Hey, everyone. This is Leon from Prologue Projects. On this subscriber-only episode of Five to Four, Peter, Rhiannon, and Michael are talking about three legal fights from pop culture, including one that centers around one of the year's biggest songs.

• 0:19Speaker 01

They not like us. They not like us. They not like us. They not like us. They not like us. They not like us.

• 0:28Speaker 02

Rapper Drake turning his feud with Kendrick Lamar into a legal fight. In a court petition, his lawyers are accusing Universal Music Group of using tactics like bots to artificially inflate K-Dot's diss track, "Not Like Us," on radio and Spotify.

• 0:46Speaker 00

The hosts also discuss an influencer lawsuit in which one woman accused another of copying her style and likeness. They also talk about the recent TikTok case, which could result in the app being banned in the US. That case is likely to go to the Supreme Court. This is Five to Four, a podcast about how much the Supreme Court sucks.

• 1:10Peter Shamshiri?

Welcome to Five to Four, where we dissect and analyze the Supreme Court cases that have handed our civil liberties over to the authorities like a McDonald's employee handing over the CEO killer. I'm Peter. I'm here with Rhiannon.

• 1:23Speaker 04

  Wow. Hello, but wow.

• 1:26Peter Shamshiri?

  And Michael.

• 1:27Michael Liroff?

Was it an employee or was it a patriot? I thought it was some old dude who was sitting there eating.

• 1:33Peter Shamshiri?

  Either way.

• 1:34Speaker 04

  I'm blaming McDonald's either way.

• 1:38Michael Liroff?

Or the nasty people of Altoona, who are not comrades.

• 1:43Peter Shamshiri?

Look, I'm from Pennsylvania. Anyone who knows anything about Altoona knows it's not a safe place for cool people, if you know what I mean.

• 1:54Speaker 04

  Teaming with snitches, apparently.

• 1:57Peter Shamshiri?

First of all, I want to take a little bit of credit here because a couple of you were popping off in the group text about how this guy was never going to be found.

• 2:06Speaker 04

I'm rolling my eyes. I'm rolling my eyes.

• 2:08Peter Shamshiri?

Michael and Josie Duffy Rice especially, acting like this was never going to happen. And I was like, this guy's going to get got. They've got every fancy detective on earth. They've got fucking Matlock out here. They got the knives out guy. They're after him. All right. Now, what I didn't account for was that, of course, what would result in this man getting caught was not police work per se, but our nation's snitch-like conscience, our nation's snitch-like aura.

• 2:37Speaker 04

  Our nation's snitch class.

• 2:39Peter Shamshiri?

Yeah. I will say, it's funny that they were like, he fled New York. He could be anywhere by now. And, you know, we were all like, if he's smart, he's in Fiji. You know what I mean? Altoona, bro?

• 2:49Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 2:51Peter Shamshiri?

  Altoona?

• 2:51Michael Liroff?

Why? Didn't toss the gun. He had five days to get rid of the gun. And it was apparently a ghost gun, a printed gun, untraceable, just throw it in the river. Never come back to you, ever.

• 3:03Peter Shamshiri?

I mean, Ree, as a public defender, this has to bring up memory where you're just like, come on, man.

• 3:08Speaker 04

No, 1,000%. But also, you know, when you're projecting, when the masses, when the people online are projecting their political values onto this story, right? You want so much more out of this individual in terms of the planning and execution here. You see a video where, you know, he shoots this man in basically almost broad daylight in the middle of Manhattan. You think, this man is like hitman level. This must be a professional. Look at him.

• 3:37Michael Liroff?

  He clears a jam.

• 3:39Speaker 04

  Yeah.

• 3:39Michael Liroff?

  Very smoothly.

• 3:40Speaker 04

Right? Like, all of this stuff. And then he's in fucking Altoona? And he's got the gun on him? I mean...

• 3:48Michael Liroff?

  Yeah.

• 3:48Peter Shamshiri?

Yeah, it's true. Everyone is projecting both their political ideology and also their deep desire that this be the ultimate badass. This guy is just, just the coolest, smartest guy ever.
