Hey, can you come pick me up? Yeah, what's wrong? Nothing. Are you sure? Yeah, no, I just need a ride. Ride, no. Oh, my God. So, why, I just wanna have fun. Start your engines. Take care.

• 0:30Benito Skinner?

  I'm Benito Skinner.

• 0:31Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm Mary Beth Brown.

• 0:33Benito Skinner?

  And this.

• 0:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Is.

• 0:34Benito Skinner?

  Ride.

• 0:38Benito Skinner?

I think you know this is, I think you want, ah. Pop is back and it's sex.

• 0:47Mary Beth Barone?

  That's what I've been hearing.

• 0:48Benito Skinner?

How horny is pop music? I'm like so happy Tate McRae, like that song, "Sports Car." You, ah, I sent you a crazy video of me dancing to that, sister.

• 0:59Mary Beth Barone?

You did, actually Terry did, and he said, "If I have to see this, so do you."

• 1:04Benito Skinner?

It's like you can turn any top into kind of like somewhat of a, what would that be called? Like a unitard?

• 1:11Mary Beth Barone?

Well, so you're talking about tucking the top underneath to act also as a bottom?

• 1:15Benito Skinner?

  Yes.

• 1:17Mary Beth Barone?

So that's actually what they used to do in like medieval times. They didn't have underwear, so their, their, their tunics, their frocks were so long that they would actually fold them under on both sides to create like a diaper, almost.

• 1:28Benito Skinner?

Always referencing history and the classics and the history of fashion.

• 1:33Mary Beth Barone?

The history of H O F. Forget B O F, forget the business of fashion. I wanna talk about the history of fashion.

• 1:39Benito Skinner?

Oh, yes. I think you know this is. So I can do this Tate McRae dance and I do it for Terry all the time. He's working with new pop stars on new albums right now, so he doesn't hear a thing I say. So when he's working on his phone, it's like hierography. Do you remember when Glee taught us what that meant?

• 1:56Mary Beth Barone?

  Can I say something?

• 1:57Benito Skinner?

Yeah, sweetheart. You never watched Glee, right?

• 1:59Mary Beth Barone?

I've never seen it. Not only didn't I not watch it, I didn't, I've never seen one minute of it.

• 2:04Benito Skinner?

Well, I think when our partners pass on and we're like 70, we'll watch Glee and Lost together. I've thought about this.

• 2:11Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my God, that's fun, because I never saw Lost either.

• 2:13Benito Skinner?

Isn't that gonna be fun? Remember when we watched Gossip Girl together and it was just for us? And our men would tap in every now and then, but...

• 2:20Mary Beth Barone?

It wasn't for anyone but us. Talk about post 9/11 media, which I did want to say. So War of the Worlds, I failed to mention, and The Day After Tomorrow. Could anything be more post 9/11 media than The Day After Tomorrow? Those are up there, so I cannot believe they were forgotten.

• 2:36Benito Skinner?

I'm trying to think, like, it's kind of just crazy to me. Yeah, everything.

• 2:42Mary Beth Barone?

So, yes, and I don't really want to get into the specifics of what's going on politically right now, because it's too depressing and there's that information available anywhere that's not Ride the Pod.

• 2:52Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 2:52Mary Beth Barone?

The only thing I want to say is, I forgot how much crying there was in the first Trump presidency.

• 2:58Benito Skinner?

  It's back.

• 2:58Mary Beth Barone?

  It's coming back stronger.

• 3:00Benito Skinner?

The waterworks are back. It happened, actually, the other night. I was just in bed with Terry, and I just turned and he was sobbing, and he was watching people who were getting deported on TikTok. And we talked about it too, and he's like, I think I don't want to post anything about the clown parade. Like, I don't want to see these clowns. Also, my God, they're ugly. Like, I can't stress enough.

• 3:20Mary Beth Barone?

No, don't start. Don't start, because that could be a whole episode.

• 3:23Benito Skinner?

I'll stop. I'll stop right now. But it is like, it's clown posse. I don't want to see it, and I don't need to see it. What I want, though, is I want all of us to, at least for me, I'm like challenging myself to really look for human empathy and see people who are affected, and post that, and post like the actual consequences of this administration, as opposed to these absolute imbeciles. Like, I don't want to see their faces. They make me literally sick. But I want to see the people who are hurt, because I hope that in any way, people can have some form of human empathy and see that this presidency is going to affect all of us. And if it doesn't affect you, you're so fucking lucky, and you probably voted for him, and you're a billionaire.

• 4:08Benito Skinner?

So that's probably it. That's probably the only people who aren't.

• 4:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Congrats to those five people.

• 4:11Benito Skinner?

Yeah, yes. Enjoy the next four years. We hate you.

• 4:16Mary Beth Barone?

We hate you. It's important to amplify. And I agree. I think like, it's not just like a faceless group of whoever that's being affected by this. It's like, it's your neighbor. It's people from your town. It's people you went to school with.

• 4:29Benito Skinner?

I'm trying not to, I'm trying not to have anger for people who voted for him and didn't know that. Like, you know what I mean? I'm not trying to blame them. It's like, some people just like, do not have access to the education. And they've been literally tricked and duped by like, a sick group of people.

• 4:46Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you know what I keep thinking of? Remember in Sex and the City movie when Miranda and Carrie are at the Valentine's Day dinner?

• 4:53Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 4:53Mary Beth Barone?

And Miranda's like, I need to tell you something. And then she goes, I tried to tell you once. And she goes, once? You should have tried to tell me every day. That's like, liberals not communicating what was gonna happen to people. Like, Republican voters are like, why didn't you tell me? And it's like, well, we tried to tell you once. It's like, no. Like, Republicans should be asking, why didn't you tell me every day?

• 5:20Benito Skinner?

I'm seeing them, and they're trying to get through the balloons.

• 5:22Mary Beth Barone?

  And the balloons.

• 5:23Benito Skinner?

The balloons, and they're in a brunette wig. Fuck!

• 5:27Benito Skinner?

God, that was so crazy. I wasn't that bad at Miranda. If that's all it took for Big to like, question it, that's not love, to me.

• 5:35Mary Beth Barone?

Well, and it wasn't totally your fault. I'm filming you.

• 5:38Benito Skinner?

  She's in my head.

• 5:39Mary Beth Barone?

It wasn't totally Carrie's fault. Or it wasn't totally Miranda's fault. It was a combination of things, which honestly, kind of is, I think, a bit of a metaphor for the country as well. It wasn't just like Kamala, I guess, not being a good enough candidate. Like, it's sort of a powder keg of a bunch of conditions that made Big not want to marry Carrie. And that's also what made Trump get elected. So, there's a lot we can learn from these movies, you guys.

• 6:03Benito Skinner?

  Dear media, clip that.

• 6:05Mary Beth Barone?

  Clip that.

• 6:06Benito Skinner?

  That's enough on that.

• 6:07Mary Beth Barone?

I'm having so much trouble like forming sentences lately and I don't know if that's like a result of our attention spans or just not like being, I don't know.

• 6:17Benito Skinner?

  I never have the words.

• 6:19Mary Beth Barone?

How about even right now, for example?

• 6:21Benito Skinner?

It's so funny. You know what's funny? You said that thing about the day after tomorrow. My brain literally went, I've got nothing to say back to that. I just thought, I almost gave you a thumbs up and I'm like, oh, wait, this isn't just a visual pod. It's auditory.

• 6:33Mary Beth Barone?

I'm doing less like add-ons to people's bits and more just affirmations. Like that was really good and I think we should just sort of leave it there. I feel like he got it.

• 6:42Benito Skinner?

Period. You know, when Timothy Chalamet said period to Martin Scorsese, when they were filming Chanel Bleu, fragrance, fragrance.

• 6:50Mary Beth Barone?

I actually, I didn't know that. I'm gonna admit this. I didn't know about that.

• 6:53Benito Skinner?

Oh, it's a BTS, it's BTS footage and Martin's giving him, you know, direction and he just goes period. And I'm like, I love that. I have something to say and it's if you have one husky, that's your dog. If you have a couple huskies, they're planning to kill you. I just know that to be true. This woman in my neighborhood is always walking like three huskies. One of them only has one eye and I'm like, well, that's the leader. And I know for a fact, these huskies are plotting something against you. Like the way they're looking at me, I'm sorry, I just, I have to say it. They're, they're coming for you.

• 7:27Mary Beth Barone?

Okay. Thank you for bringing this up as always.

• 7:29Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 7:30Mary Beth Barone?

Because this is something you told me years ago. I have repeated it to people and I'm always giving you credit. I'm like, if someone has multiple huskies, they are plotting to kill their owner. And it just came up at dinner the other night that my orthodontist, who my niece and nephew now go to, has nine huskies.

• 7:48Benito Skinner?

Oh, oh, it's about to be a bloodbath, sis. It's the red wedding. Good luck. They're barking and talking the second you go to sleep. They put their one eye open and they all meet up and they talk about which limb they're gonna eat. They're coming for you.

• 8:05Mary Beth Barone?

Who gets what? They're talking about who gets what?

• 8:08Benito Skinner?

Yes. Have I told you? I think Mufasa is incredible, the movie.

• 8:12Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, no. What is that?

• 8:15Benito Skinner?

No. Barry Jenkins directed Mufasa, The Lion King.

• 8:19Mary Beth Barone?

  But it's the live action.

• 8:20Benito Skinner?

  It's the live action prequel.

• 8:22Mary Beth Barone?

Well, because you sort of put ins, you put in our ins list as what I thought was a joke. You were, you said that people should say the live action Disney is better than the animation. But I thought that was a joke.

• 8:32Benito Skinner?

Okay, so it was a joke, but here's my thing, like, sometimes, like, if I'm on a plane, I am just like, Cruella. I told you about how I, I, I realized, me and Wally on our flight back from overcompensating to LA, which was so weird to see someone from the cast on the flight back home. I don't know. It just felt like wrong.

• 8:53Mary Beth Barone?

It was like dogs on, walking on their hind legs. It's like running into Miss Norbury at the mall.

• 8:57Benito Skinner?

I mean, it's like having two Huskies. It just felt wrong. And, and I didn't realize like where she was sitting, but she was like right behind me and I watched Cruella. And I thought to myself, oh my God, she just watched me watch Cruella.

• 9:10Mary Beth Barone?

  Watch Cruella.

• 9:10Benito Skinner?

So there's that on that. And you don't, just affirm it. We don't have to talk about it more.

• 9:14Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, no, I think that that makes sense. And I'm not going to argue it because I haven't seen Nufasa.

• 9:19Benito Skinner?

Oh, I want you to see it. I just think that it's like a really well crafted story. Even Terry, Terry was like, I was kind of gagged by that. And so we sat with my parents in Boise.

• 9:30Mary Beth Barone?

Terry watching movies. We love to see it. It's something we love to see.

• 9:35Benito Skinner?

Why are you so funny to me today?

• 9:38Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't know.

• 9:39Benito Skinner?

It's because you're on the screen and there's nothing behind you. It's, this pod starts to feel like you're in prison.

• 9:45Mary Beth Barone?

Well, I am be, I am detained by the government. What are you talking about? They're letting me do, they're letting me do the podcast.

• 9:50Benito Skinner?

  House arrest.

• 9:51Mary Beth Barone?

I'm, I'm in a detainment center right now in the middle of Washington. We're underground. I have no idea where we are.

• 9:59Benito Skinner?

  You're in the Hurt Locker.

• 10:00Mary Beth Barone?

They took me for my joke about storming the Capitol.

• 10:04Benito Skinner?

Oh, yes, they did take you. I loved that, that you would do it in a corset.

• 10:09Mary Beth Barone?

Hell, yeah. I'm doing it in the spring. It's not going to be in January. Who wants to do an insurrection in January?

• 10:14Benito Skinner?

  It's gonna be warm.

• 10:15Mary Beth Barone?

  I want to look cute.

• 10:16Benito Skinner?

  Fools.

• 10:17Mary Beth Barone?

Something I've noticed, NHL hockey players always have a blonde wife and four kids. It's like someone has tasked them with like fixing population decline. And these guys are just like, I don't know, they're so kind of spooky. Their like family structure is spooky to me. It's sort of giving like. It's giving like 1950s.

• 10:38Benito Skinner?

Here's my thing, like our eyes are so open in our third eyes. Like my statement about Huskies, your statement about hockey players and their wives. Like our eyes are open. Just look around, you guys, there's so much to see.

• 10:50Mary Beth Barone?

You're not getting, nothing is getting by us.

• 10:52Benito Skinner?

No, you guys think you're slick, don't you? You're not.

• 10:56Mary Beth Barone?

You're not slick. I see what you're doing.

• 10:57Benito Skinner?

That's really true. I mean, sometimes, and football players have the tiniest wives you've ever seen. Also, something I want to talk about, but you know me. I mean, I'm an MBA player right now because I have an influencer wife.

• 11:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 11:09Benito Skinner?

So I feel that and I also want four kids. Also, hockey players have no teeth, but they, for me, no matter what, they all look like her boyfriend in 13 Going on 30. You know, in the towel when he's like naked at the beginning and she's like dating a hockey player? I don't know. He was hot to me. I'll say it.

• 11:25Mary Beth Barone?

I think, can I say, I think they're attractive. I like the sort of swag that they have. I think it's cool that these women are at home.

• 11:33Benito Skinner?

You could have been a hockey wife.

• 11:35Mary Beth Barone?

  I think so too.

• 11:36Benito Skinner?

An ice queen, that's what they call them. The ice queen is here today.

• 11:40Mary Beth Barone?

  If I had stayed Republican.

• 11:41Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 11:41Mary Beth Barone?

Maybe these women have like businesses and they have jobs and they have professions too.

• 11:46Benito Skinner?

To me, it's clean baby food. You know what I mean? Like that's what their companies are. It's like, we're not putting that stuff in our kids' mouth, are we? You know, that kind of stuff. I also think that Iriya Baldwin, and this does kind of get into my ride today in a way. Cause I'm sure we have the same favorite artist. I think the fact that she's still doing the bit makes it okay.

• 12:08Mary Beth Barone?

You think sort of a lifelong commitment means that you should be able to.

• 12:13Benito Skinner?

Let me rephrase. I don't think it's okay.

• 12:15Mary Beth Barone?

No, I'm not disagreeing with you. I'm just, I'm synthesizing what you're saying. I think what you're saying is that you respect the fact that she's committed to it.

• 12:23Benito Skinner?

  I think, I think it's hard as.

• 12:27Benito Skinner?

A gay man to not see someone do a bit, get absolutely roasted over the coals and called out for it, and yet continue to do it. It's so asinine.

• 12:39Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you calling it a bit in and of itself is revolutionary because it's

• 12:43Benito Skinner?

  It's a lifestyle.

• 12:44Mary Beth Barone?

It's not like she's doing a joke that people are like, ooh, that's edgy. It's like she's pretending to be from a different country.

• 12:51Benito Skinner?

  Life as a bit.

• 12:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Bones and all.

• 12:54Benito Skinner?

Bones and all, sister. It's shocking. Of course, I don't think of co-opting a culture. Absolutely not. Like, don't do that. But I think the fact that she's still doing it on camera, I don't know. There's like something about it. I can't look away.

• 13:08Mary Beth Barone?

Because we know it's fake. And so, yeah, I guess to continue doing it, it's like you have such a belief in yourself.

• 13:15Benito Skinner?

It's like if that woman would have stayed in the parking space, I would have let her have it.

• 13:19Mary Beth Barone?

No, I think it makes sense.

• 13:20Benito Skinner?

Iridia brings me to, I got a lot of, well, I got a lot. I got two DMs during that whole scandal of people being like, "Wonder when your time will come, Benito." I was like, no, my, my grandma is literally Basque. I didn't, I didn't.

• 13:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Literally Basque.

• 13:37Benito Skinner?

  I am Spanish.

• 13:38Mary Beth Barone?

  She's Basque.

• 13:38Benito Skinner?

Yeah, she, she is a Basque woman. Her parents are from the Basque country.

• 13:43Mary Beth Barone?

So is the thinking there that you chose the name Benito, but your real name is Benjamin?

• 13:48Benito Skinner?

I think so. Well, I think they assume my name is Bentley.

• 13:51Mary Beth Barone?

  Bentley.

• 13:51Benito Skinner?

I can only assume when they think I'm a Bentley.

• 13:56Benito Skinner?

Fuck, you're so funny to me today. I could watch you.

• 13:58Mary Beth Barone?

  You are.

• 13:59Benito Skinner?

I could watch you watch me all day, sister.

• 14:02Mary Beth Barone?

Well, I'm really stripped down right now, which they can't see. And you won't talk too much about what they can't see. But I am, I'm in my holding cell. You're at Dear Media, like, nothing's wrong.

• 14:10Benito Skinner?

I know. Jackson just admitted to me that he likes having beers at 11 a.m. Because he's Australian.

• 14:16Speaker 04

  It's very Australian of us.

• 14:17Benito Skinner?

That's all we do. Every time you speak, Jackson, I get a tingle. I love you, sis. So my last thing that I want to talk about before we get into Iridia, which gets into my ride. So I asked Terry if the Barone were ready for my toast.

• 14:32Benito Skinner?

Because it is quite crass and quite dark. He said, maybe not. And I just want to record it just in case.

• 14:39Mary Beth Barone?

As a side note, I want people to know that I am seeing someone. But much like a divorced mother would not introduce just anyone to her kids. And this is a very special person. I don't think he's just anyone. But I'm not gonna like, bring him up yet until, just like, I need to give the kids time. Like, you wouldn't just introduce like, a new person to your kids right away.

• 15:02Benito Skinner?

No, exactly. It's like, kind of like Crazy Stupid Love.

• 15:06Mary Beth Barone?

It's like Crazy Stupid Love. What was his name? What was Kevin Bacon's name in that?

• 15:10Benito Skinner?

Hmm, I think he's just Kevin Bacon.

• 15:12Mary Beth Barone?

Yes, so this toast was brought up last night. And what we did agree on was, we have two bits we couldn't do on Ride at this point. But for the series finale, we're gonna tell you all of our bits that we had to cut, that we couldn't.

• 15:24Benito Skinner?

This might be in 10 years, by the way. We want to keep doing this.

• 15:27Mary Beth Barone?

Sure, yeah, yeah, yeah. But it's just like, just know that we're keeping track of the stuff that we don't feel is ready for primetime.

• 15:34Benito Skinner?

  So, to give you context.

• 15:36Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know if people are gonna be so confused by this.

• 15:40Benito Skinner?

They were okay with Scheistemagwagen. Like, I still get tagged in Scheistemagwagen. And the spelling always just like, it sends me to the moon. So, one time I was giving a toast at a dinner with friends, and I was inspired by, you know, sometimes, and maybe this isn't a thing, and I've just noticed this. But sometimes when people give toasts, there's like, this really like, vengeful background that they have. Or when they're like, to anyone who doubted me, who I was, what my morals were, may they rot, you know, like, may they rot in hell. So one time I did one where I did cheers to Terry at a dinner, and I believe it was with you, and said, man, manzus.

• 16:19Benito Skinner?

And I said, to anyone who has ever doubted us, fought against us, spoken ill on us or our families, may they experience the loss of a child. Cheers. And everyone at the table was like, what? But I'm telling you, in that moment, I was delivering Richards. Like, this is her toast. You know what I mean?

• 16:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally, yeah.

• 16:44Benito Skinner?

To anyone who said, I could never sell this thing, be more than who I was. Fight to get to the top. May they experience the loss of a child. And with a little wink and a cheers.

• 16:56Mary Beth Barone?

To anyone who stole a listing from me.

• 16:59Benito Skinner?

  Yes.

• 17:01Mary Beth Barone?

No, I totally see her as saying that.

• 17:03Benito Skinner?

Who spoke ill on my family, my friends, on me, talked about my body, my face.

• 17:09Mary Beth Barone?

And it's like, who? Who's that? Who?

• 17:10Benito Skinner?

Who are the haters? Yeah, it's just something.

• 17:13Mary Beth Barone?

Who are these ops? I'm curious to see what the response will be to the toast.

• 17:17Benito Skinner?

May they experience the loss of a child era.

• 17:20Mary Beth Barone?

I think it's important to remember that we are comedians.

• 17:23Benito Skinner?

People forget that sometimes in our clips.

• 17:25Mary Beth Barone?

They really do, or they don't know us and they just, it comes on their For You page and they're like, first of all, are they siblings? Second of all, why are these people allowed to have microphones? We're just here to have fun.

• 17:38Benito Skinner?

Jackson just laughed at that. Hey, third of all, can I piss on her? My coffee beans here. How's the latte? Is it good?

• 17:46Mary Beth Barone?

We're not, we're not cutting this. We're keeping this in.

• 17:49Benito Skinner?

Yeah, wait, okay. Sorry, I'm like getting everyone at Dear Media addicted to coffee beans.

• 17:54Benito Skinner?

Oh, lovely. I'm having a little, it's a little brekkie.

• 17:59Mary Beth Barone?

  A little brekkie.

• 18:00Benito Skinner?

How do you say it, brekkie? Isn't that what you guys say?

• 18:01Speaker 04

Yeah, Down Under, we say brekkie, or actually, smoko. This would be smoko time.

• 18:05Benito Skinner?

  Smoko time.

• 18:06Speaker 04

It's where we knock off, the boys have a few cigs.

• 18:09Mary Beth Barone?

And they listen to Audio Jungle.

• 18:11Benito Skinner?

We have to go Down Under.

• 18:13Speaker 04

They love you Down Under. You can have like a pie and a chocolate milk for smoko.

• 18:17Mary Beth Barone?

  That feels like, hmm.

• 18:19Benito Skinner?

Surfing all day, doing some shit like that. I have to go down and I want to be blonde when I'm in Australia. Okay.

• 18:25Mary Beth Barone?

There's a couple of things I am touring. So Atlanta, Austin, Nashville, Burlington, and Portland. We'll see you there.

• 18:31Benito Skinner?

I'm gonna show up at one. I don't know which one, but I decided I'm showing up at one. And I'm not gonna tell you. I'm just gonna show up.

• 18:36Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, perfect. I can't wait to find out. I saw on the Reddit, someone asked about the Houston date, which we're pushing. I think it's gonna be in the fall, probably. But someone was like, oh, why did it move? Like, things change with the schedule of a performer. Like, that just happens. But someone commented, probably low ticket sales, heartbreak emoji.

• 18:52Benito Skinner?

That's your first, wait, that's what you're going to first? Have some faith, ye of little faith.

• 18:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Little faith.

• 18:59Benito Skinner?

  That is so hateful.

• 19:00Mary Beth Barone?

It was really strange, but I guess like it felt, I felt alive in that moment.

• 19:04Benito Skinner?

Yeah, go to the meanest option. That's kind of the vibe.

• 19:06Mary Beth Barone?

Sometimes things like when you're a multi hyphenate and I can't remember if I left this in last season or if I cut it, but like schedules do change, they shift.

• 19:14Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 19:14Mary Beth Barone?

I think just have some grace as, as we have for all of you. We know you can't always listen on Wednesdays. So the other thing I want to plug is Lisa Trager's special on Netflix.com.

• 19:24Benito Skinner?

I'm so excited. What a legend.

• 19:25Mary Beth Barone?

I can't wait to watch it. Available nationwide and maybe worldwide. I would, I would guess worldwide.

• 19:30Benito Skinner?

I can't stress enough, stream good specials, please.

• 19:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Please, please, please, please.

• 19:35Benito Skinner?

  Please, stream good specials.

• 19:36Mary Beth Barone?

And good shows, things that you like, just do it.

• 19:37Benito Skinner?

Yes, it's gonna be, some good stuff's coming, let me just say, and you have to, we'll tell you when, when the goodies come out, my darling kids. Yeah. Okay, let's get into what we write for.

• 19:48Mary Beth Barone?

One more thing to plug, sorry, one more thing to plug.

• 19:50Benito Skinner?

  You're so pretty.

• 19:51Mary Beth Barone?

Thank you. So as many of you may know, as many of you may know, my oldest brother, he used to be a professional athlete, a swimmer.

• 19:59Benito Skinner?

Hey, hey, we can tell. If they didn't know, they could tell.

• 20:02Mary Beth Barone?

And you can probably tell. He is currently coaching this wonderful, amazing woman named Ally Truitt, who against all odds, her foot did get bitten off by a shark in Turks and Caicos. And she swam at the Paralympics. She's like a total legend. And she started a foundation to help amputees get prosthetics. It's called Stronger Than You Think. So if you want to get more information on that or get involved or donate, you can go to their Instagram. And my brother made a video because he's on the board. So isn't it cool to be on the board? Like, I want to be on the board of something.

• 20:32Benito Skinner?

Of trustees. I think that's so beautiful. And I do think like that is, that's what we have to do, darlings. We have to take care of each other and find human empathy and love. And we're going to be stronger together. And we're gonna, we're gonna get through this. I know we are. But it's gonna be.

• 20:48Mary Beth Barone?

I would love to know how, but.

• 20:49Benito Skinner?

It's gonna be fighter. I never said it wasn't gonna be fighter. Hut, hut.

• 20:53Mary Beth Barone?

I just wish every day we didn't have to be fighter.

• 20:56Benito Skinner?

I agree. Sometimes I want to be lover.

• 20:59Mary Beth Barone?

I want to be lover. Hello lover.

• 21:01Benito Skinner?

  Lesbian lover.

• 21:04Mary Beth Barone?

Have you seen Serendipity? That's so crazy. I'm looking at Molly Shannon's book right now. She says in the book she had to deliver a line. This is a fabulous line read. She's with Kate Beckinsale and like they run into people and they think that her and Kate Beckinsale are a couple. So then when they're saying goodbye, she goes, goodbye, my lesbian lover. And everyone on set was like, you, we're not really like getting it. And she was like, no, I'm doing it like that. And then it's like such an iconic line.

• 21:29Benito Skinner?

Wait, that's so sick to just be like, nope, that's it. That's the performance. No, you got it. Oh, we got it. Watch, watch the dailies. We got it.

• 21:37Mary Beth Barone?

  We got it.

• 21:37Benito Skinner?

I was doing Carrie Bradshaw where she sees the shoes in the window. That's what I was doing.

• 21:41Mary Beth Barone?

  Hello lover.

• 21:43Benito Skinner?

  She is so, God.

• 21:48Benito Skinner?

Carrie's a little cornball sometimes. She's me. She can be me. All right. So who are you writing for? I wondered.

• 21:54Mary Beth Barone?

Trailblazers. This is a Trailblazers episode.

• 21:57Benito Skinner?

This is our classic Trailblazers episode.

• 21:59Mary Beth Barone?

So this week I am going to be writing for Galileo.

• 22:03Benito Skinner?

And just like Idraria Baldwin, I will be writing for Picasso. Pablo Picasso.

• 22:09Mary Beth Barone?

  Picasso. Let's get into it.

• 22:13Benito Skinner?

Nutriful. My hair is so Nutriful.

• 22:17Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh.

• 22:17Benito Skinner?

  Go Mary Beth.

• 22:18Mary Beth Barone?

I was watching Sebastian Stan's GQ 10 Things I Can't Live Without and guess whose name was in his mouth?

• 22:24Benito Skinner?

The name on everyone's lips this spring, summer, 25.

• 22:28Mary Beth Barone?

  It was Nutriful.

• 22:30Benito Skinner?

Nutriful is the number one dermatologist recommended hair growth supplement brand.

• 22:36Mary Beth Barone?

No, not one million people. One million and one. Cause add Sebastian Stan to that list.

• 23:56Benito Skinner?

Okay, so you know what I was doing in Paris?

• 23:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Tell me.

• 23:59Benito Skinner?

Bonsoir. I say bonsoir anytime during the day, and I think Parisians are okay with it.

• 24:04Mary Beth Barone?

And you commit to the bit, which they respect. The French have nothing but respect for that.

• 24:08Benito Skinner?

I was trying to shop online and it kept going to French websites. And I was like, I don't speak French, unfortunately. I wish I did.

• 24:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Me too.

• 24:14Benito Skinner?

But I use ExpressVPN and I was like, just kidding, I'm in Miami.

• 24:19Mary Beth Barone?

Well, it's just crazy because when you go out to eat, you want to have global options, Italian, Thai,

• 24:23Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, I agree.

• 24:23Mary Beth Barone?

Greek, Japanese, Mexican. But imagine if you could only get food from one country. God, that would suck. So imagine only getting to eat burgers and shakes, or insert your local cuisine, you, the listener, for the rest of your life. That's what it's like to use streaming services without ExpressVPN. You only get to watch content available in one country. ExpressVPN lets you change your online location so you can control where you want a streaming service to think you're located. They have servers in over 100 countries so you can gain access to thousands of new shows and never run out of stuff to watch.

• 24:56Benito Skinner?

I know, and it actually works because I really wanted to watch the Alexander McQueen documentary, but it wasn't on Amazon in Toronto, I believe. In Canada, I couldn't access it. So then, ExpressVPN, guess who?

• 25:06Mary Beth Barone?

  Knock, knock. It's Benny Drama.

• 25:08Benito Skinner?

Knock, knock. Just kidding, I'm in Vermont.

• 25:11Mary Beth Barone?

It's so easy to use. You can fire up the app and click one button to change locations. It works on phones, laptops, tablets, smart TVs, and more. I didn't even know it worked on smart TVs, so I'm learning. You stream in HD with zero buffering, and it's rated number one by top tech reviewers like CNET and The Verge.

• 25:27Benito Skinner?

  So be smart, you guys.

• 25:29Mary Beth Barone?

  Please.

• 25:29Benito Skinner?

Stop paying full price for streaming services and only getting access to a fraction of their content. Get your money's worth at expressvpn.com/ridepod. Don't forget to use my link. It's kind of just mine at this point. Expressvpn.com/ridepod to get an extra four months of ExpressVPN for free.

• 25:50Mary Beth Barone?

  Wait, where are we going?

• 25:51Benito Skinner?

  Who cares? Ride!

• 25:54Mary Beth Barone?

Do you want to start or should I?

• 25:55Benito Skinner?

I don't even know. It's like, who came first? Galileo. So start it off, sis.

• 26:00Mary Beth Barone?

So there's no way of knowing who came first, but if I had to guess, I would say Galileo.

• 26:04Benito Skinner?

Cause he's written in the stars.

• 26:06Mary Beth Barone?

He's written in the stars. So Galileo, whose full name is, is Long, but his slightly, okay, Galileo.

• 26:15Benito Skinner?

Oh, you're coming with the hard facts, girl.

• 26:17Mary Beth Barone?

I'm coming in with the hard facts. Galileo went by his first name, much like in the style of Beyonce, Zendaya, Rihanna. We just will call him Galileo.

• 26:27Benito Skinner?

But he said, call me Galileo. He said, drop the whole thing. Galileo's cleaner.

• 26:31Mary Beth Barone?

It's cleaner. Drop the Galilei, it's cleaner. So Galileo is really a legend in the space and I want to just rattle off some things that he is the father of. He's daddy.

• 26:46Benito Skinner?

  Please.

• 26:47Mary Beth Barone?

It says this on Wikipedia. Galileo has been called the father of modern observational astronomy, modern era classical physics, the scientific method, and modern science. Holy shit.

• 27:01Benito Skinner?

Okay, so he kind of fathered, y'all.

• 27:03Mary Beth Barone?

He is, he, we have so much to thank him for. I mean, I'm obsessed with the scientific method, but that's not even what I think is like the most impressive about what he did or like making telescopes better. He said that he did not think Earth was in the center of the universe. He had a sun centric model of the universe.

• 27:23Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 27:23Mary Beth Barone?

And like to be able to come up with that in the 1600s.

• 27:28Benito Skinner?

To look up at the sky with one finger in your mouth and go. This doesn't revolve around this, does it? We revolve around it. Here's my thing, didn't people really come for him? He was like controversial.

• 27:42Mary Beth Barone?

He was really controversial and I just think it's cool that he like, he was able to rise above the criticism and the haters and all of his ops.

• 27:49Benito Skinner?

Isn't he, Earth wasn't flat either?

• 27:51Mary Beth Barone?

I believe he, I don't know this for a fact, but that was what first got me like hooked on this guy.

• 27:57Benito Skinner?

I mean, God, you're gagged for it.

• 27:58Mary Beth Barone?

So if that's not what happened, then I don't really care. But to me, he's the first person that said Earth isn't flat.

• 28:03Benito Skinner?

Yeah, and then B O B is the last person who said it was flat.

• 28:06Mary Beth Barone?

And I do think it's interesting that still to this day, there's people who are saying it's flat.

• 28:11Benito Skinner?

Was that a lie that Millie Bobby Brown said it?

• 28:14Mary Beth Barone?

I'm not sure because of all the, there's no fact checking on Meta, so.

• 28:18Benito Skinner?

Oh, God, God forbid. No, it's just kind of like all the lore of her. This poor girl, leave her alone.

• 28:26Mary Beth Barone?

I do ride for her because.

• 28:27Benito Skinner?

  I ride for her forever.

• 28:29Mary Beth Barone?

That's a different episode, but I do ride for Millie Bobby Brown.

• 28:31Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 28:32Mary Beth Barone?

So what, what I think is so cool is to have a Wikipedia that has a line like this. On 30th November, 1609, Galileo aimed his telescope at the moon. So think about that for five fucking seconds.

• 28:44Benito Skinner?

And he was next to a girl and he said, do you want it? I'll get it for you. That's what he said, right?

• 28:50Mary Beth Barone?

And then he said, no, I'm just gonna name a star after you.

• 28:53Benito Skinner?

  A shooting star.

• 28:55Mary Beth Barone?

And he came up with the business of paying $50 to name a star after someone. So there was a lot of controversy over heliocentrism. And I just think like facts will prevail. And what really scares me and something that I love about Interstellar is when Coop goes to Murph's school and does a parent teacher conference and they've taken out the moon landing from US textbooks because they're like, that was propaganda. And it just scares me that that like can happen because we have all these facts. And it's like, wait, but they're gonna be gone.

• 29:23Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 29:23Mary Beth Barone?

  What do we do?

• 29:24Benito Skinner?

I know, where's, where's our next Galileo to lead us?

• 29:28Mary Beth Barone?

If Galileo was around today with all these tools, all this information, the internet, I just feel like he could get all the plastic out of the ocean. Where are our great minds? I don't know, they don't have name recognition, I can tell you that.

• 29:41Benito Skinner?

I hate to, I'm sure there is such an easy explanation for this because there was when I came for Big Pharma with my cold industry theory. My one conspiracy theory has now been debunked. There are too many strains of the cold. There's no, you know, there is no cure, there couldn't be one. So that's what I've been told. And I went, oh, okay. Yes, I'll just turn a blind. Dive in. Is that's what you want me to do? Lay down? Galileo didn't lay down. He stood strong. He stood strong against y'all. I, I really am kinda like, all these drones and we can't tell them how to clean up the ocean. Come on. Can we stop using AI for set design and start fucking using AI for something that humans can't do? That'd be really cute.

• 30:22Mary Beth Barone?

Rein. That's all I have to say. Why hasn't anyone invented it yet?

• 30:26Benito Skinner?

  I wanted that.

• 30:29Benito Skinner?

Wait, what is the line? Is it, doesn't Taylor Swift say Galileo?

• 30:34Mary Beth Barone?

Really? I'm gonna have to Google this one. Leo, Taylor Swift. I want this to have zero results. Do you get that?

• 30:41Benito Skinner?

  Or zero or 10 billion.

• 30:44Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't see it, babe.

• 30:46Benito Skinner?

  Galileo, who does she say?

• 30:47Mary Beth Barone?

  Google search results have.

• 30:48Benito Skinner?

Oh, oh, sorry. Sorry. And sorry to Galileo. Fuck.

• 30:52Mary Beth Barone?

  We're cutting this. We can't, we can't.

• 30:53Benito Skinner?

No, I'm sorry. It's Aristotle. You know how to ball. I know Aristotle. That's what it is. But I thought she said Galileo in a way. Galileo, if you're listening. Sorry, sweetie.

• 31:04Mary Beth Barone?

Sorry to be disrespectful in that, in that way.

• 31:06Benito Skinner?

That's kind of our show, though. It's you singing to me. You know how to ball. I know Aristotle.

• 31:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 31:14Benito Skinner?

  You know what I mean?

• 31:15Mary Beth Barone?

  Let's move on.

• 31:16Benito Skinner?

  What else about Galileo?

• 31:17Mary Beth Barone?

As you know, and I've said this before, I think Sir Isaac Newton should have more clout. Cause like what he did is still taught in schools this day, along with Galileo. So Galileo's theoretical and experimental work on the motions of bodies, along with the largely independent work of Kepler and Rene Descartes, was a precursor of the classical mechanics developed by Sir Isaac Newton. So it's like, he, like, Galileo was the reference. You know what I mean?

• 31:38Benito Skinner?

  He's been that reference.

• 31:40Mary Beth Barone?

He's been the reference. He just did so much with just the tools that they had at the time. And I just wish someone like that would come forth and like, help us save society, democracy. I don't know, the planet, like, all those things.

• 31:52Benito Skinner?

  Galileo, Galileo.

• 31:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Galileo, let him go.

• 31:55Benito Skinner?

Everyone in the Dear Media office starts, "Galileo."

• 31:58Mary Beth Barone?

They start singing Bohemian Rhapsody. Galileo, to no one's surprise, was Italian. And so that's why I feel like a kinship to him, because you can't tell me we're not related.

• 32:07Benito Skinner?

Today's about kinship. Oh, you are so in his lineage.

• 32:10Mary Beth Barone?

I am. I really think so. And talk about the original galaxy brain. I feel very inspired by Galileo.

• 32:17Benito Skinner?

You are so Galileo, and I am so Picasso. Do you get that?

• 32:22Mary Beth Barone?

When you really think about it, yeah.

• 32:25Benito Skinner?

You want to talk about Did It With Chair? I have so much to say in a second, but I'm not quite done with Galileo. I have a couple of questions.

• 32:31Mary Beth Barone?

Did I already talk about the really mean comment someone left on Caleb Heron's podcast Reddit about my episode?

• 32:36Benito Skinner?

  What'd they say?

• 32:37Mary Beth Barone?

Someone wrote, first of all, who are you talking to? But someone wrote-

• 32:40Benito Skinner?

Exact, every comment, who are you talking to?

• 32:42Mary Beth Barone?

Someone wrote, I like this episode, but she's really stupid? Question mark? I feel like she's so vapid and all of her observations about society are really surface level. I just can't believe she kept referring to herself as someone with depth. And it's really surprising because Benito Skinner is really intelligent and all of his satire is so smart, so I just can't believe they would have a podcast together.

• 33:02Benito Skinner?

It's so funny she says that-

• 33:03Mary Beth Barone?

That's off memory, by the way.

• 33:04Benito Skinner?

  Oh, exactly.

• 33:06Mary Beth Barone?

I remembered every word of that.

• 33:07Benito Skinner?

Do you guys want to hear any mean tweets said about me? I could tell you the exact handle, the date, the time, everything, how many likes, how many comments. Yeah, I can actually let that consume me. As far as that comment, I can't stress enough, and I know all the baronies, they know you're the smarter of the two of us, and I say it to Terry all the time. I'm literally like, she's a genius.

• 33:25Mary Beth Barone?

But I, I never tout myself as being smart. I'm like, I'm a bimbo, I like, I'm a comedian, I don't, it just pissed me off. I'm like, you clearly don't know me, you just don't get it.

• 33:34Benito Skinner?

Sometimes it's hard because when you go on a podcast, everyone thinks it's just like, oh, that's so fun. But I'm like, no, you are entering a whole other community and they love their host and they have a very certain set of things that they like the episodes to sound like. I think that's why, I don't know, this feels more safe to me. I think if we brought in a guest more frequently, they'd be put into the lion's den in a lot of ways. But yeah, you have to really come correct when you're on podcasts because they'll rip you limb from limb. There was a few Jake Shane comments I got that are like, stop interrupting Jake. And I'm like, we're talking, we're just two gay guys talking, this is how we do it. Question, did Galileo get thrown into a lion's den? Or was that something else I'm thinking of?

• 34:14Mary Beth Barone?

I don't see the word lion's den on his Wikipedia, I did Ctrl F.

• 34:17Benito Skinner?

Did they put him in jail?

• 34:19Mary Beth Barone?

So, okay, his championing of heliocentrism, which maybe he, I think Copernicus was the first one to propose that, but Galileo like made it popular, whatever.

• 34:28Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 34:28Mary Beth Barone?

It was met with opposition from the Catholic Church and some astronomers.

• 34:31Benito Skinner?

Copernicus, Madonna, Galileo, Gaga, do you get that?

• 34:35Mary Beth Barone?

Whoa, yes. And I'd love to know how more of them fit into that, but we'll, we'll talk about it. About that offline.

• 34:41Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 34:42Mary Beth Barone?

So the matter was investigated by the Roman Inquisition. And then also, I guess, like, there was this book he wrote called The Dialogue Concerning The Two Chief World Systems, which appeared to attack the Pope and the Jesuits, who had strongly supported Galileo up to that point. So he was actually tried by the Inquisition and found vehemently suspect of hearsay and forced to recant.

• 35:02Benito Skinner?

He came for his fans, too, which, like, that's a true, a true genius in a lot of ways.

• 35:06Mary Beth Barone?

A true genius. And he wasn't afraid to push boundaries and force people to think differently. I think, like, being tried for hearsay, like, that's something I would love to experience.

• 35:16Benito Skinner?

Yeah, he kind of has, like, Doja Cat flair.

• 35:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Totally. Whoa.

• 35:20Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Should we get into Picasso?

• 35:22Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, I would love to.

• 35:24Benito Skinner?

OK, so here's the thing. I, I don't have a computer or anything in front of me to fact check anything, but I did so many school projects on him. Picasso, that's my baby love. That's Daddy Supreme. He was born in the 1880s, I know, and I think he died in 1973. And I do think that is factual. He's a Scorpio, in case anyone was wondering. What was Galileo?

• 35:47Mary Beth Barone?

He was born in January, early January.

• 35:49Benito Skinner?

  Oh, Capricorn.

• 35:50Mary Beth Barone?

  Capricorn.

• 35:51Benito Skinner?

  I see that.

• 35:51Mary Beth Barone?

January 8th, 1642. Picasso dying in the 1970s. If you gave everyone a multiple choice test and said, what decade did Picasso die in? I think most people would say 1910. Some people would probably say late 1800s. So the fact that he was around during the Vietnam War is, like, crazy.

• 36:09Benito Skinner?

I know, and there was crossover between him and one Mr. Einstein.

• 36:14Mary Beth Barone?

  No!

• 36:16Benito Skinner?

  Girl.

• 36:17Mary Beth Barone?

That was the atom bomb going off.

• 36:19Benito Skinner?

  That's what I did. I'm, I'm into sound effects.

• 36:21Mary Beth Barone?

  Mushroom cloud.

• 36:22Benito Skinner?

I'm like a young straight boy playing with toys. I remember they'd come over and do that, and I was like, what are you doing? Put that Lego down.

• 36:28Mary Beth Barone?

  Can you put him down?

• 36:29Benito Skinner?

Everything has its place. So here's the thing. I knew about Picasso from a young age because my godmother, who's Basque. Carmen, I miss you every day. I never got to come out to her, but as I said, I asked her for a Bratz doll once. So I did, I think, come out to her.

• 36:44Mary Beth Barone?

  Effectively.

• 36:45Benito Skinner?

Effectively came out to her. But there is this place in Boise called the Basque Block. And there is, like, a, a portion of this huge mural, because there's a huge population of Basque people who immigrated from the Basque country to Idaho. Sheep herders. It's crazy. So, and that's my lineage. Hey, I'm not Bentley. I swear. Or certificate says Benito.

• 37:07Mary Beth Barone?

Donald Trump is demanding to see your birth certificate.

• 37:10Benito Skinner?

You can have it. In the Basque Block in Boise, which if you're ever in Boise, Idaho, go, it's amazing. There's this like huge like cultural center and restaurants and it's fabulous. But there's this painting of Guernica, which is by Picasso. So I knew of this painting for a long time, which is obviously the bombing of-

• 37:26Mary Beth Barone?

I thought it was called Guernica. So that's cool.

• 37:28Benito Skinner?

Well, yes, but me and Ilaria say it as Guernica.

• 37:32Mary Beth Barone?

And you and Ilaria say ex-mahina when talking about the Alex Garland film.

• 37:37Benito Skinner?

  Cucumber?

• 37:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Cucumber.

• 37:39Benito Skinner?

What is the word for cucumber? So I knew of him and this like work and this painting, which I've never seen the painting, which I, I, I want to see it so bad one day. I don't know exactly where Guernica is, but I've been to his museum in Barcelona. When I studied abroad, it was like something I, I had to do and I went and it absolutely rocked my world. Here's why I love Picasso. To know all the rules and to just say, fuck it. I want to make trouble and I want to make art. And that's what he did. Know the classics and rewrite the rules. What do I always say? So I'm not kidding, but Picasso's with me always. Like, I get that. Also, he loves a striped T and who loves a striped T?

• 38:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Benny Drama 7.

• 38:20Benito Skinner?

Me. So, oh my God, and he loves women, but like in a different way than I do, but he loves them. And so then all of a sudden he's like, fuck it. Here's like cubism. And you know who hated him? Hitler. Uh, yeah.

• 38:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Talk about ops.

• 38:35Benito Skinner?

Ops. What a great ops to have. Now you know you're on the right side of history, Mr. Picasso. So he does this like, it just complete, he revolutionizes the art world and the art form. You want to talk about eras? He's kind of like one of the first people to have eras. Can we talk about the blue period? Like he had drama, he had flair. And I just know that like, oh, dinner with him. Like, I'm sure it was so fun and long and he would just kind of like, do it quickly and draw a little dove with one line. He is just an artist to me. His work always speaks to me. It's so beautiful. I think there's so much love in it. I feel his love. Yeah. I just think he's just like a delicious man. And I love every piece of his that I've seen. I'm obsessed with it.

• 39:20Benito Skinner?

I've seen the women, the women, I believe is in, is at the MoMA in New York. And I remember walking in, it was- Maybe like 10 years ago when I saw it and it shook me. I mean, the size of some of these pieces, like he just did it with fucking chair.

• 39:35Mary Beth Barone?

  He did it with chair.

• 39:36Benito Skinner?

  In just a crazy way.

• 39:38Mary Beth Barone?

There is a photo I have saved to my phone that it's a sketch he did of one of his mistresses. And it's just like so simple, but it's, oh, here it is. I'm gonna show it to you. I mean, they can't see this, but Benny, look how cool this is.

• 39:50Benito Skinner?

  Like, are you kidding?

• 39:52Mary Beth Barone?

I know. I mean, it's just, yeah, he, he was a renegade trailblazer and-

• 39:57Benito Skinner?

  Renegade. That's Pablo.

• 39:59Mary Beth Barone?

Like, I also think like he's one of those people where I'm kind of glad he didn't live in the internet age because I don't need to know his opinion on everything. Like, I know he was a philanderer and he like slept around and stuff, which I think is so cool, like sleep your way to the top all the way. But I don't necessarily want to know what he would have thought of like modern liberalism. Like, I'm glad he lived when he did.

• 40:19Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I mean, he was a ladies' man. I'm not gonna lie. He was a man of his time. And I like to think that he had love for women and respected them. From what all I've received on his end, it seems like he did. But absolutely, I'm really glad he never had Twitter to disappoint-

• 40:33Mary Beth Barone?

He never had Twitter. And I think having women as your muse and just like appreciating the female form and kind of reinventing it on the page, on the canvas-

• 40:42Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 40:42Mary Beth Barone?

Is, it's brave and I think it's beautiful.

• 40:45Benito Skinner?

He was political at the scariest time to be political, and that's how I know I fuck with him. Guernica, he did that in 1937. He was coming for you whores. And if you haven't seen that work, look it up. If you've seen it in person, tell me what you felt like when you saw it. I all, I want to do a big field trip. I want to do a museum field trip for us in Barcelona to the Picasso Museum. I wish we could do that. I'm sure there's like a student run, a student run trip company.

• 41:15Mary Beth Barone?

A student run trip company. If anybody out there knows of a student run-

• 41:19Benito Skinner?

Do you understand how hard it is to think of words when you're looking at your bestie?

• 41:22Mary Beth Barone?

No, I really do. Also, I didn't, I just clocked the year ring. I've been trying to figure out what the first word on your T-shirt was.

• 41:27Benito Skinner?

  Boston College.

• 41:28Mary Beth Barone?

Boston College. Where is this T-shirt from?

• 41:30Benito Skinner?

I got it on Grailed. Paid. Well, that was a paid spot.

• 41:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Paid sponsor post.

• 41:34Benito Skinner?

I was wearing it on vacation and this woman comes up, she goes, did you go to Boston College? And I hated her vibe. And I said, nope, but my friend dropped out from there. And I said that. It was so fun. I was so proud of it. Her face, she could not deal with it. But I just could tell she was someone who was mean to waiters. Like, I didn't like the way her and her husband were acting at this restaurant. It wasn't sitting well with me. And the way she said it was kind of like, you know, I bet you didn't even go there, you know?

• 42:01Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you should have said, I went to Georgetown.

• 42:03Benito Skinner?

What are we about to shoot the shit, girl? If I went there, we wouldn't have gone at the same time. Enjoy your day. Oh, and by the way, I'm filming you.

• 42:10Mary Beth Barone?

I'm filming you. This is an extra long episode today. And like, I'm not sorry for it. I'm not going to apologize for it. Like, sometimes the episodes can be longer. I think it's actually like cool and fun.

• 42:21Benito Skinner?

  I completely agree.

• 42:22Mary Beth Barone?

It shows that we're feeling inspired. I called my friend the other day, my friend Megan, who lives in LA. Because when, when I first started comedy, we used to make so much stuff. We did like a couple of web series. We did a short film called Mary Beth Sex Tape. I did these videos where I did a Melania Trump impression. And I was like, why do I feel the need to like make things right now? And then we realized it's because it's like literally all we can do. So now all we can, I guess, do is sort of like just make art and

• 42:48Benito Skinner?

  Trouble.

• 42:48Mary Beth Barone?

  Hope for the best.

• 42:49Benito Skinner?

We can make art and make trouble. And that's what Picasso did. And that's what Galileo did in a lot of ways. I'm sure they would have.

• 42:54Mary Beth Barone?

Galileo made science and he made trouble. And that's.

• 42:57Benito Skinner?

Are they at the same table in Midnight in Paris? I don't think so. Not to reference.

• 43:01Mary Beth Barone?

I don't think Galileo made it. No, and I'm glad. Okay, I am glad that you brought that up because I, he, Picasso is in that movie.

• 43:09Benito Skinner?

  I know, yeah.

• 43:10Mary Beth Barone?

That movie, and I'm going to say this, and I'm not going to cut it. I think season one, we would have cut it. I really, really struggle with not liking that movie.

• 43:19Benito Skinner?

  I struggle.

• 43:20Mary Beth Barone?

I just love Midnight in Paris. Like, I just like the movie.

• 43:23Benito Skinner?

Okay, and can I just make you feel a little bit better? Blue Jasmine, that's mine. That I'm like, God. But I watch it for Cate Blanchett. I don't watch it for him.

• 43:31Mary Beth Barone?

I know. And it's like, one, believe victims. I also think we are allowed a few things that we can still watch or listen to that may be, like, just in our private time. We're not like.

• 43:43Benito Skinner?

You're not advertising it. You're not talking about it on a podcast.

• 43:46Mary Beth Barone?

On a podcast. I would never talk about it on a podcast.

• 43:49Benito Skinner?

  No, God, no.

• 43:49Mary Beth Barone?

It's really murky. It's murky water.

• 43:51Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 43:51Mary Beth Barone?

To all the people who are like the left leftist people, lefty people who want to pretend that they don't have those things, like, I just know you're lying.

• 44:00Benito Skinner?

And I don't know if it's helping us.

• 44:02Mary Beth Barone?

If I look to your Spotify, like, yeah, that's not the things to like attack us for. You know what I mean? But if you want to, and you probably, you might, like, if that brings you joy in that moment, calling me stupid, then sure.

• 44:12Benito Skinner?

Whoever said that comment, may they experience the loss of a child. Sorry. No.

• 44:20Mary Beth Barone?

Well, now we have to keep that in.

• 44:21Benito Skinner?

No, god damn it. I swear I don't, it's just like, I don't know what.

• 44:27Mary Beth Barone?

  It's satire.

• 44:28Benito Skinner?

People are gonna drink more and the comedy's gonna get darker. I don't know what to tell you guys, but we're also gonna make more art, more trouble. Picasso, baby.

• 44:36Mary Beth Barone?

I can't wait to tell you my new jokes I have about all this. I like, I'm bitty thinking about it, not now.

• 44:43Benito Skinner?

I can't believe how much I'm your muse. Like, I'm the woman in a lot of ways. Should we get into ride or die?

• 44:48Mary Beth Barone?

You know what you are, Benny?

• 44:49Benito Skinner?

  Hmm, I [BLEEP].

• 44:50Mary Beth Barone?

Your words, not mine. Babe, you're my ride or die.

• 44:54Benito Skinner?

  Ride or die.

• 44:55Mary Beth Barone?

Yes, we can get into ride or die. I think at this point goes without saying, I ride for Picasso. I ride for people who are challenging the norm. I ride for people who are in a category all their own.

• 45:07Benito Skinner?

Yeah. Today's about the original references.

• 45:10Mary Beth Barone?

They are about the original references.

• 45:11Benito Skinner?

To create an era that is studied in the history books, like, these are daddies of modern art, culture, science, and sex and power.

• 45:22Mary Beth Barone?

And they, they created like new categories even within that. One thing that I hate about people, about people in general, is that when someone comes along, like Picasso, who's like a genius, then there's like all these little copycats and stepsons that like think they could do it like he's doing it. If he inspires you and then you go and like you do your own thing, I think that's great, but like, you'll just never be Picasso.

• 45:46Benito Skinner?

And dear media, with that, you looking at me saying, you'll never be Picasso. All these bitches is his sons and he's gonna go and get some dibs for them. I completely agree. He must have just been like at so many galleries and just been like, damn, I am so in your freaking mind right now. You're obsessed. Bleep it. And he said that, he said that.

• 46:07Mary Beth Barone?

I also think if Hitler hated you.

• 46:10Benito Skinner?

You're doing something right. And my man was doing a lot of things right because I saw the work and I loved the work. And just him and his freaking, like, he also loved a boat neck. I forgot to say that and I love a boat neck.

• 46:19Mary Beth Barone?

The St. James boat neck top.

• 46:21Benito Skinner?

St. James boat neck top. It's like to get, I'm like, to show a little collarbone, like, how, like, I'm understanding how much he, like, is my reference. I go to him at all times.

• 46:31Mary Beth Barone?

And I know you ride for sex, so it all ties together.

• 46:34Benito Skinner?

Totally. To be tan and have sex? Come on.

• 46:38Mary Beth Barone?

It's besides making art, it's all we can do.

• 46:42Benito Skinner?

Literally. We're fucking you guys. So here's the thing. I, I ride so hard for Galileo. What a genius. I think it would have been tricky to have dinners with him. I'm sure that he, you know, he had galaxy brain, but here I am at a podcast with the smartest person I know in the world, who has a galaxy brain and how lucky am I to be with Galileo's great, great, great granddaughter, Mary Vesperone. My love of loves.

• 47:09Mary Beth Barone?

  I'm gonna start cleaning that.

• 47:11Benito Skinner?

To anyone who doesn't fuck with Galileo, may they experience the loss of a child.

• 47:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Of a child.

• 47:18Benito Skinner?

Who cares? Let's have a little fun, Ken. Season two is almost like, it's like coming to an end. I'm starting to get stressed because I like, I want us to have like, uh, like, I want us to have a woodworking space for season three or something. Like, that's what I think I want the backdrop to be. Do you know what I mean?

• 47:34Mary Beth Barone?

Now that they will not see coming, I'm gonna tell you that right now.

• 47:36Benito Skinner?

Keep them on their toes. That'll be our cubism era.

• 47:39Mary Beth Barone?

Cubism era. You know what Picasso and Galileo both said, which Shania Twain then said later down the line? Expect the unexpected. You might think that the, that the whole fucking universe, the whole solar system revolves around Earth. Well, guess what? It doesn't.

• 47:56Benito Skinner?

Yeah, you know what this is? That you drive a sports car thinking of my baby. Now you're driving real hard. Hey, cute jeans. Take mine off me.

• 48:12Benito Skinner?

  Oh, my exit.

• 48:13Mary Beth Barone?

Benny, babe, eyes on the road.

• 48:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Benny, go!

• 48:26Speaker 05
