• 1:05Speaker 02

Hello and welcome to this car pod.

• 1:08Doug DeMuro?

  I'm Kenan.

• 1:09Speaker 02

  I'm Felipe.

• 1:09Doug DeMuro?

And there's a lot to discuss, starting with

• 1:12Speaker 02

  Bugatti.

• 1:13Doug DeMuro?

  The very coolest car ever.

• 1:15Speaker 02

This is so cool. So this is the Bugatti FKP Homage, which stands for Ferdinand Carl Piect, one of our favorite automotive dynasties. He is an absolute killer.

• 1:25Doug DeMuro?

  A legend.

• 1:26Speaker 02

A legend, an absolute legend in the automotive business. But this car pays homage to the Veyron, which has been, which came out 20 years ago, which is over 20 years ago, which is hard to believe. But this is a one-off based on the Chiron, but it's supposed to look like a Veyron. And they're only building one of these, and it has some annoying details that you would hate, like it has like an AP Royal Oak clock on the dash and stuff like that. But the big news is that it really looks like a Veyron, down to the wheels, like the original wheels we love so much.

• 1:53Doug DeMuro?

  This is the coolest thing.

• 1:54Speaker 02

  This is so cool.

• 1:55Doug DeMuro?

  Have you seen this?

• 1:56Speaker 02

  Yeah, of course.

• 1:56Doug DeMuro?

They, you know, every, every, we all agree that the Chiron is better, but the Veyron is cooler.

• 2:01Speaker 02

  Yeah, absolutely.

• 2:02Doug DeMuro?

  Boom.

• 2:03Speaker 02

  Boom. Yeah. Problem solved.

• 2:05Doug DeMuro?

That is so cool. I saw the picture of this last week after we did our pod and I thought it was just the absolute coolest thing I've ever seen in my entire life.

• 2:13Speaker 02

I couldn't agree with you more.

• 2:15Doug DeMuro?

It is such a neat idea to take the Veyron, which was a compromised car in a lot of ways. It's technically, it's very expensive to own, very difficult to own, and now starting to get dated. And to modernize it and update it with all the, with the Chiron improvements, but to like, keep the look. It's like all those BS companies that are making retro versions of like the Diablo and the 550, the 355, and all these things, except Bugatti did it, and well.

• 2:38Speaker 02

Right, exactly. It is weird to think the Veyron is now a throwback car.

• 2:41Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 2:42Speaker 02

But it is. I mean, it's been out for a long time, but I agree. I do wish that it were the blue, the blue and black. That's my favorite on the Veyron. But nonetheless, like, they really, they explained they went into a lot of detail to make sure everything was as close as they could get it, but just looked a little bit more modern. Like, the front grille is different, but they were really careful about that. And they paid a lot of attention to their heritage, which I respect.

• 3:00Doug DeMuro?

I'm actually surprised they were able to get this emolligated for road use. I'd be a little curious to know the story. Obviously, this car was commissioned by the one person who has it.

• 3:08Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 3:09Doug DeMuro?

And I'm wondering what their country's rules are. In the US, this car would have to be recertified.

• 3:14Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 3:15Doug DeMuro?

Because it's like a completely different design. It's not just a slightly different body panels. I mean, it's like a totally different look. You have different, different angles and different dimensions and, and materials are different. And I'm really, really surprised that this was able to just sort of happen.

• 3:30Speaker 02

Yeah, I'm not sure. I don't, I don't believe it was for a US customer. They said that this cost 10 million euros, so I suspect that it's probably staying.

• 3:36Doug DeMuro?

Well, yeah. And I think if you look at the picture of the, his, because that's the one, that's, that's not a US car, because it doesn't have the orange marker.

• 3:43Speaker 02

  DOT markers, that's right.

• 3:44Doug DeMuro?

I love this car. And I love Ferdinand Piak. And right up until this point, the only other car to pay tribute to Ferdinand Piak in its name was...

• 3:54Speaker 02

  FKP.

• 3:55Doug DeMuro?

The Lamborghini Sion, which was technically called the Lamborghini Sion FKP37, which was a reference to his initials and his birth year.

• 4:04Speaker 02

Right. It just rolls off the tongue.

• 4:06Doug DeMuro?

Needless to say, no one knows that's what that car is called, but that was technically its full name.

• 4:10Speaker 02

This, yes. Very cool execution on that car. Very cool execution on this one.

• 4:14Doug DeMuro?

This one better. This is, I think, one of the coolest cars in existence. And if it only costs 10 million euro, that's crazy to me. Like, Chiron's regularly sell for 4 million euro. This car is obviously going to be a tremendously special, collectible one day.

• 4:29Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 4:29Doug DeMuro?

This car is a reason to get rich. Hmm. I sure. There aren't a lot of things out there that are reasons that you really wanna be real. This car is one of them. Like, people think there's a lot, oh, I wanna fly private. All that stuff is either overblown, or dangerous, or bad, or stupid, or it comes with headaches. But this car, this is the thing.

• 4:53Speaker 02

Having a new Bugatti that looks like an old one, that's the reason to get rid.

• 4:56Doug DeMuro?

  A slightly old.

• 4:57Speaker 02

A slightly old one, not a Type 37, just one from 20 years ago.

• 5:02Doug DeMuro?

I just think it's so cool. I also love these bespoke cars, like Ferrari's doing this now too, and obviously Lamb- Bugatti's done it, and Lambo's done it a little bit. Doing these like one-off things for like people who are just willing to pay for them, that's like what we, what we are so into that the Sultan of Brunei did back in the day. And these companies are still like letting it happen within reason, and it's kinda cool to see it.

• 5:23Speaker 04

Okay, you got 10 million dollars.

• 5:24Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 5:25Speaker 04

For 10, you could buy one.

• 5:26Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah, I would.

• 5:26Speaker 04

You buying that over anything else for 10 million?

• 5:28Doug DeMuro?

Well, I only have 10 million to spend on one car.

• 5:31Speaker 04

  Correct.

• 5:32Doug DeMuro?

Is this one of those stupid, I live in Singapore and my garage only one space?

• 5:37Speaker 02

Some crap. By the time you get to this, you've owned all that other stuff already.

• 5:41Speaker 04

The dude's got 38 other cars.

• 5:42Speaker 02

Yeah, exactly. He has this one, to be clear, other vehicles.

• 5:45Speaker 04

And apparently the watch that's in it is like he, the owner, collaborated with.

• 5:49Speaker 02

With AT, which is a very rich guy thing.

• 5:51Doug DeMuro?

I don't even think that the watch is, is silly, even though I hate that stuff. No, because like, th- this is all about like bespoke one-offness, like, it should have like really cool details.

• 6:01Speaker 02

To be clear for everybody, it's a Royal, it's a Royal Oak Tourbillon.

• 6:04Doug DeMuro?

  Ah, Royal Oak Tourbillon!

• 6:07Speaker 02

  Which is a very.

• 6:08Doug DeMuro?

Also the next car. David Lee, hook me up with one of those?

• 6:11Speaker 02

  Yes, probably.

• 6:13Speaker 04

All right, give us our next news story.

• 6:15Speaker 02

  Oh, geez.

• 6:16Doug DeMuro?

  Good lord.

• 6:17Speaker 04

BMW, the new 7. Apparently BMW dealers are starting to really request and push BMW corporate for an X9. So BMW's lineup has X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6, X7, but then it stops.

• 6:33Speaker 04

There's nothing bigger than an X7.

• 6:34Doug DeMuro?

Let me ask you this, why aren't they pushing for an X8?

• 6:36Speaker 04

You know, they might because the X8 would be too coupe. Historically, the even number is the coupe version of the odd number.

• 6:42Doug DeMuro?

  The X2 isn't coupe?

• 6:44Speaker 04

It is coupe compared to the X1.

• 6:46Doug DeMuro?

  No!

• 6:46Speaker 04

Yes! That is their naming structure.

• 6:49Doug DeMuro?

They're both front wheel drive trash. I know that, but the X2 is not.

• 6:52Speaker 04

  Have you seen an X2?

• 6:53Doug DeMuro?

  They look like a normal.

• 6:54Speaker 04

Pull up an X2, please. I'm sorry, Ken, we have to get this right for our listeners.

• 6:58Doug DeMuro?

The X2 isn't, it doesn't have a sloped roof. It just has the two BMW logos on the outside. I'm not wrong about this.

• 7:05Speaker 04

Is that not a sloped roof? How would you describe that?

• 7:09Doug DeMuro?

  That's the new body.

• 7:10Speaker 04

Yes, what do you think we're talking about?

• 7:12Doug DeMuro?

  I'm talking about the original.

• 7:13Speaker 04

I'm sorry, do you think that we're not talking about the new car?

• 7:17Doug DeMuro?

We're off the rails. The point is, they want to do an X9.

• 7:20Speaker 04

They want to like an Escalade competitor.

• 7:22Doug DeMuro?

If you look at the, if you look at the dimensionally, the X7 is smaller than other cars in its segment.

• 7:27Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 7:28Doug DeMuro?

Uh, as a three row. However, it's also been out for six years. I would argue, just let them redesign it. We don't necessarily need a lo, I mean, what are we talking about, like a Suburban?

• 7:35Speaker 04

They, they want like an Escalade or Tahoe sized vehicle, which is 10 inches longer than an X7.

• 7:39Doug DeMuro?

Well, they, so they failed with the, uh, the XM going for a G-Wagon competitor. So now they want to choose an Escalade competitor. That's their target.

• 7:48Speaker 04

I'm not surprised that American BMW dealers want something that competes with that kind of top tier.

• 7:53Doug DeMuro?

It doesn't make sense to me. GLS is only two inches longer than an X7.

• 7:57Speaker 04

Sure, but an Escalade's eight inches longer than that.

• 7:59Doug DeMuro?

  Well, what's a Tahoe?

• 8:01Speaker 04

I'd probably the same length as an Escalade.

• 8:02Doug DeMuro?

Tahoe is eight inches longer than an X7.

• 8:04Speaker 04

  Great.

• 8:05Doug DeMuro?

They, they don't want a GLS competitor. They want a Tahoe competitor?

• 8:07Speaker 04

They already have a GLS competitor in the X7. They want something even bigger because they need to sell cars in Texas.

• 8:13Doug DeMuro?

I just, it seems odd to me. Why not just make the X7 a little bit bigger and solve both problems?

• 8:17Speaker 04

I think they would be okay with that too.

• 8:19Doug DeMuro?

  Give it a back pass.

• 8:19Speaker 04

Dealers just want more SUVs and they want more larger SUVs to carry.

• 8:22Doug DeMuro?

The X7 is small. It came out at a time when the three row segment was kind of burgeoning.

• 8:27Speaker 04

  It's Q7 size even.

• 8:28Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, it really was. But now things are bigger in general. Let's give us another, a larger X7. I'm not surprised the dealers want it. I hear bad things about the third row in the X7 as, as far as usability.

• 8:37Speaker 04

I will also say, there was news this week that Volvo is considering a vehicle larger than the XC90. And so I think there is a little bit of a push to go larger.

• 8:46Doug DeMuro?

  The XC91.

• 8:48Speaker 04

  XC110?

• 8:49Speaker 02

  I guess it's better than XC8.

• 8:50Speaker 04

There aren't odd. I guess 60 is odd.

• 8:52Doug DeMuro?

XC100? No, but, but, but the odds have historically been.

• 8:58Speaker 04

My take on BMW's naming structure is correct.

• 9:01Doug DeMuro?

It's generally right, but the original XC2 was just-

• 9:03Speaker 04

It is at this moment actually correct.

• 9:06Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, but you admit the original XC2 looked normal.

• 9:08Speaker 04

  Is there a new XC4?

• 9:10Doug DeMuro?

Uh, I think so. I think they did do a new XC4, although that car has not been successful.

• 9:15Speaker 02

You know why they're not calling it XC8? Because any badge that's ever worn in 8 in BMW's history has not been commercially successful.

• 9:21Doug DeMuro?

What about the new 8 series? The latest 8 series?

• 9:23Speaker 02

Don't want to call it a huge commercial success.

• 9:25Speaker 04

  No, isn't it already failed?

• 9:26Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 9:26Doug DeMuro?

Um, uh, anyway, the point is, I'm not surprised. Everybody wants big vehicles. Everybody wants SUVs. The more SUVs, the merrier.

• 9:33Speaker 04

  Yep. Factually accurate.

• 9:34Doug DeMuro?

That's just the truth. Everybody's upset about this. Kenan's upset about this. All the BMW people, BMW has left behind. Well, look what buyers have left you behind.

• 9:43Speaker 02

Well, yeah, I don't care. I tuned out of that a long time ago. I'm not buying new ones. I want to keep the old ones around.

• 9:47Doug DeMuro?

You know what continues to hit me as I think about this? When, when my mom bought an Isuzu Rodeo off the showroom floor from Jerry Roth Isuzu in Aurora, Colorado in 1992.

• 9:56Speaker 02

  Brag about it.

• 9:58Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, with a stick shift and steel wheels.

• 10:01Speaker 04

  Brag worthy.

• 10:02Doug DeMuro?

That car didn't have intermittent wipers.

• 10:04Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 10:05Doug DeMuro?

You had to, there was, there was an individual, like one wipe, and then there was on and off.

• 10:13Doug DeMuro?

And so you had to just.

• 10:15Speaker 02

Turn it off. I love that level of humility.

• 10:18Doug DeMuro?

That's what we could afford. Anyway, the point is, um, uh, back in that era, making, buying an SUV required real compromise.

• 10:28Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 10:28Doug DeMuro?

And now it just doesn't. And so like the reason that all these people have been left behind with their sedans is like you can get, you can sit up higher and still have the same driving dynamics, the same acceleration, the same NVH. It didn't used to be that way with SUVs. And so, then you know what your new car is? X5M.

• 10:45Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 10:46Speaker 02

Yeah, nah. Stick with my old one.

• 10:48Doug DeMuro?

There is, there is a Kenan out there who's seven right now, who the X5M is going to be his E39M5.

• 10:53Speaker 04

Or you can just have a regular X5 because it has the best BMW inline-six.

• 10:58Speaker 02

  The B58.

• 10:59Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 11:01Doug DeMuro?

I got behind a rear wheel drive one today.

• 11:03Speaker 04

  Did you?

• 11:03Doug DeMuro?

  And that's a

• 11:04Speaker 04

  S drive 40.

• 11:05Doug DeMuro?

  S drive 40.

• 11:06Speaker 02

Yeah, I understand things like things have changed and younger demographics will love these cars that are out now. I'm just sticking with my E39. I'm happy with that.

• 11:14Doug DeMuro?

Well, the rest of the world wants their sport utes. In fact, right here on behind me, oh, it's gone, is an X5. Okay, next news story, please.

• 11:24Speaker 04

Oh, Volvo must be Volvo V60. Volvo had said that they're done, they're done with wagons, but in a series of interviews, the chief strategy and product officer, Michael Fleiss,

• 11:35Speaker 04

said that yes, he thinks that there's a market segment in the US for wagons. And I quote, even interestingly, China is coming up with wagons. It's hot right now. So people are really liking wagons. That is a direct quote. There's a chance of Volvo wagons will continue and we'd all be thrilled.

• 11:50Doug DeMuro?

Wagons are hot, dude. I was the last holdout. I have never not had a wagon. I was the last holdout.

• 11:55Speaker 04

  I currently own a wagon.

• 11:56Doug DeMuro?

I thought it was, it had come down to a trickle. It was down here. It was at the very

• 12:33Doug DeMuro?

And I got one of the last ones in existence. I got the Outback here. You know, the Outback is now taller than a RAV4, taller in height than a RAV4.

• 12:40Speaker 04

  Even without the roof rails?

• 12:41Doug DeMuro?

That's not a wagon anymore. I didn't get into the specifics because I think the point is made. The Outback is eight inches taller than my E450.

• 12:50Speaker 04

And your E450 is like three inches taller than my actual station wagon.

• 12:53Doug DeMuro?

  The wagon is dead.

• 12:54Speaker 04

Yeah, but it might be back.

• 12:56Doug DeMuro?

So who's still doing wagons? Audi's got the A6 and the RS6. BMW's got the M5. Mercedes has the E450, E63. And then you also have the Porsche electric.

• 13:05Speaker 04

Other markets, there are other manufacturers.

• 13:07Doug DeMuro?

  Not many.

• 13:08Speaker 04

All of the main European manufacturers have a wagon.

• 13:11Doug DeMuro?

I know, but every time I go to Europe, which is every two years or so, it's SUV central. It looks like America.

• 13:17Speaker 04

  It's really sad.

• 13:18Speaker 02

  Smaller SUVs though, no X9s.

• 13:19Doug DeMuro?

Smaller SUVs, no X9s. You never see XC, like an XC90 is a huge luxury vehicle in Europe.

• 13:25Speaker 04

As a kid, when the Q7 came out, the first gen Q7, it looked so incredibly giant.

• 13:30Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 13:30Speaker 04

  You would see some 20D.

• 13:31Doug DeMuro?

You know, he tries to play this off. He claims he moved to the United States in like 2000, but now he's over here when the Q7 came out when I was a boy.

• 13:37Speaker 04

  I would go back.

• 13:38Doug DeMuro?

  That was 2007.

• 13:39Speaker 04

  Yes.

• 13:39Doug DeMuro?

I would, I would still go back to it. He's pleased to play both sides of this whole thing. Is he Italian? Is he American? We don't know.

• 13:46Speaker 02

  He's an enigma.

• 13:47Doug DeMuro?

Uh, yes. Okay, fine. I'm thrilled to have Volvo wagons. They're all gonna be electric?

• 13:51Speaker 04

  I mean, yeah.

• 13:53Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 13:54Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 13:54Doug DeMuro?

But I'm thrilled to have Volvo wagons. They make nice looking cars. I, I'm, you know, wagons are nice.

• 13:59Speaker 04

  I'm hopeful.

• 13:59Doug DeMuro?

I've never to this day had a Volvo station wagon.

• 14:02Speaker 04

  Neither have I. No, sadly.

• 14:03Doug DeMuro?

  Do you ever have one?

• 14:04Speaker 04

  Of course.

• 14:06Speaker 02

  Obviously.

• 14:07Doug DeMuro?

Who in, who in, who in your circle of friends when you were a kid had a Volvo wagon? We had one. My buddy Brett Shea, his mom had one.

• 14:13Speaker 02

It wasn't common in the Midwest. It was, Odysseys were really popular at that time. That was like.

• 14:16Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, you, you're too, you're too young. Like it was, you're a little post Volvo wagon.

• 14:20Speaker 04

Madison, Wisconsin, wagon central. Got a, we have a couple of friends with V70s, had a couple, legitimately two different friends with stick legacy wagons, the 09 generation.

• 14:29Doug DeMuro?

  Oh, wow.

• 14:29Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 14:30Doug DeMuro?

  Uh. When I was.

• 14:31Speaker 04

  There were wagons.

• 14:32Doug DeMuro?

When I was like 20, my best friend, Joe, in Denver, had a V70 cross country.

• 14:37Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 14:38Doug DeMuro?

Yeah. And we took that to Car Week one time.

• 14:40Speaker 02

  Really?

• 14:41Doug DeMuro?

I was driving around Car Week in a V70 cross country. 2000, like the boxy, white.

• 14:45Speaker 04

  What was the top?

• 14:46Doug DeMuro?

White, with black on the bottom.

• 14:48Speaker 04

  Oh, black, not the gray?

• 14:49Doug DeMuro?

This wasn't the next gen. This was like a 99. This was like the, the first boxy one.

• 14:52Speaker 04

You said V70 XC, of course I know.

• 14:54Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, yeah. Although the, the first two years of the then next generation car was also called V70 XC. They didn't come out with XC70 for like two or three model years after the 2001 model came out. That's something for you to look up. Uh, we're deep into Volvo wagons now. I'm right about this. You can look on our site. I bet we sold a bunch.

• 15:14Speaker 04

We haven't sold that many. It's a shame. All right, let's keep going.

• 15:16Doug DeMuro?

What's our next news story? Oh.

• 15:18Speaker 02

Ah, yes, Bertone. So for those of you unfamiliar, Bertone, Bertone is a design house from, well, yeah, it still is. Then still is.

• 15:26Speaker 04

They've got bankrupt a few times, but they're around.

• 15:28Speaker 02

Exactly. Like all good Italian design houses, they've got bankrupt a couple of times.

• 15:31Speaker 04

  Kind of.

• 15:32Speaker 02

But they recently released this. They're calling this their neo-retro rebirth of the Autobianchi A112 Runabout, which originally debuted in 1969 and looked insane. This is, this is a little bit different in that that car was, gave birth to the Fiat X19.

• 15:48Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 15:49Speaker 02

  This is, I don't really.

• 15:50Speaker 04

This is, from the side, it looks like a little like wedgie, the same way that the X19 did and the original Runabout did.

• 15:56Speaker 02

Definitely. But unlike that car, which was powered by a very small Fiat engine, which made 50 horsepower, this is powered by a 3.5 liter supercharged V6 with 468 horsepower and a manual transmission. And Doug is looking at Volvo wagons.

• 16:07Speaker 04

I'm wrong, and I apologize to everybody. Apologize to everybody.

• 16:10Speaker 02

Yeah, no, it's, it's based on the, yeah, it's based on the exige architecture underneath. But I think this is so cool. They're only going to build 25 of these and they're going to cost 390,000 euros.

• 16:20Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 16:21Doug DeMuro?

390,000 euros for an exige with a Camry V6.

• 16:24Speaker 02

But the thing that's, one of the things that stands out, there's a lot that stands out in this car. But one of the things to me is that it has pop-up headlights, which I think is fascinating because I thought those were not.

• 16:33Speaker 04

When you're only selling 25 cars, they're never going to see the road.

• 16:36Speaker 02

Yeah. If they're, if that can be done, then I won't see.

• 16:39Speaker 04

When, when your picture's AI, you can have anything else happen.

• 16:42Speaker 02

Right. You got this guy who looks like George Clooney quite a bit.

• 16:45Speaker 04

Yeah. I think it's super cool. I mean, they never got to make the original Runabout. Because it became the X19, but they never made the Runabout. And now they can make the Runabout.

• 16:55Speaker 02

I actually think it looks almost cooler than the original.

• 16:57Speaker 04

  It does. I agree.

• 16:57Doug DeMuro?

They're making 25. This isn't a news. We're never going to see these things.

• 17:01Speaker 02

There's also some Ferrari, like, what is it? Conseco? Conseco? What's it called?

• 17:04Speaker 04

  Conciso. Conciso.

• 17:06Speaker 02

Yeah, there's a little bit of that in there, too.

• 17:08Doug DeMuro?

This, we're never, no one's ever going to see this car. It's not a thing. 25 units. Is it a manual? Uh, yes. Yeah, it's easy, man. Six-speed manual transmission. Damn, I want one now. They're 390.

• 17:18Speaker 04

Euro, sorry. Dollar's a little weak right now.

• 17:21Doug DeMuro?

It's not gonna be sold in the US. Of course not. It's an XZ, it's gonna drive like a, it's gonna be tight and little and buzzy.

• 17:26Speaker 04

  Does an XZ drive poorly?

• 17:27Doug DeMuro?

  No, but it's like.

• 17:28Speaker 04

  Wow.

• 17:29Doug DeMuro?

You hear Bertone, you hear Italian, you want some leather, you want some, you want more, you want a little more to it. You want a little more car, you want a little more quality.

• 17:35Speaker 04

We think about it in different ways.

• 17:37Doug DeMuro?

Well, have you ever been in an XZ? It's not, that, the.

• 17:40Speaker 04

Have you ever been in a Fiat Uno Turbo? No leather there.

• 17:43Doug DeMuro?

No, but like, when I think of an Italian sports car, an XZ is like a buzzy little lightweight thing. That was never Italy's thing when it came to sports cars.

• 17:50Speaker 04

My Fiat 500 Barthe Cabriolet begs to differ.

• 17:52Doug DeMuro?

That's not a sports car. First off, a sports car by definition is rear-wheel drive. Or all-wheel drive, I mean.

• 17:59Speaker 04

The Honda Prelude begs to differ.

• 18:00Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, dude, yeah. There's a real sports car. It's twice like one.

• 18:07Speaker 04

The WRX STI I'm looking at, different.

• 18:09Doug DeMuro?

Or all-wheel drive, that's not a sports car. A sports car by definition, two doors. Two doors? That's Trump, Trump right? He's not wrong. A sports car is a two-door, rear-wheel drive, but, but increasingly I'll accept all-wheel drive because manufacturers have gone there. But a sports car needs to be two doors and rear or all-wheel drive. That's what I'm talking about.

• 18:27Speaker 04

Is the STI a sports car or not sports car?

• 18:28Doug DeMuro?

  It's all-wheel drive.

• 18:28Speaker 04

  It's available front-wheel drive.

• 18:30Doug DeMuro?

The front-wheel drive one is a, is a golf wearing a, with a dress. The, the.

• 18:35Speaker 04

  Yep, and this is.

• 18:36Doug DeMuro?

The WRX STI is a performance car.

• 18:39Speaker 04

Oh, well, this is a sports car and it looks delightful. And it doesn't have to be comfortable.

• 18:46Doug DeMuro?

Anyway, it's not cool. It's 25 units, this is a news story, like, does anybody care about this? If you care about this, tell us.

• 18:52Speaker 04

We talked about a one-of-one car.

• 18:55Doug DeMuro?

And, and the Volvo wagons, which they're gonna sell 2,000 of. We haven't actually covered any news today. It's a great. It's relevant to anybody.

• 19:03Speaker 04

  X9 would sell.

• 19:04Doug DeMuro?

The X9 would sell, but they're not gonna make it. So, that's zero. Well, I'm into this in George Clooney's. I'm into it too, I think it's cool, move on to the next story.

• 19:12Speaker 04

I want to talk about Rag and Bone for a second. This is a brand I've loved for years. Their stuff has always reminded me of a really well-built car. Timeless design, great materials, and nothing overcomplicated. Right now, I'm wearing their Jack Infused Denim shirt. And it's one of those pieces that just feels right the second you put it on. The fit is dialed, structured, but comfortable. And the materials are the kind that you immediately notice. If you're into cars, you know the feeling. You get in and it just feels natural. This jacket has that same vibe. The infused denim is built to last. You can feel the weight and construction without it being stiff or restrictive. And the wash is incredible. Rag and Bone uses an eight-step over-dye process that gives it this deep, rich color that looks polished but still relaxed.

• 19:56Speaker 04

Just like a great car, it also gets better with use. That's what Rag and Bone does best. They take classic pieces and engineer them properly. The result is something you wear all the time because it works everywhere and it holds up. It's time to upgrade your wardrobe with Rag and Bone. For a limited time, our listeners get 20% off their entire order with code CARS at rag-bone.com. That's 20% off at rag-bone.com with promo code CARS. • 20:28Doug DeMuro?

  Let's give us something real.

• 20:28Speaker 04

  Chuck Walla.

• 20:30Doug DeMuro?

Folks, this is the biggest news of the week. Chuck Walla, which is a racetrack in the middle of nowhere, is apparently for sale for $26 million. I'll tell you this, if I had $26 million, I would buy that Bugatti.

• 20:41Speaker 04

  Twice.

• 20:41Doug DeMuro?

  Chuck Walla.

• 20:42Speaker 04

  Two and a half times.

• 20:43Doug DeMuro?

I wouldn't need two of them. I would only need one because you can only drive one car at a time. And so Chuck Walla's for sale, and I saw the Drive posted this. You know the Drive over there?

• 20:51Speaker 04

  I'm familiar with Drive.

• 20:52Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, yep. They posted this on their Instagram. And I was reading the comments and the comments were all like, "Oh, God, another racetrack's gonna be ripped from our hands. Oh, no, developers are coming for a racetrack." Folks, I'm gonna be honest with you. Developers aren't coming for this.

• 21:04Speaker 04

Okay. It's way too, there's nothing near there, but...

• 21:08Doug DeMuro?

You've ever been to Chuck Walla, you'll know why this will only ever be a racetrack.

• 21:12Speaker 02

You pass nowhere and you keep going.

• 21:15Doug DeMuro?

But no one's living here. This, this is like,

• 21:18Speaker 02

That is what it looks like.

• 21:19Doug DeMuro?

As good as it gets for about 500 miles.

• 21:22Speaker 04

By the way, it does include the airport and the airport's included in the sale.

• 21:25Doug DeMuro?

By airport, I want to be clear.

• 21:28Speaker 04

  There's a runway.

• 21:29Doug DeMuro?

There's a runway. It's a long, flat piece of unimproved pavement, which you probably can't land a real airplane at.

• 21:37Speaker 04

  Apparently, it's in good condition.

• 21:39Doug DeMuro?

Good condition. But I'm sure the desert sun will change that.

• 21:42Speaker 04

  Right.

• 21:42Doug DeMuro?

Okay, so can you imagine weeding that runway out there?

• 21:45Speaker 04

  No.

• 21:46Doug DeMuro?

Like, the amount of, what is it called? Like, it's the raid or whatever? You're probably not, probably in California, it's been banned for, yeah, they go to Arizona, they get like, industrial sized tubs.

• 21:57Speaker 04

They go to Arizona, that's accurate. That's where you buy red.

• 22:01Doug DeMuro?

  Exactly right.

• 22:04Speaker 02

This is, this is, we've been out, you and I have been to Chuckwalla. You've been a couple of times. We did a track day video on it. We saw Nick right here in this corner, spin out and almost go into the wall.

• 22:14Doug DeMuro?

By the way, this is just a picture. There's an actual, if you're a potential buyer, don't worry. It's not just a parking lot tire thing. There's a real racetrack.

• 22:24Speaker 04

We should talk about why this might actually be somewhat notable.

• 22:27Doug DeMuro?

I don't think it's notable at all. Someone else is gonna buy it. It's gonna be great.

• 22:30Speaker 04

Okay, so the concern is Willow Springs got bought by a private equity company.

• 22:33Doug DeMuro?

  And it's gonna be great.

• 22:34Speaker 04

The concern is that the price per track day, the price per rental has reportedly doubled, tripled in the time they've owned it.

• 22:41Doug DeMuro?

  Willow?

• 22:42Speaker 04

Yeah. Which is reasonable because, well, they wanted to make money. Turns out it costs money to do it.

• 22:45Doug DeMuro?

All the more reason to buy Chuckwalla. Willow's three times as expensive to a track day. They start advertising all the Willow people, get them down here.

• 22:52Speaker 04

So there are some concerns that whoever buys it will want to modernize it. Maybe they'll want to make it safe. Maybe they'll want to add food. Maybe they'll want to add bathrooms. I don't know. They may want to do crazy things to make it livable. And then it'll be expensive and we will be out of reach for people in LA. Or anywhere else.

• 23:08Doug DeMuro?

  It could be improved.

• 23:10Speaker 04

  Could be improved.

• 23:11Doug DeMuro?

Like, the thing about Chuckwalla, I love it dearly and it's great. And it's some of my greatest memories of Chuckwalla. In addition to the track day, when we rented it out for a private track day for just us, we did video. I also, Chuckwalla was where we did the Storato launch. And that changed my life. You know, I was at the Storato launch and one of the PR people comes up to me. And it's a woman and she says, hey Doug, nice to meet you. And I, you know, people always come up to me with these things like, oh, and she says, hey, you know, she goes, my dad has a Carrera GT. I'm like, damn.

• 23:38Speaker 04

  Wow.

• 23:38Doug DeMuro?

Most people are like, oh, I got a Miata.

• 23:40Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 23:41Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 23:41Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 23:41Doug DeMuro?

I'm like, oh my God. I still remember that. It's never happened before.

• 23:46Speaker 04

Um, regardless, it's for sale. I hope that something cool happens with it and doesn't make it.

• 23:50Doug DeMuro?

What's gonna happen is it's gonna still be a racetrack. I agree.

• 23:52Speaker 04

Yeah, I agree. It'll still be a racetrack.

• 23:54Doug DeMuro?

Out of reach. However, when we went out there for our track day, we had to stay in Palm Springs, which was like two hours away.

• 24:01Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 24:01Doug DeMuro?

And wake up at five in order to drive out there and get there for the call time.

• 24:06Speaker 02

  Drive back.

• 24:08Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, and then it was like six hours back. We all went in my stationway because none of us wanted to drive that far in any of our sports cars.

• 24:15Speaker 04

It's far. It's far. But I, there's obviously some concern, like Thermal is members only now. There's concerns it's become not a track that's accessible to people.

• 24:23Doug DeMuro?

There is no situation in which people will pay for private memberships.

• 24:27Speaker 04

No, not out there, I agree.

• 24:28Doug DeMuro?

  To this facility.

• 24:29Speaker 04

Well, if you live in Palm Springs, it's only two hours.

• 24:31Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, but Thermal is right there. And I'm, I don't even think that this is dramatically further out than Willow is. Like, they're all out there. For San Diego, this is, this is a good track.

• 24:42Speaker 04

If you live in Blythe, it's nearby.

• 24:43Doug DeMuro?

If you're in Blythe and you have a Camaro.

• 24:46Speaker 04

You, they do have a drag strip. The, the airport serves as a drag strip.

• 24:50Doug DeMuro?

  Really? I didn't know that.

• 24:51Speaker 04

They have staging loads for it.

• 24:52Doug DeMuro?

That's how they keep the weeds off.

• 24:53Speaker 04

  Quarter mile? Yeah.

• 24:54Doug DeMuro?

Sean, Sean, we gotta get out here. We gotta rent this place out. What the hell? We're running this place out. Folks, it's not selling before we.

• 25:05Speaker 04

  Gotta rent it up now.

• 25:06Doug DeMuro?

I can't believe our, our beloved track is going away.

• 25:09Speaker 04

  They're gonna build condos.

• 25:10Doug DeMuro?

  We're gonna build condos.

• 25:11Speaker 04

Assuming they can have sewers reach there, assuming they can build it.

• 25:14Doug DeMuro?

The great irony is the idea of them building condos. If you wanted to build condos, you know what you'd do? You'd buy the plot of land next door, which is undeveloped and free. It is literally free.

• 25:25Speaker 04

  Yeah. Lake Timar, Lake Timorisk.

• 25:29Doug DeMuro?

All right, next news story, please.

• 25:32Speaker 02

Ah, yes, speaking of tracks. So there is a sale right now. There's a dealer within the UK that has these two cars. A downdraft Lamborghini Contra 5000 QV and this. This is the Lotus Type 102 F1 car race in the 1990s. 1990 specifically. And what's notable about it is that it's powered by a Lamborghini V12. Now, Doug.

• 25:51Doug DeMuro?

  Which one?

• 25:54Speaker 04

  Which V12?

• 25:54Speaker 02

LE3512, which stands for Lamborghini Engineering 3.5 litre V12 Formula One engine.

• 26:01Speaker 04

  The LE3512, Lamborghini Engine 3.5 V12.

• 26:06Speaker 02

Engineering, I think that's what it stands for.

• 26:08Speaker 04

We're still trying to figure out what LMO2 stands for.

• 26:10Speaker 02

Right, no, but it's just Lamu, that's all it stands for. But the reason I bring this up, I mean, it's a very, it's very cool. This, to be clear, the engine in this Formula One car was terrible. It had zero wins, it had zero pole positions, it had one podium in its history. Not a good engine, however.

• 26:27Speaker 04

  One podium is real.

• 26:29Speaker 02

Right, it's bad, it was a bad engine. But my point with this is that you have often incorrectly asserted that the Carrera GT has a Formula One engine, which it does not because it was never in a Formula One car. However, this engine, which is slightly related to the Countach's V12, was in a Formula One car.

• 26:46Doug DeMuro?

  And so, you know what?

• 26:47Speaker 02

  Very big disgrace.

• 26:48Doug DeMuro?

You know what I get out of this?

• 26:49Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 26:49Doug DeMuro?

You know what I get out of this?

• 26:51Speaker 04

They added a couple liters, liter and a half.

• 26:52Doug DeMuro?

  Here's what I've learned.

• 26:55Doug DeMuro?

Here's what I've learned. My Carrera GT has a Formula One engine.

• 27:00Speaker 02

  It does not.

• 27:01Doug DeMuro?

Sure. Now we know that my Countach has a Formula One engine.

• 27:04Speaker 02

  Wow.

• 27:04Doug DeMuro?

It does. The other Formula One engine in our group. Nick's P38 has a Formula One engine.

• 27:13Speaker 04

Our friend Nick Rocha owns a P38 Range Rover.

• 27:16Doug DeMuro?

The, here, okay, here's this tie-in. Have you heard this from before?

• 27:20Speaker 04

  Thankfully, I have not.

• 27:21Doug DeMuro?

All right, here's the deal. The Land Rover V8 of that era was derived from a General Motors V8 that was produced between 1953 and 1981. It was the Buick V8. And that was sort of derived, that was how Land Rover got its V8. Now.

• 27:38Speaker 04

It's smart of them to use one from the 60s that gets it for 20 years and then make it unreliable.

• 27:44Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, somehow they managed to screw it up. But the Rover V8 was based on this GM V8. Also based on this GM V8 was Australian Formula One team Repco.

• 27:57Doug DeMuro?

They they they used the Oldsmobile, the Buick Oldsmobile V8. It was in a Brabham vehicle, Brabham, no one cares. And it won the 1966 Formula One World Championship with the Buick V8. And I had that engine in my yellow Land Rover Defender. So I would argue I've had three Formula One engine.

• 28:18Speaker 02

I'd argue that the Carrera GT is not a Formula One engine. You have a failed Formula One engine in your Lamborghini and Nick is the only one who's won a world championship with his engine.

• 28:25Doug DeMuro?

Wait a minute, what do you mean failed? They had a podium, you said. They had a podium.

• 28:29Speaker 02

Yeah, of the 80 races it entered, it only had 49 successful starts.

• 28:34Doug DeMuro?

  That's pretty, oh, start.

• 28:36Speaker 02

I didn't say failure, they started.

• 28:40Doug DeMuro?

They DNF'd before before 635% of their races.

• 28:45Speaker 02

The engine is interesting, though. Believe it or not, Lamborghini had a handshake deal with McLaren to test this engine. And Senna actually drove her car powered by this engine and liked it. He made some suggestions. He said that he wanted a less brutal top end and a fatter mid-range. But ultimately, the engine was just not reliable. And Ron Dass decided to go with the Peugeot V10.

• 29:02Doug DeMuro?

According to reports, Senna even wanted to race the engine at the Japanese Grand Prix, believing that while reliability might be a problem. According to McLaren's engineers, the most they got out of any powertrain before failure was just 19 laps at Silverstone.

• 29:15Speaker 02

Yep, exactly. And they described it as a lot of sound, not a lot of go, I think was the.

• 29:21Doug DeMuro?

  That's the Countach.

• 29:23Speaker 02

And that is the Countach. So it's all perfect. And I do like that the Countach is finished in the same livery as the car.

• 29:27Doug DeMuro?

  Does it bother you?

• 29:28Speaker 04

Do we agree that they're using models for this? These are not real.

• 29:31Speaker 02

No, no, the pictures are amazing.

• 29:33Speaker 04

The pictures look like models, I agree. Something about the Countach looks too small.

• 29:36Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, does it bother you? I agree with you. Does it bother you that I have all these cars with Formula One engines?

• 29:43Speaker 04

  No.

• 29:44Doug DeMuro?

  Doesn't that doesn't bother you?

• 29:46Speaker 04

  No.

• 29:46Speaker 02

You ever watch an F1 race?

• 29:48Speaker 04

  Probably as a kid.

• 29:50Speaker 02

Probably in Italy. Oh, well, you were at Mont.

• 29:51Speaker 04

But my, my uncle, who lived about a mile away from the Montecirca circuit, uh, would watch them every time they were on, every Sunday, whenever it was that they're on. Who knows?

• 29:59Speaker 02

  Whenever they're on.

• 30:00Speaker 04

That and like MotoGP. So you, you get exposed.

• 30:02Speaker 02

  Wow, MotoGP too.

• 30:03Speaker 04

You get exposed in Italy to, to racing.

• 30:06Doug DeMuro?

You know, I've, I've biked over the F1 track.

• 30:08Speaker 02

  That's cool.

• 30:08Doug DeMuro?

Here's something I didn't know that when, cause the Koenigsegg CCR set the world fastest production car record in 2005, it was using a version of the Ford modular V8.

• 30:18Speaker 04

I was wondering where we were gonna get this.

• 30:20Doug DeMuro?

Which is the engine in the Ford GT and it broke the record from the McLaren F1, which was a lesser car. So I would argue that my, my vehicles, the fastest, the Formula One-est.

• 30:32Speaker 02

Whatever makes you sleep better at night, babe.

• 30:34Speaker 04

I'm surprised it took that long to get to the modular V8 because surely that's been used in like stock car racing and NASCAR. Like I'm sure it's, it has other uses in America.

• 30:43Doug DeMuro?

I think that by the time those kind of engines were out, you couldn't put engines like that in much, like cars. Like they were, there was different stuff going on. Nonetheless, uh, nonetheless, still, uh, I still have all of the great engines.

• 30:58Speaker 02

You know, you could buy a Formula One car and actually have the engine. Turns out you get both of these.

• 31:01Speaker 04

Well, you, you, the Formula One cars aren't that expensive, right? Trash Formula One cars from like the eighties are probably pretty cheap. I wouldn't.

• 31:06Speaker 02

I'm not gonna use them. Yeah.

• 31:08Speaker 04

Well, I feel, use them. I mean, put, put an LS in a Formula One car, you could use it, right? Something to think about for you.

• 31:15Speaker 02

• 32:05Doug DeMuro?

All right. We got any more news?

• 32:06Speaker 02

  Yeah, I got one more.

• 32:07Doug DeMuro?

  Uh, Whistlin.

• 32:07Speaker 04

Whistlin was arrested again. Speaking of putting engines in Formula One cars, he bought that Formula One car.

• 32:12Speaker 02

  That's right.

• 32:13Doug DeMuro?

Oh my god, Whistlin, my hero.

• 32:16Speaker 04

He was apparently arrested at the airport, I seen coming back from Dubai.

• 32:21Doug DeMuro?

At BNA, you think they arrested him? So what happens next?

• 32:24Speaker 04

Apparently he was released on a bond about an hour later.

• 32:28Doug DeMuro?

This was related again to the tax evasion on the Montana plate thing?

• 32:31Speaker 04

His Instagram post was basically, they still didn't send me a letter, they had like an additional issue, and so they sent 20 agents to arrest me when I landed. He's wearing an LA hat, which seems surprising.

• 32:44Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, this is tough because it's tough to hear about your hero getting arrested.

• 32:51Speaker 04

  A second time.

• 32:52Doug DeMuro?

  A second time.

• 32:53Speaker 04

  First time, easy.

• 32:55Doug DeMuro?

  Who are your heroes?

• 32:58Speaker 04

  It's exclusively Cody Datwiler.

• 33:00Doug DeMuro?

No, mine is Cody. Who was your, like, who would you be sad about?

• 33:04Speaker 04

  Harry Metcalf.

• 33:05Doug DeMuro?

Harry, imagine if Harry got arrested. That, that, it'd be like that for you.

• 33:09Speaker 04

He's too charming to get arrested. If Tavorish got arrested.

• 33:12Doug DeMuro?

  Tavorish?

• 33:13Speaker 04

  That'd be tragic.

• 33:14Doug DeMuro?

  Tragic. Wouldn't be that surprising.

• 33:20Speaker 04

  Arrested, bankrupt, all of it.

• 33:22Doug DeMuro?

Love Freddy, love him. Okay, let's move on to the Talk Cars segment. The Talk Cars segment is brought to, oh my god. The Talk Cars segment is brought to you by Cars and Bids, which is the finest auction platform.

• 33:36Speaker 04

  Get off of it.

• 33:37Doug DeMuro?

The finest auction platform in the history of auction platforms.

• 33:41Speaker 04

Can I also say, our app is phenomenal.

• 33:42Doug DeMuro?

Our app is phenomenal. And that is coming from an unbiased reviewer, Filippo.

• 33:48Speaker 04

  No, okay, here's the thing.

• 33:49Doug DeMuro?

  Who helped develop it.

• 33:50Speaker 04

I read a lot of the reviews that we get for our app, and they're all just so positive. And somebody posted one today.

• 33:57Doug DeMuro?

How many reviews do we have?

• 33:58Speaker 04

  Many.

• 33:58Doug DeMuro?

Of the 1,000 reviews on our app, only 860 were Filippo and his alt.

• 34:02Speaker 04

  None were me.

• 34:03Doug DeMuro?

  They're probably great.

• 34:05Speaker 04

I haven't rated our own app, I should go do that.

• 34:08Doug DeMuro?

You gotta assume the app is great if 150 of our reviews were not Filippo. Okay, anyway, brought to you by Cars and Bids. Cars and Bids, we sell your cars or buy your cars.

• 34:18Speaker 04

  5,592 reviews, 4.9 stars.

• 34:20Doug DeMuro?

That's insane, how do we have? How many, oh, Sean says rate us on Spotify.

• 34:25Speaker 04

And by that, don't rate the app, rate the podcast on Spotify.

• 34:29Doug DeMuro?

How do you rate something on Spotify? Can I rate my favorite artists?

• 34:31Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 34:32Doug DeMuro?

  Night Traveler.

• 34:33Speaker 04

  I don't know.

• 34:33Doug DeMuro?

  A hundred percent.

• 34:34Speaker 04

I think you can only rate podcasts.

• 34:36Doug DeMuro?

Okay, we gotta move on to the talk car segment. Because this is, this is not only off the rails, but ineffective. The Lamborghini, I, my talk car segment is only related to the Lamborghini John Tamarion. I had it for a couple of days as a press car.

• 34:49Speaker 04

  The Temerario, yeah.

• 34:50Doug DeMuro?

The Temerario, that's what it's called.

• 34:52Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 34:52Doug DeMuro?

Yeah. They gave it to me as a press car.

• 34:55Speaker 04

  How was it?

• 34:56Doug DeMuro?

  Fine.

• 34:57Speaker 04

When, when's the review coming out?

• 34:58Doug DeMuro?

  I don't know.

• 34:59Speaker 04

  All right.

• 34:59Doug DeMuro?

Great review. Thank you for, thank you for that. I love what you're listening to.

• 35:03Speaker 04

We did what we need to do. I, I will say, I saw it in your garage.

• 35:08Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 35:08Speaker 04

  It's a big car.

• 35:10Doug DeMuro?

It's big. The Temerario is almost a footy longer than the Huracan.

• 35:17Speaker 04

That's a large year, like, generation over generation.

• 35:20Doug DeMuro?

Now, Lamborghini's generations are a ten years.

• 35:22Speaker 04

But if the X7 became a foot longer, it's exactly what they just want.

• 35:25Doug DeMuro?

Well, no, it'd be even, it'd be too big. It'd be like bigger than an Escalade. It's a foot longer than the Huracan. It is 600 pounds heavier than the Huracan.

• 35:34Speaker 04

  That's a lot.

• 35:34Doug DeMuro?

And, and it is a thousand pounds heavier than some versions of the Huracan, like the lightweights. It is like three inches wider, which is also pretty real in car width.

• 35:43Speaker 04

  That's a lot.

• 35:43Doug DeMuro?

Car width is kind of gate-kept at a certain width for regulatory purposes. So it's really a much bigger car.

• 35:49Speaker 04

  It's 20 inches longer than a Countach.

• 35:51Doug DeMuro?

It's kind of unfortunate because, like, I loved it and I loved driving it, but you kind of see, you kind of see like car design is going in this way that I'm not, like, as an enthusiast of the kind of cars that I'm an enthusiast of, I'm not that into, right? Like, the cars are getting bigger.

• 36:05Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 36:07Doug DeMuro?

Some in part necessitated by adding plug-in hybrid and electric technology. But then, in order to overcome the weight difference that you've created, you then have to add more power. And so every subsequent car is way more powerful, way heavier, and way larger than the previous one. And if the Temerario's numbers, I think, from a percentage basis, are probably up there with some of the largest increases over its previous model. But there's been a lot of talk about the M5, same deal. They add a plug-in hybrid system, they add weight, they add complexity. Well, then they have to add power to make up for it. And I was just driving the new 992 Turbo. And that car is the same sort of situation.

• 36:42Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 36:42Doug DeMuro?

It's just getting bigger and bigger and bigger. It's amazing driving that back to back with my 993 Turbo, which despite the name is actually 30 years sooner. And all these cars, and they all do an incredible job of engineering out the issue with adding weight, but they have to engineer it out. The way that they did it back in the day was the car just didn't weigh that much, so it felt tossable. And now the cars still feel tossable, but that's because there's enormous complexity in trying to overcome thousands of pounds and extra inches and feet in some cases of extra size. You know what? It's just a shame. It's like, kind of, it's kind of sad. If you like a car that is like a tossable, fun, but powerful car, the modern stuff has left you behind, period.

• 37:24Speaker 02

Well, I think it just draws more of an interest to the stuff that's slightly older. I mean, that car makes the garuda look so svelte and like delicate comparatively. And driving wise, it's like, we drive a lot, you can do a lot to hide the weight, but ultimately driving a lightweight car just is so pure excellence.

• 37:40Doug DeMuro?

You can do a lot to hide the weight, and they do an amazing job.

• 37:44Speaker 02

  I agree.

• 37:44Doug DeMuro?

But it just isn't the same. By the way, Temerario, four inches longer than Murcia Lago.

• 37:49Speaker 02

  Whoa.

• 37:49Doug DeMuro?

  That's nuts.

• 37:51Speaker 04

The place where that falls apart a little bit, I was just looking this up and assuming you trust Google's AI overview. The Carrera T, the 992 Carrera T, is lighter than a base 997.

• 38:00Doug DeMuro?

Carrera T is such a great car.

• 38:02Speaker 04

But even the 992 Turbo S, which has a hybrid component, is only 200 pounds more than the 997 Turbo. They actually haven't grown that much. They're only three inches longer and a little bit heavier, so they haven't added that much mass.

• 38:15Doug DeMuro?

The actual weight, the actual weight of a 992.2 Turbo S is 38, 29 pounds.

• 38:21Speaker 04

So I was looking at the dot one numbers, okay.

• 38:23Doug DeMuro?

Well, and it's, that's an important distinction because the hybrid system is added. And that's part of my point. All the cars we're sitting here talking about that are growing, part of the, a part of a reason that they've been growing so much in weight is because all three of the cars I just mentioned, the M5, the Temerario and the 992, have added hybrid componentry.

• 38:38Speaker 04

  Yep.

• 38:39Doug DeMuro?

And in order to then counteract the hybrid componentry, then you have to do this and that. And you're just ended up, you ended up with a 4,000 pound 911. And, and a long 911, like the 992. It's, it's gotten to 180 inches long. My little baby 993 is like what I want.

• 38:56Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 38:57Doug DeMuro?

But it doesn't exist, they can't do it anymore. The driving a tossable car is like there's something really fun about just like a hydraulic

• 39:05Speaker 02

  It is, there is.

• 39:06Doug DeMuro?

  Relatively light tossable car.

• 39:08Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 39:09Doug DeMuro?

That's why I took that car and then added a large glass roof.

• 39:11Speaker 02

Right, flip a point to some car, yeah, just add weight.

• 39:15Doug DeMuro?

Up high, where you want it.

• 39:16Speaker 02

Add weight and complexity, that's what we want to do.

• 39:19Doug DeMuro?

  You need a 993. I would love a 993, but...

• 39:22Speaker 02

Speaking of the 993, nice transition. I recently got to spend a long time in a 993. I drove a thousand miles back from Oregon in a 993 car, 95 993 car, being sold by Carby Motor Cars, great seller on the site, it's gonna end up on Cars and Bids relatively soon. I completely agree with everything that you've just said. Driving a lightweight, simple car like that, I drove it over to the PCH in Carmel and drove from Carmel down to Cambria and then over.

• 39:47Doug DeMuro?

Oh, you got to do the driving?

• 39:48Speaker 02

I got to do the driving.

• 39:49Doug DeMuro?

It's open for the one month of the next decade, it'll be open.

• 39:51Speaker 02

Exactly, I haven't been able to do this in five years, so...

• 39:54Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, same, I haven't done it since 17.

• 39:56Speaker 02

It's wonderful, I did a whole video on it, it's on my YouTube channel, I'm really proud of it, I put a lot of like editing into it and I had a lot of fun. Uh, there's no drone, I haven't gotten to that level of production quality yet.

• 40:06Doug DeMuro?

  Strabman has a drone.

• 40:07Speaker 02

Uh, do I look like Strabman to you?

• 40:10Doug DeMuro?

  Strabman has a drone.

• 40:11Speaker 02

Thanks, and so does everybody, Kevin has a drone.

• 40:14Doug DeMuro?

  He's a pilot.

• 40:15Speaker 02

Um, but my point of this, getting to drive it on those roads, it's like this is everything I want. It's small, it's lightweight, it's tactile, it's analog, it's simple, it's relatively reliable, it just did everything. And it made me realize like, those cars are worth a lot of money for a reason and they deserve to be.

• 40:31Doug DeMuro?

I've been making fun of my car for its value, but the more time I spend, especially in modern.

• 40:37Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 40:37Doug DeMuro?

I'm just like, you know, there's something to this.

• 40:39Speaker 02

Yeah, there really is, and like, one of the things I talk about is just like, I know that air-cooled cars are a little bit more to take care of than some other cars, but nonetheless, it did it. I turned the key, drove the thing a thousand miles, not one issue, it's just the car drove flawlessly.

• 40:56Doug DeMuro?

And my car, which is undergoing a significant service, I call it today, it's gonna be another week.

• 41:01Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, nonetheless was driving just fine.

• 41:03Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 41:03Doug DeMuro?

We're just taking care of some leaks after thirty years.

• 41:05Speaker 02

It's longevity. You'll do that and it will. The difference with those cars is you put the money in and it lasts. That's the beauty of those kind of old German cars. But nonetheless, it made me develop a real appreciation for the 993. Like I, and it just, it drew, as cars get bigger and heavier, like you said, it just, that era is really special.

• 41:21Doug DeMuro?

Can you describe the transition from the light tactile analog 993 to your SL65, which is a little opposite of all those things?

• 41:29Speaker 02

It was shocking, because the career, the 993 is not base career.

• 41:33Doug DeMuro?

Does that make you want to get out of the SL65? I mean, I know you're gonna get out of the SL65 anyway, but does that make you want to get out of it and get into something that's a little bit tighter, littler?

• 41:40Speaker 02

Honestly, uh, yes. I, I, now that said, you know, you could do the Jeremy Clarkson thing where you say, well, if you lived in a gorge in southwest France, then yes, you want the lightweight nimble thing, but most people don't. And the reality of it is, is like around here, unfortunately, the way we use a lot of cars is on highways. Like to get to good driving roads takes effort and the really tight twisty stuff is like an hour and a half away. Realistic. It's an hour away.

• 42:00Doug DeMuro?

  Forty-five minutes.

• 42:00Speaker 02

Palomar Mountains is an hour. It's an hour. And it's snowing right now, so you can't do it anyway.

• 42:04Doug DeMuro?

  Or maybe you can.

• 42:05Speaker 02

I would, but it made me appreciate that.

• 42:07Doug DeMuro?

  996 to 993 Turbo.

• 42:08Speaker 02

I have to say, the 993, I would really love to have one of those cars in my garage, because there is a classic you can use every day.

• 42:15Doug DeMuro?

  It's a special car.

• 42:15Speaker 02

  If you want to.

• 42:16Doug DeMuro?

We really are a Porsche podcast.

• 42:17Speaker 02

I know, I hate to say it.

• 42:19Doug DeMuro?

I'm gonna make a promise to you right here and right now on this podcast today. I will not buy another Porsche.

• 42:25Speaker 02

That's such an easy promise to make.

• 42:27Doug DeMuro?

Except maybe a 996 GT2 one day, but I will not buy another Porsche.

• 42:31Speaker 02

  Or 911ST.

• 42:33Doug DeMuro?

I'm not interested, I'm not gonna buy a 911ST. I'm not spending six hundred on that crap. It's a cool car. It's not six hundred. I, I can't even explain to you the number of cars I would rather have before I bought a 911.

• 42:42Speaker 02

  I.

• 42:42Doug DeMuro?

It's a great car. I will not buy another Porsche. I'm saying it to you here. I am committing to you that I am leaving Porsche guydom behind.

• 42:51Speaker 04

Which is two of them in your garage.

• 42:53Doug DeMuro?

Well, I got seven. Dude, you know what? You know what hit me?

• 42:57Speaker 04

  Are you up to seven?

• 42:57Doug DeMuro?

  You know what?

• 42:58Speaker 04

My god, are you up to seven?

• 42:58Doug DeMuro?

You know what? I've had more cars, more than Porsche. I've had more Toyotas. I've had more Toyotas. I had a Gen one Prius. Never forget that. I had an 80 series. I had a 200 series. I have a Sequoia. I had some sort of Lexus.

• 43:11Speaker 04

Because we're not counting the Porsche corporate cars.

• 43:15Doug DeMuro?

Well, those weren't mine. They would have been nice. They were rentals.

• 43:19Speaker 04

  In the meantime, Kevin.

• 43:20Doug DeMuro?

For like six months. They weren't mine. What am I supposed to do?

• 43:22Speaker 04

Kevin's gonna buy three in the next year. He's gonna buy 993. He's gonna buy Cayenne Turbo. He'll buy a Macan Turbo.

• 43:27Speaker 02

Honestly, if I had the money right now, this car wouldn't even end up on Cars and Pits. I would just buy it. It's so lovely.

• 43:33Doug DeMuro?

I am ripped apart to hear this. We cannot be a Porsche podcast. Spike's already got all that figured out. I am promising you here today, except for the 996 GT2, I will not buy another Porsche. I'm not saying ever, but I'm kind of saying ever. None of them appeal to me. I'm not sitting here looking at.

• 43:51Speaker 04

  911 R's a little appealing.

• 43:53Speaker 02

I've still never owned one, to be clear. I've only owned BMWs, one Ferrari and a Mercedes. So I still haven't owned, like, I feel very lucky, but I still haven't owned a Porsche. I would like to. And there are parts that I would like to experience. But there are other cars I still love too. I just think that like that one deserves a spot in my garage.

• 44:08Speaker 04

  I'm jealous of that experience.

• 44:09Speaker 02

  It was wonderful.

• 44:10Speaker 04

How's the highway part? It's the thousand miles.

• 44:12Speaker 02

Fine. It did fine. It is definitely, NVH has changed a lot. In the 90s, it's still loud and buzzy, which I didn't really mind. I had, you know, I.

• 44:20Speaker 04

You wear AirPods at this point.

• 44:21Speaker 02

I had AirPods in exactly. I didn't have them muted, but I had like just music on that way. And, but yeah, it just, just driving it through Carmel and just, oh, those twisty roads. It was so perfect. It was so great.

• 44:31Speaker 04

  I'm jealous.

• 44:32Doug DeMuro?

It's a nice car. It's a great shifter clutch. It's really tossable, very predictable car. Porsche had done a great job of developing the 911 and then that car was like the ultimate refinement of the original 911. With a lot of stuff that they had learned.

• 44:46Speaker 02

The multi-link suspension made a big difference on that car. It just is so much more sure.

• 44:50Doug DeMuro?

Feel like Filippo's car, as much as I love it, the 997 definitely has more of a luxury kick to it.

• 44:55Speaker 04

On the subject of cars we all wish we could own, Filippo, go ahead.

• 46:51Speaker 04

Yeah, he did 1,000 miles in a 993. I did 1,000 miles in a Pacifica Hybrid. And honestly, it was great. 30, over 30 miles per gallon across that drive. It's a drive I do often. I get like 25 in the wagon, 35 in the GTI. And I had a huge china cabinet in the back, got 30 miles per gallon. It was delightful. It's a shame nobody can own one because they're... Problematic.

• 47:12Doug DeMuro?

I don't understand. I had two, two, two issues for you.

• 47:15Speaker 04

  Such a good car.

• 47:15Doug DeMuro?

Issue number one, um, what do you mean it's not ownable? You did a thousand miles. That's pretty good.

• 47:21Speaker 04

They have a bit of a reputation for having.

• 47:22Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah, but a thousand miles.

• 47:23Speaker 04

  problems.

• 47:24Doug DeMuro?

How, how, what do you take it to the dealer every thousand miles? You did, you got a thousand miles done. Boom.

• 47:29Speaker 04

Problem solved. Maybe I will own one. I love the Pacifica Hybrid. It's so good. Plug in, man.

• 47:33Doug DeMuro?

  You like how it looks?

• 47:34Speaker 04

I actually do think it's a good looking minivan.

• 47:36Doug DeMuro?

It's the best looking of the minivans.

• 47:37Speaker 04

And it's comfortable enough and quiet enough and carplay works at least 70% of the time.

• 47:42Doug DeMuro?

And Uconnect works 70-ish percent of the time too.

• 47:45Speaker 04

  We're good.

• 47:46Doug DeMuro?

Chrysler, it's such a shame Chrysler makes a bad car.

• 47:49Speaker 04

But it's such a good car.

• 47:50Doug DeMuro?

  I know.

• 47:50Speaker 04

  Also, it's no longer sold.

• 47:52Doug DeMuro?

What? Oh yeah. They no longer sell, they, they got rid of all their plugins.

• 47:55Speaker 04

It's that, uh, by the way, I was driving the Pacifica Hybrid to pick up China cabinet, but also to go to our events in Scottsdale. And I think we have some pictures.

• 48:02Doug DeMuro?

I'm not done. I want to ask another Pacifica hybrid question. You, on this very podcast, said that you were going to drive that pickup truck and the China cabinet back from Arizona with a U-Haul.

• 48:13Speaker 04

  Look.

• 48:14Doug DeMuro?

  What happened?

• 48:15Speaker 04

Look, some things happened that I thought I could get the truck started and load it onto the trailer. I couldn't. Also, the trailer is a little bit too short. I, I didn't end up renting it. I did, I, what I had committed to.

• 48:23Doug DeMuro?

All of these things were said to you.

• 48:25Speaker 04

What I had committed to last week, uh, was that I was, I was trying to hire a shipper to do it.

• 48:30Doug DeMuro?

  And what happened?

• 48:31Speaker 04

Uh, it turns out very few people want to go to northern Arizona.

• 48:34Doug DeMuro?

Okay, so you're gonna, you're gonna get.

• 48:35Speaker 04

  Non-op truck.

• 48:36Doug DeMuro?

You're gonna get the truck running in Arizona.

• 48:38Speaker 04

  I'll do something about it.

• 48:40Doug DeMuro?

You're not going to think about it right now. Have you considered?

• 48:42Speaker 04

The, the problem will be solved in the next week. Just, yeah.

• 48:45Doug DeMuro?

Have you considered getting an FKP homage?

• 48:48Speaker 04

No. I saw that news, decided, don't care. I'm gonna just keep putting starter fluid in this car.

• 48:55Doug DeMuro?

So, so, so you got it.

• 48:58Speaker 04

  Kind of worked.

• 48:58Doug DeMuro?

You haven't got it running or you have got it running?

• 49:00Speaker 04

I could get it started, but going further than that required more than I could do in the back driveway in rural Arizona.

• 49:07Doug DeMuro?

Didn't you tell me there was a timing issue?

• 49:09Speaker 04

The timing isn't fully set, but it's close enough. I think that it would, that would not be the only blocker to running. I can't get fuel in.

• 49:17Speaker 04

Like fuel isn't going through a carb, but I imagine it can clean the carb and maybe that'll work. I'm not a professional. I don't know how to do any of it. I called our coworker Colton, who is one of our auction managers and was a mechanic. And I called him and he guided me through some early steps. And then I ran out of ability. And tools and it was sudden, it was, you know.

• 49:35Doug DeMuro?

Before you said that our producer was just shaking his head. We all knew that all of this was gonna happen.

• 49:40Speaker 04

I had given up on the U-Haul plan and I had put it out to get a shipper to do it. Uh, and it was just really hard to find somebody to do it.

• 49:46Doug DeMuro?

What a struggle. So you still don't have anybody to do it?

• 49:49Speaker 04

  No.

• 49:49Doug DeMuro?

Okay. Uh, if you live in northern Arizona and you have a flat, uh, flatbed trailer or a, or a flatbed tow truck, and you want to haul something from northern Arizona to San Diego, send us an email [email protected]. That's S E A N at carsandbids.com. And Felipe will pay you, how much will you pay? We'll see. Felipe will pay you 2,600. No.

• 50:15Doug DeMuro?

Pay you 10% below market rate.

• 50:18Speaker 04

  I'll pay market rate.

• 50:20Doug DeMuro?

Well, you just said you can't find it, but to do it. So market rate is whatever the.

• 50:23Speaker 04

Even at market rate, it's real hard.

• 50:25Doug DeMuro?

Okay. Tell us about the event. You went to an event. Did you go to Mickey's?

• 50:28Speaker 04

I did not go to Mickey's. Uh, I think we have something on the slide.

• 50:30Doug DeMuro?

Did anybody ask you to go to Mickey's with them?

• 50:33Speaker 04

Nobody asked me to go to Mickey's, but I did star in a guy who has a YouTube channel about a Saab 900. I did like a pretty long interview about Saab with him in the parking lot. So.

• 50:45Doug DeMuro?

What kind of stuff did you say? Did you get into your favorite Saab, the 97X?

• 50:49Speaker 04

  It's not my favorite Saab.

• 50:50Doug DeMuro?

  Really?

• 50:50Speaker 04

  I'm a, I'm a pre-GM Saab guy.

• 50:53Doug DeMuro?

Really? You're gonna, you're gonna be a purist.

• 50:55Speaker 04

He was there in a Saab 900, an OG Saab 900, not an NG Saab 900, obviously, that he had manual swapped, because it's not hard.

• 51:02Doug DeMuro?

  Well.

• 51:02Speaker 04

Fundamentally. Yeah, I'm surprised you found an automatic, uh, but cool guy. Uh, so we, we talked about the history of Saab.

• 51:09Doug DeMuro?

What other cars showed up? Give me some cars.

• 51:11Speaker 04

All right. So the, the event that we were at was in collaboration with Avance and the warehouse. Uh, and inside there were a bunch of great cars. FCP Europe brought a couple of cars. Uh, but, but Tim from, from BB, from BBI Autosports brought a couple of his cars. There were a couple, a bunch of other really, really cool cars, including a Series One E-Type. Uh, but then outside the, in the parking lot, there were some real cars.

• 51:30Doug DeMuro?

Like a CL, oh, three CL type S six speed?

• 51:32Speaker 04

No, not that real. There, there wasn't.

• 51:35Doug DeMuro?

Like a Bentley Unatière? Mm hmm.

• 51:38Speaker 04

  No.

• 51:39Doug DeMuro?

  Like an Audi Q7 V12?

• 51:40Speaker 04

Sadly, no, but there were a lot of GT3s.

• 51:45Doug DeMuro?

Like a front wheel drive Lotus Alon?

• 51:47Speaker 04

No, though we have one of those here in the office.

• 51:49Doug DeMuro?

  Like a Mazda Navajo?

• 51:52Speaker 04

No, we did have a V across them.

• 51:54Doug DeMuro?

That's the Navajo of the next generation.

• 51:56Speaker 04

Yeah, there were truly the parking lot became a little bit more of a car show than I than I thought it would be. I guess it makes sense. People that are coming to a car.

• 52:03Doug DeMuro?

Did you like go onto the lot and like crack open a beer and say, oh, look at this Jeep Grand Cherokee Freedom Edition?

• 52:12Speaker 04

There were like a lot of really, really nice cars in the parking lot. Two police officers from the Mesa Police Department stopped by, so one guy pulled up. And I thought he was gonna kind of be a little upset by people blocking traffic turn into the lot. But no, he just pulled over, came out and wanted to talk about the cars in the parking lot and then go inside and check them out. What if that is buddy?

• 52:29Doug DeMuro?

What was his personal car? An Infiniti J30T?

• 52:32Speaker 04

I didn't ask him. I should have, though.

• 52:34Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 52:35Speaker 04

  I should have.

• 52:35Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 52:36Speaker 04

The guy who was, there was a guy that was assigned by the warehouse, there's like a really cool artist car space. Uh, that was directing traffic in the parking lot and he had a Ford Mustang GT.

• 52:44Doug DeMuro?

Hmm. Did a Volkswagen Corado SLC show up?

• 52:48Speaker 04

  Sadly.

• 52:48Doug DeMuro?

  What about a G60?

• 52:50Speaker 04

  A Corado G60?

• 52:52Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 52:52Speaker 04

  No.

• 52:53Doug DeMuro?

Boy, all the cars I want to see.

• 52:55Speaker 04

It was legitimately, the event inside was absolutely incredible. Some really cool cars, really cool people. And the parking lot was surprisingly like strong as a showing.

• 53:04Doug DeMuro?

  Nice.

• 53:04Speaker 04

There was a nice lot of McLaren there.

• 53:08Speaker 04

  And a Pacifica hybrid.

• 53:09Doug DeMuro?

Did it have a, it had its alternator was functioning at the time.

• 53:11Speaker 04

  Um.

• 53:12Doug DeMuro?

Apparently not. Can you tell us about the dyno situation?

• 53:16Speaker 02

Uh, yes. So I have a video that's gonna be coming out next week on my SL65. I took it for a dyno test, which is really cool. My car had RenTech badges on it.

• 53:24Doug DeMuro?

Wait, hang on. A dyno is a machine that measures horsepower.

• 53:27Speaker 02

Or a large prehistoric creature. But this one, but the spelling is different and it's pronounced Dino in your language.

• 53:37Speaker 02

  Dino Sauro.

• 53:40Doug DeMuro?

  Dino Sauro.

• 53:42Speaker 02

So yeah, so anyway, I um, I wanted, I was curious because I've been told the car has a ren tech tune on it. But I have no, I have documentation for everything else. I have no documentation verifying that it was added, when it was added, or what was added.

• 53:54Doug DeMuro?

Do you have documentation for the badges?

• 53:56Speaker 02

No, nothing related to ren tech. And it also, it also has the lowering module allegedly, but I'm too afraid to mess with that. But um, so I was curious what it, what power it's making. So I took it to a dyno test and I'll, I'll reveal more there, but the, the big issue I ran into was that the speed, it has a speed governor on it still. So at a hundred and

• 54:14Doug DeMuro?

But it's not supposed to, the ren tech

• 54:15Speaker 02

It's not supposed to, but the numbers are confused. I get into it more in the video.

• 54:20Doug DeMuro?

Do you have to do like a special sequence in the keypad and the center dash to enter ren tech mode?

• 54:24Speaker 02

That would have been a good idea had they done that, but they didn't.

• 54:27Doug DeMuro?

You know, I um, yeah, I've never, I've never dynoed.

• 54:30Speaker 02

  That's a pretty good point.

• 54:31Doug DeMuro?

I've never dynoed an auto car, so.

• 54:33Speaker 02

Yeah, well, I mean, it has a manual mode. You want to get to where the, the gearing is one to one, which is fourth gear. And so you slowly build up to that and then you go for it. The one thing I will say that was interesting, you see in the videos, there's a guy who had to sit on the back of it because the car doesn't have enough weight over the rear tires and just spins him on the dyno.

• 54:49Doug DeMuro?

  That's what aero is for.

• 54:50Speaker 02

You know, that car famously doesn't have

• 54:52Doug DeMuro?

Well, especially not when it's not moving.

• 54:54Speaker 02

  Right, that makes it harder.

• 54:55Doug DeMuro?

Once it starts moving though, he can get off, I assume.

• 54:57Speaker 02

The guy stayed on the back of the car the entire time, but it was a really cool experience. I've never done a dyno before. I am kind of curious now what the M5 is making, so I'm going to do a video on that.

• 55:06Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, and that will be easy to do with the M5. It's a kind of sketch.

• 55:09Speaker 02

And my car does not, my M5 does not have a speed limiter. It is a little sketch because the car is doing about 160 miles an hour sitting still and you're like, them wheels are spinning quick.

• 55:18Doug DeMuro?

And it's loud and it's, and it's, it feels like, it feels like some turbine is spinning at some speed where even a little faster and something is going to explode. And you have, there are videos on the internet of dynos exploding.

• 55:28Speaker 02

  Seen them many times.

• 55:29Doug DeMuro?

  Or cars exploding.

• 55:30Speaker 02

And they, they even told me, it's like, yeah, you can film everything, just stand over here. So if something does go, it's going to go past your head.

• 55:37Doug DeMuro?

  I'm excited to watch this.

• 55:38Speaker 02

It was, yeah, it was very interesting, I have to say. So yeah, that video goes up on Tuesday of next week, so.

• 55:44Doug DeMuro?

  On McKinnon Rolls on YouTube.

• 55:45Speaker 02

  Yes, on the YouTube.

• 55:46Doug DeMuro?

Okay, we gotta go to market report. Market Report, of course, is brought to you by Cars and Bids, the single finest auction platform in the history of auction platform.

• 55:53Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 55:54Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, take that. I don't know. Okay.

• 55:59Speaker 02

Well said. Really stuck it to the man.

• 56:00Doug DeMuro?

Uh, I want to talk about the Alero. Can you pull up the Alero?

• 56:03Speaker 04

  You're talking about the Alero?

• 56:05Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, well, I got a point to make here. We just sold an Alero, I think today, uh, for forty-one hundred bucks.

• 56:10Speaker 04

  Five thousand three hundred.

• 56:11Doug DeMuro?

  Five thousand miles on it.

• 56:12Speaker 04

  The Survivor era is gone.

• 56:14Doug DeMuro?

That's the thing. Everybody's like, oh, that's such a cool Survivor car. There's no market for them.

• 56:18Speaker 04

  Not anymore.

• 56:18Doug DeMuro?

No one is actually looking for a base model, even if it has five thousand original miles, it is just not all that appealing to people. And I continue to see this with Survivor cars. And some of me actually wonders, like, if you're just looking for a used car that will run, why not buy a Survivor on Cars and Bids? Like, presumably this has another ten years left in it, fifteen years left in it, and you just spent four grand. This is better than any Civic you're gonna find on Craigslist. Am I wrong?

• 56:47Speaker 04

It's not a bad car to buy, except for the fact that it was a bad car to buy.

• 56:50Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, sure, but like, for forty-one hundred bucks, if you just want a car to get you to work.

• 56:55Speaker 04

That everything is, like, all the rubber presumably that hasn't moved.

• 56:59Doug DeMuro?

Oh, that's an old argument about the rubber. Everybody says this.

• 57:02Speaker 02

I used to say this, but then I've driven some low mileage cars and have it had no leaks and no issues and no nothing. It's like, it depends.

• 57:10Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah, but this is a thirty-one hundred, isn't it? Is it a thirty-one or a two-point-four?

• 57:14Speaker 04

Oh, two-point-four. That's probably why it's sold so low.

• 57:18Speaker 02

  I have heard this argument.

• 57:20Doug DeMuro?

Thirty-one hundred would have been twenty grand.

• 57:22Speaker 02

I understand by design it might have some leaks because it was badly engineered, but like, I'm, I haven't run into this like, oh, the rubber shrinks and it leaks problem that people talk about a lot more in low mileage cars.

• 57:31Speaker 04

Alright, fair. There was a brief period of time.

• 57:33Doug DeMuro?

Go to the mechanical photos. We'll see. We'll take a look at the rubber. We'll take a look at the rubber. We'll assess it right now.

• 57:38Speaker 04

I think there was a brief time when it could have been worth something.

• 57:41Speaker 02

  That is clean.

• 57:42Speaker 04

Yeah, it's a five thousand mile car.

• 57:44Doug DeMuro?

There is not a single GM two-point-four liter that still looks like this.

• 57:49Speaker 02

Nope. Normally the alternars are completely rusty or caked with salt.

• 57:53Speaker 04

Oh, they replaced the oil and filter.

• 57:55Speaker 02

  Good.

• 57:55Doug DeMuro?

That's all you need. Oil and go. This car, like every Alero, is gonna make it to sixty, seventy thousand miles before the transmission fails. I think you're gonna be just fine, folks.

• 58:06Speaker 04

That car got to five thousand miles. They had a five thousand mile service in February of twenty twenty, excuse me, two thousand and three. So they drove three thousand, five thousand miles in the three years. And zero.

• 58:17Doug DeMuro?

  Where is it?

• 58:18Speaker 04

  Florida.

• 58:19Doug DeMuro?

Man, that's so Florida. I just think Survivor cars are a bargain. I truly believe this. For $4,100, you cannot buy a Civic or a Corolla. Like, it doesn't exist. It's a ratty car. Or you can go buy an undriven Alero. And in all honesty, the GM cars of this era were pretty reliable. They truly were. GM had kind of worked the stuff out. It was a pretty reliable. It was not a good car. Dynamically, it was bad. The tech is not good. But I bet you this car, if you wanted to start dailying it today, could last you longer than any equivalent $4,100 car you could buy.

• 58:48Speaker 04

  It's a very.

• 58:49Doug DeMuro?

And that's true of a lot of Survivor cars that we sell. There's just no market.

• 58:52Speaker 04

It's a GM product, so the AC is probably pretty good.

• 58:55Doug DeMuro?

Okay. Okay. Well, that was interesting.

• 58:58Speaker 04

  Thank you for that.

• 58:59Doug DeMuro?

  Thank you so much.

• 59:00Speaker 04

That is a reputationally correct thing.

• 59:02Doug DeMuro?

All right, move on to, I want to talk about the NSX and then the Amira situation. Let's talk NSX.

• 59:08Speaker 04

Yeah, we sold the NSX that's right behind you.

• 59:10Doug DeMuro?

  Behind me.

• 59:11Speaker 04

For $80,567, has 321,000 miles, just about.

• 59:17Doug DeMuro?

Hats off to Ryan for taking these pictures.

• 59:18Speaker 04

Photos look great. You did a really great night drive video in it. You got a review of it.

• 59:24Doug DeMuro?

321,000 one-owner miles. And it got all the money. Now, part of it is we did a top-end rebuild.

• 59:30Speaker 04

That helped, certainly. But, you know, the person I spoke with, the buyer, obviously, we were arranging when they'll come pick it up.

• 59:38Speaker 04

He didn't look at the service documentation.

• 59:41Doug DeMuro?

  He just wanted the car.

• 59:43Speaker 04

  He wanted the car.

• 59:43Doug DeMuro?

Damn, he got a great car then. He got lucky.

• 59:46Speaker 04

He was like, "Does it need any work?" He's like, "Look at the service."

• 59:50Doug DeMuro?

This thing just had 20 years of work. I wonder if we made.

• 59:53Speaker 04

  Super nice guy.

• 59:55Speaker 04

We, because we were selling alongside Coinbase, put in a lot of money to make sure it was perfect for the next buyer.

• 1:00:00Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah, so we lost money.

• 1:00:02Speaker 04

So we lost money. But obviously, every other reasonable human that would have purchased it would have made a lot of money.

• 1:00:07Doug DeMuro?

  Especially the next one.

• 1:00:08Speaker 04

Yeah, but it's such an incredible car. I'm kind of jealous.

• 1:00:11Doug DeMuro?

I saw the buyer commented, "I'm taking this to 500,000."

• 1:00:14Speaker 04

Yeah, he also has an Avora GT that is the same colorway, if memory serves.

• 1:00:19Doug DeMuro?

  Colorway?

• 1:00:20Speaker 04

  Red, black.

• 1:00:22Doug DeMuro?

  Damn, I'm here for that.

• 1:00:23Speaker 04

That, by the way, was previously Jay Leno's press car. It's signed by Jay Leno.

• 1:00:27Doug DeMuro?

Colorway instead of spec. I'm here for that.

• 1:00:29Speaker 02

I live in the watch world. I'm already used to it. And he's getting there.

• 1:00:31Doug DeMuro?

That thing looks so good there. Look at that. That is a really cool looking car.

• 1:00:35Speaker 04

  It's such a good car.

• 1:00:36Speaker 02

Sad to see it leave our office. Turn around. It's literally sitting.

• 1:00:38Doug DeMuro?

I know, but that photo, this is why you gotta take good photos. Cause I see it sitting there. I'm like, that's pretty cool. Then I look at that photo and I'm like, damn, I want that. I like that, but I want that.

• 1:00:47Speaker 02

Exactly. Like I said, on my tombstone, it will say, here lies Ken and he asked for better pictures.

• 1:00:53Doug DeMuro?

So that thing was a big sale. I was really happy to see that. Also because of our NSX love recently, we've had a bunch more NSXs come on the site.

• 1:01:01Speaker 04

  Couple live right now.

• 1:01:01Doug DeMuro?

There's like, there's two live right now that couldn't be more different. It's literally the opposite of the NSX world. One is a late model stick and the other one is a first year or second year tip. Both are appealing cars though. This car at 42 is pretty appealing. Like get in and drive it as a commuter. It can do 320,000 miles.

• 1:01:20Speaker 04

That's an interesting point. That's an interesting point.

• 1:01:23Doug DeMuro?

Like I think this car is cool as hell.

• 1:01:25Speaker 02

Well, you also have to imagine whoever buys it's to be manual swapped immediately.

• 1:01:28Doug DeMuro?

  Maybe.

• 1:01:29Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:01:29Doug DeMuro?

You don't have to deal with the snap ring thing on this 91. Tip.

• 1:01:32Speaker 04

  Nice.

• 1:01:33Doug DeMuro?

You're all good, folks. You should come at the auction and be like, does it have a snap ring?

• 1:01:37Speaker 04

Can I say about the, the buyer of the one that we just sold? He also, he told me on the phone that he has a Z31 and a Z32.

• 1:01:43Doug DeMuro?

  Oh wow. Z31, wow.

• 1:01:45Speaker 04

Wow. Right. He has a, he has an FDR X7.

• 1:01:48Doug DeMuro?

Damn. He's doing the, he's got a super.

• 1:01:50Speaker 04

  He has an Evo 6.

• 1:01:51Doug DeMuro?

Does he have a Mark IV?

• 1:01:53Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:01:54Doug DeMuro?

  Got Evo 6 though.

• 1:01:55Speaker 04

  He's looking for a Diablo.

• 1:01:57Doug DeMuro?

  Wow. He's a 90's man.

• 1:01:58Speaker 04

  Questionable choice.

• 1:01:59Speaker 02

  This guy has taste.

• 1:02:00Speaker 04

  But he's got taste.

• 1:02:01Doug DeMuro?

He's a 90's guy. Get him into a mega, dude.

• 1:02:04Speaker 04

A mega cruiser would work. He did say he has an Ineos Grenadier. So maybe a mega is like a upgrade.

• 1:02:09Doug DeMuro?

Ineos Grenadier is like a mega for people who aren't ready.

• 1:02:13Speaker 02

I mean, I aren't ready to not be able to do the speed limit.

• 1:02:18Doug DeMuro?

I drove the speed limit in a mega.

• 1:02:19Speaker 04

  It has a 99.

• 1:02:20Speaker 02

  Downhill with wind?

• 1:02:22Doug DeMuro?

It was it was lower speed road.

• 1:02:23Speaker 02

  Yeah, huh? That's right.

• 1:02:25Doug DeMuro?

But remember, the guy who was but bought the mega that I reviewed drove it from Denver to Seattle.

• 1:02:29Speaker 02

Yeah, just because he did it didn't mean it was like fun or enjoyable.

• 1:02:32Doug DeMuro?

I think about that like pretty often. I thought about it yesterday. It just like came into my mind. That guy drove that mega from Denver to Seattle.

• 1:02:38Speaker 02

How far into that drive do you think he was? And he was like, oh, man, I've made a mistake. Should have shipped this thing.

• 1:02:42Doug DeMuro?

Littleton when he was in Littleton. Okay, the other thing I want to talk about is Amiras. Can you hit me with an Amira? Yeah, all right. Amiras.

• 1:02:49Speaker 04

  Amira.

• 1:02:50Doug DeMuro?

Eighty five grand is what an Amira is, regardless of how you spell it. Eighty five grand?

• 1:02:56Speaker 04

That is what a manual Amira is. They're all between eighty five and ninety.

• 1:02:59Doug DeMuro?

Here's a here's an interesting Lotus. That's too much. Thought. Okay, keep going. The company has been in bankruptcy or near it since I've been alive. The cars all are incredibly desirable. I know. How does? They retain their value.

• 1:03:12Speaker 04

I see MSRP was higher. MSRP was in the low 100. Sorry, for this specific car, that one that sold for eighty six. MSRP was ninety six. So they've lost a little bit. They're not above market.

• 1:03:22Doug DeMuro?

Like, I would assume that this car is gonna plummet. Really wanted it to because I really want an Amira. Yeah.

• 1:03:28Speaker 02

  I also.

• 1:03:28Doug DeMuro?

None of them are selling for cheap.

• 1:03:29Speaker 04

No, the G was always was an automatic that that failed to sell at eighty two, which honestly seems like a good price.

• 1:03:35Speaker 02

I mean, well, part of it is I think it is a really good car.

• 1:03:39Doug DeMuro?

  It is.

• 1:03:39Speaker 04

That was an automatic four cylinder. That should have sold.

• 1:03:42Speaker 02

Yeah, that should have. Everybody I have talked to who has one loves it.

• 1:03:45Doug DeMuro?

  Yes, they're good.

• 1:03:47Speaker 02

And I genuinely think they're good cars. So I think the market is clearly speaking like they are desirable.

• 1:03:52Doug DeMuro?

But it's weird because then why do we always hear that Lotus is going out of business, gone out of business, dying?

• 1:03:57Speaker 02

The company poorly manages its finances. The product is good, but how they spend their money is poor.

• 1:04:03Doug DeMuro?

Even Evoras are hold their value like to a crazy level.

• 1:04:06Speaker 04

It's really annoying. Evora GTs and Evora 400s, which are the ones you want, are too expensive.

• 1:04:10Doug DeMuro?

I want any Evora and they're all Suzuki every.

• 1:04:13Speaker 02

  Sorry, I don't know.

• 1:04:14Doug DeMuro?

  God, take that off.

• 1:04:16Speaker 02

  Why change that?

• 1:04:17Speaker 04

A two plus two or an S, which were the early ones, are in the 40s and 50s.

• 1:04:22Doug DeMuro?

That's real money, though. A Cayman.

• 1:04:24Speaker 04

  Seventy.

• 1:04:25Doug DeMuro?

This is more money than a Cayman from this era. An eleven Cayman is not forty three thousand dollars.

• 1:04:29Speaker 04

They retain their value too well. It's really annoying. As somebody that wants a cheap one.

• 1:04:33Doug DeMuro?

  Just forty three thousand dollars.

• 1:04:35Speaker 02

  I think it's because they're just.

• 1:04:36Doug DeMuro?

  Decent car.

• 1:04:37Speaker 04

Especially the GT and the 400s are.

• 1:04:39Doug DeMuro?

  That looks so valuable.

• 1:04:40Speaker 04

  That was a wrap.

• 1:04:41Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, I love that. Why didn't they do that?

• 1:04:43Speaker 04

  That's just cool.

• 1:04:44Doug DeMuro?

  That should be OE.

• 1:04:45Speaker 04

  Lotus's hold their values.

• 1:04:47Doug DeMuro?

  Lotus's hold their values?

• 1:04:48Speaker 04

  Except, of course, for the.

• 1:04:51Doug DeMuro?

  Esprit?

• 1:04:51Speaker 04

  Alita.

• 1:04:53Doug DeMuro?

That hasn't held its value new. Actually, that's gonna hold its value pretty well based relative to the transaction price. There's a 250 sticker, but they're gonna transact at 80.

• 1:05:00Speaker 04

They can't because Lotus's have to pay 125 grand in tariffs to import it. It's gonna be tougher than the seller.

• 1:05:06Doug DeMuro?

  It is crazy.

• 1:05:07Speaker 04

  They're too expensive.

• 1:05:07Doug DeMuro?

I do think that a huge part of why these cars hold their value so well is the Toyota powertrains. Or in the case of the Amira, it's a Toyota powertrain or a Mercedes one, right? Depending on which version you get.

• 1:05:17Speaker 04

Also, they're just competent, real sports cars. But even by your definition from earlier, they're real sports cars.

• 1:05:22Doug DeMuro?

And they all look very exotic.

• 1:05:24Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:05:24Doug DeMuro?

This is not my definition, like I just made it up. A sports car is two doors, rear all-wheel drive, and in my opinion, it should be two seats. Should be two seats.

• 1:05:35Speaker 04

  911?

• 1:05:35Doug DeMuro?

Should not sports car. Should be two seats, should be rear-wheel drive, but I make exceptions when I need to on the all-wheel drive and on the 2+2. But they all have two doors. There is no three-door sports car. Sorry, RX8.

• 1:05:51Speaker 04

Every Dodge Challenger V6 sports car?

• 1:05:53Doug DeMuro?

  No, I didn't say every.

• 1:05:55Speaker 04

  Oh.

• 1:05:55Doug DeMuro?

  I didn't say every.

• 1:05:56Speaker 04

  Just to be that.

• 1:05:58Doug DeMuro?

To be that, it has to be. That doesn't mean that that.

• 1:06:00Speaker 04

  Why isn't a V6 Challenger a sports car?

• 1:06:02Doug DeMuro?

  It's not a sports car.

• 1:06:03Speaker 04

  Why?

• 1:06:03Doug DeMuro?

Because, listen, Filippo, I know it when I see it.

• 1:06:06Speaker 04

  Yeah, okay. Yeah, helpful.

• 1:06:08Doug DeMuro?

Why don't you go car by car and I'll tell you what's a sport car and what's not, alright?

• 1:06:12Speaker 04

It's not. That seems like a bad idea.

• 1:06:13Doug DeMuro?

  Ah.

• 1:06:13Speaker 04

  Disaster. We're gonna get emails.

• 1:06:15Doug DeMuro?

It harkens back to the MGs, okay? Those were sports cars. They were two-seat, two-door, rear-wheel drive. That was a sports car. Now, we've expanded the definition a little bit over the years.

• 1:06:24Speaker 04

Every car, basically, was rear-wheel drive and.

• 1:06:28Doug DeMuro?

  Were they two-seat and two-doors?

• 1:06:29Speaker 04

  Many were.

• 1:06:30Doug DeMuro?

Many were, like MGs. And they were convertibles. You know, I, at some point, had a purist definition of what a sports car should even be a convertible. It had to be a convertible, but I've let that go, even though I still think that preferably a sports car has an open roof.

• 1:06:43Speaker 04

  Really?

• 1:06:43Doug DeMuro?

The Miata is a sports car.

• 1:06:44Speaker 04

Hey, when was the last time the roof was off on any of your cars?

• 1:06:47Doug DeMuro?

  What do you mean?

• 1:06:47Speaker 04

  Ford GT?

• 1:06:48Doug DeMuro?

  Every week.

• 1:06:51Doug DeMuro?

All right, Kenan, speaking of market, Port, what do you got?

• 1:06:53Speaker 02

Uh, yes, so I recently did another video on the Cars and Bids YouTube channel on this Jaguar XK140. The one, now, this is an SE, which is very special. So the SE stands for Special Equipment. In the US, they're all called something slightly different, but this one was actually called an SE. But the big thing this one got is got the Jaguar C-Type head, which is very desirable. The way you can tell it's got the C-Type heads is right in the middle, it has a C that's cast out. They're all red at the end. There's also some markings on it that shows that it's got...

• 1:07:19Speaker 04

  Type C.

• 1:07:19Speaker 02

Uh, yeah, I took a picture of it, it's in here somewhere. But this car, I was shocked. I have almost completely ignored cars in the 1950s because I just... This is not like particularly interesting to me. Then I drove it and I'm like, this is such an experience. There is, it is so raw, but, and it's just so beautiful and so fun. And it's like, I understand that, like, and I say this in the video, I understand that like modern, younger enthusiasts, like, I mean, from financial constraint points alone, like, having one car is enough, having two is kind of like untenable for a lot of people. I totally get that.

• 1:07:50Speaker 04

Yeah, I only own four cars right now.

• 1:07:52Speaker 02

But if you have a little bit more money, right, exactly, I mean, Fleepo's rich over here. But if you, if you have a lot of, if you have more room in the garage and a little bit more money to spend, this offers an experience like nothing else, and I think that these are relative bargains, given how cool they are. I think it's one of those beautiful cars, it's historically important, it was fun to drive, it's relatively quick, and it just, I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it.

• 1:08:11Doug DeMuro?

Good cars, I also kind of turned my back on a lot of 50, 60 stuff, but good cars in that era are really good.

• 1:08:17Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:08:17Doug DeMuro?

A Goldwing is like a really good car.

• 1:08:20Speaker 02

Yep, I still haven't driven one, so I can't say.

• 1:08:21Doug DeMuro?

But it's the same kind of idea, like, cars that were good, that were well engineered, that were just, are good. They may not be as usable, like, the Daytona was a special, like, these, there are cars in that era that I now even look at and think, should I?

• 1:08:34Speaker 02

Yep, it has real, the Countach opened our eyes to these older cars, true.

• 1:08:39Doug DeMuro?

No one in our friend group had a car that old, or even close to that old, until I got the Countach.

• 1:08:43Speaker 02

Or would have even considered, but now it's like, I look at...

• 1:08:45Doug DeMuro?

And then it's like, well, if I'm already dealing with carbs, you know, what else should I, you know, how, and it hasn't been so bad, like, what else is out there? And then you start thinking about Daytonas, then you start thinking about these, then you start thinking about Dinos.

• 1:08:56Speaker 02

On the E-Type that you recently did a video, like, that... Car, I was shocked at how nice that car drove like they really it also underscored at one point Jag was making some of the best cars in the world. They really were because they won Le Mans nineteen fifty one nineteen fifty three with the C type. This car was one of the fastest cars on the planet. It was just like so far ahead of its time. My favorite thing and this is like I could talk about this car forever. In the nineteen fifties Jag was really into setting speed records. They really wanted like prove that the cars were durable, reliable and fast. And one of the things they did with an with an XK was they took it and a guy had driven it for I think it was a hundred miles and over a hundred miles an hour for twenty four hours. Only stopping to change the the driver like they changed and one of the drivers got and said this car is so solid you could do this for a week.

• 1:09:41Speaker 02

And so Jag was like, you know what? Let's do that. And so they did exactly that and they drove one for an entire week. And I think at one point it had suspension issues, but they just kept going. And it's it's did it seventeen thousand miles, but it was constantly running for a week, only stopping for fuel and to change drivers. That was it.

• 1:09:59Doug DeMuro?

  Wild.

• 1:10:00Speaker 02

Yeah, now when we think Jag, it's like reliability doesn't is not, but at the time it was like, and this should have been the E type was great. And if only they continued that upward trajectory, but they lost the plot somewhere after the XJ two twenty and like I think.

• 1:10:15Doug DeMuro?

They definitely lost the plot late in the.

• 1:10:17Speaker 02

I think the for me, I think it was the XJS is where.

• 1:10:20Doug DeMuro?

When the XJS came out, it was it was kind of the beginning of the end for Jaguar, but there had been a lot of political change. I mean, that there was a fuel shortage that life was different.

• 1:10:29Speaker 02

Definitely, but I can recognize that the the the XJ two twenty and like the XJR fifteen are very special, really incredible automobiles.

• 1:10:37Doug DeMuro?

As is the XE project eight.

• 1:10:39Speaker 02

Yes, Harry Metcalf, but I think but this to me. Was just such an experience and a lot of people commented, it's finally nice to see Ken review a car from his era.

• 1:10:50Speaker 02

  Which I, yeah, I don't disagree.

• 1:10:53Doug DeMuro?

I'm glad you liked it so much. I totally agree. I think that really well done cars from this era are do really are surprisingly enjoyable. It's an era that I had completely cast aside until I actually drove some well done cars from this era. And you remember people drove these like around like it's. Now it's looked at as such an imposition to drive an old. But actually, these were people drove them like it was doable and you could do it again.

• 1:11:14Speaker 02

This is my uncle's first car was an XK1.

• 1:11:16Doug DeMuro?

  Really?

• 1:11:16Speaker 02

Which was having driven it, I was like, I don't know how the hell he drove that every day. Nice. Yeah, well, Uncle Chuck, he's a killer. But yeah, go check out this auction, go watch the video. And this is also from Car by Motor Cars, another great seller, so.

• 1:11:28Doug DeMuro?

All right, we got to move on to questions, questions, questions, folks. We had great questions this week. And you too can ask us questions. You go to carsandbids.com, you click on the community tab. There's the cars and bids questions area. Yep. And you click on this and you ask a question. I looked through every single question, every one to find the finest, best questions. And so even if it's late in the week, ask your question, you might be answered. I ask, I am answering some questions this week that got zero upvotes.

• 1:11:54Speaker 04

  Whoa, we're going controversial here.

• 1:11:56Doug DeMuro?

We're going, I just wanted to get the good stuff. Sean's coming to tell us. First question from big boy car lover, big boy car lover. Douglas, you take pride in having owned a wide range of vehicles, but there is something you've never had a pickup truck. If you had to buy a truck, old or new, to go with your current fleet, what would you get? I want to be clear, is it true that I haven't had a pickup truck? That might be true, but I had a Hummer.

• 1:12:22Speaker 04

  Wagon.

• 1:12:23Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, but, you know. Guys in pickup trucks are driving a Rolls Royce compared to that thing.

• 1:12:30Speaker 04

What would you have? You'd have a Ridgeline.

• 1:12:32Doug DeMuro?

Oh, we forgot to talk about the Ridgeline. No, I would never in my life ever consider a Honda Ridgeline.

• 1:12:38Speaker 04

What about a Subaru Baja? What about a Brat?

• 1:12:41Doug DeMuro?

  No.

• 1:12:42Speaker 04

  What about a Hyundai?

• 1:12:44Doug DeMuro?

Toyota trucks, I sometimes think about a four door Tacoma.

• 1:12:49Doug DeMuro?

I like the new Frontier, kinda. I like a small, midsize kind of Japanese truck. I like.

• 1:12:53Speaker 04

  The new Frontier is great.

• 1:12:54Doug DeMuro?

I'm not, I don't need a big truck. Like I can't justify or need a big truck. I like the Ranger a lot, the new one and the old one. The one that came out in 19 and.

• 1:13:02Speaker 04

Well, the one that came out in 19 really came out in like 2012.

• 1:13:05Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, but that was a great truck and it was a great powertrain. That turbo four was a great engine.

• 1:13:10Speaker 04

  Diesel Colorado?

• 1:13:12Doug DeMuro?

I don't know. Chevy's, the Chevy trucks have never been as appealing.

• 1:13:15Speaker 04

Wow, you're a Ford man. Dodge Dakota convertible.

• 1:13:18Speaker 02

  He's a Toyota man for.

• 1:13:19Speaker 04

  Dodge Dakota.

• 1:13:20Doug DeMuro?

  I would get a Toyota.

• 1:13:21Speaker 04

  Convertible.

• 1:13:23Doug DeMuro?

  No. No. No.

• 1:13:27Speaker 02

Felipe was genuinely upset about this. I've never seen him so angry.

• 1:13:30Speaker 04

Pull up the Dodge Dakota convertible if you posted.

• 1:13:31Doug DeMuro?

I would, if I had to buy any of the full-size trucks, yeah, I'd probably get an F-150 over a Silverado.

• 1:13:36Speaker 04

  Yeah, who wouldn't?

• 1:13:36Doug DeMuro?

And I would probably get a Ram over both of them if it wasn't.

• 1:13:39Speaker 04

  We've wasted so many.

• 1:13:40Speaker 02

  Yeah, I want the.

• 1:13:42Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, a Ram is, the Ram.

• 1:13:43Speaker 04

Shelby Dakota is a different situation.

• 1:13:45Speaker 02

  That's legit.

• 1:13:46Doug DeMuro?

You know, one thing that has never really appealed to me has been the high-performance trucks. Like, I've never, like, Nick wants a Ram SRT10, a Raptor TRX. I like all those.

• 1:13:56Speaker 04

  It's not you.

• 1:13:57Doug DeMuro?

Never really been into, like, the concept of actually going.

• 1:13:59Speaker 04

Your SUVs have camel fenders, but you're not that January 6th.

• 1:14:03Doug DeMuro?

Right, right, right, right, right. I'm trying to think, is there anything else that I should be thinking of? Oh, an X-Class.

• 1:14:11Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:14:11Doug DeMuro?

  Pull up an X-Class.

• 1:14:12Speaker 02

Oh, I'm familiar with the X.

• 1:14:13Speaker 04

We don't talk about the Amrock.

• 1:14:15Doug DeMuro?

  The X-Class I would buy.

• 1:14:16Speaker 04

It was based on the Amrock, right?

• 1:14:17Doug DeMuro?

No, it was based on the Nissan Navara.

• 1:14:19Speaker 04

That's right, it was based on a Navar, but isn't the Amrock also based?

• 1:14:22Doug DeMuro?

There's a lot of, like, development sharing in the European.

• 1:14:25Speaker 02

I remember doing a presentation in college about that.

• 1:14:27Doug DeMuro?

You know where I saw one of these? Bratislava.

• 1:14:30Speaker 04

  Wow, really?

• 1:14:32Speaker 02

  I saw one in Durban.

• 1:14:33Doug DeMuro?

  You gotta be pretty legit.

• 1:14:34Speaker 04

Wait, I have one for you.

• 1:14:35Doug DeMuro?

To be seeing an X-Class in Bratislava. Any of you viewers out there ever seen an X-Class in Bratislava?

• 1:14:42Speaker 02

  Shout out to Bratislava.

• 1:14:43Doug DeMuro?

You know what they make in Bratislava? The Cayenne. All right, let's move on to the next question.

• 1:14:47Speaker 04

Please pull up the, like, 2000 Fiat Strada.

• 1:14:51Doug DeMuro?

Oh, yeah, I do like the little trucks, the little Mexico trucks, the little Latin America trucks. I do like those.

• 1:14:56Speaker 04

Look at that, that yellow one, far left.

• 1:14:58Doug DeMuro?

I don't like those, but the current ones.

• 1:15:00Speaker 04

  They're atrocious.

• 1:15:01Doug DeMuro?

  What's the, the Ram 700?

• 1:15:03Speaker 04

  Or the Ram Rampage.

• 1:15:04Doug DeMuro?

You know how it's the Ram 1500? In Mexico, they sell the Ram 700, and I actually really legit like that.

• 1:15:10Speaker 04

  Yeah, it's a cool truck.

• 1:15:10Doug DeMuro?

That's also the Fiat Strada, right?

• 1:15:12Speaker 04

  Ah, yeah.

• 1:15:13Doug DeMuro?

  That's a cool truck.

• 1:15:15Speaker 04

But we only think about the 2000 Fiat.

• 1:15:16Doug DeMuro?

Oh, I like the Maverick a lot. I like a hybrid.

• 1:15:17Speaker 04

  The Maverick is great.

• 1:15:18Doug DeMuro?

There's a lot of trucks I would get. It's just never happened, but it will someday. I love that Ranger.

• 1:15:22Speaker 04

  Well, no, it won't.

• 1:15:22Doug DeMuro?

  Will it? Why would it?

• 1:15:23Speaker 04

  Why would it happen?

• 1:15:24Doug DeMuro?

Because, dude, I gotta transport materials. All right, next question. From Robio Math. Doug, Phil, Filippo, and Kenan, let's hear how fast you've driven and what vehicle you were driving. Fastest you've driven?

• 1:15:37Speaker 02

Uh, in Mexico, of course. 160 miles an hour in the, uh, in the SL65.

• 1:15:42Doug DeMuro?

You drove, you've been 160 in your SL65?

• 1:15:45Speaker 02

  Yeah, in Mexico.

• 1:15:46Doug DeMuro?

  Oh, my God.

• 1:15:47Speaker 04

  Close by.

• 1:15:48Doug DeMuro?

  It's easy.

• 1:15:48Speaker 02

  It moves.

• 1:15:49Doug DeMuro?

  You're insane.

• 1:15:50Speaker 02

It's fast. My M5 was not far behind. I have done 150 something.

• 1:15:54Doug DeMuro?

  You're gonna kill somebody.

• 1:15:55Speaker 02

Nah, there's no way around it.

• 1:15:56Doug DeMuro?

  What about you?

• 1:15:56Speaker 04

  I don't know. I can't think of, there's not like a number that's sticking out my mind.

• 1:15:59Doug DeMuro?

I did 160 on the Autobahn on a Cayenne Turbo.

• 1:16:03Speaker 02

Oh, I did clatter into the limiter a couple, and was 155 is where the X3 limiter. X3 M50i on the Autobahn.

• 1:16:10Doug DeMuro?

  That's fast.

• 1:16:10Speaker 04

I had 150 kilometers many times.

• 1:16:13Doug DeMuro?

I'll tell you something, 160 is a lot. I did it in a Cayenne Turbo. I did it like three times in the same Cayenne Turbo. Uh, which was actually, let's, check this out. It was actually a Gen 957 or whatever the, 9PA is correct. It was like a 2010.

• 1:16:29Speaker 04

So a faith lift first gen.

• 1:16:31Doug DeMuro?

First gen. Turbo S on the Autobahn going 100.

• 1:16:34Speaker 04

  Five speed automatic.

• 1:16:35Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 1:16:36Speaker 04

Yeah. I'm stunned it's geared high enough to do that.

• 1:16:39Doug DeMuro?

It goes. It goes. And I had an open stretch. I was there. I was with some sort of business trip with Porsche. And they gave us, that was like our car that we all were sharing, the four Americans who had come. And I got it for some, for some afternoon. They all had some meeting that I didn't have. And I took it out and passed Stuttgart out into the country and I just let it go and I got up to 160.

• 1:16:59Speaker 02

Know exactly the stretch you did it on.

• 1:17:01Doug DeMuro?

  It's like terrifying.

• 1:17:03Speaker 02

I think it's great. I didn't find anything scary about it.

• 1:17:05Doug DeMuro?

It was the winter and, um.

• 1:17:07Speaker 02

  That, okay.

• 1:17:08Speaker 04

So you're doing it on snow tires that are rated to go 120.

• 1:17:11Doug DeMuro?

You know, I didn't think about that. It probably was on snow tires. That literally didn't cross my mind until this moment.

• 1:17:16Speaker 04

  It was also there.

• 1:17:17Doug DeMuro?

  Definitely was.

• 1:17:18Speaker 04

  Yeah. It's required.

• 1:17:20Speaker 02

I don't go that fast very often, but as you, before I do, like I do a whole series of checks and like make sure it's, like, there's a lot of.

• 1:17:26Doug DeMuro?

Do you put the speed key in?

• 1:17:28Speaker 02

If it had one. Fortunately it doesn't, but I would if it did. I like procedure.

• 1:18:06Doug DeMuro?

Boy, is that true? Uh, question for Doug Cannon and Filippo from Little Bubba. What's your favorite car movie or car movies?

• 1:18:15Speaker 02

I, I don't know if it counts, but I feel like it does because a car is such a character movie. My favorite movie of all time is Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

• 1:18:21Doug DeMuro?

  Hmm.

• 1:18:21Speaker 02

And the car is like, obviously a pretty

• 1:18:23Doug DeMuro?

  Cow spider.

• 1:18:24Speaker 02

Yeah, reped cow spider, but Almoda, which we've sold a number of those on the site.

• 1:18:27Doug DeMuro?

  For big money.

• 1:18:28Speaker 02

For real money, which is another topic altogether.

• 1:18:31Doug DeMuro?

My favorite, I love Gone in 60 Seconds dearly.

• 1:18:33Speaker 02

  Strong.

• 1:18:34Doug DeMuro?

However, uh, Fast and Furious. You've only seen the first three. Yeah, but one, I'm only talking about number one.

• 1:18:39Speaker 02

  To be clear.

• 1:18:40Doug DeMuro?

I'm only talking about number one.

• 1:18:41Speaker 04

They become less about cars as they go.

• 1:18:42Doug DeMuro?

Fast and Furious one is the greatest car movie of all time, period. You know what's pretty good?

• 1:18:48Speaker 04

Hmm. The remake of The Talent Job?

• 1:18:50Doug DeMuro?

  With Mark Wahlberg?

• 1:18:51Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:18:52Doug DeMuro?

  It's a mini movie.

• 1:18:54Speaker 04

  Right.

• 1:18:54Doug DeMuro?

  I don't do minis.

• 1:18:55Speaker 04

  Alright.

• 1:18:57Speaker 04

I think I agree with that.

• 1:18:58Doug DeMuro?

I like, I like minis, but like, I need real cars in a movie. I need like Ronin.

• 1:19:03Speaker 04

  There's a Aston something then.

• 1:19:06Doug DeMuro?

  Okay. That's not enough.

• 1:19:08Speaker 04

  There are Land Rover Defenders.

• 1:19:09Speaker 02

Family Man's another good one, the 550.

• 1:19:11Doug DeMuro?

550, not a lot of 550 Maranello movies.

• 1:19:14Speaker 02

Not many. That was a nice one too.

• 1:19:16Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 1:19:16Speaker 02

  The color combo was good.

• 1:19:17Speaker 04

Yep. I can't think of anything that I notably

• 1:19:20Speaker 02

You know, you know what was great? The Charlie's Angels movies, like not great movies, but Ferrari sponsored them at the time because Ferrari want like for advertising and so they have like Enzo, uh, cow spider, like tons and tons of cra- like 360 Cameron Diaz's character driver 360. Um, and I, because I believe, I can't remember who it was, but like they, like the, the actress has got to drive the Enzo before any journalist.

• 1:19:43Doug DeMuro?

  Did.

• 1:19:43Speaker 02

Like at the time, because there's one scene, I can't remember if it was, I don't want to say Elizabeth Hurley, but that's not right. There's this girl's getting out, like she was opening the Demi Moore. It was Demi Moore, thank you. Demi Moore was getting like, uh, like came out of the ocean with like her surfboard and she goes to like get in the car and it's an Enzo. And like opens it, gets in, and she drove that, and so she drove it before.

• 1:20:01Speaker 04

  That's incredible.

• 1:20:02Speaker 02

But it's like, Demi Moore had

• 1:20:03Doug DeMuro?

Drove your Enzo to the ocean with your surfboard.

• 1:20:06Speaker 02

Yeah, more informed physician than any automotive journalist.

• 1:20:10Speaker 04

Uh, I, we should probably call out the Daniel Craig, James Bond movies for being deep Ford sponsorship. Uh, they, they highlighted a fusion, they highlighted a car. They're really, they went big on cars.

• 1:20:20Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, that's true. They went deep Ford. Although the ones where Ford owned Aston and Jaguar, there was that one, was it Die Another Day? Where there was the green XKR and...

• 1:20:29Speaker 04

The start of one of them has a chase that includes a Giulia quad.

• 1:20:35Speaker 02

It's so funny. When I think James Bond, I think of the DBS and Casino Royale. You think...

• 1:20:39Speaker 04

Reasonably. I think of the Ford Fusion in that same movie.

• 1:20:42Doug DeMuro?

I still think of the BMW.

• 1:20:43Speaker 04

  And the Ranger.

• 1:20:44Doug DeMuro?

I still think of the BMW.

• 1:20:44Speaker 02

  Oh, yeah, of course.

• 1:20:45Doug DeMuro?

When I think of James Bond, I think of Pierce Brosnan, who in my opinion was the best James Bond, although that opinion is shared by nobody.

• 1:20:50Speaker 02

  No, I agree with that.

• 1:20:52Doug DeMuro?

And the BMWs, which I think were the best cars.

• 1:20:53Speaker 04

I have a license plate designed by Pierce Brosnan. Keep that in mind.

• 1:20:55Speaker 02

The best, I think the best James Bond usually is the James Bond that was James Bond when you grew up. And in our case, it was Pierce Brosnan.

• 1:21:02Doug DeMuro?

Okay, we got two more questions. Next question is from Doug's Nissan Cube. Will Sean ever appear on the pod? Would be interested to hear about his 360 and G63 ownership. First off, Sean doesn't have a G63. He's got a bad color G-Wagon. It's a regular.

• 1:21:16Speaker 04

  G530.

• 1:21:17Doug DeMuro?

And he's not cut out to own it.

• 1:21:22Doug DeMuro?

He keeps having all these problems that like you can chalk up to just, he's not ready. Like, he needs a Grenadier, honestly, is what he needs.

• 1:21:28Speaker 04

  No.

• 1:21:29Doug DeMuro?

He needs like a newer car with a warranty.

• 1:21:31Speaker 04

Think about how much he'll complain.

• 1:21:32Doug DeMuro?

His 360 ownership's been great. He won't appear on the pod. Sean is an old friend of mine. He's been in production for a long time. He produced, worked on a lot of shows you've seen if you're in the car world. However, he doesn't like to be in front of the camera.

• 1:21:46Speaker 04

Which is a shame, because it'd be nice to have him right there.

• 1:21:49Doug DeMuro?

He says he'll come on the pod eventually. If you want him to come on the pod, write to him at sean@carsandbids, [email protected]. [email protected].

• 1:21:58Speaker 04

And if he doesn't reply to you, just email him again.

• 1:22:01Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, just keep sending him notes. Sign him up for stuff.

• 1:22:04Speaker 02

I was gonna say that, but that's what I was thinking.

• 1:22:07Doug DeMuro?

Okay, next question. I'm gonna do actually two more. Mouse Cop, very important question for Doug. Why do you no longer get the backseats of cars that you review? This is a question I get a lot. I have back trouble, serious, real back trouble.

• 1:22:20Doug DeMuro?

Um, that, um, I try to avoid doing crazy stuff with my back. I have little kids now and I want to play on the floor with them and I don't want to have back trouble. I had, uh, some real incidents with my back that really caused some problems and I have it for a while now and I'm just trying to avoid anything like that. So I don't do it anymore, uh, which I'm sorry.

• 1:22:40Speaker 04

I saw you in the backseat of a Honda Prelude.

• 1:22:41Doug DeMuro?

I did get in the backseat of the Prelude. I did. Yeah. I don't do a lot. My job is more physical than it looks.

• 1:22:49Doug DeMuro?

It's not anymore because I shoot everything in here, but like for a long time I was like in, I was like five hours in the sun every day.

• 1:22:56Speaker 02

You're also kneeling down a lot. Why you didn't just sit on the box like I do for all those years I'd never?

• 1:23:00Doug DeMuro?

I never bring a box. Like the difference between me and you is you have a box.

• 1:23:03Speaker 02

  Yeah.

• 1:23:04Doug DeMuro?

I have a backpack. Like I, I try to be as, as, as slim and as easy as possible because when you start adding stuff, it means you gotta add stuff. And, and.

• 1:23:14Speaker 02

One thing, keep it in and then something to.

• 1:23:16Doug DeMuro?

That box doesn't fit in most cars.

• 1:23:17Speaker 02

Yes, it does. It's not, look at it. It's not very large. It's, it's, there's literally a backpack next to it and it's barely taller than that.

• 1:23:23Doug DeMuro?

Massive. It doesn't fit my Ford GT. Anyway, the point is.

• 1:23:26Speaker 02

Nothing. It doesn't have a trunk.

• 1:23:28Doug DeMuro?

Well, there you go. The point is, uh, I don't kill myself for this job anymore. I only sit, yeah, like I did for so many years toiling, laying brick out in the hot sun. I was digging holes and.

• 1:23:40Speaker 04

  Something appropriate somehow.

• 1:23:42Doug DeMuro?

I was, I was digging holes and framing houses for so many years. I can't go anymore. Now I sit here on this podcast in an air conditioned space with Filippo. Yep. It's a shame. We are underground. That's our, that's our big issue. Who do you think dug the foundation? It was me by hand with a steam shovel.

• 1:24:02Speaker 02

I would, yep, that definition of by hand there.

• 1:24:07Doug DeMuro?

Well, but the steam shovel also requires a lot of work. It's not like you just, it's not like modern technology that he uses. You gotta.

• 1:24:14Speaker 02

Well, don't forget it's powered by steam. You gotta have someone to feed the fire with coal or wood.

• 1:24:18Doug DeMuro?

Burned my skin. I came in at night with burns.

• 1:24:21Speaker 04

You know, who would do that really well? You would be really good at running a steam locomotive.

• 1:24:26Speaker 02

You know, yes, I'd also be a good lighthouse keeper. I've been told. Like a lot of Victorian era things, I would be pretty good at.

• 1:24:31Doug DeMuro?

Okay, last, last, I'm gonna do two more, but I'm doing very so quickly that it's gonna feel like one. Douglas and Filippo, would the new Prelude actually be compelling at the pre tariff price point?

• 1:24:39Speaker 04

Tariff is not what impacted that price.

• 1:24:40Doug DeMuro?

  No.

• 1:24:42Speaker 04

Except now they may because there are, there's talk of additional tariffs on Japanese vehicles. The president has announced additional tariffs, will that happen?

• 1:24:50Doug DeMuro?

The prelude, it would have been, everybody's talking about price point, it would have been so much easier to just give it more power. Like, the whole problem could have been solved with 65 more horsepower. And, and so everybody's like, oh, make it cheaper. I don't think it's compelling at 38. Like, I think it's

• 1:25:05Speaker 04

It isn't compelling at, how much is a Civic hybrid?

• 1:25:08Doug DeMuro?

Yeah, that's the problem. Like Civic hybrids are 34. BRZ is, I mean, I would rather have a BRZ and that's like 33 or something.

• 1:25:16Speaker 04

The prelude would be more comfortable if you want that.

• 1:25:17Doug DeMuro?

You get my point. Yeah, but I don't want that. No one in a coupe segment wants that anymore.

• 1:25:21Speaker 04

  I don't disagree.

• 1:25:22Doug DeMuro?

  The Cadillac ELR told us

• 1:25:25Speaker 04

You can buy a Accord hybrid for 34.

• 1:25:26Doug DeMuro?

  Yeah.

• 1:25:27Speaker 04

It's a good vehicle. Same MPG as the prelude.

• 1:25:30Doug DeMuro?

So the answer is no. I truly think that the way to remedy the prelude is not to make it cheaper, which is what everybody's saying, it's to give it more power. It's to give it the power that it actually should have. You know, it's funny, Honda's like, oh, we're bringing back this nameplate that everybody loved from back in the day. Well, the people who loved it were people who were 17 in 2000. Those people have enough money now to go out and buy it, but they also have expectations of performance that have changed from when they were 17 in 2000, and 200 horsepower felt fast. And Honda hasn't delivered that, and so they hit the nostalgia crowd with something they don't want. I don't want to actually go back to high school. I want to go back to what my high school self wanted.

• 1:26:03Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 1:26:04Doug DeMuro?

And it is not a 200 horsepower prelude.

• 1:26:07Speaker 04

  Hard to argue with that.

• 1:26:10Doug DeMuro?

Okay, last question from my Cash Viper. Doug, you mentioned during your reviews that a certain car drives better or worse than a similar car in the second segment. As a journalist, it makes sense to say these comments, but how do you remember when you have driven so many cars in your lifetime? This is my job! Of course I remember.

• 1:26:25Speaker 04

Doug has an, for those that don't know Doug personally, he has an exceptionally good memory.

• 1:26:30Doug DeMuro?

But also, this is what I do every, in your job, you probably remember how to, what do people do in their jobs? I don't know.

• 1:26:36Speaker 04

Index match in Excel. B lookup in Excel.

• 1:26:38Doug DeMuro?

Filippo can do a pivot table, Filippo can do a pivot table like that. You ask him to do a pivot table, doesn't, asleep, doesn't even use the mouse. He just uses the keyboard shortcuts, okay? That's, that's the equivalent. Okay, I went to the heart doctor, I got some heart thing, I went to the heart doctor, and I wore like a heart patch, you know, for like three weeks or something? And I went in there and I said, yeah, here's the data, and he said, oh, this is nothing. I said, and I'm looking at it, right? And it's like this.

• 1:27:04Speaker 04

  Right.

• 1:27:06Speaker 04

  Right.

• 1:27:06Doug DeMuro?

And I'm like, oh, how do you know? He goes, I've been doing this a lot.

• 1:27:11Speaker 04

Funny thing is, you're right. Like, it is your job to remember how those cars drive, to pay really close attention to that.

• 1:27:16Doug DeMuro?

This is what I do. It's the only thing that I do.

• 1:27:20Speaker 04

  I'm gonna keep that clip.

• 1:27:21Doug DeMuro?

Uh, alright. Do we have anything else? Filippo, do you have any final thoughts for the audience?

• 1:27:26Speaker 04

No, but keep checking out our events. If you've missed one in, uh, Phoenix, we're gonna have an event here at our office with Avance. If you're an Avance San Diego member, you should go check that out, sign up.

• 1:27:36Doug DeMuro?

If I'm an Avance San Diego member, am I a member on all the Avances?

• 1:27:39Speaker 04

I believe so. I don't know. That's a question for the Avance folks.

• 1:27:43Speaker 02

The answer is yes to that, yeah.

• 1:27:44Doug DeMuro?

You, you got any parting? He's just gonna promo us and I can't take it anymore. You got any parting thoughts?

• 1:27:49Speaker 02

Yes, with the Avance, you can talk to our friend Kevin, who got you signed up. Uh, yes, just check out my, I've got a lot of cool YouTube content coming, so go check.

• 1:27:55Speaker 04

  You're jealous.

• 1:27:56Speaker 02

Thank you, I've been trying to.

• 1:27:57Speaker 04

  Why wasn't I invited?

• 1:27:58Speaker 02

What? We'll do something together. But go check out my YouTube channel, it's Ken and Rollson.

• 1:28:03Speaker 04

I want to be clear, not to be in it, but to just see a dyno run.

• 1:28:07Speaker 02

I'll invite you for the M5.

• 1:28:08Doug DeMuro?

These guys are promoing stuff. I'm not gonna promo anything. I'm only gonna say one parting thought, which is, send us an email, [email protected]. Just to check in. [email protected]. Goodbye, everyone!

• 1:28:22Speaker 02

  Goodbye.

• 1:28:22Speaker 04

  Goodbye, January.
