Usually the conversation around here is about football. Today, the topic is gas for one of the sponsors. Specifically, Mobil Supreme Plus Premium Gasoline. Let's start with the fact that Mobil Supreme Plus Premium is amazing. It keeps engines three times cleaner, so engines perform better for better gas mileage. Just ask motorsports legend Shirley Chacha Muldowney. She raced top fuel dragsters in the 70s. So she knows a thing or two about gasoline. She also knows a thing or two about the 70s. So if there are any questions about leisure suits, vinyl, or fondue, fire away. One might wonder why they call her Chacha. Like, is it a family name, or a marketing ploy? Or maybe she thought it sounded cool? It's very curious. Getting back to fuel, Shirley and the team highly recommend Mobil Supreme Plus Premium Gas.

Because it keeps engines three times cleaner for better performance and gas mileage. By the way, Chacha Muldowney, she drove a pink car. Mobil: Legendary. Three times cleaner compared to Mobil regular gas and port fuel-injected engines. Actual results may vary. Visit mobilfuels.com for details.

And, uh, we're also gonna get very specific LA food, uh, reviews. Don't worry, I'll make sure my microphone away from my mouth while I'm chewing. Uh, I got those notes last time, guys. Thanks for that. Um, anyways, before we get to any of that, we're gonna get to a little bit of that, uh,

• 3:18Travis Kelce?

  Nah, nah, nah.

• 3:19Speaker 04

  New news!

• 3:20Travis Kelce?

  New news, coming in hot.

• 3:22Speaker 04

Make it easy for you guys. All right. Travis, we have a playing update, or you have a playing update.

• 3:40Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 3:40Speaker 04

It has since been announced, uh, that you are playing another season.

• 3:44Travis Kelce?

  It is, yes.

• 3:45Speaker 04

Um, and I did wanna say, a year ago, I announced my retirement.

• 3:50Travis Kelce?

  Mm-hmm.

• 3:51Speaker 04

Uh, so we have to address the huge news that you are coming back this year. Is it because you've seen me in retirement and you're like, fuck that?

• 3:59Travis Kelce?

No. Uh, I actually, I, I think you've, you've handled it perfectly, Jason.

• 4:03Speaker 04

  Thank you, thank you, Travis.

• 4:04Travis Kelce?

I think you've, you've thrived outside of, uh, missing an Eagle Super Bowl. Um, I think you absolutely killed it, dude.

• 4:10Speaker 04

  You fucking dick.

• 4:12Travis Kelce?

Yeah, well, that's the only way I can have fun with it. No, but I, I do think you have absolutely killed it in retirement. Um, that didn't persuade me in any way.

• 4:21Speaker 04

Why are you playing another season? Why are you going to go out there, risk injury?

• 4:26Travis Kelce?

  Whoa.

• 4:27Speaker 04

And make less money than you could make not playing football? Why are you doing this?

• 4:31Travis Kelce?

That, well, that was kind of the one I had to juggle.

• 4:35Travis Kelce?

I think the, the biggest thing is that I fucking love playing the game of football.

• 4:39Speaker 04

  That's a good reason.

• 4:40Travis Kelce?

I, I love playing. I still feel like I could play it at a high level. Um, and possibly at a higher level than I did last year. I don't think it was my best outing, you know? I think, uh, I let my guys down in a lot more moments than I, than I helped them. Uh, especially if you look at my track record and how I've been in, uh, years past.

• 4:57Speaker 04

  I know that's true.

• 4:58Travis Kelce?

I just, you know, I, um, I want to give it a good run. I got a bad taste in my mouth on how I ended the year and, and, uh, how well I was playing. And, you know, how accountable I was for the people around me. And I love so many people in Kansas City, both in that facility, uh, in the community. Um, and it's home for me now. And, um, you know, I don't, uh, I don't want to leave that life yet. I put in a lot of, a lot of hard work and I put in a lot of, you know, focus into, um, into being the best that I can for KC. And, um, last year it just, uh, it didn't end well for us. And, um, I just, I feel like there's a responsibility in me to, to play out the contract that I initially signed. Um, to give Kansas City and the Chiefs organization, everything that I got. And, uh, and that's what I'm going to do, man.

• 5:43Speaker 04

Awesome. Well, I think, I hear what you're saying. I think, you know, it's hard losing a straight bowl. And you, you feel like there's so many things you could have done better or whatnot. And you kind of referenced it, like you could have been whatever. I think, don't lose sight of the big reason that you guys are there is because of who you are. You know what I mean? And I think sometimes you lose sight of that when you don't maximize the. You know, the, the end goal, which is winning the Super Bowl. So I know you're going to be dedicated like you always are. Keeps getting harder though. What, what's your plan? What, first of all, what was your decision making process? How does Travis Kelce go about making big life decisions?

• 6:21Travis Kelce?

Well, it's similar to all the other decisions I make and it's just off a feel. I don't really, I'm not a very-

• 6:27Speaker 04

I relish that about you so much.

• 6:29Travis Kelce?

I'm not a big like measure the pros and cons and all of that. I, I just go off a feel and I just-

• 6:35Speaker 04

  Pure gut.

• 6:36Travis Kelce?

A pure gut feeling and I, um, I fucking love this game, man. And not only that, I love going into the building with the guys that are there.

• 6:43Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 6:43Travis Kelce?

You know, Coach Reed has been, uh, one of the big, biggest influences on my life. Um, not just in the game of football. Um, and you know, I don't want to, I don't want to stop going to work with him. I don't want to stop learning from him. I don't want to stop, you know, uh, being the reason why he has success or being a part of the reason he has success. You know, I like to, I want that guy to have the most success in the world because of who he's been to my, my life. And that's the same with Pat. Uh, that's the same with, you know, guys like Brett Veach and, and Mark Donovan and, uh, Coach Spags and, you know, Tom Melvin. You know, there's so many people in that building.

• 7:19Speaker 04

A lot of good names to me.

• 7:21Travis Kelce?

You know, David Glover, there's so many people in that building that I love, uh, with all my heart, man. And I just, I, I want to keep living, living out those dreams and, uh, and going to work with them. And, um, yeah, I never, uh, I never once kind of second guessed it. It was always in the back of my mind, even, even when it got tough last year on the body or when it, uh, got tough after the Super Bowl and you know, you're at your all time low. It's just, there's, there's something in a motivating factor that, you know, you can do this and, and, and you want to do this. And I just, you know, I, I pulled the trigger as soon as I, uh, as soon as I knew that, you know, I had that feeling.

• 8:01Speaker 04

Yeah. And I think you, you knew the whole time. I, I felt like even when I was, would talk to you, and we didn't really talk pointedly about this. You never asked my advice on this, which I asked your advice. So I feel a little hurt that you didn't ask my advice.

• 8:14Travis Kelce?

  You didn't take my advice.

• 8:15Speaker 04

But it's fine. All right. Um, I felt like you always, you, you wanted to come back. It felt like that from the moment. After the game, it felt like that two, a week after, two weeks and I was like, ah, he's going to play again. He's not ready to stop. So.

• 8:28Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 8:28Speaker 04

I think it's the right decision. And you talk about feel. I brought this up on Chuck's podcast, but there's one thing that I very much like. I feel like whenever I make a decision or I'm like big time deals.

• 8:39Travis Kelce?

You call Charles Barkley Chuck now?

• 8:42Speaker 04

Is that not what everybody calls him?

• 8:42Travis Kelce?

  That's a surreal moment. I'm just saying.

• 8:44Speaker 04

  Everybody not called Charles Chuck?

• 8:45Travis Kelce?

No, I literally told everyone my name was Charles because it was, his name's Charles Barkley. That's pretty cool though. That's pretty full. That's just a full circle moment. Keep going.

• 8:54Speaker 04

My bad, my bad. So I'm on Charles and Ernie's podcast. Shout out to the steam room. I forget how we got on the topic, but I start telling them about like, a lot of times like when I'm trying to make a big decision, I like really overanalyze things and I think way too hard about this thing and that thing and this thing and I'll call you and you have this really good way of not worrying about all these little meaningless dumb fucking things that I'm worried about.

• 9:17Travis Kelce?

  It kinda means.

• 9:18Speaker 04

Or these what could be or what ifs. It's like, no, just what do you want to do? Do you want to play football or not? Do you want to do this or not? Like, and I think that nine times out of 10, it's like, great advice for me to get out of my own head and it's helped me before. So, I don't know why I'm bringing it up. I just always.

• 9:33Travis Kelce?

  Well, I mean, there's, there's some.

• 9:34Speaker 04

There's some. I'm jealous that you don't think about things in, in a way that makes you, uh, what's the word? Bogged down?

• 9:43Travis Kelce?

  I hear you, man.

• 9:44Speaker 04

  Indecisive.

• 9:45Travis Kelce?

I hear you. And don't get it twisted. There's always like that indecisiveness for sure.

• 9:49Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 9:50Travis Kelce?

Like in my mind, I think I can be a better player than I was last year.

• 9:54Speaker 04

Yeah. I mean, I feel like.

• 9:55Travis Kelce?

  And then there's times.

• 9:56Speaker 04

Every, every great player always feels that way.

• 9:57Travis Kelce?

  And so it's like.

• 9:58Speaker 04

And you just, you, but you just think about it more now because of the way the season went.

• 10:02Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 10:03Speaker 04

So I think, uh, there's a lot of other things that compound on that, but how big a factor was losing a Super Bowl? And the decision.

• 10:10Travis Kelce?

It was probably the biggest factor.

• 10:11Speaker 04

If you would have won, would you have come back for another season?

• 10:17Travis Kelce?

I mean, it's a pretty cool way to go out, but I still, I, I think I would still have this love for the game and the feeling and yeah.

• 10:24Speaker 04

If you want to play, you want to play.

• 10:25Travis Kelce?

  Yeah. I think.

• 10:26Speaker 04

Shouldn't make that be a factor.

• 10:27Travis Kelce?

I think I would have thought about it more.

• 10:29Speaker 04

  Sure.

• 10:30Travis Kelce?

If we would have won. I think because we lost and how we lost.

• 10:34Speaker 04

Going out on top is nice.

• 10:35Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 10:36Speaker 04

It's not how I did it. I went out crying on the fucking field because I saw Jeff Stalin and, and was like, man, this might be the last time I ever see him. Don't do that.

• 10:46Travis Kelce?

  See him every week.

• 10:47Speaker 04

  Yeah, but it's different.

• 10:49Travis Kelce?

  All right, I got you.

• 10:50Speaker 04

  Shout out.

• 10:50Travis Kelce?

100% the, the ending of that game, I feel like I owe the guys that I come into that building with a whole lot more effort and focus and I, I just don't know what it was during that game, man. I, I wasn't at my best and the more that I see clips or watch the film and, you know, put myself back into those moments, man, I'm just like,

• 11:12Speaker 04

  I've seen the clips.

• 11:13Travis Kelce?

What the fuck? And I just, I think it's just.

• 11:15Speaker 04

  Don't overanalyze it, Trev.

• 11:16Travis Kelce?

No, you have to overanalyze. That's the only way you, that's the only way you find, you know, at least that's one of the ways I find motivation.

• 11:23Speaker 04

  Of not overanalyzing.

• 11:24Travis Kelce?

  But that's, that's.

• 11:25Speaker 04

  So don't overanalyze it.

• 11:26Travis Kelce?

But that's how I find motivation. That's how I create the beast. That's how I flip the switch.

• 11:31Speaker 04

All I'm saying, people put like the clip up where like Pat scrambling around and you're just standing there, right? And then he runs and then your guy hits him.

• 11:38Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 11:38Speaker 04

Nine times out of 10, everybody else in that situation is going to be standing there too. And I know that that's not acceptable.

• 11:43Travis Kelce?

  It's not.

• 11:43Speaker 04

And like when I watch myself do that, I would watch myself, sometimes the quarterback gets sacked and you watch it on tape and you're like, hey, you fucking idiot, go over there and help the fucking guy up. Or like, why are you just walking away from your running back, help the running back up. As a good teammate, you think about things like that.

• 11:59Travis Kelce?

  I hear you, man.

• 11:59Speaker 04

You ask anybody in that locker room, if you give good effort and who, who's a good teammate and all this show, you're going to get a much different answer. Anyways, do you have extra motivation this year going into the season?

• 12:08Travis Kelce?

  I mean,

• 12:12Travis Kelce?

yes, yes and no. I've been in, unfortunately, I've been in a situation where I didn't play my best in the final game and the biggest game of my life and speaking about Tampa and.

• 12:22Speaker 04

  Yeah, I know.

• 12:22Travis Kelce?

Tampa Super Bowl. And I think, um, you know, you try and make it everything and I just, you don't find the love of the game doing that. And I feel like I play my best when I've, when I'm out there playing it for the right reasons.

• 12:35Speaker 04

  Sure.

• 12:35Travis Kelce?

You know, can it be motivation in the off season to, to, you know, go out and get a few extra reps, go out and run that extra mile, go out and, you know, get a few more catches on the jugs, go out and, you know, work a little bit harder, watch some extra film, really analyze what you're showing the opponent, really analyze, you know, how you're running your routes so that guys can't get a tick on, on what route you're running. All of that can help get you where you are, but you can't go into it like this mad human being that is just like.

• 13:07Travis Kelce?

I don't know, has this built up animosity about, you know, the world and how it didn't go their way and like I need to this, I'll only be satisfied if it goes my way because you know, after Tampa, it didn't go my way. I didn't even make it back to the Super Bowl that next year. So there's, there's ways to, to go out there and motivate yourself to be better than you were yesterday. Get extra reps, really put everything you have into your preparation. But at the end of the day, man, I'm, I play my best when I go out there and I have fun, man. And I don't, I don't play my best when I go out there and I'm just pissed off at the world and I'm trying to be, be the bully because I'm playing against guys that act like the bullies.

• 13:47Speaker 04

So how do you have fun?

• 13:49Travis Kelce?

Um, you go out there and you, you go to work and you, uh, and you build that chemistry with the guys around you. And I think we got a young, fun team. We're gonna get my guy, Rashid Rice back. We're gonna get hopefully the wide receiver room that we, you know, accumulated once Rashid went down. Um, hopefully you get my guy Kareem Hunt back. I fucking love that guy. I want to win one for that guy so bad. You know, I, I just know that, uh, guys like Pat Mahomes and, um, guys that we have on the defensive side like Chris Jones and, and George Karloftis and, and Trent McDuffie, they all know how to have fun doing it while being professional. And that's such a unique situation to have when you can get both done, be successful, but do it in such a fun way that it makes it more enjoyable than you could

• 14:33Travis Kelce?

possibly imagine, man. That's such a unique atmosphere and a unique like building to be in. And I just, uh, I know that and, uh, cause I've been on teams where it hasn't been that. And it's just, I wanna, I wanna keep enjoying those moments and keep building, uh, what we have in Kansas City with those guys.

• 14:51Speaker 04

Did you talk to Andy? Anybody? Like, is there anything else you want to talk about in terms of deciding to play again? Like? What do you guys think you need to do to get back to the mountaintop next year?

• 15:02Travis Kelce?

I mean, we gotta, we gotta get, we have to, we gotta get some pieces. I think 100% this offseason, we're stuck kinda trying to juggle some contract negotiations and losing some key pieces and I mean, that hurts, you know? We got a lot of guys that we rely on big time. We've relied on big time in the past that have helped us win Super Bowls that are in contract negotiations and it's just like.

• 15:27Speaker 04

  Trey Smith just got franchised?

• 15:29Travis Kelce?

Yeah, and you know, I know they're working on a long-term deal to try and keep Trey.

• 15:33Speaker 04

A lot of times they just do that.

• 15:35Travis Kelce?

  He's unbelievable.

• 15:35Speaker 04

To prevent him going to free agency so they can still keep negotiating.

• 15:38Travis Kelce?

Exactly, and I'm hoping that they can sign something that, you know, Trey appreciates and that the Chiefs can, you know, still go out and get other pieces knowing that we need more, more guys like Trey Smith, you know, guys that are dedicated to their craft.

• 15:52Speaker 04

He's one of my favorite guys to watch play.

• 15:54Travis Kelce?

Exactly. He's one of my favorite guys to play with.

• 15:56Speaker 04

The mentality that he takes to the field.

• 15:59Travis Kelce?

Oh, yeah. I know I've always trusted Brett Veach and the front office and the coaches to, to bring in the right guys, not, and not only just the, the guys that, you know, have the skill set and the athleticism and the, and the competitive edge, but do it in a fun way like we've brought in guys before, you know, like the, that can add to the chemistry of, of, of how, you know, the weeks go, the routines go, and try not to make it like, like we're coming into work, like we're, we're excited about what we're doing and we're excited about the challenges ahead.

• 16:32Speaker 04

Yeah, I'm sure, I mean, they know how to build it. They know what they're doing. And you guys had, I mean, come on now, you guys, blocking kicks to end games, the chemistry was there.

• 16:40Travis Kelce?

Yeah, so Kansas City, baby, we're back at it for at least one more year. I can't say whether or not this is going to be the last year because I still love a lot of, of what I do for the city of Kansas City and, and the Chiefs organization, so. I know I got one on my contract and I'm gonna give you guys everything I got, baby. That does it for new news brought to you by American Express.

Like, bring the kids, bring mom and dad, shoot, bring the whole crew. Everybody's got a spot, that's what makes it special.

• 18:20Speaker 04

And the entertainment, Latin music, ice skating, full on Broadway shows. It's pretty amazing, pretty much everything you want in one place. Oh, and did I mention there's a water park?

• 18:29Travis Kelce?

You didn't, and that's, that'd be the kicker for me.

• 18:32Speaker 04

  I love a water park.

• 18:33Travis Kelce?

But the crazy one, Crown's Edge, a ropes course off the side of the ship. Not for the faint of heart, brother.

• 18:41Speaker 04

They've also got Playmaker Sports Bar and Arcade, so that means games on every screen. I love a good arcade sports place combination.

• 18:51Travis Kelce?

On offense, it's important to prevent problems from the moment the ball is snapped.

• 19:10Travis Kelce?

That's true. Otherwise, you're just out there running cardio. Can't get open for a big play.

• 19:16Speaker 04

But it's not just football. There's a lot of things you need to prevent before they start.

• 19:21Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, like in your mouth.

• 19:23Speaker 04

  My mouth specifically?

• 19:24Travis Kelce?

I mean, probably yours too, but I'm talking everybody's mouth. There's bacteria in there that can lead to oral health problems like cavities, gingivitis.

• 19:36Speaker 04

Right. Yeah. All the nasty stuff. But the good news is you can prevent these problems before they start with Colgate Total Active Prevention. It's like having a good offensive line for your mouth.

• 19:47Travis Kelce?

Ooh, exactly. With twice daily brushing, Colgate Total prevents oral health problems like cavities and gingivitis.

• 19:54Speaker 04

And it's not just one contributing player either. It's a whole system. Toothpaste, mouthwash, and a special toothbrush.

Let's move on to some bold topics. NFL Combine, that's right. The annual combine held in Indianapolis wrapped up this weekend. Did you watch it at all?

• 20:27Travis Kelce?

  No.

• 20:27Speaker 04

Yeah, I didn't. I'm not gonna lie. I usually like to watch it, especially the O-line guys. I watched highlights and watched it through Twitter.

• 20:35Travis Kelce?

I saw a little bit of the tight end workout. That's about it though.

• 20:38Speaker 04

Who's, there was a nice one-handed grab. Who's the tight end that had the, like caught one, I think it was a tight end. I'm judging by his stature and complexion. He caught a ball with one hand and then he ended up having two balls in his hand at one point.

• 20:52Travis Kelce?

That might've been a clip from a different year, Jason.

• 20:54Speaker 04

  Okay. So anyways.

• 20:56Travis Kelce?

I was, I'm not gonna lie. I was so surprised by this tight end group's 40-yard dash.

• 21:03Speaker 04

It is fun looking up the times.

• 21:04Travis Kelce?

  I, they didn't have anybody under a 4.6 and typically, I mean, you'll usually find a.

• 21:11Speaker 04

A lot of blocking tight ends.

• 21:12Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, I mean.

• 21:14Speaker 04

The game's moving to more ground and pound.

• 21:17Travis Kelce?

It is, it is, especially with this fucking running back class they got.

• 21:21Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 21:21Travis Kelce?

  Everybody was a four three.

• 21:22Speaker 04

  They were running.

• 21:23Travis Kelce?

  They were moving.

• 21:23Speaker 04

  Running backs weren't going slow.

• 21:24Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 21:25Speaker 04

  Neither were the DBs.

• 21:26Travis Kelce?

Yeah, I think there were a few top tight ends that didn't uh like to run, but.

• 21:31Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 21:31Travis Kelce?

Yeah, either way, there's still some some studs out there. You know, the Penn State kid's good. Uh, Jason Taylor's son, Mason Taylor, LSU kid, he's good.

• 21:40Speaker 04

  Nice, nice.

• 21:41Travis Kelce?

Um, the Loveland kid up in Michigan, there's, there's, there's still some talent out there.

• 21:44Speaker 04

  Awesome.

• 21:45Travis Kelce?

In the tight end world, but um, yeah, I was definitely, it was kind of like, oh, eye opening. There was no four or five guys. Typically, you get at least one four, four guy in there that they, they like the label of H-back.

• 21:56Speaker 04

  Yeah, meaning he's shorter.

• 21:58Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 21:58Speaker 04

Yeah. Short, kind of quicker. What are you looking at in these guys, either on tape in college or in uh, at the combine? That is like, oh, there's some talent in the guys.

• 22:09Travis Kelce?

I think over the course of the, you know, over the course of the year, watching uh, the Penn State team in the playoffs. Watching the Michigan team over the last like two, three years, Loveland's been pretty solid. He, he shows up for him.

• 22:22Speaker 04

But what makes, what about like, is there something where you're watching?

• 22:25Travis Kelce?

When there's a play to be made, they make it, yeah.

• 22:27Speaker 04

When, is there something when you're watching, where it's like, he does one thing where you're like, oh, okay, yeah, that guy's got it.

• 22:32Travis Kelce?

Yeah, make the big catch. Their catch radius is always a huge.

• 22:36Speaker 04

  How they catch it?

• 22:37Travis Kelce?

Yeah, like when it hits their hands, it sticks.

• 22:40Speaker 04

Yeah, is it like fighting the ball?

• 22:42Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, I think.

• 22:43Speaker 04

Does it like bounce off of their hands?

• 22:44Travis Kelce?

When the, when, when you get a guy with the ball in his hands and he feels confident with what he's doing, like the kid from Penn State, I don't, I forget his name, somebody can look it up for me.

• 22:52Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 22:53Travis Kelce?

Tyler Warren, when he catches the ball for Rock's 44, you know what he's doing when he catches the ball. He's running right through.

• 23:00Speaker 04

Yeah, he's not, he's not, there's no juke in him.

• 23:02Travis Kelce?

You know what I mean? But he has a little bit of, you know what I mean?

• 23:05Speaker 04

  Oh, he does.

• 23:05Travis Kelce?

Yeah, he's got a little bit of it. He's got at least, he's making a, he's making a defender make a decision, you know? And he's uh, he's playing off of him or he's like being the aggressor.

• 23:14Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:14Travis Kelce?

Like a guy like Gronk does. And it's just like, you see a guy or a guy like George Kittle, where you see a guy, when he catches the ball, he knows he's getting north.

• 23:21Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:21Travis Kelce?

And he's either running through whoever's in the way, or he's finding a way to make a miss.

• 23:25Speaker 04

  Sure.

• 23:26Travis Kelce?

And um, that usually gets me fired up. Mason is just the, the Mason Taylor kid, uh, Jason Taylor's, I believe it's his son.

• 23:32Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:33Travis Kelce?

Just a fluent athlete and he's not even 21.

• 23:35Speaker 04

  Jason Taylor's son?

• 23:36Travis Kelce?

Yeah, yeah, I know. He's not even 21 yet.

• 23:39Speaker 04

  He's not?

• 23:39Travis Kelce?

No. So I'm like, this guy had a good amount of success at LSU, played in the SCC. And then on top of that, fluent athlete, he's only going to get better as he gets older. He's only going to develop more strength and more athleticism as he get older.

• 23:54Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:55Travis Kelce?

Um, so yeah, what do you got for centers? What tells you?

• 23:58Speaker 04

Just offensive line in general, I feel like.

• 24:00Travis Kelce?

Well, he gets this, he gets the ball to the quarterback.

• 24:02Speaker 04

That's the least thing I'm worried about. We can fix that. Trust me. Been there. Fix those snap issues. Least of my concerns. No, I like just watching the way guys move, how they use their hands. Like, I just feel like you watch guys play and you can tell if you've watched enough guys play and enough teammates, who has good core strength, who moves their feet well, who is always in balance? Like balance is a big one for me, offensive lineman. When I see guys that are out of balance, I'm like, okay, he's going to get torched.

• 24:37Travis Kelce?

Yeah, backer's going to get up under that guy.

• 24:38Speaker 04

He's going to get off balance and then it's going to get like judo thrown or like, it's like, I think, and I've been, hey, been there too.

• 24:44Travis Kelce?

  Right.

• 24:44Speaker 04

Um, I just like watching the way guys move. And that's why I do actually think watching the combine. I kind of always like watching, even though I didn't do it this year. Um, because I do think that there is stuff to gain by watching how guys move. I really do. I think that, you know, Jason Peters just retired, right?

• 25:03Travis Kelce?

  21 years, baby.

• 25:04Speaker 04

Dude, and now he's working for the Seahawks. Come home, Jason. Come home to Philadelphia.

• 25:09Travis Kelce?

Well, you gotta get Jeff and.

• 25:11Speaker 04

He's doing fine. Stay in Seattle. You're doing all right. Wherever, wherever you're happy, JP. But he was never out of bounds. I would watch that guy play. He would jump and he was just always anatomically in the right position to redirect. On top of being enormous and a freak athlete, but there's just sometimes you watch guys and they're like always on their in steps or their feet are in a certain way or they're bending properly. They utilize their hands a certain way. And it makes you just like, oh yeah, I like what I see out of that. And then you'll watch other guys and even if they're like higher rated guys, it's like, mm. Like I like this about him, but like his feet aren't necessarily the fastest or like, you know, he's super quick, but he just gets engulfed sometimes of power because it doesn't look like he has good core strength.

• 25:53Travis Kelce?

  Hmm.

• 25:53Speaker 04

So I'll, I'll, I love watching all that stuff either on tape or even at something like a combine. Like if I just watch a guy change direction quickly and they have good size and um, strength, usually they can translate to be good offensive lineman.

• 26:10Travis Kelce?

  You hear that, boys? Balance.

• 26:13Speaker 04

  Balance.

• 26:14Travis Kelce?

  You have to be balanced.

• 26:15Speaker 04

Balance and body control. It's Jeff Stoutland favorite right there.

• 26:17Travis Kelce?

Right now. He's got some big old boys that can balance themselves.

• 26:22Speaker 04

It helps when you're 6'9", 375 pounds, Jordan Malata. He's like, man, can you believe he taught that rugby guy how to play football? Oh yeah, well, he was 6'9" and a freak athlete, but he's also 375 pounds with, you know, 18% body fat. So, yeah, I can believe he's good at football. Uh, but still, shout out to Jeff Stoutland.

• 26:43Travis Kelce?

  Yeah. And Jordan.

• 26:45Speaker 04

Yeah, and Jordan, and definitely shout out to Jordan. See, I actually love watching guys run their 40. I think you can watch a lot about a way a guy runs and be like, that guy's not athletic. I really do think sometimes just watching a guy run a 40, I'm like, yeah, not interested.

• 26:57Travis Kelce?

  DK McCaffrey.

• 26:58Speaker 04

No question. That is one, that is one that blows my theory out the water. That guy looked like he was fighting the turf every step of the way.

• 27:07Travis Kelce?

  Moving.

• 27:07Speaker 04

  Angry at that fucking ground.

• 27:09Travis Kelce?

  Moving.

• 27:09Speaker 04

And it's like, okay, he's still panned out.

• 27:11Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 27:12Speaker 04

But you'll watch some of these guys run and you're like, man, I don't like, I don't like the way it looks. And nine times out of 10, it's right, though. Like when a guy's hunched over running, it's like, dude.

• 27:22Travis Kelce?

I'm hunched over when I run.

• 27:24Speaker 04

No, not when you're, not when you're cruising.

• 27:26Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 27:27Speaker 04

  No.

• 27:28Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 27:28Speaker 04

  Not hunched over like that.

• 27:29Travis Kelce?

Phase three, I'm staying in control right here, balance.

• 27:32Speaker 04

Yeah, no, no, it's definitely. I don't want to say names. So, uh, we did have an idea here from our production team, events they should add at the combine. What do you think? Anything, first of all, anything serious that you think would actually be good to add?

• 27:52Travis Kelce?

Dude, I immediately went to like, could they like chew gum and like jump rope? Like, I don't know.

• 27:57Speaker 04

  Do two things at once?

• 27:58Travis Kelce?

  Do things at once, yeah.

• 27:59Speaker 04

  A little rub your.

• 28:00Travis Kelce?

  Can you juggle and walk?

• 28:01Speaker 04

Or pat your head and rub your tummy or whatever it is?

• 28:03Travis Kelce?

Yeah, no, I mean, that was a decent try.

• 28:05Speaker 04

  I mean, I could do it, I just didn't.

• 28:09Speaker 04

I do think innocuous things. I do like giving a guy a kid like for a while I was like, we should be having these top 30 guys come in, play pickleball. And I can just tell whether they want or competitive.

• 28:21Travis Kelce?

You want everybody to pop an Achilles and fucking.

• 28:25Speaker 04

Well, that's a good point. That's why they don't do it. But you can tell like about like competitiveness. I mean, Nick Sirianni very famously played a little Rochambeau.

• 28:34Travis Kelce?

  Oh.

• 28:36Speaker 04

It's not bad. I think there's better things to figure out.

• 28:40Travis Kelce?

Does he have any data on that? Like do like if a guy goes rock immediately, is he not, he doesn't think very fast?

• 28:46Speaker 04

Yeah, it's like stupid. Didn't even move his hand. This guy's not into it.

• 28:51Travis Kelce?

  Let's go, dude.

• 28:52Speaker 04

God damn it, you're about to fucking throw a rock. I know you are. Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.

• 28:59Speaker 04

I like these monkeys. You're throwing a rock now. You're gonna throw a rock, paper, scissors, shoot.

• 29:05Speaker 04

I can't get him. I can't get him. I can't get him. Fuck. I do like little stupid things like that and seeing how they think about things or.

• 29:12Travis Kelce?

I was, I was thinking in my head, I'm like.

• 29:14Speaker 04

There's a story that we're gonna talk about in a second.

• 29:16Travis Kelce?

Like, we don't need, we don't need the IQ test. I just want to know what you're searching on your phone. That tells me everything. Show me yours. Show me your web searches.

• 29:27Speaker 04

Yeah, you would learn a lot about a guy.

• 29:29Travis Kelce?

Yeah, show me your search history.

• 29:31Speaker 04

I'm not giving that up to anybody.

• 29:36Travis Kelce?

That tells me everything I need to know.

• 29:39Speaker 04

This guy's watched over a thousand hoof cleaning videos on Instagram.

• 29:47Speaker 04

I don't know if this is good or bad. He's dedicated.

• 29:54Travis Kelce?

He's into farming. He cares about the animals.

• 29:59Speaker 04

Seems a little bit too simple to me. I mean, how many times are you gonna watch a guy scrape a hoof off and stuff it with powder and pack it and wrap it and then?

• 30:08Travis Kelce?

  Every single time.

• 30:09Speaker 04

Yeah. I don't think I've passed it up once on my algorithm. Alrighty. Some suggestions from the production team. How many Uncrustables can a kid eat?

• 30:18Travis Kelce?

  Um.

• 30:19Speaker 04

What would you gain from that? One, whether they like Uncrustables.

• 30:24Travis Kelce?

  Do they have diabetes?

• 30:25Speaker 04

If they don't like Uncrustables, I don't know that it affects their ability to play football, but it does affect their ability to be like a uh, trustable human being if they don't like them.

• 30:34Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 30:34Speaker 04

I don't trust somebody that doesn't like an Uncrustable.

• 30:36Travis Kelce?

Yeah. Once they get stale, man, they can get tough.

• 30:39Speaker 04

  Well, yeah.

• 30:40Travis Kelce?

Has to be a fresh boy.

• 30:41Speaker 04

Obviously, yes. We're talking peak Uncrustable.

• 30:43Travis Kelce?

Hmm. Something about that white bread that they use.

• 30:47Speaker 04

Alright. There's your free advertising Uncrustable. Timing for how fast, uh, you can delete tweets?

• 30:53Travis Kelce?

  I mean.

• 30:54Speaker 04

I think they're supposed to be funny. Uh, how long?

• 30:57Travis Kelce?

No, take it down, take it down.

• 30:59Speaker 04

How long can you speak? How long can you speak without actually saying anything? I think we would win that. We'd do well on that.

• 31:06Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 31:07Speaker 04

  Nothing. Uh, iPhone screen time?

• 31:10Travis Kelce?

That's what made me think of what your search history is.

• 31:13Speaker 04

  Yep. Uh.

• 31:16Travis Kelce?

I don't necessarily need to know how long you're on the phone. I wanna know. I don't wanna know how long you're on the phone. I wanna know what you're on the phone for.

• 31:24Speaker 04

Yeah, Simon Says is interesting. Simon Says, what would you gain from Simon Says? It's just, I mean, it's just a pure power move. Right? I like doing this weird, like Simon Says, a kid says, like, what are your, what are your, your play along, okay? And then if you're bad at it, it's like.

• 31:39Travis Kelce?

Simon Says is kinda, yeah, you gotta lock in.

• 31:41Speaker 04

  Can't listen.

• 31:41Travis Kelce?

  You gotta lock in.

• 31:42Speaker 04

This guy's not a good listener.

• 31:43Travis Kelce?

Have you ever, like, watched, like, the Simon Says championship? Like?

• 31:47Speaker 04

  I've not. Is it good?

• 31:49Travis Kelce?

  It goes real fast.

• 31:50Speaker 04

Yeah? Is it like an auctioneer?

• 31:53Travis Kelce?

  Yes. It is quick.

• 31:55Speaker 04

Put your hand on your head, put your hand on your belly, put your hand on your head, Simon Says, put your, like.

• 31:58Travis Kelce?

  Exactly like that.

• 32:00Speaker 04

  That'd be, that'd be electric.

• 32:01Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 32:02Speaker 04

We gotta get a clip of that. I wanna see what that seems like.

• 32:05Travis Kelce?

Red light, green light? Do we just do all little kid games?

• 32:08Speaker 04

Simon Says, put your hand on your belly. I ain't play this fucking stupid game. I like that guy.

• 32:11Travis Kelce?

  Give me that guy.

• 32:16Speaker 04

  That's the right answer.

• 32:19Speaker 04

Podcasting? How fast you deliver an ad read or asking someone? I mean, listen, if I'm being honest, if a kid's trying to podcast, I'm not signing him.

• 32:30Travis Kelce?

  I don't.

• 32:32Travis Kelce?

I couldn't even imagine doing this outside of

• 32:35Speaker 04

  I do think

• 32:36Travis Kelce?

  my first like after my

• 32:38Speaker 04

well that's where I am kind of being serious. I do think that rookies like you should if I had a podcast

• 32:43Travis Kelce?

Keep the main thing, the main thing.

• 32:45Speaker 04

  real bad.

• 32:46Travis Kelce?

  Well, your Twitter

• 32:47Speaker 04

Not only would the content be bad, it'd been bad for me.

• 32:51Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 32:51Speaker 04

Yeah. I don't know that I would have made it.

• 32:53Travis Kelce?

  No.

• 32:54Speaker 04

I'd have been a professional podcaster way earlier.

• 32:55Travis Kelce?

  Way, yeah.

• 32:58Speaker 04

How good they are at trash talking. I actually really do like that one.

• 33:01Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 33:02Speaker 04

Find out what a guy says. You can learn a lot about it. The way a guy trash talks.

• 33:05Travis Kelce?

There's some guys are just stone cold, man. They don't fucking give you anything.

• 33:08Speaker 04

  I know. I respect that. That's what I'm saying. That's the type.

• 33:10Travis Kelce?

And that's the version of trash talking.

• 33:12Speaker 04

  Stoic motherfuckers.

• 33:13Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 33:14Speaker 04

Men of little words. All right. All right. We didn't gain anything from doing that. So we're going to move on. Three, uh, big combine stories.

• 33:20Travis Kelce?

  Ooh, what we got?

• 33:22Speaker 04

Colorado defense back and wide receiver Travis Hunter says he wants to play both ways officially. That's right. Travis said, uh, they say nobody has ever done it the way I do it, uh, but I tell them I'm just different. I'm a different person. I want to play 100% on both sides of the ball, but it's up to the organization. He actually didn't say, but it's on both sides of the ball. We put that in parentheses to, it was inferred. What do you think about that? Is this possible?

• 33:46Travis Kelce?

It's 100% possible. I mean, he's gonna have to, you know, prove that he can do it. Nobody has ever played every single play on both sides. When Deion, when Deion did it, he would be like a third. He was in like nickel. He's in like certain packages, I believe. I could be wrong about that. I'm just gonna

• 34:02Speaker 04

You think he's talking about 100% play?

• 34:05Travis Kelce?

  Corner.

• 34:06Speaker 04

  Every single down.

• 34:07Travis Kelce?

And wide receiver. That's what he's thinking. Yes. That's what he did at Colorado.

• 34:11Speaker 04

Well, I'm aware he did it at Colorado.

• 34:12Travis Kelce?

That's what I'm saying. In the NFL, he'll have to guess, they'll have to scheme up around him getting too exhausted.

• 34:21Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 34:22Travis Kelce?

Like they'd really have to weigh that into their play calling, both offensively and defensively. Like defense, you can't just go man and expect Travis to just run it all around the field with a guy like Tyree Hill.

• 34:35Speaker 04

After he just scored a 98 yard touchdown.

• 34:37Travis Kelce?

Yeah. As an offensive coordinator, I'm sending him on a go every play. And eventually like if you're playing offense and defense like

• 34:42Speaker 04

  Yeah, we're tiring.

• 34:43Travis Kelce?

The wheels, yeah, where the wheels are gonna get at least a little worn out.

• 34:47Speaker 04

Yeah, that's a great point. I haven't thought about that scheming the other team.

• 34:51Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 34:51Speaker 04

It's like, all right, want to run play, run them off every time.

• 34:54Travis Kelce?

Yeah, exactly. Like getting the new guy in there. And so you'd have to scheme him to be able to play cover two. And I just think, I think he's a better player when he's in man on, on defense. I think he's.

• 35:05Speaker 04

You think he's a better man corner than a better zone corner?

• 35:07Travis Kelce?

I just, no, he plays great off of like in his zones. He can, he can float around. He's seen, yeah, he has a great feel of seeing routes. He's good at seeing concepts and jumping certain routes and things like that. So he plays well off, I would say, I say off the ball, but he plays well in zone coverages. Um, but I think man coverage entices QBs to throw it at him more.

• 35:28Speaker 04

  Gotcha.

• 35:29Travis Kelce?

Right? I just think when you get man to man covers in the NFL, you're, you think, oh, if I got a good guy out there, I'm taking my matchup.

• 35:36Speaker 04

  Sure.

• 35:36Travis Kelce?

Right? I just think that, that mentality, it can wear a guy out. And I'm not saying that he can't do it because I was blown away by what he could do in college in terms of like playing every single down.

• 35:48Speaker 04

I'm blown away at his smile.

• 35:49Travis Kelce?

I think, I think it's smarter, I think it's smarter to find him, uh, if you're do, if, if he is going to do that. I think it's smarter to, to scheme it up to where you know, you're not putting him in vulnerable position to get tired out faster.

• 36:02Speaker 04

Got it. All right. Well, somebody who does think he can do it is Deion Sanders. Deion Sanders was quoted saying, he's gonna do it or they shouldn't draft him. Sanders told reporters, I'm gonna make sure of it. Uh, don't, uh, don't draft him if you're not going to give him the opportunity to play on both sides of the ball.

• 36:18Travis Kelce?

I think he's proven that he needs to play on both sides of the ball.

• 36:21Speaker 04

  I think it's gonna be really, I mean, yeah, I guess we'll find out. I don't know.

• 36:24Travis Kelce?

I think it's easier for him to be on the field all the time as a defensive player. And then offensively coming in on certain plays.

• 36:31Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 36:32Travis Kelce?

I think that is so much easier. Like, why have him?

• 36:35Speaker 04

Well, Deion did it the other way. Branch did it the other way. He did it where he was on the field all the time as an offensive player.

• 36:41Travis Kelce?

  And then.

• 36:41Speaker 04

And then did packages on defense.

• 36:42Travis Kelce?

Yes. I think he could be more influential. What's the point in certain rundowns where you know it's run to have him on the field? Going in there scooping out a safety like, could he do it? Yeah. Could I get another guy to do that? Probably.

• 36:55Speaker 04

Yeah, but there also, that's also going to be your heavy play action. Take a shot down the field and maybe you want him out there for that.

• 37:01Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, well, good luck Travis.

• 37:03Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 37:04Travis Kelce?

I'm a big fan, brother. Want to come to KC, play both sides?

• 37:07Speaker 04

Hey, there we go. That's how you get him there. We're going to pay you way less, but you can play both sides of the ball.

• 37:12Travis Kelce?

We have like the 40th pick. We'll probably not even sniff him.

• 37:15Speaker 04

Yeah. Travis did say, Travis Hunter, that is, did say that playing both ways is harder than what Shohei Ohtani does. Bold statement.

• 37:24Travis Kelce?

Very bold statement. There's no way we could possibly fucking.

• 37:28Speaker 04

Well, we know that physically playing both ways in football is much harder. Yeah, we know that. We do know that hitting a baseball is probably the hardest thing in professional sports. I don't know what's more impressive. I mean, first of all, I guess Shohei is more impressive because he's actually doing it.

• 37:43Travis Kelce?

He's not only actually doing it, but he's, he's proven that.

• 37:48Speaker 04

In the land of make believe on one end, the other guy's actually happening, so.

• 37:52Travis Kelce?

He's also proven that he can be literally the best at both.

• 37:56Speaker 04

  Sure.

• 37:57Travis Kelce?

Like, he was one of the top pitchers in the league when.

• 38:00Speaker 04

It's remarkable when you, when you really do think about it.

• 38:03Travis Kelce?

On top of that, he was hitting home runs and stealing bases every year of his career.

• 38:07Speaker 04

Yeah, I mean, listen, playing both ways would be remarkable.

• 38:10Travis Kelce?

  Good luck Travis.

• 38:10Speaker 04

I can't wait to watch it happen if it does. I mean, it would be electric. I can't wait to watch and see if it does happen.

• 38:17Travis Kelce?

It'll definitely have. He's too good on both sides of the ball. He's proven it. He's already proven. That's, that's the beauty of playing.

• 38:22Speaker 04

Do you think he's better on offense or defense?

• 38:24Travis Kelce?

I haven't seen enough of it.

• 38:26Speaker 04

What kind of receiver is he? Is he an outside receiver? Is he a guy that can play in the slot?

• 38:30Travis Kelce?

Fucking all around athlete, dude. You can put him anywhere on the football field. You can give him the, the reverses. You can do anything with him on the football field.

• 38:38Speaker 04

He didn't run, right? So we don't have the time from the combine.

• 38:40Travis Kelce?

No, but when you watch him run, you're like, yeah.

• 38:43Speaker 04

Yeah, he's got it. You can tell. It's one of those runs like, yeah, I don't need a stopwatch on that.

• 38:47Travis Kelce?

We should probably throw him the ball.

• 38:50Travis Kelce?

Some of those guys where you don't even need a time. You're like.

• 38:52Speaker 04

  What's his 40? Don't know.

• 38:54Travis Kelce?

  Yep.

• 38:55Speaker 04

But I know it's good enough.

• 38:56Travis Kelce?

Yeah, I've seen him run. I've seen him run. Like when you watch Jerry Rice run.

• 39:01Speaker 04

  He was a 47 guy.

• 39:03Travis Kelce?

  There's no way. I am.

• 39:05Speaker 04

  A thousand percent.

• 39:06Travis Kelce?

I am so, I find it so hard to believe that he's outrunning DBs in the NFL.

• 39:13Speaker 04

Just shake, you give Jerry Restus 40 times.

• 39:15Travis Kelce?

  Dude, I've looked it up. It's anywhere between a 4.4 and 4.7.

• 39:18Speaker 04

  I've heard 4.7. I don't know who's telling me, but I've heard 4.71 at the combine.

• 39:25Travis Kelce?

  What combine?

• 39:26Speaker 04

  The NFL combine.

• 39:29Travis Kelce?

He was like a D4 player.

• 39:31Speaker 04

They weren't running at the combine back then either.

• 39:33Travis Kelce?

  Your D3 player.

• 39:34Speaker 04

I don't think they were running, running at the combine when Jerry was coming out either. It was only medical.

• 39:38Speaker 02

  He ran a 4.6.

• 39:39Speaker 04

  Bill Walsh said that?

• 39:40Travis Kelce?

Who the fuck is Bill Walsh?

• 39:42Speaker 04

  Shut the fuck up.

• 39:46Speaker 04

So Bill's probably giving him a friendly time there too.

• 39:53Travis Kelce?

Or he's saying a ridiculously slow time to show that, just how great he was as a football player.

• 39:58Speaker 04

There's only one way to solve this. We need to ask Jerry himself.

• 40:01Travis Kelce?

Jerry, the goat, can you please tell these jamokes you were not a fucking 4.7 in the 40, dog?

• 40:07Speaker 04

I mean, what if he was? He's still the best receiver. What does it matter?

• 40:09Travis Kelce?

I know what 4.7 looks like, Jason.

• 40:12Speaker 04

He just was a notorious slow starter. Maybe he just was a strider.

• 40:14Travis Kelce?

Dude, there's no way. This dude was quick off the ball and he had a fucking great stride.

• 40:22Speaker 04

He wasn't a burner. He was a freaking route runner.

• 40:24Travis Kelce?

Why was he always behind the defense?

• 40:25Speaker 04

Because they were terrified of the comeback and all the other stuff. He was running underneath and he would, and then go right past them.

• 40:31Travis Kelce?

  True.

• 40:32Speaker 04

He's a great route runner. He sold it all.

• 40:34Travis Kelce?

I concur. Yeah, well, you're not a great route runner unless they're terrified of you going deep. And you have to have speed to do that.

• 40:42Speaker 04

I'm just saying, sometimes you're smooth and it all looks the same.

• 40:45Travis Kelce?

  Dominic Goodman.

• 40:46Speaker 04

Dude, didn't play out in the NFL, but very good college.

• 40:49Travis Kelce?

Shout out to Cole Raines Cincinnati.

• 40:51Speaker 04

Last bit of combine news. Sources have told Pat McAfee Show, shout out to Pat McAfee, that Saquon Barkley has signed a massive two-year extension with the Philadelphia Eagles.

• 41:00Travis Kelce?

  Nice.

• 41:01Speaker 04

20.6 average per year. That's million in case you were wondering.

• 41:07Speaker 04

I mean, deserves every penny of that.

• 41:09Travis Kelce?

  Yep.

• 41:10Speaker 04

  36 million guaranteed at signing.

• 41:12Travis Kelce?

  Damn.

• 41:13Speaker 04

  15 million available in incentives.

• 41:16Travis Kelce?

  Ew.

• 41:17Speaker 04

I wonder what those incentives are. That's a lot of money in incentives.

• 41:19Travis Kelce?

I don't like that one bit.

• 41:22Speaker 04

You mean, I actually have to play and earn it?

• 41:24Travis Kelce?

Does he have to get a 2,000 yard season every year?

• 41:27Speaker 04

  I'm betting that.

• 41:28Travis Kelce?

  Fuck.

• 41:29Speaker 04

So, yeah, I'm betting that a lot of these are max values with like, the way I used to be structured with how I'd be like, there'd be playoff incentives, Super Bowl incentives, Pro Bowls, All Pros. And then with running backs, usually you add in yards.

• 41:42Travis Kelce?

So you have to like, rely on someone's vote to get your incentive?

• 41:47Speaker 04

That's for offensive linemen. It's typically how it happens. It's pretty shitty.

• 41:50Travis Kelce?

  Damn.

• 41:51Speaker 04

  Yeah, I know.

• 41:51Travis Kelce?

  Fucked up.

• 41:52Speaker 04

I mean, I always hit mine, so it always worked out.

• 41:55Travis Kelce?

It's because you podcast. Always podcast.

• 41:57Speaker 04

That's right. That's why you should definitely start podcasting as a rookie. Yeah, I'm betting that a lot of these are just like, kind of guaranteed ways of the Eagles to be like, hey, we want to pay you this money, but we need, you know, if, if injuries happen or something happens.

• 42:10Travis Kelce?

  We're not paying it.

• 42:11Speaker 04

The max value. But he's still getting broke off. I mean, 36 million guaranteed at signing is.

• 42:17Travis Kelce?

  I mean, that's damn good.

• 42:18Speaker 04

That's unbelievable money for a running back in today's NFL. And he deserved every penny. I mean, he proved how valuable, not just how good he is as a running back, but like his big play, strike ability.

• 42:27Travis Kelce?

Bro, you could tell he was one of the leaders on that team.

• 42:29Speaker 04

Oh, that too. I mean, just a great freaking dude. And it probably frees up a bunch more space to sign other guys. This is typical Howie Roseman chess when everybody else's playing checkers.

• 42:40Speaker 04

  All right.

• 42:41Travis Kelce?

  Great delivery. I got nothing.

• 42:42Speaker 04

Another off-season, uh, news, sticking with the Eagles, everyone debating the tush push. Green Bay Packers GM Brian, Brian has submitted a rule.

• 42:56Speaker 04

GM Brian has submitted a rule proposal to ban the tush push quarterback sneak. I mean, listen, I get it. I would want to ban it too if we sucked at it and it wasn't a mechanical advantage. I, the only issue I have that I take up with people is saying, people are saying it's not a football play, it's rugby. I don't know what's more of a football play. I really don't. What represents football? Physicality, toughness, will. We're gonna fight for half, for half a yard. You know what's coming. We know what's coming. We're just gonna bulldoze against each other like. Machine, machines made of meat. Like, I don't know what we're, it's like completely about football. Like, this isn't, I think to some people, football is like, oh, look at this pretty class concept design. It's like, that's not fucking football.

• 43:39Travis Kelce?

  I just don't understand.

• 43:39Speaker 04

That's a different side that is, this is what football has become. This is about pure physicality and advantage for the offensive lineman because we know the snap count when it's coming and where we're going.

• 43:51Travis Kelce?

Don't get me wrong, Jason's having fun with it, but I just don't understand what the proposal, like, why?

• 43:57Speaker 04

I think, I think, one, people want to ban it. People want to ban it because, one, there's, some people have like a safety concern on the play. They think that it's more dangerous. In my experience, it is not a play that has much of an increased chance of injury on it. Do guys get hurt on it sometimes? Yes, but so does every other play that you run in the NFL. Typically, it's more of a grueling play. The plays where you get hurt are usually like these high-impact collisions or somebody gets landed up on wrong or twisted, and that just doesn't happen that much on that play because everybody's just nose-diving forward to try and get as low as possible and push for a yard. Does it suck? Yeah. Is it a fun play to run? No. I mean, except when you get the first down or touchdown.

• 44:40Speaker 04

But is there an increased chance of injury? I just haven't seen that in my experience with the play. Is there an increased chance of you being fatigued and like hating your life? Yeah. But it's worth it for a yard. And then the other thing is, I think people just think it's an unfair play for the offense, that they can push. My argument to that is, you guys can push too. It's not like you're just pushing on the offensive side. Like, you guys can hunker down in there and push and, you know, mass, accumulate mass.

• 45:10Speaker 04

I don't know. It doesn't feel like teams across the league are as good as the Eagles are at it. So it feels weird to try and ban this play for an advantage that it seems like really just one team majorly has.

• 45:23Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 45:24Speaker 04

  In my opinion.

• 45:24Travis Kelce?

I mean, they're not trying to ban the quarterback sneak. They're just trying to ban the, the way you guys have perfected it.

• 45:31Speaker 04

Yeah. Like, do we ban, if it's an unfair advantage, like, do we ban Saquon Barkley from running with the football? Because that seems like an unfair advantage to me, you know what I mean?

• 45:40Travis Kelce?

And that does it for the news news, the news that we have, the last bit of news. And if any of you have any off season questions, please leave us a question in the comments.

• 45:51Speaker 04

Yeah, we'd love to answer them.

• 45:53Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, or not answer them.

• 45:55Speaker 04

Don't really have much else to talk about, so now's your chance.

• 45:58Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 45:58Speaker 04

We're gonna be answering a lot of questions.

• 46:00Travis Kelce?

Trying to make it big, put it on the comment.

• 46:01Speaker 04

Dumber the better. Yeah, that's about all I got.

• 46:05Speaker 05

They say everything happens for a reason, but I suspect everything happens for a Reese's. Like this commercial break. Did you need 15 seconds away from music? Or 15 seconds to eat a Reese's? Perhaps it's true. Everything happens for a Reese's.

• 46:20Travis Kelce?

All right, now the LA Food Court. That's right, we're gonna do a little taste test for you guys.

• 46:25Speaker 04

  Oh, give me these calories.

• 46:27Travis Kelce?

All right, LA Food Court is brought to you by Suave Men. Yeah, you got a little suave going right now.

• 46:35Speaker 04

You're the suave, take that hat off, you got the suave.

• 46:37Travis Kelce?

  I'm not doing that.

• 46:37Speaker 04

  All right.

• 46:38Travis Kelce?

  Maybe just a little.

• 46:39Speaker 04

Yeah, look at that, ooh, look at that hair.

• 46:43Speaker 04

  Gosh.

• 46:43Travis Kelce?

  Putting this thing back on.

• 46:45Speaker 04

Can't believe you haven't started balding.

• 46:47Travis Kelce?

  What? We're Kelsey's.

• 46:49Speaker 04

I'm balding, Travis, I'm getting thin up there.

• 46:51Travis Kelce?

Where? No, this is a widow's peak, not up top.

• 46:54Speaker 04

No, it's going thin right through.

• 46:56Travis Kelce?

That's why you do it to the side?

• 46:57Speaker 04

Yeah, I don't do anything, I just wake up, I don't do shit to my hair.

• 47:00Travis Kelce?

All right, here we go, we're doing a little food taste test for you guys. Uh, moving on to a little new Heist Food Court, we have a very special theme this week on the Food Court. We have, we'll be trying foods that we missed out on because, uh, we skipped Jack, that's Jake's wedding.

• 47:15Speaker 04

Jake, I can't wait to judge the food you had at your wedding.

• 47:18Speaker 06

  I know.

• 47:19Speaker 04

Do you know how fired up I would be to go to a wedding that's not, what, do you want chicken, steak, or fish?

• 47:23Speaker 06

  Yeah, you were invited.

• 47:25Speaker 04

I don't remember getting the invite.

• 47:27Speaker 06

  It's on your fridge currently.

• 47:28Speaker 04

Well, you, you know you're supposed to send that stuff to Emily.

• 47:31Speaker 06

  I did.

• 47:33Travis Kelce?

That's right. We uh, we decided not to attend.

• 47:36Speaker 04

It was in the fall, during football season.

• 47:37Travis Kelce?

Yeah, we still chose not to go.

• 47:40Speaker 04

  Okay, okay.

• 47:41Travis Kelce?

We were uh, we were busy, Jason. Sorry Jake.

• 47:45Speaker 04

  Alright.

• 47:46Travis Kelce?

So we're told these are all LA staples. We have Heavy Handed, which is a burger out here. A burger spot out here. We have La Sorte, which is a pizza spot out here. And we have Tacos 1986.

• 48:00Speaker 04

  1986?

• 48:01Travis Kelce?

Which I would assume means they've been open since 1986.

• 48:05Speaker 04

Yeah, what is that? That's not even like an impressive.

• 48:07Travis Kelce?

Yeah, like they just started making tacos?

• 48:09Speaker 04

In 86? Like that? I mean, I guess it's, actually it's close to 40 years now.

• 48:14Travis Kelce?

I mean, I can tell you right now, I'm not trying the tacos. You, that's all you, Jason.

• 48:17Speaker 04

You're not gonna even try it?

• 48:19Travis Kelce?

  No, I'm not trying those.

• 48:20Speaker 04

  Why?

• 48:21Travis Kelce?

I'm looking at them like I'm not trying those.

• 48:23Speaker 04

Travis, come on, it's Jake's wedding. We didn't go to the wedding, we at least gotta try the.

• 48:26Travis Kelce?

Food number one, Heavy Handed, burger and fries.

• 48:28Speaker 04

Alright, this feels weird eating a fry without ketchup. It is a smash burger, in case people are wondering, I can tell right away from looking at it.

• 48:36Travis Kelce?

This is probably the roughest way to ever do a food test.

• 48:39Speaker 04

It's like kind of unfair, it has been sitting around a little bit, so Heavy Handed, we apologize for these ratings we're about to give you.

• 48:46Speaker 04

I mean, cold fries, it's just so hard. I can't even rate this.

• 48:51Travis Kelce?

This is a go burger. This is a go burger. Out of all the cold fries you've had with you.

• 48:54Speaker 04

For a cold fry, absolute horseshit. I'm just gonna be honest. There are certain fries that hold up well with age and uh, this is not one of them.

• 49:04Travis Kelce?

  No.

• 49:04Speaker 04

Other fries that do not hold up well with age, McDonald's. McDonald's are great if you catch them right out of the fryer.

• 49:10Travis Kelce?

That's what they remind me of.

• 49:11Speaker 04

The moment they aren't hot, they're fucking terrible.

• 49:13Travis Kelce?

It's layered with onions. I'm not eating this.

• 49:18Travis Kelce?

Don't do a food, you can't have me test food that I'm not, I'm not gonna eat. Everyone knows my stand, my, my criteria.

• 49:24Speaker 04

I don't think everybody does know your criteria. I don't.

• 49:26Travis Kelce?

Everyone knows I don't eat onions.

• 49:27Speaker 04

I can tell you that I don't know, that everybody doesn't know, because I don't know what your criteria is. Other than white sauces and onions, those are the only two I know.

• 49:34Travis Kelce?

Well, there's onions on that one, so. How is it, Jason?

• 49:37Speaker 04

  It's absolutely delicious.

• 49:38Travis Kelce?

  Nice!

• 49:38Speaker 04

There is definitely a heavy McDonald's taste in this.

• 49:42Travis Kelce?

Ooh, little Mickey D's. Mickey D's was out here in the west coast, started out here. A lot of people don't know that.

• 49:47Speaker 04

It's a Big Mac style sauce.

• 49:48Travis Kelce?

Ooh, I'm, I'm, I'm in on the Big Mac.

• 49:51Speaker 04

  It's very good.

• 49:51Travis Kelce?

I'm in on a Big Mac minus onion.

• 49:53Speaker 04

  It's a very good burger.

• 49:54Travis Kelce?

  Nice.

• 49:55Speaker 04

If this was warm, it would be incredible. And I will say, I think this is better than Five Guys.

• 50:00Travis Kelce?

  No.

• 50:01Speaker 04

  I don't think it's even a question.

• 50:03Travis Kelce?

  That's better than Five Guys?

• 50:04Speaker 04

  I'm not a, oh wait.

• 50:07Travis Kelce?

  You're thinking of In-N-Out?

• 50:07Speaker 04

I was thinking In-N-Out. I screwed that up.

• 50:09Travis Kelce?

  I was about to say.

• 50:10Speaker 04

  It's definitely better than In-N-Out.

• 50:11Travis Kelce?

  I've got it.

• 50:12Speaker 04

I think it's probably better than Five Guys too, if I'm being honest.

• 50:15Travis Kelce?

You're more of like a Smash Burger type guy anyways, though.

• 50:19Speaker 04

I don't discriminate. I am on a mission to find the best burger. I've been trying to, I'm trying burgers all over the place. I love burgers.

• 50:25Travis Kelce?

Nice. I got a burger spot for you.

• 50:27Speaker 04

There's one in LA called Franken It Up. It's just a food truck in Santa Monica or something like that.

• 50:32Travis Kelce?

  I'm not on food trucks.

• 50:33Speaker 04

Well, it's not even a truck. It's just like a guy set up in the residential zone. I don't even think, I don't even know if it's permitted, but fucking guy makes a great burger. At least after fifteen micheladas.

• 50:43Travis Kelce?

One out of ten. One out of ten, where are you going?

• 50:47Speaker 04

For a cold burger, one out of ten. Those pickles are great. They're very good.

• 50:52Travis Kelce?

  I like pickles now.

• 50:54Speaker 04

  For a smash burger, nine.

• 50:56Travis Kelce?

Ah, it's a really good burger. I hate it's a really good burger.

• 51:00Speaker 04

For a smash burger, what it is, if this was warm, I'd be like devouring it.

• 51:04Travis Kelce?

You, I mean, you are. You've taken four bites and it's already gone. You got, that's your, that's your fourth bite right there.

• 51:11Speaker 04

Cold fries, definitely get them warm.

• 51:14Travis Kelce?

All right, heavy handed, you got a nine. That's, that might be one of the highest scores Jason's ever got.

• 51:19Speaker 04

Can you not just take the onions off?

• 51:20Travis Kelce?

Food number two, La Sorta. Peppers?

• 51:23Speaker 06

We have cheese. We have cheese. We have cheese.

• 51:25Travis Kelce?

  Cheese? Nah, it's too childish.

• 51:29Travis Kelce?

I can do peppers. I can do peppers. I don't prefer it, but I can do peppers. I don't think peppers on pizza go great, but I'll try. Ready? You're still, you still got it.

• 51:43Speaker 04

  Great, great sausage.

• 51:45Travis Kelce?

All right, a little pepper and hamburger meat. It's not bad.

• 51:49Speaker 04

  I'm like positive that's sausage.

• 51:51Travis Kelce?

Yeah, probably is sausage. I looped the two in.

• 51:55Speaker 04

  Jay, can we get confirmation?

• 51:58Travis Kelce?

Sausage and peppers. I mean, it's pretty good.

• 52:00Speaker 04

  Very good.

• 52:00Travis Kelce?

It's pretty good. I'm a, I fucking love a good like Detroit style pizza, a New York style pizza, but I don't know. I don't know. It's not like cheesy enough or like enough sauce for me. It's a little dry.

• 52:11Speaker 04

I do agree. There could be more sauce.

• 52:13Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 52:14Speaker 04

And more cheese. The bread and dough actually.

• 52:16Travis Kelce?

I'm in on though. I'm in on the bread and dough. I'm in on the bread and dough.

• 52:20Speaker 04

The sausage is really good. The flavors are fantastic. I like that it's got a little.

• 52:23Travis Kelce?

  Flavors, solid flavors.

• 52:25Speaker 04

It's got like, does it have red pepper flakes on it?

• 52:27Travis Kelce?

Yeah, 100% it does. I'm in on that. I'm in on a little spicy. I don't think long green peppers should be on a pizza, but it's good.

• 52:35Speaker 04

That is a good piece of pizza.

• 52:35Travis Kelce?

It is a good piece of pizza. I'm going, I see I, I'm a pizza fucking guy, dude.

• 52:41Speaker 04

This is also hard. This isn't a warm pizza. This isn't a warm pie.

• 52:44Travis Kelce?

It doesn't matter. Pizza, cold or hot, can be fucking delicious.

• 52:48Speaker 04

  Sometimes cool pizzas.

• 52:49Travis Kelce?

That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. You don't always get that with burgers. As it lingers and I get more of that spice, I like it.

• 52:57Travis Kelce?

The bite is pretty solid. I'm going a solid seven. I'll go a seven on that.

• 53:00Speaker 04

It's got really good crust, the texture, the dough and everything. They nailed all that.

• 53:05Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 53:06Speaker 04

If it was just a little more robust with the ingredients, it would just really.

• 53:12Travis Kelce?

Really just knock, knock those taste buds out.

• 53:14Speaker 04

It'd be right up there. I'd be, I mean, it's be real good. I'm gonna go, go eight point two.

• 53:22Travis Kelce?

You threw it up there. You're pretty generous right now. I think you're just hungry.

• 53:25Speaker 04

I am. I am on a diet caloric deficit, so this food tastes amazing compared to.

• 53:30Travis Kelce?

  Caloric deficit?

• 53:31Speaker 04

Food without fats and uh, sugar.

• 53:34Travis Kelce?

  We're, we're, we're right up your alley.

• 53:36Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 53:37Travis Kelce?

Um, nice. So we got a nine from heavy handed and a.

• 53:39Speaker 04

I'm also trying to gauge, cause it's not like right out of the oven, trying to be a little bit generous, anticipating that'd be.

• 53:45Travis Kelce?

Look at you, fucking good Samaritan.

• 53:49Travis Kelce?

Well, heavy handed nine, uh, La Sorta. Um, I go 70 goes 8.2 so that puts us at about 7.6.

• 53:59Speaker 04

  It's fucking taco.

• 54:01Travis Kelce?

  Good luck.

• 54:02Speaker 04

That avocado has been sitting out.

• 54:04Travis Kelce?

Oh, I thought that was like bean sauce.

• 54:05Speaker 04

It's all it's avocado. It's just been brown because it's been oxidized. It's avocado. If you don't eat it immediately, just oxidizes. Are these all the same?

• 54:15Travis Kelce?

  No.

• 54:16Speaker 04

  This looks like chicken.

• 54:17Speaker 06

  Chicken is possible.

• 54:19Speaker 04

What did you have at your wedding?

• 54:20Travis Kelce?

I mean, unless they have, unless you had tofu tacos.

• 54:24Speaker 06

  All the tacos.

• 54:28Speaker 04

Love the tortilla. Big corn tortilla only. I, I usually eat flour tortilla. All we did, all we ate growing up was flour.

• 54:36Travis Kelce?

  Yeah, I still eat them.

• 54:37Speaker 04

I can't fucking eat flour tortilla. I can do it. Maybe it's a seafood taco.

• 54:40Travis Kelce?

  I got you.

• 54:41Speaker 04

I can't like eating a flour tortilla now.

• 54:43Travis Kelce?

  So good.

• 54:44Speaker 04

  Just feels so gross.

• 54:45Travis Kelce?

  I love the crunch.

• 54:46Speaker 04

  No, I'm out.

• 54:47Travis Kelce?

You don't see, you don't get them the way they're supposed to be.

• 54:50Speaker 04

  Flour tortillas?

• 54:51Travis Kelce?

Yeah, you probably get them a little soggy and like they're not as crunchy and as fun as the last. I'll still go to Taco Bell, get two and two. I'll get too soft, too hard.

• 55:00Speaker 04

It's a good chicken taco. Chicken taco by far least favorite taco of all the time.

• 55:08Speaker 04

Sure. What is this? Do you have like an alpes? What's that? Pork?

• 55:11Travis Kelce?

  I think that's carnitas.

• 55:12Speaker 04

All right, let's try the carnitas. Jesus Christ.

• 55:20Travis Kelce?

  Caloric deficit.

• 55:24Travis Kelce?

You got the eyebrows up. You know, it's a good thing. You get those eyebrows to go up. That means you've surpassed expectations or there's a little jolt of flavor town that he was.

• 55:35Speaker 04

  I mean, it's a great taco. I will say.

• 55:40Speaker 04

I mean, they're good tacos. Tacos are one thing that I feel like the more off the beaten trail you go, the better the tacos are. Like it's just the way I feel with tacos. Like the more commercialized it is, it's just not as good of a taco. If I'm catching this out of somebody's like back of their vehicle that they drive, it's gonna be the best fucking taco I've ever had in my life.

• 55:59Travis Kelce?

Taco Bell made a living on selling rat food.

• 56:04Speaker 04

  They're good. They're very good.

• 56:09Travis Kelce?

Oh yeah. He's going for the moon pie.

• 56:12Speaker 04

  What the fuck is this?

• 56:13Speaker 06

  It's a mulita.

• 56:14Travis Kelce?

  Mulita?

• 56:15Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 56:16Speaker 04

Is that like a real thing or is that like a gordita?

• 56:18Speaker 06

  No, it's a real thing.

• 56:19Travis Kelce?

Looks like a quesadilla to me.

• 56:21Speaker 04

  It's not a quesadilla.

• 56:25Travis Kelce?

It's a taco burger. The heavy breathing is the fucking illest part of this entire thing.

• 56:30Speaker 04

I mean, it's hard because corn tortillas should be eaten fresh. God damn.

• 56:38Travis Kelce?

Alright, we gotta give it one out of 10. Where are you going?

• 56:41Speaker 04

I bet with all this being fresh, these are probably about as good of a commercialized taco as you can get. But like the last time I was in LA, I went to like the street that Whole Foods is on in Santa Monica.

• 56:52Travis Kelce?

  Yeah.

• 56:53Speaker 04

I'll eat those tacos over these any day of the week. Um, harder to order from. I would say I will give these a seven, eight.

• 57:04Travis Kelce?

  Seven, eight?

• 57:06Travis Kelce?

Nice. Well, that does it for Food Court, brought to you by Suave Men and shout out to Jets Jay for getting married. How about it? I had no idea that guy.

• 57:15Speaker 04

What are your ratings for these foods, Jake?

• 57:17Speaker 06

  Burgers a 10.

• 57:18Speaker 04

  10?

• 57:19Travis Kelce?

10 out of the burger, okay.

• 57:20Speaker 04

Nowhere to go, nowhere to go. Just never be tough.

• 57:23Speaker 06

It's my, it's my favorite burger in LA. It's usually my favorite burger in LA.

• 57:26Speaker 04

Well, it better be your favorite in the world if you're giving me a 10.

• 57:31Speaker 06

You're giving more than one 10 in a row.

• 57:34Travis Kelce?

  Erroneous.

• 57:35Speaker 04

This is where you and I disagree.

• 57:39Speaker 04

  Alright, go ahead.

• 57:40Speaker 06

  Pizza, 8.5 and tacos, I'd give a 7.3.

• 57:45Speaker 04

  7.3?

• 57:45Speaker 06

  Yeah.

• 57:46Speaker 04

  Nice.

• 57:46Travis Kelce?

Nice. You guys are kind of on the board.

• 57:47Speaker 04

I think we're, that's pretty, yeah, we're in the same ballpark.

• 57:50Travis Kelce?

That does it for Food Court.

• 57:52Speaker 04

  Sorry for my chewing.

• 57:52Travis Kelce?

Should we write a book and put it on Audible?

• 58:42Travis Kelce?

I don't think you write Audible books.

• 58:44Speaker 04

  We just get a goat.

• 58:45Travis Kelce?

  What?

• 58:49Travis Kelce?

What's the point of writing an audible?

• 59:03Speaker 04

I got a nice sweater on.

• 59:05Travis Kelce?

That's a cardigan, Jason. Look at you, you little schoolboy. You like, you look Amish in this thing.

• 59:11Speaker 04

I had a Jeff cap on too that I had to take off.

• 59:15Travis Kelce?

They made you take off your hat?

• 59:17Speaker 04

No, I took it off because I was trying to be polite.

• 59:21Travis Kelce?

  Does that work?

• 59:23Speaker 04

  I don't know.

• 59:23Travis Kelce?

Justice is justice, whether it's polite or not.

• 59:26Speaker 04

Oh, you have not been to court, have you?

• 59:27Travis Kelce?

I am a criminal justice major.

• 59:31Travis Kelce?

All right, you want to do it?

• 59:32Speaker 04

I don't know, you sure? Just use that part and move on. All right.
