• 0:15Cameron Hanes?

This is the Keep Hamery Collective with Cody Detwiler, right?

• 0:19Speaker 01

  Detwiler.

• 0:19Cameron Hanes?

  Detwiler.

• 0:20Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 0:21Cameron Hanes?

I've never, I've never, I guess I've never known your last name. Just Whistling Diesel.

• 0:27Speaker 01

I usually go by Diesel or something like that, so.

• 0:29Cameron Hanes?

  Whistling Diesel, right?

• 0:31Speaker 01

  Yeah, sure.

• 0:31Cameron Hanes?

  Where's that come from?

• 0:32Speaker 01

Um, that was a random Instagram name I picked like seven years ago, just because I was, I made an Instagram page for my truck. And I just kept it from the beginning, so.

• 0:40Cameron Hanes?

Well, for me, that's all I've ever known is Whistling Diesel, but I did know Cody because we have corresponded like over the years.

• 0:47Speaker 01

A couple of times, yeah, I think so.

• 0:49Cameron Hanes?

So tell me about like, tell me about how you grew up. Um. Did you grow up right here?

• 0:55Speaker 01

No, no, I grew up in Indiana, like a small town in Indiana.

• 0:57Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 0:58Speaker 01

Um, it was like maybe 5,000 people. Uh, it's called Argus, Indiana, and there's just like rolling farmland, a lot of Amish people. Uh, really quiet place to grow up, uh, not, not very well off, but people are like happy because it's just farm life, you know?

• 1:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:15Speaker 01

Um, so I grew up like that, just like riding four-wheelers, hunting, stuff like that. And, um, went to a really small, there was like 28 people in my class.

• 1:23Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:24Speaker 01

So yeah, really small, really, really small background. Um, just bored and broke and just enjoying what I had.

• 1:32Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:33Speaker 01

Um, I did construction with my dad and, uh, dropped out of high school at like, um, two years early to do homeschool and, uh, yeah, just did that for a few years until I started YouTube and my Instagram and then it's just, the last six years has been crazy, so.

• 1:51Cameron Hanes?

Well, you dropped, you dropped out of school?

• 1:53Speaker 01

Dropped out, like I completed like the last little bit of homeschool. But like I didn't, I didn't go through like the senior year and all that.

• 1:59Cameron Hanes?

You didn't get kicked out or anything?

• 2:00Speaker 01

No, I didn't get kicked out, no.

• 2:01Cameron Hanes?

You decided you had better things to do or?

• 2:02Speaker 01

Yeah, I was, I was just like, I'm out of here, you know?

• 2:05Cameron Hanes?

Well, so, and then what was the vision? To get arrested on like by a bunch of people for tax evasion?

• 2:14Speaker 01

That was completely, that was never the vision. Um, but it happens when you have a vision, I guess people are after you for stuff, so.

• 2:21Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 2:22Speaker 01

Um, no, my vision, uh, was just like, whatever I, like, I, when I want something, I make it happen, like, there's no doubt in my mind that I will achieve it. Uh, so I didn't have a vision, but I like knew where the direction I wanted to go and that was like.

• 2:40Cameron Hanes?

  You wanted something more.

• 2:41Speaker 01

Yeah, I wanted something more. Uh, and I was also raised a Jehovah's Witness.

• 2:45Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 2:45Speaker 01

Uh, so that life is really, it's ingrained in you to be like minimalistic and, you know, not really want too much. Uh, and I really respect it, but it's just not something that was for me, the lifestyle, you know? Um, and I value the morals, but you know, I just, um, I guess I just want more simulation, I guess.

• 3:06Cameron Hanes?

I understand that, yeah, it's a, I, I get that, you know, when you talk about not just Jehovah Witness, but just religion in general, I, I like that, um, you know, our society is about accumulation, basically, money, property, materialistic things, houses, it's always like, can I get more, can I get more? And to me, um, I don't, I'm not obsessed with getting more, I'm obsessed with winning. And usually money and different accumulation of things is a sign that you're, you're winning.

• 3:39Speaker 01

  Right.

• 3:40Cameron Hanes?

Right? So I like winning the game, what is the game, life? And it sounds like that's what you were obsessed with is like, I want to, I have this vision and I want it to, I want to win, I want it, I want it to happen.

• 3:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 3:53Cameron Hanes?

And it wasn't so much about money per se, it was just about, hey, want to make a mark.

• 3:59Speaker 01

Yeah, I think it's a, a byproduct, like you said, um. Like anytime in my life that I've set like a dollar amount as a goal, it's just so, it's like so empty. It's like, um, number one, you don't achieve it when you're focused on the top end, the dollar amount.

• 4:15Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 4:16Speaker 01

Uh, cause you're so distracted by it, uh, that you're not focusing on the journey and the process. And every time that you reach it, you're just like, oh, I, I don't enjoy this as much as I enjoyed accomplishing the thing in the process.

• 4:29Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 4:30Speaker 01

So, um, yeah, it's definitely been like the, the, the journey of doing it all and winning and achieving things non-stop.

• 4:38Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 4:38Speaker 01

Um, is what I enjoy about it. Uh, and it's very unorthodox compared to what most people consider winning or what they do. Cause I have a weird, uh, it came about all weird, but, um, I really enjoy what I do, like everything about it.

Where did it turn into, so you dropped out of school because you achieved what you needed to. You got your, your GED, I assume. Where did it like, hey, I could do so, I could do this. When did that happen?

• 6:50Speaker 01

I, well, I was, it was like negative 10 degrees one day. We're nailing board, I'm doing construction, we're nailing nails into boards and they're bending because the board is frozen. And I'm like, it's okay, but I can't do this forever. And, uh, you know, my gloves are not bending anymore.

• 7:10Cameron Hanes?

You thought it was okay or you thought this fucking sucks?

• 7:13Speaker 01

Yeah, I did. Uh, I was optimistic, but, uh, I, I don't want to complain, but you know, I'm huddling around a salamander heater. Um, that's every five minutes. And I was like, there's gotta be something more. Um, and so I put together in my mind, I was like, I just heard from a friend that you can make money on YouTube. I didn't know how much. I just heard that it was like a decent amount of money. And I was like, I want to make a YouTube video because I filmed as a kid. I had a little camcorder and I just enjoy making videos.

• 7:41Speaker 01

So I, I film, um, a video. It's called like five types of truck guys because I have my pickup truck and I'm just joking around about like the loud exhaust guy or the rolling coal guy or the redneck or whatever.

• 7:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 7:54Speaker 01

And I wrote down step by step, everything I wanted to film in that video. And I didn't know that's like the best way to plan for a video. It's just, I did it right the first time somehow. I wrote down every step. I film it with my other construction buddy who did not want to be there at all because it was still cold when I was filming my video. He's probably thinking, what am I doing here?

• 8:10Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 8:11Speaker 01

And, um, I post the video. It gets zero views, like a thousand views maybe in six months. Um, or in, in a month.

• 8:21Speaker 01

I closed out of my YouTube and I never opened my channel again for like six months. And one day I get an email, six months later, that says, "Your video hit a million views and you have ten thousand subscribers and you hit all the minimums required to make monetize your channel."

• 8:37Cameron Hanes?

  Whoa.

• 8:37Speaker 01

And um, I somehow, the day I get that email is the twenty first, which is the same day you get paid from YouTube. So, I went from zero to eighty one dollars.

• 8:51Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 8:51Speaker 01

  That day.

• 8:52Cameron Hanes?

  There you go.

• 8:52Speaker 01

I made eighty one bucks off of half a million views or whatever.

• 8:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 8:55Speaker 01

And like bananas fell across the screen. I was like, "Oh my god, this is the most money I've ever made without like doing work." It's something I enjoyed.

• 9:02Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 9:02Speaker 01

And uh, it was very miserable. I put a lot of work into the video, but I loved it. Uh, and on that same day, this all happens within the course of an hour. And I could not afford heat for my house, food for my table. I had not eaten out like at a restaurant in like a year. And uh, I immediately pull the U E and I go to Applebee's and I order a steak. It's cold. They forget my silverware. I'm like, I, I just, I literally picked it up and ate it with my hands and I was like, "Screw this." I'm enjoying, like I hadn't had good food like in a long time and I hadn't made a dollar that was off of something I enjoyed. So, that just snowballed into like, "Okay, we're doing this."

• 9:43Cameron Hanes?

So that, that day, so you're, the money you made on your construction job just paid all your bills and basically had no extra?

• 9:50Speaker 01

And maybe it, it might have been enough. I didn't have big dreams, but like I had a big truck payment and I spent a lot of money on diesel. I got horrible few mileage and stuff like that.

• 9:58Cameron Hanes?

How much was that truck? Do you remember?

• 9:59Speaker 01

Sixteen thousand and that's the monster truck out here.

• 10:01Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, gotcha. Okay.

• 10:03Speaker 01

That was bone stock. That was a normal.

• 10:05Cameron Hanes?

And you were making, how much were you making an hour?

• 10:07Speaker 01

  Fifteen dollars an hour.

• 10:09Cameron Hanes?

  Okay, yeah.

• 10:10Speaker 01

  So.

• 10:10Cameron Hanes?

You thought that, you didn't like the math on that?

• 10:12Speaker 01

Uh, the, my, my budget didn't like the math.

• 10:18Cameron Hanes?

So that video, basically, I don't know if that's viral, but it took off.

• 10:24Speaker 01

Yeah, like, I think it ended up hitting a million views.

• 10:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 10:27Speaker 01

Down the road, but it was half a million is when I got that first notification.

• 10:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 10:31Speaker 01

I was lucky, for sure. But I also had to put in the effort to write out a plan for the video.

• 10:36Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 10:36Speaker 01

Cause I was like, if I'm gonna try it, I'm gonna do it right the first time. So I, I did my best and it ended up starting my whole journey with it.

• 10:44Cameron Hanes?

And then, so after that stake at Applebee's, then, then what'd you do? Did you like, okay?

• 10:49Speaker 01

It took like four more tries of videos that did not do as well. And made ten or twelve dollars. They did not do very good. And then I slowly realized like, okay, if I'm gonna do another video that succeeded, I really need to take it seriously. And I just progressively did that until, uh, one month, I made like, I was holding on as long as I could, trying to help my dad out. One month, I remember it was like four or five months in, I made seven grand. And I remember I was almost to work. And I pulled a U I and went back home and I told my dad, I can't do this anymore. I'm sorry.

• 11:20Cameron Hanes?

Were you working for your dad?

• 11:21Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 11:21Cameron Hanes?

  Is his construction company?

• 11:23Speaker 01

Yeah, and I ended up going back a few times to help him because I felt terrible because we're a small team and we work as a family. So I just, I was.

• 11:30Cameron Hanes?

  What did he think?

• 11:33Speaker 01

I think he was like wishing the best for me, but I, he, we just had to find new help for the, for the company, but.

• 11:39Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 11:39Speaker 01

Um, it was definitely a weird, uh, because I was Jehovah's Witness.

• 11:45Speaker 01

Nothing against them. I'm thankful for the background I had. But, uh, because they want like a smaller life, smaller goals and dreams perhaps, you know, it's more God oriented, of course. You're not supposed to talk to anyone who's not a Jehovah's Witness. And so as, um, as my goals and dreams as an adult kind of accumulated, I stepped away from it a little bit. And so I didn't have any friends because they weren't Jehovah's Witnesses and the Jehovah's Witness people that I knew wouldn't talk to me. And it was kind of like just me on my own, just paving my way. So it was really hard because like even your family isn't supposed to talk to you.

• 12:22Cameron Hanes?

At what age was this now?

• 12:24Speaker 01

I would have been nineteen, twenty.

• 12:26Cameron Hanes?

  So that was hard.

• 12:27Speaker 01

Twenty one, maybe, yeah. I like knew it would happen because like, you know, you're supposed to weekly go to the meetings or like preach to people at their door.

• 12:36Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 12:36Speaker 01

And. Um, you're you're they it's it's a form of shunning you to make you realize that oh, maybe I should come back and like. But I I don't know, I just ended up paving my own way, kind of alone. And um, just going after my dream, so.

• 12:53Cameron Hanes?

Was that that probably was hard. I mean, as a young man.

• 12:58Speaker 01

Yeah, like it was hard, but also because I was only raised that way and that was all I knew. Um, my dad was very loving, uh, he's an amazing person. Um, but I was also, I just wanted my dreams so bad that it was all noise to me like I was just locked in, I was like. I'm I'm happy accomplishing what I want to accomplish because I felt like in twenty years of life. I genuinely felt like I was sitting still. It's like sitting in a race, watching everyone run past you. And uh, that's what I felt like. So I was like, I got twenty years to catch up on.

• 13:27Cameron Hanes?

So that the the thought of like, you might have regret outweighed anything.

• 13:32Speaker 01

Yeah, thousand. The regret all hit me at that same year when I realized like I have been doing nothing. Uh, that I want to do.

• 13:40Cameron Hanes?

  Right, right.

• 13:41Speaker 01

Uh, and I think that's genuinely that like that. That snap into reality is what I feel like most people never get. And they're just, they go through life daily in complacency. Not having that shock to reality of like, hey, if I don't do this now, what I want to do. I'm just wasting my time or I'm I'm sitting here while my dreams pass me by.

• 14:04Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 14:04Speaker 01

And so I'm so thankful I got that reality check. After twenty years, I realized. And now I have a like a really good mentality of like, if I'm gonna do something, I need to do it, you know?

• 14:18Cameron Hanes?

Was there, were you watching anybody that inspired you, like for videos?

• 14:23Speaker 01

Uh, that was Jehovah's Witness or?

• 14:24Cameron Hanes?

No, no, that that like you had this vision of making videos and doing something you loved. Was anybody doing what you had in mind like?

• 14:32Speaker 01

  So, um.

• 14:35Speaker 01

Not like in I I watched a couple of people, not really like in the automotive space, but this is so funny. This is my first podcast that is on the internet right. I did one other a long time ago. It's not on the internet.

• 14:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 14:47Speaker 01

Um, this is my first like podcast. It will probably stay up on the internet. I hope so. And uh, it's with you who are one of the very few people that I watched.

• 14:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 14:57Speaker 01

  All the time.

• 14:57Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 14:58Speaker 01

Like all the time. That's why I want to save this for the podcast.

• 15:00Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, nice.

• 15:01Speaker 01

It's like my first podcast and uh, literally in the years before I did YouTube, you were one of like the three people that I watched like every day.

• 15:10Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, man.

• 15:11Speaker 01

Um, and so, yeah, I want to save that for this because I I like religiously followed everything that you did.

• 15:20Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 15:20Speaker 01

And it was a little different. You know, it was hunting.

• 15:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 15:23Speaker 01

Um, but it's something I was into.

• 15:25Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 15:26Speaker 01

But literally your whole slogan of like, keep hammering. I actually like took that to heart and just went with it, man.

• 15:32Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 15:32Speaker 01

Like you are one of the the people that I watch. There's a few others, I think, but um, like that bow on the wall and stuff. I I won that from Hoyt because I was following your like long range shooting stuff.

• 15:45Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 15:45Speaker 01

You'd be shooting at like ninety or a hundred yards.

• 15:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 15:47Speaker 01

Another hammered in or whatever. And I I uh, it was like ten years ago.

• 15:51Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 15:52Speaker 01

And I um, I did exactly what you would do. I'd go out and shoot. I was nowhere near as accurate. I sucked. I didn't have a good bow. Um, it'd be like super cold and I'm just lobbing arrows into the air because I have a sixty pound. It would just like, you know. Um, and so I just got super obsessed over hunting and just like being super accurate with my bow.

• 16:11Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 16:11Speaker 01

And training for it and and uh, yeah, you were one of the people, the people that I that I followed for that.

• 16:16Cameron Hanes?

That is, yeah, I didn't know that. What's uh, do you remember, was there a video that you remember?

• 16:21Speaker 01

I remember just like in your backyard, having the the the target and you're like at ninety or a hundred or one ten. That bow has uh, you inspired me to get, I have a hog father sight that I can tune all the way down.

• 16:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 16:33Speaker 01

And I saw how far you were shooting and that was like unheard of for me because I was like sixteen and I didn't know people could shoot that far with a bow. And uh, because that's how far I shoot with a gun.

• 16:42Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 16:43Speaker 01

  And I uh,

• 16:46Speaker 01

I ended up winning that bow from Hoyt, their test drive competition for their defiant bow.

• 16:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 16:51Speaker 01

I won it and I finally had a bow that would shoot far enough now. And I put a higher peep sight. So that I could arch the bow back.

• 17:00Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:01Speaker 01

And I was shooting it like 200 yards in my parents' lawn. I'm sure I probably messaged you at some point being like, bro, I'm shooting at 200 yards.

• 17:07Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:08Speaker 01

But that was 10 years ago.

• 17:09Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, man.

• 17:10Speaker 01

Yeah, so like you kind of like, I had a whole previous era in a bow hunting page and everything that just never took off.

• 17:15Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, really?

• 17:16Speaker 01

That was like that whole story there for that.

• 17:18Cameron Hanes?

  Okay, I didn't realize that. That's amazing.

• 17:20Speaker 01

  But.

• 17:21Cameron Hanes?

Well, and now, now basically everybody knows who you are. How crazy is that?

• 17:29Speaker 01

I mean, yeah, it's, I don't want to sound conceited, but I appreciate like the, the people that follow me and support me for, for what I have. Like the videos that I've made. I just want to like, I just want people to like, not regret spending time watching a video.

• 17:43Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:44Speaker 01

Cause I, that happens so often on YouTube, you know, um, just, uh, unfulfilled promise at the beginning of the video and you feel like you wasted your day watching it.

• 17:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 17:53Speaker 01

Like I want to make something entertaining. So that was my mission through YouTube. So, yeah, I'm, I'm always amazed when, even when you reach out to me, oh, it's Cameron Hanes. I don't think of it as like, oh, it's just Cameron Hanes reaching out. Like that was a big deal.

• 18:04Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, wow.

• 18:05Speaker 01

So I'm, I'm just super thankful for the whole journey that I've had with this.

• 18:11Cameron Hanes?

I'm so impressed with, uh, with what you've built and being such a, you know, a young man, you're 27.

• 18:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 18:19Cameron Hanes?

And just so like, so focused and driven and well spoken and respectful. It's like,

• 18:29Cameron Hanes?

  yeah, I mean, you're such.

• 18:30Speaker 01

  I appreciate that. Thank you.

• 18:31Cameron Hanes?

Just a high quality young man. It's just, uh, I've never met you until today, but obviously we've known each other.

• 18:37Speaker 01

  For a little bit.

• 18:38Cameron Hanes?

And it's, uh, it's what caught my attention, as, as you know, is what caught a lot of people's attention was you had, was it here they showed up?

• 18:47Speaker 01

  Yeah, right up front. Yeah.

• 18:48Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. So you got arrested. What, what is, what is that about?

• 18:53Speaker 01

Uh, so I have a clean criminal record. I have nothing. I have one speeding ticket when I was 16, when I first got my permit. That's it. Uh, I've never like.

• 19:02Cameron Hanes?

What, how fast are you going?

• 19:04Speaker 01

  Uh, seventy-five and a fifty-five.

• 19:06Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, not even crazy then.

• 19:07Speaker 01

It was the worst cop ever. Worst cop I've ever met was the day I got my permit. And he loved.

• 19:13Cameron Hanes?

  That was the day?

• 19:14Speaker 01

Yeah, like the week, probably the week.

• 19:15Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, the week, okay, yeah.

• 19:18Speaker 01

And that's all I ever had. And I was like, I go by the book. I, I pay my taxes. I, I pay a lot of money to the government. I, I follow the book. We are very careful to do everything the right way. And, um, yeah, uh, five cops came to my door, up here.

• 19:35Cameron Hanes?

Did you know they were coming?

• 19:36Speaker 01

  Zero clues, zero notice.

• 19:38Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 19:38Speaker 01

  Zero, nothing. I had no.

• 19:41Cameron Hanes?

So you didn't get a letter saying, hey, did you buy a vehicle?

• 19:44Speaker 01

  No, no, no, no.

• 19:45Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm, that's weird, isn't it?

• 19:46Speaker 01

So, yeah, for the people watching this, um, this is a very interesting case overall because it's,

• 19:54Speaker 01

it does not abide by the typical like,

• 20:00Speaker 01

it's, it's not an obvious like, oh, this person broke a law, they're in trouble for it.

• 20:04Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 20:04Speaker 01

There's a lot of nuances. It's really weird. Um, there's a lot of strange things about it. And especially the dynamic with me being the person at the end of it. Um, and I don't want to sound conceited for talking about it because obviously like, oh, who wouldn't defend themselves? Well, what's interesting is I think that everything about this case is a slight concern to anyone else in Tennessee or in the American public. It's not the federal government. It's the state government at this point, but, um, what happened is five cops showed up at my door, arrested me. I thought it was a prank. They arrested me and I'm like, uh, what is this for? And they're like tax evasion. I'm like, I've paid all my taxes. I have no clue what this is about. We regularly pay taxes. Uh, most of my money goes to taxes.

• 20:47Cameron Hanes?

Was it, was it the sheriff? Who was it?

• 20:49Speaker 01

So it was, uh, four sheriffs and a special agent.

• 20:51Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 20:52Speaker 01

And I guess the sheriffs must have been called for backup or something. Uh, they arrest me. They take me to jail. I walk a mile up my driveway because I, I offered them the gate code. They wouldn't drive down and pick me up. So we walk a mile. It's like, all right, we'll film it. And they take me to the jail. I'm like, he tightened the handcuffs super tight and respect to cops. I don't disrespect them, but maybe he didn't know what he's doing. I don't know. But on the camera, I'm like, that cops are tight enough. He's like, oh, I'm just going till they won't go anymore. I was like, okay. And, uh, We go to jail, I get booked in for a twenty thousand dollar bond. Um, I'm like handcuffed to the wall. I don't remember anyone's phone numbers, I'm just standing there. Uh, it's super cold in there. I was just, I was doing squats in my cell, like I got a good workout in.

• 21:34Speaker 01

Um, that's the one thing, if I go to jail, I'll be ripped when I come out. Um, and, and, uh, I need more time to work out.

• 21:41Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 21:41Speaker 01

Um. And I was in there for two or three hours. My amazing team like got me out right away. And then that was it. And I had.

• 21:50Cameron Hanes?

When did you know it wasn't a joke?

• 21:51Speaker 01

I had no clue why. Um, when they showed the warrant.

• 21:54Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 21:54Speaker 01

Fairly soon, but they didn't show the warrant first. They were just like, you're under arrest.

• 21:57Cameron Hanes?

Cause I would have thought, oh, okay, this is a.

• 21:59Speaker 01

Yeah, right, right. And people have wanted to do that before. Um, but. Yeah, so it's real. Um, that, that's one thing, I would never like fake something like this. I faked a photo one time, but this is all a hundred percent real. Like, um, this actually happened. So I, um, let's see. I get out and I, I, uh, had no details or why. I had to wonder why for like several days. And people started speculating and the public got it right first. It was for like a, my Ferrari that burned down. Completely in Texas. I had purchased it in Tennessee and registered it in Montana, which is.

• 22:38Speaker 01

Commonly, many people do this. And one advantage of Montana, not saying this is why I did it, but it saves, uh, you don't pay state sales tax in Montana. Uh, millions of people do this. And.

• 22:50Speaker 01

So. I, uh, I found that out many days later. And I'm just like so confused because I'm like, why would they not send me a letter saying I owe the sales tax? Like, I, this is something I've, I said in my last video that may go live by the time this is live. Um. I don't know code six two C dash eight seven nine of the tax code, uh, three, four, eight, six, or whatever that says. Uh, whatever they're, they're trying to paint on me, you know, like I'm just, I'm just, uh, trying my best to run a good business. And doing like what I've been advised to do, you know?

• 23:27Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 23:27Speaker 01

  And, um.

• 23:28Cameron Hanes?

  That's smart business.

• 23:29Speaker 01

  Yeah. And so like, like.

• 23:30Cameron Hanes?

  Trying to limit our tax.

• 23:31Speaker 01

Yeah, no one wants to pay extra taxes. That's a fact of life. Uh, not saying that's why I did it in Montana, but. Um, so I had my Ferrari that I purchased in Tennessee. It was registered in Montana. It burned down in Texas, not even in Tennessee, it doesn't exist anymore. And they arrested me because I did not pay sales tax on that Ferrari. Is a $400,000 Ferrari. This is over $27,000.

Ketone IQ is now backed by research from KU Louven and team of Vizma. Ketone IQ is showing powerful results in helping your body bounce back quicker and push harder, especially in tough, low oxygen conditions. Here's what the science says. Number one, ketone support EPO production. Yes, you heard that right. EPO. That's a hormone that boosts red blood cell count and helps deliver more oxygen to your muscles. Two, they improve blood flow and vasodilation, getting oxygen and nutrients where you need them faster. Three, and also they enhance brain oxygenation for better endurance, sharper focus, and quicker recovery. Whether you're an endurance athlete, a weekend warrior,

• 24:36Cameron Hanes?

or just someone who trains with purpose, Ketone IQ is edge your body's been waiting for. Ready to unlock next level performance? Go to ketone.com/cam for 10% off and 30% off your first purchase. Out in the mountains, there's no room for weak gear. When I'm packing out meat in the heat or loading up for a long range training trip, I need a cooler that holds the line every time. That's why I use Grizzly coolers. These things are bear proof, rugged as hell, and keep ice locked in for days, literally. I've had coolers on the trail, baking in the sun, still holding ice after hauling out elk quarters. That's performance you can count on.

• 25:22Cameron Hanes?

Whether you're running deep in the backcountry or just stacking meat for the weekend, Grizzly is built for that grind. Right now, you can get 20% off at grizzlycoolers.com with the code KEEPHAMMERING. And that's all one word. And I'm not going to spell it. Keep hammering. Again, keep hammering. One word for 20% off. Don't roll with weak gear. Go Grizzly.

• 25:46Speaker 01

They know that I pay my taxes, very large amounts. They know I'm not late on any payments. I pay everyone what they're, what they're doing, what's owed. And they know who my current lawyer is to talk to him. They know my address, obviously. The cops came here. They know every step of the way that a letter could have been sent that says you owe $27,000. They didn't do that.

• 26:12Speaker 01

Why would you not, why, why?

• 26:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:14Speaker 01

It's very interesting to me, you know, cause if it was about the money.

• 26:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:18Speaker 01

  Send a letter.

• 26:18Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 26:19Speaker 01

The only other way I can.

• 26:20Cameron Hanes?

You would have, like, I know what I pay in taxes. I think in January I have to pay $400,000. If somebody said, hey, you owe 27,000 more, I'd probably be like, yeah, probably.

• 26:32Speaker 01

Yeah, or you're gonna go to jail, right?

• 26:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 26:33Speaker 01

  Of course.

• 26:34Cameron Hanes?

  Got it.

• 26:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:34Cameron Hanes?

  Got it.

• 26:35Speaker 01

Right. So like, no one's trying to go to jail or break the law.

• 26:38Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 26:39Speaker 01

We're trying to do what we know is right. You don't know code six dash two C A nine six.

• 26:42Cameron Hanes?

No, it's got me thinking like.

• 26:44Speaker 01

  Bro.

• 26:44Cameron Hanes?

Cause I bought a truck in Georgia, gave it away.

• 26:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:47Cameron Hanes?

I'm like, are they gonna try to turn this into, is it like they turned it, people who are winning, as we said, or successful, they trying to send a message?

• 26:55Speaker 01

I really think it's some sort of publicity thing to get everybody to panic and worry that they're gonna get arrested too and that they should pay their sales tax.

• 27:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 27:05Speaker 01

Or worry or something, I don't know.

• 27:07Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 27:07Speaker 01

Um, I don't think it's about the money.

• 27:09Cameron Hanes?

  It doesn't seem like it.

• 27:12Speaker 01

Yeah, so, so most IRS, you know, they'd send you a letter.

• 27:15Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 27:15Speaker 01

You owe this. Otherwise, everybody would be in jail.

• 27:18Cameron Hanes?

I thought, I thought that that's how it.

• 27:20Speaker 01

  That's what I thought too.

• 27:21Cameron Hanes?

  Was supposed to work.

• 27:22Speaker 01

  That's what I thought too.

• 27:23Cameron Hanes?

I mean, are we trying? I don't know, it just doesn't make sense. What makes sense to me is

• 27:33Cameron Hanes?

I love our country, but I don't like going after, when it feels like the country, I don't know who that would be, but is going after successful people who are kicking ass to try to get, cause what they want, they want, in my head, they want consumers, they want people to do what they're told. They're like, oh, you get this shot when you're told, you wear this mask when you're told. They want people who don't push back on anything, who aren't like kicking ass in life, basically. People who aren't like, you believe in yourself, you got this vision, those are the type of people who don't conform.

• 28:08Speaker 01

  Right.

• 28:08Cameron Hanes?

So is that what they're trying to correct out there? It's just like, hey, before you get a little too big for your britches like this guy did? Maybe just tone it back a little bit.

• 28:18Speaker 01

  Yeah, maybe.

• 28:19Cameron Hanes?

  I don't know.

• 28:20Speaker 01

Or, or, you know, like, obviously, I think the goal of whoever did this, I think their goal is to capture tax money. And I think they're trying to, this is a good way to describe it, I think they're trying to aggressively educate people.

• 28:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 28:35Speaker 01

Not lovingly educate people. And that's the problem is this isn't federal, this is state. But I think, I think. What, you know what surprised me the most is that this is Tennessee. This is like the far right, south, you know? And this is like a dumb little tax case, you know, like, like, like I. I'm sure there's tax money that they, they are missing out that they want to capitalize on. You know, but there's a, there's a way to educate and show people, you know, like, like, I don't know. I think it's similar to the whole ATF thing like, oh, there's something wrong with. This one little gun modification, we're gonna arrest millions of people.

• 29:07Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 29:08Speaker 01

Or we can arrest one guy and like prove this point. Or you can just make an announcement that says this is illegal. Don't do it.

• 29:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 29:13Speaker 01

Um. So yeah, there's a, there's another really interesting thing. Um, when I talk a lot, I get super thirsty.

• 29:21Speaker 01

There's another really interesting thing. So.

• 29:26Speaker 01

People love this stuff to eat it up. Like, I don't want to do it for attention. I don't want to do it because people love it. I want to do it because I think people should know about it. Um, just because the absurdity of it. But I made that video, that YouTube video, and it got six million views now, six and a half. And, um, a lot of people asking, you know, what the hell is going on? Um, saying it's crazy. And. Obviously word reached the people really quick that are doing this. And. They tried pushing through. I have court for something else on Monday.

• 30:02Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm.

• 30:03Speaker 01

Uh, this Monday, the, uh, nine, the eighth. Uh, they tried pushing through, and I didn't even know this existed, a gag order to shut me up. Uh. Motion to impose gag order on defendant. And this is, uh, me versus the, uh, the state again. Um. They say they list all the followers I have, 20 million plus followers. Um. This moves the court to impose a gag order on defendant Cody Detwiler and Whistling Diesel prohibiting him from making any. Judi- extrajudicial statement via any form of social media platform. Uh, they list what I do with vehicles. They show all of my, uh, they have, they have

• 30:48Speaker 01

pictures of all my social media posts.

• 30:49Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 30:50Speaker 01

I said I was gonna like take my bulldozer to court and everything.

• 30:52Cameron Hanes?

  I remember, I saw that.

• 30:53Speaker 01

Um, and, and, you know, I, most of, like, I, I, I feel like all this is just factual, showing my story.

• 31:01Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 31:01Speaker 01

Um, you know, I don't, I don't, I don't wanna like rile people up to kill those are stuff they said they were concerned about. I didn't actually bring it to court cause I was, I didn't have to go that day. But, um, so, like, I'm a respectful individual. I think they know I'm not like a, you can bleep this out if you need, I, they know I'm not like gonna cause harm to anyone.

• 31:20Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 31:20Speaker 01

Um, but they, they list everything I did and they show the merch that I'm selling with my mug shot on t-shirts. And the, the, the t-shirts have the indictment on them. And they, they list this being like a problem that their names are on the indictment. They publish the indictment publicly.

• 31:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 31:39Speaker 01

  They have it public.

• 31:41Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 31:41Speaker 01

It's defamatory in that way as well.

• 31:43Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 31:44Speaker 01

  Um, from them.

• 31:45Cameron Hanes?

They can't pick and choose just because.

• 31:47Speaker 01

So, the freedom of speech goes both ways.

• 31:48Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 31:49Speaker 01

The Florida cops are allowed to make a press release saying how, you know, some murderer is a douchebag, right? Like, this piece of shit, get him off the street.

• 31:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 31:58Speaker 01

Uh, just the same way that works is the same reason I'm allowed to talk about my case.

• 32:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:03Speaker 01

Um, freedom of speech, First Amendment. So I, um, this was all spawned off of some people contacting the people of the state and not being a hundred percent respectful. There's no threats.

• 32:13Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 32:14Speaker 01

Um, and what they say here, so in this, in this gag order, they said the reason, uh, what they want to happen.

• 32:23Speaker 01

Let me see here. It is, uh, it's on one of these, there's so many, okay. "Based on the foregoing, after all that, my screenshots and my social media, the state moves this court enter gag order against a defendant applicable to all of his social media platforms prohibiting him from commenting on the case or its fact pattern in any fashion and from attempting to monetize this prosecution in any form."

• 32:48Speaker 01

So not only they not want me to talk about it, they don't want me to make any money on it.

• 32:51Cameron Hanes?

  Right, yeah.

• 32:52Speaker 01

  The attempt to monetize it.

• 32:54Cameron Hanes?

  That is nuts.

• 32:55Speaker 01

From, in a way, I like to understand everyone's motive or something. In a way, I understand that like, you know, they didn't expect that to happen. It's, you know, it's obviously, it's a high-profile case.

• 33:05Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:06Speaker 01

But I would assume that the people who did all that research would also know who they were doing that to.

• 33:10Cameron Hanes?

  That's what you do.

• 33:11Speaker 01

  They obviously knew.

• 33:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:13Speaker 01

So I, I don't feel sorry. I don't, I, I'm not trying to stir people up. I think they're getting stirred up over the nature of it.

• 33:19Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 33:21Speaker 01

  I haven't killed anyone.

• 33:22Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah, no, it's, and that's kinda like in my message to you, I said,

• 33:29Cameron Hanes?

when we were talking about doing this podcast, I said, "It seems crazy that they would go after you for this while we got pedophiles running our country."

• 33:36Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 33:37Cameron Hanes?

It's just like, what are we focused on?

• 33:39Speaker 01

Right, like, yeah, I, I, I mean, I get their job is probably to just capture tax money, but,

• 33:44Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 33:45Speaker 01

you know, the, the amount of resources being used.

• 33:46Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it just, just like, from big picture, you know, I know it's different departments and like, whatever, I might say something crazy about pedos or whatever, but, and I understand they're not anyway related, but it just seems weird, right? It just seems weird that they make this big pump and circumstance for you to put on this dog and pony show, then, you know, don't want you to talk about it. It's just like, well, then why'd you do it? You know, it's just,

• 34:10Speaker 01

  Right.

• 34:11Cameron Hanes?

it doesn't even make any sense.

• 34:12Speaker 01

Yeah, I, I don't know. I think, I think there was a big hornet's nest that was just poked and it's just gonna be a big shit show.

• 34:18Cameron Hanes?

  Cause you know, life's competitive.

• 34:20Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 34:20Cameron Hanes?

When you're winning, it makes people who aren't winning feel bad about themselves.

• 34:24Speaker 01

Yeah, uh, I've, I've definitely like had my share of, of that to an extent. My, my persona and channel as Whistle Diesel is very abrasive. And I don't blame anyone for not liking it if they don't, cause I understand, because I used to be the same. I would watch someone with a nice car. This is actually almost what spawned my channel is I'd watch someone with a nice car.

• 34:47Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 34:49Speaker 01

And I would just, like, I'd hear them talk about it and I'd be like, "Oh, you think you're all that? You got this nice car. Wow, I don't." Okay, well, I just hated.

• 34:56Cameron Hanes?

  It makes me feel bad.

• 34:56Speaker 01

I hated that I didn't have a nice car, cause it made me feel bad. It's, it feels like an insult. The success of so much, it feels like an insult.

• 35:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 35:02Speaker 01

And my channel turned into destroying nice cars in a way, and, and that brought me. The success itself.

• 35:09Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 35:09Speaker 01

It's such a weird alter ego.

• 35:12Cameron Hanes?

You gotta be polarizing to get attention, basically.

• 35:14Speaker 01

Yeah, and that's not really my goal. I just do it because I enjoy it, you know, um, and it works.

• 35:19Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, well, you know what works.

• 35:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:22Cameron Hanes?

You know, you know what people makes people care.

• 35:24Speaker 01

Yeah, like, and I'm I'm trying to tweak things in a way that's not just wasteful. I never wanna, I know. People think I set my Ferrari on fire on purpose. And I was just trying to have fun in the cornfield and it's super hot that day in Texas. And um, everybody's like, oh, I got a cornfield behind my place. You should drive around in it. And I. Ten seconds later.

• 35:45Speaker 01

We uh, I was like, we gotta get an epic shot of us bailing off the road into the cornfield, and the corn husks flying everywhere. It's a hundred and ten degrees out in southern Texas in the summer. And this Ferrari is brand new. It has like six thousand miles on it. And uh, we have a brand new rental car too. And have you seen the video?

• 36:01Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 36:01Speaker 01

And. We have all of our stuff in the rental car and everything. And the the rental car is a minivan, and it's our chase car. And this is the same car that they're saying no tax on. We bail off into the field, we're hauling through the cornfield, and I'm just doing this left and right.

• 36:17Cameron Hanes?

  Flying everywhere?

• 36:18Speaker 01

  Flying everywhere.

• 36:18Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 36:19Speaker 01

We're getting a really good shot. And all of a sudden, I see them, they're stopping, pointing. I'm like, faster, faster, faster. The minivan wouldn't go any faster. It was like overheating and everything. And I'm like, get the shot. And they start pointing at the car and I'm like, what, what, what, why are you stopping? And he's like. Fire, fire. And I'm like, oh, no, this is bad.

• 36:37Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 36:37Speaker 01

And I've never had a car like burned down before. Um. I get out and I'm like, we have bottles of water. Everybody's like. Throw water on it. We're dumping water.

• 36:46Cameron Hanes?

  Was the car on fire?

• 36:48Speaker 01

The car exhaust got all the corn husks.

• 36:50Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 36:51Speaker 01

And it was like, setting everything on fire. This is a tinderbox, a whole field. The car catch is on fire. We're trying to dump water on it. We're panicking. We're all focused on the Ferrari. I look over and the minivan is on fire. The whole Ferrari and minivan burned up. We lost all of our stuff.

• 37:08Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 37:08Speaker 01

We're throwing things out of the minivan.

• 37:10Cameron Hanes?

  Like camera stuff?

• 37:11Speaker 01

Oh, man, we lost like Louis Vuitton bags, everything. But it's the nature of the game. I didn't complain. I made the best of it. I like shredded the car and sold it in cubes. Um, I, uh, yeah, um. It was definitely a wild day and we all rode home in a minivan or in a Jeep in the cold scrunched up at night. Um, and yeah, it was just a really wild day. Sorry, I forget what we were talking about. This is a crazy story.

• 37:38Cameron Hanes?

So that's turned it. Now it's the van and the car.

• 37:40Speaker 01

The Ferrari is the gift that never stopped giving. Yeah.

• 37:44Cameron Hanes?

That is nuts. Well, yeah, so.

• 37:46Speaker 01

No, the tax is not over the van. That was a rental.

• 37:48Cameron Hanes?

Oh, gotcha, gotcha. Side story. One time my dad had this, uh, big station wagon. It wasn't a Ferrari, but I went to see this girl and I parked up on the side of the road like out in the country, but, uh, her house was down where her parents live, just down below. So we're down there and then we look out, there's like black smoke billowing up. Anyway, this station wagon caught on fire and burnt the whole thing, burnt this whole big tree by the road, whole station wagon just charged. So I called my dad and I'm like, I'm like, hey dad, uh,

• 38:25Cameron Hanes?

your car caught on fire and is burnt. It's gone. And he's just like, I just remember there's like this pause and you're just like, what? Like boom, and then it hangs up. And I'm like, okay, so similar to that, not a Ferrari. I didn't get, I might get arrested for it. Who knows? But, uh, yeah, anyway.

• 38:48Speaker 01

Yeah, they're building a tax case against you.

• 38:50Cameron Hanes?

I've seen a car burn up like that. So it could, it could have been just electrical problem like that one. But, uh, yeah, isn't that, that's nuts.

• 38:58Speaker 01

Yeah, I learned my lesson multiple times with different things, how to behave around different dynamics. Now we've had, we've learned a lot of interesting ways things can fall apart and break and disasters can happen.

• 39:08Cameron Hanes?

I did see the one where I think you were pulling, was it the Tesla? What was that? That was the where the bumper came off?

• 39:16Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, we were doing a Cybertruck durability test.

• 39:18Cameron Hanes?

  Right, that's.

• 39:19Speaker 01

  And uh.

• 39:19Cameron Hanes?

  I saw that one.

• 39:20Speaker 01

It like hit a piece of concrete and then we were doing a tug of war, pulling it out.

• 39:24Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 39:24Speaker 01

And the whole bumper just in the frame snapped and came off.

• 39:27Cameron Hanes?

Did Elon ever comment on that?

• 39:28Speaker 01

No, but I understand why and I love Elon very much. I I I'm a super fan. Um, and I I was just doing my thing of testing the Cybertruck. Um, but yeah, I like, I wish I wish they would bring on some people who like really know pickup trucks to like.

• 39:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 39:42Speaker 01

Build some really strong stuff, but it was just the aluminum frame.

• 39:46Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, I see.

• 39:47Speaker 01

Um, but I knew it'd be a really big video. I tried getting a hold of Tesla beforehand because I wanted to work together and like if I had a problem like that, I could communicate with them and.

• 39:54Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 39:54Speaker 01

It could be really seamless, but it didn't work out. They thought I was just gonna slander it the whole time.

• 39:59Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 39:59Speaker 01

I actually love the Cybertruck. It's one of my favorite trucks. It just, it's more of an SUV.

• 40:05Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 40:05Speaker 01

  It's more of a car.

• 40:06Cameron Hanes?

  Gotcha, yeah.

• 40:07Speaker 01

Like I wouldn't toe a gooseneck with it, but we are. We put a gooseneck hitch and it works. It's a great truck.

• 40:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 40:12Speaker 01

I understand the hate to an extent, but it's an amazing, it's the future for sure.

• 40:16Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 40:16Speaker 01

It just needs to be worked on a little.

• 40:18Cameron Hanes?

Well, Joe, Joe, was Elon there when he shot the arrow?

• 40:22Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:22Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, yeah.

• 40:23Speaker 01

  Did that together.

• 40:23Cameron Hanes?

So, yeah, they did that together, so.

• 40:24Speaker 01

Yeah, and like the steel body panels are amazing. They're really good. Everybody's complaining like, oh, they, um. It's horrible in an accident because it hurts other people or whatever. Like the vehicle's very durable. You're not gonna dent it.

• 40:35Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 40:36Speaker 01

Like you can shoot, it's bulletproof. Like, it's great.

• 40:38Cameron Hanes?

  Uh, yeah.

• 40:39Speaker 01

  Everything has its flaws.

• 40:40Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, for sure. I was, he- here's another flaw. I was gonna buy a, I think it's a Hummer three, the pickup, right? Is that, is that the new?

• 40:49Speaker 01

  Something like that.

• 40:50Cameron Hanes?

  Or, yeah, no, it's a, it's a Hummer, right?

• 40:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:52Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, and uh, because I give away the trucks, kinda, you know, do the giveaway things. You buy merch and.

• 40:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:59Cameron Hanes?

Can win the truck. So I was gonna be like, oh, this Hummer three pickup, that's what I, that's what I need, something different. I've had all these other trucks.

• 41:04Speaker 01

The people don't like it, do they?

• 41:06Cameron Hanes?

No, no, I didn't like it because I got there, they're only electric.

• 41:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 41:10Cameron Hanes?

I'm like, wait, could I get, no, I need, I said, you got a hybrid or something or a diesel for, no, all electric. I'm like. Why the would I want a electric pickup?

• 41:20Speaker 01

Yeah, you know what's crazy is, um, I, the Ferrari out here, the black Ferrari.

• 41:25Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 41:25Speaker 01

  It's a.

• 41:28Speaker 01

Automakers are doing a much more proper approach to the hybrid than pickup truck makers are, or car makers than pickup truck makers. So, um, in that Ferrari, there's a twin turbo V8 and four electric motors.

• 41:43Cameron Hanes?

See, that's how you do it.

• 41:45Speaker 01

So I can turn off the V8 going 80 miles an hour and I can roll in silence, full electric.

• 41:50Cameron Hanes?

  Whoa.

• 41:51Speaker 01

  For 20 miles.

• 41:51Cameron Hanes?

  That is sick.

• 41:52Speaker 01

If I'm out of fuel, I can roll full electric up to the gas station.

• 41:55Cameron Hanes?

That's how it's supposed to work.

• 41:56Speaker 01

I have immediate torque. It pushes the engine when it takes off.

• 41:59Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 41:59Speaker 01

If I don't want to cold start it when I'm pulling out, I can be silent. I can just move.

• 42:03Cameron Hanes?

  That's pretty sick.

• 42:04Speaker 01

We'll have to go on a ride later.

• 42:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 42:05Speaker 01

And the pickup trucks just went full electric. They're like, remove the engine. Let's go full electric. It's horrible for, um, mileage.

• 42:13Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 42:14Speaker 01

Um, no one wants to worry about charging it. Um, Edison Motors is doing the semi. They put a diesel generator with the electric that charges it so you don't have to worry about the range.

• 42:22Cameron Hanes?

  Gotcha.

• 42:22Speaker 01

  So that's how trains work.

• 42:24Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 42:24Speaker 01

Uh, so it's an amazing proved concept.

• 42:26Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 42:26Speaker 01

These manufacturers just went full electric. Like it's gonna, these, the people can't do that. It doesn't work like that.

• 42:32Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 42:32Speaker 01

The economy isn't there, the fuel economy, the mileage, you know?

• 42:35Cameron Hanes?

Especially like if you're trying to sell trucks to guys who want trucks.

• 42:39Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 42:39Cameron Hanes?

They might be in the woods. They might be, you know, where are you gonna charge this fucker?

• 42:42Speaker 01

  You cannot.

• 42:43Cameron Hanes?

  It's, uh,

• 42:44Speaker 01

It's, it's just funny, like the practicality of this Ferrari out here, the hybrid with a V8.

• 42:48Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 42:49Speaker 01

They've held to their roots more than like a diesel engine, you know, like Dodge Ram or something.

• 42:54Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that is.

• 42:56Speaker 01

Dodge has done a good job of it, but you know, like a lot of these.

• 42:59Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. I ended up getting a GMC and it's really nice.

• 43:02Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:03Cameron Hanes?

It's, I've never had one of those, but.

• 43:04Speaker 01

  A hybrid or?

• 43:05Cameron Hanes?

  No.

• 43:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:06Cameron Hanes?

  It's a.

• 43:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:07Cameron Hanes?

  2500.

• 43:08Speaker 01

Yeah, I, I've stayed away from, um, it's funny, we're Whistling Diesel is our brand.

• 43:13Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 43:14Speaker 01

I have one truck and it's the giant monster truck. I haven't had a normal pickup truck in 10 years.

• 43:19Cameron Hanes?

Well, that's all right. We'll, we'll go with the name still. It's a good name.

• 43:22Speaker 01

Well, I mean, we have the jet engines and those are diesel and they whistle a lot more.

• 43:26Cameron Hanes?

  Until you go to prison.

• 43:27Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah, yeah.

• 43:28Cameron Hanes?

So what's gonna happen with your case? Hoy began with a dream and a simple desire. Create the best bow hunting and target archery equipment possible. And since 1931, that is exactly what they have been doing. I'm skeptical every year that this year's bow will be better than last year's, yet somehow their engineers seem to figure it out. I think that's what sets them apart, is their engineers are all avid hunters themselves, so they take their bows in the field every year with intent to make them stronger, faster, and more accurate. Hoyt is actually my lifetime bow sponsor. Yes, I signed a lifetime contract with them. That is how much I believe in them. Hoyt is offering listeners of the podcast 20%

That's why for the past two seasons, I've been using Six Hour Binos, and I absolutely love them. These optics change the game. The binos I've been using are the Zulu Image Stabilizing. That means no more shaky glass after a long hike, no more struggling to hold steady after you've humped it up a hill. With Image Stabilization, you lock in and pick apart the country in a way that just isn't possible with standard glass. I've found more animals and saved more time because of these binos, plain and simple. And here's the kicker. Optics companies almost

So if you're serious about glassing and want the same edge I've had for the past two seasons, head to SigSauer.com, grab a pair of Zulu Binos, and use code CAM for 10% off. Six Hour Zulu Binos. See more, hunt harder.

• 45:14Speaker 01

Well, just last night, I looked up like what the assumed punishment could be. It's like one to six years in prison. Yeah, we'll see how that works. I don't think it's going to lead to that. And if it does, I mean, I'm a very resilient person, but I, my, uh, my brand and lifestyle allows me to endure some crazy things that would usually not be good for people. But I'm optimistic regardless, but it's crazy. It's really crazy.

• 45:43Cameron Hanes?

  You're in prison.

• 45:46Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I would hope it.

• 45:47Speaker 01

  Oh, it's so funny.

• 45:48Cameron Hanes?

I ran with this guy who did a, um, I like not hung out, but we went on a run. But he went to prison for like a white collar, like tax stuff before. And, uh, it didn't seem terrible. I mean, obviously, nobody wants to get a prison, but I would hope you wouldn't be in with murderers.

• 46:08Speaker 01

Yeah, I think I would be.

• 46:10Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 46:10Speaker 01

So, so I was talking to a friend, a guy, um, his name is Mikey, who cuts my hair. And, um, his son was actually killed in his front lawn in Nashville by, um, another kid. He was over eighteen, I think. And, um, this happened in the same state that this is. And it's been over a year. This kid was let out with an ankle monitor for months. It only monitors his whereabouts.

• 46:39Cameron Hanes?

  After murder?

• 46:40Speaker 01

Yes. It only proven on ring camera, only monitors his whereabouts or specific times. He's not, he's not in jail yet. Obviously, I mean, they have to go through the system, but

• 46:51Speaker 01

they're talking, he was talking to me this morning, I was talking about it. Maybe ten years in prison. And I'm far end looking at maybe six for, uh, not knowing code six two dash eight two seven six three C of the tax code. Um, they just put everybody in prison. Put everybody in prison.

• 47:10Cameron Hanes?

It's, I don't know what's more upsetting, that that kid, that the, you know, guy's son got murdered.

• 47:18Speaker 01

  You know, it's much more.

• 47:19Cameron Hanes?

The murderer's out. That's upsetting? Or that they're gonna go crazy overboard on you? Neither one of them's right, but what a tragedy. I mean, a, a young man got killed.

• 47:29Speaker 01

Yeah, no, I mean, like, and this guy's a repeat offender. And guess what? Guess what? Uh, I, I need to draw more attention to this. He's done it before. It's not the first, yeah.

• 47:38Cameron Hanes?

  He's killed people.

• 47:38Speaker 01

Yeah, it's not the first time. In Nashville.

• 47:41Cameron Hanes?

  Oh.

• 47:42Speaker 01

And he showed me a picture of the judge who let him out. Um, because maybe they couldn't fully, maybe couldn't fully prove it or whatever. They have ring camera footage now. Um, but yeah, it's, it's, this is happening everywhere. You see in the news. And, um, somehow

• 47:58Speaker 01

the tax man is so focused on that.

• 48:01Cameron Hanes?

  That is nuts.

• 48:02Speaker 01

It's his job, I get it, but.

• 48:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that.

• 48:05Speaker 01

  It's just crazy.

• 48:06Cameron Hanes?

That seems, I mean, I, I don't, I don't know what word, but wrong, obviously. It seems so wrong that that's how the system works.

• 48:15Cameron Hanes?

Or that it could, it's not right. It's uh, yeah, I don't know.

• 48:20Speaker 01

Yeah, um, yeah, America is, we love America. But there's also the same fundamentals that build the country. Are inherently at the top end towards the uh, the authority of it all. It's it's flawed.

• 48:39Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 48:40Speaker 01

Because you have, everyone's arguing with it. The freedom allows everybody to argue with each other. There's a lot of like disorganization, you know, they they think, oh, you know, we have to cover every aspect. If a paper allows something to happen, it can and will happen.

• 48:56Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 48:56Speaker 01

If the paper allows it to, um, you know, there is, there is so many, there there are other countries where maybe it's it's a a ruling family or something and they make the decision based on a human, you know.

• 49:10Cameron Hanes?

What do you mean the paper?

• 49:11Speaker 01

Um, but if the paper, the paper, the way the laws might allow them to go after this.

• 49:16Cameron Hanes?

  Gotcha.

• 49:16Speaker 01

Why are they, oh, I'm allowed to. This guy may not know me from anyone else. And he's like, oh, I'm gonna pursue this. The only way is to arrest him and take him to prison.

• 49:23Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 49:24Speaker 01

Um, yeah, it's just, it's interesting. I don't know much about law. I can't speak on it. Uh, I just, I know how humans work. And I know that, uh, you know, a country built on punishing people is communist. I mean.

• 49:41Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, if, when you look at, this is where I I heard this from, um, the guy who I ran with, Jake Kilgore, who went to prison. And he was saying something like, some of the stats he had was two million people incarcerated. I can't remember if that's federal or state, but you know, putting people in jail is a great business for our country. I mean, yeah, food, you know, we got, you got the corrections officers, you got the lawyers, you got the attorneys, you got everybody working. Like this is, it's an industry. So when somebody is indicted by the federal government, there's like a ninety nine or something percent conviction rate because they make it so overwhelming.

• 50:24Cameron Hanes?

You have to accept something, a plea deal, right? Either you say you're guilty, or you accept some other... But they always win, right?

• 50:33Speaker 01

I wouldn't know about always, but yeah.

• 50:35Cameron Hanes?

They stacked, but they stacked the deck to where people, the regular guy, like, you can push back, but the regular guy can't.

• 50:43Speaker 01

  Right.

• 50:43Cameron Hanes?

How can he survive that much, the legal debt, the, you know, getting attorney fees? What, he's just like, okay, I guess I gotta say I'm guilty.

• 50:55Speaker 01

Yeah, that's, that's why like in this case, they, it's so good and so bad that they went after me. Because like, obviously, they might feel like I'm the best guy to send a message, but at the same time, I am the best guy.

• 51:06Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 51:07Speaker 01

That this could have happened to.

• 51:08Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, to push back.

• 51:09Speaker 01

There's so many other people, and I'm sure most of the people with Montana LLCs probably have a little bit of money.

• 51:13Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 51:14Speaker 01

But, um, there's no reason to think they wouldn't pay the tax either if they got a letter.

• 51:16Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 51:17Speaker 01

But, um, you know, this, this is something anybody could do. Someone who buys a $3,000 Honda Civic could also title their car in Montana. They could register in Montana.

• 51:27Speaker 01

I just, I just like to think that it's, I, I might be the best person to draw attention to it.

• 51:32Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, yeah, I think, I, I hope so. I mean, I don't want you to go to prison, but I also want, when something's wrong, I want it addressed and corrected. You know, I mean, if this, this doesn't seem, feel right.

• 51:45Speaker 01

Yeah, you know, you know, it's interesting, the, um, we're talking about the guy in Teton that cut the switchback on the trail. Now, I don't know the dynamics, I don't know if he was told not to, or if he knew. I don't know the facts. But I also think it's insane, I saw the news and I was like, that's insane, that you're talking about prison time for cutting a trail.

• 52:06Cameron Hanes?

  Come on.

• 52:06Speaker 01

Okay, was he supposed to cut it? I don't know, the law probably says no, maybe, I, I don't, I didn't know.

• 52:12Cameron Hanes?

  There might be some sign.

• 52:13Speaker 01

I went hiking in Teton, I wouldn't know.

• 52:14Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 52:15Speaker 01

I wouldn't know, okay, if I cut that, I'm gonna go prison. If I hike in the grass, if I walk in the grass, I could go to prison.

• 52:20Cameron Hanes?

  Right, yeah, that seems crazy.

• 52:22Speaker 01

  You know, like...

• 52:23Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that seems great. And then the president had to pardon him.

• 52:26Speaker 01

  That's insane. That's insane.

• 52:28Cameron Hanes?

  A trail runner.

• 52:30Speaker 01

  Insane. A guy enjoying nature.

• 52:32Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 52:32Speaker 01

More likely to go to prison than some one sitting on their couch gaming on a Sunday.

• 52:36Cameron Hanes?

Or somebody who who murdered somebody in their front yard.

• 52:40Speaker 01

  A thousand percent.

• 52:40Cameron Hanes?

  And is out free.

• 52:41Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 52:41Cameron Hanes?

And then this guy's dealing with with this and.

• 52:44Speaker 01

  Like, I wish I had a.

• 52:45Cameron Hanes?

  Potential prison time. Yeah.

• 52:47Speaker 01

Yeah, I wish I had a list of cases that are similar because it like I I've actually promoted on my Instagram. I want to like use my social media for what's right. And um, I, every time I see a case that's like, oh, so this happened to this person, their family was killed or something. Person was let out eighty six times or whatever.

• 53:05Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 53:06Speaker 01

  I'm just like in disbelief.

• 53:08Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 53:08Speaker 01

That the system is set up in such a way that that could even happen at all. Everybody is. But it's like, who's going to change it?

• 53:15Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 53:15Speaker 01

Who's going to do anything to change that?

• 53:16Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 53:17Speaker 01

It's like everybody's saying like, oh, punish the judges or whatever. I don't know. I'm not. I'm not in legal system.

• 53:23Cameron Hanes?

I don't know how it gets there.

• 53:24Speaker 01

  But um.

They take advantage. If they can take advantage of it, they will. I mean, that's people with money. They pay people to figure out how to. If there's a loophole or or whatever, that's how it works. But like, as I said, the regular American doesn't can't do that. And so to me, like you fighting this and and trying to get, you know, the the right precedent set is a fight for the people who can afford to fight. You know what I mean? Who who don't have these options like what you have to push back to have the social media to draw attention to it. Because some people just have to deal with it and then and their whole life is changed forever. But uh, yeah, it's a pretty nuts case. I mean, what where do you uh?

• 54:08Cameron Hanes?

What's the, I mean, where are you at next? You said you have a court date on Monday?

• 54:12Speaker 01

  For the gag order.

• 54:14Cameron Hanes?

  For the gag.

• 54:14Speaker 01

That'll determine if I'm allowed to talk.

• 54:17Cameron Hanes?

Here's what's interesting is like just hearing your story about, you know, working construction and in uh, just how you grew up. How did, did you ever expect? I mean, I already know the answer to this, but you're going to a Christmas party tonight with like celebrities. How does that? Is that nuts?

• 54:38Speaker 01

  Yeah, um.

• 54:40Speaker 01

I there there's been points in my career, I guess, where like I I would be like

• 54:48Speaker 01

chill day, nothing going on. I'm like, maybe I'm like in the shower and I'm just like I literally have like tears in my eyes, just like nothing's happening at the moment. But I know what I've experienced and what I'm going to experience and where I'm at now in life. And I just feel like overwhelmingly just like thankful and grateful and proud of myself. Um, in a non-conceited way, like I just have like sometimes overwhelming like euphoria of like where the position I felt like I was in at one point. Mm hmm. And what I've been able to do for myself um to get where I am. I just make funny videos like I don't think I'm all that. But yeah, like this is like Tucker Carlson's Christmas party for his new alt brand.

• 55:30Speaker 01

And there's a lot of people there that I've always watched and respected and you know, I know all about him. And it's it's definitely a euphoric thing, you know, like I wish I could show more visible emotion for it. I like to be like, look all big and bad, but like I'm just some nerdy YouTuber that was invited here, you know, it's I'm just I'm very, very thankful for it. Yeah. And Tucker, last time, actually, I uh he was super busy. Everyone's next to him. I walk up, I was like, I just wanted to say hi before I go, thank you. He was like, you made the Cybertruck video thirty five million views. He's like, everyone was talking to me about that because his came out the same day as mine or the day before. And and uh mine just both of them did really well, but mine got like thirty five million views and he knew about it. I was like, that's so cool.

• 56:12Speaker 01

I he's on news. I'm my dad's watching news and I'm a kid and you know, it's it's so cool. It's so cool. I I just love. It's such a great group of people tonight. The fact that like you're in town and all my friends are coming that are also like gonna be there. It's he's a really good group of people that are there and I think everybody really has um a very um.

• 56:35Speaker 01

Vindictive and like mature adult mindset like really, really good people.

• 56:41Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, yeah, not vindictive. Yeah.

• 56:44Speaker 01

Sorry vindictive is that means like you stand up for what's right, right?

• 56:47Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, yeah. Well.

• 56:49Speaker 01

  Is that the wrong word?

• 56:50Cameron Hanes?

Vindictive could be getting back at somebody. Yeah, so.

• 56:54Speaker 01

I should work on my vocabulary. I'm a little stupid.

• 56:56Cameron Hanes?

  It's, it's all good.

• 56:57Speaker 01

  I'm just a YouTuber, bro.

• 56:58Cameron Hanes?

No, but when you say that, it reminds me because, you know, my son makes videos too, Truitt. And he's not, not as popular as you, but he does pull ups, running, different things like that. And he'll say that, you know, people criticize him for like, hey, you just do pull ups. You know, he set the world record. So it's just like.

• 57:18Speaker 01

Has a world record pull ups?

• 57:19Cameron Hanes?

He did. Yeah, yeah. He did 10,001.

• 57:22Speaker 01

  10,000?

• 57:23Cameron Hanes?

In a, in a day, yeah.

• 57:24Speaker 01

  Oh, in a day. Okay.

• 57:25Cameron Hanes?

  24 hours.

• 57:26Speaker 01

  Breaks in between?

• 57:27Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, he was doing like six every 30 seconds till.

• 57:30Speaker 01

  I see.

• 57:31Cameron Hanes?

But yeah, so anyway, he, he got 10,001. But people are saying, hey, it's not like you're changing the world. You do pull ups or you run or whatever. And it's just to what I see, young men, I think he's 28, you're 27, is they're showing what's possible. Like you guys are showing like you have a dream. You can make it a reality. He doesn't have a regular job either. He quit. All he does, he has sponsors and he trains and he does this. So it's like, and making more money than working for somebody. So you guys are showing what's possible when you're hungry, when you have a vision, when you, you know, aren't afraid to dream and go after it. That's what it shows. It's just like, yeah, you're making funny videos. You're, you know, doing stuff with, with rigs,

• 58:15Cameron Hanes?

but you're also showing something bigger than yourself. You're like showing, hey, this is guys, you can do this too. Look, I did it. I'm from small town Indiana. I had, you know, no advantage growing up, had to work, earn my way. And now look at you going to Tucker Carlson's Christmas party. So to me, that's what it shows. It's to me, that's the American dream, which kind of makes this so frustrating, which, you know, you've, you're living the American dream and people that run America are trying to it up essentially. It's just like, well, you're, you're dreaming a little too big. Maybe you need to tone it down.

• 58:51Speaker 01

  Maybe.

• 58:52Cameron Hanes?

I don't know, it just, it just, I, I see a lot of positives with what you're doing. And then it reminds me of that, but I think the focus should be on like, yeah, you're kicking ass and it's amazing.

• 59:04Speaker 01

Thank you so much. I really appreciate that. I mean, you're, you're the same. People could say, oh, shooting a bow, a long range or hunting is like, you're not changing the world, but I watched those videos. And that is what persuaded me to go out and I'm like, I'm gonna shoot further than Cameron Hanes and I was like all the time. I would, I would, I started like, I got much better at bow hunting, like I was, uh, you know, I would, I would be, uh, spotting stalking and trying to get like a super far shot. I don't recommend unless you are good.

• 59:31Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 59:31Speaker 01

I don't recommend shooting animals really long distance because you might not get closer.

• 59:35Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 59:35Speaker 01

But, uh, I, I tried to do all the things you did, you know?

• 59:39Cameron Hanes?

I love it. I love it.

• 59:40Speaker 01

That's why YouTube has rules about what you can do now. They're a lot more strict because people copy everything.

• 59:44Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, that's right.

• 59:45Speaker 01

Kids get a lot of inspiration.

• 59:47Cameron Hanes?

  That's right. That's right.

• 59:50Speaker 01

  So.

• 59:51Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I'm, uh, I just like, just curious, um,

• 59:57Cameron Hanes?

you know, you said you grew up Jehovah Witness. Um, where, where are you at now with your faith? Like, do you, do you go to church or just like?

• 1:00:06Speaker 01

  So,

• 1:00:10Speaker 01

  I have a really, um,

• 1:00:13Speaker 01

interest, interesting background where it was very religious. My family was really hardcore religious, but they also were very, very supportive.

• 1:00:21Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:00:21Speaker 01

And I had probably the best childhood.

• 1:00:23Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm.

• 1:00:24Speaker 01

Granted, you know, my, my situation, um, very supportive parents.

• 1:00:30Speaker 01

In the moment, you know, it's like, oh, I can't do what I want. This is terrible. Now that I'm older, I appreciate it so genuinely much. Um, you know, I think that's most kids who are raised in religion. Way later now, I see why and I appreciate it. You know, kids don't understand why they're raised the way they are, strict. Um, my parents did it in a good way. They're very sweet and, uh, mature parents, loving. Um, but, uh, now I, I, I feel because, uh, of my history with Jehovah's Witnesses.

• 1:01:05Speaker 01

I'll my my attitude is like I'll give anything a shot.

• 1:01:08Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:01:08Speaker 01

You know, and I'm not like if someone wants to believe or do something, I totally support that. Do what makes you happy.

• 1:01:13Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:14Speaker 01

And I have nothing against it. I I just um from the past that I had with it. The dynamic of being a Jehovah's Witness could bring me more pain than when I wasn't.

• 1:01:26Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:01:27Speaker 01

And so, you know, I'm really trying to feel. I think I'm at an age where I'm just I'm exploring everything, you know. And there's so many religions out there. I I have I I'm not like a super um religious person at all. But I I don't consider anything not a possibility, you know.

• 1:01:44Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:01:44Speaker 01

Um, I you know, and I I know like the morals that God and religion brings is amazing. It brings it really good people.

• 1:01:52Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:01:52Speaker 01

Most of the time. Um, but uh, you know, yeah, I'm just I'm I'm uh I'm open to anything and I really support people. You know, if they believe in something.

• 1:02:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:01Speaker 01

I think that's good. I think that's it is open love, you know, like like. Someone doesn't want to do something, I think that's totally fine.

• 1:02:08Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:02:08Speaker 01

If they want to, I think that's great as well. You know, do it as long as you're not hurting other people.

• 1:02:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:12Speaker 01

You know, do what makes you happy.

• 1:02:14Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I I was curious just because of how you grew up so focused on that. Not not focused, but it was a. It's fine. It's. I think it's good to have something to believe in. I think it's good to believe in Jesus and God. And I think that's it is a great framework too. Um, but also.

• 1:02:35Cameron Hanes?

You know, when we get closer to death, it might might mean even a little more. But uh, I was just curious because of how you grew up and I didn't know if uh, you know.

• 1:02:46Cameron Hanes?

How are you still close with your family? I mean.

• 1:02:49Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 1:02:49Cameron Hanes?

Sometimes that can cause rifts in a family.

• 1:02:54Speaker 01

It's we're such a loving family. Like my parents are so loving and. I am too to them that I feel like even if that we have a little bit of a falling out, we all would come back together eventually like. It's it's never been like the whole like talk to my dad 20 years ago thing.

• 1:03:09Cameron Hanes?

  That's good.

• 1:03:10Speaker 01

We're going, he's coming to Dubai with me next week like we are, we are um. I I try to always.

• 1:03:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:18Speaker 01

Rebuild, you know, if there's not a connection with something and it's definitely, you know, like Jehovah's Witnesses want to for life, always, you know, keep their family. Uh Jehovah's Witnesses, so I respect what they want as well, but I also have to respect what I want to.

• 1:03:31Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:31Speaker 01

And I I just try to aim for a good middle ground, you know, with it, but. But yeah, it was definitely hard for a while because I I felt like my parents didn't like what I did because I make a lot of money sometimes, sometimes I lose a lot of money, I lose even more. Um, sometimes, but but uh, you know, what I what I did and what I do is not quite in line with.

• 1:03:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:51Speaker 01

The Christian goals that they had or wanted for me, you know, so I just, I try to just walk a line with it, you know.

• 1:03:59Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, well, I it doesn't surprise me, um, because you are such a respectful young man. I mean, does it's not like you're like went. Overboard the other way, you know, sometimes that happens too. It's like kids grow up very restricted, they feel restricted and then they like going crazy.

• 1:04:16Speaker 01

I'm sure people think I did go overboard the other way quite a lot like, but I always make mistakes.

• 1:04:20Cameron Hanes?

Talking to you, I can tell you you're.

• 1:04:22Speaker 01

  I appreciate that.

• 1:04:23Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:23Speaker 01

Well, like I I know several times I did go overboard the other way, but the only way to learn is to experience something and realize it's not the right thing to do. Um, I think that's how most people learn everything. Uh, so you know, once you make a mistake, you you know the proper way to go about something. But um, yeah, it was definitely a really like harsh learning curve coming out of a religion that. Basically requires you prohibits you from talking to people who are not in the religion. So I had, you believe as a Jehovah's Witness that anyone who's not a Jehovah's Witness is going to be destroyed in hell. Or destroyed by God.

• 1:05:01Speaker 01

And um, you're taught not to talk to other people that are not Jehovah's Witnesses. So when I came out of that life, it was like. Airdropping you on North Sentinel Island. You don't know anybody, you don't know how to talk to them, you don't know what's normal. You are awkward, you have, you feel like a loser.

• 1:05:22Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:22Speaker 01

You feel like you're behind. You know, like, like, that's what it really felt like. So I had a massive learning curve and of course.

• 1:05:29Cameron Hanes?

  School was probably hard.

• 1:05:30Speaker 01

School, yeah, um, because I was one of the very few job witnesses in school.

• 1:05:34Cameron Hanes?

And so you couldn't talk to the other kids?

• 1:05:36Speaker 01

You can, so it's weird. Like, I can, I could talk to the other kids, just like a job's witness at work would talk to their coworkers. But I wouldn't make friends with them.

• 1:05:46Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, I see.

• 1:05:46Speaker 01

So you can have friends, you can have a girlfriend. Yeah, you know, like, it's like only what must be done.

• 1:05:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:52Speaker 01

There's no extracurricular. If they're having a party, I can't go to that party.

• 1:05:54Cameron Hanes?

  I understand.

• 1:05:55Speaker 01

I can only go to a party with other job witnesses. Um, and so although from their perspective, I understand it maybe, but from my perspective, it's never gonna work for me, right? Um, I just, I, I, I believe we have the gift of life where we should leave it to the fullest. You know, in a good way. Um, and so that's just been like, that was a horrific period of my life, like horrific. But I was optimistic throughout it all. I was just like.

• 1:06:21Cameron Hanes?

Being a kid is hard anyway, in high school and going, you know, kids are just brutal to each other, just in general. Then all of a sudden, you have these other set of rules you have to follow.

• 1:06:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:06:32Cameron Hanes?

That, that now that you give the kids something else to make fun of before or something.

• 1:06:38Speaker 01

And it was never like that was a point, they were almost curious about it more, because they were like, that's so weird, you know?

• 1:06:42Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:42Speaker 01

There'd be a birthday and I have to walk out. We don't celebrate birthdays. And, um, or Christmas or any holidays.

• 1:06:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:48Speaker 01

And so they're, you know, the, some of the teachers would like, kind of punish us, like, oh, go in the closet during, it's really weird. Go in the, the bigger closet, but like, go in the closet during like mu- music class and are playing Christmas songs, because we couldn't do Christmas stuff.

• 1:07:00Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:01Speaker 01

Uh, and so it was definitely an outcast feel from the start.

• 1:07:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:05Speaker 01

Um, but yeah, I was just like, I, it's not a life for me. So when I started the YouTube and everything, everybody from the outside is probably like, who is this weirdo, you know, like? Like, I had the weirdest combination of circumstances to lead to where I am.

• 1:07:21Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:22Speaker 01

Um, but that's everybody's, every successful person I feel, you know?

• 1:07:25Cameron Hanes?

  Sure.

• 1:07:26Speaker 01

They've had something that shocked them into just like, I'm never gonna go through that again.

• 1:07:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:30Speaker 01

You know? That you're broke. You can live broke and be okay with it, but when it hurts hits a certain point, it shocks you into like, okay. What's going on? I'm never gonna do this again. I need to get my shit together.

• 1:07:43Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:07:43Speaker 01

Um, yeah. Just the dynamic of living and learning, you know?

• 1:07:48Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it's it's amazing. It's a, I think you've navigated it it well. You said you've had some speed bumps along the way, of course. What you what young person doesn't is they're growing up and learning tough lessons and now you're building this incredible business here. It's just, I I'm blown away at your success, but hearing more of your backstory, it's a. I I love it. I mean, it's just. Like I said, people have challenges anyway, but. You are such an inspiration because of everything you've had to deal with. Just being a human has. There's special circumstances. Everybody wants to lump everybody in a box like, oh, yeah, I I did that too. I had to do that too. Oh, yeah, when I was a kid, this and that.

• 1:08:31Cameron Hanes?

But like your your circumstances are so unique and then your mindset and then dealing with stuff like this, I'm just. I'm just really impressed at your maturity and just like, uh, just. How how you can navigate through stuff like this, but uh, I and I think to me, I think it can really help young men.

• 1:08:51Speaker 01

  Um, thank you.

• 1:08:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, I'm I'm I'm very impressed.

• 1:08:55Speaker 01

Uh, I sometimes I'll scroll through my messages and on Instagram or whatnot. And of course I see my comments, um. There's a surprising amount of each party. That either fully support me and appreciate and see what I do and and see like through the facade of like, oh, I destroy nice things. And they see like my, they maybe they saw my story and my history and my progress throughout it all. And, you know, maybe they look into it more and they really understand, but there's also such a crazily large surprising amount of people who. It does not matter what you do and obviously everybody says this, whatever you do, they look at you as like the scum of the earth, most negative like,

• 1:09:40Speaker 01

like most negative comments ever towards you. Be like, oh, I'm I'm getting married. Screw you. Um, you know, like most positive thing is just like, nothing that anyone wants to see. Um, there's a lot of people like that and it's easy for me for someone who is kind of new to it all in a way, to just be like, oh, like, the world's terrible. Like there's full of so many bad people and I go through these phases where I'll, I'll get a lot of hate and I'll believe it. I'll be like, oh, this is, you know, I don't get stuck in my head, but I get stuck in the thought process of like, negativity and just hatred and people throwing, you know, slander back and forth. But then sometimes I get in the the pattern of,

• 1:10:24Speaker 01

okay, there's an equally large amount of good people that see through it and they understand like, we're all just trying to have a good time and make fun videos.

• 1:10:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:34Speaker 01

Cause I don't know, um, obviously people are sensitive, but they'll see me like, break something on a car, they get mad, they don't have that thing and they think I'm being wasteful. I understand that because from certain perspectives, of course, it looks like that. So I like to understand their side too.

• 1:10:50Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:10:51Speaker 01

Um, but I also try to do things in a creative way, like how much would it take for this to break? The car manufacturers are, dirty pill testing their cars too.

• 1:10:57Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:10:58Speaker 01

Um, yeah, I don't know. And then you got Reddit groups that just, I'm sure you have.

• 1:11:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, oh, no.

• 1:11:05Speaker 01

You've got the anti hunters and all that.

• 1:11:07Cameron Hanes?

No, usually it's the hunters who are the worst. Yeah, it's a, you know, cause they see, like opportunities I've earned. They wish they had them. They don't have them. So they want to talk shit on what I do. You know, or like, oh, I could, if they might say, I could have that success too, if I got to hunt the best places.

• 1:11:27Speaker 01

That's always what it is. Or if I had that much, that much money.

• 1:11:30Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it's usually, it's usually the people that are. The antis or whatever, I don't even care about that. They just don't understand. But it's the fellow hunters that you're like, come on, guys. I I made it. You can make it too. I came from this shit experience. And look, you can do it. And it's but some people, they they don't have that. They, you know, what what is the mindset that they have like there's the uh? I don't, I always get it wrong, but like the restriction or the growth mindset, but there's like this. Uh, what is it when?

• 1:12:03Speaker 01

  Abundance mindset.

• 1:12:03Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, abundance, abundance, or uh, whatever the opposite of abundance is. But when people look at it like, hey, there's not enough for everybody and this guy's taking it all. That's you're just looking through a lens completely different than like how you look through it. And it's really hard for you to understand that type of person, that type of person to understand you. And it's uh, you know, I've heard Nick Saban say this before too, but like a high achiever will never understand. Somebody who doesn't work harder want and that person will never understand the high achiever. So just the way it goes, but yeah, it's uh. You know, I think people, they might see like you're you're you you do. Sort of similar to like Danny Duncan. I had him on my show too. You know who that is?

• 1:12:47Cameron Hanes?

And but he's like, people love to hate him. Like you're you're just like such the you're not trying to, he's trying to be obnoxious half the time. I don't see you doing that, but I think some people like, oh, they're all the same. They're all they're all the same and but he's kicking ass himself too. I it's just like, um, whatever. There's more than one way to do it, I guess.

• 1:13:10Speaker 01

Has a very is created a lot of very interesting careers.

• 1:13:15Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:16Speaker 01

And whatever works for people, they're gonna do it.

• 1:13:18Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:13:18Speaker 01

Um, so you know, if if a guy started a YouTube channel and he made money. Dressing up in funny hats, he's gonna make videos dressing up in funny hats.

• 1:13:30Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:30Speaker 01

Like, that's what he's gonna do.

• 1:13:31Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:13:31Speaker 01

Uh, and thankfully, I've adapted the skill over time to like.

• 1:13:38Speaker 01

Try new things and predict that they will do well and I've really changed what I do. I used to only do videos with trucks. And destroying trucks or doing crazy stuff with trucks. And then I started, you know, um, I did a video like catching thieves, um. A guy stole a bunch of stuff from me and I tracked him down. I went through all the evidence of it and trail camera pictures and everything and tracked him down and got a search warrant, got all my stuff back in person. I did a video with a robot, a humanoid robot. And we just explored like what it can do and I've been able to make some cool new styles of videos, but. Yeah, YouTube is a huge basket of people. It's the new TV, you know, so. It's a huge basket of people. For sure, um, but there's things, there's very unorthodox ways of making money.

• 1:14:22Speaker 01

And it's so easy for people who are going to a nine to five or have a plumbing company. To look at that and hate on it, you know, cause it's like, oh, this guy's just goofing off, right? They also don't see when I lose half a million dollars in a cornfield. You know, like I play big and lose big for sure.

• 1:14:39Speaker 01

But I respect that just as much. I mean, there's, there's actually, I enjoy like doing work with my hands just as much, you know. As long as it's not a negative twenty degrees.

• 1:14:51Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that, that YouTube rabbit hole, that's actually how Joe Rogan found me. So I, I used to just carry, well, you, you know.

• 1:15:00Speaker 01

  The rock.

• 1:15:01Cameron Hanes?

The rock up the mountain. And so he would like in twenty fourteen sent me a message or tweeted, hey, do you wanna come to LA and? Talk about bow hunting and training and, uh, you know, I had never met him or whatever, but it was just because. He's always on YouTube checking out stuff and he likes, he likes people who do. They don't have to be famous, but do their own thing and do it their own way and, uh, that's, that's how we became friends.

• 1:15:26Speaker 01

Yeah, I, um. I saw your rock videos. The rock period was after the long range bow shooting period.

• 1:15:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:34Speaker 01

And I found I I did the same thing and I one day I was like, you know what? I'm I'm running every day, not every day. I'm gonna try the rock thing.

• 1:15:42Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:15:43Speaker 01

And I would, I I like pick up this rock and I was like, okay, never mind, we're not gonna do the rock, we're not gonna do the rock.

• 1:15:49Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:15:49Speaker 01

Um, but I what I did do is I would have two tents, two dumbbells that I would run with and that really helped my traps and stuff.

• 1:15:54Cameron Hanes?

  For sure.

• 1:15:55Speaker 01

Um, but uh, yeah, I tried the rock. I was like, I don't know how he does the rock.

• 1:15:59Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, the rock sucks.

• 1:16:00Speaker 01

It's brutal, the uh, the shape.

• 1:16:02Cameron Hanes?

  The rock sucks.

• 1:16:03Speaker 01

I have this huge hill here, though, that I I I so as a kid, I would climb mountains with my dad a lot and they would always be climbable mountains for a kid.

• 1:16:12Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:16:13Speaker 01

And I would always look at the big ones and be like, Dad, we need to climb that. He's like, nope, not gonna do it. That's not possible. Like it is, but we'll die. Um, we'd be on family vacation and I'm ten years old and I wanna climb Grand Teton or whatever.

• 1:16:25Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:26Speaker 01

And I always wanted to do it and I made up my mind. Now this year, I'm finally getting a little bit of extra time to spend time with family and like, explore and do what I have always wanted to do. Uh, to mix it in with my career. And I wanted to climb Grand Teton. I didn't know how hard it is. Have you climbed it?

• 1:16:42Cameron Hanes?

  No, I haven't.

• 1:16:43Speaker 01

I didn't know how hard it is to climb Grand Teton.

• 1:16:44Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it's right there out of uh, Jackson, right?

• 1:16:47Speaker 01

  Yeah, it's the big one.

• 1:16:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:48Speaker 01

  And it's, it's a technical mountain.

• 1:16:50Cameron Hanes?

  Hmm.

• 1:16:51Speaker 01

  I chat GPT'd.

• 1:16:54Speaker 01

What's the best mountain to climb with my uh, friends for a YouTube video?

• 1:16:57Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:57Speaker 01

Um, here's some of the biggest ones. Grand Teton. That sounds good. And I didn't know that Grand Teton is like hundred foot rappels.

• 1:17:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:17:05Speaker 01

It's anchors. It's like fifty people have died. Um, but I'm like, alright, we're gonna do it. And I I practiced and trained a bunch. I climb my hill here. We I have a backpack. I load twenty, thirty, forty, fifty, sixty pounds into it. Climb it every day in the heat, hot summer heat. My buddy and I would, we're prepping for the Grand Teton climb. And I'm like, alright, we need a third person to just go with us for like a funny character. So I had Josh Bomar come.

• 1:17:29Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, okay.

• 1:17:29Speaker 01

And he um, I almost, I had him get hold of you for the second episode. I think you were busy with something.

• 1:17:35Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:17:36Speaker 01

  And um,

• 1:17:37Cameron Hanes?

Oh, I think he did. Send me a text.

• 1:17:39Speaker 01

Yeah, we did another one and he couldn't make it.

• 1:17:43Speaker 01

And um, so we, we all climb it and we're like, none of us had climbed something that big before. It was insane. It's just a massive, massive mountain. And we're like all loaded up. Most people go for speed because you can do it a day if you're really fast. And we're just thinking it's like this massive, we load up our packs and we're just drudging up the hill and everyone's running by us. And we're like, people are passing us like, where are you guys going? We um, we didn't have like camping permits or anything and um,

• 1:18:16Speaker 01

we ended up hearing this loud, I was recording, I picked up my camera, we hear this loudest, did you see my video? It's okay, I post a lot. We have, we hear the loudest like fighter jet.

• 1:18:27Cameron Hanes?

  I'm a different generation.

• 1:18:31Speaker 01

  Yourself too, it's okay.

• 1:18:36Speaker 01

I'm not on YouTube as much, but I uh, we hear the loudest fighter jet flying over. And I'm like, what, what is that? What is, it's like an evening, super calm and quiet. Half the mountain face is collapsing. Like, there's, there's um, might be able to pull it up, there's, there's like this massive cliff, cliff just collapsing. And um, the rocks are coming towards us, like up the hill. And like, I'm talking a hundred foot tall boulders, like half the hill. And I'm like, get down, get down, get down. We're screaming like, there's, it's going towards the trail where people are walking. And uh, I couldn't see over the crest where it's going, but yeah, we bailed that night because we had four of them. We heard four of them. We bailed. Uh, yeah, we're at rock slides and um, I was like.

• 1:19:22Cameron Hanes?

Oh, you mean after the jets flew like four different times?

• 1:19:24Speaker 01

Not jets, that's what the rock slide sounded like.

• 1:19:31Cameron Hanes?

  That's scary.

• 1:19:32Speaker 01

  It was horrifying.

• 1:19:33Cameron Hanes?

  That's scary.

• 1:19:33Speaker 01

Um, and so we bail, we run down, we're like falling down the mountain trying to get away because the cliffs are all above us and they're collapsing.

• 1:19:42Speaker 01

So I'm like, I'm still gonna summit. So I go home, I train up, and I come back a week later. And I climbed the mountain with two guides that we met on the way down that night.

• 1:19:52Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:19:52Speaker 01

I climb it again. We start at midnight, we climb it. It was the most miserable, horrendous, insane climb of my life. It was snowing on the way up in the middle of summer. I have this massive backpack. I am cramping up. I've never climbed a mountain this big. It's technical. I know nothing about ropes or anything. No joke, when I got to the top of that mountain, I cried. I literally cried. I FaceTimed my mom and everything. I had Signal up there. And I cried. I was like, this is the most rewarding moment ever. And uh, I'm gonna do it again for sure, but it was fun.

• 1:20:22Cameron Hanes?

How long did it take? Like, could you leave like, what, at two in the morning or something like that?

• 1:20:26Speaker 01

Yeah, it was an eighteen hour hike.

• 1:20:27Cameron Hanes?

Eighteen hour to get to the summit?

• 1:20:29Speaker 01

The record's three. I did an eighteen. That's how bad I was. My, the, the guides I went with were like, run ahead like you would. And I'm just like, oh.

• 1:20:38Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, it's, well, what does it get up to? Thirteen thousand?

• 1:20:41Speaker 01

Uh, that is thirteen thousand three hundred or something.

• 1:20:43Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that's hot. That air's thin up there.

• 1:20:45Speaker 01

Yeah, and I wasn't used to them from here, so I was like, not used to it.

• 1:20:48Cameron Hanes?

Is it, was it Michael Sensory or what's his? Yeah, that's who has the record, right?

• 1:20:53Speaker 01

  Yeah. Oh, you know him?

• 1:20:55Cameron Hanes?

Well, that's the guy who got arrested.

• 1:20:57Speaker 01

  Oh, okay. Yeah, same trail.

• 1:20:59Cameron Hanes?

Who, who Trump had to pardon. Yeah, so I think, I think he was setting the FKT, which is fastest known time. And if they said it was three hours, it's probably him. I don't know. But anyway.

• 1:21:11Speaker 01

Yeah, I know he was trying to. He was trying to, yeah.

• 1:21:13Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:21:14Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:21:15Cameron Hanes?

But yeah, if you cut the switchbacks apparently, that's, you're going to prison.

• 1:21:19Speaker 01

Yeah, so what I started doing after I heard about that, I um, I lock my doors during the day and every weekday I stay inside. I don't enjoy nature. I stay inside. And then I, I canceled all my national park trips. Um, I uh, I watch national parks on the TV actually.

• 1:21:34Cameron Hanes?

  That's much better.

• 1:21:35Speaker 01

And then I have a treadmill. Instead of climbing real mountains, I do that so I don't go to prison. Cause I don't wanna get arrested.

• 1:21:39Cameron Hanes?

  And you wear a mask?

• 1:21:40Speaker 01

Yeah, I'll do a VR headset and I pretend I'm climbing it. So I don't have to worry about going to prison. Yeah, I wear a mask too, cause I don't wanna get COVID in here. Oh, we can't say that on YouTube.

• 1:21:49Cameron Hanes?

That's a good approach. Yeah, that's very safe and very responsible. Yeah. No, uh, well, that's, I mean, that's a real mountain. That's amazing. That's.

• 1:21:59Speaker 01

That's the biggest one I've climbed. And then my dad and I did one in Colorado. Have you heard of Navajo Mountain? It's, there's a plane crash up in there. Big old plane crash from way back when. The remnants are all still there.

• 1:22:10Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:22:11Speaker 01

He's never climbed a mountain like this.

• 1:22:12Cameron Hanes?

  Is it fourteen thousand?

• 1:22:13Speaker 01

  It's eleven.

• 1:22:14Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, how much?

• 1:22:15Speaker 01

  Ten or eleven.

• 1:22:15Cameron Hanes?

  Ten or eleven, yeah.

• 1:22:16Speaker 01

And, uh, it was really bad weather and he, I was like, Dad, we're gonna climb the big mountain now. And we did it and it was the, the ranger, we had to get a parking pass for this huge parking lot. We show up at three in the morning. For everyone else, it's empty. He wouldn't let us park there. I dropped my dad off. I drive four miles back to the public road and I jog four miles up to the starting point.

• 1:22:36Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:37Speaker 01

To start with my dad. We climbed all day, see a bunch of moose. It was amazing together. It was all he could do to make it. And, um, we finally did the big mountain together. And on the way back down, we get to the bottom and he's like, "Ask these fans, ask these kids if we can get a ride back to the car." "'Cause we're not gonna walk four miles back."

• 1:22:55Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:22:55Speaker 01

And these kids knew me, the last people, and we got a ride and I'm like, I'm sure, I'm sure the car was here. We drove and drove and drove and they're like, "Dude, you parked all the way down here to start this trail?" Uh, but I finally did the big mountain, so I'm, yeah.

• 1:23:07Cameron Hanes?

  That's good.

• 1:23:08Speaker 01

But I know you do that like every day.

• 1:23:10Cameron Hanes?

Oh, no, no, we, we don't have, uh, in Oregon, we don't have mountains quite like Colorado, but I've done, uh, one of my friends lives in Leadville, which is ten thousand feet back there in Colorado and there's, I think there's like sixty some, fourteen thousand foot peaks in Colorado. We've done six of them. So we'll, we'll run up those. Like the, the biggest one is Mount Elbert. I think it's fourteen thousand three something. But we've done that, done some other ones. But normally in Oregon, like eighty-five hundred is a good one that I go and do all the time. Or not all the time, sometimes.

• 1:23:46Speaker 01

  Yeah, Oregon's out there.

• 1:23:47Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, is uh, when did you and your dad do that?

• 1:23:50Speaker 01

Uh, that was right before the climbing season ended.

• 1:23:53Cameron Hanes?

  Okay, so this year?

• 1:23:54Speaker 01

  This, yeah.

• 1:23:55Cameron Hanes?

  How old is he now?

• 1:23:56Speaker 01

I did three mountains this summer. I did one with my girlfriend, I did one in the Grand Teton, and then one with my, with my dad.

• 1:24:00Cameron Hanes?

  How old's your dad?

• 1:24:01Speaker 01

  Uh, fifty-five, I think.

• 1:24:02Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:24:03Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:24:03Cameron Hanes?

  He's younger than me, dude.

• 1:24:05Speaker 01

  How old are you?

• 1:24:05Cameron Hanes?

  Fifty-eight.

• 1:24:06Speaker 01

Oh, wow. No, you are so in shape, man. So, you're never gonna be out of shape.

• 1:24:11Cameron Hanes?

Your dad's, your dad's younger than me. That's crazy. Yeah.

• 1:24:15Speaker 01

Um, you, you have one kid?

• 1:24:17Cameron Hanes?

  Three.

• 1:24:18Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:24:18Cameron Hanes?

  So I got a, my oldest, I think, is thirty-one or thirty-two, then Truitt, who's a pull-up kid, and then my daughter's twenty-two.

• 1:24:27Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:24:28Cameron Hanes?

  So, yeah.

• 1:24:28Speaker 01

  Nice, nice, nice.

• 1:24:29Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:24:30Speaker 01

  I don't have a, I don't have a wife or kids yet, but I have a

• 1:24:32Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:24:33Speaker 01

A girlfriend in Dubai. She's Russian.

• 1:24:36Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 1:24:37Speaker 01

Turned to Dubai, and um, I hope we can get married soon.

• 1:24:41Cameron Hanes?

Did you meet her in Indiana there?

• 1:24:42Speaker 01

  Um, no, no.

• 1:24:46Speaker 01

  That's Instagram.

• 1:24:47Cameron Hanes?

  Um. I was joking.

• 1:24:49Speaker 01

So, uh, Youshen roshigavidi paruski seshes.

• 1:24:52Cameron Hanes?

  What's that?

• 1:24:53Speaker 01

  I'm learning Russian.

• 1:24:54Cameron Hanes?

  What's that? Say it again.

• 1:24:57Cameron Hanes?

  What does that mean?

• 1:24:57Speaker 01

Now I can speak Russian very good.

• 1:24:59Cameron Hanes?

What is that? Oh, that, okay, that's what that means.

• 1:25:01Speaker 01

  Yeah, so.

• 1:25:01Cameron Hanes?

  That's how much I know.

• 1:25:02Speaker 01

Yeah, well, so, yeah, crazy. I, I, I guess I end up in the most culture shock situations now, but.

• 1:25:08Cameron Hanes?

The closest to Russia, I, I saw, I watched John Wick.

• 1:25:12Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:25:12Cameron Hanes?

So, I think that's it. They speak Russian, right? Isn't that?

• 1:25:16Speaker 01

Can I get a water, please?

• 1:25:17Cameron Hanes?

The guy who killed his dog, wasn't he Russian?

• 1:25:19Speaker 01

Ah, I don't remember. Probably. They're always portrayed as the bad guy's ass, or, or all the, do Russians look at Americans as the bad guys?

• 1:25:25Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah, what'd she say?

• 1:25:26Speaker 01

  I think she said, yeah.

• 1:25:27Cameron Hanes?

Yeah. Well, anytime I think of Russia, I'm always like, uh, Dagestan, cause that's where Khabib's from. And those guys are just freaks, as far as training in the mountains.

• 1:25:38Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:25:39Cameron Hanes?

And just, yeah, so, it just seems like they're super tough.

• 1:25:42Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:25:42Cameron Hanes?

And, uh, always killers in movies.

• 1:25:45Speaker 01

  For sure.

• 1:25:46Cameron Hanes?

  So.

• 1:25:46Speaker 01

  Russians are crazy, for sure.

• 1:25:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:25:48Speaker 01

They got a, a very cool, like, traditional culture there, too.

• 1:25:52Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:25:52Speaker 01

  I wish I could go.

• 1:25:54Cameron Hanes?

  You can't go.

• 1:25:54Speaker 01

There's a lot going on, you know?

• 1:25:55Cameron Hanes?

Oh, yeah, right. Can, has she been back here?

• 1:25:58Speaker 01

  Uh, no, she can't. So.

• 1:26:00Cameron Hanes?

  Where'd you guys?

• 1:26:01Speaker 01

That's my lovely life situation right now.

• 1:26:02Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, I see.

• 1:26:03Speaker 01

I'm going to Dubai in two weeks with my dad, uh, for him to meet her.

• 1:26:06Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:26:07Speaker 01

I, uh, because she cannot come to America, and understandably, immigration is very strict.

• 1:26:11Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:26:12Speaker 01

Totally understand it. Uh but because she cannot come to America, every month I fly to Dubai. Twenty hours each way. I moved her to Dubai because I can't go to Russia, so we have a place in Dubai. And it's a lovely place, I like Dubai too. But every month I go, I spend one or two weeks there and I fly all the way back. We have applied for a fiance visa, it's a year out minimum.

• 1:26:34Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, I see.

• 1:26:34Speaker 01

  So she can't live here.

• 1:26:36Cameron Hanes?

So what if you got married?

• 1:26:39Speaker 01

Uh marriage visa is a year out too. Big old stack and we're at the bottom. So it's it's been a huge learning curve, like I have had to start a new life there. I've had learned to do business there. I was living in Airbnbs again, like I just felt like I had everything here and then started from zero there again. And um as much as it sounds like a first world problem, like oh you know, oh. Boo hoo, you gotta fly to Dubai. It is so hard. When this is where my business is, you know, when I'm in Dubai, I make zero dollars. I'm losing money, I was living in Airbnbs, I don't know how anything works there. Uh I got horribly sick to like near death one time, like I got a horrible sickness on the plane.

• 1:27:24Speaker 01

And I'm just like in a hotel in Dubai, like suffering, not make, losing money. Uh it's definitely been very hard, very, very hard. Just because I like I wanna put her first. And also be successful in my business. So it's been very hard.

• 1:27:42Cameron Hanes?

  Getting easier back there?

• 1:27:45Speaker 01

  Fifteen.

• 1:27:48Speaker 01

It's getting a little easier though, now that I got some good friends there, bro, there's so many good people there. So many good people. It's a really cool place. Not much nature.

• 1:27:58Cameron Hanes?

Isn't that where the UFC has fights sometimes?

• 1:28:01Speaker 01

Uh no, I know Andrew Tate has like a fight coming up there.

• 1:28:05Speaker 01

But uh I I'm not sure, I'm not sure.

• 1:28:07Cameron Hanes?

They do something over there. I can't remember if it was.

• 1:28:11Speaker 01

They invite a lot of. Uh performance culture, performing arts. They they love to.

• 1:28:18Cameron Hanes?

  Comedians a lot.

• 1:28:19Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, they love. Yeah, I know that. They love to to have performing arts out there. And just have all the cool. You know, biggest and best of everything, it's it's a cool place to go.

• 1:28:34Speaker 01

  But uh.

• 1:28:35Cameron Hanes?

You do any car videos over there yet?

• 1:28:37Speaker 01

Uh, no, they have very interesting vehicles, but I wanna do, I'm doing a Porsche GT3 durability test out there.

• 1:28:43Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:28:44Speaker 01

So, uh, we're pulling locations for it and permits and everything. I wanna do it legally.

• 1:28:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:28:48Speaker 01

That's the thing, uh, the bigger profile you get, the more Ts and Is you gotta dot and cross.

• 1:28:53Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:28:54Speaker 01

And, um, cause they will, whoever doesn't like you will look for the slightest little nuance or something you forgot.

• 1:29:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:29:02Speaker 01

  And this happens.

• 1:29:03Cameron Hanes?

  Well, yeah.

• 1:29:04Speaker 01

Or, or you did everything right and this happens, you know?

• 1:29:07Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:29:07Speaker 01

Which I think is the case. Um, but, but, uh, yeah, it's, it's as, uh, you know, the, I don't know if you've been sued, but, um, the bigger you get, obviously there's a massive target for people to bring you down for no reason at all. And

• 1:29:25Speaker 01

I hope no one sues me cause they're not gonna get any money, cause I don't have it. You know, like I, I, um, I have what I need to accomplish the goals I wanna accomplish that cost just as much, right? So like, like I might do something that looks crazy, but I had just enough money to do that crazy thing.

• 1:29:41Cameron Hanes?

  You're funding these projects.

• 1:29:41Speaker 01

I'm pushing everything to the limit of what I can do, what I can think of, my imagination, like this room next to us, I'll show you after. I have the walls, every square inch of the walls has ideas written down, big ideas, like private jets and all this. Things I wanna do, things that are ten years in the future, maybe. That are gonna take everything we have to do it. Most of it I can't even do right now. And, um, I, I had sworn when I hit 10 million subscribers, I'm gonna do a Bugatti durability test.

• 1:30:07Cameron Hanes?

  Oh, nice.

• 1:30:08Speaker 01

Three million dollar car. You know when I promised I would do that? I had a hundred dollars in my bank account. Three years ago, four, five years ago.

• 1:30:16Cameron Hanes?

  That's awesome.

• 1:30:16Speaker 01

And like it was dreaming so big. I was like, that's never gonna happen. The idea of dreaming that big is what brought me here to do those things. Um. And and um, you know, someday when I actually do have like a substantial cash flow to do it, I I really wanna adapt in a way that helps people in need, you know, but you can't help people in need if you can't help people in need, like if I have to have a dollar before I can help my friend, you know?

• 1:30:44Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:30:44Speaker 01

Uh, the same as like, put your mask on if your airplane crashes before you help others.

• 1:30:48Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:30:48Speaker 01

Like, what good am I if if I'm some loser who has nothing, you know? Um, like my my idea of success monetarily is if my friends or family are in a difficult spot, that money is freedom. It's like, you're sick, I can help heal you. You are in in debt, I can help free you, or like,

• 1:31:10Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:31:10Speaker 01

you're losing your home, we can take care of that.

• 1:31:12Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:13Speaker 01

Um, your car breaks down, no problem, we'll send a helicopter. That's where I wanna get.

• 1:31:17Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:31:18Speaker 01

Um, I I like that is my goal financially, a hundred percent.

• 1:31:22Cameron Hanes?

No, that's, uh, I feel the same. I mean, it's, I like to, I like, I like to have, the more money I have, the more I can give away. That's what I like to do. It's just like, um, yeah, and it feels good. And then it reminds me like, uh, when covid was going around, my wife got, did get really sick, and Joe, Joe said, uh, he's like, oh, I'll just have, you couldn't get like, God, what the hell was that?

• 1:31:49Speaker 01

  Stem cells?

• 1:31:50Cameron Hanes?

No, it wasn't stem cells. It, no, it was, uh, um, well, ivermectin too, or ivermectin, wait, what the is it again? ivermectin, uh, what the, oh, the antibodies. Like, remember they're doing the the antibodies? You couldn't get them because they were like, they actually help people. So the doctors, medical industry were like, oh, no, that actually would help people. We don't want that. So you can't get them now? Joe sent like this nurse team and they came down and gave her the ana- the monoclonal antibodies is what they were, and she got better like in a day.

• 1:32:26Speaker 01

  That's

• 1:32:26Cameron Hanes?

But the point was, it's like, who knows how much that costs to have a doctor come remote? We don't even, you know, he lives in Texas, we live in Oregon. But to me, that is like, that's what I wanna be able to do. When my friends or somebody, and that's kinda what you just alluded to, is like if somebody needs help, I can help you.

• 1:32:43Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:32:44Cameron Hanes?

That's what this is all for. It's just like, yeah, it's nice to win and like I said, I like to have those goals and achieve them. But I also like just to give and and help people.

• 1:32:53Speaker 01

Yeah. Um, it's easier for people to look at it in a selfish way, like, oh, you have all this.

• 1:32:58Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:32:59Speaker 01

But but at the same time, everything I have here, I use for my business to to grow. And um, I wouldn't consider myself a hoarder by any means. My savings account is nothing to look at and special. Um, but but yeah, like I um, I love being in a position where my. What I have monetarily, I view as a freedom amount.

• 1:33:22Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:33:22Speaker 01

Where if my car breaks down, I don't have to walk three miles to the gas station now, you know? Like, that allows me the freedom to continue my day, even though there's adversity in the in the path. Um, and if you're in a situation you don't like, you can get out of that. Um, that's a benefit of money. So I I view it as freedom. Um, I don't view it as like. A lot of people see what I do and I love nice things. Like I have a carbon fiber cowboy hat that's made by hand. Like, I love cool, nice things, but that's like not what life is about. If I post my nice things, it's not to flex it to show, oh, I have this.

• 1:34:04Speaker 01

I do it in a way that's like, you can have this. And this comes from. This this is uh, like, this might be a nice car that people look at as a symbol and they love it. Um, it's a symbol of like wealth or something. I view it as.

• 1:34:22Speaker 01

An experience that I can experience now in life because I worked to achieve it. Um, like money is freedom and experiences and being able to do the things that that you wouldn't have been able to do. Money is life. You know, like, it's very hard to enjoy a life with no money. Uh.

• 1:34:41Speaker 01

In some cases, like you can go enjoy nature.

• 1:34:44Cameron Hanes?

  Not, yeah.

• 1:34:45Speaker 01

But but the day that you get sick or get in a car crash and your leg is amputated. That costs money, you know, like like you can get in a, okay, a healthy person can enjoy life in no money. But you know, the day that it hits the fan. That money can buy your life back.

• 1:35:00Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:35:00Speaker 01

  You know, that's what's important.

• 1:35:02Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:35:03Speaker 01

I don't think life is all about money.

• 1:35:04Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, and another thing I think, you know, depending on how this girlfriend thing goes with you, but uh and getting married and family. Another thing money does for me is I can help my kids if my kids need, you know, to get into a house or need a car issues. So yeah, it's like it goes beyond to where right now, what I see with you, though, is you're accumulating. Or I don't know if you're accumulating anything, you're like basically just living dreams and visions you have, but you have employees. I see a lot of people here working and that feels good. It feels good to pay people, right, to to do what they enjoy doing or. Uh help you achieve what you want to achieve and you're able to hire people and do that, that takes money also.

• 1:35:46Cameron Hanes?

So you're, you know, giving people careers essentially to help you achieve whatever vision you have. And then pretty soon that'll go into your family and kids and things like that. So yeah, that money does. I mean, that's.

• 1:35:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:36:00Cameron Hanes?

It takes takes money to do all that.

• 1:36:02Speaker 01

Yeah, I think I think it's a, it's easy to fall into the trap um of a non-abundance mindset where you you. Look at nice things and you think it's all selfish and conceited, you know, from from any perspective. See a random person you don't know at all, they have something nice, it's easy to look at that as they think they're better than me. And that exact mentality is exactly what keeps you in that position. That's what kept me in that position. Till I realized that almost every single person that had something I didn't have was such a loving, amazing person. And I I met them and talked to them and they they they're like, they want to get back to like. Bro, we gotta, we gotta hang out and do this together and this.

• 1:36:40Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:36:40Speaker 01

It's like, that's why they're there, cuz they view everybody as a positive uh connection and. You know, we're all a family and a good network, like that's the way to look at it. And when you look at that as a negative thing. You would close yourself off from all the good people that could.

• 1:36:54Cameron Hanes?

  Help you sabotage yourself.

• 1:36:55Speaker 01

The good people are the people, most of mostly, you know.

• 1:36:58Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:36:58Speaker 01

Are are the people that are doing the things that you're looking at is is like negative, you know.

• 1:37:03Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, that's, I mean. That's one thing that the most successful or one of the most successful people I know is Joe Rogan. And it's like I've seen his generosity firsthand and I've I didn't understand that either coming from a small town. Where it was like everyone's competition. It's just like if you won, that means I couldn't win. You took something from me because there wasn't, there's only so much to go around. Where he, he told me, he's just like, he goes, dude, he goes, there's enough cake for everyone. We're not running out of cake. And like that mindset changes everything. And as cliche as it sounds, you know, the Bible will talk about this, but the more you give, the more you receive. And it's like, you can't think like you're keeping track like, oh, I gave this much, I should be getting this much back.

• 1:37:48Cameron Hanes?

But when you just do things because just being generous because you love for your fellow man. Somehow for some reason, and it's just that energy you're talking about, it comes back. You are rewarded, not because you have the goal of being rewarded, just because you're living the right way. And you're generous and you believe in people and you want to help people succeed. That is an energy that is, that's rewarded in this universe. If you want to look at it religiously or through the Bible or through just being a good person, that's just how it works.

• 1:38:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:38:18Cameron Hanes?

And I've learned that, you know, it took me a lot longer than you to learn that. But I have learned that over time, just from people like Joe and people that you, you know, the successful people you meet. You see that they exhibit that too. And they're like, no, we can all, can all achieve. But I love it.

• 1:38:36Speaker 01

I, I know what you're saying. When you, when you said that about the small town feeling like there's not enough to go around. And everybody's competition. I lived that game for a long time when I started though. And I was, it was a bloodbath. It was cut throat. Anybody who caught my, who, anybody who caught my line of sight was competition.

• 1:38:56Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:38:57Speaker 01

It was. It was like, um, it was like clawing against a wall to climb up, you know, like, like at all costs. I never screwed anybody over, but I was like, I see you too, and I'm gonna be ahead. And that, that is a good attitude to have, you know, in a, in a loving way, though, you know, like, like, I love you just as much, I want you to succeed too. That's the attitude that you need to have, right? So like, do it, do it at all costs, in a good way, but hope that they can succeed too. I think that's, that's the attitude.

• 1:39:27Cameron Hanes?

Mine wasn't like that for a long time, is, is, you know, that small town, it's like, it's usually not, you know, I think if somebody makes it out,

• 1:39:40Cameron Hanes?

I don't know, I mean, there's people who don't want you to make it out, because then it kinda, then they have to look themselves in the mirror. And there's like, well, if he made it, why can't I? And then it makes, then you have to be self-reflection, right? You have to be like, well, what, am I doing something that's causing me to, to not get these same opportunities? And nobody wants to do that. Cause they wanna say like, oh no, well, he's, he's an ass kisser, or he whatever, or took a shortcut, or it's just like, or maybe you could just work harder.

• 1:40:08Speaker 01

Yeah, I've, I've spent a long time reflecting and dissecting these dynamics of how, what, like, visual success is high, highly subjective. Um, you know, you can look at someone and not know their story, and it's easy to think one thing or the other. But I've, since doing social media, it's really easy to just measure success on numbers, and you see someone else, you put in a ton of work, and they get more numbers, more views. Um, that's just success in the social media world, or in real life, maybe it's a car you're driving. The second you start watching them, you fall behind. Because you're, you, it's, it's that, like nuance of, why are they there and I'm not? I deserve this. As long as I

• 1:40:53Cameron Hanes?

  The focus is wrong.

• 1:40:54Speaker 01

Keep the momentum, I stay focused on what I want.

• 1:40:56Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:40:57Speaker 01

I know it's there. It's no different than the illustration. You're driving a certain direction. If you're watching that person, you're gonna crash. Just stay focused on your goal. You know the path to get it. Focus on the next step every time. Who cares what they're doing? They have the same goal. They might have just started earlier. Like, I know I'll achieve it. The more I focus and I keep the rolling momentum.

• 1:41:18Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:41:19Speaker 01

  I'm good.

• 1:41:19Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:20Speaker 01

You know? And the second that I go all up my head, like, why is this person there already? Uh, you view them as competition. View it as a negative thing.

• 1:41:27Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:41:28Speaker 01

It's, I've just gone through that equation so many times and it works every time. Just focus on the end goal. If I need to pivot, I'll pivot, you know?

• 1:41:36Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:41:37Speaker 01

  Pay attention to that. But

• 1:41:39Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:41:39Speaker 01

Don't, don't like get all in your head about someone else achieving what you wanted.

• 1:41:43Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:41:43Speaker 01

  You know?

• 1:41:44Cameron Hanes?

  Just keep working hard.

• 1:41:45Speaker 01

  Um.

• 1:41:46Cameron Hanes?

  Head down, focused.

• 1:41:47Speaker 01

And everybody has different circumstances. Maybe you have a life situation that prevents you. A family might keep you from getting something that a single guy has already. You know, it's, there's nothing wrong with that. You know, you have different circumstances. Just, do you want the family? You know, like, pay attention to that, too.

• 1:42:04Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, I mean, you know, again, on my own personal experience, I know, so people could say, well, I have a family, so I have other responsibilities that this kid doesn't have, that's why he's able to do this. To me, having the family changed, gave me focus. Like, I was just an idiot, getting drunk, doing stupid shit. And then I had a kid and I'm like, okay, now I gotta get serious. So, yeah, you could say that, uh, well, it's negative because I have these other people relying on me. To me, it was, it changed my life as a positive.

• 1:42:37Speaker 01

  Totally agree.

• 1:42:37Cameron Hanes?

You know? And that's just like, so that's just how you perceive it. That's to your point. It's just like, how are you looking at this? Is it a blessing or is it a curse?

• 1:42:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:42:45Cameron Hanes?

If it's a blessing, it's just a whole different thing. And it's the same circumstance, but it's just how you navigate that.

• 1:42:53Speaker 01

Yeah. I think it all comes down to just realizing everybody, um, like, like, they have their goal, you have your goal. Work on what you want.

• 1:43:01Cameron Hanes?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:43:02Speaker 01

You know? Work together. View everybody as an inspiration or, you know, someone to, to look after if they're in the spot you want to be. Just

• 1:43:09Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:43:09Speaker 01

Look at what they're doing. How can you, how can you? Pull aspects out of that and apply it, you know?

• 1:43:15Cameron Hanes?

That's it. Yeah, that was my whole book called Out or Undeniables on outliers. It's like I just try to take the the best of whatever industry athletics, business, science. And like, okay, what do they do that I could do? Like what aspect? I'm not going to be a neuroscientist like Huberman, but there's something he does that I can use. And so that's that's what we take these nuggets from. That's a beautiful part of being a human. It's just like you can take nuggets from other people who have been crushing it. And you can do that same thing yourself.

• 1:43:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:43:47Cameron Hanes?

Copy it, whatever. Just put put your own spin on it. And that's like, to me, that's what a gift. You know, to be to have this opportunity to sit and and talk to you and get into your mind and and maybe take from some of the lessons you've learned. I can use those and.

• 1:44:05Speaker 01

Yeah, the small town mindset of everyone's competition. It also leads you the opposite of what you just said, where that small town mindset would lead me to think, I don't want to give up my secrets.

• 1:44:16Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:17Speaker 01

They're my secrets. I learned them. Why would I tell you?

• 1:44:19Cameron Hanes?

I learned them the hard way.

• 1:44:19Speaker 01

Why would I tell you how to make a good YouTube video?

• 1:44:21Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:23Speaker 01

But if everybody was like that, you the trade of information not having the trade is way worse than giving up your secret. It's not a secret, like it will be found out regardless.

• 1:44:33Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:44:34Speaker 01

And I always used to think, why does? Okay, so there is a pro and a con. Why does Mr. Beast explain how people can make good YouTube videos?

• 1:44:41Cameron Hanes?

  Mm hmm.

• 1:44:42Speaker 01

I applied it and I made good YouTube videos. I had a lovely weekend with Mr. Beast and a bunch of friends. And after that weekend, I did triple or quadruple what I had always done.

• 1:44:52Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 1:44:53Speaker 01

  Immediate.

• 1:44:54Cameron Hanes?

Based on what you learned from him?

• 1:44:56Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:44:56Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:44:58Speaker 01

We all we all went to the ski lodge and traded ideas. And I was one of the very few lucky people to be invited. And I was there first and it's just me and Mr. Beast. And he's like, I haven't seen your videos. Let's put one up. And I'm like, oh, yeah, he's gonna love this. Three seconds in. I would have stopped watching it right there. I was like, oh, my gosh, are you serious? But I wasn't mad.

• 1:45:21Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:45:22Speaker 01

I was like, let's see what we can change. And yeah, I applied it. But you know, the difference is. Giving ups, you're not giving up a secret if it works that well. Because only the people that apply it and put the work in. Are gonna use it. That that's the only way it works. So the right people are the ones that are gonna use it in the first place. There's there's not anyone else with four hundred million subscribers. You still have to apply it. So um yeah, that's that's been the biggest key is like I love giving what I know and what I've learned. Because I know that, you know, you still have to apply what that information is. You know, like I want everyone to be successful, but you know, it's just it's just like um it's it's not like.

• 1:46:08Speaker 01

All all success is earned, you know, the right people are gonna get it, you know.

• 1:46:12Cameron Hanes?

What what, why did, after three seconds, why did he say he'd stop watching it?

• 1:46:18Speaker 01

  It was slow.

• 1:46:19Cameron Hanes?

Too slow, cuz I know like if I look on my Instagram reels, like the the click through rate, it's like you got three seconds.

• 1:46:26Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 1:46:26Cameron Hanes?

I mean, it's it, you gotta do something right out of the gate.

• 1:46:29Speaker 01

Um, I've never been like, okay, so short form content doesn't really make money. It it can if there's a sponsor on it, but it's really just the the numbers that it brings. So I never focused too much on it, so I can't give good advice necessarily on it. I I know how. You need something very aesthetically impactful immediately. The biggest key is an open and closed loop. It's what they call an open loop. So when someone starts watching, if I drop a ball. They're gonna watch until the ball hits whatever I dropped it on, right? And that open loop is what creates duration. It's people staying and watching.

• 1:47:01Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:47:01Speaker 01

Um, but YouTube videos, uh, there is a lot, the more you do it and the more you really try to aim for virality and what draws the most numbers. There's so many little tiny aspects that you have to pay attention to. Um, and yeah, he taught me a lot. I I learned so much, um, but it's also constantly evolving. So what worked a year ago doesn't work now.

• 1:47:20Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, well, that's where I I'd have the balloon way out on the target. Cuz that was basically the open, closed loop. It's just like, oh, I'm gonna shoot at this, and then people are gonna be like, is he gonna hit it? Got to watch the video. Yeah, so it's like that. And now I shoot through car windows, but the same thing. People just want to know, oh, is this arrow going to get through the car window?

• 1:47:42Speaker 01

  Right, yeah.

• 1:47:42Cameron Hanes?

And so I get that part of it, too.

• 1:47:46Cameron Hanes?

But yeah, I was just curious because obviously he's, you know, Mr. Beast. He knows what it takes. But it is, when you have 400 million subscribers, there are a different set of rules. You know, I mean, so if you're just on the come up, maybe you got to do something a little bit different than somebody who has 400 million, you know?

• 1:48:04Speaker 01

  Right.

• 1:48:04Cameron Hanes?

I mean, I see like, people say, well, Goggins, he hardly ever posts and he's got, you know, 14, 12, whatever million. I'm like, he's Goggins.

• 1:48:15Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:48:15Cameron Hanes?

  I mean.

• 1:48:16Speaker 01

You have a different set of circumstances.

• 1:48:17Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, so it is a little different, but you can learn from everybody. It's pretty interesting. Did you have any?

• 1:48:26Cameron Hanes?

  No fucking questions this time?

• 1:48:28Speaker 01

  No questions.

• 1:48:29Cameron Hanes?

You don't have a fuck, marry, kill?

• 1:48:34Cameron Hanes?

We always have a, this is confusing for people because you know what fuck, marry, kill is, right?

• 1:48:39Speaker 01

But I got a fiance, so.

• 1:48:42Cameron Hanes?

Yeah, no, but it's usually like not people.

• 1:48:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:48:45Cameron Hanes?

Like we had it with this Olympic runner and she's a writer and a movie producer and I don't know what else. But we had, so you had to, are you going to fuck, marry, kill, running, writing and something? And she couldn't, she was just like, I'm not going to say I'm going to kill running. I'm going to run my whole life. It's just like, it's just part of the game.

• 1:49:05Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:49:07Cameron Hanes?

  So we.

• 1:49:08Speaker 01

Yeah, I'll do whatever messed up questions you have.

• 1:49:10Speaker 02

All right. Fuck, marry, kill. The monster truck? The kill dozer?

• 1:49:18Speaker 02

  Or?

• 1:49:20Cameron Hanes?

The Lambo? Oh, yeah, the Ferrari, yeah, yeah. So fuck, say, yeah, so marry, you're with it for the rest of your life.

• 1:49:28Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:49:32Cameron Hanes?

  That's just for fun, right?

• 1:49:33Speaker 02

It's like a one night stand.

• 1:49:35Cameron Hanes?

And then Kill is like you can never mess with it again.

• 1:49:38Speaker 01

Okay, um, Kill the Kill Dozer. It's just like, it's slow and clunky.

• 1:49:44Cameron Hanes?

Too aggressive with the name. That's what caused the problem on your court thing? Cause you had Kill.

• 1:49:50Speaker 01

  Perhaps.

• 1:49:50Cameron Hanes?

You're gonna go to the court.

• 1:49:51Speaker 01

  Sounds scary, I get it.

• 1:49:52Cameron Hanes?

  It is.

• 1:49:52Speaker 01

Yeah, that thing is a, it has been like, I was like, oh, super easy viral idea. Horribly large amount of fabrication and welding. It's very slow. It's extraordinarily heavy, hard to move anywhere. Costs 30 grand to load it up and haul it.

• 1:50:04Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:50:05Speaker 01

Not fun. It's very cool though.

• 1:50:07Cameron Hanes?

  Right.

• 1:50:07Speaker 01

It's a piece of art that no one else has.

• 1:50:09Cameron Hanes?

So what's the, but what's the return rate on that? Like, when is he gonna, when are you gonna pay for that?

• 1:50:14Speaker 01

As soon as someone shows me where they have a whole shopping mall to demolish. That's when, I'm waiting for it.

• 1:50:20Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:50:21Speaker 01

People are like, oh, I have this house, but it's bigger than the house. So I need, I need a whole, I'm waiting for a small town. There's been some, like a mayor of one place hit me up. He's like, this part of the town's gotta go.

• 1:50:30Cameron Hanes?

  Alright.

• 1:50:31Speaker 01

  I'm in.

• 1:50:31Cameron Hanes?

Well, if you kill it though.

• 1:50:34Speaker 01

I know, I know, but the monster truck, um.

• 1:50:43Speaker 01

That's gotta be the Mary, cause it's like the story of my whole YouTube. That's what I drove when I started and it brought me like, as much as it's impractical, that's not what it's about for me. I don't care how well it performs or whatever. It's the idea of trying no matter what and building something bigger and better and cooler. Like, like that, that truck to me signifies the, every decision that's led to where I am of like, I've built it into something I thought would be crazy and it broke immediately, but then I fixed what broke and it had something good. It's so, it's symbolized a lot for me. Um, it's just been there throughout my whole journey and, uh, one of these days it'll be running good, I hope.

• 1:51:22Cameron Hanes?

  So that was the Mary?

• 1:51:23Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 1:51:24Cameron Hanes?

And also the fuel tanks are like, those are so sick dude.

• 1:51:27Speaker 01

  Yeah, the missiles.

• 1:51:28Cameron Hanes?

  The missiles?

• 1:51:29Speaker 01

We love our dumb shit, man.

• 1:51:31Cameron Hanes?

I love, yeah, that, that is, so I get that. And then, so what are you gonna?

• 1:51:35Speaker 01

  Ferrari, man.

• 1:51:36Cameron Hanes?

Ferrari, yeah, there you go. Do I, I get to drive, do I get to drive that?

• 1:51:39Speaker 01

Bro, have you been in a wreck before?

• 1:51:44Speaker 01

This is a crazy car, bro. Totally though.

• 1:51:45Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 1:51:46Speaker 01

  Totally, you gotta feel it.

• 1:51:47Cameron Hanes?

But should we drive it to Jelly Roll's?

• 1:51:49Speaker 01

  A hundred percent.

• 1:51:50Cameron Hanes?

  And show them?

• 1:51:50Speaker 01

Break it, you buy it though. I'm go, I'm actually going to a steakhouse right after this. We'll go together.

• 1:51:54Cameron Hanes?

  Okay.

• 1:51:56Speaker 01

  It's a very, bro, it's, I'm sure you're into cars.

• 1:51:59Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:51:59Speaker 01

  Yeah, what do you have?

• 1:52:01Cameron Hanes?

  Rented?

• 1:52:01Speaker 01

No, what do you have? Like, do you have any?

• 1:52:04Cameron Hanes?

Oh, like good cars? Like that? No, no. I, I have that pickup. Uh, my wife has a, what is that, a Range Rover? It's, it's like, nothing like-

• 1:52:14Speaker 01

It's such a weird, bro, you know, I used to actually be the person that was like, ah, impractical supercar, whatever. Until I got behind the wheel. And then I was like, I am never, ever, ever-

• 1:52:23Cameron Hanes?

  Really?

• 1:52:24Speaker 01

  Like, yeah-

• 1:52:24Cameron Hanes?

No, I've never been into like a real-

• 1:52:26Speaker 01

  Oh, my gosh, man.

• 1:52:27Cameron Hanes?

Joe had me in his Tesla. I don't know what Tesla it is, but he's just like, okay, you ready? And we were just like, I mean, it is fucking crazy. So, must be something like that.

• 1:52:37Speaker 01

Yeah, it's, it's phenomenal. So, you'll have to see it for sure.

• 1:52:40Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:52:41Speaker 01

We have a Cybertruck. We did the whole durability test. I don't know if you saw, it's all falling apart. He just talked to me. It has nine hundred miles on it still. It's like completely totaled.

• 1:52:50Cameron Hanes?

Oh, real, oh, I heard him talking about that. He was just like, only nine hundred? How's that right? And they're like, whoa, we trailer to the dealer, this, back and forth?

• 1:52:58Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:52:59Cameron Hanes?

  And it's already totaled?

• 1:53:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:53:00Cameron Hanes?

  Yeah.

• 1:53:01Speaker 01

So, we'll see how everything goes. Man, I appreciate the podcast so much. This is, I, just, meeting you and having you in here is like, uh, it's just such a cool full circle moment. Cause like, I followed you for so long and, um, I, I just like, absorbed everything you said. And I did what you did, you know, like I wanted to do it. And like, that was such a good, um, like such a good figure for me to like, look after ten years ago, you know, fifteen, fifteen years ago. Um, it was really, it was a really good time.

• 1:53:32Cameron Hanes?

It's great to meet you. I'm, I'm, like I said, you know, I'm super impressed and, you know, what you, what you've built here is incredible. And for your age, it's just like, I, I don't understand it. Um, but yeah, I'm, I'm super impressed with just you as a human.

• 1:53:46Speaker 01

Thank you. I appreciate that genuinely. Thank you.

• 1:53:49Cameron Hanes?

It's, uh, it's, it's great to be here. And, uh, thank you so much for-

• 1:53:53Speaker 01

  Thank you.

• 1:53:54Cameron Hanes?

  -allowing me and-

• 1:53:55Speaker 01

You're the first, you're probably the first person to come into this room. I, I made it just for this, so.

• 1:53:59Cameron Hanes?

I love it. I love it.

• 1:54:00Speaker 01

The kitchen table that we're about to destroy soon, so.

• 1:54:03Cameron Hanes?

Well, Cody, thank you. I appreciate you.

• 1:54:06Speaker 01

It was nice meeting you finally.

• 1:54:20Speaker 03

Oh! Give me them odds, nobody wants, I'll give you my heart, I carry the work. Give me that impossible task, I'll give you that unbreakable courage. Give me that rise up and that hurt, I'll give you that mindset that I earned. Give me that last question on earth, that I just died, that I endured. Give me them odds, nobody wants, I'll give you my heart, I carry the work. Give me that impossible task, I'll give you that unbreakable courage. Give me that rise up and that hurt, I'll give you that mindset that I earned. Give me that last question on earth, that I just died, that I endured.
