We know how demanding camp is, so for these three young guys to give us so much time in between practices and meetings was truly a special conversation. The prolific Bengals offense boasts targets Ja’ Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd who did record breaking numbers last season while turning an organization around from 4-12 to AFC champions in one season. Coming off a Super Bowl loss to the LA Rams, the three guys talk about the disappointment but also the motivation to want to get back there and take another crack at it. Focused on the team goals, the three guys said the key to their continued success is the overwhelming unselfishness in the locker room and how everyone wants each other to excel. It’s unique to have this much talent at one position and the guys explain how well the team has connected over the past year on and off the field. With QB Joe Burrow healing from a medical procedure, the guys explain how the team is staying focused and positive looking ahead to the games. Ja’ Marr doesn’t hesitate to admit that he would take a super bowl ring over his rookie of the year honors as Tyler Boyd continues to stress how zero selfishness exists on the team which is why they have confidence to not only repeat their success from last season but surpass it. It doesn’t take long for Channing to realize all three young star players are single as he dives into the personal life and what it’s like being a young single man with so much success so early in their careers. The three receivers talk about the NFL defensive backs they consider the top players at that position with a specific one coming out their division rival Cleveland Browns. Go ahead, do your thing, Co. Yes, sir. Glad to see you.

• 0:51Ryan Clark?

You got it first, was it? Vontae? When he went to the Raiders?

• 0:54Channing Crowder?

  Oh, you're talking about?

• 0:56Ryan Clark?

  Yeah. Vontae, then Tyreek?

• 0:58Channing Crowder?

  Yeah.

• 0:59Ryan Clark?

The boy from the playoffs. AJ?

• 1:02Channing Crowder?

  AJ, yeah.

• 1:11Channing Crowder?

She got my man. She got it. I told you, man. They receivers, man. They want to come out here sweating. Yeah, tell them, brother. Appreciate y'all. What up, T? What up? Pittsburgh's on. What's up, man?

• 1:23Speaker 04

  T, respect.

• 1:46Ryan Clark?

Hey, boys, man. Welcome to the Pivot, bro. It's the first time we've ever had three people on the show at the same time, but we feel like y'all three deserve it. I said it all year last year, man. Top skill group in football. T here against Ja'Marr Chase, Tyler Boyd, obviously Chantis here, the OG Freddie T. Man, welcome to the Pivot. Subscribe YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify. Make sure y'all like, you know, it's cool to get like the millions of views, but the likes are cool too. So I'm gonna jump right into it, man. I. I always have to like preface this when I'm on here with them because they've never played in Super Bowls. I have, you know what I'm saying? I played in two. And unfortunately, I lost one.

• 2:26Ryan Clark?

There's a very popular picture of you standing, Tyler and Confetti, and after you lose that game. And I remember the two weeks leading up to play, I never thought about losing. Like, you never think about that. What was that moment like for you? Why were you still standing there?

• 2:44Speaker 05

At that moment, I just wanted to soak it all in, you know, because for me, it was devastating. Because all the hard work we didn't put in with me, I've been here a little longer than those guys, you know, I've been through the worst of the worst and, you know, at the all-time high. You know, so just letting everything marinate, you know, just seeing what we should have accomplished, you know, so just being able to just sit there and just keep that picture in my mind, you know, is going to drive me to go even harder this year.

• 3:07Ryan Clark?

You know, Ja'Marr, I've actually never really seen you lose much. You know what I'm saying? Just being honest, you know what I mean? Whether it's Rummel in New Orleans, LSU, obviously, greatest football team in college football history, and, you know, you and Joe always came up in that moment. So I know for you, it was never a question of like, if we're gonna make the play, it was when it happens, when it's gonna happen. When you're running down the field on fourth down, Jalen falls, but then you see, you know, the pressure in the backfield, the ball fall to the ground, what's your first thought?

• 3:41Speaker 05

See, I knew that was the last play, so I just, you know what I'm saying, I walked off the field with anger through my helmet, you know what I'm saying? That was the first thing I did, but after that, I just was, damn. I ain't know, I was speechless after that point, you know, I didn't know what to think after that, I just know was speechless and the game was over.

• 3:54Channing Crowder?

What happens that night? Like you say, we ain't never, I ain't never go no Super Bowls, hell, I didn't even smell the Super Bowl. But, like, what's that feeling? What's that night? When you walk in the locker room, change, take a shower, like, what's that?

• 4:04Speaker 06

Man, I woke up that morning, I'm like, oh shit, it's about to be, I'm about to play in the biggest game of my life, you know what I'm saying? Not too many people, you know, played in the Super Bowl, like y'all said, y'all ain't playing it. I'm like, damn, so, it's my first time, you know, second year in the league, I'm already in a Super Bowl, it's like, man, I'm about to soak all this in, I'm about to, you know, shine, you know what I'm saying? This might be my last time, you never know.

• 4:25Ryan Clark?

  Yeah.

• 4:26Speaker 06

So, you know, I'm about to do what I can, do what I do, you know what I'm saying? Play my game, and I was able to go out there and, you know, showcase my skills, so.

• 4:34Channing Crowder?

What about the following morning for y'all boys?

• 4:36Ryan Clark?

  Yeah.

• 4:40Speaker 06

I ain't gonna lie, I woke up the next day like, damn. We was right there. Right there, we could have made one more play, you know what I'm saying?

• 4:49Speaker 05

It comes down to that one play. I mean, it hurt real bad. You know, but at the end of the day, you still gotta, you can't outweigh the positive of what we've done. You know, we did a lot to accomplish what we did. You know, nobody believed in us, nobody thought we can do it, but us. You know, and we built this thing, like I said, I've been here from the day we start rebuilding. You know, so just to go back and just sit down and just rethink about everything that would happen. You know, it was devastating to take the L. Nobody wants to lose at all, period, you know, especially on the higher stage. You know, but, I mean, we amounted to so much, you know, and everybody looked at us, everybody around the world now knows what we're about.

• 5:28Fred Taylor?

What's the immediate mindset like? Were there a lot of guys in the locker room saying, it's alright, we're gonna be alright, we'll be back?

• 5:34Speaker 05

Yeah, for sure, you know, but everybody gonna take that moment, real quiet, just listening to what's going on out there. You know, it's still kinda hard not to tune in, you know, but, I mean, I think that's pretty hard, it's feeling right after the game.

• 5:47Fred Taylor?

  Right.

• 5:48Speaker 05

You know, but after everybody get it together, cheer up, start talking again, everybody know what we accomplished again. You know, what we done to get to that point, so I mean, we all trust each other and we all know what we capable of and we know we gonna get right back.

• 6:01Fred Taylor?

So, speaking of accomplishments, you guys did something that probably hadn't been done in the NFL. I mean, between the three of you, you had over 3,300 yards, 24 touchdowns. That ain't easy, you know, led by the young man right here, but you're the elder statesman. Do you guys think you can duplicate that, you know, next year or outdo that with the group that you have right here?

• 6:23Speaker 05

Yeah, absolutely, you know, because I think the one thing about our particular group and other teams, we're very unselfish. You know, it's games where maybe I'll have a catch for 10 yards and that's it. You know, but I'm gonna go out there and make sure I can run my route the best of my ability to free up these guys. You know, and it's just so much unselfishness on this team, period. You know, it's what's gonna help you elevate the overall scheme and what we're trying to do, you know, so that when you play that way, then everything just start to come.

• 6:50Ryan Clark?

Yeah, Ja'Marr, you come in, you know, Tyler's established here, Tyler's gone, he's been here with AJ, he's been here with Ross and all those guys. T goes for 900 in his first year, obviously he's gonna come back and elevate as well. You get drafted fifth overall when many people thought they go for protecting Joe. Right? You didn't play your last year at LSU. You come into camp and you're getting all the outside noise. He can't catch. Right? And I'm on TV like, well, listen, I didn't watch the motherfucker catch football since he was 15. He could catch. You know, and then the year starts and you start bombing on people, you know, go balls. And then you have a little lull in the middle of the season, then you pick it back up.

• 7:33Ryan Clark?

What was that, that first year like for you, especially after being off for a year, your last year after college?

• 7:39Speaker 08

Yeah, definitely. You know what I'm saying? I had to get back into rhythm, you know what I'm saying? Knocking out the rust, whatever, however you want to say it, but just getting back, you know what I'm saying? With the pads on and the helmet, you know, that's different than offseason workouts, you know, training, getting in shape. So once I got back, you know, at practice, Cito, you know, definitely gave me good looks all, all camp, you know what I'm saying? To get me ready for the games. And, you know, at that point of the time, I just wanted to, you know what I'm saying? Get in where I fit in, you know what I'm saying? Just, just slowly make my mark and just, you know, show the guys that surround me that, you know, I can still play. I know they hand stuff, but you know, I'm letting them know that, you know, I'm still here. You know, Joe even knew that I was getting too hard on myself. But Joe was just, you know, telling me like, you know, I know what you could do. Just get back in the rhythm, play your game and, you know, we're gonna take off from there.

• 8:19Ryan Clark?

T, like, is there ever a conversation though, like y'all sitting in the locker room, you know, after the game, y'all done killed people. You like, hey, man, we is really killing these folks. You know what I'm saying? Like, you know, like when we were good in Pittsburgh, like defensively, we would walk into the stadium and we, me and Troy might be talking, I'd be like, bro, they might not score today. You know what I'm saying? Like you have that type of feeling. T, did you ever sit around or y'all sit on the sideline, y'all bombing on people? You like, this shit's actually easy.

• 8:45Speaker 06

Nah, word, yeah. All the time, you know what I'm saying?

• 8:48Ryan Clark?

  That Ravens game.

• 8:48Speaker 08

  Ravens game, Chiefs game.

• 8:50Speaker 06

All the time. We on the sideline, like, they can't double all of us. Somebody gotta go off. So that's how we look at it, you know what I'm saying? If they doubling, you know, one or two of us, next person man up. It's, you know, it's always more out there. So that's how we go about it.

• 9:02Channing Crowder?

Is that normal though? Cause receivers are divas. Like I'm a defensive dude. Like y'all, y'all boys is divas. Is it normal how y'all act? Where you like? 10 targets, 15 targets, I got one shot. No jealousy, none of that.

• 9:15Speaker 05

I mean, we want the ball.

• 9:16Speaker 06

I mean, nah, yeah, you know, receivers, you know, we want the ball. But, I mean, you got this much force, you know, firepower, you can't be, you can't, you gotta, you can't, you gotta be unselfish.

• 9:26Fred Taylor?

It's easier said than done, because you guys get the game plan in the script early in the week. And you know where, where the money gonna be made at, who gonna be at this position, X, Z, whatever. Then you get a little sophisticated move guys around. When you see the game plan, you go, fuck, I know that's six right there probably, in this situation. Do you light up, or do you say, fuck, I wish I was there? Is it any of that?

• 9:49Speaker 06

Nah, see, for me, I'm like, shit, they gonna get him one on one? Touchdown, touchdown, go do your thing, I'm going for me, you in the zone, we gonna dance.

• 9:57Fred Taylor?

It's easier to do that when you're winning, because you guys had a lot of success, right? Any pressure going into this next year?

• 10:03Speaker 06

I mean, I just feel like we just gotta play our game, just like how we did last year, man, just be us at the end of the day. You know what I'm saying? And dominate the guy in front of us, so.

• 10:12Speaker 05

As long as you go out there and do your job, not try to do too much, overwhelm yourself. And just think about keep making that big play to get your stats up, just let it come, I usually do.

• 10:22Ryan Clark?

So, Channing, so we've been walking around, and Channing keeps going, you know what? Cincinnati's nicer than I thought. And like, I don't know what he thought it was gonna be, but he's like, you know, Cincinnati.

• 10:31Channing Crowder?

I thought it'd be Cleveland. Cleveland is garbage.

• 10:35Ryan Clark?

Yeah, yeah, so, you know what I'm saying, we walking around, but, and I guess Tyler, like, you could talk to this a little bit, and obviously, T as well. It's a different feeling when you're playing really well, right? When, when the team is good, like, the city's different, folks treat you different, right? You walk into restaurants, and it ain't the same as it was, like, when you were 2 and 14, right? And then when you the AFC North champs, people treat you a different way. Have you seen that change in Cincinnati, in the city?

• 11:03Speaker 05

Yeah, for sure, you know, because, I mean, it's really just us and the Reds, you know, and at the time, when we're playing, it's just all about us. And then when things ain't going our way, the, we get less and less fans, you know, that, it ain't too many people there, you start kinda feel like, wow. Like, at the end of the day, we're in a National Football League, you know, we're still talented players, you still, like, I feel like we still should, people should still wanna come see us perform. At the end of the day, now that we're accomplishing what. They expect and want, you know, I mean, it's a greater feeling at the end of the day because we're winning, you know, and I mean, I'm just thankful for those who stuck out and rode for us in the long run, you know, but it's very, very good and satisfying to get the love around the city and just having that good feel.

• 11:48Ryan Clark?

Hey, like, it's crazy to sit with the three of y'all, right? All totally different, all can do different things, and then on the same side, can pretty much do everything. I'm old, and so when I played, it was Ocho, TJ, and Chris, God rest his soul, you know what I mean? And that was the trio. And what, Carson Palmer at quarterback? You know, this is like the second rendition of that, but they never accomplished the things that y'all did as a team. T, when you look at that, do y'all focus on being the three people or being a part of the team that changed this entire organization? Because when people look at Cincinnati, the same way he talks about the city, right?

• 12:32Ryan Clark?

People used to look at the team like that. Y'all know how it is when you get the schedule at the beginning of the year. We all sit around, we figure out when it's going, when our bye week is, right? When the hell we play in Cleveland because you don't want to play there in December, right? And then the other thing, you're like, yup, that's a dub, that one gonna be tight, that's a dub, oh, this one could go either way. I ain't gonna lie, I used to look at it and be like, oh, shoot, we got Cincy them, that's two wins right there, you know what I mean? You know, now, that's not happening. Like, what's that feeling like for you, T? You're like, nah, we're changing this thing around.

• 13:04Speaker 06

Yeah, so like, you know, my rookie year, we went, what, 4 and 12? And, you know, me being a Bengals fan, then in my whole life, you know what I'm saying? Growing up, just watching them play, seeing them lose, I'm like, alright, boom, rookie year, go through this and that, so boom, next season come, I'm like, boom, alright, boom, we got Chase.

• 13:22Speaker 05

We got a decent line, we got Burrow, a defense straight. And I said, I feel like, oh, we gonna, we gonna do something this year. You know what I'm saying? Just seeing us through camp and seeing how we working, seeing how we come together as a team in the locker room, all that. You know, we all hanging out outside the locker room and just come together as a team. You know, my rookie year, we didn't really do that as much, you know, obviously because COVID. COVID was going on and stuff like that, but you know, just seeing how together we was as a team. I just knew something special was about to happen. You know what I'm saying? And, you know, we showed it.

• 13:50Channing Crowder?

And like you said, you saw us do camp, but like really, because like your boys said, y'all shocked the world last year. You know, going to the Super Bowl. Nobody was favoring the damn Bengals to go to the Super Bowl. When did y'all really know? Like, was it a time, was it a game? Was it something that happened where y'all were like, fellas, we got these boys out there?

• 14:08Speaker 05

I think where we needed our must-win game was when we went to Denver. We were both 7-6 and whoever really got that win was going to, you know, climb closer and closer to making that run. And that's when we made our run. Then when we had faced the Chiefs, that's when I really knew like, oh yeah, we just ran through them, came back on them and everything. We could really make a run in there. That's the best, that's the AFC champs reigning. And we just did that to them. I mean, the sky was the limit after that.

• 14:37Ryan Clark?

So y'all are in Kansas City, beating y'all's AFC Championship. Halftime, they get a fourth down, throw it to Tyreek, defense stops him. That moment, knowing you got two quarters and you are down to a team that's been to the Super Bowl the last two years, been to the AFC Championship four years in a row. What's the locker room like for y'all? Because the defense just finally made a play, right? But at some point, offense, we got to come out, we got to do something. What was that tone in the locker room that led to what we saw in the second half?

• 15:11Speaker 05

Yeah, we came back in the locker room knowing what we had to do. You know what I'm saying? We knew exactly what we had to do, came in and talked about it perfectly. You know what I'm saying? And.

O-line picking themselves up, everybody picking themselves up on the offensive side, making sure we had each other's back. You know, when we got out there, we just made sure we was executing the right way, you know, calling out the calls the right way, even changing some calls. So we just made sure when we came out of halftime, we did our corrections the right way. You know what I'm saying? Everybody was on the same page, lifting each other up. Defense, we cheering on the defense in the locker room too. So we just had each other's back in the locker room, picking each other's up. And after that, you know, it was ballgame.

• 16:14Fred Taylor?

I'm gonna switch gears right here and pivot the whole conversation. Because we could talk football forever, right? I want to ask about your personal relationships with Burrow. He's not here right now. I know the morality of the team might be a little light. He's your true leader. But starting with you, Ja'Marr, because you guys got a bit more history. I hear you get his drip right. You make sure he's good. You drop off packages and just say Venmo me?

• 16:39Speaker 08

  Nah, that ain't true.

• 16:40Fred Taylor?

That ain't true for the free.

• 16:42Speaker 08

I ain't do that. I'm gonna get him some pants, though.

• 16:44Ryan Clark?

Like the GQ joint you did, Ja'Marr? I was, you from the NO, bro, like, no, I...

• 16:49Speaker 08

  That's some different.

• 16:50Ryan Clark?

No, I'm just gonna be honest. Like, I texted to them in disappointment. Because like, I know you. I was like, I was like, they had to make my dog wear this. Did you have any input?

• 17:00Speaker 08

I had some of them, but the ones they put out didn't, they ain't put out the ones, you know, that I really, really liked, you know, and all that. But the ones with like, with the little pink jacket, that was hard. The one with the MC Hammer pants. You know what I'm saying? That was they, that was they call on that one. They had like a little Gucci fit that was kind of hard, you know, with the loafers and some shorts type. But they didn't post that one, so. It's cool, though. I ain't tripping. I still made GQ.

• 17:21Fred Taylor?

What you gonna do when the rookies show up? At the rookie show? Y'all did a rookie show yet?

• 17:25Speaker 08

No, I think we have ours in about another week.

• 17:27Fred Taylor?

Somebody gonna try to bring a meme in there. What you gonna do?

• 17:30Speaker 08

Shit, they can have it. I ain't tripping. I ain't tripping, they can have it. You know what I'm saying? I ain't tripping. I'm gonna laugh with them.

• 17:37Speaker 05

  That boy pose is crazy.

• 17:38Speaker 08

I'm gonna laugh with them. They already, they already had us do something like that already.

• 17:42Fred Taylor?

  Oh yeah?

• 17:43Speaker 08

  Yeah.

• 17:43Fred Taylor?

Okay, okay. T, what's your personal relationship like with Burl?

• 17:47Speaker 06

You know what I'm saying, me coming in, he was just like, I beat you in a natty, but we on teams now, so let's get to work. And, you know, we just grew closer and closer every, ever since. And, you know, just, he that cool, relaxed dude, he don't really come out the house. So you gotta go to him if you wanna kick it with him. But sometimes he'd be like, y'all guys wanna go to dinner, this and that. But other than that, you know, me and Joe, we cool.

• 18:09Fred Taylor?

  Tyler?

• 18:10Speaker 05

Yeah, piggybacking off what T said, you know, it's kind of a more of a business relationship. You know, he really don't do too much outside, you know? So when he came, I knew, like, I knew I had like a guy that can, that can lead us the right way. You know, not to take anything away from Andy and the guys that I've been had, you know? But I just wanted to just connect on a level of how he see the defense structure and how he want me to maneuver around in certain landmarks and certain positions in zone. You know, once we kinda got that down packed and like he would, like I would read his mind knowing where he wanted me to be at that right time. So I think for me it was more so was just figuring out his, his play in football. Figuring out how he learns and studies the game.

• 18:53Ryan Clark?

You know, we talked a lot about last season and that's, that's dope. You know what I mean? You go to the Super Bowl. For you two, it can be deceiving, right? Year one, you go, year two, you go. It's like, shit, it's kinda easy. We gonna be back every year. You know what I mean? And, and I was lucky, I went to two in three years. The Steelers went to three in five years, you know, during that time. And every year we got to camp, we was like, we going to the Super Bowl. And y'all, you know, Tyler's been here longer. You've been on teams that you get in camp and you know, you ain't going to the Super Bowl. Right? Like it's just, nah, I'm saying you walk in the camp, you like, shit, I'm gonna make this money. I'm gonna, I'm gonna do my best, but we gonna be home first week of January. Right? Like you have that, but that's no longer, that's not, that's not what it is for y'all in 2022.

• 19:39Ryan Clark?

They know what you do. They know what you do. They know who you are. They know that Joe's a dog, right? Defense could go. What's the level of expectation now? Do y'all feel it's Super Bowl or bust?

• 19:51Speaker 08

I mean, yeah, you know what I'm saying? We feel, we know the standard now, you know what I'm saying? So. We know what it's gonna take to get us there, you know what I'm saying? We know how to execute in crunch times. We know what it's gonna be like in the playoffs. So now we have an understanding of how to get there. You know, now it's just time for us to execute, even though we still young. You know what I'm saying? Now it's just time for us to grow and learn in more other football game, you know, and our offense too, that's gonna help us in the long run.

• 20:13Speaker 06

Piggyback off what he said, you know, we know what it takes to get there. Uh, you know what I'm saying? We made some corrections in the offseason, got the O-line right now. And, you know, it's just, you just gotta get there at this point.

• 20:23Channing Crowder?

Y'all too young, boy. Like you was talking about, y'all balling college. We know them career, y'all got the numbers in the league. What's that transition like? What was the hardest thing from going to college balling? But now you playing with the best dudes in the world and still balling? What was the hardest thing coming from the college to go to the professional?

• 20:39Speaker 06

Yeah, for me, it was just like, you know, I'm in the league now, you know what I'm saying? I'm letting all that marinate, you know what I'm saying? I'm, I finally made it, I'm, I'm here, you know what I'm saying? And then I get on the field, I'm like, oh, these, these boys legit. Like, yeah, they not, they not bullshit. So I had to, I had to tighten up, you know what I'm saying? Go back and really lock in and watch films, you know, in college, you know what I'm saying? I was bullshitting around, you know what I'm saying? Watching film here and there. And then I got here, I'm like, oh yeah, I need to go see what these, what these guys do, how they do it, and, you know what I'm saying? And work my moves off that, you know what I'm saying? And, you know, practice that shit.

• 21:14Ryan Clark?

The other thing, you know, I, I wanna know about is fame. You play a position that when you ball at that position, you become faces of, of the team, faces of, of leagues, and people know you. And the, the adjustment from saying, like, being here when Tyler was here and they weren't good, and to now truly being superstars. I can start with you, T. How have you, how have y'all handled the attention, right? Cause the attention is gonna be different on y'all now, this year. How do you keep that fire after we've, we've had success? That, that the people are running up to us, they want autographs, they know we're stars now. Uh, Cincinnati Bengals matter. Right, and for years, that may not have been the case.

• 21:59Ryan Clark?

How have y'all handled that adjustment to fame as it pertains to just who you are?

• 22:03Speaker 05

For me, I just think, uh, we humble. You know, for me, I done, you know, I've been taking a lot of losing seasons, man, and, I mean, it been ups and downs, and now we getting that attention. I mean, like I said, it's rewarding, you know, it's to feel good about, you know, and, and, at the end of the day, I try not to, not to let it overwhelm me, to, to get me complacent. You know, I wanna just continue to, to work my craft, and just come each and every day, and work, you know, and everything just come. That's just the essential part of, of being, doing what we're doing.

• 22:34Ryan Clark?

Y'all in the AFC North, bruh.

• 22:38Ryan Clark?

No matter what anonymous defensive coordinator say about the quarterback in Baltimore, he can freak play. Right?

• 22:46Speaker 06

  For sure.

• 22:46Ryan Clark?

The Sean's in, in Cleveland now, he can go, right? The Pittsburgh Steelers are the Pittsburgh Steelers. You know what I'm saying? When y'all look at the AFC North, which y'all won last year, Ja'Marr Hell, you dang near ain't lost in three years. You look at the AFC North, you like, yeah, this is ours. We're gonna win it. Like, do you expect to win the AFC North again?

• 23:08Speaker 05

I mean, we expect to win every game. Every game we play out there, you know what I'm saying? That's the standard, like I said, you know what I'm saying? I hold him accountable, just like they holding me accountable, you know what I'm saying? Even though he the oldest, you know what I'm saying? We both get on each other, so, I mean, it's just holding everybody accountable, making sure we pushing each other right way. I mean, everybody wanna win, you know what I'm saying?

• 23:25Speaker 06

I'ma say, I expect to win this shit.

• 23:27Ryan Clark?

  There we go.

• 23:28Fred Taylor?

So with that, you know, coming off the Super Bowl loss, you know, here, the beginning of a new season, there is some excitement about getting back out there, so you can get that taste out. Like, you know, playing from week to week, and here you are in camp, you got the trio right here, Joe was here, and then now, you know, he, he's not here. We were out there earlier, hot as a motherfucker too, by the way.

• 23:47Ryan Clark?

Man, we so glad y'all took a long time. Chaney got that, man, Chaney got that thick sweatshirt on.

• 23:55Fred Taylor?

  Yeah, we burnt up.

• 23:56Ryan Clark?

Hey, I know they got the underground railroad thing over there. That's how you look. You look like you were running from slavery.

• 24:04Fred Taylor?

He would've been in the house. Dog time, boss.

• 24:08Fred Taylor?

Yeah, so we look out there and there's no Joe, right? So who's the leader out there? What's the morale, you know, with everybody?

• 24:16Speaker 05

I think on the offensive standpoint, it's pretty much us three, you know, and Joe Mixon. You know, because we're the guys that set the standards. We're the guys everybody look at to figure out how it's done, you know, and figure out how we move, not just on the field, but off. You know, off the field, I think I do a lot of the just picking guys up, you know, just keeping them together, you know, just making them feel comfortable around the facility, just making them feel wanted, making them feel like they're a huge role in this team, even if they're not a starter. You know, I think at the end of the day, y'all talked a lot about Watson and these other guys coming on to team. See, our advantage is we already built that. We're already a connected team. We're already played together. We already know the offense. These guys still coming in, not to say that they're not gonna be good,

• 25:00Speaker 05

but I think we're gonna be more connected and that's what's gonna push us to that level.

• 25:04Fred Taylor?

Ja'Marr, after taking a year off of college, then you come in, you kill the league, just murder the league. And you get Offensive Rookie of the Year. Offensive Rookie of the Year. Could you have ever envisioned that, especially after not playing a year? And would you trade that for a Super Bowl ring?

• 25:22Speaker 05

Ooh, shit. Hell, yeah. Honestly, yeah. I'd trade that. Quick. But I mean, I just came in trying to play my part. Like I said, you know, that was a goal of mine, but you know, once it really happened, then I shocked myself. You know what I'm saying? Like, there's always more to push myself. But I always shock myself when I do things, and that was definitely something I shocked myself with.

• 25:41Channing Crowder?

I gotta ask y'all, man. I don't see no wedding ring, so I can ask my questions. I think, I'm a man, I can tell other dudes y'all are good-looking guys.

• 25:49Fred Taylor?

  Here he goes.

• 25:51Channing Crowder?

Which one of y'all get the baddest one, so? Which one of y'all really just do? I heard some stories about you.

• 26:01Speaker 08

  That's what it is.

• 26:04Speaker 05

Yeah, I had my fair share, you know, I'm the oldest, but they, they, they come around too.

• 26:09Ryan Clark?

  I'm coming now.

• 26:10Channing Crowder?

But, but TV, we're older dudes. Sometimes the young boys ain't got no game like that.

• 26:14Speaker 05

Yeah, he be calling me an old pimp, man. The way I talk to him, but...

• 26:18Speaker 08

You talk like a little pimp, that's all.

• 26:19Speaker 05

  I'm a smooth guy, man.

• 26:22Speaker 08

You just talk slick, I ain't gonna lie, talk slick.

• 26:24Channing Crowder?

  We gotta learn, man.

• 26:26Ryan Clark?

So like you said, you had your fair share. There's a famous woman on a... I'm trying to get it straight. She was on a talk show. Oh, nah. Right? And it was around the Super Bowl, and she said she was going for the Bengals. This young lady doesn't seem like she knows a lot about football. Just saying, you know? But the jersey she had on had 83 on it.

• 26:53Ryan Clark?

I'm no genius, right? I played safety. I never played quarterback. Was it like a throwback 83? Or was it the 83 that played for Cincinnati now?

• 27:03Speaker 05

It was the 83 we know today.

• 27:04Ryan Clark?

  Oh.

• 27:06Channing Crowder?

  He doing it, doing it.

• 27:07Ryan Clark?

Okay, so you're just not gonna say the name? Elaborate. Yeah, like elaborate on it. Tell us a little bit. Old pimp.

• 27:18Speaker 05

Nah, it was just, you know, some little relationship or things we had going on in the past, you know? And then, you know, in her run, I guess she had that interview come up, and it got talked about, about the Bengals and the Super Bowl, you know? And she happened to know somebody specifically playing on our team, you know? We had some past history of linking up and just talking and, you know, and...

• 27:42Channing Crowder?

I need him. He said just talking is...

• 27:53Fred Taylor?

T, um, man, I wanna ask you, bro, uh, cuz I just saw your basketball highlights from high school. And, uh, you had some offers, North Carolina, right? Michigan, Louisville, just a few of them that I saw.

• 28:06Speaker 06

  Hooping, hooping.

• 28:07Fred Taylor?

  Hooping, hooping.

• 28:07Speaker 06

  You get those.

• 28:08Fred Taylor?

Man, you're a dog out there. So, so, bruh, with the amount of money they making in the NBA, why you chose football?

• 28:16Speaker 06

So, so, my high school coach, you know what I'm saying, Kawhi Graham, shout out to my dog. He, he told me, he say, "Listen, T, you 6'5", right? I was like, "Yeah." He say, "Well, you, you Steph height for real." I got to thinking, he say, "In, in football, in the league, you huge out there." So, I'm like, "You right." But at the time, I'm like buck 50. I'm, I'm, I'm not wearing nothing. I'm like, "Coach, look at my size, though. I'm a hooper, like, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm out, I'm, I'm ready to go hoop." He like, "Listen, trust me. Stick to football, play through your senior year in high school, and then, you know, make your decision then."

• 29:00Speaker 06

And, you know, I say, I started getting my offers my sophomore year in high school, and then I was like, "Man, I'm going with football." You know what I'm saying? It was just, it was, it was night and day after that, so.

• 29:10Fred Taylor?

So, it's easy to say you the best basketball player on the team right now?

• 29:13Speaker 06

  1,000%.

• 29:14Fred Taylor?

  I don't know about that.

• 29:15Speaker 06

  TB, don't do that, bro.

• 29:16Fred Taylor?

His handling, he got good handling.

• 29:19Speaker 06

Good handling? I shoot better than you.

• 29:20Fred Taylor?

Uh, it's, it's made for TB. We can see that match, we can see some of that?

• 29:24Speaker 06

  Nah, yeah.

• 29:25Speaker 08

  At some point?

• 29:26Speaker 06

Nah, TB, TB know. He know.

• 29:28Fred Taylor?

He know I can shoot with him.

• 29:29Speaker 05

  You quiet, what's up?

• 29:30Fred Taylor?

Look, a nigga, I don't shoot no, I don't play basketball. I been hanging that up. Junior, I tied it up. I stopped playing. Quick, quick.

• 29:37Channing Crowder?

Coach see the ass on that basketball court, he gonna get hot.

• 29:40Speaker 05

He was the one hacking, putting in, watching the best man, D-ing him up. That was his role.

• 29:44Fred Taylor?

  Right.

• 29:44Channing Crowder?

I, I got, especially the young boys, cuz y'all, y'all, y'all young boys are different. What y'all wasting y'all money on nowadays?

• 29:52Speaker 05

  Clubbing.

• 29:53Channing Crowder?

What's the dumbest, what's the dumbest, the dumbest decision you done made with bread?

• 29:58Speaker 06

I don't know. I, I be buying jewelry, but I don't be having too much, I don't have too much jewelry. Me, personally, I buy too many clothes. You know what I'm saying? I just, I just keep buying clothes, man. I don't even need all them clothes, you know what I'm saying? My closet look, I need to clean that shit out.

• 30:15Channing Crowder?

And you know that and you going back to the mall?

• 30:18Speaker 06

I don't know, I just, I just like clothes, man. I see something like, hit my peoples up, "Ay, I need that right there." That's fire. I can wear that next, next week, you know what I'm saying? Get a call from, from the FA, "Ay, bro, lil' bro, you gotta chill. You trippin'. Come on now."

• 30:34Channing Crowder?

  Financial advisor.

• 30:35Speaker 06

Chill out, chill out. I'm like, "Ay, worry, worry, worry. You right, you right." Two weeks later, "Ay, I need that."

• 30:42Fred Taylor?

Who got, who got the hardest whip? And I don't usually ask these kind of questions, cause I always go the other way. Where I wanna say, "Man, that shit ain't gonna mean nothing in five years." You know what I'm saying? But I gotta know right now, for now. Because we don't have enough time, really, you know, to run that whole financial, that whole thing. But who got the hardest whip right now? I probably got it.

• 31:01Speaker 06

  Yeah, that's definitely you.

• 31:01Fred Taylor?

I probably got it. Yeah, what you driving? I got a double R.

• 31:06Speaker 00

• 31:36Channing Crowder?

I don't even know what, I don't even know what that is. What'd he say?

• 31:38Speaker 06

  It's a, it's a Rolls Royce?

• 31:40Channing Crowder?

  Oh, okay.

• 31:41Fred Taylor?

He's serious, too. Y'all should've seen the Uber he put us in last night.

• 31:46Channing Crowder?

Brother, dude, open the trunk and put a kickstand.

• 31:49Fred Taylor?

Kickstand on that motherfucker. To hold the backup. It was a minivan, no hubcaps. He's so old school, he just downloaded Uber. He just got TSA. He don't know where the devil R is.

• 32:01Channing Crowder?

No black truck? They don't got no black trucks out here?

• 32:03Speaker 05

  Black truck?

• 32:04Speaker 06

They just got, they just got the little, uh, black cars.

• 32:07Channing Crowder?

Ain't nothing wrong with the minivan. I'm nice.

• 32:09Speaker 06

  Spacious, a little spacious.

• 32:12Fred Taylor?

But damn, Chan, you gotta warn us first.

• 32:14Speaker 06

Yeah, he got an old Suburban. His wife be trying to get him to upgrade, cause she embarrassed of him. She did upgrade his teeth, though.

• 32:21Channing Crowder?

  Oh, yeah. I'm killing him.

• 32:23Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 32:26Ryan Clark?

I ain't gonna lie, we was waiting for it too. Let me see. But for real, man, you know, we know we gotta get y'all out of here. First of all, we want to tell you how honored we are and how much we appreciate y'all taking time. Like, all of us have been through training camp. We understand how your time has to be utilized, how important it is. So to sit down with the best trio of receivers during this time of year, you know, it means a lot to us, you know what I'm saying? The unke and OG thing, sometimes it gets, I'm like, I'm not that dang old, but hell, I coached him in high school. So, man, so, so maybe I am, man. Just, you know, I'd like all of y'all to get a chance to answer, man. What are you most looking forward to in 2022? What's there still to prove?

• 33:10Speaker 05

Definitely that Super Bowl, man. That's it. I think we accomplished everything we accomplished individually and as a group and as a team, you know? I think that's, that's, that's the final goal for us right now, you know? And we all want to get to 1,000 yards. You know, I was short 200, 180 or something like that, but, um, at the end of the day, like I said, all that stuff comes. As long as we tighten up, tighten up everything and come out victorious at the end of this season in February, then I think that's, that's the primary goal.

• 33:40Speaker 08

Yeah, I was doing the same thing, but I do got a personal goal, but like he said, though, just getting to the Super Bowl.

• 33:46Ryan Clark?

  What's the personal goal?

• 33:47Speaker 08

I want the triple crown. I ain't gonna lie. Cooper Cup did set that, set that up, you know what I'm saying? He done made a pavement for, for all receivers, you know what I'm saying? He at the top of the top and highest right now, so definitely that's one of my goals off, not just this year, but going forward.

• 33:58Speaker 06

Yeah, for me, you know what I'm saying? Like he said, obviously the Super Bowl, but I want all three of us to hit that 1,000. You know what I'm saying? I want that to happen. And I say, I don't know if it's ever been done. Has it been done?

• 34:09Speaker 05

I don't think it has, I'm not sure.

• 34:10Speaker 06

We can be the first one, so you know what I'm saying? That's, that's our goal, that's my goal for us this year, and I'm gonna push these two guys just like I'm gonna push myself.

• 34:17Fred Taylor?

We definitely rooting for that, definitely rooting for you guys to win the Super Bowl. You guys saw the Kevin Hart episode?

• 34:22Speaker 08

Nah, I ain't watched it yet.

• 34:23Fred Taylor?

Yeah, I ain't watched it yet? Well, Channing asked Kevin to go on vacation with him. Like, he's naked.

• 34:27Channing Crowder?

You want to go on vacation with me? Y'all win the Super Bowl, I take y'all to a nude.

• 34:31Fred Taylor?

  Facts.

• 34:32Channing Crowder?

  A nude colony.

• 34:33Fred Taylor?

  Nah, nah, I wouldn't, I wouldn't say that.

• 34:34Channing Crowder?

Go to a colony with naked people.

• 34:36Speaker 06

Do I gotta be naked too?

• 34:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, we all get naked.

• 34:39Fred Taylor?

  Pass on that.

• 34:43Ryan Clark?

He walk in and get a little wristband, you come in, just everybody's walking around naked.

• 34:47Fred Taylor?

I'm not comfortable. That's uncomfortable. So turn him down right now, it's a rap, they saying no.

• 34:52Ryan Clark?

Hey, look what he said though, he said that's uncomfortable.

• 34:55Fred Taylor?

  Ain't no way.

• 34:56Ryan Clark?

Nah, he's, but he don't eat, he doesn't eat around the naked people though, cuz he don't like the stuff around.

• 35:01Fred Taylor?

They try to put meat in his eggs, and he ain't talking about turkey sausage. So, yeah, he a, he a different dude.

• 35:08Speaker 08

Y'all get a little old, y'all get a little old, y'all have to figure it out.

• 35:10Speaker 06

Nah, I ain't ever going up.

• 35:12Ryan Clark?

Obviously, you get to this point, man, and you've kinda like, you've come off vacation. You know what I'm saying? Like, people don't understand the, the grind of what it is. And we didn't play seventeen games, right? So you, you know, you go seventeen games and, and then you play well into February now. And, and then now you're, you're back at it. For people who don't understand what the stressors of this job is like, and especially for you two being young, Tyler probably had, was able to understand it more, being a veteran. What have y'all done to not only keep your, your body right and ready to go for that much time, but be strong here in the mental?

• 35:54Speaker 06

Oh, for me, my rookie year, you know what I'm saying? I, I hit it hard mentally, you know what I'm saying? A lot, a lot of the guys don't know it, but I hit it hard, you know what I'm saying? I was questioning myself, do I belong, you know what I'm saying? This is through our training camp, like, do I belong, this and that? You know, I got help, I asked for help and got help.

• 36:11Ryan Clark?

  Wow.

• 36:12Speaker 06

And, you know, mentally now, I'm like, I'm there.

• 36:15Ryan Clark?

Did you have to see a therapist or?

• 36:17Speaker 06

  Mm-hmm.

• 36:17Ryan Clark?

  Really?

• 36:18Speaker 06

I seen a therapist, yep. And then, you know, now, now I'm, I'm good. Anytime I have any setbacks, I call, I call that therapist and, you know, talk to them, and they get me back on track, so that was me.

• 36:28Ryan Clark?

Ja'Marr, did you, did you deal with anything when the whole, he can't catch, he's gonna be a bust, you know, thing was out?

• 36:36Speaker 08

Yeah, I was definitely in my head, you know what I'm saying? I was always in my head about it. But I knew what I could do, you know what I'm saying? It was just me getting out of my head and... Just finding that extra push and strength for myself, you know what I'm saying? Just to get myself where everybody expected me to be, you know what I'm saying? I know I wasn't there yet, but it was always me trying to get there. And the guys around me definitely helped me, but you know what I'm saying? I was always in my head too much thinking, overthinking stuff. But you know, once I got out of my head and started playing comfortable again, you know, I just wanted to come in the league and just play football. And then I started hearing rumors about myself, then I'm like, damn, what's going on? So it was so much, but once I got in my head, they tried to mess me up, you know what I'm saying? So I got out of it.

• 37:12Channing Crowder?

Y'all all, like I said, y'all so tight, y'all steady, y'all do all that together. Real recognize real. And you playing some of the best in the world, like you said, when you walked out here. When y'all go to play, who do y'all go to play? What DBs, what corners? When y'all going into that week, y'all like, bruh. Especially you talking to the young boy, young man can stick. He's top five? Give me a Mount Rushmore. You don't gotta go one through five, no order, but just, just give me some guys. Ooh, Mount Rushmore DBs. When you walking out there to play, you know they gonna go give you all hell.

• 37:39Speaker 08

I just give you one, Denzel Ward off dunk. I think that's for all thrillers, you know what I'm saying? Not just because Cleveland talk the most shit, but just because, you know what I'm saying? Denzel Ward did his thing, you know what I'm saying? Same for Greg Newsom, I don't think he elite, but he definitely, they all just talk crazy. So it ain't somebody we circling, it's, yeah, we see them.

• 37:58Channing Crowder?

  Tighten up for him.

• 38:00Speaker 08

Ain't even that, it's just no, it's game time when we see him. Ain't no crunch up, green, it's on sight, like, yeah.

• 38:06Speaker 06

  It's that, it's that.

• 38:07Speaker 08

It's just on sight when we see him, that's it.

• 38:09Ryan Clark?

I love that, so Denzel's on it?

• 38:11Channing Crowder?

  Humphrey.

• 38:12Ryan Clark?

Both of you, you gave Marlon like two reels though.

• 38:16Speaker 08

Oof. Yeah, something like that, well, I don't even know what it was.

• 38:19Ryan Clark?

He was disgusted. Alright, so, so Marlon, Denzel, we had Jalen on the show, right? We had Jalen Ramsey on the show.

• 38:26Speaker 06

  He obviously on that.

• 38:27Ryan Clark?

We talked about y'all two though, that game, cause he was, he was like, man, you went one hand on him, right? You dunked on him, scored, no, I just, it's, and we love him, like, he is like, he's like family of the show. But even him, like, I remember sitting in the stands at that game, like, dang, like, these boys don't care, like, they really going at him. Would he be somebody though, that y'all still put up there with Denzel and Humphrey?

• 38:50Speaker 06

Nah, for sure, yeah, yeah, I mean, kinda got to, you know what I'm saying? Just, just what he's done in the league type shit, so.

• 38:58Fred Taylor?

So that's three. Mount Rushmore, give us one more, so we can wrap this thing up.

• 39:01Speaker 06

Alright, me, I'mma put Darius Slay in it.

• 39:05Ryan Clark?

  Ooh, yeah.

• 39:05Speaker 06

I like his game, you know what I'm saying? He patient.

So for y'all, I gotta get this straight, because I don't want, we can't misquote y'all, right? Because you know what happen, man? You come on the show, so for y'all, it's not that, so those are the top DBs, but you're saying, like, when we playing those guys, we understand what it's about. I love the fact that you say when you see Denzel, or you see Cleveland, it's on sight. You know what I mean? Because he got an on sight list too, but it's just different.

  Yeah. Big list.

I ain't get to play against Jair Alexander though, you know what I'm saying? He ended up missing a game, so that was something I wanted to, you know what I'm saying? Really want to play against for real, you know? But other than that, though, that's just main, you know, top dog on my list for sure.

• 39:44Ryan Clark?

You know how different y'all are than I was? I'm not gonna lie, I didn't want to play none of y'all. I'm just gonna be honest, dawg. Like, if we go, I'm being straight up. Like, if I was coming to a game, and it was like, "Yeah, you know, T, he got a little ankle, Ja'Marr is out, Tyler's ribs, hmm, okay, yes." You know, like, other people, they'd be like, "Man, I want to beat them at their best." I'm not really tripping on all that. I just want to win, you know what I mean? I want to win and not get bombed on.

• 40:16Speaker 08

  Facts.

• 40:17Ryan Clark?

You know what I mean? People could be like, "You playing this running back, ooh, ooh." I used to be like, "Ah, I'm not really worried about him." What I'm worried about is when this boy go for 80 on me, and I gotta still show this effort as he running into the end zone. I don't, you know what I'm saying? Well, then you just, now you just go high knee and dorsiflex, but you know you're not gonna catch him? You know what I'm saying? Like, that's the problem that I have. Freddie T, you gonna give him the flowers, man?

• 40:40Fred Taylor?

Always, man, definitely. Y'all, hey, three young dogs, the OG, like me, the OG.

• 40:46Speaker 08

• 41:13Ryan Clark?

You was out there standing with Puka, bro? Because Freddie T was like, "Man," he was like, "T, Higgins look," he was like, "T look like he's 6'8." I was like, "You gotta realize too, Puka 5'7."
