And they don't even teach like what a reliable source is. They're not teaching the .gov, .edu, .com difference anymore. I couldn't tell you what the difference is there.

  Yes. It rained at 3 o'clock every single day and we were like ducking and dodging all the raindrops. Yes, it was very ghetto, but bungalow sounds so classy. I like that.

  Well, no, I mean. She has real scam experience. I don't personally have real scam experience. Like, I don't think I've been scammed. One of my best friends got scammed really bad recently. Like, the kind of thing you hear and you're like, that doesn't happen to people you know, right?

  I recently had one of those that doesn't happen with people you know, like a natural disaster. Like, this is such a bummer, but like, I'm just gonna say it, but shout out to Ms. Pat. But a saint who was working in the church feeding like people who didn't have meals. And during the tornadoes that happened in St. Louis, she was killed in the church. And I was like, I have never had a natural disaster happen to, like, it's like you see it on the news and you see the numbers of the toll or whatever, but there never anybody that you know. And you're like, what the, like, how the fuck did this happen?

  So when the news hits you, when you see stuff on the news and you're like, damn, I actually know that person, that's crazy. So you had a friend who was a part of a scam.

  So she got scammed. Mm-hmm. Her and her husband worked their whole life. Oh, now I know. I was trying to like, oh my goodness, what happened? Yeah. Yeah. They worked their whole life, uh, saved up a down payment for a home. Mm-hmm. In the hundreds of thousands that they put away consistently. And finally got a large down payment for their dream home. Yeah. And they went through escrow and everything and the day they were supposed to send their payment, they did. Um, they wired it, all of that. It was a scam. It was a fake wire fraud. And this happens all the time. And you hear, oh, like, be careful. You got to make sure you're sending the money to the right people.

  But what these people did is they copied the escrow company 100%. So it's going to be the same email, the same names, the same numbers on the same day that you would be wiring them your money if you're buying a home. All fake, all the money's gone. There's no way to track them down. There's no one to sue. There's no insurance. Gone, poof. Someone stole their entire life savings.

It's just like advice to the wise out here of like, some things have to be done in person because the scammers are, they're right there everywhere.

I tell people all the time, if you get a random phone call from the social security office or especially right now, like you have to hang up and call the real number back again because you can clone a phone number when you are calling someone and you think it's legit, but it's not. The number actually has been cloned by the scammer.

  Like if you ever get an invoice or something from the state, the government or anything, and it's a time threat and they're threatening you and they're trying to make you act before you can think or process what you Are receiving information wise, it's a scam. Take a second. You always have 30 seconds. That's what I always say. Like, if it's a medical emergency, if it's anything, you always have 30 seconds. And 30 seconds, if you're in a plank, or you're on one of those Pilates performers, that's a lifetime.

But it's like, 30 seconds actually is an impactful amount of time to pause, think about the information you've received, before you go to Walmart, get some gift cards and scratch them off and take a picture.

Weinstein was me tooed in, I don't like the me tooed thing. How did that become a verb? Harvey Weinstein, all his crimes caught up to him. Cause he was doing hella crimes and it caught up to him. And that caught up to him in October of 2017. For reference, like this investor did apparently ignore some red flags. Because John was like, oh, I'm working with Weinstein and Miramax and don't look at the news.

  Like, and obviously there's some flags there because at this point, everyone like finally got that man put away. So the investor entered into a contract with John and Alores Entertain, may remember Alores, that was where he had the magic wig thing, that required the investor to finance the remake of Tales from the Crypt. The victim wired John about a hundred thousand dollars in seed funding to begin organization of the film project. After time passed with no reported progress on the film, the investor contacted friends in the film industry and eventually discovered the project was not real. Why would you contact friends of the film industry before you sent a hundred thousand dollars? I'm not gonna victim blame, cause this sounds legit to me. They're rebooting everything. Why not Tales from the Crypt?

He wasn't sweating in that picture, but he was sweating a different kind of bullet from his gambling addiction. And he did that between April of 2018 and September of 2018. He spent a hundred thousand dollars. Investors found his bank records that most of the spending, like when they looked in the bank records, was casino based and none of it was film based. He was arrested in 2020 and found guilty of one count of obtaining money under false pretenses over ten thousand dollars in 2023. So he hasn't really been that reprimanded.
