To watch episodes of Financial Audit a week earlier, check us out on YouTube.

• 0:03Speaker 01

  Really?

• 0:03Caleb Hammer?

What the [BEEP] is wrong with you? I think I'm done. I think I'm done.

• 0:08Speaker 01

Saying I can't be helped? I thi- I even think I can be helped.

• 0:11Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no! It's not about you can't be in hell! Making a- a- a- making a budget right now is not gonna help anything because it doesn't matter because you're not gonna be able to [BEEP]. Follow it, cut yourself.

• 0:20Speaker 01

  Yeah, I can fix that.

• 0:21Caleb Hammer?

  Stop, stop, stop! I can't. I need a longer.

• 0:25Speaker 01

Hi, I'm Vanessa. I'm 42 years old and I'm from Round Rock, Texas. This is Financial Audit.

• 0:33Caleb Hammer?

Normally, this is where I ask, "What's your job? What's your income?" But I need to call out the fact that I came in here. I sat down, we had the normal conversation. Is there anything you do not want to talk about? No, that's not what you wanted to talk about. What you wanted to talk about was you hit me with the, "Just to let you know, I don't know if this is gonna impact anything or not, you know, but my finances are worse now than they were when I sent these statements. My finances are worse." And honestly, a little stunned to hear that because how can they be worse? Because the spending on these credit cards is some of the most

• 1:13Caleb Hammer?

in- it's some of the most insane spending I've ever seen on active interest accruing credit cards ever. And then to come in s- in here and say, "My finances have gotten worse? Worse?" I didn't know that was possible. So I just wanted to call that out because the audience wasn't here for the pre-film conversation. So the fact that it's gotten worse, I'm very curious to hear. Okay, but what do you do for a living in Round Rock?

• 1:43Speaker 01

Um, I am an assistant store manager in retail.

• 1:49Caleb Hammer?

  Eh?

• 1:49Speaker 01

  At Joann Fabrics.

• 1:51Caleb Hammer?

  Eh?

• 1:52Speaker 01

  Yeah, retail.

• 1:53Caleb Hammer?

Oh, that was like an ick?

• 1:55Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:55Caleb Hammer?

Oh, okay. Oh, okay. Um, a Joanne. Yeah, you can't. That's not necessarily a bad career, a bad job or anything. There is no way you are making enough to spend the amount of money that you are spending on these cars. Cause I didn't know that. I didn't know that. I knew your spending. I didn't know that. How much you, how do you much you make? If they don't pay very well, how are you possibly spend? Okay, what do you make?

• 2:24Speaker 01

  Um, that's a good question.

• 2:26Caleb Hammer?

Is it? I would love a good answer, please. Come on. This is the easiest part of the entire conversation. Everyone struggles with it. It's a good question.

• 2:33Speaker 01

Thought I made fifty five thousand a year, but then I just kinda took a look at it this morning. And um, at twenty four seventy five an hour, roughly forty hours a week, that is definitely not.

• 2:47Caleb Hammer?

  Paid time off and everything?

• 2:49Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 2:50Caleb Hammer?

Should be fifty one thousand four hundred eighty.

• 2:52Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah.

• 2:54Caleb Hammer?

  What? It's pretty close.

• 2:56Speaker 01

  It's sad.

• 2:56Caleb Hammer?

  Well.

• 2:57Speaker 01

I'm an old lady and I make no money.

• 3:00Caleb Hammer?

No money. You, you are below the median household in Austin, close to eighty now for the median household in Austin. Median salary in Austin, you're pretty darn on it. What, um, and Round Rock is certainly cheaper than.

• 3:14Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 3:14Caleb Hammer?

  Maine, Austin.

• 3:15Speaker 01

  That is true.

• 3:16Caleb Hammer?

Median salary. Okay, well, let's find out, cause I don't think. What are you? Are you like down on yourself about this?

• 3:27Speaker 01

  Oh, yeah, definitely, definitely.

• 3:29Caleb Hammer?

Is this a single household income?

• 3:31Speaker 01

  No.

• 3:32Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then what? What? How much is the other side?

• 3:36Speaker 01

Um, how much does he make?

• 3:39Caleb Hammer?

Median individual salary in Round Rock, Texas is forty nine thousand dollars a year.

• 3:44Speaker 01

I mean, I probably could be comfortable.

• 3:48Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 3:49Speaker 01

  Content.

• 3:49Caleb Hammer?

Not with the spending that you have, and I know you haven't seen it yet. Trust me, we'll get there. I know it's a little hard when I freak out first, but I just know what's in this. Disaster. Okay. Well, okay. So you have a husband?

• 4:03Speaker 01

  No.

• 4:03Caleb Hammer?

  Or wife or?

• 4:04Speaker 01

  Boyfriend.

• 4:04Caleb Hammer?

Oh, oh, it's not a dual.

• 4:05Speaker 01

  But I live with him.

• 4:06Caleb Hammer?

  Uh, are your finances combined?

• 4:08Speaker 01

  No, they're not.

• 4:09Caleb Hammer?

Oh, this is not a dual income household. You guys just like spread, split a place to live.

• 4:13Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 4:13Caleb Hammer?

Then never mind. It doesn't matter. Um, you know, I mean, I guess for the rent part, it might matter. Uh, what does he make? Let's get context.

• 4:20Speaker 01

Um, I believe it's a hundred and ten.

• 4:22Caleb Hammer?

Yeah. If you guys got married, you'd definitely be well within and way over the median household income of Austin, Texas. So.

• 4:28Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 4:29Caleb Hammer?

How long have you guys been together?

• 4:30Speaker 01

Um, oh, wow. Uh, very bad at these things. Probably five years, six.

• 4:37Caleb Hammer?

Marriage on the horizon. That's a while to be together.

• 4:39Speaker 01

We don't talk about it. I'm not.

• 4:41Caleb Hammer?

  Never. What?

• 4:43Speaker 01

I don't know. It's just an uncomfortable conversation.

• 4:45Caleb Hammer?

Why? How's wait, how's that uncomfortable for someone that's been together five or six years?

• 4:49Speaker 01

  Um.

• 4:50Caleb Hammer?

  You'd be like, go.

• 4:50Speaker 01

I don't know if I ever want to be married and I'm not sure how he feels about it either.

• 4:55Caleb Hammer?

Oh, well, you, if you don't want to be married, then don't get married, right?

• 4:58Speaker 01

  Yeah. Yeah.

• 4:59Caleb Hammer?

Okay. What? Do you think it's gonna like summon a demon or something with that?

• 5:01Speaker 01

No, no, no. I just wouldn't. I wouldn't be helping his financial situation by saddling him with my debt. So I, I mean, the only one who would benefit from that type of situation.

• 5:11Caleb Hammer?

There's tax benefits. There's a lot of benefits. It's different than that. Also, it's just, it's just kind of the union that a lot of people see. And it also protects you guys in the case of getting a mortgage and stuff. But either way. What happens if he leaves you right now? You're also right?

• 5:25Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 5:26Caleb Hammer?

Okay. And that would be less likely. Uh huh.

• 5:30Speaker 01

  I know. It's not funny.

• 5:32Caleb Hammer?

So you make above the median salary in Austin, but you've clown on it like it's nothing.

• 5:38Speaker 01

  Yeah. I mean, it's.

• 5:40Caleb Hammer?

Did you try to summon something?

• 5:41Speaker 01

No, no, I just feel like that's true. Just from my perspective, you know, I've watched my parents work from the ground up and, and start, you know, at entry level positions.

• 5:54Caleb Hammer?

Which I assume you did. No one starts at fifty one thousand.

• 5:57Speaker 01

Yeah, but you know, they've also. made me feel like it's not good enough. So probably I've internalized that and I don't believe

• 6:06Caleb Hammer?

Is it because it's retail or is it the number?

• 6:08Speaker 01

Yeah, it's retail. It's like I haven't really utilized my

• 6:12Caleb Hammer?

I don't get it. You can make a career in a lot of different fields. I don't, you could start at the bottom McDonald's and work your way up to being a franchise owner. And I don't, you wouldn't look down upon that. If you ever worry about your personal security, keep listening. This year, we've seen some seriously massive data breaches. AT&T, nine million customers info hacked. United Healthcare, the largest ever healthcare data breach in the United States. But the most insane one, National Public Data, 2.9 billion records. That's like every American's info just sitting there for hackers to grab. Social Security numbers, full names, addresses. It's death. And you might be thinking, yeah, but that won't happen to me.

• 6:53Caleb Hammer?

That's what I thought as well, until I started using the sponsor of today's video, Aura, and I found my email and passwords were floating around on the dark web. Not fun. Aura monitors billions of data points, including the dark web, to check if your info is being sold, leaked, or used in scams. They even give real time alerts for new breaches. Plus, with a built in VPN, password manager, and the option to opt out of data brokers selling your info, Aura has you covered. And in case things go south, they've got you protected with up to $5 million in identity theft insurance. Ever since I signed up, I feel like I finally got a handle on my digital security. And trust me, you'll feel the same.

• 7:32Caleb Hammer?

You can go to aura.com/hammer to try two weeks for free. Don't wait and let Aura scan and see if your data is already out there. I really, I don't, I don't get that. That doesn't, oh, them. Who, who gives a, I mean, you might give it, but

• 7:45Speaker 01

But it's, it, to me, it's embarrassing.

• 7:47Caleb Hammer?

Why? You look like someone who rebels from their parents, though, so I'm a little confused why you care.

• 7:51Speaker 01

Yeah, but they, they're in my head. They're already Everything that they've, you know, taught me has has got me to that point where.

• 7:59Caleb Hammer?

Are they the only voices you hear in your head?

• 8:01Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 8:02Caleb Hammer?

Okay, just wanted to make sure.

• 8:03Speaker 01

  Yeah, for sure.

• 8:05Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so their opinion weighs on you a lot about this job?

• 8:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 8:09Caleb Hammer?

What do they do? What's their special little jobs?

• 8:11Speaker 01

  Um.

• 8:12Caleb Hammer?

  That are above your job?

• 8:14Speaker 01

I mean, my dad started as, um, he's done quite a few different things, but he started as just like a painter and um, worked his way up into, you know, the union and um, had a, had a really good comfy gig. And then he started his own business, so um, he's probably doing that right now. I don't know. I don't talk to him. I haven't talked to him in years.

• 8:34Caleb Hammer?

Why do we care what he thinks?

• 8:35Speaker 01

Um, cause again, he raised me.

• 8:37Caleb Hammer?

You haven't talked to him, you don't know what he thinks.

• 8:39Speaker 01

  Yeah, but.

• 8:41Caleb Hammer?

  And her?

• 8:42Speaker 01

He did push me to go to college when I didn't want to.

• 8:45Caleb Hammer?

The one that pushed you out, what about her?

• 8:47Speaker 01

Um, yeah, she, she started off in um, mortgage, the mortgage industry, and then she was working for Fannie Mae. Um, pulling in over a hundred and twenty a year, um, right before she retired.

• 9:00Caleb Hammer?

Sure, you definitely make less than that, but that's, I don't get it. I wouldn't think too much about that.

• 9:06Speaker 01

At my age, I feel like I should be doing something else.

• 9:10Caleb Hammer?

Fine, why haven't you done something else?

• 9:13Speaker 01

I've just fallen back on whatever's been offered.

• 9:17Caleb Hammer?

Aren't your hands closing around the country?

• 9:19Speaker 01

No, no, not that, not that they've told us about any closings, no. I actually work for one of the locations that pulls in a couple million a year. Um, we are a large, heavily trafficked store. So we're not going anywhere.

• 9:37Caleb Hammer?

Gosh, maybe it's because we're in a crazy election, but when I hear traffic, that is not what I.

• 9:41Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 9:41Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 9:43Speaker 01

And I've been offered my own store, but I, I'm not willing or able to relocate at this time. Um, like Midlothian, Texas.

• 9:53Caleb Hammer?

  Where is it?

• 9:54Speaker 01

Um, places that are like two and a half, three hours away.

• 9:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, that is a bit far and you wouldn't want to leave your boyfriend.

• 10:00Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 10:02Caleb Hammer?

Um, wow, the median annual income for someone in their forties and Round Rock is eighty eight thousand.

• 10:10Speaker 01

There you go. I'm not proud.

• 10:12Caleb Hammer?

Crazy. That's, that's, that's an insane number. That's a lot of money. It's okay if you're not proud. Okay, fine. Let's, let's move on from this. Let us talk about the fact that

• 10:23Caleb Hammer?

how much came in this last month?

• 10:25Speaker 01

  Oh, I don't know that.

• 10:26Caleb Hammer?

Of course. Why would we know how much money comes in from an income? How much did you make this last month? Come on. You know your salary. What came in? You're not budget. Have you never looked at an account?

• 10:38Speaker 01

  I try not to.

• 10:40Caleb Hammer?

Why? It's does the, but that, that, what? Is that funny?

• 10:45Speaker 01

  Big scary numbers.

• 10:47Caleb Hammer?

Haha. It's funny that I don't look at my account and I ruined my entire life and that's great.

• 10:51Speaker 01

I said I wasn't gonna do this. Laugh out of embarrassment, but yes.

• 10:54Caleb Hammer?

Oh, it was a cope laugh, cope laugh?

• 10:57Speaker 01

  Yeah, cope laugh.

• 10:57Caleb Hammer?

  Cope laugh's okay. I get it. I, I listen, I get it.

• 11:00Speaker 01

Let's call it a cope laugh.

• 11:01Caleb Hammer?

As long as this is not

• 11:04Caleb Hammer?

  okay, it's a cope laugh.

• 11:09Speaker 01

  Okay, you're right.

• 11:14Caleb Hammer?

  You're interesting.

• 11:15Speaker 01

  Thank you.

• 11:16Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 11:17Speaker 01

  In a good way? I don't, I don't.

• 11:19Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know. Listen, just

• 11:20Speaker 01

Better to be wanted for something.

• 11:21Caleb Hammer?

Sake. What do you think came in?

• 11:23Speaker 01

  Um.

• 11:24Caleb Hammer?

Oh, my gosh, you have a job.

• 11:27Speaker 01

Three, maybe close to three thousand dollars.

• 11:29Caleb Hammer?

See, you're not a complete moron. Don't give yourself that treatment. Three thousand one hundred sixty. You know how much comes in. You're not dumb.

• 11:39Speaker 01

  That was correct.

• 11:39Caleb Hammer?

  Don't treat yourself like

• 11:42Speaker 01

  Quick math.

• 11:44Caleb Hammer?

Yes, quick math. Three thousand one hundred comes in wonderful. How much was spent?

• 11:51Speaker 01

  Way over that. I'm sure. I'm sure. I, I don't even, again, I don't even

• 11:56Caleb Hammer?

How much was spent? Nine thousand, three times what you brought in, and you think that's even close to acceptable? It's not about, it's not about how much you make. It is not. You are not in an unsurvivable income in Round Rock, Texas. You're not. The, the Rock's not even around. And listen, you make enough money to live there. You do.

• 12:26Speaker 01

I did this to myself. Yeah.

• 12:28Caleb Hammer?

Yeah. So why? Why would you possibly spend nine thousand dollars? It's not about looking down on your job. It's not about looking down on your income. It's not about looking down on your life. It's not about not knowing how much comes in. It's about the fact that you spent three times your income and then you tell me it's actually worse now. Your financial situation has gotten worse now. So tell me, why would you possibly spend nine thousand dollars when three thousand dollars comes in?

• 12:55Speaker 01

Hmm, probably a little bit of.

• 13:00Caleb Hammer?

Really? Did you just look at the camera? I look at the camera. What are you looking at? Stop. Are you taking this serious? Hey?

• 13:05Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 13:06Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, focus up. Seriously.

• 13:08Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 13:09Caleb Hammer?

  It'll piss me off.

• 13:11Speaker 01

  I'm sorry.

• 13:12Caleb Hammer?

  Come on.

• 13:12Speaker 01

I'm pissing myself off. Um, so yeah, like, why? Why? We need to know why. Uh, do I?

• 13:20Caleb Hammer?

  An idea would be good.

• 13:22Speaker 01

Um, probably a little bit of ADHD, a little bit of.

• 13:26Caleb Hammer?

  Everyone on the show, apparently.

• 13:27Speaker 01

Yeah, a little bit of autism, maybe. I mean.

• 13:30Caleb Hammer?

Also, everyone on this show, apparently.

• 13:32Speaker 01

Mental illness thrown in there for good measure, a little bit of trauma, a little bit of.

• 13:36Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, sure. You wouldn't be a guest on this show without all that. Sure.

• 13:39Speaker 01

  All the excuses.

• 13:40Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 13:41Speaker 01

  All the reasons.

• 13:41Caleb Hammer?

And not that any of them are not real, but I'm a little sick of hearing about it four to five times a week. That's how much we film.

• 13:47Speaker 01

It's because I'm probably looking for a little bit of happiness.

• 13:51Caleb Hammer?

That is makes a bit more sense. What does life look like that we have to go three times? Our spending on happiness. What does life look like?

• 14:01Speaker 01

That's the reason I don't look at it.

• 14:03Caleb Hammer?

  What are you looking at?

• 14:04Speaker 01

  Oh, just everything.

• 14:06Caleb Hammer?

  No, you look.

• 14:09Caleb Hammer?

  Bye bye.

• 14:10Speaker 01

  Sorry.

• 14:11Caleb Hammer?

  The baba.

• 14:12Speaker 01

  I am here with you.

• 14:13Caleb Hammer?

You sure you're not like in, you didn't just go through like another portal or something?

• 14:20Speaker 01

Did a lot of disassociating today. Yeah, to get here. So I'm probably coming back to earth right now.

• 14:26Caleb Hammer?

What is? Your life like? That we need to spend three times to feel better?

• 14:32Speaker 01

  I can't say it's it's bad. It's pretty cushy. I mean, I have.

• 14:38Caleb Hammer?

Then what was that excuse? What was that excuse then?

• 14:41Speaker 01

  Just old.

• 14:43Caleb Hammer?

You're not that old. Um, okay, what?

• 14:46Speaker 01

I'm past half of my life, so that is.

• 14:49Caleb Hammer?

  That's not old resurfacing issues.

• 14:51Speaker 01

I only have so much time left.

• 14:52Caleb Hammer?

  Issues. Yes, ha, ha, ha.

• 14:54Speaker 01

  Like old traumas, like I.

• 14:56Caleb Hammer?

No, so you don't have to be past.

• 14:58Speaker 01

I gained a bunch of weight. I was wearing just sweats and T shirts and, you know, at some point, my boyfriend.

• 15:06Caleb Hammer?

  It's trauma wearing.

• 15:06Speaker 01

Mentioned that maybe I could dress up every once in a while, which spiraled me into thinking.

• 15:12Caleb Hammer?

Wait, how did that conversation go? Was it said just like that? It was said just like that. That's a pretty way to say it.

• 15:18Speaker 01

  Bruh.

• 15:18Caleb Hammer?

I'm sure we could have conversations about, hey, hey.

• 15:22Speaker 01

  He's a nice guy.

• 15:22Caleb Hammer?

Are you doing okay? Because, you know, you've been a little sloppy.

• 15:25Speaker 01

My spending habits were under control. I typically overspend, reel it back in. Take hold of the reins, get my finances in order as far as credit card debt goes. I still have student loans and crazy stuff, but. Um.

• 15:39Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 15:40Speaker 01

So I'll pay everything off and I'll be in a good place for a few months and then something happens where I just.

• 15:47Caleb Hammer?

So what then would it actually be if two excuses so far are incorrect?

• 15:52Speaker 01

So gaining a lot of weight has caused me to.

• 15:56Caleb Hammer?

  So gaining weights of trauma?

• 15:58Speaker 01

No, no, no. Um, I gained the weight during covid, the trauma being in twenty sixteen, my. Long term boyfriend of twenty years, my high school sweetheart passed away.

• 16:09Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, you guys were together?

• 16:11Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 16:11Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, I'm so sorry.

• 16:13Speaker 01

  I saw him.

• 16:14Caleb Hammer?

Wow, so that for like a decade and a half or so, yeah, two decades?

• 16:17Speaker 01

  Yeah, yeah.

• 16:18Caleb Hammer?

Wow, I'm really sorry. When did that happen?

• 16:21Speaker 01

  Twenty sixteen.

• 16:21Caleb Hammer?

Twenty sixteen, okay. Um, that's hard.

• 16:24Speaker 01

So things have been, I never grieved properly. I'm just gonna say it. I did.

• 16:28Caleb Hammer?

Hold on, but we, I know it's, listen, but a decade later, we spend like because of that, like it's.

• 16:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, well, it's been happening.

• 16:35Caleb Hammer?

  Are you just?

• 16:35Speaker 01

  It continues to.

• 16:36Caleb Hammer?

Are you trying to find a reason? Or is that?

• 16:40Speaker 01

Just bad habits. No one ever taught me about finances or the value of a dollar. So if I have a little bit of cash.

• 16:46Caleb Hammer?

When did you get with your current boyfriend?

• 16:48Speaker 01

Oh, um. Twenty twenty ish. I don't know. I'm bad. I'm bad at these things.

• 16:57Caleb Hammer?

Well, we all got fat dating COVID our to the same size. It's it's okay. It's like it happens. Uh, I get it.

• 17:04Speaker 01

Um, yeah. So just down, general being down on myself, thinking, you know, um, the instant gratification of spending a little bit of money, a lot of money.

• 17:13Caleb Hammer?

The thickness. You have already achieved the boyfriend and I can't get a girlfriend. So it's just like you already have the thing that is necessary for looking good. Uh, but not that you shouldn't have self-confidence after that. I'm not saying that. But either way, either way, either way.

• 17:31Speaker 01

  What you what?

• 17:32Caleb Hammer?

So you just beat yourself down?

• 17:33Speaker 01

  Is different.

• 17:33Caleb Hammer?

But you beat yourself down on your job. You beat yourself down on your income. You beat yourself down on your weight.

• 17:39Speaker 01

You know, you do what you can do to try and make yourself feel good.

• 17:42Caleb Hammer?

Yes, yes, absolutely. And that is spending money.

• 17:46Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 17:47Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. All self assessed.

• 17:49Speaker 01

  I don't have.

• 17:50Caleb Hammer?

Uh, self assessed. I want to know where you think you are.

• 17:53Speaker 01

  Oh, okay. I mean.

• 17:55Caleb Hammer?

Zero to 10, zero being the absolute worst, 10 being the absolute best. Where do you think you are today? Your finances, just your finances. And yours, not you and him.

• 18:03Speaker 01

  I believe I'm a zero.

• 18:06Caleb Hammer?

  That sounds reasonable.

• 18:06Speaker 01

But as a realist, try to be, um, probably more like a two.

• 18:11Caleb Hammer?

Okay. If you want your Hammer financial score, it's free link in the description below. And if you want to come on the show, CalebHammer.com slash apply. You can come here and you can summon a portal in the middle of our studio. All right. So, huh?

• 18:25Speaker 01

  That's good.

• 18:25Caleb Hammer?

Good. Yeah. Were you an extra in Agatha all along?

• 18:30Caleb Hammer?

  Capital one.

• 18:31Speaker 01

Oh, we're getting into it. Okay.

• 18:33Caleb Hammer?

I know you meant Marilyn Manson. I was told that.

• 18:35Speaker 01

Yes, several times. This was just the most recent time that I didn't have money to spend on meet and greet tickets.

• 18:41Caleb Hammer?

Oh, how much is a meet and greet with Marilyn Manson?

• 18:44Speaker 01

  Five hundo.

• 18:45Caleb Hammer?

Oh, wow. He's fell off. Okay. Uh.

• 18:49Speaker 01

He did. It was his comeback tour.

• 18:52Caleb Hammer?

  Did he come back?

• 18:53Speaker 01

Yeah, he's sober now. He's looking good, feeling good. So gotta give him props for that.

• 19:01Caleb Hammer?

Sure. Six thousand four hundred seventy six dollars and forty cents on a Capital One card with a one hundred eighty two dollar minimum monthly payment. The crazy thing here and what I was talking about at the beginning is, I mean, we already know you spent three times what you brought in. Obviously that is going to be reflected on these cards. Thing is, the majority that actually went towards the card were from credits from returns, but payments four hundred thirty. Okay, all right, we paid more than the minimum. Doesn't matter. We spent five thousand six hundred seventy four dollars and thirty three cents. How possibly when we are accruing, wait.

• 19:40Caleb Hammer?

Wait, actually, how possibly? Like legitimately, how possibly? Because that is, again, New Balance six thousand four hundred seventy five. You have a credit limit of five thousand.

• 19:50Speaker 01

Yeah, why do they keep letting me charge?

• 19:52Caleb Hammer?

Probably so they can eventually just absolutely destroy you with credit and fees.

• 19:57Speaker 01

I'm gonna, I'm gonna pay it off. I just.

• 19:59Caleb Hammer?

What do you mean you're gonna pay it off?

• 20:02Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you would probably struggle if you spent the amount of money plus more than there is on a credit limit. No, you'd be struggling. If you're gonna pay it off, why didn't you pay it off? You don't make this much money. You don't make this much money on a monthly basis to pay this off. What are you talking about? That doesn't make any sense. You'd have to put all of your money of two months earnings, no expenses anywhere else. And I know you have expenses to pay this off. So what do you mean I'm just gonna pay this off like it's so nonchalant? I'm struggling. What do you mean you're struggling? Yeah, you spent the credit limit. You spent double what you make in a month on a single card.

• 20:40Speaker 01

I mean, I've done it before. I just don't really know.

• 20:42Caleb Hammer?

Doesn't matter if this is how we are today.

• 20:44Speaker 01

Yeah. And it continues to happen. So like even if I were to come into some money and just pay it off, I'd probably go right back to those old habits, which is disgusting. I know. I know.

• 21:02Caleb Hammer?

  If you know.

• 23:31Speaker 01

Probably six months, six months of suffering, six months.

• 23:36Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you'd be sixty five when it's paid off.

• 23:39Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 23:40Caleb Hammer?

  Twenty three years.

• 23:40Speaker 01

See, I don't understand how money works.

• 23:44Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh, then you really can't have access to a credit card.

• 23:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 23:48Caleb Hammer?

  You really can't.

• 23:49Speaker 01

  Time to cut them up.

• 23:51Caleb Hammer?

You can use a card like the FIS card, it's a dab, it acts like a debit card, but it builds credit like a credit card. You can do that, you cannot have access to all this unlimited money, you can't, you can only spend what's in your account. And then you just can't spend anymore, turn off overdrafts, you just can't. That is all you can handle, you have no ability to manage this. Now, don't get me wrong, we are going to give you the education, we're going to give you the tools for free, you're going to go through the debt class. So you know how to pay off debt in the most effective way, how to manage that and how to actually utilize that in a beneficial way. You're going to go through our budgeting program, so you can take all the quizzes, learn how to budget, learn how to look at your stuff, plug it into a budget, actually build it and manage it and stick to it and be disciplined on a monthly basis.

• 24:34Caleb Hammer?

You'll go through our investing program, you'll go through that, so when you are ready for that investing part of the conversation, you will invest adequately for what your investing profile is based on your life. You're going to go through it, go through all the quizzes, go through everything, join the community, talk to people, go through all that, you get it for free by being a guest. Okay, go through it and take the education seriously so you can actually change your life.

• 24:57Speaker 01

Yeah, I think I'm, I'm missing that community, I'm missing accountability.

• 25:01Caleb Hammer?

The past, past guest Discord community as well. This is huge for Financial Audit, for a year now, my team and I have worked with experts to create what I truly believe are the three best educational programs in the financial space online. We have our budgeting program where I teach you how to create, manage and revolutionize your budget and control your money. And just like over 10,000 people who've already taken our educational programs, you can now take advantage of all three of them bundled together at a 25% discount. I've heard from thousands of people now who've taken these classes and they've literally changed their lives for the better. And finally, you can too at a more affordable price. Head to Calebhammer.com or click the link in the description below. You will not regret this.

• 26:10Speaker 01

The credit card company is not even holding me accountable. They're just like, oh, you want more?

• 26:13Caleb Hammer?

They're making money off of you. No, they're a business. If you want all three of our educational programs, you definitely should take advantage of them. They're all bundled together 25% off. Link in the description below. Okay, so the spending on here, that's what people must be asking. How did she possibly do it? Free people. Just tell me about free people. Just, just please just tell me about free people.

• 26:38Speaker 01

So embarrassing. So that's my latest hyper fixation. Like I just want to eat the same meal for three weeks at a time. I want to shop at the same place for a month at a time. Yeah.

• 26:48Caleb Hammer?

Are we seeing someone to address this issue that if we get hyper fixation without any good coping mechanisms? If we're not seeing anyone, then we've just given up and you're accepting it.

• 26:59Speaker 01

  That is eye opening.

• 27:02Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 27:03Speaker 01

It's a good question because literally I stopped taking my medication recently. So I'm, now I'm wondering if it's connected.

• 27:12Caleb Hammer?

  Why?

• 27:13Speaker 01

Because it's expensive to see this doctor and the medication.

• 27:17Caleb Hammer?

You could probably get it via telehealth. What's your insurance? And is it more expensive than spending $5,000 on free people? Uh huh. So what's your insurance situation?

• 27:29Speaker 01

Um, it comes out of my paycheck every two weeks.

• 27:33Caleb Hammer?

What's your co-pay to go to the doctor?

• 27:35Speaker 01

  $6,000.

• 27:37Caleb Hammer?

That's not your co-pay. That must be your deductible.

• 27:39Speaker 01

Oh, deductible. Yes. Words. Yeah. Co-pay. Co-pay is what is taken out of my paycheck every month, right? Oh, I don't know. I really don't know.

• 27:52Caleb Hammer?

  Okay. Okay.

• 27:55Speaker 01

  Co-pay.

• 27:55Caleb Hammer?

Do you have your insurance card on you?

• 27:57Speaker 01

  Um, yes.

• 27:59Caleb Hammer?

Give it to me. I might be able to tell you.

• 28:01Speaker 01

  In the other room.

• 28:02Caleb Hammer?

  You can go get it.

• 28:03Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 28:07Caleb Hammer?

Guys, just a little spoiler. Look at this free people spending. Every line on there is basically a free people spend.

• 28:18Caleb Hammer?

  Alright, let me see.

• 28:24Caleb Hammer?

  Okay, first of all, in-network, go somewhere in-network, it's $2,000 a year.

• 28:29Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 28:30Caleb Hammer?

  You kidding me? Come on.

• 28:31Speaker 01

It was just pissing me off spending. Let's, let's not say it's super expensive or not affordable. Let's just say it was pissing me off spending that money to see a doctor and the hoops that you have to jump through in order to get your medication.

• 28:45Caleb Hammer?

  What? You mean getting diagnosed?

• 28:48Speaker 01

Did that. You have to get an EKG, you have to do drug tests, you have to pay out of pocket for that.

• 28:57Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, probably to see that you're not interacting with things so that you're not around and that's what's actually causing your issues.

• 29:01Speaker 01

  But I'm not a criminal.

• 29:03Caleb Hammer?

  Very reasonable. They wouldn't know.

• 29:06Speaker 01

Yeah, but I feel like you shouldn't be treating me like a criminal to get, to get my life-saving medication. I should be able to get it without having to jump through.

• 29:17Caleb Hammer?

You look like you sit in a circle of knives every night before you go to bed. I would, I would do a test too.

• 29:22Speaker 01

  You would test me?

• 29:23Caleb Hammer?

That was a joke, by the way.

• 29:25Speaker 01

  I've passed all of them.

• 29:26Caleb Hammer?

I already have for consent to make fun of her and make jokes. Don't be little pearl clutches. Children.

• 29:32Caleb Hammer?

Here, I don't want them to see your names.

• 29:33Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 29:37Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 29:38Speaker 01

You saw that on the card? It's got that info on there?

• 29:41Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know, I'm just being safe.

• 29:43Speaker 01

No, no, no, you saw the deductible stuff.

• 29:47Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 29:48Speaker 01

  I should know that.

• 29:51Caleb Hammer?

Oh, you've been in adulthood way too long to not know things. I'm sorry. Like, that's just a simple reality. Health insurance, that's very basic. Very basic. It's literally just there, or you can ask someone at the front desk. Either way, the hoops you have to jump through, making sure that your heart is interacting with it well through an EKG, making sure you're not in any kind of drugs, this seems, uh, pretty okay to me. ADHD, what, what, what is it? Well, like, uh...

• 30:17Caleb Hammer?

You know, the addictive substance, right?

• 30:20Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 30:21Caleb Hammer?

Right? That people can often abuse and turn into other substances. You know, they can not not turn into, but they they often go to crystal variations.

• 30:31Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 30:32Caleb Hammer?

  Or powdery variations.

• 30:34Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 30:34Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh. I would drug test you too. That's probably just basic safety. Those are the hoops you have to go through and also $2,000 and then they cover 80% of every expense after that.

• 30:45Speaker 01

  In network. Yep.

• 30:47Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh. Which you can find. You live in the awesome metropolitan area. You can find in network. This is not difficult.

• 30:54Speaker 01

  Like a lot of work.

• 30:55Caleb Hammer?

A child. You are a literal baby.

• 30:59Speaker 01

  Totally.

• 31:00Caleb Hammer?

Come on, like legitimately. Sounds like too much work. What do you mean? You call. Do you have a phone? There it is. Google, call. This is easy. It's probably on the website. Are you serious? You know what? You're right. It's too much work to spend 10, 15 minutes. So suffer for the rest of your life. If that's if it's too much work, so you've just given up on your life, then fine. Conversation done. That's what you've chosen. You're done. You've given up. You've concluded. Life has ended.

• 31:27Speaker 01

  No.

• 31:28Caleb Hammer?

Then do something. Act like an adult that lives in this world. Are you serious? I don't know how to deal with that.

• 31:35Speaker 01

  That could be what happened.

• 31:37Caleb Hammer?

Yes, because you stopped your medication without doctors.

• 31:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 31:41Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, without being.

• 31:41Speaker 01

  I thought I knew better.

• 31:44Caleb Hammer?

One, you don't just quit medications without talking to a doctor. This is this is basic.

• 31:49Speaker 01

  I guess I need it. I guess it's true.

• 31:52Caleb Hammer?

Or you or you potentially wane, or you potentially get on something else, or you potentially see a therapist on a weekly basis. So you develop better coping mechanisms around this. This is simple stuff.

• 32:02Speaker 01

  Is it?

• 32:04Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 32:05Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 32:06Caleb Hammer?

  Are you?

• 32:06Speaker 01

  Seems like a mountain.

• 32:10Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay. Which, okay, fine. It might feel like that. It might be daunting because you haven't looked at that. Okay. Let me, um, uh, let me respect that and from there, then maybe we just take baby steps. Go just, uh, look at therapists in my area. See if you can find anyone that works within, you know, accepts uh, insurance. Some don't, some do. And just figure that out. Maybe start seeing someone. Okay?

• 32:37Speaker 01

  Yes, sir.

• 32:38Caleb Hammer?

  Maybe start there.

• 32:41Speaker 01

I'm trying to get in the into the whole southern thing, you know, like

• 32:45Caleb Hammer?

  I don't like it.

• 32:46Speaker 01

Very polite. Everyone's been very polite.

• 32:49Caleb Hammer?

Good. Yeah, it's a pleasant city. Free people, free people, free people, free people, free people, free people, free people. That's this one page. That was thirty two dollars, one hundred thirty eight dollars, three hundred twenty dollars, two hundred twelve dollars, one hundred thirty eight dollars, one hundred six dollars, one hundred thirty eight dollars. Then we actually switched up and went to Ross. Then all of these free people, let's say two hundred eighty one dollars. Oh, you sure did. And then a hundred sixty dollars, a hundred eight dollars, a hundred six dollars, twelve dollars, three hundred dollars, two hundred ninety dollars. Four hundred thirty nine dollars, three hundred twenty two. This is insane. You know that? Also, we got a hotel thing, something at Homewood Suites.

• 33:24Speaker 01

Yes, hadn't gone on vacation in many years, moved down here, planned a vacation with the boyfriend. We

• 33:29Caleb Hammer?

  If he pays for it.

• 33:30Speaker 01

Well, I covered the hotel cost. Everything else was covered. Yeah.

• 33:38Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you don't have any money, so I don't care. No, you didn't.

• 33:41Speaker 01

  No?

• 33:42Caleb Hammer?

  No.

• 33:42Speaker 01

  Feel I feel like

• 33:44Caleb Hammer?

Give the vacation a happy ending. I promise he'll be good. They'll be good enough for him. Four hundred thirty two. You? He's your boyfriend. I don't care what you guys do. I was making a joke, but saying you about looking at your

• 33:55Speaker 01

  No, I

• 33:55Caleb Hammer?

  picturing your boyfriend naked.

• 33:57Speaker 01

  Hey, Liv.

• 33:58Caleb Hammer?

I'm a naughty little boy. I'm a gooner. Trust me. I mean, you you don't subscribe to the post show, do you?

• 34:03Speaker 01

I don't think I know what that is.

• 34:04Caleb Hammer?

Good. You don't subscribe to the post show, do you?

• 34:06Speaker 01

  No.

• 34:07Caleb Hammer?

Good, because you don't, because you don't have the money. But if you saw what we were like behind the paywall, it is a rowdy mess of just naughtiness and insanity.

• 34:16Speaker 01

Let me just adjust my panties.

• 34:17Caleb Hammer?

  The live stream.

• 34:23Caleb Hammer?

Sake. Oh, my gosh. So I don't need to know this.

• 34:26Speaker 01

At least I'm not spending money on that.

• 34:29Caleb Hammer?

Spend money on that. If you don't have any, spend money on that. Are you kidding me? Okay, what were you buying? Because I've only gone through half of this.

• 34:38Speaker 01

  Close.

• 34:39Caleb Hammer?

  And there were hundreds of

• 34:41Speaker 01

  Clothes I don't need.

• 34:43Caleb Hammer?

Tell me, for fuck's sake, I'm losing effort right now into this conversation. Especially after that disgusting bit for a second. What, what were you buying for fuck's sakes, please?

• 34:55Speaker 01

  Shoes and clothes and bags.

• 34:58Caleb Hammer?

Shoes and clothes and bags, what kind of clothes? What kind of bags? What kind of shoes? What are we getting? I'm just trying to understand what the fuck you're doing.

• 35:05Speaker 01

  I was trying to.

• 35:07Caleb Hammer?

Is this cause the baggy pants things?

• 35:09Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 35:10Caleb Hammer?

What, what is this? What? What?

• 35:11Speaker 01

Update my wardrobe, feel, get a little bit of confidence in myself.

• 35:15Caleb Hammer?

Well, okay, that's not a bad dream.

• 35:17Speaker 01

  Dresses, it's mostly dresses.

• 35:18Caleb Hammer?

That's not a bad thing. That doesn't mean we do five thousand dollars out of the gate, though.

• 35:22Speaker 01

Well, every item from Free People is like a hundred and fifty plus dollars.

• 35:27Caleb Hammer?

Maybe we're not going to Free People. That was your choice to go to Free People specifically. I've never even heard of it. Huh?

• 35:34Speaker 01

It's Free People right now and at one time.

• 35:37Caleb Hammer?

  Therapy, therapy!

• 35:39Speaker 01

  Ugh.

• 35:40Caleb Hammer?

I get hyperfixations too. I do. Usually it's meal related things, which is why this gets created.

• 35:47Speaker 01

Oh, I just eat the same thing over and over again.

• 35:49Caleb Hammer?

Oh, yeah, but guess what, uh, therapist?

• 35:52Speaker 01

Yeah. Well, it all stemmed from a comment that my lovely boyfriend made that probably, he's not even to blame.

• 36:00Caleb Hammer?

  Okay.

• 36:00Speaker 01

But, you know, he said, you look pretty in a dress. I'd love to see you in a dress. Why don't you ever wear a fucking dress? And then I bought fifty dresses.

• 36:10Caleb Hammer?

And you said gross when we talked about him having clothes off, so.

• 36:13Speaker 01

Yeah. Well, just cause we don't know each other like that. I didn't know we were gonna be talking about that.

• 36:19Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh, so.

• 36:22Caleb Hammer?

So because he said that, you hyperfixated on Free People?

• 36:25Speaker 01

Yeah, cause I was trying to find myself, like my style, like what is my personal style? And I.

• 36:30Caleb Hammer?

  Do you have friends here?

• 36:31Speaker 01

  No.

• 36:32Caleb Hammer?

Um, go with, did you go with him?

• 36:36Speaker 01

He's come with me to return stuff.

• 36:38Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, we saw some returns, but it doesn't even come close.

• 36:41Speaker 01

I return so that I can buy more, that's insane.

• 36:45Caleb Hammer?

How many different individual pieces of clothing did you? Well, you said it's like a hundred fifty dollars a thing, right?

• 36:49Speaker 01

  Yeah, let's break it.

• 36:51Caleb Hammer?

  Just on average.

• 36:52Speaker 01

A whole closet full of shit that I don't wear.

• 36:55Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh, why don't you wear?

• 36:57Speaker 01

Cause I'm more of a collector.

• 36:59Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, thirty-six, okay.

• 37:03Speaker 01

  Thirty-six pieces?

• 37:04Caleb Hammer?

  Probably.

• 37:05Speaker 01

So, looking for stuff on sale, though, it's probably closer to fifty. Does that make anything better?

• 37:11Caleb Hammer?

Is that free people? You're wearing free people right now?

• 37:13Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 37:14Caleb Hammer?

Okay, why free people? How do you get fixated on that specifically?

• 37:17Speaker 01

Cause I'd like to think that I'm boho chic.

• 37:20Caleb Hammer?

I don't know what that means.

• 37:21Speaker 01

But, my boyfriend says it's more like hobo. He thinks I dress like a homeless person.

• 37:26Caleb Hammer?

I'm sure that'd be a funny joke if I knew what the first part meant.

• 37:29Speaker 01

  I'm gonna design a bindle.

• 37:31Caleb Hammer?

I don't know what these words are!

• 37:33Speaker 01

  It's what hobos carry. It's a stick with a bag. A bindle.

• 37:38Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I thought the sticks that you had were like wands to cast spells on people.

• 37:42Speaker 01

No, I'm not into that sort of thing.

• 37:44Caleb Hammer?

Four hundred thirty-nine dollars, and then three hundred twenty-two dollars, a hundred sixty dollars, a hundred thirty-eight dollars, nine dollars and seventy-four cents, two hundred sixteen dollars, seventy-five dollars, three hundred nine dollars, two hundred twenty-seven dollars, three hundred dollars, and one hundred nineteen dollars, a hundred sixty dollars, three hundred dollars, a hundred and eighty-two dollars, seventy-five dollars. That's insane.

• 38:55Speaker 01

  I don't look at it.

• 38:56Caleb Hammer?

You go there every day? Like, what is this?

• 38:59Speaker 01

Yeah, like the the packages, the packages just keep coming and then it's like, ooh.

• 39:04Caleb Hammer?

Oh, oh, oh, it's webs, you're ordering online?

• 39:07Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:07Caleb Hammer?

  So you're not even trying?

• 39:09Speaker 01

No, and that is another problem too. Not that it's an excuse, but you, you don't know if it's gonna work until you actually get it, and then...

• 39:16Caleb Hammer?

There's probably free people in Austin, right?

• 39:19Speaker 01

  Um, at the domain, yeah.

• 39:20Caleb Hammer?

There you go. Close to Round Rock.

• 39:23Speaker 01

But then I'd be there in person and they would see me. Doing the bad things that I do with my credit card. It's bad enough when I go to return and they know me by name and they're like, oh, it's the girl who's like returning all her.

• 39:38Caleb Hammer?

Listen, this is sounds more like a hyper fixation. That is you just going and literally taking a little bit of responsibility by going to a therapist.

• 39:47Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 39:47Caleb Hammer?

And working on coping mechanisms. Kay?

• 39:51Speaker 01

  Yeah. Okay.

• 39:54Caleb Hammer?

We have adults have a little discipline and self-control for sake.

• 39:58Speaker 01

Oh, God. Yeah, being an adult is hard.

• 40:03Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh. Yeah, try to be funny. That's great. And that's so that's adequate for this conversation. That's this is the place where you should definitely make light of your situation where you're literally destroying your entire life. Good job.

• 40:12Speaker 01

If I don't laugh about it, I will cry.

• 40:15Caleb Hammer?

  Maybe you need to.

• 40:17Speaker 01

No, cuz once that starts happening, I might not stop.

• 40:21Caleb Hammer?

No, I'm not saying I want you to cry, but just like making a joke out of it. This is not a joke. This is not.

• 40:27Speaker 01

  It's not.

• 40:28Caleb Hammer?

You're making your life a joke.

• 40:29Speaker 01

  I'm like.

• 40:30Caleb Hammer?

The way you're treating yourself and your spending.

• 40:32Speaker 01

  Working if I don't.

• 40:33Caleb Hammer?

Yeah. How much you have in retirement today?

• 40:35Speaker 01

  I don't know. Like, that's a 401k, right?

• 40:38Caleb Hammer?

It can be. That's a retirement vehicle.

• 40:40Speaker 01

There's probably a thousand dollars in there. I have no clue. I have no.

• 40:44Caleb Hammer?

Okay, then your life is a literal joke financially speaking.

• 40:47Speaker 01

Okay, we can agree on that. Yeah.

• 40:50Caleb Hammer?

You shouldn't be laughing about that.

• 40:52Speaker 01

  No, it's.

• 40:53Caleb Hammer?

And we're making light of it cuz it's real. This is actually impacting you. You're gonna have kids with this man?

• 40:58Speaker 01

  No.

• 40:59Caleb Hammer?

  Oh.

• 41:00Speaker 01

No, I don't wanna pass this on to somebody else. This, whatever's happening up here.

• 41:06Caleb Hammer?

  Thank you.

• 41:07Speaker 01

That I need the therapy for.

• 41:09Caleb Hammer?

  I perfect it. That's just.

• 41:10Speaker 01

  The medication, the whatever.

• 41:12Caleb Hammer?

Dude, ADHD is not like the craziest thing in the world. It's not like you you're acting like you have like you'd pass on like a crazy rare form of cancer or something. This is.

• 41:21Speaker 01

It is devastating. It is. It is.

• 41:23Caleb Hammer?

With the way you do it.

• 41:25Speaker 01

  The way I do.

• 41:26Caleb Hammer?

You're not seeking any help. You're not. You're not allowing yourself to do anything.

• 41:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 41:33Caleb Hammer?

Untreated anything is bad. It's you literally your choice at this moment, so it's harder for me to have.

• 41:40Speaker 01

It is. So thanks for giving me more fuel to hate myself. Like, no, you're right. You're right. You're right. It's, um.

• 41:49Speaker 01

It seems like such a simple thing to fix.

• 41:53Caleb Hammer?

  No, I'm not saying that.

• 41:54Speaker 01

  But it's a lifelong.

• 41:55Caleb Hammer?

No, I'm not saying it's a simple thing to fix. I'm saying the steps you can take are relatively simple to at least start managing. You're honestly, let's be honest, the way you you you talk about this, the language you use, you're using it more as an excuse and a crutch instead of an actual problem in your life.

• 42:10Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 42:11Caleb Hammer?

Let's be very honest. And everyone tries to sign my show when they get a little pushback, a little pushback immediately. Oh, it's a mental health thing. Everyone needs to have a mental health Olympics on terms of who has the words mental health. And eventually what becomes hard on that is I don't actually know who does at this point. Cause who can I trust? I don't know. It's the victim Olympics. It's the mental health Olympics. I don't know. And I do believe you have this and I believe you have this actual issue. But congratulations, you not taking a single step or take getting off medications without even talking to a doctor first is stupid and your choice and that's being a dumb child. You don't even know how how to look at a health insurance card. So it's just like I

• 42:52Caleb Hammer?

$3,067 on the Quicksilver card with a $104 minimum monthly payment, $74 of interest accruing. Does that matter? Cause $1,460 was spent. We're at the credit limit. Who would have thought? This takes 17 years to pay off minimum monthly payments, no more spending.

• 43:09Speaker 01

  I hope that's a joke.

• 43:11Caleb Hammer?

Also, millions of people have ADHD. Doesn't mean millions of people live like this.

• 43:18Speaker 01

Yeah. I live like this, yeah.

• 43:24Speaker 01

It's, I'm ready for a change. This is, I can't live like this anymore.

• 43:29Caleb Hammer?

  Are you, are you?

• 43:30Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 43:30Caleb Hammer?

Based on this, based on how you act, I don't know. Why do you want to change? How about that? Give me a why. Give me a why.

• 43:39Speaker 01

Cause I want to be happy.

• 43:42Caleb Hammer?

What's gonna make you happier about this change?

• 43:44Speaker 01

Not struggling financially all the time.

• 43:47Caleb Hammer?

Uh huh. Cause it adds stress in your life? So the being less stressful that'll make you happy is what you're suggesting.

• 43:53Speaker 01

  Yeah. A horse.

• 43:57Caleb Hammer?

  Huh?

• 43:57Speaker 01

I would like to possibly own a horse one day.

• 44:01Caleb Hammer?

  And that's real?

• 44:02Speaker 01

Yeah, yeah, I I've always wanted to live on a farm or maybe like dig a little hole in the ground for myself, you know, away from people.

• 44:11Caleb Hammer?

Oh, my gosh. Okay, listen, we went from something so realistic to just dreaming. It's not that a horse isn't realistic.

• 44:19Speaker 01

I'd like to move to the mountains. Yeah.

• 44:21Caleb Hammer?

You're not willing to move three hours for a better job?

• 44:24Speaker 01

No, um, but I am willing to try and change career paths or do something different, maybe hone my skills. To make money off of that.

• 44:36Caleb Hammer?

I get that. And we're and we're gonna have you, just like every guest, go through course careers free. Uh, uh, mini course so that it aligns with what course you should actually take to get what certification you should get for a better career. We can do that. We'll give that to you. Okay?

• 44:52Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 44:52Caleb Hammer?

And everyone should go through that, looking to change careers or update their resume. And that's great, but that's not, that does not get back to my main part of my question. I'm trying to figure out what would make you happier getting out of this. You immediately, you were realistic about saying, I'll be happier because there's less stress. And then you said to get a horse. And you lost me there. I'm talking about just getting out of this. What will actually bring happiness by you changing this around? I want to know.

• 45:17Speaker 01

I think like actually getting the help that you've suggested, um, changing my behaviors for the better and

• 45:23Caleb Hammer?

But why? Give me a why, not an action.

• 45:27Speaker 01

This is my rock bottom. I can't get any lower. I need to fix it. I know this is a problem.

• 45:33Caleb Hammer?

Understand my question. Maybe I'm not phrasing this correct.

• 45:35Speaker 01

  Okay, maybe.

• 45:36Caleb Hammer?

Um, you're giving me the action that you need to do. But why make the sacrifice and everything? What is the point? How is it gonna benefit your life in your view?

• 45:46Speaker 01

Oh, um, again, not having any children, not having any family around. It would be nice to have a retirement plan, something where I know I'm not gonna work.

• 45:57Caleb Hammer?

What are the kids and family?

• 45:59Speaker 01

Well, because I have nobody, nobody for support, nobody to look after me.

• 46:02Caleb Hammer?

Do you have parents? Well, we know you don't talk to your dad, what about your mom?

• 46:06Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 46:07Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, what do you talk to your mom?

• 46:09Speaker 01

She's in, she's, yeah, I talked to her, yeah.

• 46:12Caleb Hammer?

  Where is she?

• 46:13Speaker 01

  In Arizona. She just retired.

• 46:15Caleb Hammer?

  And she went to Arizona?

• 46:16Speaker 01

  Good for her, yeah.

• 46:17Caleb Hammer?

Okay, do you wanna go near her?

• 46:19Speaker 01

  No.

• 46:21Caleb Hammer?

Do you wanna convince her to come near you?

• 46:22Speaker 01

  No.

• 46:23Caleb Hammer?

Why? Okay, so you don't want to have. And I don't wanna.

• 46:29Speaker 01

I know I'm in this alone. I'm on my own.

• 46:33Caleb Hammer?

You have a boyfriend of six years. And you guys might get married except you hate marriage, but so you might not, but either way, you guys are together. You think he's gonna be your life partner?

• 46:43Speaker 01

Oh, my gosh, I don't know.

• 46:45Caleb Hammer?

Child, oh my. Oh, my, what am I dealing with? Oh, where did we?

• 46:51Speaker 01

  That's a tough question.

• 46:52Caleb Hammer?

Where did we find you on the? What?

• 46:55Speaker 01

I don't think about these things.

• 46:58Speaker 01

So I don't have, I don't have an answer for that.

• 47:01Caleb Hammer?

What cauldron did we pull you out of? I, I don't know, I don't.

• 47:08Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so we, to be clear, we don't have an answer, other than you just wanna be able to retire?

• 47:14Speaker 01

I don't wanna rely on him. I don't wanna get married to him for money and then hope. Hope that things work out. I, I would like to own my own property. One day. At this rate, there's no way in hell I'll ever be able to buy a house.

• 47:30Caleb Hammer?

Yes, at, when you spend three times your income on clothes, no.

• 47:35Speaker 01

So I wanna get my act together.

• 47:37Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so a house is a goal? House is a goal?

• 47:40Speaker 01

  Yeah, some land. Some animals.

• 47:45Speaker 01

  Doesn't that sound like fun?

• 47:46Caleb Hammer?

  You're gonna sacrifice them?

• 47:47Speaker 01

  No.

• 47:49Caleb Hammer?

Okay, on here, beaches, restaurant, beaches, restaurant. Hilton, oh, yeah, yeah. H event merchandise, doghouse, great. No, that is not animals, that is hot dogs and brats. Jeans, peach shack, Hilton hotels, and eBay. You're getting on eBay.

• 48:08Speaker 01

  More free people.

• 48:10Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, my.

• 48:12Speaker 01

  Same with Poshmark. Yeah.

• 48:14Caleb Hammer?

We can turn on the AC, you want us to turn on the AC?

• 48:16Speaker 01

  Yeah, I love it.

• 48:17Caleb Hammer?

I don't want you to the bus.

• 48:20Speaker 01

  Thank you.

• 48:22Caleb Hammer?

I don't know what kind of spawn would come from that. Taco Deli, Gracie Farms, Velvet Taco, BJ's Restaurant, more eBay, eBay, eBay. Those three Ebays were also?

• 48:32Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 48:33Caleb Hammer?

Did you get their entire like fall line?

• 48:37Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 48:38Caleb Hammer?

  That's crazy dude.

• 48:39Speaker 01

I know it better than the employees.

• 48:41Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh. I also get-

• 48:44Speaker 01

  I should work there.

• 48:45Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no. I legitimately get hyper fixated on things when I uh-

• 48:48Speaker 01

  Or maybe I shouldn't-

• 48:49Caleb Hammer?

It is my favorite. It's everyone's favorite thing when I say I have a Tesla.

• 48:54Caleb Hammer?

But when I went to go get my Tesla, I was hyper fixated for like three months leading up to it.

• 48:59Speaker 01

Um- Good. It sounds like you did your research.

• 49:01Caleb Hammer?

Yes, but that doesn't, but I ended up making a keen and educated choice in the end and being smart and doing something I could afford.

• 49:08Speaker 01

  No education. No-

• 49:10Caleb Hammer?

But I'm just saying you can be a hyper fixated without being a dumb at the same time. You still made the choices and actions in your hyper fixation.

• 49:19Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 49:21Caleb Hammer?

It's a twenty-nine percent. Great. Alright, freedom card.

• 49:25Speaker 01

  Just open that.

• 49:28Caleb Hammer?

Freedom and I'm glad you have freedom because back, you know, back in the day, we would drown people like you. Four thousand eight hundred seventy-one dollars and ninety-six cents.

• 49:42Caleb Hammer?

Seventy dollars and ninety cents. Okay, that one. Again, we're doing it again. Oh, it's interest free. Not that I think that even matters to you because I'm sure you can hold a balance until the interest is up.

• 49:56Speaker 01

No, no, that is not the plan. I have to-

• 49:59Caleb Hammer?

It's not the plan. What plan do you have? Look at the other cards. You've maxed them all out. Let me see. Let me see. Let me see. Oh, good. This one's maxed out. Great. It's right there by like a hundred bucks. Hun- one thousand eight hundred-

• 50:11Speaker 01

  Open that. Like-

• 50:13Caleb Hammer?

I literally just opened that and then I maxed it out and then I spent one thousand eight hundred eight dollars on it. Come on. Talking about seventy dollars and ninety cents purchases. Are you kidding me?

• 50:25Caleb Hammer?

Free people, free people, torches, free people, free people, Joanne's They're supposed to give you my, what are you getting?

• 50:32Speaker 01

  Fabric.

• 50:33Caleb Hammer?

  For?

• 50:34Speaker 01

  To eventually make clothing.

• 50:37Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I made that joke. It's not even a joke?

• 50:39Speaker 01

No. I see fabric and I want it. And I think I'm gonna do something with it, but it has now become a pile of fabric. That has no use.

• 50:52Caleb Hammer?

You're not getting the fabric to make a voodoo doll?

• 50:55Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 50:55Caleb Hammer?

Okay, Shake Shack. Going to the gas station, getting some bull-

• 50:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 50:59Caleb Hammer?

Timeless moments, what even is that?

• 51:01Speaker 01

Oh. Nostalgia. So, um, I bought a clock that my mom used to have.

• 51:08Caleb Hammer?

  Is that even her clock?

• 51:10Speaker 01

No. You know that Kit Kat clock? With the tail that wags and the eyes that go?

• 51:14Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my gosh.

• 51:15Speaker 01

So I saw it. I had always wanted it.

• 51:19Caleb Hammer?

  Owned though?

• 51:20Speaker 01

  No.

• 51:22Speaker 01

  That's another, that's another-

• 51:23Caleb Hammer?

More Joanne's, more Joanne's, we're gathering all that fabric, you better believe we're gonna roll around in it. Free people, Poshmark.

• 51:32Caleb Hammer?

Free people, Poshmark again. When does the interest free period end?

• 51:38Speaker 01

  Oh, I don't know.

• 51:40Caleb Hammer?

Are you kidding me? You just told me it's your plan to pay it off before the interest period ends. How could you have that plan if you don't know when the interest period ends?

• 51:47Speaker 01

I'd have to get back to you on that and look it up.

• 51:49Caleb Hammer?

That's not how this work, oh, you, you, you piss, you, you're pissing me off, you're starting to actually piss me off. This isn't, this isn't funny. This is not funny. This is not a little comedic-

• 52:02Speaker 01

  I pissed myself off.

• 52:05Caleb Hammer?

Not enough, not enough. You clearly don't give a-

• 52:09Caleb Hammer?

You, I'm sure there is a desire in there. A desire in there to make this better.

• 52:14Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 52:15Caleb Hammer?

But not even close to a strong enough desire, more than your desire to go and get fabric. The money you spent on Joanne's- Let's find out. I'm sure that's in here somewhere.

• 52:28Caleb Hammer?

That's in this mess of insanity in here somewhere. See Joanne, how much Joanne, how much were you Joanne? Joanne, let's see.

• 52:38Speaker 01

  Not, not a lot.

• 52:39Caleb Hammer?

It's a stop. No, not Joanne, sorry. On, on, on, on peoples.

• 52:43Speaker 01

  Oh. A lot.

• 52:47Caleb Hammer?

  I bet.

• 52:48Speaker 01

  I'm disgusted with myself.

• 52:50Caleb Hammer?

Also expires in like June twenty twenty five.

• 52:53Speaker 01

  Okay, I got time.

• 52:55Caleb Hammer?

Kind of, not when you spend the money you spend free people. Five thousand eight hundred sixty nine dollars. Five thousand eight hundred sixty nine dollars. You kidding me? Listen, I'm opening up, I'm opening up Mumu. I'm opening up Mumu. My investing, it's my brokerage where I buy into like the S and P five hundred, okay? First of all, if you literally just had put five thousand, how much was it? What was it again? What the, was it possibly?

• 53:24Speaker 01

  The limit.

• 53:25Caleb Hammer?

Five thousand eight hundred sixty nine dollars, five, well, I don't need my phone for that.

• 53:32Caleb Hammer?

I was gonna actually do it in the app, but I'm not buying five thousand eight hundred sixty nine dollars of. Well, okay, actually, if you didn't even buy that, I think their, their interest rate on your money for like three months is eight point two five percent as a promotional thing. So five thousand and then you'd get for.

• 53:50Speaker 01

If this is difficult for you.

• 53:52Caleb Hammer?

It's not, it's not, it's not. My difficulty is trying to figure you out, man.

• 53:58Speaker 01

Oh, well, I haven't been able to do that.

• 54:02Caleb Hammer?

That's great, that's hilarious. That's so good, our life sucks.

• 54:08Caleb Hammer?

We're never gonna go get help. It's great. Guys pity me. Hundred sixty one dollars a month, a month you would've got, just letting us sit in the. Or you could've sat there and you could've got five hundred eighty dollars a year. In like the S and P five hundred.

• 54:24Speaker 01

See, it's stuff like that that would make me turn this around because I, I'm not aware of, you know, money.

• 54:31Caleb Hammer?

You're not aware of money, you're forty two, you have access, you have access to, I, I, I can't accept that excuse anymore. Really can't, unless you're under the age of twenty five, I really can't, because you have had decades, well, actually it hasn't been around that long. A decade access to YouTube to learn things, you've had newspapers, you've had libraries, you've had the internet, you've had Google, you've had the ability to search. Hey guys, is there anything I should be doing about money? You've had that ability! You wouldn't have had to know what to do with money, you had the ability to seek it out. And you chose not to. From eighteen to forty-two, you said, "I'm a [bleep] child."

• 55:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 55:11Caleb Hammer?

"My life sucks, and I'm not ever gonna try to benefit in any way, cuz I'm a perfect little victim."

• 55:17Speaker 01

  Stunt it, yep.

• 55:19Caleb Hammer?

  What does that mean?

• 55:20Speaker 01

  Still a child, like, I don't... I don't wanna grow up, I'm a Toys R Us kid.

• 55:26Caleb Hammer?

I legitimately do not wanna talk to her anymore, do I? This is...

• 55:32Caleb Hammer?

I wanna get someone else to sit in for me. Um...

• 55:35Speaker 01

  No, you're doing it, you're, you're helping.

• 55:37Caleb Hammer?

  Nice fool.

• 55:43Speaker 01

  Very helpful.

• 55:44Caleb Hammer?

Shh, please. Gimme a [bleep] second, dude. I have not been as irritated with someone as you in a hot minute, and I didn't expect this. You were so... Listen, before we started filming. For [bleep] sake. For [bleep] sake, you just get into this, you were just an absolute child. You're a child, you're an actual kid. You're an actual child. There's nothing I can do about that, there's nothing I can do about your maturity level.

• 56:09Speaker 01

  I'm willing to change-

• 56:10Caleb Hammer?

Ah! Gimme a moment, I'm just trying to [bleep] exist.

• 56:15Speaker 01

  Me too.

• 56:15Caleb Hammer?

Oh my god. I'm just, I'm contemplating the benefits and consequences of ending this episode early.

• 56:22Caleb Hammer?

It would upset my teams. And I would regret it. God, and we have to, we call it a poche anyway. So, no matter what, I'm in this thing. Though, we've proven we can do it without the guest being here. When I kicked that one guy out, so... Ah, whatever, what is this car, what is this car, Subaru, you have a Subaru?

• 56:40Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 56:41Caleb Hammer?

Oddly, thirty-six months, which is great for this show, in terms of a term. It's gonna be paid off in two years, so you've had it for a year.

• 56:49Speaker 01

  It's a lease.

• 56:51Speaker 01

So I thought my credit was better than it was. I had all my credit card debt paid off when I went to get this car. Um, then they ran my credit. Lo and behold, the interest rate is not that good, so I dialed it back.

• 57:05Caleb Hammer?

Meaning that is baked into the f***ing lease, by the way.

• 57:08Speaker 01

Yeah. I got the base model, though. Like, I was trying to not spend over budget. Yes, okay, but I have a reason for that.

• 57:17Caleb Hammer?

Are you creating videos as a full-time creator? It's a grind between scripting, editing, and, oh, all those endless little tweaks. And sometimes it feels like Taquitos would be honestly a better career choice, but that's where today's sponsor, InVideo AI, comes in. With over 10 million users across 150 countries, InVideo AI is the world's most-used AI video creator. I remember hearing about other generative AI tools what feels like ages ago. And when I recently looked, most of them aren't even available to the public yet. But InVideo AI V3 is going to be available for access soon all across the world. It's the only tool that'll truly put you in the director's seat, so here's how it works.

• 57:55Caleb Hammer?

To start, you enter in a detailed prompt. For example, create a 30-second video of a waterfall flowing in the deep jungles of Amazon. There should be candles around the banks of the waterfall.

• 58:14Caleb Hammer?

Cut to a small cozy wooden cabin lit up with warm lights.

• 58:26Caleb Hammer?

Cut to a parrot flying in slow motion and add a voiceover using my voice. Parrots can fly by at speeds of 30 to 50 miles per hour. InVideo's AI will generate a rough draft based on your input, and it's unlike any video creation tool I've ever used before. Remember, you're the director here and can prompt whatever changes you need, just like I did. So if you haven't checked out InVideo AI V2 already, go check it out right now for free. With paid plans starting from just $20 a month, and if you use my code CALEPHAMMER50, you'll get two times the number of video creation minutes in the first month. Scan the QR code on screen or check out the link in the description below to try out the future of video creation today. Oh, to you.

• 59:04Speaker 01

I was looking at these models, and the car market at that point in time was so bad.

• 59:10Caleb Hammer?

  It wasn't 2021.

• 59:12Speaker 01

They were trying to sell me...

• 59:13Caleb Hammer?

If you went to one lot, yeah, sure. But did you not go to more than one lot?

• 59:19Speaker 01

No. I totaled my car and then the next day I went and got a new car.

• 59:24Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 59:26Caleb Hammer?

  You had a boyfriend.

• 59:27Speaker 01

  Hmm.

• 59:29Caleb Hammer?

You had access to Uber for a little bit.

• 59:32Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 59:33Caleb Hammer?

Okay, well, here we are. We have it. We were dumb. Does, uh, let's learn our lesson for two years from now, please. Cause it doesn't really make sense to buy it out.

• 59:44Speaker 01

No, the goal was to fix my credit.

• 59:48Caleb Hammer?

What's your credit score? You have three max out cards. I don't know what the.

• 59:52Speaker 01

It was six sixty-six or six sixty-nine. When I went to go lease the car and now it has dropped down to six oh two.

• 1:00:02Speaker 01

Six oh two. Six oh two.

• 1:00:05Caleb Hammer?

I get, I, I heard you. What? You, you summoning. Say it three times.

• 1:00:11Speaker 01

  It's embarrassing.

• 1:00:13Caleb Hammer?

I know, I know you try to summon things in front of mirrors. I know, but this is, you do not have to repeat three times here. Okay, well, you're in it. You're in it. What are you gonna do at the end of the lease?

• 1:00:25Speaker 01

The goal was to trade up to a nicer model, but I don't think that's gonna happen. Um, I do not want to own this car.

• 1:00:30Caleb Hammer?

Why do you think that's not gonna happen, huh? Huh? Why?

• 1:00:33Speaker 01

  Because it seems like.

• 1:00:36Speaker 01

I can't be helped even though I'm like asking for help. I'm trying to figure out what.

• 1:00:39Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no. Why do you think that can't happen? Why do you think that's not gonna happen is what you said. Why? Why? Explain it. I wanna hear it.

• 1:00:46Speaker 01

Because I don't wanna live above my means anymore.

• 1:00:49Caleb Hammer?

  Thank you.

• 1:00:49Speaker 01

  Oh.

• 1:00:50Caleb Hammer?

Thank you for sake. Thank you. Ding ding ding ding. You, you did it. That is the actual right answer. I thought you were gonna say because, because, uh, you know, my, my credit score, it's not gonna work. Well, it's cuz you don't wanna live beyond your means. Are you gonna think that in two years from now? Are you gonna get a fire lit under your butt for two months?

• 1:01:10Speaker 01

I don't need a nicer car. This car is nice. It's new. It's reliable.

• 1:01:14Caleb Hammer?

Well, hold on. Wait, are you saying you're gonna buy this out?

• 1:01:17Speaker 01

No, I don't know what to do. I don't know what to do cuz I had a plan.

• 1:01:20Caleb Hammer?

What's the, what's your, what's your, uh, buy at the end of term number?

• 1:01:25Speaker 01

They will tell me that at the end of term.

• 1:01:27Caleb Hammer?

They will tell you it now.

• 1:01:29Speaker 01

  Oh, they will?

• 1:01:30Caleb Hammer?

They'll tell you it at the beginning of the term.

• 1:01:32Speaker 01

They said it'll probably increase in value and then I'll get, I'll get

• 1:01:35Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Money back. Yeah, yeah, if you like traded in or something, sure. And that's increase in value? These people are so

• 1:01:41Speaker 01

  Salesman.

• 1:01:44Speaker 01

  I know.

• 1:01:47Speaker 01

  Maybe.

• 1:01:47Caleb Hammer?

  I need my stress. Okay.

• 1:01:56Caleb Hammer?

What? You don't know what it is? Do we know what it is? Guys, do we have it? Do we, do we know what her, uh? Do we have her buyout? Cause we can calculate it if we know her buyout.

• 1:02:09Caleb Hammer?

Your statement didn't have anything on it.

• 1:02:12Speaker 01

I think it was, the total was twenty, twenty-six thousand.

• 1:02:18Caleb Hammer?

  At the beginning?

• 1:02:19Speaker 01

  Yeah. Yeah.

• 1:02:21Caleb Hammer?

How confident are you in this?

• 1:02:22Speaker 01

Pretty confident. I think I shot for a car that was around twenty-three and then with all the things

• 1:02:30Speaker 01

that come with leasing or buying a car.

• 1:02:32Caleb Hammer?

  It was how much again?

• 1:02:33Speaker 01

  Around twenty-six thousand.

• 1:02:36Caleb Hammer?

Uh, that would bring it to a value of nine thousand five hundred nineteen. Now

• 1:02:39Speaker 01

Oh, and I put in three thousand. Does that matter? I had cash.

• 1:02:44Caleb Hammer?

Yes, it does. It does, um.

• 1:02:47Speaker 01

  I saved.

• 1:02:47Caleb Hammer?

So, so, so, so, so, so, so, so.

• 1:02:52Caleb Hammer?

You put in three thousand? Uh, and it was twenty-six thousand?

• 1:02:57Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:02:57Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so... Twenty-three thousand? Well, the buyout at the end, if this is correct, was that the car or was that the total payment though? Because my fear is that they baked in a bunch of fees and a bunch of top of it, you know?

• 1:03:12Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:03:13Caleb Hammer?

Was that the purchase price of the car?

• 1:03:14Speaker 01

  Extra insurance, monthly.

• 1:03:17Caleb Hammer?

And it became out to twenty-six? Or was twenty-six the purchase price of the car?

• 1:03:21Speaker 01

No, I think twenty-six was the purchase price of the car.

• 1:03:23Caleb Hammer?

Good. Then I have no way to calculate this, okay?

• 1:03:28Caleb Hammer?

Listen, if it's around ten thousand dollars or under ten thousand dollars and the value holds by then, sure. Get a, get a cash card. We can get you to the point of getting a cash card. Or if you have to get a loan on it, hopefully, hopefully not, but we can get a smaller loan and put as much cash choices as we can. If it is more than ten thousand, we're not getting it. We're getting a ten thousand dollar car. If it is ten thousand dollars or less, but the value is dramatically less than the purchase price, then we're not getting it. And we're getting a ten thousand dollar car that's worth ten thousand dollars. Okay? That's what we'll do, but that's what we'll do. Okay? You didn't know what to do. That's what we're doing. Okay?

• 1:03:59Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:03:59Caleb Hammer?

  Okay?

• 1:04:00Speaker 01

  I think that sounds rational.

• 1:04:03Caleb Hammer?

Okay. And you'll do that out at the end of your term in two years. Checking account, eight hundred forty-two dollars in here. Oh, my gosh, this is all spending. Aviator Pizza, Chick-fil-A, Joanne. Breaker Ridge Tap. Oh, this is kind of hard to read. Something Burrito, Iron Man Hot Springs.

• 1:04:22Speaker 01

It's just food or free people. Food or free people. That's it.

• 1:04:25Caleb Hammer?

Okay, okay. Went into the gas station, got like an energy drink.

• 1:04:28Speaker 01

  Yeah, candy.

• 1:04:32Caleb Hammer?

Hold Jerome Cafe. What kind of name is that? And Cabo Bobs and big fans of that around the office.

• 1:04:39Speaker 01

  Right? I am new to.

• 1:04:41Caleb Hammer?

Stop. Don't get, don't, don't. You're gonna hyper fixate. Stop. Pollo Rico, Chick-fil-A, Cabo Bobs, Chick-fil-A, Culvers. Nice. Taco Deli.

• 1:04:50Speaker 01

  They had the Curd Burger.

• 1:04:51Caleb Hammer?

Okay, don't, please. Cause then I'm gonna get hyper fixated. Cabo Bobs, mighty fine, Sinek, Pollo, Cambaro, Pollo Cambaro, Campero. Yes, I know what Pollo means. Cabo Bobs, and then Venmoing out two hundred, Venmoing out twenty, Venmoing out twenty-five, Venmoing out forty, Venmoing out twenty. Venmoing out four hundred fifty, Venmoing out two hundred twenty, Venmoing out, Zelling out eighty. Where are the Venmos going?

• 1:05:19Speaker 01

Um, the Venmo, I really only use Venmo for rent. So.

• 1:05:23Caleb Hammer?

How many rent payments do you have?

• 1:05:24Speaker 01

Um, twice a month, four hundred and fifty dollars.

• 1:05:28Caleb Hammer?

Uh, yeah, and all those extra ones?

• 1:05:30Speaker 01

Um, the two hundred was to pay the dog sitter.

• 1:05:33Caleb Hammer?

  For the vacation?

• 1:05:34Speaker 01

  Yeah, that I couldn't afford.

• 1:05:36Caleb Hammer?

Why couldn't boyfriend making six figures do that?

• 1:05:39Speaker 01

He's trying to save money too. He's trying to be responsible.

• 1:05:43Caleb Hammer?

Lady, you have three maxed out credit cards and a car you can't afford.

• 1:05:47Speaker 01

  Pay for everything for me.

• 1:05:49Caleb Hammer?

I'm not saying he should. But you, the simple fact is you cannot afford it. If he's not gonna pay for things and you can't afford it, you don't do it.

• 1:05:56Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:05:57Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah.

• 1:05:58Speaker 01

He's starting to realize he probably should try and hold me a little more accountable.

• 1:06:04Caleb Hammer?

Then we went out four hundred fifty.

• 1:06:05Speaker 01

But this all happened real fast.

• 1:06:07Caleb Hammer?

And And what about the other twenty, twenty-five, forty, twenty, eighty, fifty? Where'd that all go?

• 1:06:14Speaker 01

Uh, I went to, again, trying to be happy, um, make myself happy. I went to like a record convention and I'm, I started my record collection, which I do not have the right to start buying records, but, um, I'm into it.

• 1:06:31Caleb Hammer?

  Vending though.

• 1:06:32Speaker 01

  You, the vendor, yeah.

• 1:06:36Caleb Hammer?

  That's it, that's it, that's it, that's it, that's it.

• 1:06:41Speaker 01

That's all of it, except student loans.

• 1:06:43Caleb Hammer?

  Oh, good.

• 1:06:44Speaker 01

Which have just now become a problem again.

• 1:06:48Caleb Hammer?

  How much? Federal?

• 1:06:51Speaker 01

  Yeah, maybe. I don't know.

• 1:06:55Caleb Hammer?

  Who's your payment servicer?

• 1:06:56Speaker 01

Uh, like, who did I get the loans from?

• 1:06:59Caleb Hammer?

Who do you log into? What.com?

• 1:07:02Speaker 01

  Yes.

• 1:07:03Caleb Hammer?

  How much in student loans?

• 1:07:05Speaker 01

  That's, um, a good question.

• 1:07:11Speaker 01

It's probably, I know it's at least twenty thousand.

• 1:07:15Caleb Hammer?

  What's your payment?

• 1:07:16Speaker 01

Oh, I, I have, I just signed up for the Fresh Start program. Fingers crossed. Fingers crossed. It's a low payment so that I can work on this stuff.

• 1:07:26Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, that would be the only reason I'd want you to. Other than that, I, you make okay money. It's not even like you need anything. You don't even need help. And what usually those payment programs do, it's gonna allow the interest to just accrue like crazy because you're not putting anything towards it.

• 1:07:39Speaker 01

But are you, like, the Fresh Start program is pretty nifty if it holds.

• 1:07:45Caleb Hammer?

Yes, everything's being challenged in court.

• 1:07:47Speaker 01

Yeah, so we'll see, but that's, I'm holding out hope that it's ten years of repayment on a repayment plan.

• 1:07:55Caleb Hammer?

  Uh huh.

• 1:07:55Speaker 01

Or, um, I think it's fifty thousand dollars. So whichever comes first. Then they forgive the rest. No, well, it's more, it's definitely more than that. I, that's just what I saw recently. Um, it could be closer to eighty. It's all convoluted and ridiculous and it's, it's overwhelming.

• 1:08:13Caleb Hammer?

Oh, I was just trying to type something in and I believe I heard eighty thousand.

• 1:08:18Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:18Caleb Hammer?

The f*** are you? What are you talking about? You said 20. How 20? You have no respect for money. Do you not understand the difference between 20 and $80,000?

• 1:08:28Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:08:29Caleb Hammer?

How'd you tell me 20 and then you're like, it could be closer to 8?

• 1:08:31Speaker 01

Cause I saw 2 on my credit report, but I don't think that that's everything.

• 1:08:39Speaker 01

Cause it's like a bunch of private loans too, I'm pretty sure with with Sally Mae.

• 1:08:48Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know.

• 1:08:51Speaker 01

  Yeah, that's how that's what's happening inside.

• 1:08:53Caleb Hammer?

Shut it. Just please allow me to kneel down for a moment.

• 1:08:57Speaker 01

Okay. I might need one of those.

• 1:08:59Caleb Hammer?

Stop. I want to hear your voice. Stop.

• 1:09:05Caleb Hammer?

Okay, so to be clear, 20,000 in federal? That you're getting on a repayment plan for, right? Right? Right? Right?

• 1:09:11Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:09:12Caleb Hammer?

  And you're

• 1:09:14Caleb Hammer?

  and you're telling me that.

• 1:09:14Speaker 01

  Ready.

• 1:09:17Speaker 01

  Ready to start paying it.

• 1:09:19Caleb Hammer?

You're not. You're going on like a zero payment. Uh, let's see. I'm trying to understand fresh start. Fresh start, um, borrowers defaulted loans. Well, you're not. Typically, wait.

• 1:09:30Speaker 01

They were in default. Yeah. Oh, baby, were they in default. I was I've been wages garnished for a few years.

• 1:09:40Caleb Hammer?

So they're just, it's just move to normal. This is

• 1:09:43Speaker 01

  This is the Mohill.

• 1:09:44Caleb Hammer?

Oh, so you're just trying to get it into regular things and it would be like $250 a month and then?

• 1:09:49Speaker 01

  It will? Too much money.

• 1:09:52Caleb Hammer?

Well, you can and then you can from there, you, once in good standing, which is what you're trying to get to borrowers may qualify for income agreement repayment plans. A lot of those are on hold. I don't know if they're even get people. I don't know if they're even accepting people into those right now. Cause they're all being challenged by the court. They're all in deferment.

• 1:10:07Speaker 01

  Isn't that sad?

• 1:10:09Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know. Maybe it's up legally.

• 1:10:11Speaker 01

I need a direction. I need to know what I'm doing.

• 1:10:16Speaker 01

Because whatever I'm doing is not working out.

• 1:10:18Caleb Hammer?

You're telling me there are sixty thousand dollars in private student loans?

• 1:10:23Speaker 01

  Maybe forty-five?

• 1:10:25Caleb Hammer?

Math is not mathing. Don't think you understand what a number is.

• 1:10:32Speaker 01

I don't know. It's changed so much over the years.

• 1:10:34Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, because you've probably not paid anything under private student loans and they're probably like ten percent interest and they're probably just growing, growing, growing, growing. Plus penalties.

• 1:10:42Speaker 01

Yeah, they're like higher than that interest.

• 1:10:45Caleb Hammer?

Yes, you're talking about getting a house or something. That's not gonna happen. Not if you're not paying on your loans. Your debt to income is gonna be absolutely insane.

• 1:10:51Speaker 01

  Predatory lenders, yeah.

• 1:10:53Caleb Hammer?

So they're probably about sixty thousand dollars now because it was forty-five thousand dollars and then you didn't pay anything.

• 1:10:57Speaker 01

I think my schooling cost like a hundred and twenty thousand.

• 1:11:00Caleb Hammer?

  For what? For what?

• 1:11:02Speaker 01

For a degree in fashion design. How ridiculous is that?

• 1:11:05Caleb Hammer?

Where? Private institute? Probably out of state? Maybe? Where? What?

• 1:11:10Speaker 01

International Academy of Design and Technology in Chicago.

• 1:11:15Speaker 01

I initially was gonna go to the Art Institute but couldn't afford that, so I downgraded.

• 1:11:19Caleb Hammer?

I couldn't afford this. Uh, the payment there was probably something like six hundred bucks a month. Nah, I'm like five fifty, but it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter because you have you have you ever paid one? When's the last time you paid on your private student loans?

• 1:11:34Speaker 01

  I I don't know.

• 1:11:35Caleb Hammer?

Do you have Credit Karma on your phone?

• 1:11:37Speaker 01

  Yeah, probably.

• 1:11:39Caleb Hammer?

  Pull it up.

• 1:11:42Speaker 01

  It's an app, right?

• 1:11:43Caleb Hammer?

  Yes.

• 1:11:44Speaker 01

  Okay.

• 1:11:47Caleb Hammer?

We're able to bring in the boyfriend for the post-show? He's here in the green room?

• 1:11:51Speaker 01

  Yeah, he needs to know.

• 1:11:53Caleb Hammer?

Oh, fu- he needs to know? He doesn't know?

• 1:11:57Speaker 01

I mean, we don't have conjoined finances, so.

• 1:11:59Caleb Hammer?

  What does he know?

• 1:12:00Speaker 01

  He sees the packages.

• 1:12:02Caleb Hammer?

Oh, good. This is gonna be interesting. Oh, this is gonna be a post-show for.

• 1:12:08Speaker 01

Um, so I had credit karma. I can't get into the account. It's saying that my email is not valid.

• 1:12:15Caleb Hammer?

Type in a different email that it might be.

• 1:12:18Speaker 01

Yeah, it's not letting me in.

• 1:12:19Caleb Hammer?

Okay. I think the more beneficial thing is almost bringing the boyfriend so he can just have conversations with you about this because I don't even have all the information. Without all the information, I'm almost supposed to do this. We didn't know. It's not their fault. They only give me what you provide and what we provide is we tell you to send everything. How the would we know?

• 1:12:40Speaker 01

What if I log into? No, that's just the federal.

• 1:12:43Caleb Hammer?

Do you have a credit tracking something?

• 1:12:45Speaker 01

  Um, yeah.

• 1:12:46Caleb Hammer?

  What?

• 1:12:47Speaker 01

  Credit wise through Capital One.

• 1:12:50Caleb Hammer?

Oh, sure. Let me look. Oh, guys.

• 1:12:55Caleb Hammer?

Guys, she has three things in collections. Are you kidding me?

• 1:13:01Speaker 01

  What is it?

• 1:13:06Speaker 01

Like old debt, credit card debt?

• 1:13:07Caleb Hammer?

This has to be a prank. This has to be a prank. One from some bank is probably a credit card. It's been on there for six years.

• 1:13:18Speaker 01

  Is it Comenity?

• 1:13:19Caleb Hammer?

  Yes, another one from Comenity.

• 1:13:21Speaker 01

  Yeah, old hyper fixations.

• 1:13:24Caleb Hammer?

Relatively close to falling off. If you've been dealing in hyper fixations from then, a budget is not gonna do it. You need to see. There, I think I'm done. I think I'm done. I think I'm done. I think I'm done. Am I allowed to be done? Am I given the ability to be done? Lindsay, can I be done?

• 1:13:41Speaker 01

  You're saying I can't be helped? I I even think I can be helped.

• 1:13:45Caleb Hammer?

No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It's not about you can't being helped. It's just that I don't have all your information. I can't make a budget here, but what really is gonna help you is you need to sit down with a therapist and get coping mechanisms for your hyper fixation and we need to talk to this so that he understands what is going on in your life so that he can support you. Making a budget right now is not gonna help anything because it doesn't matter because you're not gonna be able to.

• 1:14:07Speaker 01

  Yeah, I can fix that.

• 1:14:08Caleb Hammer?

Stop, stop, stop because you don't know how to stop hyper fixating. So it doesn't make sense. And also I can't make you a budget without knowing what your minimum monthly payments are. So I don't know.

• 1:14:22Caleb Hammer?

  I don't know.

• 1:14:23Speaker 01

Well, we're in the same boat.

• 1:14:25Caleb Hammer?

No, we're not. What do you mean we're in the same boat?

• 1:14:27Speaker 01

  Of not knowing.

• 1:14:28Caleb Hammer?

  Yeah, your life.

• 1:14:29Speaker 01

  I need.

• 1:14:30Caleb Hammer?

But congratulations, you have to walk out of here and your life is still your life.

• 1:14:37Speaker 01

I probably need a financial advisor before.

• 1:14:40Caleb Hammer?

Maybe I can get you connected with our people that don't make money. They're great financial advisors. I work with them personally for my own money. They're great. I love them. We can do it. But I don't know, because again, they can't help you if you are unable to literally log into an account to provide a statement.

• 1:15:07Caleb Hammer?

  Oh my gosh. Oh my.

• 1:15:11Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna, I, this is. I'm gonna lose it.

• 1:15:17Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna lose it. They are telling me that you haven't even filed last year's taxes and it's the end of this year.

• 1:15:26Speaker 01

  Yeah.

• 1:15:27Caleb Hammer?

What the is wrong with you? I've never asked that on the show, I don't think.

• 1:15:32Speaker 01

  Really?

• 1:15:33Caleb Hammer?

  Is wrong with you?

• 1:15:36Speaker 01

  Being a child.

• 1:15:37Caleb Hammer?

  How do you?

• 1:15:38Speaker 01

  Not taking responsibility.

• 1:15:39Caleb Hammer?

Your W two, it is plug and play. It's the easiest thing to do.

• 1:15:43Speaker 01

I've had problems with my Illinois taxes, so um.

• 1:15:46Caleb Hammer?

  What about them?

• 1:15:47Speaker 01

I was working towards straightening that stuff out.

• 1:15:50Caleb Hammer?

  When did you move here?

• 1:15:51Speaker 01

  Um, two years ago.

• 1:15:52Caleb Hammer?

Then it wouldn't be a factor in your 2023 taxes.

• 1:15:55Speaker 01

I am getting billed. For old Illinois taxes.

• 1:16:01Caleb Hammer?

I don't give a federal, file your federal 2023 taxes and deal with your Illinois stuff. I don't understand why you couldn't deal with last year's taxes. You may have gotten a return.

• 1:16:12Speaker 01

  Yeah, probably.

• 1:16:15Speaker 01

I was scared to find out what's gonna happen. So just

• 1:16:22Speaker 01

  make it a bigger problem.

• 1:16:23Caleb Hammer?

No, you just don't know how to do anything. You need to be coddled or something. You need to see the therapist. That is the first step and we need to talk to this guy and he needs to understand what is going on in your life so he can support you. Can't make a budget because it's not going to be a realistic budget and the audience hates when I don't make a budget. Guess what? I hate when I don't make a budget too, but I literally cannot. And that is not the fault of any casting. That is not the fault of any producers. We asked you to send everything you are not able to. We wouldn't know. It's impossible. So listen, I, this is what is going to happen right now. This is what is gonna happen right now. I am going to stand up. I'm gonna walk into the other room. I'm gonna have a snack. I am going to have a pee. I'm gonna have a drink of water.

• 1:17:04Caleb Hammer?

I'm gonna calm down for five minutes as we get set up for the post show, but I am done because I cannot take anymore of this. Conversation. This is crazy. I'm done. Your hammer financial score is obviously zero. You haven't filed taxes. This what?

• 1:17:22Speaker 01

  I don't get a pie chart?

• 1:17:24Caleb Hammer?

Here's your pie chart. Okay. Your pie chart is you spent three times the amount of money you bring in. Are you kidding me, guys? This is insane. This is.

• 1:17:33Speaker 01

  No, no, I thought.

• 1:17:34Caleb Hammer?

If you want to fix your life, actually go through the education like she needed to 20 years ago. Check out all three of our programs bundled together 25% off. That's it. I'll see you in the post show. I'm gonna take a moment and relax because I. I can't. I need a moment. I just.

• 1:17:50Speaker 01

  Sorry.

• 1:17:51Caleb Hammer?

Boyfriend is what we'll call you. How old are you?

• 1:17:53Speaker 02

  I am.

• 1:17:55Caleb Hammer?

  You cougar.

• 1:17:57Speaker 01

  I feel young at heart.

• 1:17:58Caleb Hammer?

Did you know she hasn't paid taxes?

• 1:17:59Speaker 02

This is the first time I'm hearing.

• 1:18:01Caleb Hammer?

Does she need to pay 900 or?

• 1:18:02Speaker 01

  It's what we agreed on.

• 1:18:03Caleb Hammer?

I know it's what you agreed on, but you guys are also and dating.

• 1:18:06Speaker 01

  I don't know if I'd feel comfortable.

• 1:18:07Caleb Hammer?

How much guy? It's half her income.

• 1:18:10Speaker 02

She doesn't pay any of the utilities, so I cover a lot of that stuff.

• 1:18:13Caleb Hammer?

Yeah, you make a hundred 25,000 dollars a year.

• 1:18:15Speaker 02

I would need to calculate it out.
