  I'm Mary Beth Brown.

• 0:33Benito Skinner?

  And this.

• 0:33Mary Beth Barone?

  Is.

• 0:34Benito Skinner?

  Ride.

• 0:37Speaker 00

  Oh, no.

• 0:39Benito Skinner?

  What?

• 0:40Speaker 00

  It's not bad, right?

• 0:41Mary Beth Barone?

  It's so cute.

• 0:42Speaker 00

  Let me see.

• 0:43Mary Beth Barone?

  It's so cute.

• 0:45Speaker 00

  That's my baby, love.

• 0:46Mary Beth Barone?

  My baby.

• 0:47Speaker 00

  Literally, those are your babies.

• 0:49Benito Skinner?

I look so fucking ugly in these.

• 0:51Mary Beth Barone?

You never look as bad as you think you do. I just wanna say that. But we can address the fact that we're not wearing makeup.

• 0:56Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I guess we have to, right?

• 0:59Mary Beth Barone?

Wait, you have a little piece of dry skin on that one. Yeah.

• 1:02Benito Skinner?

  Oh, it's flaking off?

• 1:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 1:03Benito Skinner?

  Yay.

• 1:04Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 1:05Benito Skinner?

Oh, my God. How's it now? That's so cool. It's kind of all fine, right?

• 1:09Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, I mean, I'm not trying to deny your reality. We're keeping this.

• 1:14Speaker 00

  Oh, man, you tricked me.

• 1:17Mary Beth Barone?

  I know.

• 1:17Speaker 00

  You fucking tricked me.

• 1:18Mary Beth Barone?

  I know.

• 1:19Benito Skinner?

God, you know what's crazy? Have we talked about how much escape rooms just like aren't our shit? Like, we are not about it? Do you have the funniest thing? I quoted you to someone yesterday talking about escape rooms, but I'm not sure if you said this, but you were like, women are actively trying to not be in an escape room, so I don't need to go in.

• 1:37Mary Beth Barone?

No, I would never need to pay for that experience. I don't know if I've said that. I'm sure I'm not the first.

• 1:41Benito Skinner?

I think you said I'm spending kind of all my days trying to not get kidnapped.

• 1:44Mary Beth Barone?

To not be trapped in a room with, with anyone, really. I just wanna have the freedom to leave at any time.

• 1:49Benito Skinner?

I just know that immediately I'd have to fart, sorry, and then immediately I would be completely worthless.

• 1:55Mary Beth Barone?

Can I, can I just say something?

• 1:56Benito Skinner?

  But morale? High as hell.

• 1:59Mary Beth Barone?

  If you like escape rooms.

• 2:00Benito Skinner?

Oh, and by the way, this is Ride the Podcast with Mary Beth Barone and Benito Skinner. We're so happy to have you guys here. Take it away.

• 2:06Mary Beth Barone?

If you like escape rooms, we are just diametrically not like, we're fundamentally in opposition with each other. We could never be close. There's just a level we'll never reach because that's just so something I would never do.

• 2:18Benito Skinner?

But you would do laser tag.

• 2:19Mary Beth Barone?

And I have done laser tag and I love laser tag. And I'm sorry.

• 2:23Benito Skinner?

And I've been doing laser tag.

• 2:24Mary Beth Barone?

If there are Baronies out there who love escape rooms, I completely, like, I love that you, just like the Icebreaker thing last week, I love that you love it.

• 2:31Benito Skinner?

  Thank you, sweetie.

• 2:31Mary Beth Barone?

But there's just a level we're never gonna get to.

• 2:34Benito Skinner?

The amount of letters I've gotten since I did the Icebreaker's ice cubes ride, it's like, everyone's like, it's your best, you killed that. Like, it was so, like, engaging and exciting to listen to.

• 2:42Mary Beth Barone?

We couldn't wait to see what you said next.

• 2:44Benito Skinner?

It was so like, I was at the edge of my seat, like, that's why you have a podcast, dude, and I don't. Yeah, yeah, there's no judgment. There are some things like that where I'm just like, I just know we'd never be married personally. If you wanted to do this all the time.

• 2:58Mary Beth Barone?

And in that, in that sense, I should have known, if you know what I mean. So there's a really fun new party game that I came up with. There's a really fun new party game that I came up with. So you take turns. So let's say there's 10 people at the party. So if we were at a party with eight other people, I'm just doing some quick math here.

• 3:14Benito Skinner?

Shit, okay, sorry. I, I, I never did calculus two. Wasn't it called Calc two or whatever?

• 3:20Mary Beth Barone?

Probably. Precalc, calc one, calc two.

• 3:22Benito Skinner?

  There's calc two, right?

• 3:23Mary Beth Barone?

  And some other shit.

• 3:24Benito Skinner?

Oh, and then there's like arithmetic.

• 3:25Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, whatever.

• 3:26Benito Skinner?

No, no, no. What's the really, it's like Orgo.

• 3:30Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't know.

• 3:30Benito Skinner?

That's when this shit got crazy.

• 3:32Mary Beth Barone?

I don't even know that word. Me going.

• 3:37Benito Skinner?

I love, I watched Good Will Hunting recently and I was just, I forgot how iconic it is. The whole thing is just like, he's so fucking smart. But we don't really like know, it's just kind of like.

• 3:46Mary Beth Barone?

  Been in it a while.

• 3:47Benito Skinner?

Yeah, he's just so fucking smart, which I think is an incredible plot. To just be like.

• 3:51Mary Beth Barone?

  No, no, no, no.

• 3:52Benito Skinner?

  So there's this guy.

• 3:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Really fucking smart.

• 3:54Benito Skinner?

  He's a fucking genius.

• 3:56Mary Beth Barone?

He's smart. So it's this new game where we would sit in a circle and everyone would describe, let's say you went first, everyone described Benny as if you were trying to set him up on a date with someone. So you're trying to sell him to that person and you're gonna describe Benny like in three sentences. And then when you have like two minutes or three minutes, whatever to do it, and then you all go around and you read what you wrote about the person. And it's all like, it's all love. And you can be a little funny and maybe get some jabs in there, but mostly it's just all love. And it's just like, this is the best person I know. He is so funny. He's so sexy.

• 4:30Benito Skinner?

  Is this you doing it?

• 4:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, yeah.

• 4:31Benito Skinner?

Oh, wait. Okay, do it. And then I'll do yours. Wait, I'm really excited. This is so nice.

• 4:35Mary Beth Barone?

This is the best person I know. He is my best friend.

• 4:37Benito Skinner?

  Oh, my God.

• 4:38Mary Beth Barone?

  He went to Georgetown.

• 4:39Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 4:40Mary Beth Barone?

Okay. No, he's really fucking smart.

• 4:43Benito Skinner?

No, the kid's smart. You wouldn't know it.

• 4:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Fucking smart, dude.

• 4:46Benito Skinner?

Three times you're with him, four time, you're like, shit.

• 4:48Mary Beth Barone?

You're like, shit. People literally clamor for his attention because he is such a good friend and a good person. And I just think he deserves to be the happiest man in the world.

• 4:57Benito Skinner?

That's so sweet. Okay, Mary Beth Brown, she is this stunning, iconic, dry, sharp, deeply brilliant, most brilliant person I know that exists. And I can't believe she exists because I'm so lucky to exist at the same time as her. And she's so pretty. She has Tim Burton eyes. And lately, she's been giving Leighton Meester. And I love her clothes and her sense of fashion. It's playful, but it's still like sharp in like 90s New York, but at the same time can be very playful, very early 2000s. And if you break her heart, well, good luck getting through me, motherfucker.

• 5:32Mary Beth Barone?

And then we just end up going on a date.

• 5:33Benito Skinner?

  And then we kiss.

• 5:34Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, we have sex in front of the other eight people.

• 5:37Benito Skinner?

I mean, I could talk about you forever.

• 5:38Mary Beth Barone?

No, I mean, my God, it's like.

• 5:40Benito Skinner?

I mean, my goodness, it's hard to whittle it down.

• 5:42Mary Beth Barone?

But isn't that fun to do it also?

• 5:43Benito Skinner?

Talking your jewelry. You saw what I was writing for today.

• 5:46Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, yeah. Also, wouldn't it be fun to just do that? Like, okay, God, if I could just write the scene right now.

• 5:52Benito Skinner?

Fuck, write it. Fuck it. Fuck it. This could be the writer's room. I mean, we are starting it soon.

• 5:56Mary Beth Barone?

You're at a party and your crush is there and you play the game and your crush gets to hear all the things that your best friend say about you. Oh, my God.

• 6:11Benito Skinner?

What could be cooler than that? Can you think of one thing that would be cooler than that?

• 6:15Mary Beth Barone?

No, no, there's really, there's nothing. There's nothing. So, and that game was inspired-

• 6:21Benito Skinner?

I can think of one thing that would be cooler than that.

• 6:24Mary Beth Barone?

  What?

• 6:24Benito Skinner?

You show up to the thing and the person's like, Carrie Bradshaw's here? Oh, my God, she looks, she looks incredible.

• 6:30Mary Beth Barone?

She never comes to this bullshit.

• 6:32Benito Skinner?

  She looks fucking incredible.

• 6:34Mary Beth Barone?

The game was inspired because I posted on my Instagram story about my friend Alec, who I posed with doing platonic grilling for his Hinge profile.

• 6:40Benito Skinner?

  I loved that.

• 6:41Mary Beth Barone?

Which was such a cool idea, the same night I met the double vet, by the way. My idea, I'm always innovating.

• 6:46Benito Skinner?

  One, two, three.

• 6:48Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, cool. It's hard to believe all the things I did, and that was after I ran my hour at Union Hall. In my Carol Ann Bisset top, this was all one night. Yeah.

• 6:57Benito Skinner?

The top I picked out for you?

• 6:58Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, I love that top. So then I got my friend texting me on the side going, oh, I have some friends I think we could set Alec up with. And she described them to me in a little short paragraph, and I was just like, send them this, like, show them how you talk about them. This is so beautiful.

• 7:12Benito Skinner?

  That's so gorgeous.

• 7:12Mary Beth Barone?

And then I thought to myself, will a straight man ever really know me?

• 7:17Mary Beth Barone?

Will he ever clock my tea? And I don't think he will.

• 7:20Benito Skinner?

The Julia Roberts and George Clooney meme? Well, I don't know what he says, because I forget that in the meme, but it's from Ocean's 11 or 12.

• 7:28Mary Beth Barone?

Or 13 even, we don't know.

• 7:30Benito Skinner?

Have I not yelled about Ocean's 12 yet? That's coming right after this. And they've reworded Julia Roberts to say, he doesn't clock my tea. I-

• 7:39Mary Beth Barone?

  My thing is-

• 7:39Benito Skinner?

I know if I was straight, I would have bagged it. Like, I know I would have, it would have been a home run.

• 7:43Mary Beth Barone?

Straight guys don't even know what questions to ask. And maybe they never will.

• 7:47Benito Skinner?

  What baffles me is-

• 7:48Mary Beth Barone?

But I have a lot to say on this. I might write a whole book about it. I don't know.

• 7:51Benito Skinner?

Please, we'd love to read it, but I think for me, what I find is I'm just like, I feel so lucky that I get to be in a queer relationship, because it's like, wow, we share so many of the same- Sometimes I'm just like, damn, you guys really have to see some crazy things in theaters. It's just crazy to me. Oh, my God. And you have to, you know.

• 8:14Mary Beth Barone?

  Sports.

• 8:14Benito Skinner?

Well, sometimes I like the splitting, the splitting meals thing, I think is cute.

• 8:18Mary Beth Barone?

  The bills?

• 8:19Benito Skinner?

No, no, no. Like the, where you, you order two things on the menu so that you can try a bunch of stuff. I think that's kind of cute.

• 8:24Mary Beth Barone?

You can do that with friends, though.

• 8:26Benito Skinner?

That's a really good point. You can have sex with friends. Fuck it.

• 8:29Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, I've never done it, but.

• 8:32Benito Skinner?

  And I haven't either.

• 8:33Mary Beth Barone?

And I don't plan to, by the way. There's people you have sex with and then there's your friends. Actually, I've done it once and it did not go well.

• 8:38Benito Skinner?

  I was about to say.

• 8:39Mary Beth Barone?

  It didn't go well.

• 8:40Benito Skinner?

I knew you were gonna get, I was, I was talking your tea a little bit.

• 8:41Mary Beth Barone?

I know. I hadn't thought about you were talking my tea, but it's, that's a whole other thing. And I might write a book about that, too. I'm just like, sorry. It's like, it's inspiring to me. Like, I'm sorry that that happened. And in a. In another life, I would be your girl.

• 8:58Benito Skinner?

I had this moment happen two days ago. I was alone in my house and I went in the bathroom.

• 9:03Mary Beth Barone?

I'm alone in my house. I just rewatched A Star is Born. I watched the whole thing. For some reason, I didn't pause it. I didn't stop it after SNL and I should have.

• 9:11Benito Skinner?

Oh, I stopped it right before the Grammys because I can't, I can't watch my king. Yeah.

• 9:15Mary Beth Barone?

Piss his pants. Piss his literal pants.

• 9:17Benito Skinner?

Not in front of Halsey, which is so funny you brought this up because that's what I did. I went into my bathroom and I, I literally went, I gotta check her for the love. Which she didn't sing in the mall. She sang something else. Someone told me and I forgot. And then I just started laughing with myself.

• 9:32Mary Beth Barone?

And you can do that. You can really, really do that.

• 9:35Benito Skinner?

Well, it's always so funny because in those moments, do you ever have those moments where you kind of like laugh or you make yourself laugh about something? Or mine is I just say it out loud and just thinking if someone saw that, like I, sometimes I'm like, that, that'd be so funny if like Mary Beth saw, just watch that happen.

• 9:48Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, I have a really sad one. When I sensed in my bones that I was gonna get dumped, I woke up with Pinky and I just went, it's gonna be you and me again, kid.

• 9:58Benito Skinner?

  You said it out loud.

• 9:59Mary Beth Barone?

I said it out loud. I just knew it in my bones.

• 10:01Benito Skinner?

It's hard not to be in a movie. Do you ever have this feeling? Sometimes when I'm walking with someone in New York and we're both looking forward and talking, I'm like, oh, we're being filmed.

• 10:09Mary Beth Barone?

  This is a movie.

• 10:09Benito Skinner?

  Sorry.

• 10:11Mary Beth Barone?

  It's pretend.

• 10:12Benito Skinner?

  It's pretend.

• 10:12Mary Beth Barone?

You're an adult, you should know that.

• 10:13Benito Skinner?

You're an adult, you should know that. Yeah, sometimes when that happens, yeah, I'm like, fuck, last night was a fucking movie. I'm dying to have someone say that in season two.

• 10:21Mary Beth Barone?

  And they will.

• 10:22Benito Skinner?

I think I might make Annie say it.

• 10:24Mary Beth Barone?

  I think you should.

• 10:25Benito Skinner?

Last night was a fucking movie and everyone's like, fuck.

• 10:27Mary Beth Barone?

Everyone's like, how? In what way?

• 10:29Benito Skinner?

  Well, everyone being.

• 10:30Mary Beth Barone?

Grace, I walked around Williamsburg listening to Coldplay and it did feel like a movie.

• 10:36Benito Skinner?

  How could it not?

• 10:36Mary Beth Barone?

My agent texted me and was like, what was up with your walk last night? And I was like, what do you mean? He's like, you just made it look so like whimsical and mystical and magical. And I was like, that's just New York.

• 10:45Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 10:46Mary Beth Barone?

  That's New York.

• 10:47Benito Skinner?

No, but that's you, that's you as well. It's like, that's character and setting meeting at this place in the middle.

• 10:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Meeting the why now.

• 10:54Benito Skinner?

I wish I could know everything Gaga said before the mayhem tour, which I went to, and it's just fabulous. But she starts and there's two versions of her talking to each other. The lady in red, of course. I'm not even gonna get into the lady in red. But I wish I knew everything she said, because I would be reciting that a lot to myself and people, you know, while I'm outside. And Pinky. So Julia Roberts in Ocean's Twelve.

• 11:18Mary Beth Barone?

The one where she plays a person that looks like Julia Roberts?

• 11:21Benito Skinner?

  Don't even fucking say it.

• 11:22Mary Beth Barone?

Well, because I just wanted to know, I don't remember which one that that's in.

• 11:25Benito Skinner?

Don't even fucking say it. Here's my thing. This movie exists. Ocean's Eleven is fabulous. Ocean's Twelve is fabulous in sorts. Ocean's Thirteen, fabulous.

• 11:35Mary Beth Barone?

  They're all just good work.

• 11:36Benito Skinner?

It's good work and it's, god, I mean, it's, it's just, it's hunkville. It's hunk de jour. And so in the second film, there's a scene where the whole time they're like, she kind of looks like, and they're talking about Julia Roberts, well, the character, that the character looks like Julia Roberts, who's played by Julia Roberts. It actually, like, it just.

• 11:59Benito Skinner?

It disrupts the time continuum. It disrupts the time continuum in a way that like, they did kind of like invent the multiverse, certainly. Also, something that bothers me is when a movie is referenced in something, this is so weird that I'm remembering this, but the movie Be Kind Rewind. Did you ever see that? Oh, it's incredible movie. But Sigourney Weaver is in it, but in the movie, they reference a movie that she is in. Yeah, I think it was Alien. And my brain, when I saw her on screen, I was like, oh, are they gonna be so excited because they just met her? It's just so hard.

• 12:29Mary Beth Barone?

But I think that what I've chosen to do with that, because you have to make a choice. Everyone has to make a choice at some point when you have to decide what is, what is the reality?

• 12:37Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 12:37Mary Beth Barone?

It's just that there is a famous person named Sigourney Weaver in that universe. And so they were in that movie. And then the character Sigourney Weaver is playing is just, it's just a different person.

• 12:46Benito Skinner?

It's a person. You kind of just have to like blur your eyes.

• 12:48Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. Separate the art and artist, I guess, in a lot of ways. When I'm talking about separating the art from the artist, that's what I'm talking about. I'm not separating allegations and things like that.

• 12:55Benito Skinner?

Julia Roberts in Ocean's 12. That makes sense to me.

• 12:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Exactly.

• 12:58Benito Skinner?

But this, I don't know why. It's just like, it breaks every wall. I mean, the walls are just blown out. And they're about to blow out in this podcast studio, but...

• 13:06Mary Beth Barone?

But that's what you earn when you make great movies like that. They say, well, it's Steven Soderbergh and George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta-Jones, they can do whatever they want.

• 13:16Benito Skinner?

And they can, and they did. And I'm just, I'm, I'm finding it hard to sit with it. Also, they had this thing where like, she should have had like more, like her accent wasn't right. And I'm like, it's just, you're playing games with me. I'm hearing her voice. She has the laugh. Like, if you had planned this for a while, and she spoke not like Julia Roberts this whole time, or did something physically different from her, it's just, it was tough. I don't know. What I like is that we're here talking about it. And that's what great film does. And I love that whole, I don't know what to call, it's a trilogy, but then there's, you know, there's prequel coming, and then there's Ocean's 8, which I love. I watch Ocean's 8 on planes all the time. There's no part in Ocean's 8 where something goes wrong.

• 13:53Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, which is cool.

• 13:54Benito Skinner?

There's like two seconds where it's like, maybe they get caught. It's what I love about it.

• 13:57Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 13:58Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 13:58Mary Beth Barone?

I thought everyone did a really good job.

• 14:00Benito Skinner?

Oh, I think everyone did a really good job.

• 14:03Mary Beth Barone?

  I really did.

• 14:05Speaker 03

It seems like everything is connected to your gut microbiome. We were just in London, here I go. But I said that a couple of times to some Brits and they were enthralled, honestly. • 16:58Benito Skinner?

It's time to reach that colon, me loves.

• 17:03Benito Skinner?

  So, speaking of good job.

• 17:04Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, my God. This is crazy because usually we would be talking about something this recent in a couple of years, but we're going to talk about it. We're going to talk about it.

• 17:12Benito Skinner?

Virgin. It's time to talk about Virgin.

• 17:14Mary Beth Barone?

Really good album. It's really good.

• 17:17Benito Skinner?

I thought. So this girl Ella, she came through with something, it's cerebral, it's bones.

• 17:27Mary Beth Barone?

  Mm-hmm.

• 17:28Benito Skinner?

  And all.

• 17:28Mary Beth Barone?

  Mm-hmm.

• 17:30Benito Skinner?

  It's see-through. It's eclectic.

• 17:34Mary Beth Barone?

But it's also opaque to me.

• 17:36Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, it's transparent.

• 17:37Mary Beth Barone?

It's transparent and it's opaque. It's like multitude.

• 17:41Benito Skinner?

This, I had heard clips early. I will be honest. I just want to be totally honest with everyone. But what I, I hadn't heard like everything in totality. And I just think it's my favorite album of the year. I'm completely shook by it and I can't recommend everyone, if you haven't gone to it, it's one of those things where, yeah, maybe you're not going to get it the first time you listen to it.

• 18:03Mary Beth Barone?

  I completely agree.

• 18:03Benito Skinner?

  And that's, isn't that a good thing?

• 18:05Mary Beth Barone?

But maybe I finally know who I want to be. A grown woman in a baby T.

• 18:09Benito Skinner?

  Grown woman.

• 18:10Mary Beth Barone?

The amount of people that reached out about that and thank you. It's just an honor to be thought of in that way.

• 18:14Benito Skinner?

Of course. I mean, it's hard to, and for me, it's wide hips. Yeah.

• 18:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Right.

• 18:19Benito Skinner?

  96, skiing sky, looking forward.

• 18:23Benito Skinner?

Do you get that? A grown woman, pink galaxy. When she said pink galaxy left undressed, she was talking about my perioral dermatitis.

• 18:31Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, and she'll tell you that. That's on genius.com.

• 18:34Benito Skinner?

I know, I know. There's not one skip for me. David, electric, clear blue. Obviously, I sang it for you. You loved it. I just think if I had to pick one, if you were gonna, you know, wonder, shapeshifter. Shapeshifter, I think I'm kind of like, oh, so it me. You know what I mean?

• 18:51Mary Beth Barone?

Mine's clear blue or grown woman.

• 18:53Benito Skinner?

  Clear blue is your favorite?

• 18:54Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 18:55Benito Skinner?

  That's, oh, that says like-

• 18:56Mary Beth Barone?

  Doesn't that make sense, though?

• 18:57Benito Skinner?

Those two things are exactly you.

• 18:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 18:59Benito Skinner?

Yeah, cuz I'm shapeshifter and, who are you guys?

• 19:02Mary Beth Barone?

  David.

• 19:03Benito Skinner?

Oh, well, David's electric, but like, I can't even watch fan edits to it and sometimes it makes me cry, so I can't do it.

• 19:08Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 19:08Benito Skinner?

  But shapeshifter and Current Affairs.

• 19:11Mary Beth Barone?

Oh, yeah, Current Affairs is so good.

• 19:12Benito Skinner?

First time I heard Current Affairs.

• 19:13Mary Beth Barone?

  Also, favorite daughter.

• 19:15Benito Skinner?

Don't talk about favorite daughter right now. That's next season. But where it goes boom, boom, boom. And there's this little ding, like, change. And, oh, my god, Jimmy Stack, Big Papa. Full goosebumps, knew when I felt it hit. It was only a field trip?

• 19:30Mary Beth Barone?

  But it cooled my blood.

• 19:33Benito Skinner?

That's how it tends to start. You're in the light, then you're in the dark.

• 19:36Mary Beth Barone?

And then you're in the dark.

• 19:37Benito Skinner?

Then someone throws a flare. You're tasting my underwear. I knew we were fucked. Here's the thing.

• 19:45Mary Beth Barone?

  Stream it, learn the words.

• 19:47Benito Skinner?

Can I just say some things to you? Jockstrap, spit, dirt, grass. Like, it's just, it's that to me. It's like, it's a feeling.

• 19:54Mary Beth Barone?

Also, her Rolling Stone interview was really good and very, like, insightful into the process and what she sang with the album. So I really enjoyed that. I read the whole thing.

• 20:04Benito Skinner?

She's brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. It's just, it is who it is and it's so her and genius. And we're so lucky to live at the same time.

• 20:12Mary Beth Barone?

I completely agree. What a true artist and we're thankful that you're sharing your talents with us. Because sometimes people just they they walk away from public life and they don't need to produce anymore when they've made things that have shaped the culture and the generation already from one to sixteen. And I I had just moved to New York when Royals came out and I remember just streaming that whole entire album like

• 20:33Benito Skinner?

  Love Club.

• 20:33Mary Beth Barone?

Over and over and over the tennis court.

• 20:35Benito Skinner?

  Oh my.

• 20:37Mary Beth Barone?

Buzzcut season, Swingin' Party cover. I mean, it's just like it's hit after hit.

• 20:41Benito Skinner?

Don't talk about Buzzcut season to me right now.

• 20:43Mary Beth Barone?

I'm thankful that she continues to make music and we appreciate it.

• 20:46Benito Skinner?

We'll always be here streaming. The Girl So Confusing remix, I believe Pitchfork called it a watershed moment. And if I'm correct, but I, yeah, it just it set the tone. She's there's an honesty. I mean, oh, God, is it shattered glass?

• 21:01Mary Beth Barone?

  Girl singers.

• 21:02Benito Skinner?

  Broken glass or shattered glass?

• 21:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Broken glass.

• 21:04Benito Skinner?

Broken glass? That song too. I just every, I just think the album is so raw and it's raw fucking and it's just incredible. And yeah, that's really it. But there's something about the album. And obviously it was on both of our minds because if you look at the cover and you look at the back cover, two things are really clear. Clear blue.

• 21:26Mary Beth Barone?

  Clear blue.

• 21:27Benito Skinner?

  So it.

• 21:28Mary Beth Barone?

IUD, which is what I will be writing for this week. IUDs.

• 21:32Benito Skinner?

And I'll be writing for jewelry.

• 21:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Jurly.

• 21:34Benito Skinner?

  Jury.

• 21:35Mary Beth Barone?

So we're gonna, we're gonna talk about jurly, which is just to kick things off. DJ Khalid does an interview. I think it's on The Breakfast Club, but I will check. And he can't say the word jewelry and he just keeps calling it jurly.

• 21:46Benito Skinner?

  Well, that's very me.

• 21:47Mary Beth Barone?

  I got so much jurly.

• 21:49Benito Skinner?

I know that you're not. That's very me and I'm not gonna judge someone for that. Sometimes it's and you knew exactly the fuck he was talking about.

• 21:56Mary Beth Barone?

  Of course.

• 21:57Benito Skinner?

And so don't, you know, I just think that's what's important.

• 22:00Mary Beth Barone?

  Wait, where are we going?

• 22:01Benito Skinner?

Who cares? Ride. So jewelry, I don't wear a ton of jewelry. I was realizing I ride for it because I find that I point it out all the time and I love looking at people's jewelry. And I'm like, fuck kid, you really fuck with this thing. So I, I will say, sometimes I'll wear my watch, which I love my watch. She's like a total doll. And I'll wear like a signet ring every now and then. I have one that has a scorpion on it. But I kind of don't venture beyond that. And sometimes I'll wear a gold chain, but not all the time. It's more like, I don't know, something about it, I just sometimes like to be naked, clear blue, transparent. Like I just, I like that, but I love jewelry on other people and I love the jewelry that people wear.

• 22:44Mary Beth Barone?

Well, you know, I mean, women with their earrings.

• 22:46Benito Skinner?

  Women with their earrings.

• 22:47Mary Beth Barone?

It's a window into the soul.

• 22:47Benito Skinner?

Jewelry earrings, and also I love men with earrings. Like I love a little.

• 22:51Mary Beth Barone?

I love men with earrings too.

• 22:53Benito Skinner?

A man with a hoop, huge for the culture.

• 22:55Mary Beth Barone?

  That's really cool.

• 22:56Benito Skinner?

I like hoop more than stud on men, but it is what it is.

• 22:59Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, I would say that's.

• 23:00Benito Skinner?

  I just think a hoop is amazing because I don't know, it's like, it's a little ahoy.

• 23:03Mary Beth Barone?

  It's very ahoy.

• 23:04Benito Skinner?

But here's my thing. Everyone's necklace, like that's just such a cool story. It's cool to hear, I think like there's something, because when I have my necklace on, I'm kind of like, is anyone going to say anything?

• 23:16Mary Beth Barone?

  Right.

• 23:16Benito Skinner?

Like I have so much to say.

• 23:17Mary Beth Barone?

  And probably they are.

• 23:18Benito Skinner?

And they might, because like, fuck it, it's like hitting my collarbone just right. Like also, I think on red carpets or like just at a sexy dinner, hell, going to the movies. Like the right jewels can completely make the look. So I'm not saying that I'm like, oh God, I don't do it because I don't like how it looks. I like how it looks, just sometimes I don't.

• 23:36Mary Beth Barone?

You're very thoughtful of the details, I would say.

• 23:38Benito Skinner?

I just love, I'm like, oh, I like a really nice little necklace or like, I love your necklace today. I know it's your dad's.

• 23:44Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 23:44Benito Skinner?

  So it's very beautiful.

• 23:46Mary Beth Barone?

Right next to the juicy zip. So I have been stacking necklaces lately. That's duality. I've been stacking necklaces. I also, I do mix silver and gold. I think that's fine. It's just a personal choice.

• 23:56Benito Skinner?

If you mix it, just commit.

• 23:57Mary Beth Barone?

  Just commit.

• 23:58Benito Skinner?

I have one, oh my God, I have this necklace and it's both. And it's just so cool because my OCD is like.

• 24:03Mary Beth Barone?

  Oh, that's fun.

• 24:04Benito Skinner?

  I have to find.

• 24:05Mary Beth Barone?

  It's bringing it all together.

• 24:06Benito Skinner?

I have one ring that has both too, that my friend Nora got me, shout out Nora. But it's really beautiful. It's like gold and then it has this like emblem of two male heads, like two Roman male heads in silver. So I can wear it just.

• 24:17Mary Beth Barone?

  With everything.

• 24:18Benito Skinner?

How about with fucking everything? And it looks great. Just wondering.

• 24:21Mary Beth Barone?

I like to stack rings too. I'm usually wearing rings. I'm usually wearing my Tiffany. I also have a tennis bracelet that Missouri sent me, which thank you so much. But right now I have.

• 24:30Benito Skinner?

That's what he was saying the whole time.

• 24:31Mary Beth Barone?

He was saying Gorgiana. And he was saying Majerly. So I have this emerald necklace. I got it Kat Bird. That's my birthstone. And then this one that has like charms, you can like build your own. So I have a skull.

• 24:41Benito Skinner?

  Baddies and Kat Bird.

• 24:42Mary Beth Barone?

  Baddies and Kat Bird.

• 24:42Benito Skinner?

  And Kat Bird.

• 24:43Mary Beth Barone?

  Kat Bird and Williamsburg.

• 24:44Benito Skinner?

  Kat Bird.

• 24:45Mary Beth Barone?

I have a skull. I have a emerald. I have a heart, a diamond and a shell for my love of the beach.

• 24:52Benito Skinner?

  Of course.

• 24:53Mary Beth Barone?

And then I have another one that I need to get a chain for, but my, my dad had these frat pins from, one from med school and one from West Virginia University. And so I put one on a necklace and I can't wait to wear both of them and just stack them up.

• 25:06Benito Skinner?

  So beautiful.

• 25:07Mary Beth Barone?

But I didn't wear any jewelry jewelry to the vacation I just went on by myself because I just felt like I didn't. I wanted the tan lines because I actually think tan lines from jewelry are very sexy.

• 25:17Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, very hot.

• 25:17Mary Beth Barone?

But I didn't feel it was worth it to be worried about things falling off in the ocean.

• 25:21Benito Skinner?

I agree. It's very, you know, the Kim, the famous Kim lost earring.

• 25:25Mary Beth Barone?

I steal jewelry from my mom all the time. I'll let her know after the fact.

• 25:29Benito Skinner?

Yeah. See, my dad's not a jewelry guy, so I don't really have anything. My grandpa had a few things, but not, they lean a little too, I'll say it, war.

• 25:36Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah, war vibes.

• 25:37Benito Skinner?

And then my, my mom though, my sister's like, oh my God, my mom's such a gold bangle girl. So I know she'll like, she'll slap one of those on me pretty soon.

• 25:44Mary Beth Barone?

My mom just taught me the appreciation for jewelry and how powerful it can be.

• 25:49Benito Skinner?

  Personalization.

• 25:50Mary Beth Barone?

Bringing outfit together. And she's very generous. She lets me, I wore her diamond studs for my special taping for thought provoking because they're just classy, you know? And she has really good taste in jewelry. So I'm lucky. I have sort of like the, I can go into the Vogue closet, which is her dressing room.

• 26:03Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 26:04Mary Beth Barone?

And if I need a little bling, as mom still call it.

• 26:07Benito Skinner?

I show, I take off my pants.

• 26:08Mary Beth Barone?

You take off your pants, which yes, of course you're welcome to do that. Just get comfortable. There's a She's Lounge in there.

• 26:13Benito Skinner?

Oh, I love when moms have that.

• 26:14Mary Beth Barone?

  Which we love.

• 26:14Benito Skinner?

That's such like, that's for gay guys. You just sit in there and hang out.

• 26:17Mary Beth Barone?

  And you just gossip.

• 26:18Benito Skinner?

Finally, we can like feel comfortable.

• 26:20Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, thankful that I was raised to love jewelry and I will wear it until my dying breath.

• 26:25Benito Skinner?

People, you know what? Some people are like, I'm not a jewelry person. I think that's why I also write for it. I'm like, don't, because for so long I was like, I don't wear jewelry, really. I don't really like how it feels.

• 26:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Well, it's gay.

• 26:34Benito Skinner?

Well, it's fucking gay. I, yeah, I don't really wear lady shit as I'm listening to Jewels and Drugs by Lady Gaga. Such, such a classic. But here's my thing. You can think maybe you're not, but just try it. Like, the water's warm and don't judge yourself and play around. Sometimes I've, you know what? I put a couple of strings on. I'm like, this one, I took it too far.

• 26:56Mary Beth Barone?

  I have done that, too.

• 26:57Benito Skinner?

Someone's put a choker on me before and I just, it wasn't, it wasn't giving what it needed to give.

• 27:02Mary Beth Barone?

I mean, the Bengal culture in high school, I was wearing 20 bracelets and they made a lot of noise.

• 27:07Benito Skinner?

You know my Build-A-Bear lives strong.

• 27:09Mary Beth Barone?

  Yeah.

• 27:09Benito Skinner?

  It was.

• 27:10Mary Beth Barone?

I would live strong among them.

• 27:11Benito Skinner?

They must have had to cut my hand off.

• 27:12Mary Beth Barone?

I had some J. Crew bangles in there. I had my Tiffany bracelet.

• 27:14Benito Skinner?

A bobble from J. Crew, a statement necklace even?

• 27:17Mary Beth Barone?

It was a lot. Oh, yes, that happened.

• 27:19Benito Skinner?

Getting to choose the statement necklaces, like the one Mattie Phillips wears in the pilot of Overcompensating. I still think about that necklace because it makes me laugh. It just, the bobbles of 2015 and 2016, like, it's just explosive. It was like Jenna Lyons and J. Crew.

• 27:33Mary Beth Barone?

I have such a good jewelry story about J. Crew jewelry.

• 27:36Benito Skinner?

  Stop, go.

• 27:37Mary Beth Barone?

Okay, so I got this necklace when I was in my brother's wedding. He got married in the Green Building in Brooklyn, which Jessa got married in in Girls, and there have been many, many weddings in that building.

• 27:46Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, fabulous.

• 27:47Mary Beth Barone?

  So.

• 27:47Benito Skinner?

  Hollowed ground.

• 27:48Mary Beth Barone?

Hollowed ground. So we got these necklaces and I wore it one night when I went out and I ended up going home with someone. But he didn't live in the city, so we were at his brother's apartment. So I took the necklace off, spent the night, left in the morning. I forgot the necklace.

• 28:01Benito Skinner?

In the morning, you were in heels, naked. You said last night, last night was a fucking movie.

• 28:05Mary Beth Barone?

  I said last night.

• 28:08Mary Beth Barone?

I slept with my shoes on.

• 28:09Benito Skinner?

Wait, leave your jewelry at a guy's place. That's so cool.

• 28:12Mary Beth Barone?

So then we ran into the brother and his fiance. And I was like, oh my God, I left my necklace at your house. And she goes, we fought about that necklace so much because he couldn't explain where it came from.

• 28:25Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 28:26Mary Beth Barone?

And she was like, you had a girl here. And he's like, I swear I didn't. I don't know where it came from.

• 28:31Benito Skinner?

  And you had the hook.

• 28:32Mary Beth Barone?

And I put, and I went, oh my. Oh my God, you guys.

• 28:37Benito Skinner?

Wait, fuck, that night was a movie.

• 28:38Mary Beth Barone?

That night was a movie. But like, what a classic mix up and a misunderstanding where it was just like, he just didn't think that the brother had like brought someone back. And then she's like, the necklace is here, so you're gonna fucking explain where the fuck it came from. And I was just like offhanded, like, oh, I left my necklace at your place. He's like a friend. We're friends with both brothers. I was thinking about how bad that fight must have been. And I said, was that your biggest fight?

• 29:01Benito Skinner?

What was your guys' biggest fight? And you go, it was for me.

• 29:04Mary Beth Barone?

For me? Interesting. And I, I, I did this on the wine glass. I just ran my finger across the top of it.

• 29:11Benito Skinner?

Here, here, here. You know what's funny? The, I'm thinking then if like what I've left at yours, and if a guy found it, and it's like, who's been here?

• 29:19Mary Beth Barone?

You're like, what is this shit?

• 29:22Benito Skinner?

  A football jersey.

• 29:23Mary Beth Barone?

  Your ivermectin.

• 29:26Benito Skinner?

  What is this, my suela?

• 29:28Mary Beth Barone?

  Curology. It says.

• 29:31Benito Skinner?

Do not, you were never supposed to say ivermectin.

• 29:34Mary Beth Barone?

  Benito's.

• 29:35Benito Skinner?

You were never supposed to say ivermectin. That is explosive.

• 29:40Mary Beth Barone?

Why? You didn't ever use it. You had it sent to my house.

• 29:42Benito Skinner?

  You just clocked my tea.

• 29:44Mary Beth Barone?

I don't even know what it is.

• 29:45Benito Skinner?

  Oh, yeah. No, it's like a, it's a dewarmer.

• 29:48Mary Beth Barone?

You never used it. It was delivered to me and unopened.

• 29:51Benito Skinner?

I'll just say it didn't, I, it didn't do much for me.

• 29:53Mary Beth Barone?

But I'm human in the medicine cabinet. What the fuck is this shit?

• 29:56Benito Skinner?

What is this? Who's been here? It's a jockstrap with a seven on it.

• 30:02Mary Beth Barone?

It's it's your Calvin Klein pride underwear.

• 30:04Benito Skinner?

Oh, have we talked about this?

• 30:06Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah, but you could talk about it again.

• 30:08Benito Skinner?

Oh, I just it's funny during pride. You just, you know, I sometimes get sent and thank you. I just appreciate the PR, but I get sent like some of the most unbelievable underwear or like things.

• 30:19Mary Beth Barone?

  Or lack thereof.

• 30:20Benito Skinner?

Yeah. One, you saw the one that was like, it was see through in the front and then it was.

• 30:26Mary Beth Barone?

  Wait, I've.

• 30:27Benito Skinner?

It had the thing and then it was bejeweled, like love is love is love is across the waistband. And I'm just like, so let me get this straight. So the vibe is see through, flaccid dick. Back is like two strings bedazzled. And then there was like almost the start of a thong. I wish I could. I mean, I don't have them anymore.

• 30:48Mary Beth Barone?

  I told you.

• 30:48Benito Skinner?

But it was the start of like a thong and it was lace. I was just like, this took a while to make.

• 30:52Mary Beth Barone?

  Materials, mixed media.

• 30:54Benito Skinner?

Oh, yeah. It was like, this looks like upcycled.

• 30:56Mary Beth Barone?

It went to it went to many factories. It went to many factories.

• 30:59Benito Skinner?

  Upcycled?

• 31:00Mary Beth Barone?

So I got a shipment from Calvin Klein when I did a pride campaign for them a couple of years ago. And I thought it was all underwear. So I put on this underwear and I go, wow, they made fully crotchless underwear.

• 31:09Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 31:10Mary Beth Barone?

It was a sports bra. I had put my legs in the holes of a sports bra. And there was a huge, and I go, my whole ass.

• 31:18Benito Skinner?

Can I just say, you thought right, because some gay underwear just kind of is that?

• 31:22Mary Beth Barone?

Well, yeah, but I was like, it's interesting to make female crotchless, totally crotch.

• 31:26Benito Skinner?

This thread is a bang. I went like that.

• 31:30Benito Skinner?

Take your life, make it art.

• 31:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Brain rot.

• 31:32Benito Skinner?

But I, oh my God, no, you're in the right. I'm just picturing.

• 31:35Mary Beth Barone?

Fully. And I'm in the mirror going, wow, this is edgy.

• 31:39Benito Skinner?

You going, spread lips, sending to Calvin going, thanks for the underwear, darling.

• 31:44Mary Beth Barone?

So here's what I would say. If you have the Calvin with the classic sort of strap at the bottom and it's a sports bra, try it on as underwear and see what if it's inspiring you.

• 31:53Benito Skinner?

I mean, I'm trying to think. So you, the arm straps went through your thighs and then it's, yeah, it would have just been full.

• 31:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Full pussy and butt.

• 31:59Benito Skinner?

  Full box out.

• 32:01Mary Beth Barone?

Yeah. Oh God, I feel like we could talk about this forever.

• 32:04Benito Skinner?

  Oh, no, I got.

• 32:05Mary Beth Barone?

  But speaking of raw sex.

• 32:06Benito Skinner?

See, that's why jewelry is so explosive. I don't know, I want to see your jewels and your drugs. Send me your jewelry collections and let's all call each other out. Let's, let's really be, let's hold our friends accountable. Put on their jewelry, have fun.

• 32:20Mary Beth Barone?

  With, with permission.

• 32:21Benito Skinner?

Yeah, and just, and actually, I'm not going to say, don't go too far. If you want to, I would never. There's this one woman on TikTok, I could never find her. There's just no way.

• 32:30Mary Beth Barone?

  Don't even try.

• 32:31Benito Skinner?

  I'll never see it again.

• 32:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Just don't even try.

• 32:32Benito Skinner?

She has so many jewels on and she like does her makeup with it and the sounds, oh electrifying.

• 32:36Mary Beth Barone?

  It's really beautiful.

• 32:37Benito Skinner?

I mean, what can be better than that?

• 32:38Mary Beth Barone?

  It's a symphony.

• 32:38Benito Skinner?

What can be better than that? I would say an IUD.

• 32:42Mary Beth Barone?

  IUD.

• 32:43Benito Skinner?

Jewelry, I mean jewelry, internal jewelry.

• 32:45Mary Beth Barone?

  It's inner jewelry.

• 32:46Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 32:46Mary Beth Barone?

  It's inner jewelry.

• 32:47Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 32:48Mary Beth Barone?

  And.

• 32:48Benito Skinner?

  And dear media.

• 32:49Mary Beth Barone?

Clip that, I think you, oh.

• 32:52Benito Skinner?

• 36:26Mary Beth Barone?

So I have an IUD right now. I have had one for several years. And look, IUDs are not without their complications. Some people get them and it doesn't work for them. They have weird side effects. There's the copper IUD, which makes you get much more intense periods. There's a low dose hormonal. I'm guessing there's a higher dose hormonal. I have a low dose hormonal, which is very hard to say. I know, I'm very, very sorry.

• 36:47Benito Skinner?

Nina Jama went, I have two up my butt.

• 36:51Mary Beth Barone?

  What that does.

• 36:52Benito Skinner?

  What that does.

• 36:53Mary Beth Barone?

So I have one, I do love my IUD. We, we fight like sisters.

• 37:00Benito Skinner?

And actually, this time I mean it. Dear media, clip that.

• 37:04Mary Beth Barone?

IUDs are so cool because it's science that's more theoretical than anything. And I do have a joke about it in my famed Cluster Fest set with the blue eyeshadow. But we don't know how they work. So much like, and I've said it before, 6.023 times 10 to the 23rd. It's more theoretical. Whatever it's doing in there, whatever it's doing in the sperm, it's mostly working because they're so effective.

• 37:27Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 37:28Mary Beth Barone?

And I would say just now more than ever, as our rights are being stripped away from us. And this actually brings me to something that I wrote in the doc, or I wrote in my notebook that I wanted to bring to the podcast. As our rights are being taken away more and more and we don't have bodily autonomy, I would say get the IUD now if you want to. If, if that's something that is on your list of doing the thing. And you can book an appointment through Zoc Docs.

• 37:48Benito Skinner?

  Yeah, of course.

• 37:49Mary Beth Barone?

  Zoc Docs.

• 37:50Benito Skinner?

  So Zoc Docs.

• 37:50Mary Beth Barone?

Zoc Doctors. I would say just do it. And it, you know, sometimes it goes up in flames and you need to get it taken out. And that's okay.

• 37:58Benito Skinner?

  Okay, yeah.

• 37:58Mary Beth Barone?

But it does work. I think they've extended it. It's more than, it's like five years now. And don't quote me on that.

• 38:03Benito Skinner?

You can have one up there for five years.

• 38:04Mary Beth Barone?

For five years, but ask your doctor. Because I'm not totally sure. Yeah, it's like a sister. I mean, we know each other well. And so she knows all my mistakes. Yeah.

• 38:13Benito Skinner?

  All sperm.

• 38:15Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 38:16Mary Beth Barone?

So I think women are put on this earth to love and to experience joy. And all we get to do is suffer.

• 38:23Benito Skinner?

Yeah. And we force you to make music. I E. Lord, who, I mean, it's what a beautiful circle today is. Lauren's IUD is visible on the cover of Virgin. I mean, that also perfect album cover. It's shocking and you see all her jewels.

• 38:38Mary Beth Barone?

And it's very much about the female experience.

• 38:41Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 38:41Mary Beth Barone?

But I just think the suffering, it makes me so sad. I mean, people are suffering all over the world and women, we just are beaten and battered physically, metaphorically, emotionally, spiritually. And it's just like, we have to do so much work on ourselves to continue to be compassionate. We are compassionate by nature, but I just feel like it's, it's actually impressive that we just as like a group have not just completely hardened our shell to the world because it's like, we're just constantly torn down. And it just makes me so sad. And there was an incident that happened to me recently that I don't want to get into the details of, but I felt very unsafe and I felt physically threatened and it was traumatizing.

• 39:22Mary Beth Barone?

And it just made me really sad to think about like, how much love women put into the world. And then we're only met, we're not only met with, you know, negativity and people trying to strip us of our rights and stuff. But it's definitely like a lot.

• 39:35Benito Skinner?

  I'd say 90/10.

• 39:36Mary Beth Barone?

It's just insane that we're not more horrible.

• 39:39Benito Skinner?

  I know.

• 39:39Mary Beth Barone?

Like, we just want to give love. It's so hard. And that's what I love about this podcast because women deserve to experience joy. And it's just like, men are allowed to be weird and men are allowed to be like, you know, quirky and whatever. And just like-

• 39:52Benito Skinner?

  Send us memes.

• 39:53Mary Beth Barone?

All day and just skate through life. God, I'm, it's so frustrating. I just want women to have fun and like, maybe getting an IUD is part of that.

• 40:02Benito Skinner?

Put on a baby tee, a grown woman in a baby tee.

• 40:05Mary Beth Barone?

  In a baby tee.

• 40:05Benito Skinner?

Yeah, I will say, it never looks fun, but I love women so goddamn much.

• 40:11Mary Beth Barone?

And we're, we're happy to have you in our corner.

• 40:13Benito Skinner?

Hey, thank you so much. I'll always be there. But, oh my God, are we getting, is this ride or die?

• 40:17Mary Beth Barone?

  Sure.

• 40:19Benito Skinner?

You know what you are, Mary Beth?

• 40:20Mary Beth Barone?

  Bisexual?

• 40:21Benito Skinner?

Well, yeah, but you're also my ride or die. Ride or die. So of course I ride for IUDs.

• 40:29Mary Beth Barone?

And I ride for the science.

• 40:30Benito Skinner?

I'd get one if I could.

• 40:31Mary Beth Barone?

I know you would. I like the science aspect of it. Basically, it wraps up everything that interests me.

• 40:36Benito Skinner?

It's very you, it's very, we don't know how planes fly.

• 40:39Mary Beth Barone?

Exactly. It's one tiny little thing that lives inside you.

• 40:41Benito Skinner?

  Whatever it is, yeah.

• 40:42Mary Beth Barone?

And so it's science, it's women's issues, it's giving us more freedom. And I would say it's making us safer and not have to do things that we don't want to do. Like have kids if we don't want that, for example.

• 40:52Benito Skinner?

Yeah, of course I ride for this for anyone who wants an IUD. Fuck yeah, hell yeah.

• 40:58Mary Beth Barone?

  Fuck it, we ball.

• 40:59Benito Skinner?

Fuck it, we ball. We ride east Valhalla. Like, that's kind of how I feel with when I'm like with my girls. Yeah, I, God, as far as what you said, I'm just gonna amplify and just say that I so many things. And what I say to you a lot via text is, I wouldn't say being a woman looks fun per se. But there of course is joy there. I'm just like, my God, the way we treat women is.

• 41:25Mary Beth Barone?

There's just so much beauty and kindness and softness.

• 41:27Benito Skinner?

  That gets just decimated.

• 41:29Mary Beth Barone?

It's met with like, you know, someone pointing a gun at us or something. So it just makes me sad. And I think what I really love lately is just being surrounded by my friends and feeling like I'm getting even more invested in their lives because I have the time now and I'm not in a relationship. And I don't know, I just want all women to be happy. And it's just sad because there's just so much trying to prevent us from doing that. Safety is like, and I'll speak on this more in the future. I'm not totally done with what I have to say on it, but just feeling safe right now is like just my number one priority. And I feel safe with you and you have nothing to prove.

• 42:06Benito Skinner?

You are safe. I'm grabbing one of your fingers, nothing to prove. And I stick my finger in my mouth and bite it and tell me, God, it's that, God, I love being a woman. You know, that sound on TikTok. And it's like, it can be really beautiful, but it's also just like, dear God, I mean, you have so many funny jokes in your stand up right now about that. I just, I think about all the time and, and I, yeah, I wish we could raise women up more. It makes me so, yeah, I'm scared. I think as we enter the writers room for season two, it's always like, I, I find that those spaces are really beautiful and sad to, you know, talk with, obviously you and Wally were both in, in the overcompensating season one room and are doing two. But yeah, just sometimes they're talking about college too. I, I find that, you know, I just feel so.

• 42:51Benito Skinner?

Sick, but then it's, there is also something of like,

• 42:54Mary Beth Barone?

  It's just so much.

• 42:54Benito Skinner?

It is so what you're saying about just like really wanting to be loved and feel safe and,

• 42:58Mary Beth Barone?

And give so much love and like allow people to like,

• 43:01Benito Skinner?

  Nonstop.

• 43:01Mary Beth Barone?

Make other people feel safe and then yet we are never made to feel safe.

• 43:04Benito Skinner?

  No.

• 43:05Mary Beth Barone?

And I'm being hyperbolic, obviously. We have safe spaces, but escape rooms are not one of them.

• 43:09Benito Skinner?

  Of course not.

• 43:10Mary Beth Barone?

And so to speak on jewelry, just briefly before we go.

• 43:13Benito Skinner?

  Please, we've been waiting.

• 43:14Mary Beth Barone?

I'm a jewelry girl and a straight man did designate me as that. So that means it really had to jump off the page.

• 43:19Benito Skinner?

Oh, like you're just, there was,

• 43:21Mary Beth Barone?

He was just like, I think of you as a jewelry girl. Yeah, as a jewelry girl.

• 43:25Benito Skinner?

  Jewelry girl.

• 43:26Mary Beth Barone?

And I love jewelry. It's expression.

• 43:28Benito Skinner?

  Yeah.

• 43:28Mary Beth Barone?

The details and it's, it's beautiful. I like the beauty in it.

• 43:32Benito Skinner?

There's so much beauty in it. You can get really creative with it too. I love when someone has one earring on and the other's not, maybe it's not even there. Fuck it.

• 43:38Mary Beth Barone?

  Maybe it's just one.

• 43:39Benito Skinner?

Fuck it, we ball. You do whatever you want.

• 43:41Mary Beth Barone?

Mm-hmm. I've been thinking about getting my nipple re-pierced recently, so we'll talk about that offline.

• 43:46Benito Skinner?

  Amazing. I think you should.

• 43:47Mary Beth Barone?

I don't know if I want to do it though.

• 43:48Benito Skinner?

I think you should. I think that's amazing. I have zero piercing, zero tattoos.

• 43:52Mary Beth Barone?

  I just have ears.

• 43:53Benito Skinner?

The world's gonna, you can paint me however you want.

• 43:56Mary Beth Barone?

And we will. We're gonna paint a bikini on you for Sports Illustrated.

• 43:59Benito Skinner?

  Oh, please.

• 44:00Mary Beth Barone?

  I don't know. I don't think you need it.

• 44:01Benito Skinner?

I don't think I need it, but I, yeah, I don't know if I, mm, no, just a necklace. Oh, wait, spin it on, I'm like trying to think of what lyric just came into my head. Maybe it might've been Tupac. Tupac Shakur.

• 44:14Mary Beth Barone?

  Tupac, we're thinking of you.

• 44:16Benito Skinner?

I am always. He's fabulous. I knew all the words to Wonder Why They Call You Bitch when I was younger, so sorry. That doesn't really go into what you were saying earlier.

• 44:23Mary Beth Barone?

Being amused is part of the beauty of life for women.

• 44:27Benito Skinner?

A place in the city, a chair in the bed.

• 44:31Mary Beth Barone?

  Do the Broadway standard.

• 44:33Benito Skinner?

A place in the city, let me see, a chair in the bed, I cover up all the mirrors, I can't see myself. Wait, let me, sometimes choruses are easier of like, what was that? Let me, actually, I think a better one would be, soap washing him off my chest, keeping it light, not oh, thinking it.

• 44:57Mary Beth Barone?

Thank you, guys. We love you.

• 44:58Benito Skinner?

Jumping from stone to stone in a riverbed, I guess. Maybe I finally know you want to be a grown woman in a baby T, a grown woman. Fade into this. Jackson faded out.

• 45:13Benito Skinner?

  Oh, my exit.

• 45:15Mary Beth Barone?

Benny, babe, eyes on the road. Benny, go!
