bus.

• 32:29Theo Von?

  Yeah, oh damn, yeah.

• 32:31Speaker 01

Bus down Pico, I, I never forget. At that time, I had a young lady I was dating, uh, she lived in the jungles across from Dorsey High School, right off Coliseum in the third building, I, I'll never forget. And I would take the bus, I would take the bus to the school.

• 32:44Theo Von?

What was that like playing, because that was a community college, but it was probably a really good program they had? It was the best that they could have.

• 32:49Speaker 01

It was good, especially back then, obviously Steve Smith Sr.

• 32:52Theo Von?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 32:52Speaker 01

He was on the team with me and I, I needed that, I needed to get out of the environment out here in Miami to, to...

• 32:57Theo Von?

Because this is where you started out at?

• 32:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 32:59Theo Von?

With AB, was AB running when you were running?

• 33:01Speaker 01

Well, he was a little younger.

• 33:02Theo Von?

  Oh, he was?

• 33:02Speaker 01

AB, yeah, AB was a little younger.

• 33:03Theo Von?

But did you hear about him or no?

• 33:04Speaker 01

Yeah, I watched him in high school when he was at New Orleans. Yeah, I've been watching AB for years.

• 33:08Theo Von?

And his dad was also from Miami? Troy, uh...

• 33:11Speaker 01

  I'm not sure.

• 33:11Theo Von?

Was it Troy? Holly, uh, Touchdown Brown? Who was that right there? That's Eddie Brown, Touchdown Eddie Brown, that's AB's daddy. His father, uh...

• 33:22Speaker 01

  That's AB's dad?

• 33:23Theo Von?

  That's his dad.

• 33:23Speaker 01

  Serious?

• 33:24Theo Von?

Yeah, his father had the most touchdowns, he still holds a record, I think.

• 33:30Theo Von?

  Most touchdowns in arena football.

• 33:32Speaker 01

Wait, that's his dad for real?

• 33:33Theo Von?

  Mm-hmm.

• 33:34Speaker 01

  I didn't know that.

• 33:35Theo Von?

  Touchdown Eddie Brown.

• 33:37Speaker 01

  Oh, that's dope.

• 33:38Theo Von?

But I don't know how many siblings and stuff he has. How, but do you, he gets put on the CTE bus a lot, you know, he gets put on that baby bus.

• 33:45Speaker 01

  No, they, they, they, they...

• 33:46Theo Von?

Do you think that's true or do you think it's...

• 33:48Speaker 01

Nah, I, I, I think he knows what he's doing and he played into the CTE thing real well. And you know, his CTE, his CTE, E, S, S, P, N.

• 33:55Theo Von?

  Hilarious dude.

• 33:56Speaker 01

Hey, it, it's hilarious, it, it's hilarious, um...

• 33:59Theo Von?

And he's kind of bridging a little bit, he does a little bit of racial bridging, kind of.

• 34:04Speaker 01

Yeah, a little bit, a little bit.

• 34:05Theo Von?

Because he'll call people, you know, he'll call some guy a crack or some guy the N-word. He'll mix, he'll call an A's the N-word, he don't get, there's no...

• 34:12Speaker 01

He's, he's in a space right now where he knows what he's doing and he knows how to get that traction. He knows how to get that reaction, you know?

• 34:19Theo Von?

I cheer him on because I do find that it's interesting where he's at and I hope he can figure out the best way to manage it. I mean, look at this shit, bro.

• 34:27Speaker 01

Hey, listen, he's on a, he's on a historic run right now. He's on, he's on a historic run in his own lane, doing what he does.

• 34:37Speaker 01

I love him to death. I love him to death, you know, um, obviously a friend of mine before football.

• 34:42Theo Von?

  Oh, really?

• 34:43Speaker 01

Yeah, before football, yeah, it goes way back and that's someone I will always support, whether, whether it's up close, whether it's from afar. You know, his decisions that he makes, you know, that's him. He's a grown man, but there's one thing about him, I'm always loving.

• 34:56Theo Von?

He, no, that's nice to hear, man. Yeah, there's, I will say this, there's something extremely lovable about him, right?

• 35:03Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:03Theo Von?

It's like, whatever he does, or whatever he's like, anything he's saying, like, him as a person, he has such a, like a warm energy and smile. And now I haven't seen like a darker side of him, there may be, I don't know, but he's got such a smile that it's like, you wanna get on, you wanna hear what's gonna get, what's gonna happen with him.

• 35:20Speaker 01

Yeah, very interesting, very, very unpredictable.

• 35:23Theo Von?

  Unpredictable.

• 35:24Speaker 01

That's what makes, that's what makes it so awesome, cause you don't know what the fuck, excuse me, you don't know, you can curse?

• 35:29Theo Von?

  You can curse.

• 35:30Speaker 01

You don't know what the fuck is gonna happen next.

• 35:32Theo Von?

Cause I don't even think he know, he might know, but he, you're like, I'm gonna ride with him even if he doesn't.

• 35:38Speaker 01

Everything AB does right now is, is strategic. It's strategic, it's planned out, and he's two steps ahead of everybody else.

• 35:45Theo Von?

Yeah, I love hearing that. Yeah, Belichick really opened a portal with the dating a young lady, man.

• 35:50Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:51Theo Von?

  I mean, the portal.

• 35:52Speaker 01

Yeah, I had an opportunity to work with Bill this past season on NFL Films. So Bill was there with me and Ryan Clark and Chris Long.

• 35:59Theo Von?

And did you get to meet his girlfriend then?

• 36:00Speaker 01

  No, I don't, I don't, no, no, I didn't, I didn't meet her, I didn't meet her, I think I might, I might have saw her once, I mean.

• 36:05Theo Von?

People are over, they're almost overshadowing his acumen and what he's done with her, you know, the media will do that a lot of times.

• 36:12Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, I mean, Bill, Bill is Bill. Bill's gonna be able to do what he wants to do, uh, his resume speaks for itself. And, uh, I'm excited for Bill, obviously, and what he gonna do turning that UNC program around and getting another opportunity to coach in NFL. Now, what he decides to do with his personal life, that's one thing I stay away from, you know, I always stay away from stuff like that.

• 36:32Theo Von?

Yeah. Did, yeah, cause I'm trying to think, cause my dad was 70 when I was born, my mom was 32, right? So, they had, what is Bill's difference in it?

• 36:41Speaker 01

  Seventy-four and 23, right?

• 36:45Theo Von?

So yeah, I mean, you know, I didn't love having an old dad. If they had children, I don't know if I loved having an old dad because you know, it's like a limited time offer. You know, every time you see him, that shit, the clock is, you know, oh, the clock is ticking. Heaven's gonna make a draft pick, you know? So you start to see that forty nine year age gap, but who knows if they're in love?

• 37:05Speaker 01

Yeah, listen, love who loves you. Love who loves you. That's, that's, that's all I can say.

• 37:15Theo Von?

Do you feel like it's risky, like with athletes and stuff, there's a lot of like, you know, there's a lot of potential for to get in a sticky situations because a lot of athletes, they're, you know, they're, people know that they have money, they're, they're in great shape, you know? It seems to be like it happens more often than not these days.

• 37:38Speaker 01

Most definitely, most definitely. I mean, you gotta, you gotta be cautious. You, you gotta be weary and always understand that.

• 37:45Speaker 01

You know, sometimes most of those that you'll deal with, most of those who will deal with you is because of what you can do and not who you are.

• 37:52Theo Von?

How do you try and figure that out? Like, uh?

• 37:55Speaker 01

You can't, you can't, you can't figure it out because you always have to lead, lean into it with that same thought process.

• 38:04Theo Von?

  Like what are you saying?

• 38:06Speaker 01

You have to understand, especially when you have money and you have things going on for yourself, would you be able to get the same girl that's with you now if you didn't have it? Nine times, nine times out of ten, absolutely not. Not, that's just, that's reality. And that goes, that goes for every, that goes for any and everybody, you know? Like, that's just life. That's just the way it is. If you could, if you lost the ability to provide, the woman you're with right now, would she still be there?

• 38:31Theo Von?

And that's probably for any man, really almost in any space, if you lost the ability to provide, yeah.

• 38:36Speaker 01

Period. Or do the things or, or give her the lifestyle that you've been able to. What was she doing before you came along?

• 38:42Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 38:43Speaker 01

And look what you've done with that certain individual that you're with, you know? And depending on how much money you have, your leash is very long. And when things hit the roof, most of the time when she leaves you, she has to take that money with her to continue that lifestyle.

• 38:57Theo Von?

Oh, yeah, that's a tough spot then because your money is gonna get kinda divided up.

• 39:03Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:03Theo Von?

Do you have, you have a lot, you have a decent amount of children?

• 39:06Speaker 01

  Yeah, a lot, eighty-five.

• 39:08Theo Von?

You have eighty-five, is that your goal?

• 39:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:10Theo Von?

  God, boy, you gotta get.

• 39:12Speaker 01

But then also, the people I've had kids with, we were all on one accord.

• 39:17Theo Von?

  What does that mean?

• 39:18Speaker 01

I only dated women that were athletic. I'm not having kids just to, just to have kids.

• 39:23Theo Von?

Oh, so they have some strategy?

• 39:25Speaker 01

Yeah, there was strategy behind mine. I don't care about you being a bad bitch. I don't care about you being on IG with your ass out.

• 39:30Theo Von?

And no BBLs, all of that?

• 39:32Speaker 01

I don't, I mean, that's fine. Whatever you need to do to, to feel better about yourself, I'm fine with that. But I needed and only dated women that were athletic. So my kids had a head start on that foundation of athletic ability. That's it. So I look at women, I look at ankles.

• 39:47Theo Von?

Yeah, cuz I look at some track. Do you see some of them track women?

• 39:51Speaker 01

Yeah, my, my daughter run track at University of Kentucky now.

• 39:54Theo Von?

Oh, really? Yeah. Y'all live in Nashville, man, that's not far.

• 39:56Speaker 01

  For real?

• 39:57Theo Von?

Yeah, if you go up to a ga, if you go to see a meet, I'll come up there and meet up with you guys. In Lexington?

• 40:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:01Theo Von?

  Dude, that'd be awesome.

• 40:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:03Theo Von?

Cuz I bet they also run against LSU. I won't tell you if they run against LSU or Vanderbilt. Dude, that'd be sick, bro. I'll come up there, man.

• 40:10Speaker 01

Yeah, and I, I don't have, I never had, really have this. There she is. Yeah, this is when she was young.

• 40:14Theo Von?

  And she's good, huh?

• 40:15Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, she can go. She can go. She can't beat me, but she can go.

• 40:19Theo Von?

Do you think she'll be able to beat you at some point?

• 40:21Speaker 01

Absolutely not, because before my, any of my, hey, listen. Hey, listen, before my kids beat me in anything, I would trip her.

• 40:29Speaker 01

I'm just being honest. I would trip her before she beat me. Yeah, it's, yeah, not, not happening. Not happening.

• 40:36Theo Von?

Did, um, dang, so you, so was her mother athletic?

• 40:40Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm, absolutely.

• 40:42Theo Von?

Yeah, dude, you see those track ladies?

• 40:43Speaker 01

All, all of them. All, did you cheer? Did you play volleyball? Did you run track?

• 40:50Theo Von?

  Volleyball, yeah.

• 40:50Speaker 01

I mean, just, I just need to see.

• 40:51Theo Von?

But cheer, sometimes you get these little nuggets, they get them little McNuggets out there.

• 40:55Speaker 01

But I, I know, I can tell, because when I go on dates, I like to go places where you have to, you have to show me athletic ability. Go to Dave and Buster's, can you shoot? Now, if you don't have no form and can't shoot, I can't do nothing with you. Can we go bowling? Go roller skating?

• 41:08Theo Von?

  Oh, that's a good one.

• 41:09Speaker 01

So I, I hold my own, my own, um.

• 41:12Theo Von?

Roller skating, baby, that's ice skating for black people right there, that's what that is, dude.

• 41:16Speaker 01

Uh, the combine, I hold my own combine.

• 41:18Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 41:19Speaker 01

They think we're going on dates. Little do you know, I'm really, I'm taking notes. Okay, you can bowl. Okay, you don't really have any coordination skating, but I can work on that.

• 41:28Theo Von?

  Come on, Che.

• 41:28Speaker 01

Yeah, go, go to the gym, a gym date? Oh, please.

• 41:33Theo Von?

Take him to the gym on a second date?

• 41:35Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. First date, Dave and Buster's, you know, check out coordination, let me see how your lateral movement is. That's, that's, hey, you know, you laughing, that shit is important.

• 41:44Theo Von?

  No, look.

• 41:44Speaker 01

Sometimes, listen, you, I see some, some of these guys.

• 41:46Theo Von?

  No, that's a good point.

• 41:47Speaker 01

Yeah, they date women, oh, she's so fine, she's on IG live, she fine as hell, blah, blah, blah. You have a child, your child got two left feet, and you wonder why your child get picked last in PE.

• 41:57Theo Von?

Yeah, your child out there, he's swimming in a little circle.

• 41:59Speaker 01

Yeah, oh, they come home sad, uh, nobody pick me. Nah, fuck that.

• 42:03Theo Von?

Yeah, fuck that, dog. If you're, if you're, if, yeah. If she can't play kickball, I'm out.

• 42:09Speaker 01

  Oh, dude.

• 42:10Theo Von?

That's, because that's a good test of a lot of different sports at once.

• 42:13Speaker 01

  A lot.

• 42:13Theo Von?

Run and kick it at the same time.

• 42:15Speaker 01

You know how hard that is to do?

• 42:16Theo Von?

  Very tough.

• 42:17Speaker 01

The coordination to be able to run forward and kick in rhythm.

• 42:20Theo Von?

Yeah. That's the fucking Mozart of athletics to me, boy, kickball show you a lot.

• 42:25Speaker 01

  Yep, absolutely.

• 42:27Theo Von?

That's what I'm saying. This, but there's a lot of traps, a lot of people don't think like that, because you have to think too, like, do you, so do you think, do you think a lot of men, because I feel like a lot of, let me get this right, so in the NFL, they got a lot of guys, it seems like, who want to have a lot of children, right?

• 42:42Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 42:43Theo Von?

Do you think that that's true?

• 42:45Speaker 01

  No, I think at times.

• 42:47Theo Von?

Like, is that a stereotype? Or even in the black, with black community, do they have a lot of guys who want to have a lot of children?

• 42:52Speaker 01

Well, there are a lot of white guys too, they have a lot of kids as well.

• 42:55Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 42:55Speaker 01

But I think we just get caught up in the moment, most of the time, and I think our counterparts, on the other hand, um.

• 43:03Speaker 01

They have a little bit more, a little bit more discipline in that area. But I think they, they, they're not as bad as us, but also theirs is not-

• 43:09Theo Von?

What do you mean our counterparts?

• 43:10Speaker 01

  I mean, white, white guys.

• 43:12Theo Von?

Okay, so white guys versus black guys, yeah.

• 43:13Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, that's all.

• 43:14Theo Von?

And I'm not even looking at it like in a, I guess I am looking at it obviously in culture.

• 43:18Speaker 01

  Right.

• 43:18Theo Von?

I'm not really looking at it in race, but I'm looking at it in culture, right? So I'm thinking in black culture, is it more of a thing to have?

• 43:23Speaker 01

It ha- happens, it happens a lot because we get caught up in the moment.

• 43:26Theo Von?

  Okay.

• 43:27Speaker 01

We get caught up in the moment. Now, I, I'm, I'm one who, who's one of those-

• 43:30Theo Von?

And y'all like to spike the ball, yeah.

• 43:31Speaker 01

But for me, everything I've done was strategic and not done on purpose. There was a method to my madness. There's a method to my, nobody's, I'm not having kids, nobody's running to child support and, oh, chat, no, no. Because we all had one end goal, you understood what it was, and I also had kids with people that I've known before I even made it. So there were no ulterior motives, like most have when you meet them once you've already had money.

• 43:53Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 43:54Speaker 01

  So it's different.

• 43:55Theo Von?

Yeah, you need some thought of the equinox or something.

• 43:57Speaker 01

And you have a child and the first thing you wonder why things don't work out.

• 43:59Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 44:00Speaker 01

Not things most times don't work out.

• 44:01Theo Von?

But no, it's like, yeah, you don't know who you're, you don't, you're putting yourself at risk.

• 44:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, most definitely.

• 44:06Theo Von?

So you're saying instead of risk, straight, you have more strategy?

• 44:08Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, most definitely, most definitely, most definitely.

• 44:10Theo Von?

Yeah, cuz I just wonder, I, I sometimes I wonder in black culture, do they view, do black men view the world differently? Like, is there a, do they view it more as like a, I'm a king and this is my castle?

• 44:23Speaker 01

  Nah, I don't, I don't.

• 44:24Theo Von?

You know, that's just how I wonder sometimes, or like, yeah, like, is there a strategy sometimes?

• 44:29Speaker 01

Well, I gave, I gave you mine.

• 44:31Theo Von?

  Right.

• 44:31Speaker 01

And I've, I've always lived by that, no matter who it was. I don't care how fine you are. I'm not here to raise models. I want athletes. So therefore, I'm gonna procreate with those-

• 44:39Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 44:39Speaker 01

  Who give me just that.

• 44:40Theo Von?

You might start a little dynasty.

• 44:42Speaker 01

Now, you, you, you, listen, you'll have, yeah, have fun and go on dates and-

• 44:45Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 44:45Speaker 01

And for, for those who, who are not that, but when it comes to having kids, oh, oh, honey, uh-uh. I don't care how fine you are.

• 44:54Theo Von?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. You got a kid, your kid walking at three weeks.

• 44:58Speaker 01

  Running at four.

• 45:00Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 45:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 45:01Theo Von?

For a first, first birthday, you get him a hurdle.

• 45:06Theo Von?

Um, do you think, what else am I thinking about?

• 45:11Theo Von?

Do you think, uh, do you think there's a lot of gay, they just had a guy, they were talking about a gay gentleman in the NFL. Do you think there's more gay men in the NFL that we just don't know about?

• 45:23Speaker 01

  Absolutely.

• 45:24Theo Von?

And they're afraid to say it?

• 45:25Speaker 01

They, they probably don't want to, it'd make, make people uncomfortable.

• 45:28Theo Von?

And the media would make it a big deal, yeah?

• 45:30Speaker 01

Yeah, absolutely. I'm, I'm sure it is. I'm sure it is. And I, this, I wouldn't, I wouldn't have a problem with it. You know, because I'd be the one making jokes.

• 45:37Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 45:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, I, I, listen, I'd be the one making jokes. I don't care what you are, gay, trans, A, B, C. I don't care. I'm, I'm accepting of all.

• 45:45Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 45:46Speaker 01

  And I, I would, I would have, I would have a time.

• 45:47Theo Von?

  Cut up on them.

• 45:48Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely.

• 45:50Theo Von?

And it's probably for the best, because if you get some good jokes going, that's the thing about joking all the time. It's like they tried to make joking a crime over the past like 10 years.

• 45:58Speaker 01

Everything is, everybody's a lot, very sensitive.

• 46:00Theo Von?

Yeah. That's one reason I like AB is because he just, you know in his heart that he probably don't have a lot of malice in that world.

• 46:09Speaker 01

  Right.

• 46:10Theo Von?

But he likes to have fun, you know? That's one thing I think that black culture does better than white culture does is tell jokes, dude. If you get around and you start clowning on somebody, but you're right there with them, they know you were supporting.

• 46:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 46:23Theo Von?

But man, that's shit. And then you know the next bullet is coming, the next time they get a chance, it's coming for you.

• 46:29Speaker 01

  Yeah, most definitely.

• 46:30Theo Von?

  That's the most fun, dude.

• 46:31Speaker 01

Yeah, I don't, I don't know why, why people are, uh, they, they call it homophobic, you know, I, I think. And, um, I think that's one of the reasons a lot of players don't want to come out, you know, or people in general that might swing the other way. I mean, shoot, fuck it. Just, it is, it's who you live in your truth.

• 46:47Theo Von?

And plus, they got some gangster gay dudes out there now, bro. It's not like the gay dudes 20 years ago.

• 46:52Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, everybody was feminine, nah.

• 46:54Theo Von?

Yeah, they was hot and whatever, drawing a rainbow bride or something.

• 46:59Speaker 01

They got gay dudes to beat your ass.

• 47:00Theo Von?

  God.

• 47:00Speaker 01

Literally. Literally. Listen, I've, I've always been fond of that, that, that community. They've always showed love to me and I've always showed love back.

• 47:07Theo Von?

Oh, yeah, they got some severe gay dudes. That's a song right there by Eves.

• 47:25Theo Von?

I didn't know they had this song.

• 47:27Speaker 01

I never, I never heard this.

• 47:28Theo Von?

  Who sings that? That's great.

• 47:35Speaker 01

Yeah, it's funny, it's funny, especially where we are in the world right now.

• 47:39Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 47:39Speaker 01

That some people, based on occupation and based on what you do, you really can't come out because it can jeopardize what you have going on.

• 47:46Theo Von?

But it feels like the only place that is kind of, well, maybe there's, I'm sure there's probably like some like, probably farming communities, like, uh, you know, I bet there's probably farming communities and maybe the, and maybe athletics, but I don't know, in women's athletics, it's accepted.

• 48:01Speaker 01

  Oh, it's accepted, yeah.

• 48:02Theo Von?

It's probably just in men's athletics. Do you think that there's a, if you took the gay players from all the teams, you think you could make a, you think you could make a gay team in the NFL?

• 48:11Speaker 01

  No, probably not.

• 48:12Theo Von?

So you don't think there's enough gay men to make a team?

• 48:14Speaker 01

  No, no, not that many.

• 48:15Theo Von?

Which division you think in the NFL probably have the most gay players?

• 48:18Speaker 01

  I have no idea. That's a, that's a good one. I have no idea because I don't know, I don't know everybody's preference.

• 48:23Theo Von?

Right, but if you had to guess even just by looking at some, let's pull up the, just pull up the, uh...

• 48:28Speaker 01

That's the funny thing about it. You can't look at somebody and tell.

• 48:31Theo Von?

No, you can't, but I'm just saying, look at some of these records, though. The Cowboys, bro, hey, come on. That's last year, no? Oh, okay.

• 48:40Speaker 01

Hey, that's a, that's a good one. I mean, to be able to statistically rate how many people would be, you, you would never know.

• 48:48Theo Von?

Right, you would never know, but it's fun to guess with your friends. But I will say this, uh, I, I think it would be great if they had a gay team.

• 48:58Speaker 01

  You think so?

• 48:59Theo Von?

Yeah, because you know how many people would support them?

• 49:01Speaker 01

Yeah, oh, they, it would be huge.

• 49:03Theo Von?

People always want the underdog, right? They always want the underdog.

• 49:06Speaker 01

Would they really be the underdog?

• 49:08Theo Von?

  I, that's a good point.

• 49:10Speaker 01

Would they really be the underdog?

• 49:11Theo Von?

Right, but I think they would be billed as the underdog.

• 49:14Speaker 01

  Right, just in general.

• 49:15Theo Von?

Right, in general, that's a good point. That's a fair statement. Would they actually physically in capability be the underdog? No, we have no idea.

• 49:23Speaker 01

  Right.

• 49:23Theo Von?

Because we, we don't know what the team is, but I think they would get billed as this underdog, which would give them a chip on their shoulder type of mentality, you know? I think it's one of the same reasons why you see like...

• 49:34Speaker 01

Oh, they have a, a national gay football league?

• 49:36Theo Von?

They got a squad already. I'm telling you, bro, we're getting close. And everybody throw with their left arm in that thing, boy. Yeah, look at that!

• 49:48Speaker 01

  I didn't, I didn't know they had that.

• 49:52Theo Von?

Oh, I bet that's hype. Dude, I went to the, uh, women's, um, lingerie bowl one time.

• 49:59Speaker 01

Hmm, I remember lingerie football used to be huge.

• 50:02Theo Von?

  They hit each other.

• 50:04Speaker 01

They go crazy. I've seen some of the clips on Twitter.

• 50:06Theo Von?

And they were beautiful, too. Gosh.

• 50:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 50:10Theo Von?

  Oh.

• 50:10Speaker 01

I like, I like the outfits.

• 50:12Theo Von?

  God, yeah.

• 50:13Speaker 01

  I like the outfits.

• 50:13Theo Von?

Shoulder pads, legs, breasts, knees, everything, head, arms.

• 50:18Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 50:19Theo Von?

God, that shit was nice. Um, yeah, right here.

• 50:23Speaker 01

And they would talk, they talk a lot of trash.

• 50:25Theo Von?

They talk a lot of shit right there. They'd be like, bitch, I'm gonna knock your ovaries out.

• 50:32Theo Von?

  Gangster shit like that.

• 50:34Speaker 01

  This is dope.

• 50:35Theo Von?

I'm gonna knock your nipples off. They say shit like that.

• 50:39Speaker 01

Hey, they, I wonder, do they still, they don't have this anymore, huh?

• 50:42Theo Von?

  I don't know.

• 50:44Theo Von?

Have you ever considered investing in a type of, uh, athletic league?

• 50:47Speaker 01

  Nah, nah.

• 50:50Speaker 01

No, I, I would stick to the things I know and that, that is, that is cigars.

• 50:55Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 50:56Speaker 01

Cigars and kids, those are my investments.

• 50:58Theo Von?

Okay, yeah, yeah. Do you think they have, one last question on gay players, you think they got enough? Oh, oh, Ocho, tell me this, you think they got enough gay players in the NFL to beat? The Jets?

• 51:15Theo Von?

  Be real with me, Ocho.

• 51:16Speaker 01

I have no idea. You would have to go by position. Is there one gay player to each position that is one of the best in the game at their position?

• 51:26Speaker 01

But even then, I'm not sure. The Jets obviously looked bad last year. Ain't no telling. Ain't no telling how they gonna be this year now that they have a quarterback in Justin Fields. So we'll see what happens. That's a good question.

• 51:38Theo Von?

I would like to see that.

• 51:39Speaker 01

  I like that hypothetical.

• 51:40Theo Von?

Thank you, sir. I would love to see that. And who would I even cheer for in that? I would cheer for the gay team.

• 51:46Speaker 01

  I probably would, too.

• 51:47Theo Von?

Yeah. I'd be out there, shit, I would coach, I'm a water boy, them dogs. I'd be out there water boiling, dude. We got a little bit of zest sauce for everybody in the huddle.

• 51:59Theo Von?

How tough is it for a player if you're going to a new team? If you know that the quarterback hasn't had a ton of success? Is that a tough spot to be in? How do you manage your expectations? Like, you know, you're going to a team where? You know, maybe you leaving a team that had like a Drew Brees or a Tom Brady, right? And you know the balls are coming, right? And you know they're gonna be in a vicinity where you can catch them. And you know there's gonna be 30 passes a game. And then you, you get into a spot where um you're at a quarterback that's gonna throw 22 passes a game. And he's maybe gonna get 170 yards out of him, 140 yards, you know?

• 52:33Speaker 01

It all depends on the quarterback and the offense you go to. And how much they're gonna use you. It's all on how good you are. Obviously, if you go to another team, most of the time, you're not who you thought you were.

• 52:45Theo Von?

  Ooh.

• 52:46Speaker 01

  Most of the time.

• 52:47Theo Von?

So you have to think about that. If you weren't, if you weren't regarded that much that they're keeping you, you're not who you thought you were.

• 52:52Speaker 01

Unless you're on the back end of your career. Normally, once a player hits year 10, they move on from regards to who you are, no matter how good you are. You know, Jerry Rice, T.O., Randy Moss. At some point, teams moved, even moved on from them. And we talk about some of the greats, you know, greats ever. But when it happens early, you know, you're in year three or year four, it is time to look in the mirror and say, how can I make myself more valuable? If they were willing to move on from me?

• 53:21Theo Von?

And what are ways you think that players can do that? Like, what can you do to make yourself?

• 53:24Speaker 01

You gotta work on your craft. You gotta, you gotta work on your craft. How, there are players coming in year in, year out, always. But how can I continue to main, make sure my value stays at a high level?

• 53:36Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 53:36Speaker 01

Where, to where, no matter who's coming out, you won't be able to get this kind of production from anyone else.

• 53:43Speaker 01

And that's, that's, that's the fight every year. You got somebody coming behind you.

• 53:46Theo Von?

You ever realize that you spent your entire morning thinking about lunch? It's 9 a.m. and somehow I'm already in negotiations with myself about how I'm gonna spend $20 on a sandwich at noon. And then I eat it, or you eat it, or somebody eats it. And then an hour later, you're just standing in the kitchen worrying about what you'll do for? Dinner. And that's one reason why I've been into Huell. The Black Edition Powder is a complete meal you have instead of food, not a shake on top of food. Dads are mysterious creatures. I think that's undeniable. One moment they're rewiring the lawnmower with duct tape and old shoelaces,

• 55:13Theo Von?

and the next they're trimming their nose hairs with a pocket knife in the rearview mirror. Way to go, dad. They say they don't want anything, but trust me, what they need is a grooming upgrade. • 57:39Theo Von?

Yeah, I'm friends with Jordan Matthews, he played for Philadelphia and now he played for Carolina. And he's getting into later years of his career. But it's interesting to see him go there and now, like he is a little bit more of like a leadership role, you know? Lead by example, show up, like J. Matt shows up every day, you know? Great attitude, great energy. But it's just interesting to see what happens to guys as they get later in their career and how do they still make themselves valuable?

• 58:01Speaker 01

  Yeah, in other ways.

• 58:02Theo Von?

  To a squad, you know?

• 58:03Speaker 01

In other ways outside of production.

• 58:05Theo Von?

Yeah, and that's, you believe that, that's what?

• 58:07Speaker 01

Yeah, absolutely, absolutely. Veteran leadership, you know, around a bunch of young guys, someone that conducts themselves the right way in the locker room. A good locker room presence can can can carry you on an extra two or three years in NFL.

• 58:18Theo Von?

  So that's not a myth?

• 58:19Speaker 01

Oh, no, absolutely. They, you know, coaches like that. Coaches like that. A good guy, clean guy. One that you know not going to have any problems. He's going to show the young dudes on how to work, how to work on your craft and approach and study, study film and stuff like that. That's very valuable outside of production.

• 58:35Theo Von?

Amen. Do you think, when you look at your career, do you think you could have operated differently in some years to get, have gotten more out of yourself, right? We all look, you know, because I'm critical of myself, right? You know, I look back and I want to do the best I can, even though I don't know what it is sometimes, but I want to do my best. And sometimes I'll look at certain interviews, like I interviewed Mark Zuckerberg a couple of weeks ago from the Facebook guy, you know?

• 58:59Speaker 01

  Right, right, right, right.

• 59:00Theo Von?

And I like, I should have done, I knew I could have done better. I think I had like a little bit of a plan, but I think I got nervous. And so when I look back on that, I'm like, man, I wish I would have asked some things that were more important.

• 59:11Speaker 01

  Right.

• 59:11Theo Von?

Things I really wanted to ask, but I was afraid to.

• 59:14Speaker 01

  Right.

• 59:15Theo Von?

Do you look back in certain years of your career, you're like, yeah, I could have done some things differently at this time, either I was younger or I was...

• 59:21Speaker 01

I mean, when I look back at my career, I would have done everything I did, plus more. Because I had some great ideas that I didn't get a chance to do, you know?

• 59:29Theo Von?

Like, what do you mean by that?

• 59:30Speaker 01

I mean, just the fun. The fun. I would, I would have pushed the envelope even more.

• 59:36Theo Von?

Really just having a good time?

• 59:37Speaker 01

Having a good time. Because, listen, NFL is not for long. And I had a short window to maximize as much as I could, not out of myself and out of the NFL. And I did, I did just that, which is one of the reasons why I'm still going to this day, pushing forward.

• 59:51Theo Von?

But looking back, you're like, man, if I'd have known what I know now, if I'd have known then what I know now, then I could have done even more, right?

• 59:58Speaker 01

  Yeah, most definitely, but that...

• 1:00:00Theo Von?

Like, is that what you mean? Or do you mean like physically training more? Like, do you feel like...

• 1:00:03Speaker 01

No, no, no, no, just my approach to the game in general, just on field stuff.

• 1:00:07Theo Von?

So what do you, why, do you feel like your attitude was different at certain years?

• 1:00:10Speaker 01

No, I was the same always. I was always authentic in myself. What you see right now off camera or on camera, it's the same way I was on field.

• 1:00:17Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:17Speaker 01

No, that wasn't, that wasn't a character. That was really me. And I just chose not to conform and not... To behave the way they said I should.

• 1:00:25Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:00:25Speaker 01

The way I played in NFL, the same way I played when I was in high school. It was the same way I played when I was in Pop Warner. Just because you've paid me millions of dollars. I'm not changing who I am just for that. Absolutely not.

• 1:00:36Theo Von?

Did you ever have teams try to like tell you to pipe like?

• 1:00:38Speaker 01

  No, they loved it.

• 1:00:39Theo Von?

  Never.

• 1:00:40Speaker 01

They loved it. The referees loved it. Opposing teams, coaches loved it. Opposing teams, players loved it. Everything, everything I did.

• 1:00:46Theo Von?

I could see that because there's this kind of a thing like even if somebody's the enemy, if they're an enjoyable enemy. Do you kind of just thankful to have somebody around that's going to keep you entertained? That's going to keep things fun.

• 1:00:57Speaker 01

Not only entertainment, but what I brought to the game and those I'm playing against. It was nothing but a competitive nature. Nothing I did was malicious.

• 1:01:07Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:07Speaker 01

But you knew one thing, if we playing Ocho or we playing the Bengals in general, I got to come to play. Because I'm gonna challenge you during the week through the media.

• 1:01:14Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:15Speaker 01

I sent, I sent gifts to the defenses we were playing, to the secondaries, just to make it fun.

• 1:01:20Theo Von?

What kind of stuff, like high heels or something?

• 1:01:22Speaker 01

No, no, like Pepto bit, I sent Pepto Bismol to the Browns. I sent, um, I sent.

• 1:01:27Theo Von?

Oh, because you about to deal with this shit, huh?

• 1:01:28Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm gonna make you sick to your stomach.

• 1:01:32Speaker 01

I sent gifts to the Falcons before, uh, who else? The Steelers, I sent, I sent them some. Uh, just, just, just fun, man. Just fun stuff. And they would, they would always get the packages Saturday morning. Look.

• 1:01:47Theo Von?

Bruh, you're like a fucking dangerous Santa.

• 1:01:51Speaker 04

I was going to make them sick or they were going to get sick of covering me. So here's some Pepto A at a time.

• 1:01:57Speaker 01

  All fun.

• 1:01:58Theo Von?

That's hilarious. Can really affect a defense, you think? Just their mentality?

• 1:02:04Speaker 01

It messes them up because if you get, if you go out there and you trying to kill me, that lets me know you're out of control. You're out of control. So I, I do stuff like that. If I can, I like to play mental gymnastics.

• 1:02:15Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:16Speaker 01

If I can get you out of your game, if I can get you talking to me in the middle of a game, I got a, I got a little edge on you. A little edge on you, just, just, I did that, that small.

• 1:02:24Theo Von?

Cause if you're worried about me personally, you're not worried about me as a player.

• 1:02:26Speaker 01

Bingo, and you're not worried about the game in general as a whole itself.

• 1:02:30Theo Von?

Damn, dude, stuff like that is so true. It's like, cause you, cause even when you say if you look back on a, on a moment in your life, and you're like, damn, I could have been a little bit more locked in, or I let this get me a little, and it did affect me. And that happens.

• 1:02:43Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:02:44Theo Von?

So then if you think that of a head that way, you think if I can cause that to them,

• 1:02:48Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:02:49Theo Von?

that, and I know that that outcome really occurs, then that, then that, me causing that is worthwhile.

• 1:02:55Speaker 01

  Yeah, absolutely.

• 1:02:56Theo Von?

  That's so true.

• 1:02:57Speaker 01

The funny thing about it is, is being out of control and trying to hurt an individual that you're playing against, which is what happened to me every game, I had no problem because I, I enjoyed playing very calm under chaos. So you're gonna be chaotic.

• 1:03:10Theo Von?

  Right.

• 1:03:11Speaker 01

I'm gonna be nice and relaxed and calm, and you being angry, that split second of anger, you're gonna miss.

• 1:03:17Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:03:18Speaker 01

You're gonna whiff. You know, is this, the, the game of football is a game of inches.

• 1:03:22Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:23Speaker 01

And once I know I'm in your head, I'm gonna always have that half inch over you. Every time.

• 1:03:29Theo Von?

Who, who hit you the hardest when you were playing, do you feel like?

• 1:03:31Speaker 01

  Brian Russell.

• 1:03:32Theo Von?

  Brian Russell?

• 1:03:33Speaker 01

Brian Russell, Cleveland Browns, garbage time, Carson threw a slant over the middle.

• 1:03:39Theo Von?

  And he got you.

• 1:03:39Speaker 01

Game is over, there was no reason I was supposed to be in the game, and I was, I was knocked out. There, watch this, up top, all the way up top.

• 1:03:47Theo Von?

  Ooh, oh god.

• 1:03:50Speaker 01

And that is the one hit I, the one hit I took and was concussed.

• 1:03:55Theo Von?

Yeah. And did he even call or email you?

• 1:03:59Speaker 01

Nah, he didn't, he nothing. It was, it was good. I enjoyed it. You see the score line, huh?

• 1:04:03Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:03Speaker 01

Thirty-four, ten. Why am I, why am I even in the game? And it's what, a minute going on the clock?

• 1:04:09Theo Von?

But real talk though, if they'd have taken you out of the game at this point, would you have been upset? Do you guys wanna be in there getting stats, or what's it really like?

• 1:04:15Speaker 01

You know, I don't know why we were in the game at that point. I'm, I'm not sure. That, that game was over. Obviously the Battle of Ohio, one of the, one of the biggest games for us.

• 1:04:22Theo Von?

That's a good point. People came, maybe they don't wanna see the stars the whole time.

• 1:04:25Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 1:04:25Theo Von?

When you, uh, was there a quarterback that you? Do you feel like you got the best opportunity with your quarterback?

• 1:04:30Speaker 01

  Yeah, hell yeah. Carson?

• 1:04:32Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:32Speaker 01

  Absolutely.

• 1:04:33Theo Von?

I just don't know. You don't know if people are sitting there thinking like.

• 1:04:35Speaker 01

And whoever the quarterback is didn't matter.

• 1:04:38Theo Von?

  You don't think so?

• 1:04:39Speaker 01

No, because I'm coming in and my skill set was at a point and how I felt was I'm gonna make your job easy. Barbara Kelsey was the coordinator. When we played, I'm making your job easy. If you know you need to play and you need to catch or you need to, whatever it may be, you know who's number to call.

• 1:04:57Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:04:57Speaker 01

That's my mindset. Like, I don't, I don't need you to be great throwing the ball. Just put it in the area, just anywhere in the area. I'll take it, I'll take it a rest.

• 1:05:06Theo Von?

Was there, do you think players sometimes like at the end of games are like asking coaches, hey, give me, trade for me or something like that? People secretly like.

• 1:05:15Speaker 01

Yeah, that happens all the time. Yeah, that, now that happens all the time. No.

• 1:05:20Theo Von?

So people say it quick in that quick little hug, hey, trade me.

• 1:05:23Speaker 01

  Trade for me, yeah, absolutely.

• 1:05:24Theo Von?

Trade for me, trade for me. Damn, because you wanted them hugs are fast, but sometimes you see their mouth moving.

• 1:05:30Speaker 01

Yeah, that's why you see players always cover their mouth. But it's hard now because everybody's mic'd up.

• 1:05:35Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:05:36Speaker 01

Everybody's mic'd up, so, yeah, that happens though. That's a good one.

• 1:05:40Theo Von?

Do you feel like it's a, uh,

• 1:05:44Theo Von?

I wish I had me a cigar. I would try one, man. I should have got one. If I catch up with you this weekend, I'll get Elliot one.

• 1:05:50Speaker 01

  I got, how long?

• 1:05:51Theo Von?

  You have your own brand?

• 1:05:52Speaker 01

  Yeah, eighty-five, remember?

• 1:05:54Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:05:56Speaker 01

  Yeah, I don't, I don't.

• 1:05:56Theo Von?

Bring them up. Let me get a look, let me get a gander at them dogs right there. And where do y'all get that, uh,

• 1:06:04Theo Von?

where do y'all get the, um,

• 1:06:05Speaker 01

  DR. Dominican, in the DR.

• 1:06:09Theo Von?

Not lettuce, what's it called? Nicotine lettuce?

• 1:06:11Speaker 01

  The leaf, tobacco.

• 1:06:12Theo Von?

  Tobacco.

• 1:06:13Speaker 01

Yeah, in DR. Now we, we do mass production.

• 1:06:16Theo Von?

Y'all get down there in Dominican Republic, huh?

• 1:06:18Speaker 01

Yeah, now we distribute from Nicaragua now.

• 1:06:21Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:06:21Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:22Theo Von?

That's where my dad's from, man.

• 1:06:23Speaker 01

For real? That's dope. That's dope.

• 1:06:26Theo Von?

  That's crazy, bro.

• 1:06:28Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:06:29Theo Von?

Wow, what are the odds of that, man? Buah vidas.

• 1:06:32Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm. The good life, baby.

• 1:06:37Theo Von?

Do you think, uh, is this a make or break year for Joe Burrow? Tell me what you think. What do you think, Ocho?

• 1:06:42Speaker 01

No, not make or break. Fuck, no.

• 1:06:44Theo Von?

  You don't think so?

• 1:06:45Speaker 01

No, absolutely not. Make or break what? He ain't going nowhere?

• 1:06:47Theo Von?

  I know.

• 1:06:48Speaker 01

  He ain't going nowhere.

• 1:06:49Theo Von?

But in the perception of, maybe in the perception of fans, you think it's,

• 1:06:52Speaker 01

  No, I wouldn't call it.

• 1:06:53Theo Von?

They got a great offense, you know?

• 1:06:54Speaker 01

  Crazy offense.

• 1:06:55Theo Von?

I agree, but they, so at that point, if you, if you're gonna give up 35 points, you gotta be able to score 40.

• 1:07:00Speaker 01

Bingo. Like, I'm glad you said that. Now, what we do need to do is we need to start fast. We just start early, you know, in the beginning of the season, you know, losing to the Patriots. Um, the way we did in the beginning of the season, it hurt us on the, on the back end. We need to start fast. We don't have to rile on other teams to lose or win. For us to have an opportunity to get into playoffs. I don't, nobody wants to see us offensively if we make it into the playoffs.

• 1:07:22Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:23Speaker 01

Ravens, very good. Bills, very good. Chiefs, very good. And that will always be the three or four teams that are in, in the hunt every, every season.

• 1:07:33Theo Von?

Who, who's a team you think coming this year might actually have a, that, that's gonna be something different, do you think?

• 1:07:38Speaker 01

Ooh, that's a good one. That's a good one. There's always a surprise team every year.

• 1:07:44Theo Von?

Cause I'm a Saints guy. The Saints started off last year, they had two big games out of the gate. They beat Dallas by 30, they scored over 40 the first two games.

• 1:07:51Speaker 01

  And then it went bad.

• 1:07:51Theo Von?

  I mean, went so sour.

• 1:07:53Speaker 01

So I, I have no idea. And it's hard to tell. You know, you have, you have some special players that have, that have gotten drafted. So we're gonna see how they can impact the game early and impact that team in general.

• 1:08:03Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:08:04Speaker 01

So I'm, I'm curious. I'm excited to see, you know, what, what Travis Hunter does in Jacksonville. I'm excited to see what Abdul Carter does, uh, Jackson Dart, who is

• 1:08:14Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:08:14Speaker 01

Who's over in New York now.

• 1:08:16Theo Von?

That's true. He's with the Giants, right?

• 1:08:18Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. He'll probably, he'll probably sit down and, and Russell will be at the helm.

• 1:08:21Theo Von?

That's gonna be a pressure some market over there, but it'll be interesting, cause Russell, you don't really know how it's gonna go.

• 1:08:25Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah. But listen, they, they got Malik Neighbors, so they, they gonna be alright.

• 1:08:29Theo Von?

LSU got Washington commanders right there. I'm excited for them.

• 1:08:33Speaker 01

They're gonna always be in the hunt every year. Every football team in NFL is a quarterback away from being in contention year in and year out. The commanders have their quarterback for the next decade.

• 1:08:43Theo Von?

Why is it so hard to have, because usually you have about six, 17, 18 that have good quarterbacks, right? The quarterback does well that year. Why is it so hard to have that position be good?

• 1:08:53Speaker 01

Well, it's hard to find a quarterback that's good.

• 1:08:55Theo Von?

  But it's crazy. There's a ton of, it's like.

• 1:08:57Speaker 01

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not a ton of quarterbacks. You have tier ones, you know, your tier one quarterbacks are hard to come by.

• 1:09:03Theo Von?

200 NCAA team and you have a lot of guys that can play quarterback.

• 1:09:06Speaker 01

  They're not that good.

• 1:09:07Theo Von?

  Right.

• 1:09:07Speaker 01

They're not that good. There's a reason why, you know, your Patrick Mahomes, your Joe Burrows, Lamar Jackson, your Josh Allens.

• 1:09:14Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:09:16Speaker 01

Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Jordan Love, Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence should be in that conversation.

• 1:09:24Theo Von?

  CJ Stroud, maybe?

• 1:09:25Speaker 01

  CJ Stroud.

• 1:09:26Theo Von?

You got guys that are right there in that second range.

• 1:09:28Speaker 01

Yeah, those are tier one quarterbacks or should be based on their talent, but I don't know.

• 1:09:35Theo Von?

But then you get a guy like Andy Dalton, he's a game manager, does a good job, right? But never can kind of get over that, like nine and seven or six and eight. He never can really. It just kind of amazes me sometimes. I'm like, you'd think that they would just try to put anybody in there, give them a shot.

• 1:09:49Speaker 01

Nah, it doesn't work that way. You put anybody in there, you'll be home. You put anybody in there, that's how coaches get fired.

• 1:09:54Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:09:55Speaker 01

  You're getting fired.

• 1:09:56Theo Von?

Do you ever think of coaching, getting into it?

• 1:09:58Speaker 01

  Absolutely not.

• 1:09:59Theo Von?

  No?

• 1:09:59Speaker 01

No, they don't pay enough and I make more now doing what I'm doing. I make more now than when I was playing.

• 1:10:06Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 1:10:07Speaker 01

  So I'm good.

• 1:10:08Theo Von?

And that's such a blessing because dude, a lot of guys, their career, it's hard enough to get out of college, get on an NFL team.

• 1:10:14Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:10:15Theo Von?

And then that is huge for those guys, make, get the bread while you can get there. But then to have a career after that, it's like I'm looking at the busting with the boys guys like Taylor Luan and Will Compton.

• 1:10:25Speaker 01

  Yeah, they're good.

• 1:10:26Theo Von?

They got in early. They have a great space now. Like they're so much like, they have like a real imprint in society, you know?

• 1:10:34Speaker 01

Yeah, they do. They're doing really well.

• 1:10:36Theo Von?

It's cool. It's cool to see that kind of stuff.

• 1:10:38Speaker 01

Pat McAfee did it, did it well with his as well.

• 1:10:40Theo Von?

Oh dude, yeah, he's, nobody's like him.

• 1:10:42Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:10:43Theo Von?

There's nobody like him, man. Yeah, I'm trying to think of what else is going on, man. That's interesting to create a family based on I'm building for success, right?

• 1:10:53Speaker 01

  Absolutely.

• 1:10:53Theo Von?

Is it hard to manage that big of a family with that many children? What's that like really?

• 1:10:57Speaker 01

I run a tight ship. Everybody here running tight ship. Those I have kids from, we have the same end goal. We got the same end goal, and those I have kids from, awesome mothers. Awesome mothers, no issues, no nothing.

• 1:11:09Theo Von?

How do you pick a good mother then? That's an even, that's an important question, I think. Cause a lot of people, they'll just, you know, I don't ever do no ejaculation inside of women in my life.

• 1:11:19Speaker 01

You know, you'll never know, you know that? What a good mother is. But those I have.

• 1:11:24Theo Von?

Oh, you don't think you can tell? Just get.

• 1:11:26Speaker 01

There's no way to tell. How would, how would you, it's impossible.

• 1:11:28Theo Von?

Well, I'm just saying, if you meet a lady and they're a good lady.

• 1:11:31Speaker 01

I mean, being a good lady doesn't mean you'll be a good mother. You know? And I only date women that already have kids.

• 1:11:37Theo Von?

Hmm, you can get a, you can take that kid off to the side and say, hey, man. What plays y'all calling around here?

• 1:11:43Speaker 01

  It's just weird, just weird.

• 1:11:45Theo Von?

  What's the defense she's running?

• 1:11:46Speaker 01

You gotta have two or more kids.

• 1:11:48Theo Von?

  Yeah, that's a thing.

• 1:11:50Speaker 01

Yeah, you got to. Because, I mean, for me, dating a woman with no kids, they never have fucking food at home.

• 1:11:57Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:11:58Speaker 01

They always want to go out to eat.

• 1:12:00Theo Von?

  Yeah. Oh, yeah.

• 1:12:02Speaker 01

You know what it's like? No, Theo, I don't know if you experienced this. Like, you know what it's like to have sex with someone that has kids? And wake up at three, three thirty in the morning, get a fucking Capri Sun?

• 1:12:10Theo Von?

Hmm, that's good. Oh, oh, bruh.

• 1:12:14Speaker 01

  That's fucking amazing.

• 1:12:15Theo Von?

Bro, I make, with half a mouthful of Lunchable, I'll make love all night.

• 1:12:18Speaker 01

Yes, see, that's what I'm talking about.

• 1:12:19Theo Von?

That's who I am, boy. With a jaw full of them little shaped, little ham, them ham.

• 1:12:25Speaker 01

  That's important to me.

• 1:12:26Theo Von?

  God, I love that.

• 1:12:27Speaker 01

  Having snacks in the pantry.

• 1:12:28Theo Von?

That's good, dude. Cause you kind of get to be a kid and a, a husband at the same time in a way.

• 1:12:33Speaker 01

  Bingo, yeah.

• 1:12:34Theo Von?

  That's interesting.

• 1:12:35Speaker 01

I just, those are, those are my rules. Everyone, some people, oh, she has kids, I don't care.

• 1:12:40Theo Von?

Oh, and if you wake up in the middle of the night, you could play video games too.

• 1:12:43Speaker 01

Oh, my God, we on the same page.

• 1:12:46Theo Von?

You wake the kid up, I'll go another room, wake the little fucking, little Randall up.

• 1:12:50Speaker 01

Hey, let's run, let's run Call of Duty real quick.

• 1:12:51Theo Von?

  Yeah, Randall, get up.

• 1:12:52Speaker 01

Let's go do it, let's run duos.

• 1:12:54Theo Von?

I'm like, you about to get schooled right now, motherfucker.

• 1:12:57Speaker 01

I love it, I love it.

• 1:12:58Theo Von?

  Let's do it.

• 1:12:59Speaker 01

Especially if, especially if she has older kids.

• 1:13:01Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:02Speaker 01

Oh, that's perfect. Oh, that's perfect.

• 1:13:05Theo Von?

  Dang, that's a great point.

• 1:13:06Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, that's just me. Everyone else's thought processes and thought process and approach to dealing with women isn't like mine. And that, that, that's fine.

• 1:13:14Theo Von?

Well, yeah, a lot of people, yeah, they just, but it's risky out there. I think having some strategy as to what you do with your own seed is important.

• 1:13:21Speaker 01

  Very.

• 1:13:22Theo Von?

Did you, you mentioned that your grandma, your grandmother raised you?

• 1:13:25Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:13:26Theo Von?

What was your, so did you, did your grandma raise your siblings too, or just you?

• 1:13:29Speaker 01

No, it was just me. And my brother was raised with my mom.

• 1:13:32Theo Von?

  Okay.

• 1:13:33Speaker 01

That's how I ended up in LA. My mom was in LA at the time. And so my grandma, after I graduated high school, I went to Langston University.

• 1:13:40Theo Von?

  Langston?

• 1:13:41Speaker 01

Yeah, NIAA school in, in Oklahoma. And I got thrown out for fighting. So I went back to Miami after getting expelled. And my grandma was like, listen, I've done all I can with you. I washed my hands. And that's how.

• 1:13:51Theo Von?

Damn, you was in a bad spot?

• 1:13:53Speaker 01

Yeah, that's how I ended up in LA at Santa Monica.

• 1:13:55Theo Von?

  Why, was your attitude bad?

• 1:13:56Speaker 01

No, I just like to fight.

• 1:13:57Theo Von?

  You like to fight?

• 1:13:58Speaker 01

  Unfortunately.

• 1:13:59Theo Von?

  Fist fighting?

• 1:14:00Speaker 01

Yeah, I like fist fighting. Like, I'm gonna beat James Harrison ass.

• 1:14:03Theo Von?

  You fighting him?

• 1:14:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:05Theo Von?

James Harrison from, from Pittsburgh Steelers?

• 1:14:06Speaker 01

Yeah, I'm gonna fuck him up.

• 1:14:08Theo Von?

I thought he passed away, man.

• 1:14:09Speaker 01

No, no, no, no, no, no. He's, he's, he's, yeah. Yeah, he's, he's, he's alive and well.

• 1:14:14Theo Von?

Bring up a picture of him. Well, not for long, once you get him up.

• 1:14:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:18Theo Von?

Bring up a picture of him. Didn't he have a child named, I thought he had a son that played James Harrison. Yeah, he's a coach, isn't he?

• 1:14:25Speaker 01

No, no, no, no. He done coached.

• 1:14:27Theo Von?

Oh, no, he ain't a coach. God, he doing calendar work.

• 1:14:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:31Theo Von?

God damn, he doing, he on fucking OnlyFans. Look at this shit over here.

• 1:14:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's Devo. That's Devo.

• 1:14:35Theo Von?

God, I ain't going near his cage.

• 1:14:37Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:38Theo Von?

  God dang, they fucking.

• 1:14:40Speaker 01

  Yeah, he's, he's huge. He's huge.

• 1:14:41Theo Von?

  He's a junkyard dog.

• 1:14:42Speaker 01

  He looks intimidating, doesn't he?

• 1:14:43Theo Von?

  Yes, he does.

• 1:14:44Speaker 01

  Yeah, I don't give a fuck.

• 1:14:45Theo Von?

  You really gonna fight him?

• 1:14:46Speaker 01

  Fuck him up.

• 1:14:47Theo Von?

God, I'll stand, I'll coach you, bro.

• 1:14:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:14:50Theo Von?

I'll do your water in the back. I'll put ice on your neck.

• 1:14:52Speaker 01

Yeah, very good friend of mine, but you know, sometimes you come, you gotta come to feel. Sometimes you gotta establish dominance as a little man.

• 1:14:59Theo Von?

Sometimes it is what it is. Boy, and why are y'all fighting? Y'all are upset with each other?

• 1:15:03Speaker 01

I just don't like his face. It's punchable.

• 1:15:05Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah, he does look.

• 1:15:06Speaker 01

  He has a punchable face.

• 1:15:08Theo Von?

Bring up another picture of that punchable man. God dang, bruh. Now, I wouldn't hit this guy. Bring up the other picture. Go back to the other one. Yeah, not this guy.

• 1:15:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:15:18Theo Von?

  Wow.

• 1:15:19Speaker 01

  Yeah, he's huge, right?

• 1:15:20Theo Von?

And are y'all fighting just for fun?

• 1:15:21Speaker 01

  No, MMA style.

• 1:15:22Theo Von?

  Oh, y'all doing MMA?

• 1:15:23Speaker 01

Yeah, he can kick. He can do whatever he want.

• 1:15:25Theo Von?

Did you go to the, you want to the fight that's coming up here? Or they just had one here?

• 1:15:28Speaker 01

Yeah, I think they did. I wasn't here. I was out of town working.

• 1:15:31Theo Von?

Do you like to go to them?

• 1:15:32Speaker 01

Yeah, I like it. I'm a boxing fan more.

• 1:15:35Theo Von?

I can't believe we haven't seen each other.

• 1:15:36Speaker 01

  I like boxing better.

• 1:15:38Theo Von?

  And who's this, James Harrison?

• 1:15:40Speaker 01

No, that's my crazy ass in there boxing.

• 1:15:42Theo Von?

  Oh, that's you?

• 1:15:43Speaker 01

  Yep.

• 1:15:43Theo Von?

Oh, so you really like it, huh?

• 1:15:45Speaker 01

Yeah, I remember. This was fun.

• 1:15:48Theo Von?

  Who was this against?

• 1:15:49Speaker 01

Um, Brian Maxwell. He does, Brian Maxwell does, um,

• 1:15:54Theo Von?

  Brian Maxwell.

• 1:15:55Speaker 01

Bare knuckle boxing. Yeah, good friend of mine. I got.

• 1:16:00Theo Von?

Damn. What's tough about boxing, man, that people don't realize?

• 1:16:05Speaker 01

Conditioning. Conditioning. You gotta be well-conditioned. And for this, I only had two weeks to get ready. And since then, I think that was in 2021, if I'm not mistaken. And I've been training since. Just having fun.

• 1:16:20Theo Von?

Could you fight a guy like, you couldn't fight Jake Paul, though?

• 1:16:23Speaker 01

I think the weight class is, he's so much, so much bigger.

• 1:16:26Theo Von?

  Oh, he's heavy?

• 1:16:26Speaker 01

  Yeah, he's heavy.

• 1:16:27Theo Von?

  He's a heavy guy.

• 1:16:28Speaker 01

I'm only, but maybe now, and put on a little size, I'm about maybe 190.

• 1:16:32Theo Von?

Who's somebody you would challenge out there, Dan? Who's like a real, I'm trying to think of somebody.

• 1:16:37Speaker 01

I just, I just want to fight Debo. I just want to fight James.

• 1:16:40Theo Von?

Well, he's willing to do it, isn't he?

• 1:16:41Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, we're gonna do it.

• 1:16:43Theo Von?

  Who could I see?

• 1:16:43Speaker 01

Then we're gonna, then we're gonna be friends after.

• 1:16:46Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:46Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:16:47Theo Von?

Oh, yeah, dude. When I remember when I was in school, you got in a fight, the principal, they made you stand in the hall.

• 1:16:52Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:16:53Theo Von?

And you had to put your hands on the shoulder of the person you fought.

• 1:16:55Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:16:56Theo Von?

And so y'all had to be, by the end of the day, y'all were friends because

• 1:16:59Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:16:59Theo Von?

  you were right here.

• 1:17:00Speaker 01

  The whole time.

• 1:17:01Theo Von?

And the other kids would get out of class and have to walk by. And so by the end, this person became your.

• 1:17:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:17:06Theo Von?

You had to get over whatever it was because you had to be right there next to each other.

• 1:17:09Speaker 01

  I like that.

• 1:17:09Theo Von?

Um, what's a part that you miss about playing? I mean, I know it's kind of a general question. What's something you miss about playing that people wouldn't even think about?

• 1:17:15Speaker 01

For me, it was competing in practice.

• 1:17:18Theo Von?

Even just in practice was fun, huh?

• 1:17:20Speaker 01

I miss it. I miss competing in practice. That's where you got, that's, that's what's difficult. The games on Sunday, that's fun. That's the easy part. Practice and competing, preparation, I miss that. I miss watching film. I really, I really do. I miss watching film, especially on defenses and, and, and defensive backs and knowing what they were gonna do before it even happened.

• 1:17:40Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:17:40Speaker 01

I knew it was coming. Whether it be down in distance, first down, second down, third down. All that shifting and motion that they like to do, playing around in the secondary, I know what you're doing before you even do it. And I, I, I miss that. I miss being prepared. So, the entertainment value I bought.

• 1:17:55Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:17:56Speaker 01

Was only done because I had studied to a T.

• 1:17:59Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:17:59Speaker 01

I studied to a T. You know, it's not like I'm just getting up.

• 1:18:02Theo Von?

So you weren't there just goofing around?

• 1:18:03Speaker 01

Uh, no. It looks like it.

• 1:18:06Theo Von?

  Right.

• 1:18:06Speaker 01

There's no way to have that kind of success.

• 1:18:08Theo Von?

  With.

• 1:18:09Speaker 01

Without studying part of it, without knowing what I'm doing. Or knowing what you're doing before I even go do it.

• 1:18:14Theo Von?

What do you think the NFL could do differently now to make it more exciting? Or to make it a better product, if anything?

• 1:18:19Speaker 01

I mean, listen, it is the best product. There's really no, there's really nothing else.

• 1:18:23Theo Von?

I think NFL's going down, man.

• 1:18:25Speaker 01

  No.

• 1:18:25Theo Von?

I don't think it's, I think people like college better. Hell, some people like damn WNBA better.

• 1:18:30Speaker 01

  I don't like, absolutely not.

• 1:18:31Theo Von?

Some people do, some young men do.

• 1:18:33Speaker 01

  Yeah, I don't.

• 1:18:34Theo Von?

  Couple guys do.

• 1:18:34Speaker 01

Yeah. The NFL will always be the cream of the, cream of the crop.

• 1:18:37Theo Von?

  You think so?

• 1:18:38Speaker 01

  Always.

• 1:18:39Theo Von?

I don't, there's something about it sometimes. I don't know if the field should be bigger. I don't know what should happen. Sometimes I feel like it, like the guys have almost gotten too fast where I feel like sometimes with the running backs is what I do feel like. You don't get to see enough good moves because there's not enough space for them to do them in because everybody's so fast now.

• 1:18:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:18:58Theo Von?

I don't know if that's true or not.

• 1:18:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:19:00Theo Von?

But I feel that way sometimes. Like, I don't know if you could have a Barry Sanders now, not because you couldn't have the same guy.

• 1:19:04Speaker 01

No, you could. You just will never have another Barry Sanders. That ain't happening.

• 1:19:08Theo Von?

  That might be fair.

• 1:19:09Speaker 01

That is not happening. Absolutely not.

• 1:19:11Theo Von?

  That might be fair.

• 1:19:13Speaker 01

  Not even close.

• 1:19:15Theo Von?

Yeah, it just looked like the, you know, like it used to be, once you got around the defensive end, wasn't gonna get out there to get you.

• 1:19:20Speaker 01

Well, you know, most of the time, players back then were not as fast. Now we have, you know, D linemen, even D tackles that run in four or five.

• 1:19:28Theo Von?

Right, but I'm saying, does that, does that make it tougher for somebody's backs to get out of the backfield?

• 1:19:33Speaker 01

Not at all. You just have to be that much better.

• 1:19:36Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:37Speaker 01

You gotta be that much better.

• 1:19:39Theo Von?

Yeah, I'm wondering why sometimes it feels like it's not the same as it used to be. It's amazing. I'm not saying that. I'm not saying that the guys aren't extremely talented there.

• 1:19:46Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:19:47Theo Von?

But sometimes I just wonder as a fan. Are you a WNBA fan?

• 1:19:51Speaker 01

Yeah, absolutely. I had an opportunity to go to my first game in Atlanta.

• 1:19:55Theo Von?

  You did?

• 1:19:55Speaker 01

Yo, that shit was amazing in Atlanta. And the product in general. I don't know all the gripes that people have about the WNBA.

• 1:20:02Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:20:03Speaker 01

  No, that shit was amazing.

• 1:20:04Theo Von?

  I know.

• 1:20:04Speaker 01

  Oh, my goodness.

• 1:20:06Theo Von?

  I'm into it, man.

• 1:20:06Speaker 01

The atmosphere from quarter one to halftime, dude, it felt like I was at the club. And I don't even go to the club. And the first thing I thought about was, wait, is this what it's like when you, you know, when it comes to the nightlife? I really enjoyed it. I really enjoyed it, yeah.

• 1:20:20Theo Von?

Yeah, dude, I had a great time. I went to Las Vegas Aces game.

• 1:20:23Speaker 01

Aces game? Yeah, it was nice.

• 1:20:25Theo Von?

Bro, it's so much fun. I tell my friends if they're in Vegas, like, what show should I go see? I say if the Aces are playing, go see it.

• 1:20:29Speaker 01

  Go see them, yeah.

• 1:20:30Theo Von?

It's just such a, uh, yeah, there's like, I don't know, people love the game. You could tell they really are invested into the game, right? And this is when they had, uh, Kate Martin. They had the, they had the girl who won MVP three years in a row.

• 1:20:44Theo Von?

This one, that Asia Wilson. They still have Asia Wilson.

• 1:20:47Speaker 01

  Yeah, Asia's still there.

• 1:20:47Theo Von?

Yeah. But dude, it was unbelievable, bro. I had a great time. And we got to sit right, bro, that we were playing Dallas, uh, the Dallas Mystic, I think is their name? They were, their coach was right there, dude. I was chirping them during the game. It was ridiculous, dude.

• 1:21:01Speaker 01

Yeah, I love, I love the WNBA, man. I love the product they have on the court.

• 1:21:05Theo Von?

I love the product. I would like to invest in a WNBA team, man.

• 1:21:08Speaker 01

I think Miami needs a team.

• 1:21:10Theo Von?

I think Nashville needs a team.

• 1:21:12Speaker 01

  Yeah, that'd be nice.

• 1:21:13Theo Von?

Cause it kind of reminds me, I feel like of what you might see with the NBA before everybody could dunk.

• 1:21:19Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.

• 1:21:20Theo Von?

And I don't mean that in any type of way, other than you have to rely on good passing. Like, there's a lot of stuff you have to rely on, where the NBA doesn't have to rely on it as much anymore.

• 1:21:29Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:21:31Theo Von?

Do you think you can still play or no?

• 1:21:33Speaker 01

  Me?

• 1:21:33Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:21:34Speaker 01

  Fuck, no.

• 1:21:35Theo Von?

Come on, bro. You can't talk yourself up this whole time and you can't even get back out there.

• 1:21:40Speaker 01

Obviously, I gotta be realistic as well. The mind knows what to do. The mind knows what to do based on years of playing and IQ, on-field IQ, but the body won't react the way I want it to.

• 1:21:51Theo Von?

Bro, you could play for the Titans?

• 1:21:53Speaker 01

No, no. You guys have, you guys got a good one in Calvin Ridley.

• 1:21:57Theo Von?

Oh, no, I know we have Calvin Ridley is one of the best, right? I don't think Atlanta should have let him go. But we could use you over there, man.

• 1:22:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:22:05Theo Von?

Even just for the, where we would come to watch you play, though.

• 1:22:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:22:07Theo Von?

Now, what about that element of it? Has any team reached out to you in later years?

• 1:22:11Speaker 01

  Absolutely not. No.

• 1:22:13Theo Von?

To say, just to sell tickets?

• 1:22:14Speaker 01

  Absolutely. I can do that.

• 1:22:16Theo Von?

  That's what I'm saying.

• 1:22:17Speaker 01

I can fill a stadium up.

• 1:22:18Theo Von?

Well, that's what I'm talking about.

• 1:22:19Speaker 01

Yeah, but not at this day and age. No.

• 1:22:22Theo Von?

But people would love to watch it.

• 1:22:23Speaker 01

  Back then, yes. Yes.

• 1:22:26Theo Von?

People would love to watch it. Um, I'm trying to think of something else that we could talk about. Anything you want to talk about?

• 1:22:33Speaker 01

  It's on you.

• 1:22:34Theo Von?

  Yeah, thanks.

• 1:22:36Speaker 01

  It's on you.

• 1:22:36Theo Von?

  Yeah, thanks, bro.

• 1:22:39Theo Von?

Is it tough, though? Let me think about this. Realistically, when you have eight children, you have eight children?

• 1:22:44Speaker 01

  Yeah. I want two more.

• 1:22:46Theo Von?

  You do?

• 1:22:47Speaker 01

Yeah. I'm probably gonna do, uh, is it called IBF? I want twins.

• 1:22:51Theo Von?

  Ooh.

• 1:22:53Speaker 01

I want twins and I'm done.

• 1:22:54Theo Von?

Why? You want twins so that you have to battle two Johnsons on the field at once?

• 1:22:58Speaker 01

No, not really. I just want, I just want to end on even numbers.

• 1:23:02Theo Von?

And, okay. And end on a grand finale. You gotta end with a big move.

• 1:23:05Speaker 01

  There we go.

• 1:23:05Theo Von?

  That two-point conversion.

• 1:23:07Speaker 01

I like that. So, we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens.

• 1:23:11Theo Von?

Do you have to pick your children's names or your wife gets to pick them?

• 1:23:14Speaker 01

  Whoever I'm dating.

• 1:23:15Theo Von?

  The mother gets to pick?

• 1:23:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, they get to pick.

• 1:23:17Theo Von?

Really? They get to pick every time?

• 1:23:18Speaker 01

  Yeah, of course.

• 1:23:20Theo Von?

  Is that a thing?

• 1:23:21Speaker 01

I don't know. I just, just the way I operate. I'm not worried about names.

• 1:23:25Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:23:25Speaker 01

  Nah.

• 1:23:26Theo Von?

So, the mother gets to pick out every one of your children's names?

• 1:23:28Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:23:29Theo Von?

Did you, did she say, hey, what do you think about this name?

• 1:23:31Speaker 01

  Yeah, always.

• 1:23:32Theo Von?

And will you sometimes say yes or no?

• 1:23:33Speaker 01

I say, whatever you want to do. We rocking with it.

• 1:23:36Theo Von?

  Wow, bro.

• 1:23:38Speaker 01

Yeah, my son, my son graduates from Arizona, Arizona State.

• 1:23:41Theo Von?

  He's a Sun Devil?

• 1:23:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:23:43Theo Von?

  He plays football there?

• 1:23:44Speaker 01

  No, he's done.

• 1:23:45Theo Von?

  He's done.

• 1:23:46Speaker 01

  Done, yeah.

• 1:23:46Theo Von?

How, is it tough for you if you have a child and do they feel like they have to live in your shoes? How do you have that conversation with them as a parent?

• 1:23:53Speaker 01

You do as, as a parent, even though I play football, if you want to play, that's on you. If you don't want to play, I'm supporting whatever it is you want to do. I'm, I'm not like, I'm not one of those, those parents that push and push, you're going to do this? No, absolutely not.

• 1:24:05Theo Von?

But do you feel like the children feel some type of pressure or no, just in their own?

• 1:24:08Speaker 01

I would hope not, because the pressure would be coming from me.

• 1:24:11Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:24:12Speaker 01

Fuck the outside noise. That has nothing to do with anything. Whatever you dream and want to do, I must support it.

• 1:24:18Theo Von?

Which one of your children is most like you, do you think?

• 1:24:22Speaker 01

Probably my daughter that runs track.

• 1:24:23Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:24:23Speaker 01

  University of Kentucky.

• 1:24:25Theo Von?

Is she like your mom too, or no?

• 1:24:27Speaker 01

Hmm, a little bit, it's a little bit of both of us. A little bit of both of us. A little, little bit of both of us.

• 1:24:33Theo Von?

Like, what does she have, like what tendencies does she have, you think?

• 1:24:37Theo Von?

  That make her like you?

• 1:24:38Speaker 01

  Athletic ability.

• 1:24:39Theo Von?

  Okay.

• 1:24:40Speaker 01

Athleticism. And, and all of them are athletic. I think honestly, her, her sister, who didn't run track, she's a, AKA, she goes to Prairie View A and M. I think she, if she chose to run track or just be in athletics, I think she would be faster.

• 1:24:55Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:24:55Speaker 01

But she's, she's, so she's the diva. She's the, she's the Beyonce of the kids.

• 1:25:00Theo Von?

  Oh, really?

• 1:25:01Speaker 01

  Yeah, she's the diva.

• 1:25:02Theo Von?

Who was a bigger diva, do you think, you or Terrell Owens, do you think?

• 1:25:05Speaker 01

I don't think, we're not even divas. That's just a word, I'm not sure why they use that word, it just doesn't describe.

• 1:25:10Theo Von?

  Well, male divas then.

• 1:25:11Speaker 01

No. Who's the better player? T.O.

• 1:25:18Theo Von?

So one of your daughters is maybe more athletic, but she chooses not to do it?

• 1:25:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:25:23Theo Von?

What does she like to do?

• 1:25:24Speaker 01

  She's a dancer.

• 1:25:25Theo Von?

  Oh, really?

• 1:25:26Speaker 01

She's a dancer, she's M U A. She can, um, she can dress her ass off.

• 1:25:32Theo Von?

  Oh, so she's stylish?

• 1:25:33Speaker 01

Oh my goodness, yes. Oh yeah, that's my baby.

• 1:25:37Theo Von?

  That's interesting.

• 1:25:38Speaker 01

  That's my baby.

• 1:25:39Theo Von?

Yeah, I would like to have maybe a stylish little child.

• 1:25:42Speaker 01

I have a daughter also who's in the tennis. Cheyenne, I call her Cha Cha. So good. Already. Eight years old. So good. Forehand, backhand. So good. You don't understand. We're gonna have this conversation again.

• 1:26:00Speaker 01

Maybe five years from now and I'll be like, Theo, remember what I told you? There she is right there on tour.

• 1:26:05Theo Von?

Love, love. Wow. Where does she play at? She plays in Florida?

• 1:26:08Speaker 01

Yeah, she's in Florida. She's in Florida. I have a younger son. Savion. Football. Crazy.

• 1:26:14Theo Von?

  Here in Florida?

• 1:26:15Speaker 01

  Crazy, yeah.

• 1:26:16Theo Von?

So your life must be pretty busy with having to just be a dad all the time?

• 1:26:19Speaker 01

Yeah, it's easy. It's easy. I hear people complain. It's easy. It's easy.

• 1:26:26Theo Von?

What do you think that people complain about? Well, that makes it seem tougher to them. Well, I mean, you do also have financial ability to at least feed and take care of rent, that sort of thing.

• 1:26:34Speaker 01

I think that might make it a little easier.

• 1:26:36Theo Von?

  I bet it does, yeah.

• 1:26:37Speaker 01

From a financial standpoint, it's easy, but also being present and being active and being hands-on as much as I can.

• 1:26:42Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:26:43Speaker 01

It's just, I just like it. Like, you know, that feeling? I get such a great feeling when we go on trips. You know, every summer we take trips as one huge group.

• 1:26:51Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:26:51Speaker 01

And just mobbing, mobbing through the airport, like, ten, eight, nine kids. Oh, that's.

• 1:26:55Theo Von?

All the women too? The moms and the children?

• 1:26:57Speaker 01

  No, no, no, no, no.

• 1:26:57Theo Von?

  Oh, just the children?

• 1:26:58Speaker 01

Yeah, just, yeah, I take, I take everyone.

• 1:27:00Theo Von?

Dad and the kids all go on a big trip?

• 1:27:02Speaker 01

  I love that shit.

• 1:27:03Theo Von?

Where did you guys go somewhere fun that you would recommend to another big family to go? Like, they got, because they got a lot of church families out there.

• 1:27:10Speaker 01

Mexico, D R. This summer, we're going to Dubai, all of us. It's just, those trips, dude. Just going to the mall when it's time to go shopping, just walking in, like, one big gang. I love that.

• 1:27:25Theo Von?

That's interesting. It's an interesting way to think about your future and how you're raising children. But do you worry that you can't give them enough, each child, like enough mental and emotional connection? Or you don't think about that as much? Or you think it's okay?

• 1:27:37Speaker 01

  No, they're good.

• 1:27:37Theo Von?

  They're good?

• 1:27:38Speaker 01

  They're good, yeah.

• 1:27:39Theo Von?

I have no idea, yeah. I just think that you worry about that. That's a lot of people's fear. Because it's interesting, because I think people used to have more children. I think we're having less children now. You see that? They're just about to give people money to have more children. You seen that?

• 1:27:51Speaker 01

Well, you know, especially in this economy too, I can understand why some people are a little bit more cautious on having kids.

• 1:27:58Theo Von?

Yeah. Um, who was an overhyped cornerback when you were playing, bro?

• 1:28:02Speaker 01

  Overhyped?

• 1:28:02Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:28:02Speaker 01

I don't talk about people like that, D.

• 1:28:04Theo Von?

But if you had to guess somebody, if you, if you had to-

• 1:28:06Speaker 01

I'm not doing that. I don't talk about people.

• 1:28:08Theo Von?

  So it's negative?

• 1:28:09Speaker 01

Yeah, it's a negative. Yeah, nobody's overhyped. If you made it, you're a one percenter. You're there for a reason. You're, you're there for a reason.

• 1:28:18Theo Von?

Could you tell if a guy wasn't gonna be, like, do you feel like there's some days when a player, they could even be great and they go into a game and it's just an off game? Like, does that really happen?

• 1:28:29Speaker 01

Yeah, you have off days. Michael Jordan had off days. I had off days. Some of the best. Brady, Mahomes, you have off days. But your good days outweigh the bad ones.

• 1:28:41Theo Von?

Right, the meat, the average of it.

• 1:28:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:28:44Speaker 01

That's a good one. That, that was a good question.

• 1:28:46Theo Von?

  It was?

• 1:28:46Speaker 01

  That was a good one.

• 1:28:47Theo Von?

Well, cause sometimes it's like, I gotta do a show or something and I'm like, I don't feel like today's just not my day. But I still have to do it, right? You just, you had to wonder at that level, cause it's, you know, it only comes down to 16 Sundays, you know?

• 1:29:00Speaker 01

Yeah, and some, you add up that 16, you're gonna have a bad one.

• 1:29:03Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:29:03Speaker 01

You know, you wanna be as consistent as possible, but being perfect, you strive for perfection. So even if you do fall short, but you're gonna have bad days.

• 1:29:13Theo Von?

Do you worry with a lot of these young people that now they have all this max preps and all this video footage and stuff so early? Do you think that that's a positive or a negative? How do you even look at some of that? Because you have a child now who's nine years old.

• 1:29:24Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:29:25Theo Von?

Who's watching himself either do well or not do well on a, on a film, you know?

• 1:29:30Speaker 01

Yeah, well, that's, that's a part of it. That's a part of it. You have to evolve with the times. The parents have to evolve with the times that we're in now, understanding that we're in a social media era.

• 1:29:38Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:29:38Speaker 01

And everything is magnified times 10. Everything's magnified.

• 1:29:44Theo Von?

Yeah, I just wonder like, if that's good for a child's psyche or not?

• 1:29:48Speaker 01

I mean, e- either way, it's not going anywhere. It's gonna be here.

• 1:29:50Theo Von?

  That's your point.

• 1:29:51Speaker 01

  It's gonna be here.

• 1:29:52Theo Von?

You can't romanticize the past if it's, cause that's not gonna come back.

• 1:29:54Speaker 01

Exactly. So that, that, at that point at all, it's on the parent, helping the child understand. Water for duck's back, no matter what it is. Something goes bad, in one ear, out the other. Next play.

• 1:30:09Theo Von?

What about with the, like, NIL is real popular right now. Like, you have players who will have do, you'll have players that will do, get an NIL deal.

• 1:30:17Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:30:17Theo Von?

And then there's like a couple of windows for the NIL. Bring up, how many windows are there? Cause there's some before the season even ends, or?

• 1:30:25Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 1:30:25Theo Von?

How many transfer portals in the college season?

• 1:30:31Theo Von?

Typically, two main transfer portal windows.

• 1:30:33Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:30:33Theo Von?

A winter, a winter window and a spring window. So you can have a guy coming during the winter window, and I think they've had this, get a deal, and then he leaves during the spring window. Or he wants a better deal, but he just, he ain't even done anything yet.

• 1:30:46Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, that's, that's the game it is now. It's a pay to play.

• 1:30:50Theo Von?

Do you think that helps college football though over time?

• 1:30:52Speaker 01

  I mean.

• 1:30:52Theo Von?

Do you think it helps keep players in college for a longer amount of time?

• 1:30:55Speaker 01

I think the fact that colleges in general are billion dollar institutions, or entities in general.

• 1:31:01Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:02Speaker 01

And have made so much money off players' likeness.

• 1:31:04Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:31:05Speaker 01

For so long, and the players really had nothing.

• 1:31:07Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:31:08Speaker 01

So I like the fact that players are now able to take advantage of their likeness and get, get paid early, because everybody's not making it to the NFL.

• 1:31:15Theo Von?

  Right.

• 1:31:16Speaker 01

Everybody's not gonna get, get there. So them being able to make some, make some change, make some cash now while they're playing, I'm all for it.

• 1:31:23Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:31:24Speaker 01

  I'm all for it.

• 1:31:25Theo Von?

But do you think there will be players who don't make it because they get money early that it damages them?

• 1:31:30Speaker 01

  No, absolutely not.

• 1:31:30Theo Von?

  You don't think so?

• 1:31:31Speaker 01

  Well, it, it, it could.

• 1:31:33Theo Von?

  You tell me.

• 1:31:33Speaker 01

But getting that, getting that kind of money in college.

• 1:31:36Theo Von?

  Money early.

• 1:31:36Speaker 01

  You want more.

• 1:31:37Theo Von?

And he's spending it in the club, or he buying a wagon wheel or a Jeep, a Jeep Wrangler. You're gonna tell me he, he's not gonna wanna.

• 1:31:46Speaker 01

Well, your end, your end goal is the NFL.

• 1:31:49Theo Von?

  So you're saying.

• 1:31:49Speaker 01

Your end goal is always the NFL. Getting money in college shouldn't change, shouldn't change your long-term vision and your childhood dream of making it to the.

• 1:31:56Theo Von?

But you don't think that it could, somebody could suffer it?

• 1:31:59Speaker 01

  Absolutely not.

• 1:31:59Theo Von?

If you gave me that money early.

• 1:32:01Speaker 01

That little bit of money is to help family.

• 1:32:04Speaker 01

  That's to help family.

• 1:32:04Theo Von?

I don't know if these guys are using it for that though, maybe someone might be.

• 1:32:07Speaker 01

No, trust me, they're using, they're, you're using it for family, because you don't, you know, based on where some of these individuals are coming from. This is, is a huge help, a huge jumpstart to being able to help their family. But the end goal, the real money.

• 1:32:19Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:32:19Speaker 01

Is in the NFL, not NIL.

• 1:32:23Theo Von?

What's the most somebody made in NIL this past season? Let's take a look at it.

• 1:32:26Speaker 01

  Probably four million, maybe five.

• 1:32:30Theo Von?

But you got people doing dog food commercials and shit in their small town and stuff.

• 1:32:34Speaker 01

Yeah. Hey, get it. Get it while you can.

• 1:32:37Theo Von?

Getting six or seven racks out there. Four years of college, right there. What's the biggest NIL deal in college football? The highest NIL in college football? Oh, it's Arch Manning. That's right. Six point seven.

• 1:32:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:49Theo Von?

How many years is that, though?

• 1:32:51Speaker 01

He only got three more to go.

• 1:32:55Theo Von?

Is that six point seven a year, you think?

• 1:32:57Speaker 01

  No, total.

• 1:32:58Theo Von?

  That's total.

• 1:32:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:59Theo Von?

So that's different, but that's better than like, if that's a, that's like a fifth round pick or something.

• 1:33:03Speaker 01

You gotta remember, Arch comes from money anyway, so that's not, it's not new to him.

• 1:33:06Theo Von?

Right. It's probably not making, it's probably not making his biggest choice.

• 1:33:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:33:10Theo Von?

Um, how often you guys tape your show?

• 1:33:12Speaker 01

Uh, now it's based on the NBA playoffs, so we're off tonight. So we just did, we just did Thursday, Wednesday, and Tuesday. We're off tomorrow. No, we're off today. We're on tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, and we're on Saturday, Sunday, and wait.

• 1:33:32Theo Von?

You have to tape all the time, huh?

• 1:33:33Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's fun. It's fun. You know, the NBA game, NBA playoffs, and we always have an NBA guest on, so I'm enjoying that. I'm enjoying that.

• 1:33:41Theo Von?

Did you think, uh, do you think about other, like, is there another venture you'd like to get into? You feel like you're in a good space? It seems like you're in a pretty good space.

• 1:33:48Speaker 01

Right now, I'm good, because this is my off season. You know, when football season gets here, I'm on NFL Films. I'm, I'll be on ESPN this year with Stephen A., so I'm good. This is my, this is my off time.

• 1:33:59Theo Von?

What's he like, man? Is he really like he seems, Stephen A.?

• 1:34:01Speaker 01

Cool as hell. Cool as hell. He's, Stephen A. has afforded me opportunities I couldn't have, couldn't have imagined. Couldn't have imagined. Yeah, so I, I like it, especially being in a space, being able to transition into, into media.

• 1:34:15Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:34:16Speaker 01

It's been really good for me.

• 1:34:17Theo Von?

Oh, yeah. Yeah, you gotta, I think having that, just being able to have a voice, you know? And you still have a voice in the sport that you love.

• 1:34:24Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:34:25Theo Von?

You still have some sort of a say, or at least an opinion and stuff, you know?

• 1:34:28Speaker 01

Yeah, an opinion that's respected, especially when it comes to football.

• 1:34:31Theo Von?

Yeah. Um, when you look back on your experience with the Bengals, what is like, obviously you met, you know, the play and everything like that. What was Cincinnati like then? What was the energy like then?

• 1:34:42Speaker 01

It was good. It was good, especially that 2005 year, which that was the year we were on fire offensively and obviously defense. They were having takeaways like crazy. That was our year. If Carson didn't go down in that first round of the playoffs against the Steelers, that was our year to host a trophy. That was that year. Oh my goodness, the city was on fire. I could just imagine now.

• 1:35:05Theo Von?

  Hell yeah.

• 1:35:06Speaker 01

With the, every year, every year now with Joe Burrow there, you know you have an opportunity. You got a chance.

• 1:35:12Theo Von?

Rudy Johnson was a beast, remember?

• 1:35:14Speaker 01

Oh yeah. Rudy, Hoos. Those were some good dudes, man. Matter of fact, we have a, I have a group chat with half of everybody in here. Hoos is in there, I'm in there.

• 1:35:25Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 1:35:25Speaker 01

Rudy Johnson is in there. We, we got Carson, Justin Smith is in that group chat. I haven't seen some of these names. De'Ante O'Neal is in the group chat. Oh, Brian Simmons is in the group chat. I haven't seen some of these names in so, in so long. Oh, look at Odell Thurman. Odell was really good.

• 1:35:41Theo Von?

It's wild how some guys, it's like, they'll have a great, like Rudy Johnson was huge for a few. He had a couple of great years.

• 1:35:48Speaker 01

  Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

• 1:35:49Theo Von?

And then you didn't hear about him.

• 1:35:50Speaker 01

  Yeah, I don't, I don't know where, I don't, I can't remember where Rudy went after he left Cincinnati.

• 1:35:54Theo Von?

And it's not even a judgment against him. It's just like, that's how, it's like, things come and go fast in the league, huh?

• 1:35:59Speaker 01

It does. Listen, those years go by real fast. Very fast.

• 1:36:02Theo Von?

  Damn. Eleven and five.

• 1:36:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:36:06Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 1:36:07Speaker 01

Yeah, we were on fire, man.

• 1:36:08Theo Von?

Oof. And who was y'all's backup? Who came in as backup quarterback?

• 1:36:12Speaker 01

Yeah, who was our backup that year? Oh, John Kidna. He now coaches at Lakota East or Lakota West High School in Cincinnati. Carson Palmer is now coaching in LA. I don't know what school he's coaching at.

• 1:36:26Theo Von?

And Kitten, y'all didn't break through that second round?

• 1:36:30Speaker 01

No, no, no, man. The Steelers won that game, man. They won that game. Old John, that's my guy.

• 1:36:37Theo Von?

Damn, I'm trying to think of anything else, man, I could think about. Do you love living down here in Florida?

• 1:36:42Speaker 01

It's all I know. Been all over the world, B. I've been all over the world and it's nothing like home. No matter where I go, and I do all my traveling strictly for soccer purposes. I'm a huge soccer enthusiast. Love soccer.

• 1:36:54Theo Von?

You think you could have played it at a pro level?

• 1:36:56Speaker 01

I would have had to start when I was four years old. If I could have started when I was four years old.

• 1:36:59Theo Von?

  It's that intrinsic, huh?

• 1:37:00Speaker 01

Yes, I love it. I love it. I love the atmosphere, the energy. I don't think people understand, we don't look at soccer as a sport. Why you like, all they doing is running around. The score is only 1-0, but you don't understand how beautiful that game is. You know, it's like painting a picture, and if you watch it and understand what you're watching, then you'll appreciate it more.

• 1:37:20Theo Von?

  That's your favorite sport?

• 1:37:20Speaker 01

Oh, my goodness. Times 10, then football.

• 1:37:23Theo Von?

What's the best place to see a soccer game after anything?

• 1:37:25Speaker 01

  For me, growing up,

• 1:37:29Speaker 01

I had the opportunity to see a River, River game versus Boca Juniors in Argentina. You'll never see an atmosphere like that ever again.

• 1:37:39Theo Von?

  Dang.

• 1:37:40Speaker 01

And I don't think people, it's kind of dangerous, but still. River Plate and Boca Juniors, obviously I've been, I've seen every EPL team. I've been to their stadium, I've seen every La Liga team play. I'll be El Clasico, Real Madrid and Barcelona is always a good one.

• 1:37:55Theo Von?

So you've been to a lot of these famous stadiums and parks?

• 1:37:58Speaker 01

Every last stadium, yes, every last one.

• 1:38:00Theo Von?

  It was magical, huh?

• 1:38:00Speaker 01

I did the World Cup with Qatar with Fox. I was the analyst for.

• 1:38:04Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:38:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, for Fox.

• 1:38:06Theo Von?

Damn, K, you've done a lot of amazing stuff.

• 1:38:08Speaker 01

I love, love soccer, man. Like, if you had to, if you had to choose, between going to a soccer game or just watching and having sex, I'm picking soccer every time.

• 1:38:20Theo Von?

  Over sex?

• 1:38:21Speaker 01

Absolutely, fuck, I don't care who it is.

• 1:38:23Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:38:24Speaker 01

I don't care who it is. Like, that's how much I love the game, the beautiful game.

• 1:38:29Theo Von?

Yeah, I'm trying to think. Let me think. Oh, yeah, I would probably go. Yeah, sex sometimes gets a little bit boring kinda, you think?

• 1:38:38Speaker 01

  Eh, depends.

• 1:38:40Theo Von?

Yeah, maybe not boring, that's not the best word, but.

• 1:38:42Speaker 01

I mean, listen, I did amateur porn growing up, so for me, it's.

• 1:38:46Theo Von?

  You did amateur?

• 1:38:47Speaker 01

Yeah, amateur porn, yeah. Yeah, it just, the only difference is I didn't get paid for it.

• 1:38:51Theo Von?

  Yeah?

• 1:38:51Speaker 01

Yeah, that's why I was amateur.

• 1:38:53Theo Von?

And so were you, and were people doing, were people filming or?

• 1:38:56Speaker 01

Yeah, I had a tripod camera set up.

• 1:38:58Theo Von?

  Oh, okay.

• 1:38:58Speaker 01

  Yeah, tripod, yeah.

• 1:38:59Theo Von?

  You're pulling all every.

• 1:39:00Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 1:39:02Theo Von?

Those tapes still out there, you think?

• 1:39:04Speaker 01

They did, it earned me some good money.

• 1:39:06Theo Von?

Oh, you had a tape out there?

• 1:39:08Speaker 01

No, I, I had a tripod and I just sold it myself.

• 1:39:10Theo Von?

  Oh, bet, yeah.

• 1:39:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:39:12Theo Von?

  God, I think, I don't know, I don't, I hope there's nothing out there of me.

• 1:39:15Speaker 01

No, yes, yeah, right now, probably back then, I don't even think they sell the camcorders.

• 1:39:21Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:39:22Speaker 01

Back then, for someone to be able to blackmail me at this point.

• 1:39:26Theo Von?

Yeah, they might have some drawings of me having sex, though.

• 1:39:29Speaker 01

There we go. Are you, are you married?

• 1:39:31Theo Von?

Some clay figures? No, I gotta get married, man.

• 1:39:33Speaker 01

  You have a girlfriend?

• 1:39:34Theo Von?

  Not right now.

• 1:39:35Speaker 01

  No?

• 1:39:35Theo Von?

  I'm gonna get one though.

• 1:39:36Speaker 01

  How do you navigate that?

• 1:39:38Theo Von?

I just be ca, like, eh.

• 1:39:41Speaker 01

Are you, are you cautious on who you're dealing with, based on now being?

• 1:39:45Theo Von?

  Yeah, I'm pretty cautious.

• 1:39:46Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:39:47Theo Von?

Yeah, because things happen. I mean, even with your co-hosts, it gets, you know, like, there's just, I think there's more opportunities, maybe, I don't know, there's. Everything's weird now, it feel like, it feels, just feels, things feel kinda scary. And you don't know even if you're doing, if you're doing the right things, that somebody could

• 1:40:09Theo Von?

  take advantage of you.

• 1:40:10Speaker 01

  Yep, they can.

• 1:40:10Theo Von?

And then at the same time, you can, I have a lot of friends that are sex addicts that get caught up just in sex and in that world, and it becomes like an addiction to them.

• 1:40:19Speaker 01

Yeah, at a time, it can be, a lot of people, I hate when people call sex an addiction.

• 1:40:23Theo Von?

  Really?

• 1:40:24Speaker 01

I really don't like that, because we, we're mammals, we're put on earth in general to, to have sex.

• 1:40:29Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:40:30Speaker 01

  To procreate in general.

• 1:40:31Theo Von?

  We pump.

• 1:40:32Speaker 01

And so I just, I hate the fact that we have all these definitions, oh, he's an addict, no, you're not, it, it's sex, it's something that we as humans actually do, some do it more than others, and that just, you know, it's cool.

• 1:40:44Theo Von?

Yeah, some people enjoy doing it a ton, some people don't enjoy doing it as much.

• 1:40:47Speaker 01

And some enjoy doing it with, with multiple people, you know, and just, it is, you ever been to a swingers club?

• 1:40:52Theo Von?

  I've never been.

• 1:40:53Speaker 01

  No?

• 1:40:53Theo Von?

  You been?

• 1:40:54Speaker 01

I mean, yeah, I used to, I used to work at one.

• 1:40:56Theo Von?

  Oh, you did?

• 1:40:56Speaker 01

Yeah, I used to be a gigolo for, for rich, rich, rich, wealthy, uh, women.

• 1:41:01Theo Von?

Really? Tommy Lee was a gigolo.

• 1:41:03Speaker 01

  He was?

• 1:41:03Theo Von?

Yep, Tommy Lee from, uh, Molly Crew.

• 1:41:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, Molly Crew?

• 1:41:06Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:06Speaker 01

  That's dope. I mean, this-

• 1:41:07Theo Von?

He's a gigolo. So were you getting hired to get out there and take these women out on dates?

• 1:41:11Speaker 01

Yeah, get on dates and, you know, obviously they had billionaire husbands, billionaire boyfriends that didn't have the time for them. And they would, I would just feel that void that they weren't getting at home because of them being busy.

• 1:41:22Theo Von?

So the husband just so busy, I'm just gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna treat my wife to a date, at least she can go do something nice type of thing?

• 1:41:27Speaker 01

The husband didn't know. Yeah, there was an ad, yeah, there was an ad. There was an ad in the paper.

• 1:41:30Theo Von?

You put your own ad out?

• 1:41:31Speaker 01

Yeah, I put my own ad out.

• 1:41:32Theo Von?

And what would the ad say ballpark?

• 1:41:34Speaker 01

Uh, based on the information that what they were looking for, I had a menu of services that I provided and-

• 1:41:42Theo Von?

And was someone sexual or not?

• 1:41:44Speaker 01

Yeah, someone was sexual, someone would just be spending time, you know, dates, movies, uh, conversation, massage, stuff like that. And most of the time it was more about sex and, you know, um, fulfilling that fantasy of being with a black guy.

• 1:41:59Theo Von?

  Oh, really?

• 1:42:00Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:42:00Theo Von?

  That's a marketable fantasy, huh?

• 1:42:02Speaker 01

  Of Mandingo descent.

• 1:42:03Theo Von?

  Oh, damn.

• 1:42:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:05Theo Von?

And how do you know if someone's Mandingo or not?

• 1:42:07Speaker 01

  Well, any, anything-

• 1:42:08Theo Von?

  What region is that?

• 1:42:09Speaker 01

  Uh, the lower region.

• 1:42:11Theo Von?

  Bring it up.

• 1:42:15Theo Von?

Where have I been? I've been to Tanzania.

• 1:42:19Theo Von?

  Mandingo.

• 1:42:22Theo Von?

On a map. Yeah, there we go. Okay, West Africa.

• 1:42:27Theo Von?

So if they wanna see that West, if they want that West Africa energy, huh?

• 1:42:30Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's, it's, it's, it's more of a, it's a, a term in referencing, uh, the private area. Mandingo.

• 1:42:38Theo Von?

  Oh, it's a, it's a weiner term kinda?

• 1:42:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:41Theo Von?

Oh, dang, I didn't know it. I've heard it.

• 1:42:43Speaker 01

  Right, right.

• 1:42:44Theo Von?

  Mandingo guy or whatever?

• 1:42:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:46Theo Von?

Um, okay, so you had women trying to just be with a black man?

• 1:42:48Speaker 01

Yeah, they just wanted to fulfill that fantasy.

• 1:42:50Theo Von?

And were they paying fair, were they paying a decent amount for it?

• 1:42:53Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, for an hour I could make anywhere from thirty-five hundred to five grand.

• 1:42:56Theo Von?

  My goodness.

• 1:42:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:58Theo Von?

God, would you wear your jersey or not?

• 1:43:00Speaker 01

No, this is before I even, I hadn't even made it yet.

• 1:43:03Theo Von?

  Oh, wow.

• 1:43:03Speaker 01

Yeah, cause at that point I wouldn't need the money if I'm already in the league.

• 1:43:06Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah, bet.

• 1:43:06Speaker 01

So that's the way, you know, um, in college, you know, I used to strip too.

• 1:43:11Theo Von?

  Did you really?

• 1:43:11Speaker 01

In LA, at the right track.

• 1:43:13Theo Von?

  Damn.

• 1:43:14Speaker 01

Yeah, I was a dancer. They used to call me Twix.

• 1:43:16Theo Von?

  Really? Why?

• 1:43:17Speaker 01

Cause I was skinny and had a lot of veins.

• 1:43:19Theo Von?

  Hmm. Oh, yeah.

• 1:43:20Speaker 01

  I like the Twix, yeah.

• 1:43:21Theo Von?

Damn, man. Was that a fun sport?

• 1:43:23Speaker 01

It was fun. It was fun. It was fun.

• 1:43:25Theo Von?

Would you do the splits as well out there?

• 1:43:27Speaker 01

No, I didn't do the splits. I didn't do the splits. But what I did come to learn is the women of, of 200 plus pounds or more, they tip much better than everyone else.

• 1:43:39Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:43:39Speaker 01

  Yeah, they did.

• 1:43:40Theo Von?

  Did they?

• 1:43:41Speaker 01

Oh, yeah. They tip, they tip well.

• 1:43:43Theo Von?

And would you ever get hired by those women for sexual?

• 1:43:46Speaker 01

  At times.

• 1:43:47Theo Von?

  At times, yeah.

• 1:43:47Speaker 01

  At times, yeah.

• 1:43:48Theo Von?

And is it more challenging? I feel like, do you have to do more for more of a Rubenesque woman? I've been with some probably medium sized girls. I've never been with like a, a real, more of a larger, bigger, larger, maybe?

• 1:44:01Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:44:02Theo Von?

You know, like, I've never been with like a big X to plug type woman.

• 1:44:05Speaker 01

  200 plus, I love, I love.

• 1:44:07Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:08Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 1:44:09Theo Von?

  God.

• 1:44:09Speaker 01

I, I just do. I just, though, though, Theo, I got so many good stories, man, from back then. It's just, we'd be here all day.

• 1:44:16Theo Von?

And would you, but would you guys ever go to like a, a drive in movie? Or what would y'all do?

• 1:44:20Speaker 01

Holy shit. Speaking of drive in, I haven't been to a drive in in years. I don't even, do they still have drive in theaters? Especially here in Florida. That would be a great date. I'm so glad you brought that up.

• 1:44:32Theo Von?

Yeah, I would love to get to a drive in out there with a lady.

• 1:44:35Speaker 01

  Yeah, that'd be dope.

• 1:44:38Theo Von?

Was it ever scary going over to a woman's house?

• 1:44:40Speaker 01

Absolutely not. No, because I already know. I, yeah, no. Nothing to be scared of. Nothing to be scared of. I'm just, I'm going to perform to put on a show.

• 1:44:48Theo Von?

Hmm. And was there a certain amount of time you had to do sex for? You could just, was it like part time or full time kinda?

• 1:44:55Speaker 01

Well, it depends on what she picks from.

• 1:44:56Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:57Speaker 01

Yeah, depending on how, depending on what you got.

• 1:44:59Theo Von?

  Pay cash or check?

• 1:45:00Speaker 01

No, I don't do checks. Cash, cash upfront.

• 1:45:03Theo Von?

  Damn, bro.

• 1:45:04Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:45:04Theo Von?

So you've always been entrepreneurial, huh?

• 1:45:06Speaker 01

Yeah, most definitely. You gotta start, gotta start somewhere.

• 1:45:09Theo Von?

And would you wear a special suit or a bandana or anything?

• 1:45:11Speaker 01

No, no. Just, just banana hammock.

• 1:45:15Theo Von?

  Just casual attire, huh?

• 1:45:16Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:45:17Theo Von?

Yeah. And you put, would you lotion up that wiener or whatever?

• 1:45:19Speaker 01

  Yeah, lotion up everywhere.

• 1:45:21Theo Von?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:45:21Speaker 01

Oiled up. Especially when I come on stage.

• 1:45:24Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:45:24Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:45:25Theo Von?

Oh, you don't even knock. You just slide through the lot?

• 1:45:27Speaker 01

  Right on in.

• 1:45:28Theo Von?

  Come on.

• 1:45:28Speaker 01

  Right on in.

• 1:45:32Theo Von?

Ocho Cinco, man. Well, I would love to go to a game with your, whenever you go watch your daughter in Kentucky.

• 1:45:38Speaker 01

Yeah, most definitely. It's outdoor season right now too. It just started. So when I get up there, you gotta come on down.

• 1:45:44Theo Von?

I'd love to, man. Do you think that

• 1:45:51Theo Von?

some players secretly lobby to get into the Hall of Fame?

• 1:45:55Speaker 01

I think, I think so. I mean, rightfully so, that for those that understand, for them, if it means that much to them, you know, being a part of that, that entity of special people, yes. But then there's some players also, like myself, that feel that I don't really need the validation. I understand who I am and what I did during my time. And I'm in general, I don't really need it. I hate the fact that there are certain people that sit in places that have, that are in a position of power, that can control individuals that no longer play. It's like puppets. They, oh yeah, I know you want to be in here so bad, so I'm controlling whether you can get in or not. That, I would never give, I would never give anyone the satisfaction, the power over me.

• 1:46:40Theo Von?

I don't care about your shit. Take it.

• 1:46:41Speaker 01

I mean, listen, it's, it's great. It's a great achievement, a great accomplishment, but come on. I have too much going on now, still.

• 1:46:49Theo Von?

Right. Every day you have a lot of adoration and things that you get, you get, you know, to still be active.

• 1:46:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:46:55Theo Von?

Enough and admired in a sport that you enjoy. Who's that?

• 1:46:59Speaker 01

When I put, when I put that Hall of Fame jacket on myself.

• 1:47:01Theo Von?

  Oh, yeah. Good for you.

• 1:47:03Speaker 01

I think there are 269 members in the Hall of Fame, but that jacket right there, that's one on one.

• 1:47:09Theo Von?

Gang, gang. That's the truth, huh?

• 1:47:11Speaker 01

That's one, that's one on one. There's only one of those.

• 1:47:14Theo Von?

Dude, yeah. That's a good point. What if you start your own little hall?

• 1:47:19Speaker 01

Yeah. Listen, the Hall of Fame is, is, is unbelievable, you know, to be able to get there.

• 1:47:23Theo Von?

Oh yeah, I'm not discrediting it.

• 1:47:24Speaker 01

Yeah, me neither. I'm just saying, but I don't like the power it holds over players that are retired because they're clamoring trying to get in.

• 1:47:31Theo Von?

It's the same with like these Emmy Awards and Academy Awards for acting stuff. I respect that. It's a, it's an award that people admire and stuff. But if people out there like uh blowing directors and shit to get the award, it's like, or, or, or they're like having a, you know, go p- pitty patter to them because they hope they vote for them.

• 1:47:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:47:52Theo Von?

  I don't like that shit.

• 1:47:53Speaker 01

That, that's, that's, that's not me. It never has been.

• 1:47:56Theo Von?

Yeah. In fact, take me off the fucking ballot because I don't even want you to be able to tell me no. That's how I feel. I don't even want you to be able to say, you didn't get it.

• 1:48:03Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:48:03Theo Von?

I never wanted it. You know what I'm saying? It's almost even a better take.

• 1:48:06Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:48:07Theo Von?

Um, with the future, like, I know Shannon's going through his stuff right now.

• 1:48:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:48:12Theo Von?

With the future of y'all's show, does it, do you guys worry about that? Does it impair it or do you feel?

• 1:48:17Speaker 01

Unc is going through his issues, right? And um whatnot. And Unc asked me to be a part of Nightcap. And I'm gonna ride that wave because he asked me to come on. I'm not jumping ship because of his personal stuff that you handle whatever you need to handle. I'mma always be here.

• 1:48:36Theo Von?

  Yeah.

• 1:48:36Speaker 01

I'mma be here. You know, if the ship go down, bitch, I'm going down with it.

• 1:48:40Theo Von?

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 1:48:41Speaker 01

You know, so when the ship was going good, I was right here. Just because it's, just because it's fucking rocky. I ain't going nowhere. I'm not go, I'm not, I'm not going nowhere. So I'mma let Unc do what he needs to do. We gonna keep on filming. We gonna keep on trucking. We gonna keep our head down. Um, he knows, know what he needs to do on his end and I'mma make sure I take care of my end and do what I need to do and show up.

• 1:49:02Theo Von?

  Hmm.

• 1:49:03Speaker 01

  That's it. That's it.

• 1:49:05Theo Von?

Yeah, man, that's it. You know, you know, it reminds me of is when Bill Belichick, remember when Trump, people got on the Bill Belichick about Trump? And what did he say about him?

• 1:49:14Theo Von?

Remember when everybody was against Trump? Remember that shit?

• 1:49:17Speaker 01

  They still are.

• 1:49:19Theo Von?

That's a good point. Yeah. Yeah. Now even for different reasons, man, how they're handling like some of the Middle East stuff. But he said, my relationship with Donald Trump isn't political because the media was really getting on to him.

• 1:49:29Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:49:30Theo Von?

He said, my relationship with Donald Trump isn't political, Belichick said on the dynasty. I knew him long before he got into politics. Donald is a friend and I wrote a personal letter.

• 1:49:40Theo Von?

Might have been it, but he just, he stood up for the fact that this is my friend, right? This is my friend and people can, there can be other stuff that he has going on in his life. But that isn't, I'm not going to not be a friend then, right?

• 1:49:57Theo Von?

So it just kind of reminds me of that.

• 1:50:00Theo Von?

Anything else you wanted to talk about, Chad?

• 1:50:03Theo Von?

Probably got a lot of good stuff. I feel like you think we had a good conversation.

• 1:50:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:50:07Theo Von?

Yeah. Yeah. Sometimes it's hard, you know, sometimes you have days where you're like, you got it. You got everything going. Everything's okay. Sometimes you have days where you're like, what's even going on? It's weird. Sometimes you get scared. Sometimes you don't.

• 1:50:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:50:20Theo Von?

Or nervous about certain moments. I don't think black people get as nervous as white people do. Do you think that that's true?

• 1:50:25Speaker 01

It depends. It all depends on the atmosphere. All depends on the atmosphere and the situation.

• 1:50:34Speaker 01

I mean, driving the car and the cops pull up behind you, we get nervous.

• 1:50:38Theo Von?

Yeah. And I'm like, hey buddy.

• 1:50:41Speaker 01

Yeah, you guys not so much. Get nervous.

• 1:50:45Theo Von?

That might be a good point. So in different moments, but I think also a good thing that a lot of black folks have is white people, you could tell when they're nervous because you could see it in their skin. Yeah. We give a lot of, too many clues away. So I think I gotta start wearing some, some, some rouge or just like a, I gotta start wearing some bronzer.

• 1:51:05Theo Von?

  Thank you so much, Chad.

• 1:51:06Speaker 01

  No, thank you.

• 1:51:06Theo Von?

Best of luck, man. I love your energy, bro. Thank you for being somebody that continues to entertain people. You know, it was just interesting to hear what your life has been like and how you kind of choose.

• 1:51:19Theo Von?

Somehow you're able to remarkably choose to still just be yourself no matter how kind of hectic things get.

• 1:51:25Speaker 01

Doesn't matter, no matter what. I always even keel at all times.

• 1:51:30Theo Von?

And your even keel is even even keel navel too to a lot of people, you know, it's wild, but that's who you are.

• 1:51:36Speaker 01

Yeah, always been and will never change. I will always remain authentically myself at all times.

• 1:51:42Theo Von?

Well, it's been fun to watch, man, on the field and off. And yeah, thank you for your time.

• 1:51:46Speaker 01

Thank you, boss. I appreciate it, baby.

• 1:51:47Theo Von?

  Yes, sir.
