  Woo!

• 2:01H. Foley?

King of the burbs, that guy. King of the burbs.

• 2:03Speaker 01

  Hey, then.

• 2:04H. Foley?

  Um, before we get started.

• 2:07Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 2:08H. Foley?

  I have, um, I don't know if it's sad news, if it's...

• 2:13Speaker 01

Great way to start a comedy podcast.

• 2:16H. Foley?

  Uh, it makes me sad.

• 2:18Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 2:19H. Foley?

To see what's happening. I want to show you a picture. Um, Luke, if you will.

• 2:27H. Foley?

  What is that, Kevin?

• 2:29Speaker 01

Something you found in your belly button?

• 2:32H. Foley?

  No.

• 2:33Speaker 01

  That looks like-

• 2:34H. Foley?

  Dirty fingernails?

• 2:35Speaker 01

Uh, yeah, that looks like, uh, Andre the Giant's thumb.

• 2:41H. Foley?

  The world's smallest cookie?

• 2:44Speaker 01

Uh, it looks like a hand that hasn't been washed in a couple of, couple, two, three weeks. Probably a little bit of fecal matter.

• 2:50H. Foley?

I figured, I figured out a way to shrink down snacks.

• 2:54Speaker 01

So I don't have to chew them. Still the same caloric intake.

• 2:57H. Foley?

Honey, I shrunk that cheese, it's-

• 2:58Speaker 01

Joke's on them. Um, yeah, that's a, I believe it's a regular Oreo. I don't know if you're asking about the filling looks to be speckled. Or if that's just Oreo dust-

• 3:07H. Foley?

  That's just-

• 3:07Speaker 01

From the furious eating that was, was happening prior to this picture being taken.

• 3:13H. Foley?

I hit that with a wet saw, right before.

• 3:14Speaker 01

Yeah, I got a little bit of slurry in there.

• 3:16H. Foley?

Luke, do you concur that that is an Oreo? The regular Oreo?

• 3:19Speaker 02

  I, it looks like it.

• 3:20H. Foley?

Yeah. Well, here's the problem. God damn it, that is a double stuffed Oreo.

• 3:26Speaker 01

  That's crazy. No way.

• 3:27H. Foley?

  Yes, it is.

• 3:28Speaker 01

  No, I can't.

• 3:29H. Foley?

  Yes, it is.

• 3:30Speaker 01

  Listen.

• 3:30H. Foley?

  Can you believe that?

• 3:31Speaker 01

  No.

• 3:32H. Foley?

Can you believe that, man? When we were kids, those things, it was double that. You put two of those together, you didn't know what to do.

• 3:41Speaker 01

I'd love to, I'd love to look in your photo library. It's all just pictures of food you have grievances with.

• 3:50H. Foley?

And screenshots of porn I was watching. That I took by accident.

• 3:54Speaker 01

That's, by accident. I was gonna say, dude, taking screenshots of porn is wild.

• 3:59H. Foley?

Can't remember all these goddamn names?

• 4:01Speaker 01

  That's a great idea, though.

• 4:03H. Foley?

  What?

• 4:03Speaker 01

Not for me, I'm a married guy, but-

• 4:05H. Foley?

  What?

• 4:05Speaker 01

You know what I mean? Screenshot, just to remember-

• 4:07H. Foley?

  So you remember the scene?

• 4:08Speaker 01

A video, a name of something, if you wanna go back to something, you know, yeah, that's all, nothing, yeah.

• 4:12H. Foley?

That's a double stuffed Oreo. Now, listen, man, I, the, the reason I bring this up is we are in decline.

• 4:20Speaker 01

  Yeah, you're not wrong.

• 4:20H. Foley?

  We are in decay.

• 4:21Speaker 01

  We're jammed up.

• 4:22H. Foley?

  I'm aware of that.

• 4:24Speaker 01

  Culturally, we're jammed up.

• 4:25H. Foley?

Yeah, it's like, this is where we're at, man. Oreo? Come on, dude?

• 4:31Speaker 01

You think it's a guy? Oreo, you're fucking doing this to me?

• 4:35H. Foley?

It's somebody. That's a double stuffed Oreo, man.

• 4:39Speaker 01

See if you can find anything on that, Luke. The amount going down.

• 4:41H. Foley?

They're not gonna, it's not gonna be, it's not gonna be in print.

• 4:43Speaker 01

  Well, people, I mean-

• 4:44H. Foley?

You don't write stuff like that. You think they're writing it down, we're cutting it back?

• 4:47Speaker 01

You get fucking whistleblowers. I was working-

• 4:49H. Foley?

  I'm whistleblowing right now.

• 4:50Speaker 01

You're blowing something. Uh, what do you got?

• 4:53Speaker 02

This is a common trend. Uh, many consumers and online reports suggest that Oreo double stuffed cookies have become smaller or less cream filling, often citing shrinkflation.

• 5:02Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's a big thing.

• 5:03H. Foley?

  Shrinkflation.

• 5:04Speaker 01

  They just keep fu-

• 5:05H. Foley?

  But they don't say nothing!

• 5:06Speaker 01

It's like the seats get smaller on an airplane, they fucking jam you up, they add more, they just take, they, they, they get you hooked on it and then they fucking start repealing it.

• 5:15H. Foley?

But it's like, listen, man, I, you know, you wanna have broads driving cars, Italians walking around?

• 5:24Speaker 02

  Uh huh.

• 5:25H. Foley?

  I get it.

• 5:26Speaker 02

  Sure.

• 5:27H. Foley?

You know, but come on, it's gotta stop somewhere.

• 5:30Speaker 02

It's in the Oreo's ear line.

• 5:31H. Foley?

What the hell's happening to it?

• 5:32Speaker 01

I saw some, I saw something pretty interesting.

• 5:35H. Foley?

You wanna have lady doctors, go ahead.

• 5:37Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 5:38H. Foley?

I mean, there's enough going on out there in the world, you doing this shit now?

• 5:41Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 5:42H. Foley?

  What the fuck, man?

• 5:43Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 5:44H. Foley?

Who do you trust? This is crazy!

• 5:46Speaker 01

I know, I know, I know, when I'm looking to trust somebody, I always turn to huge corporations.

• 5:50H. Foley?

  Man, it's fucked up, man!

• 5:51Speaker 01

That's when I, when I need to feel nice and cozy, I tour, I turn to a roomful of fucking, uh, board members.

• 5:57H. Foley?

That just shows you where we're going. Nobody's going to Mars, none of that shit, none, none of that's gonna, if we're doing-

• 6:03Speaker 01

You think it's the same two guys?

• 6:04H. Foley?

I'm saying if we're doing this-

• 6:05Speaker 01

The Oreo guy and the Mars guy?

• 6:07H. Foley?

If we're doing this, you know, wha, wha, wha, what can you believe in anymore, man?

• 6:12Speaker 01

Uh, sure, I think, you know-

• 6:14H. Foley?

  It's fucked up!

• 6:15Speaker 01

I think you might've put a little too much faith in the Oreo as a product and as a company, um, but I just saw something very, I saw something like two days ago, that that's like, and I be, you just, you see something, it even says cream filling, it's more of like a glu, it's the not, there's like no, there, I don't know what it is, but there's no, it's like, mostly like jelly or something.

• 6:38H. Foley?

See, that I'm okay with, I know that when you pull up the, what's inside an Oreo, it's crazy.

• 6:43Speaker 01

That blew my mind, cuz I assumed it was just like frosting.

• 6:45H. Foley?

  Really?

• 6:46Speaker 01

Yeah, I just never thought about it.

• 6:47H. Foley?

Wake the fuck up, you hayseed, it's all chemicals!

• 6:50Speaker 01

You can't, you can't get past them fucking making it smaller to make more money?

• 6:54H. Foley?

  No, I can't!

• 6:55Speaker 01

  Also-

• 6:56H. Foley?

You wanna load it with fucking chemicals, that's fine, but gi, gi, give us what we, what we want, you know?

• 7:00Speaker 01

  Some people want real cream.

• 7:02H. Foley?

Well, that's not gonna happen, man!

• 7:03Speaker 01

Okay, and they're gonna keep getting smaller.

• 7:05H. Foley?

But a double stuffed Oreo, that's, that stood for something, man, cuz you never got them, you only got the regular ones, and every once in a while, you show up at a fat kid's house with a single mom who was barely keeping it together, she would have double-

• 7:19Speaker 01

  We had, we had 'em.

• 7:20H. Foley?

  She-

• 7:21Speaker 01

We had them one time and I gotta be honest with you, it was too much cream filling.

• 7:25H. Foley?

  No, that's-

• 7:25Speaker 01

I know, at the time, dude, I'm talking, this is, whenever they, I meant, I remember being like, "Woo!", like, my fucking, my eyes flickered a lot, I blinked and then blinked again if you catch my drift.

• 7:35H. Foley?

  That's a lot of cream!

• 7:36Speaker 01

Yeah, I was just like, that's, I'm an old, I'm a, listen, I'm a traditional guy, I need it right up the middle. I didn't like, to me, that's where the country, and we, we live in different countries, I get it, me and you, we have different, uh, we have different wants and needs out of, out of what we feel culture should be. The second they start doing the double stuffed and the fucking, the greens, I don't like all of the additional stuff. Give me the straight up the middle, how I like it, that's just me.

• 8:01H. Foley?

If you don't, listen, if you don't want the fucking, the mint, I get that, but double stuffed, come on!

• 8:06Speaker 01

  Nah.

• 8:06H. Foley?

  That's, that's OG, dog!

• 8:08Speaker 01

  That's too, that's too much.

• 8:09H. Foley?

  No.

• 8:10Speaker 01

  I'm telling you, for me.

• 8:11H. Foley?

As a little fat kid who never got double stuffed Oreos, I used to fantasize.

• 8:16Speaker 01

You live in a fucking fantasy world, guy, we're here, there's boots on the ground, we're about to be World War III.

• 8:21H. Foley?

  Because-

• 8:21Speaker 01

This is your fucking problem, hey, crack a newspaper, guy, we're fucking taking, the water's coming in the boat and you're fucking sitting here going, "Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah."

• 8:30H. Foley?

Well, that's why it's even more important to keep these things, to keep our identity as Americans.

• 8:35Speaker 01

Standing at the beach going, "Take me."

• 8:38Speaker 01

  You want it?

• 8:39H. Foley?

As a little fat kid who only got regular Oreos, sometimes, and a lot of time it was that Hydroxy stuff, or whatever that company's name is.

• 8:45Speaker 01

Hydroxy cut, that's fucking amphetamines, maybe that's your problem, actually, now that I think about it.

• 8:50H. Foley?

Whatever they were called, Hydro, whatever, where the one-

• 8:52Speaker 01

  Hydrox.

• 8:53H. Foley?

Yeah, Hydrox, where the one cookie's chocolate and the other cookie's vanilla.

• 8:56Speaker 01

  Wait, I mean-

• 8:57H. Foley?

  That shit was wack.

• 8:58Speaker 01

That stuff sounded like peroxide to me, Hydrox?

• 9:01H. Foley?

Might as well be eating crackers.

• 9:02Speaker 01

Anything with a fucking X in it was not edible to me.

• 9:05H. Foley?

But, you would make your, you would make your, your own double stuffed Oreo with the filling. You'd break the top off, you'd eat that cookie, and you had to be real careful-

• 9:14Speaker 01

That's what rats did to me, fucking-

• 9:16H. Foley?

Then you make your own cookie, you make your own double stuffed, but I used to dream-

• 9:19Speaker 01

What, you grew up in the Dust Bowl, just eat two fucking cookies?

• 9:22H. Foley?

Dream, Kevin, and fantasize, what would it be like to make a double, double stuffed Oreo?

• 9:29H. Foley?

That's what kept me going as a kid.

• 9:30Speaker 02

And they took it away from you.

• 9:31H. Foley?

And they took it away, man. Listen, it ain't saying about me, I'm a 50-year-old man. But what about the kids out there that don't know? They think that's what it is.

• 9:40Speaker 01

Yeah, I would argue, you know, maybe that's good for the kids, that they're not eating that much fucking eh... That much Double Stuffed Cookies.

• 9:49H. Foley?

I'm aware of that, but still, man.

• 9:51Speaker 01

  Yeah, okay.

• 9:52H. Foley?

  If you can't trust Oreo.

• 9:54Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 9:54H. Foley?

It's like, where are we at? Just fucking pull the trigger, what are we doing?

• 9:58Speaker 02

  They really cover their bases.

• 9:59H. Foley?

  Yeah, I'm sure they do.

• 10:00Speaker 02

It's one F in stuffed, so it's not technically stuffed.

• 10:03H. Foley?

  What's up?

• 10:04Speaker 02

And then it's creme, not cream.

• 10:07H. Foley?

  It's one F in stuffed.

• 10:09Speaker 02

  Yeah, it's only one F.

• 10:10H. Foley?

  Oh, Double Stuffed.

• 10:12Speaker 01

  It's not stuffed.

• 10:14H. Foley?

  Double stuffed.

• 10:15Speaker 01

  Yeah, Double Stuffed.

• 10:17H. Foley?

Double Stuffed Oreo, man, you fucking bastard.

• 10:20Speaker 01

That's like shit you'd buy in like fucking Tijuana with the wrong label and shit, you know what I mean? That's like Philippines version of Oreo.

• 10:26H. Foley?

  Oreo jeans?

• 10:27Speaker 01

  Yeah, um...

• 10:28H. Foley?

Man, that is how they do it, isn't it, Luke? And they get away with that. Sure they do, cuz they're greasing somebody's pocket.

• 10:34Speaker 01

I know, but you gotta, you're living in the past, man.

• 10:36H. Foley?

  I know.

• 10:37Speaker 01

You're hung up on a cookie from the 60s, man.

• 10:39H. Foley?

  I know, I know.

• 10:40Speaker 01

You're fucking, there's so much better shit out there than get fucking, like Cookie W- or, listen. I'm a traditional, I grew up, listen, I'd be dunking Oreos all day long. I'm a toll, I'm a fucking Chip Ahoy man myself. If I wanna have a Chip Ahoy, I'll have a Chip Ahoy. It's a deep cut.

• 10:54H. Foley?

Now, let me give that to you. Chips Ahoy, I think they're...

• 10:58Speaker 01

  Chip Ahoy.

• 10:58H. Foley?

  Chip Ahoy.

• 11:01Speaker 01

That's how fucking Seinfeld's dad say. If I want a Chip Ahoy, I'm gonna have a Chip Ahoy.

• 11:06H. Foley?

I think Chips Ahoy, or whatever they're called, is putting more chips in there. So why haven't they fucking let everybody down? Cuz I had a Chip Ahoy recently, man, that thing's packed with chocolate chips.

• 11:18Speaker 01

I gotta push back? I feel like you're having a lot of cookies and it's coming, it's coming out in this argument, that's all I'm saying.

• 11:24H. Foley?

They have them at places that I go, I'm sorry.

• 11:26Speaker 01

Okay, uh... Yeah, I, listen, I think you, uh... I get it, I can get you be upset. I think, I, it's gone.

• 11:36H. Foley?

It's not about me, it's not about me, dog.

• 11:38Speaker 01

It seems to be you're very upset.

• 11:40H. Foley?

Think about your son. Don't you want your son to grow up in a world...

• 11:43Speaker 01

No, there's so much better cookies than fucking Double Stuffed shitty cookies. Oh, they don't even believe in a fucking product no more. They're stepping on it.

• 11:51H. Foley?

  You know what?

• 11:53Speaker 01

Next week they're gonna be coming out with fucking Oreos with fentanyl in them. I gotta stretch this product.

• 11:58H. Foley?

You know what? Forget it. Luke, cut all this. Hey, everybody out there. Bullshit.

• 12:03Speaker 01

  Uh, I mean, yeah.

• 12:04H. Foley?

We need a fucking cultural revolution. We need fucking Nirvana to come back. Somebody like that.

• 12:10Speaker 01

That would be the... You just wanna live when you didn't have any fucking responsibilities.

• 12:14H. Foley?

  No.

• 12:15Speaker 01

Fucking drop acid and take double stuffed Oreos.

• 12:17H. Foley?

But some type of cultural something, man.

• 12:19Speaker 01

I would say that's all a lot of that's happening. You're just very not.

• 12:23H. Foley?

  Where's it happening?

• 12:24Speaker 01

I don't know. There's always been a counterculture of something and things are always changing.

• 12:29H. Foley?

Some bands or something to come back.

• 12:31Speaker 02

When I discovered that Chewy Chips Ahoy though, that was my cultural revolution, maybe.

• 12:36H. Foley?

I'm with you. I remember when they dropped.

• 12:38Speaker 01

  Wait, I can't...

• 12:39Speaker 02

  The red one.

• 12:40Speaker 01

I know, but I think, I'm thinking of the Whole House Soft Batch. Those, those, dude, my stepmom came around, the two things she implemented were those Soft Batch that peel, they were the first ones that peel from the top.

• 12:52H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 12:53Speaker 01

The, the, the Whole House, oh, yeah, you did.

• 12:56H. Foley?

They were so... They were like raw in the center. They had like a salty something in the center.

• 13:01Speaker 01

And they were tiny enough where like...

• 13:02H. Foley?

  Crush them.

• 13:03Speaker 01

Yeah, so that, dude, you dip those in milk, they were, you didn't know what to hap... Those jones, we'd get the big, the big one and they lasted maybe 45 minutes.

• 13:13H. Foley?

  Man.

• 13:13Speaker 01

And that and Velveeta mac and cheese. She introduced those two things. I said, this bro can fucking stick around for a little while.

• 13:20H. Foley?

I tell you what, for making those in a tree, they came out pretty good.

• 13:23Speaker 01

  Those were great.

• 13:24H. Foley?

  Nothing on that!

• 13:24Speaker 01

I mean, what are we fucking, is this Sesame Street? Um...

• 13:29H. Foley?

  Double stuffed Oreos.

• 13:30Speaker 01

  Yeah. Uh...

• 13:32H. Foley?

I could use a manicure too.

• 13:33Speaker 01

  Jesus Christ.

• 13:34H. Foley?

Where do you think that picture's taken?

• 13:36Speaker 01

That looked like in an apartment where the lights are cut off.

• 13:40Speaker 01

That's where it looks like it was taken, dude. That, if you were to send that to me, if I were to stumble across, there's...

• 13:46H. Foley?

It looks like it was in a medical facility.

• 13:48Speaker 01

Yeah, you, that could be, this could be the picture of someone who's about to post it on Facebook, who is schizophrenic. Of going, of going, "You better be either taking away my Creme, and I see how you spell it, I'm not, it goes deeper than it, you're sending packages to the government and shit like that."

• 14:05H. Foley?

  Crumpled up Oreos.

• 14:06Speaker 01

"I'm looking for an attorney to represent me." "Oh, you're in on it, dude."

• 14:10H. Foley?

"I'm Henry Foley, I'd like to speak to the President."

• 14:13Speaker 01

Um, no, I, listen, I agree, that's just what, that's what happens, unfortunately, we live in a fucking, we live in a shit, it's like corporations, everything's bought and fucking paid for.

• 14:21H. Foley?

And don't think I'm an idiot, I know they're not good for you.

• 14:23Speaker 01

Okay. Guys, guys, hold on, stop, Luke, stop.

• 14:27H. Foley?

  I know, I know.

• 14:28Speaker 01

  We're gonna divest this.

• 14:29H. Foley?

Kids shouldn't be eating those things, I get it, it's better, whatever, just saying, man.

• 14:33Speaker 01

I get it, I guess my thing is, and we're very differing, uh, snack-wise, on this.

• 14:39H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 14:40Speaker 01

That to you is like, you indulge in that. Unlike, to me, like, an Oreo now compared, Oreos were great, when you had to go, when your, when your mom went to the grocery store, once every week, and bought snacks, and that's what was available. Now it's like, you live in fucking New York City, you gotta four street, there's like boutique cookie places-

• 15:02H. Foley?

I know, I go to Crumble Cookie, or do whatever.

• 15:05Speaker 01

I'm not even, okay, I don't think you like that idea, by the way you said it.

• 15:09H. Foley?

They got my mom sick, Crumble Cookies, she got stomachache, said she'll never eat them again.

• 15:13Speaker 01

  Oh, God, okay.

• 15:14Speaker 02

Yeah, it's like 1,200 calories for one cookie.

• 15:17Speaker 01

Yeah, it wasn't the 15 Salem she had on the way there.

• 15:22H. Foley?

  She don't smoke that though.

• 15:23Speaker 01

Fuck outta here. Over there smoking merits in the parking lot, goes in, eats one cookie, blames the cookie.

• 15:30H. Foley?

Do you know anybody that smoked merits?

• 15:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 15:32H. Foley?

Even as a kid, I was like, "You're trash."

• 15:34Speaker 01

My buddy's mom, and she kept them in a, she kept them in a fucking, in the case, like, the, like, the big purse case, you know what I mean?

• 15:41H. Foley?

  Oh, yeah.

• 15:42Speaker 01

And it would, that, it had that contraption that was so hard to me as a young kid to open.

• 15:45H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 15:46Speaker 01

  Like, the two-

• 15:46H. Foley?

Like, it was like, it looked like a little pocketbook.

• 15:48Speaker 01

Yeah, and it had like the clip.

• 15:49H. Foley?

It had like the two things that clipped like that. I used to love smell, my aunt had one of those, I used to love smelling it.

• 15:54Speaker 01

It was pink, and there was a, like, they were, she was the first person to know to smoke hundreds, too, merit hundreds, I think. And that and a lighter and she'd be just driving.

• 16:02H. Foley?

  Fucking banana clip of merit.

• 16:05Speaker 01

Taking heavy fucks up. Guy came out with some heavy.

• 16:08H. Foley?

  Merit one hundreds?

• 16:10Speaker 01

She'd be driving. We'd all be in a fucking station wagon, a hundred of us, facing the back, woody panel.

• 16:15H. Foley?

  Hundred people? I'm so stupid.

• 16:20Speaker 01

That's a lot of things. And we're all smoking.

• 16:23H. Foley?

  Everybody's smoking.

• 16:25Speaker 01

And she dude like this. She was, she was the first person in my life, I don't think she was like bigger, you know, just like a whatever, like a mom. But I was so young and she was such a powerful like.

• 16:38H. Foley?

  Big personality.

• 16:39Speaker 01

Big personality, you know, strict, would like fucking yell at me of like, you know, I mean, I was over there all the time, but like, you know.

• 16:47H. Foley?

  Kevin!

• 16:48Speaker 01

Like an aunt essentially. And then she was this huge person. I didn't see her for like 15 years and I saw her at a funeral. And dude, she was like five foot one, like 15 pounds. And I was like. I was the first, my mind was blown. I was like, oh, I met, you were a giant in my head. Cause I was five and you know what I mean? Stealing her eaters. Getting pissed at me. But she was just this huge fucking force of a woman. And then to see her as I was a grown man, I was like, goddamn. Yeah.

• 17:14H. Foley?

Yeah, nothing, nothing lasts forever, kid.

• 17:16Speaker 01

Okay. Tell that to Ory. You hear that Nabisco? Was that, is Oreo Nabisco?

• 17:23H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 17:23Speaker 01

Well, growing up our whole, our whole lives on the, you know, a lot of Northeast dirtbags will know this on, I believe it's Byberry and the Boulevard. Was the Nabisco factory. And man.

• 17:34H. Foley?

  Could smell it from here.

• 17:35Speaker 01

You could find, you, that was, I never understood that. Cause like they weren't real cookies. I'm like, how the fuck do I really smell the cookies?

• 17:43H. Foley?

  They're baking something in there.

• 17:44Speaker 01

I know, but then I met this kid at the, I met this kid at the Orlando airport, cause our flight was delayed. I was probably 10. And uh, he's like, you know, he was 16, 18.

• 17:54H. Foley?

Where'd you, where'd you hang, what?

• 17:55Speaker 01

We were delayed. Our flight was delayed.

• 17:57H. Foley?

So you start at 10, you start, what are you at a bar mingling?

• 18:00Speaker 01

That's a TGR Fridays, having a couple of cocktails.

• 18:02H. Foley?

How do you talk to somebody?

• 18:05Speaker 01

  I don't know.

• 18:05H. Foley?

  At an airport.

• 18:06Speaker 01

We were jam, we were flying East Wind Airlines. See if you can find East.

• 18:09H. Foley?

  Who is?

• 18:10Speaker 01

  Me, my whole family.

• 18:12H. Foley?

How did you get away from your family where you're talking to somebody? Where the conversation got to, hey, you know the Nabisco factory in northeast Philly?

• 18:21Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 18:22H. Foley?

You were about to get got.

• 18:23Speaker 01

I showed him a picture of my order and that kid was such northeast white trash. I had a, I remember it, we were, it's fucking dead a summer in Orlando. This kid had a velour sweatsuit on.

• 18:36H. Foley?

Were you sitting at the gate?

• 18:37Speaker 01

Yeah, we were standing at the gate waiting. They canceled our flight. They were canceling, because like, East Wind Airlines only had like four planes.

• 18:44H. Foley?

  Oh, really?

• 18:46Speaker 02

  They only lasted four years.

• 18:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 18:48H. Foley?

  Jesus, man. You got lucky.

• 18:50Speaker 01

We were jammed. I know. My brother, I told you, my brother refused to, because I'm gonna have dad come pick me up. I go, that's not happening. He didn't want to get on the plane.

• 18:57H. Foley?

  Because he was scared?

• 18:58Speaker 01

Yeah, because like, they had to make an, that same kid, the same guy, kid, he's like 18 probably. He told us on the way down, they had to make an, his, his East Wind airline had to, plane had to make an emergency landing. So Danny heard that and goes, I'll see yous later. I'll be driving up with.

• 19:14H. Foley?

Who is this kid? He's like, he's out there somewhere.

• 19:17Speaker 01

I know. He might listen to the show.

• 19:20H. Foley?

Okay, let's talk about Brunt Workwear.

• 19:21Speaker 01

  Brunt, brunt, brunt, brunt, brunt.

• 19:23H. Foley?

Woo, gang, let's talk about the founder, Eric Gerard. Grew up a blue collar kid, created Brunt after friends in the trade told him, big legacy brand, stopped listening to them and became too fashionable.

• 19:35Speaker 01

Trying to be fashion companies, not workwear companies.

• 19:37H. Foley?

Yeah, you gotta really combine fashion and comfort and durability, and that's where Brunt comes in. Traditional work boots, traditional work boots would force guys to choose between comfort and durability. But not with Brunt, baby. You're gonna look good, you're gonna feel good, and you're gonna feel very secure in your Brunts.

• 19:55Speaker 01

The big thing about Brunts is, uh, no painful break in, no sore feet, no stiff leather battles. You come in, you kind of set and forget, you put your foot in, boom, you're on the, you're on the job site the first day. I was always a bozo when it came to my boots. I wish I knew about Brunt back when I was banging my blue collar jobs. I was using hand-me-downs, I was buying them at Payless, I was being an idiot. And it's one of the things you know, if you work, if you work in the trades. You lose your feet, you're done for the day. You can't, that affects the rest of the week. You got a bad day of boots on. Brunt is in just about work boots. They offer a full range of high-performance gear built for tough jobs. From heavy-duty work pants to weather-resistant jackets. Brunt designs durable, reliable workwear to keep you protected and productive in any conditions.

• 20:40Speaker 01

Brunt was tired of the workwear brands cutting corners. You work too hard to be stuck in uncomfortable boots that don't hold up. So they built something better. Boots that are insanely comfortable and built for any job site. For a limited time, our listeners get $10 off at Brunt when you choose the code, when you use the code GARBAGE at checkout. Just head to bruntworkwear.com, use the code GARBAGE, and you're good to go. After you order, they're gonna ask you how you heard about Brunt, do them a favor and tell them a boy said you.

• 21:03H. Foley?

A boy said you. Okay, what do you know about Hollow Socks?

• 21:06Speaker 01

Oh, best socks I've ever worn in my whole life.

• 21:09H. Foley?

What do you know about the phrase ultra-soft baby alpaca fiber?

• 21:15Speaker 01

Alpaca my bags and go buy another pair, you done.

• 21:18H. Foley?

Man, you hit them with that. Baby alpaca fiber. These are the most comfortable socks that you are ever gonna put on. And you could take that to the bank.

• 21:27Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 21:27H. Foley?

To the H. Foley Bank, I'm telling you. Here's the other crazy thing. Your feet aren't freezing in the winter.

• 21:33Speaker 01

I don't know, this is black magic. I don't know how they do this.

• 21:35H. Foley?

They don't get sweaty and clammy in the summertime. It's that soft baby alpaca.

• 21:41Speaker 01

  We're talking.

• 21:41H. Foley?

  It's alpaca.

• 21:42Speaker 01

  Thermo-regulating.

• 21:44H. Foley?

Do yourself a favor, go over to Hollow Socks, try it out. If I'm wrong, whatever.

• 21:50Speaker 01

Yeah, they're, they're built for daily wear and real boots, not just dress socks. Alpaca fibers make bacterial growth difficult, reducing the root cause of most foot odors. I know the army of garbage loves good value. You don't mind spending a couple extra bucks as long as you're getting the good product. We've all made the mistakes of buying a million pairs of socks for $8. They don't breathe, your toes are sweating, and you're trying to, you're trying to knock boots with a young lady. She goes, what's that smell? You go, I don't know. I should've, I should've done the alpaca fibers.

• 22:20H. Foley?

  It's not baby alpaca.

• 22:21Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 22:21H. Foley?

  I had that.

• 22:23Speaker 01

It's made right here in the USA and trusted by athletes and over 2 million pairs sold, Daddio. That's how they're doing. They're moving units. For a limited time, Hollow Socks is having a buy two, get two free sale. Who don't love a BOGO too? Head to hollowsocks.com today to check it out. Hollow, that's hollowsocks.com for 50% off your first order, for up to 50% off your first order. After you purchase, they're gonna ask you how you heard about them. Support the show and tell them the boys sent you, Daddio.

• 22:51H. Foley?

That's cra- so you what, you're sitting at the gate and you see this kid?

• 22:55Speaker 01

Talking. He goes, "Oh, where are you from?" You know, "I live up on, you know..."

• 22:58H. Foley?

  Where are your parents?

• 22:59Speaker 01

My mom and stepdad are there, or floating around.

• 23:02H. Foley?

  Drinking?

• 23:02Speaker 01

  Yeah, probably.

• 23:03H. Foley?

And you're roaming around the airport talking to random guys?

• 23:05Speaker 01

I'm not roaming around. That's a wild way to put it. Talking to random-

• 23:09H. Foley?

I mean, how do you start talking to a random 18-year-old as a 10-year-old?

• 23:12Speaker 01

We were standing in line. I also think someone else-

• 23:15H. Foley?

  For what?

• 23:16Speaker 01

For the plane. Someone else was driving the conversation. Probably Danny. Danny's probably trying to steal his credit cards or something. Danny was trying to probably bum a heater off the guy.

• 23:26H. Foley?

So what did he tell you about the Nabisco factory?

• 23:28Speaker 01

It was fake. He goes, "They just pumped that out. My, my stepdad worked there, something, something was all fake."

• 23:33H. Foley?

  No, that's not true.

• 23:34Speaker 01

I don't know. Just letting you know what I know.

• 23:35H. Foley?

Cause I remember there used to be a Nowland, in fact, a Nowlander factory in Brooklyn, and when you drove on, I think, the Gowanus Expressways back in the day, you could smell the, the fruit flavor.

• 23:46Speaker 01

  The candy.

• 23:46H. Foley?

Yeah, candy. I love that kinda shit.

• 23:49Speaker 01

  No.

• 23:50H. Foley?

  Yeah, it's cool.

• 23:51Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:52H. Foley?

  I like it.

• 23:52Speaker 01

But now it's, that's, uh, they leveled, they leveled the Nabisco factory. It's now a Wawa and the Topgolf.

• 23:58H. Foley?

  Hmm. I respect that move.

• 24:00Speaker 01

But the roller skating palace halfway down the block survived. Shout out to it.

• 24:03H. Foley?

There you go. Well, what are you gonna do?

• 24:05Speaker 01

Um, all right, listen, all this, all this corporation cookie talk, uh, is the smell real? Is it not real? You know?

• 24:12H. Foley?

  Trying to alert the consumer.

• 24:13Speaker 01

Is Foley's power on? Is it off? That does, that's neither here nor there. We got a gosh darn family episode.

• 24:19H. Foley?

  Oh, my power's on.

• 24:19Speaker 01

  (laughing)

• 24:20H. Foley?

  Overtime.

• 24:21Speaker 01

  Boo.

• 24:22H. Foley?

Um, now, cause it's really cheap.

• 24:25Speaker 01

  I'm getting bamboozled. I just, I, something's going on.

• 24:28H. Foley?

My power bill's like a hundred bucks. Summer, it's fucking crazy.

• 24:31Speaker 01

  Yeah, I get you.

• 24:32H. Foley?

  Keep that AC running.

• 24:34Speaker 01

Very, this is, wow, sometimes the show just naturally flows. This is from J-Roe. This was, this is the first question I pulled. Is it garbage to say that you never lose power because of a special power grid you're on? Like, I never lose power because I'm on the same grid as the hospital. Like, the hospital doesn't have a generator or something to break it. That's so true.

• 24:57H. Foley?

  Man.

• 24:57Speaker 01

Ah, they can't cut me. I'm, you know, I'm at the water treatment plant.

• 25:01H. Foley?

Right. Jesus, that's trashy. Knowing what grid you're on is crazy.

• 25:05Speaker 01

I don't think anybody, it's one grid, right?

• 25:08H. Foley?

  I don't know. I don't know how that works.

• 25:10Speaker 02

We were always close to the schools.

• 25:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 25:12Speaker 02

So we were always like, ah, the power will be back on. So we were first up.

• 25:15Speaker 01

That makes sense. They'll get it back on early for the schools. That would make sense to me. But we never really lost power that much.

• 25:25H. Foley?

  Nah, we didn't.

• 25:27Speaker 01

Because I think we were like part of a newer development. So I think, I guess our power was under, there wasn't... My house in the burbs now...

• 25:36H. Foley?

A storm would take it out for like a, for like an hour. We never lost power for more than like a few hours.

• 25:41Speaker 01

But that happens a lot now, like outside, filled with the, with the snowstorms and shit. People are like, I haven't had power in three days.

• 25:46H. Foley?

  Fucked up, man. Crazy.

• 25:49Speaker 01

  That's wild.

• 25:50H. Foley?

When I was in that hurricane in North Carolina, I lost it for like, it was like six days with no power.

• 25:54Speaker 01

  That's wild to me.

• 25:56H. Foley?

  Brutal.

• 25:57Speaker 02

Sandy, we didn't have school for like two weeks.

• 25:59Speaker 01

  Sandy?

• 26:00H. Foley?

  Two weeks?

• 26:00Speaker 02

  Yeah, it was crazy.

• 26:02Speaker 01

  That's wild.

• 26:03H. Foley?

  You're out there looting?

• 26:04Speaker 02

Me and my boys were like going to the school to like take showers and shits. Because like, the whole town had to.

• 26:10Speaker 01

Yeah, that makes sense. There's nowhere to go.

• 26:12H. Foley?

  Good. Make you fucking scumbags.

• 26:17Speaker 02

  Great equalizer, baby.

• 26:22H. Foley?

Showers at the school? Would you have to shower in groups?

• 26:25Speaker 02

Nah, I mean, like, they had like, it was a good set, a new school. Good setup there.

• 26:30H. Foley?

  Alright. Chicks?

• 26:36Speaker 01

Any local moms, being a daddy and having to go shower at the school is a tough look.

• 26:40H. Foley?

  Man, you're in there shaving.

• 26:42Speaker 01

  Hey, Mr. Jenkins.

• 26:45H. Foley?

Peering at one of those little urinals.

• 26:48H. Foley?

Um, yeah, man, that's trashy. Nah, I got the, I'm on a policeman's grid, whatever it is.

• 26:55Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 26:56H. Foley?

  Dirtbag.

• 26:56Speaker 01

Uh, alright, let's see here, um, $10 union member here. How old were you when your dirtbagging is really began? I was 18 when I found out that as long as you pay a bill within 30 days of a due date, it doesn't affect your credit and from then on out, I was a professional plate spinner.

• 27:12H. Foley?

  I'm with you.

• 27:13Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's, um...

• 27:15H. Foley?

  I didn't know that.

• 27:16Speaker 01

I think that was J-Dub. I knew that way too early.

• 27:19H. Foley?

I didn't know until recently because, uh...

• 27:21Speaker 01

Well, I'll even push back on this. You can go crazy long without paying it.

• 27:28Speaker 01

It doesn't, it will, it will, you can go, they can shut it the fuck off and it's still not... I think it can really only ding your credit if they, if they front you money.

• 27:39H. Foley?

  Front me money?

• 27:40Speaker 01

Yeah, like, oh, the only things that report to your credit are money lending.

• 27:44H. Foley?

  Like?

• 27:45Speaker 01

Like, the power company's giving you a service.

• 27:47H. Foley?

  Right.

• 27:47Speaker 01

  They're not giving you money.

• 27:49H. Foley?

  Yeah, loans.

• 27:50Speaker 01

They can S-I-D for all I care.

• 27:52H. Foley?

Loans is where you get jammed up.

• 27:53Speaker 01

Yeah, and like, maybe after a certain time, if you don't pay the credit, like, they'll turn it over to a recovery, like, a debt collector, but I don't think that ever goes to fucking, hey, do you want to, yeah, then fucking, talk about dirtbag, plate spinner. Locked in. Locked in, guy. You want to know what and what is, what is legal and what is not legal when it comes to paying your bills? Talk to my dad, how you doing?

• 28:16H. Foley?

  Huh.

• 28:17Speaker 01

I was at a very young age when he goes, I was worried about him, you know, just getting, I don't know, going away or something like that, you know?

• 28:23H. Foley?

  There's no debtor's prison.

• 28:24Speaker 01

He told me, I remember sitting in the Jeep, eating Tic Tacs and he went through.

• 28:27H. Foley?

  You told me that.

• 28:28Speaker 01

  There's no debtor's prison.

• 28:29H. Foley?

That changed my life when you told me that.

• 28:31Speaker 01

Yeah, there's no, there's no, you can, you can get in trouble for, I mean, it, there's, it depends the stance you take with the IRS as well.

• 28:38H. Foley?

Of course, gotta pay the man.

• 28:41Speaker 01

But, uh, if you evade the, that's why it's tax evasion, it's never not paying your taxes.

• 28:46H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 28:47Speaker 01

  It's lying on your taxes.

• 28:48H. Foley?

If you're doing some sneaky shit.

• 28:49Speaker 01

Yeah, like, ah, this is what you know.

• 28:50H. Foley?

If you're just an idiot, what are you gonna do?

• 28:51Speaker 01

Which we don't do, because we have somebody technically that don't avoid.

• 28:54H. Foley?

I feel like that's something they do in France, like a debtor's prison.

• 28:57Speaker 01

  That's old school shit.

• 28:58H. Foley?

  Put you in papillon.

• 28:59Speaker 01

Yeah, like take your teeth or something if you can't pay the bill.

• 29:02H. Foley?

Take you to some island where you eat gruel every day.

• 29:05Speaker 01

Um, yeah, that's a big thing. We, that, I mean, I was at a very young age when I realized how not good the money sitch was by how highly stacked the unopened mail was. They just, they just couldn't face it. And it was just like, why the fuck am I gonna ruin my day?

• 29:27H. Foley?

  I'm with you.

• 29:28Speaker 01

  Opening this up.

• 29:28H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 29:29Speaker 01

It's also back then, things moved so much slower. That and if the phone rings, I'm not here. I thought everybody was doing that.

• 29:38H. Foley?

Look at it this way, though. Nothing ever really happened. Everybody's okay. You know?

• 29:44Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 29:45H. Foley?

They're worrying about that shit and this and that.

• 29:46Speaker 01

I would say I'm a little affected by the validity of, by the, the volatileness of the, uh, the cash game.

• 29:53H. Foley?

Hey, tough break, fuckface. Take a Sarah quote and get back in the fight.

• 29:56Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, I mean, that's very much it. And it's also, I mean-

• 29:59H. Foley?

  Yeah, you're scarred.

• 30:00Speaker 01

  Sure.

• 30:01H. Foley?

But they never came and got ya.

• 30:02Speaker 01

  I mean, okay.

• 30:03H. Foley?

So they took the car in the middle of the night. You had to move a couple of times in the middle of the night. Everybody has three or four identities these days.

• 30:11Speaker 01

Uh, yeah, I mean, it led to like not speaking to a lot of family and friends, uh, you know? Who needs a silver fucking thirty?

• 30:21H. Foley?

He might Thanksgiving turkey by myself.

• 30:23Speaker 01

It was that and it was, uh, it took me, I was probably about in my teens when it, like, the whole perspective changed of, uh, maybe it's not everybody else who is the problem.

• 30:35H. Foley?

It's funny, you fell right in line, though.

• 30:37Speaker 01

  What do you mean?

• 30:38H. Foley?

You know, you're a put together guy, morally.

• 30:41Speaker 01

Yeah, compared to you, I'm fucking Abe Lincoln. What the fuck are you talking about, dude?

• 30:46H. Foley?

Couldn't pull one of those hats off?

• 30:48Speaker 01

I'm a corn cob pipe. But-

• 30:51H. Foley?

From a very young age, you were a dirtball.

• 30:54Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, yeah.

• 30:56H. Foley?

  You weren't paying bills.

• 30:58Speaker 01

I still don't. My, my, my, my spectrum still gets turned. That's when I pay it. My, if we're on the road, my wife will text me, "The internet's down. Did you pay the bill?"

• 31:08Speaker 02

I just imagine you in all these super stressful situations, just crushing orange Tic Tacs.

• 31:13Speaker 01

  No, we didn't like.

• 31:14Speaker 02

Me? No, Kiffy as a kid.

• 31:16Speaker 01

  No.

• 31:17H. Foley?

  Why orange Tic Tacs?

• 31:18Speaker 02

Cause he was eating the orange Tic Tacs.

• 31:19Speaker 01

No, we were always light winter, the winter, the light green, winter green. Big Dan Ryan had them in his car, heavy, all time, every time.

• 31:28H. Foley?

I ate a thing of Tic Tacs not that long ago.

• 31:30Speaker 01

That's a weird way to put it. You ate a thing of, that's how you view it.

• 31:34H. Foley?

I did. Remember the, the night we did Jeremiah's show? Remember I had a thing of Tic Tacs?

• 31:39Speaker 01

  No.

• 31:39H. Foley?

  I offered you some.

• 31:40Speaker 01

I'm not saying you didn't. I gave. You think that's how, that's what I remember.

• 31:45H. Foley?

I gave Norman some, I think. Somebody asked for some.

• 31:47Speaker 01

You're a real cool guy, huh? Playing it, he's sounding like a cop, dude. You guys want some Tic Tacs? I swear I gave you them.

• 31:52H. Foley?

And then I, I was so hungry, I crushed the whole thing.

• 31:55Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 31:56H. Foley?

  That's a candy.

• 31:57Speaker 01

Me and my brother fell in love with the orange Tic Tacs at the Bellagio. My dad got married in Vegas, second marriage. I don't, didn't last. Um.

• 32:05H. Foley?

But she got you the soft batch.

• 32:06Speaker 01

She got me the soft batch of Velveeta.

• 32:08H. Foley?

That's how she got you, huh?

• 32:11H. Foley?

That was new to her. I never thought about that aspect of getting a stepmom. You get her little, you know, what treats?

• 32:17Speaker 01

How she, the, the, the things that differed were shake and bake, Denise never fucked with, she fucked with.

• 32:22H. Foley?

  Really?

• 32:23Speaker 01

  She was pretty good.

• 32:24H. Foley?

  Yeah?

• 32:24Speaker 01

I remember, dude, I remember the chicken back in the 90s, where you, it was like veiny. You'd just be pulling out like fucking arteries and shit.

• 32:30H. Foley?

  Dude.

• 32:31Speaker 01

It was like worms in there.

• 32:31H. Foley?

  Chicken in the 90s.

• 32:32Speaker 01

  Crazy.

• 32:33H. Foley?

It's like they got it from American Gladiator. She was whacked.

• 32:37Speaker 01

I just remember being like, what in the, like pulling out like a, like a vein? You know what I mean? Like, an actual, long, red.

• 32:45H. Foley?

Yeah. That's when breasts took off, chicken breasts, cause nobody was fucking with the parts.

• 32:50Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 32:51H. Foley?

Get out of here with that shit.

• 32:52Speaker 01

They weren't, they weren't thin breasts either, like you got now. These were heavy, like fucking beating the heart.

• 32:59H. Foley?

Did your mom ever serve you the thigh and the leg together?

• 33:02Speaker 01

She knew, she, well, there was bones in it Denise knew not to put it on my plate.

• 33:06H. Foley?

But you know what I'm talking about, the, the thing.

• 33:08Speaker 01

Yeah, she had it, they had it.

• 33:10H. Foley?

That's like eating a dog's leg. Fuck out of here, what the fuck am I supposed to do with this?

• 33:15Speaker 01

Yeah, I was a chicken nuggets guy up and for.

• 33:17H. Foley?

  Brutal.

• 33:18Speaker 01

  Time, um, yeah, that, uh.

• 33:22H. Foley?

Didn't throw all that skin in fucking cartilage to get to some meat.

• 33:27Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 33:28H. Foley?

Ugh, chicken skin as a kid, ooh.

• 33:30Speaker 01

I remember, have my uncle, or my grandfather.

• 33:33H. Foley?

  Faces of death.

• 33:34Speaker 01

My grandfather, so every Thanksgiving, we all met at, we'd all have our dinner at our respective houses, then for like coffee and dessert, we'd go over to Aunt Patty's.

• 33:43H. Foley?

  For when?

• 33:44Speaker 01

  Coffee and dessert.

• 33:44H. Foley?

  No, no, what's, what's.

• 33:45Speaker 01

  Thanksgiving.

• 33:46H. Foley?

  Oh, nice.

• 33:46Speaker 01

Right, so like, everybody would eat at there, cause there's not, nine of my mom, my mom's one of nine, so like, everybody would do that, and then.

• 33:54H. Foley?

You would do this when Joe was in the picture?

• 33:56Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, my whole life, up until like, up until probably through college.

• 34:00H. Foley?

No shit, it would just be you, you five, or whatever.

• 34:03Speaker 01

Uh, it depend, no, there'd be more than that, like, maybe like another family would come over, then we'd all, like, my uncle Mike might come over.

• 34:10H. Foley?

  Gotcha.

• 34:11Speaker 01

Somebody, then we'd all go to my Aunt Patty's together, um, but, uh, everybody, so all the houses would save their, the legs, the turkey legs for my grandfather, cause he liked the turkey leg. I remember just like to wa, dude, as a kid, watching a guy with like multiple turkey legs, I felt, felt like he was in Braveheart, I was like, dude, this is cra, like, it was so far for me to eat that dark, sloppy, hanging meat with like, there's still feathers and shit on it, like.

• 34:40H. Foley?

  Pop-up's a hyena.

• 34:42Speaker 01

Yeah, I was like, dude, this guy's, I'm like, he's eating the shit that nobody else wants, and everybody's, like, they would have eaten, I don't know, just, it was like, everybody bring your turkey parts to pop up over here. I was like, no way, I was like, sex, be like, and he'd take his dentures out and scare me.

• 34:56H. Foley?

Man, chicken in the nineties, what the fuck?

• 35:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:00H. Foley?

  They didn't know.

• 35:01Speaker 01

  Things start adding up.

• 37:14Speaker 01

  Uh huh.

• 37:15H. Foley?

You know what I'm saying? I wish I could go back and tell my younger self, if you're gonna do a little banking, make sure you save your money, make sure you do it right, watch out for bank fees, all that kind of stuff. I'll tell you what I really wish, I could go back and say, hey, I wish I had Chime.

• 37:29Speaker 01

I know. Listen, if you're out there, this is where Chime comes in. Chime is changing the way people bank. It's hard, listen, it's hard enough to keep a buck as it is. Then you got these big corporate banks. Coming after ya.

• 37:42H. Foley?

  Overdraft fees.

• 37:43Speaker 01

Overdraft fee, uh, monthly statement, that it. Oh, oh, five, five dollars for this, ten dollars for that. They got their hand in your pocket.

• 37:49H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 37:50Speaker 01

Not with Chime. Chime offers the most rewarding, fee-free banking, all with no overdraft fees, no monthly fees, no minimum balances. You get an up-to-the-date tracking of a big man's, uh, you know, progress. Um, this one's from Foley's Dietitian. $10 investor, never had one read. Are you garbage if your crew's favorite hangout spot is a nearby hotel, hotel bar? Pretty swinging jazz club at the Hilton nearby.

• 39:07H. Foley?

I gotta give it to ya.

• 39:09Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 39:10H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 39:10Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 39:12H. Foley?

I guess, dude, every once in a while.

• 39:13Speaker 01

  I love that.

• 39:14H. Foley?

You go, like, even where Bananas is, that comedy club.

• 39:18Speaker 01

Yeah, it's a bumpin' ball. People go there and hang out.

• 39:20H. Foley?

They, they, they throw a fucking chicken Caesar at ya, turn your day around. There's chicks in there, coming in and out, business guys. That's a poppin' spot. I would love that.

• 39:29Speaker 01

I would love that. That's real, that's fucking awesome. I never had the opportunity.

• 39:34H. Foley?

There's never anything cool like that.

• 39:35Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:37H. Foley?

The hotel bar at the Hilton, that's where you go and hang out.

• 39:40Speaker 01

  That's awesome.

• 39:41H. Foley?

That's alright, man. It's trash, of course.

• 39:44Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:44H. Foley?

  But that's alright.

• 39:46Speaker 01

  Is it trash?

• 39:47H. Foley?

Yeah, come on. A hotel in, in your hometown?

• 39:53Speaker 01

They probably got, they, cause they probably got pretty good deals on food. Like wings and stuff, that kinda stuff. They always do. What's wrong with it? I don't get it. The beers are never that expensive at like the, those Hilton Garden Inns and shit. They're always like three, four bucks.

• 40:09H. Foley?

  Bartender uses a little personality?

• 40:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 40:13H. Foley?

  What's up Russ?

• 40:13Speaker 01

They're clean, real clean. They don't smell like a fucking, they don't smell like a shitty bar when you walk into it.

• 40:18H. Foley?

  Not to mention.

• 40:22Speaker 01

  Go upstairs and jerk off.

• 40:23H. Foley?

No. A constant flow of uh...

• 40:27Speaker 01

  Uh, tri-weary travelers.

• 40:29H. Foley?

Yeah. People coming and out. You get to meet different people. Hey, we know we live here. You live here.

• 40:34Speaker 01

What? Honey, go to the room.

• 40:36H. Foley?

  That's one thing, man.

• 40:38Speaker 01

  That's weird with that.

• 40:39H. Foley?

Yeah. See, if you, if, if we were at a fucking hotel bar.

• 40:42Speaker 01

But they're going with their buddies.

• 40:43H. Foley?

Where you guys come, that even worse.

• 40:45Speaker 01

Also, they got jazz. No, it's not. Then you're not, if you're going with your buddies, you're not going, where are you guys from? You're fucking, you got your crew. If you're there hanging out by yourself, you gotta lie. Yeah. Otherwise they're gonna think you're a serial killer. Isn't that how fuckin... That's how Bundy found his victim.

• 41:00H. Foley?

  Is it?

• 41:00Speaker 01

No. I think his were mainly sororities. Um...

• 41:04H. Foley?

Broken down car. Right? And then his move?

• 41:07Speaker 01

I don't know. There's also some nice ones. That Rochester one we went to?

• 41:10H. Foley?

  Oh, forget it.

• 41:12Speaker 01

And that was like, that was a hotel bar.

• 41:14H. Foley?

That's the Rochester Hotel, right? What was the name of that joint?

• 41:16Speaker 01

I think it was like a Hilton, like owned. It was like a Vanderbilt owned by, or something. It was like a name, I think like that. Like an old fancy name.

• 41:22H. Foley?

Man, I really painted my masterpiece in there that night.

• 41:26H. Foley?

  I really did.

• 41:26Speaker 01

Someone said you were a tough hang.

• 41:28H. Foley?

Nah, it was good hang that night.

• 41:30Speaker 01

Oh, you kept going, "This bartender is the best bartender in the world."

• 41:33H. Foley?

Remember those chicks that were making fun of us out by the fire pit?

• 41:36Speaker 01

I think it was more making fun of you, but yeah.

• 41:37H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 41:38Speaker 01

Uh huh. I had that one. I remember that one. That older lady was, kept bumming cigs off me and like, just telling me her life story.

• 41:44H. Foley?

  Oh, yeah.

• 41:45Speaker 01

And then my husband died. I'm like, lady. I'm like fucking cranking this thing to get back inside.

• 41:51H. Foley?

  Yeah, I'm over there. Hello?

• 41:53Speaker 01

  I'm smoking like McConaughey.

• 41:56H. Foley?

Yeah, that part was, that was, that was right when I discovered, uh, 1942 Don Julio. Man, crushing that. That went down smooth. I had like, five different drinks that night.

• 42:07Speaker 01

I, I think it was 11, but yeah.

• 42:09H. Foley?

Yeah, I ran the ga- I like to run the, I used to like to run the gamut. I have a margarita, I have a martini, and a glass of red wine, a beer, why, why, yeah, sure, what do you live in a little bit?

• 42:19Speaker 01

Um, listen, I get that the, the hotel thing might be trashy. I think it's pretty fucking cool. Respect to it. That reminds me, in college, probably sophomore, summer going into junior year maybe? That sounds about right. Summer going into junior year, so we're 20, maybe 21, maybe I'm 21 at the time. A girl who was dating like a loose friend of mine. Kid moved into my house. Nice kid, but he moved, we weren't that close. My one friend, who you, you met, the good looking kid who's, uh...

• 42:51H. Foley?

  Sober.

• 42:51Speaker 01

  Sober.

• 42:52H. Foley?

  Yeah, yeah.

• 42:52Speaker 01

  He, um...

• 42:53H. Foley?

Is that who you're talking about? He's the loose friend?

• 42:54Speaker 01

  No, he crashed out.

• 42:56H. Foley?

  Okay.

• 42:56Speaker 01

And had to move out of the house.

• 42:58H. Foley?

  Alright.

• 42:58Speaker 01

  He dropped out mid semester.

• 43:00H. Foley?

  Right.

• 43:00Speaker 01

Or mid year. So he had to find someone for the back half. So he got his boy, who wasn't enrolled in college.

• 43:06H. Foley?

  Sweet.

• 43:07Speaker 01

To move in. And he moved in his girl, who's very nice, but like, not moved her in, but...

• 43:12H. Foley?

  She was there a lot.

• 43:13Speaker 01

Yeah, I mean, why not? She's living at home, her boyfriend's got a spot.

• 43:17H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 43:18Speaker 01

  Uh, you know.

• 43:19H. Foley?

  With a couple of wimps.

• 43:20Speaker 01

Oh, man, he came in fucking, just talking about his strong arm take over. Man, they were bringing their fucking, they were bringing in these actual criminals.

• 43:31H. Foley?

You dog shawls sitting there listening to him nail her.

• 43:36Speaker 01

I think Flip had to share a room with them. Yeah, Flip was not happy about that, yeah.

• 43:40H. Foley?

  Holy shit.

• 43:41Speaker 01

Flip, Flip, at that point, Flip, Flip was like checked out. Flip's like, um, maybe he was staying with his girl.

• 43:46H. Foley?

  Share a room?

• 43:48Speaker 01

Yeah, it was a, it was a three bedroom, there was four of us. I had my own room and another kid. The kid we didn't, the kid we hated the most had his own room.

• 43:55Speaker 02

  You need that.

• 43:56Speaker 01

  What?

• 43:56Speaker 02

The kid who you hate the most has to have his own room?

• 43:59Speaker 01

Cause nobody wanted, I think we drew straws for it, and Flip was so mad.

• 44:03H. Foley?

So he was in there sleeping with the, with the guy and his girlfriend in the next bed?

• 44:07Speaker 01

No, she wouldn't sleep, like, yeah, like, maybe she would sleep on the ca- ah, whatever, I forget the exact, I mean, no, Flip wasn't fucking sitting in the gun chair. No, it wasn't that.

• 44:18H. Foley?

Keep it down, we're trying to make love over here.

• 44:20Speaker 01

Uh, no, it was like, uh, she's coming down this weekend and Flip's like, I'm, Flip's girl went to another school, so it was like, maybe he would. At that point, me and Flip started.

• 44:28H. Foley?

Where was your girl at the time?

• 44:29Speaker 01

  Seeing other people. What?

• 44:31H. Foley?

Canada? She was in the army, right?

• 44:34Speaker 01

  Serpent.

• 44:37Speaker 01

There was a hand, eh, okay. They listen. Eh, the one does.

• 44:43Speaker 01

Um. Getting with an ROTC chick? Remember where, where, oh, we, oh, fucking.

• 44:50H. Foley?

My girl's in the Coast Guard.

• 44:52Speaker 01

Remember Freddie Mitchell and the National Guard girl? Oh my god, I was so fired. Those girls were so intimidating. I've never been like, hard and scared by a girl twerking. I was like, what the fuck?

• 45:02H. Foley?

Freddie Mitchell, eh, that was the, the color guard or whatever, the people that carry the flag.

• 45:07Speaker 01

I don't know who they, oh, is that, was that the game? I don't know who it was.

• 45:10H. Foley?

Yeah, I guess. It was like, one from the Coast Guard, one from the Air Force?

• 45:14Speaker 01

I never got ROTC guys and girls.

• 45:16H. Foley?

Freddie Mitchell hanging out with the Air Force chicks? Yo, man, who's paying for these beers?

• 45:20Speaker 01

Yeah, I was like, what? Well, we are, who, what? Who else would be paying for the beers?

• 45:25H. Foley?

  Shout out to Freddie Mitchell.

• 45:28Speaker 01

  Legend. Um.

• 45:32H. Foley?

  Ah, fuck.

• 45:33Speaker 01

Funny. Um, no. What the fu- oh, so whatever, that girl, her. Grandfather owned a restaurant that was closed.

• 45:43H. Foley?

Just the chick that the dude was dating?

• 45:45Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 45:46H. Foley?

  Uh huh.

• 45:46Speaker 01

She owned a restaurant, her, her grandfather owned a restaurant that, like, they were open one day a week or something like that.

• 45:52H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 45:53Speaker 01

So, he was like a hundred, and he was like, nobody wanted to take it over, so she somehow got the keys to this place.

• 45:59H. Foley?

  Sweet.

• 45:59Speaker 01

And she's like, I'll open it up on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for you guys. Like, and it would just be us.

• 46:04H. Foley?

  No way.

• 46:05Speaker 01

You'd go sit at the bar, you could crank heaters in there, cause it was outside Philadelphia limits at that time, it was still like, you hadn't fully, only Philly was no heaters at the time.

• 46:14H. Foley?

  Huh, is that legal?

• 46:15Speaker 01

Nah, I don't know. It was fucking, but then every now and then, someone out like, a couple of regulars would mosey in that heard like, oh, they're open on Tuesdays and Wednesdays now. And they'd come in and we'd just be fucking, there'd be ten of us, posted up.

• 46:28H. Foley?

  Drinking beers.

• 46:29Speaker 01

Drinking beers, she would do like, at that point, they had, they were just serving wings.

• 46:33H. Foley?

  What, really?

• 46:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, so you're just like.

• 46:35H. Foley?

That's awesome. What are you bitching about?

• 46:37Speaker 01

  I wasn't bitching about it.

• 46:39H. Foley?

  You're bitching about this guy.

• 46:41Speaker 01

  No, I didn't.

• 46:41H. Foley?

That chick's awesome. Cooler than your, your lot.

• 46:44Speaker 02

Did she have to like work all the jobs though?

• 46:48Speaker 01

  That's a good question.

• 46:49H. Foley?

Come in, she checks your coat.

• 46:52Speaker 01

I think she was doing a lot. I think there was probably a cook. They were like keeping.

• 46:57H. Foley?

  Who was paying for this?

• 46:59Speaker 01

We were with our beers, I guess.

• 47:00H. Foley?

  Oh, you were buying beers?

• 47:01Speaker 01

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We had to go and pay. But it was like, you know, beers like, you know, Coors Lights were, or a bucket of beers was probably 10 bucks or like beers were two, three dollars. At that point, you're like two, three dollars. And listen, not everybody was 21 at the time.

• 47:15H. Foley?

  How were the wings?

• 47:16Speaker 01

They were great. You get them and you want, hey, dump, dump them back in there again, you know, fry them double hard. It's just fucking like, you know, Billy's back there dropping them.

• 47:26Speaker 01

Yeah, we just had like run of this place for like

• 47:28H. Foley?

  That's pretty cool.

• 47:28Speaker 01

three months in the summer. And he's like, I think they were like, oh, I'm going to close in September or whatever. I'll make it through the summer.

• 47:33H. Foley?

  That's awesome.

• 47:34Speaker 01

  Sick.

• 47:35H. Foley?

  I love an empty restaurant.

• 47:36Speaker 01

It, it also, it looks like where like the, uh, what's, what's the bad guys from the Goonies?

• 47:43H. Foley?

  The Fratellis?

• 47:44Speaker 01

Yeah, it looked like the Fratelli's house a little bit.

• 47:46H. Foley?

  Oh, that place was.

• 47:47Speaker 01

  It was like set back.

• 47:50Speaker 01

And later, later it was closed due to flood damage, but it was set back on like a, like a crick. And you had to like dry, it was like swampy. It looked like something from like, uh, like New Orleans a little bit.

• 48:01H. Foley?

  Gotcha.

• 48:02Speaker 01

And we were, we were hanging in there, dude. Hanging. Hey, you know, then you became boys with the regulars.

• 48:08H. Foley?

Heater's a bucket of beer and chicken wings.

• 48:10Speaker 01

  The fuck else you need?

• 48:11H. Foley?

  The Kevin Ryan story.

• 48:13Speaker 01

My dad can see me now.

• 48:14H. Foley?

  Holy shit.

• 48:15Speaker 01

Yeah. Um, all right, let's see here. This one's from Devon, $10 Patreon holder here for two years. How you doing? Thank you. Uh, are you garbage if you immediately tell the server at a group dinner who's on your check without being asked?

• 48:27H. Foley?

  Fuck.

• 48:30H. Foley?

It's gonna be me. Yeah, you know.

• 48:32Speaker 01

We're all, us three are on the same check. Those two are on the same check.

• 48:34H. Foley?

You know how I feel about that, but family man, you go out, your family, yeah, I get it. I get it. I get it.

• 48:40Speaker 01

I understand it. I just like, yeah.

• 48:42H. Foley?

  Setting it straight. Sure.

• 48:44Speaker 01

But that's also like, you've either.

• 48:48Speaker 01

I can, I can understand it and I cannot understand, I think I can understand it if you're like, "These fucking guys are animals. They like try and put shit on your thing. They don't pay you back." If you're getting out in front of it because the people you're with are animals, I get that. Of like, "I'm not fucking hunting him down for $22.99 or whatever." Uh, I, I can understand that, but I don't get it if you're like, if you're the guy who's like, "I don't want anybody." I'm like, "I, I, I'm, you know." If you're, "I don't want you arguing over the chicken."

• 49:15H. Foley?

Yeah, I, uh, I've really turned on that over, over from being on the road. Just from how much, every time, same, you guys want the same check?

• 49:23Speaker 01

I think it's so normalized now.

• 49:25H. Foley?

And it's so easy to do it now.

• 49:26Speaker 01

But then I also go, "It's so nor-" Yeah, it's, I guess on other systems. But it's also so normalized, we've been places where they go like, They pull up, I've been places where they pull up like, The thing on the iPad and go, "Okay, two separate checks. Okay, you had the..."

• 49:40H. Foley?

Oh yeah, you go on toast.

• 49:41Speaker 01

Yeah, they just like press like the items you had.

• 49:43H. Foley?

Yeah, and you move it over.

• 49:44Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 49:44H. Foley?

I mean, they're faking Oreos. What the, what the fuck? What are we holding on to? It doesn't matter.

• 49:49Speaker 01

Yeah, I do get that you stormed the front, you stormed the be- that was your D-Day. Cause that technology wasn't there to like,

• 49:56H. Foley?

  No.

• 49:56Speaker 01

Go in and go, "Okay, he had this, he had that."

• 49:59H. Foley?

And if it was like fucking six NYU dental students when I worked at the waterfront of our house, Being fucking dickheads, trying to act like fucking cool guys, like, "I'm a fucking jerk off." And then, "Hi, sweetie, yeah." Or like being on dates and like splitting the check or like going Dutch. "Are you fucking this guy?"

• 50:18Speaker 01

  That bothered you?

• 50:19H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 50:20Speaker 02

How often did you see that? Cause that I feel like is such a faux pas of like splitting the check on like,

• 50:25H. Foley?

  A lot.

• 50:25Speaker 02

  An early date.

• 50:26H. Foley?

  A lot. A lot.

• 50:28Speaker 01

And you know they were on dates?

• 50:29H. Foley?

I knew they were on dates.

• 50:31Speaker 01

  How'd you know?

• 50:32H. Foley?

  I don't know, cause a guy knows.

• 50:36Speaker 01

Eh, okay. A normal guy, sure.

• 50:38H. Foley?

  You know.

• 50:39Speaker 01

  You're Roger Cohn's my girl.

• 50:40H. Foley?

I knew they were on a date.

• 50:41Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 50:41H. Foley?

Yeah. Or even if they were girlfriend and boyfriend, they would do it.

• 50:45Speaker 01

That I kinda get, if you're both in the struggle together. It's like if you both don't have that much money.

• 50:50H. Foley?

No, they do. These were, these were rich kids.

• 50:53Speaker 01

So this is just like perfectly your argument?

• 50:55H. Foley?

No, I'm just telling you, they were, they were rich kids. They were dental students.

• 50:58Speaker 01

I would say not all dental stu- I mean, what if-

• 51:00H. Foley?

They had nice clothes and all that stuff. I could tell they came from money. I know people come from money look like.

• 51:05Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 51:06H. Foley?

Do I gotta elaborate for you?

• 51:09Speaker 01

Have to lie anymore for it?

• 51:10Speaker 02

As a guy who does not come from money?

• 51:12Speaker 01

Yeah, you also have money and your clothes suck, so what if, what if they don't have money and they just take care of their clothes?

• 51:18H. Foley?

I don't know. They all had like Chase Sapphire cards.

• 51:22Speaker 01

That's not, I, I think anybody can get those.

• 51:25H. Foley?

I remember this one guy's girlfriend yelled at me because I-

• 51:27Speaker 01

  They have Chase Sapphire card.

• 51:28H. Foley?

This one girl yelled at me because I took her hu- her boyfriend's plate and she was still eating. Like, what the fuck bitch? Save the fucking 21 Club, honey. Fuck out of my face. She was mean to me, Luke.

• 51:42H. Foley?

He just sat there like a pussy too.

• 51:45Speaker 01

What did she, what did she say?

• 51:47H. Foley?

She's like, "I think it's incredibly rude that you take his plate when I'm not done." I'm like, "Oh shit, I'm sorry." They were fighting about something. His little dick or something, I don't know.

• 51:55Speaker 02

I love when my girl stands up for me though.

• 51:57H. Foley?

Fuck, how's that standing up for you?

• 51:59Speaker 02

I don't know, like maybe he was like, "I kinda wanna finish the fries."

• 52:02H. Foley?

No, no, no, he was done.

• 52:04Speaker 02

  Okay.

• 52:05H. Foley?

And it's, it was the kinda place where, you know, you're done, you take the plate away.

• 52:10H. Foley?

  Fucking suck my dick.

• 52:12Speaker 01

And this is where your trauma comes from?

• 52:16Speaker 01

  You're a fucking psychopath.

• 52:18H. Foley?

  What?

• 52:19Speaker 01

Fighting with people in your head. Do you have a way to tables in a decade?

• 52:23H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 52:23Speaker 01

Uh huh. Let it go dude. You got, you got fucking bigger fish to fry than fucking, than what's some fucking dental student who had, may or may not have money.

• 52:34H. Foley?

  I remember one time-

• 52:35Speaker 01

And may or may not have a little dick.

• 52:37H. Foley?

One time, they were, only Happy Hour prices were at the bar. And these fucking two dickheads came in and they sat down at a table. And they ordered like nachos from me and then they were going to the bar to get their beers. And I was like, "Yeah, you can't do that." It was a whole big thing.

• 52:51Speaker 01

  That I get.

• 52:53H. Foley?

  You get that, well-

• 52:54Speaker 01

Yeah, you can't, can't be, okay, that's way different than you of-

• 52:58H. Foley?

  But you're on my side.

• 52:59Speaker 01

  Yeah, why wouldn't I be?

• 53:00H. Foley?

  I don't, well, a lot of reasons.

• 53:04Speaker 01

You, you pull up a scroll.

• 53:06H. Foley?

None that will be named here publicly, but- I would, I would, I don't know, I don't know where you're laying these days.

• 53:11Speaker 01

Good point, good point, good point. Hey, when a big man's got a point, big man's got a point.

• 53:16H. Foley?

Yeah, straighten these two fucking dickheads out.

• 53:18Speaker 01

  That's not normal behavior.

• 53:19H. Foley?

Coming in in their scrubs and shit.

• 53:21Speaker 01

You getting mad at somebody who made us snap back? I'm, I'm okay with, but I would just say, let it go. Too, if they're, at this point, let it go. You can tell that, you can call her a dumb bitch to her face, all you want, whatever, I get that.

• 53:34H. Foley?

  She was nice.

• 53:35Speaker 01

But nobody, nobody sits down at a table and then orders beers like that. They knew what they were doing.

• 53:41H. Foley?

  They're not fucking telling you.

• 53:42Speaker 01

I'd go, do it, try it, but if you get caught, you have to go, oh, hand up, ah, my bad, I didn't realize.

• 53:47H. Foley?

I say, order from the bar and you can't sit at my table. I only had four tables up front to make my goddamn living. I had to score blow. Fucking jamming me up.

• 53:56Speaker 01

Sure. It must've been a great waiter, give you the four tables.

• 54:02Speaker 01

Fuck Follies on today, what can we give him?

• 54:04H. Foley?

  I worked the whole joint.

• 54:07H. Foley?

Somebody would come in later on, at the front section, back section. I had a guy one time be like, man, it's amazing to watch you work the room.

• 54:16H. Foley?

  Johnny!

• 54:17Speaker 01

Really, really rested on those laurels since then. One guy complimented me once.

• 54:22H. Foley?

No, it was a lot of them.

• 54:26Speaker 01

No, no, first of all, no one says you're not personable. No one says you can't work a room.

• 54:32H. Foley?

  I am personable.

• 54:33Speaker 01

I just said, no one says you're not. Oh my god, you are dumb, people do say that. No one says you're not personable, no one says you can't work a room, obviously, you're an entertainer.

• 54:42H. Foley?

I stopped after a little bit.

• 54:43Speaker 01

One, yeah, once people get to know you, that's, it's a pretty tough hang, once that happens. Once you win them over, you go, I got him.

• 54:51H. Foley?

Are we talking about power grids? How'd this get over on me?

• 54:54Speaker 01

And then, no, but you, I would, I would also say you're not a fantastic employee.

• 55:00H. Foley?

  No.

• 55:01Speaker 01

As a waiter, you get, you're a good, you're a good, your, your tables like you.

• 55:05H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 55:06Speaker 01

I would say the rest of the...

• 55:07H. Foley?

  Horrible.

• 55:08Speaker 01

You're a manager, you're not, you're not like, hey, any more work I can do for you guys?

• 55:13H. Foley?

  Oh, man.

• 55:14Speaker 01

Can I pick up an extra shift here and there?

• 55:15H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 55:15Speaker 01

Anybody need me to cover you? Hey, I dropped your food for you, you're not that guy.

• 55:19H. Foley?

  I'm lazy. Yeah.

• 55:22Speaker 01

  That's all.

• 55:22H. Foley?

Side work, I eat a lot of shit. Yeah.

• 55:26Speaker 01

  Doing whippets and a walk-in.

• 55:27H. Foley?

Yeah. Sneaking drinks, stay after work, get all fucked up. Make a fool out of myself with some regulars.

• 55:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 55:36Speaker 02

Yeah, so maybe that's what the...

• 55:37Speaker 01

You're a good, you can win a room, obviously.

• 55:39H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 55:41Speaker 01

  The actual work.

• 55:43H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 55:46Speaker 01

Uh, but that's why, that's why they love you, Bugman.

• 55:52Speaker 01

I'm not sure who they are, but I'm sure...

• 55:54H. Foley?

  Somebody.

• 55:55Speaker 01

  Couple guys out there like...

• 55:56H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 55:57Speaker 01

I'm joking, I love you too, bud.

• 55:59H. Foley?

  You love me.

• 55:59Speaker 01

  Can you cut that?

• 56:02Speaker 01

Oh, sorry. A little choked up over here.

• 56:05H. Foley?

People love me, they don't like me.

• 56:06Speaker 01

  I told you that.

• 56:07H. Foley?

  I get that.

• 56:12Speaker 01

I said that to you 48 hours, it's so fucked up.

• 56:17H. Foley?

Uh, boy. What are you gonna do?

• 56:20Speaker 01

  The boys are back, baby.

• 56:22H. Foley?

  Yeah, we're back. Let's go.

• 56:26H. Foley?

So split the checks if you want, that's where it started.

• 56:29Speaker 01

That's what the bottom line is.

• 56:30H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 56:30Speaker 01

Um, yes, I do, yes, I'm with that. Um, alright, this one, uh, this is from Clay, "Long time homie, never had one read. Not a question, but I need you guys to get eyes on Maverick, AKA the Utah Wawa. Can you pull up Mavericks in Utah, let's get eyes on that."

• 56:48H. Foley?

  Please.

• 56:49Speaker 01

  That's a pretty badass name.

• 56:50H. Foley?

  I like it.

• 56:51Speaker 01

Going to Mavericks, get a pack of merits.

• 56:53H. Foley?

Hit me on the big screen if you can. Can you?

• 56:56Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 56:57H. Foley?

  Whoa, that's sweet.

• 56:58Speaker 01

Whoa, that logo's exactly how I pictured it.

• 57:01H. Foley?

  Huh.

• 57:02Speaker 01

  That place looks fucking sick.

• 57:04H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 57:06Speaker 01

"Where's the best restroom in the USA?" A Utah gas station.

• 57:09H. Foley?

Utah, hey, we go out to Utah.

• 57:11Speaker 01

  Not so much, we have.

• 57:12H. Foley?

We've been to Salt Lake City.

• 57:14Speaker 01

Yeah, Salt Lake, we've been to, uh, yeah, we've been to Salt Lake, did we do something else in Utah? Did we do Utah on Route 66?

• 57:20H. Foley?

  Think so. No, I don't.

• 57:22Speaker 01

  No.

• 57:22Speaker 02

But, I mean, we Salt Lake City a bunch.

• 57:25Speaker 01

  Yeah, we've done...

• 57:25H. Foley?

Salt Lake City and, uh, Denver.

• 57:28Speaker 01

Get eyes on, uh, eyes on the inside of that too, that looks like a fine establishment.

• 57:33H. Foley?

  That looks alright.

• 57:34Speaker 01

  It's like a Buc-E's a little, oh, that's nice.

• 57:36H. Foley?

  Ooh.

• 57:37Speaker 01

That's real, clean. Clean as the day is long.

• 57:40H. Foley?

Look at that. The fall wood paneling? I respect it.

• 57:45Speaker 01

Yeah, that looks, I, it looks like, it also looks like it doesn't smell like a truck stop.

• 57:50H. Foley?

  Hmm.

• 57:50Speaker 01

All truck stops smell like it.

• 57:51H. Foley?

We gotta get out there too, by the way, Dakota, Wyoming.

• 57:55Speaker 01

  I mean, yeah.

• 57:57H. Foley?

  You gotta get out there.

• 57:58Speaker 01

  I'll go, I mean, we just don't.

• 57:59H. Foley?

  The great, the great planes.

• 58:00Speaker 01

  We wouldn't make any money.

• 58:02H. Foley?

  It's alright.

• 58:03Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 58:04H. Foley?

I got cash. The great planes I'm talking about.

• 58:06Speaker 01

Alright, let's see, what do we got? You got any breakfast sandwich and two eight ounce, two four ounce, two eight point four ounce Red Bulls.

• 58:13H. Foley?

Wow, they know what they're doing.

• 58:14Speaker 01

  Six bucks.

• 58:15H. Foley?

  They know what they're doing.

• 58:16Speaker 01

That's crazy that we've come that, I mean, cause like Red Bull used to be for like guys who jumped out of fucking planes. Now it's how people are starting their day. It's a coffee, it's like, it's really infiltrated. That, it's become so normalized to drink that.

• 58:29H. Foley?

That's a long haul trucker special right there.

• 58:31Speaker 01

Any hot dog, Lay's bag of chips, and a twenty ounce Pepsi, five bucks.

• 58:35H. Foley?

  Five beans, take it.

• 58:37Speaker 01

Personal pizza or two slices and a twenty ounce Coke, seven bucks.

• 58:40H. Foley?

  Wow.

• 58:41Speaker 01

Those are great fucking deal. Place looks nice, too.

• 58:44H. Foley?

I like the way they spell it, too.

• 58:46Speaker 01

  Maverick, maverick, maverick.

  Gave it a maverick.

• 58:50Speaker 01

  Ah.

• 58:50H. Foley?

  I like it.

• 58:53H. Foley?

Now we do Sammies and shit, can you order?

  Okay, okay.

• 59:02Speaker 01

  They got the bonfire grill.

• 59:04H. Foley?

Oh, and they got the mix it your way Maverick style. Go down a little bit. What do you got? Custom drinks? Thrills, ooh, ooh, oh, that's nice. A Fresca.

• 59:15Speaker 01

A golden groove, they have all.

• 59:16H. Foley?

  Oh, sweet cream.

• 59:18Speaker 02

And because it's Utah, they have like all the, the extra things, the extra fixins.

• 59:22Speaker 01

They do all the extra fixin' flavor stuff.

• 59:24H. Foley?

  Why? Cause it's Utah?

• 59:25Speaker 01

  They're into that.

• 59:26H. Foley?

  Who is?

• 59:27Speaker 02

Uh, the Mormons. They're into the soda stuff.

• 59:28H. Foley?

Oh, yeah. Cause they don't, they don't booze.

• 59:31Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 59:31H. Foley?

So they like fucking around with the sodas. A little sweet cream in your Mountain Dew, I like that. Midnight Overlook Coke Zero Coconut Syrup Hazel Creamer. Base Camp Breeze Diet Pepsi Coconut Syrup Lime Shot Sweet Cream Campfire Cola Pepsi Caramel Syrup Hazel and a Cream Vanilla Shot. Mojave Mule Dr. Pepper Lime Shot and Coconut Syrup.

• 59:51Speaker 01

  Sounds, sounds like weed strains.

• 59:53H. Foley?

  I like it.

• 59:54Speaker 01

  I said, the Cherry Geyser.

• 59:56H. Foley?

  Ooh, Cherry Geyser Cherry Shot.

• 59:57Speaker 01

  Palm Shell Butte.

• 59:59H. Foley?

Wow, that Cherry Geyser looks fantastic. You know, I like a cherry soda.

• 1:00:03Speaker 02

  And they got root beer.

• 1:00:04H. Foley?

  Wow.

• 1:00:07H. Foley?

  Man.

• 1:00:07Speaker 01

Cherry, yo, these Mormons have figured, they are fucking locked in. When it comes to the Nutty Ridge, the Bunkhouse Brew, the Red Rocket Velvet, the Red Mesa Ripple.

• 1:00:17H. Foley?

What's this IBC root beer? Local company, maybe? Shout out to it. We gotta get out there.

• 1:00:24Speaker 01

  I mean, that's crazy.

• 1:00:25H. Foley?

Where are their locations? Are they just in Utah?

• 1:00:27Speaker 01

  There's 400 of them.

• 1:00:30Speaker 01

Shout out to this guy for fuck, who put us on to this?

• 1:00:32H. Foley?

  Yeah. Look at this.

• 1:00:36Speaker 02

  Oh, they got a million.

• 1:00:37H. Foley?

  Salt Lake.

• 1:00:38Speaker 01

  I saw 400.

• 1:00:41H. Foley?

  Man.

• 1:00:42Speaker 01

  Oh, wow, they're expanding.

• 1:00:43H. Foley?

  Whoa!

• 1:00:45Speaker 01

  Where's the closest one?

• 1:00:47H. Foley?

  Kansas.

• 1:00:48Speaker 01

All right, what, 18, number 18, where's 18? So, right up from that. That's the closest one. Oh, we're driving from, we could hit one, oh, Iowa. We're going to Chicago, but then we're going back the other way. Yeah, we're a little...

• 1:01:03Speaker 01

Whatever, we're gonna put that, we gotta get that on a books.

• 1:01:05H. Foley?

Man, that's a good infiltration right there.

• 1:01:09H. Foley?

  Do one at Maverick.

• 1:01:10Speaker 01

  Do a show at Maverick.

• 1:01:12H. Foley?

  For a cherry gobbler.

• 1:01:13Speaker 01

  Uh...

• 1:01:14H. Foley?

  Wow, great intel.

• 1:01:15Speaker 01

Yeah, that's fantastic. Shout out to Clay, what a fucking, that guy, talk about boots on the ground out there.

• 1:01:21H. Foley?

Man, we just gooned out on a Maverick.

• 1:01:23Speaker 01

Dude, I like, I mean, as much, listen, I, we grew up going to Wawa's, eating at Wawa's, I hang out at Wawa. You go drunk, you go sober, to breakfast, the whole nine yards.

• 1:01:33Speaker 01

They're in me, and then we're on the road so much that like, we, we've learned, you know, the Sheets is, the fucking, all the truck stop, the love, you learn all the...

• 1:01:40H. Foley?

  Loves.

• 1:01:41Speaker 01

  Loves stinks.

• 1:01:42H. Foley?

  Hate a loves.

• 1:01:43Speaker 01

But, we find, you know, we spend a lot of time in these places, eating at these places, figuring these places out. So, to get something new that I ain't never heard of that looks that nice.

• 1:01:52H. Foley?

  It's nice.

• 1:01:53Speaker 01

  It's alright.

• 1:01:53H. Foley?

We should also revisit a Sheets at some point.

• 1:01:56Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:01:57H. Foley?

I've never really given a Sheets a fair shake. To be honest with you.

• 1:02:01Speaker 01

When we would do those shows in, was it like Pittsburgh or whatever, with that guy who died?

• 1:02:05H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:06Speaker 01

  Uh.

• 1:02:08H. Foley?

His stomach was all fucked up. Good kid.

• 1:02:10Speaker 01

He got stabbed a bunch or something.

• 1:02:11H. Foley?

  He said Earl.

• 1:02:12Speaker 01

  Earl.

• 1:02:12H. Foley?

His family, his family made money in oil.

• 1:02:15Speaker 01

I don't know like money, his dad worked in Earl. I work in Earl, my dad worked in Earl.

• 1:02:18H. Foley?

  He's a good kid.

• 1:02:18Speaker 01

He took me to his sheets. It's the same thing as the double stuff. It's like, I don't need fucking mozzarella sticks on my fucking cheeseburger.

• 1:02:25H. Foley?

  I'm with you.

• 1:02:26Speaker 01

Give it to me straight up, give it to high heat. Cause then you go like, well, what's, it's just like, you need some sort of fucking restriction.

• 1:02:32H. Foley?

  Simplicity.

• 1:02:33Speaker 01

Yeah. Give me this, I'll get a side of mozzarella sticks, that's great.

• 1:02:36H. Foley?

I would argue the double stuff is simplicity. But that's just me.

• 1:02:40Speaker 02

  Can't customize too much.

• 1:02:42Speaker 01

Thank you. Cause then like, it just...

• 1:02:46Speaker 01

The part of like making something to me is like, oh, we go to Wawa because they have a good selection, right?

• 1:02:55H. Foley?

  Tooner hoagie.

• 1:02:55Speaker 01

That means they have to do their stuff well.

• 1:02:58H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:58Speaker 01

If you can start getting fucking crazy and be like, I want fucking this on this, on this, on this, it's just like, well, there's no limit to it then. You're just like, the sky is the limit because you can make anything. And it's like, I get that, but I want to go to a place because what they offer is good.

• 1:03:13H. Foley?

Tooner hoagie, American cheese, sweet peppers.

• 1:03:15Speaker 01

Not the fucking door. And not to say you can't get crazy and do this. I put chips on a sandwich, I do all this, but it's like, yeah, you used to have to put chips on a sandwich because it wasn't offered. Now you go to a fucking New York bodega and they'll put the chips on a sandwich. It's like, you gotta do it yourself.

• 1:03:29H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:03:29Speaker 01

That's all I'm saying. Also, I'm a fucking idiot. What do I know? It done.

• 1:03:33Speaker 02

I have fucked up sheet sandwiches.

• 1:03:33H. Foley?

  That's true. Have you?

• 1:03:35Speaker 02

Just adding stuff. Cause then you get over your skis and you forget what you added on and you're like, I got the tater tots on there, yeah.

• 1:03:37H. Foley?

Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. You got fries, fucking mozzarella sticks. You got a Gatorade on there?

• 1:03:43Speaker 02

You're adding a hash brown patty, you already put tater tots on it?

• 1:03:45Speaker 01

Deep fried, deep fried. Uh, no, that's, that's where I'm at. There's like, there's gotta be some sort of like, base level, this is, there's gotta be some sort of ceiling to it. Um, because then like, that was the fun of like, oh dude, I get this and this and this and I put my own mozzarella stick on the sand like you're cra- but to the Seems unholy. I'll tell you who ain't doing that, those fucking Mormons down there and fucking uh, at Maverick. They, they fucking throw holy water at you and try that shit.

• 1:04:16H. Foley?

  Spread the weak in purgatory.

• 1:04:17Speaker 01

Uh huh. Um, alright, let's see, we can do one, we got time for one more here.

• 1:04:23H. Foley?

  Hit me Kippy!

• 1:04:24Speaker 01

This is very on the, man, there's a lot of good fucking transa- uh, what are they called? Segways here.

• 1:04:29H. Foley?

  That's how we operate.

• 1:04:30Speaker 01

Um, this is from Squid the Kid, great name.

• 1:04:33H. Foley?

  Squid the Kids, alright.

• 1:04:34Speaker 01

When you, that's a fucking sweet thing dude. Um, when you were younger and your parents said they were going to the store, what store were they generally talking about?

• 1:04:44H. Foley?

  Wow.

• 1:04:45Speaker 01

  That's a great question.

• 1:04:46H. Foley?

  The grocery store.

• 1:04:47Speaker 01

  Which was?

• 1:04:48H. Foley?

Genardi's. Or, yeah, it was ShopRite when we first got down to, when I was a kid, it was Sunshine Market and Wilkes-Barre. Don't get me started. Going with my Aunt Mary Catherine to Sunshine and then sometimes Insalaco's was another one of her grocery stores.

• 1:05:06Speaker 01

  That fucking Czechoslovakian hitman?

• 1:05:08H. Foley?

It was a legendary trip. Going shopping with her and my Uncle Red as a little kid was, was awesome. The lunch meat and all that stuff, go home, she'd hit you with a fucking ham and cheese sandwich.

• 1:05:18Speaker 01

Just like listed, lunch meat, go home. Like go home is on the list of a man, hey go home.

• 1:05:24H. Foley?

  Yeah, fucking boiled.

• 1:05:25Speaker 01

  Open the door.

• 1:05:26H. Foley?

Boiled ham and cheese, fucking butter on the bread, oh man, a glass bottle of Coke. Not getting those days back Kippy.

• 1:05:36Speaker 01

Well, you're still reaching for them.

• 1:05:38H. Foley?

  Yes I am.

• 1:05:38Speaker 01

  Um.

• 1:05:39H. Foley?

But yeah, it would be, it would be, uh, in Blue Bell, it would be either be ShopRite or going to, I'd say Genardi's.

• 1:05:46Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:05:46H. Foley?

  Go to the store.

• 1:05:46Speaker 01

  Ours was super fresh.

• 1:05:48H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:48Speaker 01

And if you went. Cause Wawa, you would have to say, "I'm going to Wawa," cause they, at that time,

• 1:05:54H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:54Speaker 01

Very limited selection. Compared to like, "I'm going to the store."

• 1:05:59H. Foley?

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:05:59Speaker 01

Wawa, at that time, was more of like a market. It was more of a deli and a market. They weren't gas stations and shit like that.

• 1:06:05H. Foley?

  Yeah.

• 1:06:05Speaker 01

  Um...

• 1:06:06H. Foley?

Wawa's business, "I'm going to Wawa."

• 1:06:07Speaker 01

What do you need, "I'm going to Wawa"? I'm not going to the store, I'm going to Wawa. So like, I can get you, you know, we can get one roll of paper thousand, but I can't get you fucking Tide or whatever.

• 1:06:16H. Foley?

Going to the grocery store, I'm going to the store. It was always stressful.

• 1:06:19Speaker 01

  You know what's crazy?

• 1:06:20H. Foley?

  Angst.

• 1:06:21Speaker 01

At fucking, uh... At Wawa's in the greater Philadelphia area, they don't sell pork roll.

• 1:06:27H. Foley?

  Huh.

• 1:06:28Speaker 01

They serve, they have bacon there, like in the cold, like refrigerated section with like...

• 1:06:32H. Foley?

No, they have pork roll in the Sizzlys.

• 1:06:34Speaker 01

I know, but they don't sell like a pack of pork roll.

• 1:06:36H. Foley?

  Oh.

• 1:06:36Speaker 01

They sell a pack of bacon. You got pork roll here, motherfucker.

• 1:06:40H. Foley?

  Yeah, it's true.

• 1:06:40Speaker 01

I saw them making a whole thing of Sizzlys. They were putting them on a tray, they were all, little pretty little ladies all in a row, fucking, they were all flipped up. This guy, taking his time, doing them right.

• 1:06:50H. Foley?

  You're standing there watching.

• 1:06:51Speaker 01

I'm standing there going, "Don't do it, you fatso, don't you fucking do it." And then he pushed a cart right by me as I'm filling up my coffee.

• 1:06:58H. Foley?

  Oh, wait, freshies coming out?

• 1:07:00Speaker 01

  I had to do it.

• 1:07:01H. Foley?

  Whoa, I'd never seen that.

• 1:07:03Speaker 01

  Didn't tell my wife.

• 1:07:04H. Foley?

I wonder if you know what time you can get there when the, when the fresh Sizzlys come out?

• 1:07:07Speaker 01

I think it depends on, uh...

• 1:07:10H. Foley?

How much meth the kids smoke?

• 1:07:11Speaker 01

Market, market demand at the moment.

• 1:07:12H. Foley?

  Sure.

• 1:07:13Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:07:13H. Foley?

Cause they dry up at that case up front.

• 1:07:16Speaker 01

Which I don't mind, you get them the perfect dryness, and I get...

• 1:07:19H. Foley?

  Oh, I like it.

• 1:07:20Speaker 01

  Mm-hmm.

• 1:07:20H. Foley?

But when you get in there and they're all gone, you gotta get them ripe.

• 1:07:23Speaker 01

  Yeah. Mm-hmm.

• 1:07:24H. Foley?

Yeah, you gotta get in there like 6:30 in the morning.

• 1:07:28H. Foley?

  Get them fresh.

• 1:07:29Speaker 01

Uh, alright, we gotta wrap it up.

• 1:07:30H. Foley?

  What a fun one.

• 1:07:31Speaker 01

  Uh-huh.

• 1:07:32H. Foley?

Gang, grab your tickets to see us on the road.

• 1:07:33Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:07:34H. Foley?

Grab some merch, you got a brand new merch out there, beautiful merch, fantastic merch, check it out.

• 1:07:41H. Foley?

• 1:07:41Speaker 01

• 1:07:42H. Foley?

  Alright.

• 1:07:43Speaker 01

  See ya.

• 1:07:44H. Foley?

  Goodbye.
