• 0:59Brooke Averick?

  Wow. Just wow.

• 1:01Speaker 03

  Just wow.

• 1:04Brooke Averick?

  It's good to see you.

• 1:05Speaker 03

It's really good to see you. How are you feeling exactly right now? As you are, who are you? How'd you get in here? What do you want from me specifically? What are we? We've been seeing each other for quite a while.

• 1:17Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 1:18Speaker 03

We've been seeing each other for quite a while. I don't know, like, are we gonna take this to the next level? Do you want to be serious with this? Or do you want to clown around a little bit? Can you take your shoes off while you're in my house? I can't get a read on you.

• 1:53Brooke Averick?

I can tell you honestly how I'm feeling, if that's what you're looking for, but I also can't really tell what you're looking for with what you just did.

• 1:59Speaker 03

Well, whatever you're doing, I'd like to, let's just kind of snowball off of that and also I'm gonna piggyback off of that as well while you snowball it. There.

• 2:07Brooke Averick?

  I just feel upset.

• 2:08Speaker 03

  Why?

• 2:09Brooke Averick?

Because I learned last night that the age limit to audition for American Idol is 29.

• 2:15Speaker 03

  Right.

• 2:15Brooke Averick?

  It's actually 28.

• 2:17Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 2:18Brooke Averick?

In a way, but you can be, you can turn 29. You may not be 30, under any circumstances.

• 2:24Speaker 03

  Again.

• 2:24Brooke Averick?

  Taylor Hicks, 29.

• 2:26Speaker 03

  Yeah. And again.

• 2:27Brooke Averick?

You could have told me he was 74 when I was watching that live. And I would have said, yeah.

• 2:35Speaker 03

Yeah, I mean, it just seems like, kind of like, um, like inappropriate thing to put an age limit on. Like, they have an age limit on, on, they're putting a cap on talent. First of all, that's ageism. We should cancel American Idol.

• 2:46Brooke Averick?

  Completely.

• 2:48Speaker 03

What, you're 29 and then suddenly?

• 2:49Brooke Averick?

You stop being able to be an American Idol, once you turn 30, your value increases that much that you cannot possibly be an idol for the American people?

• 2:58Speaker 03

Is it Leonardo DiCaprio making the rules over at American Idol? Oop, uh, sorry, you're, you're, you're turning 30 next week? You're chopped and unk, actually.

• 3:07Brooke Averick?

  Ruben Sutter was 24.

• 3:11Brooke Averick?

  Clay, I think, was 23.

• 3:15Brooke Averick?

I mean, all these people I would watch and be like, these are grown adults in a really serious way.

• 3:21Speaker 03

  Sure.

• 3:23Brooke Averick?

  All under 29. William Hung, 21. That's she-bangs.

• 3:29Speaker 03

Yeah, I don't know who any of these people are. I want to be frank.

• 3:33Brooke Averick?

There is, Izzy, would you mind Googling Taylor Hicks? Look at this man who won American Idol one year. This is a 29-year-old person.

• 3:40Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 3:41Brooke Averick?

In a pretty big, in a, in a very serious way. This was him on the stage.

• 3:47Speaker 03

I, can, can we make that image a little bit larger than life? What? Like, completely on?

• 3:55Brooke Averick?

He's lying, I mean, it's not right to accuse someone of lying about their age, but he's lying about his age, right?

• 3:59Speaker 03

But you couldn't blame this young, young man for stretching the truth a little bit, although he is, he is completely, um, a fraud.

• 4:10Brooke Averick?

He's, is he not a fraud?

• 4:13Brooke Averick?

  That's a 29 year old.

• 4:15Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 4:16Brooke Averick?

  According to Wikipedia.

• 4:18Speaker 03

Now, we are, we are also being... This is not okay for us, although it is just...

• 4:25Brooke Averick?

It's not okay to say that, it's not okay to look at someone and be like, no, you look so much older. Of course.

• 4:32Speaker 03

  No, never. It's not okay.

• 4:35Brooke Averick?

  He's not 29.

• 4:36Speaker 03

  It's lie.

• 4:37Brooke Averick?

It's fine. He's, he's a, I'm telling, I'm telling him that he's distinguished. In a way that would make it impossible for him to be 29.

• 4:45Speaker 03

He is a, he is a beautiful 29 year old silver fox, and that's completely fine in my book.

• 4:52Brooke Averick?

And also, besides just the gray hair of it all, the way that he looks otherwise is 29 plus. It's fine to say.

• 5:00Speaker 03

He is salt and peppering all over that stage. He's leaving a trail of salt and pepper. Like, like out of the woods to grandma's house.

• 5:08Brooke Averick?

I'm really just torn up about the whole thing, Connor.

• 5:11Speaker 03

See, I, like, I get it, and it's really weird what we, as, this is called American Idol. Now, we, we have put these age limits on so many things as American people, except running for president. You have to be 80 years old to run for, 29 year old.

• 5:26Brooke Averick?

  35, right?

• 5:27Speaker 03

Oh, yeah. Well, so you get six years in between being capped out of American Idol to decide if you want to run for president.

• 5:35Brooke Averick?

What will everyone do between 29 to 35 while they're, they can no longer audition for American Idol, but they're still waiting to run for president? What will y'all do?

• 5:44Speaker 03

What do you do with that time?

• 5:45Brooke Averick?

What do you do with that weird stretch of time?

• 5:48Speaker 03

No one knows what to do in between 29 and 35. I think that's when you backpack in Europe.

• 5:53Brooke Averick?

Ooh, yeah, that's nice. That's when you find yourself.

• 5:55Speaker 03

That's when you study abroad, explore your body.

• 5:58Brooke Averick?

I'm just like, and by the way, this is on a crossword. This was on the Wednesday crossword. And the clue was like age limit for American Idol, which one, didn't even know there was one. I had watched every season. Two, what do you mean 29?

• 6:15Speaker 03

So I'm confused with what the reasoning behind needing an age cap on being American Idol is outside of it being, like, doesn't that seem a little bit like off kilter that they would be like,

• 6:27Brooke Averick?

I think maybe they like wanted their idea, and we dealt with this a lot in the Clay Aiken season, Connor. They were big on appearances, that it didn't just take a voice to be an American Idol. It was like who you are as an entity. And I guess they were really saying like, you can't be this like, cool, like, person that everybody wants to be if you're over 30. Cause you're, you've completely aged out of that. You're too ancient.

• 6:55Speaker 03

I can't stop saying chopped and unk.

• 6:56Brooke Averick?

  That's fine to do.

• 6:58Speaker 03

Yeah, it's like, I mean, they need American Idol, and then when you're 29 to 35, you can be on, are you America's new chopped unk?

• 7:06Brooke Averick?

We need, yeah, we do need a show specifically for the 29 to 35 chopped and unk community.

• 7:19Speaker 03

Is this your new chopped unk? Join us after this break.

• 7:21Brooke Averick?

Are you more chopped and unk than a 29-year-old American Idol contestant? No, you can't be, because that's when you're really on your way out.

• 7:33Brooke Averick?

Ugh, it's really made me sick.

• 7:35Speaker 03

How chopped is this unk? Find out after, find out at 6:00 PM Eastern.

• 7:42Speaker 03

Just found out I'm chopped and unk. It's, that's like my new, that's my new tic.

• 7:47Brooke Averick?

Where did it originate? Like, I know the sound.

• 7:49Speaker 03

There was, there was a kid, there was a, I mean, a kid, it was, there was a chopped unk that was like,

• 7:53Brooke Averick?

  Who's 29?

• 7:55Speaker 03

He was working at like some high school event, like a prom or something, and he goes, just found out I'm chopped and unk. So that is the last time I'll chaperone prom.

• 8:06Speaker 03

Thank you, Taylor. I forget what it was. My other one right now, by the way, that I can't shake, I can't quite shake. And I'm being earnest when I say this. Drinking a beer and flicking my bean. Open my dad, you don't hear me queef. Genuinely, good song.

• 8:22Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 8:22Speaker 03

That's a, people keep being like, wow, it's, oh, it's almost August and we don't have our song in the summer? We do, and it's right below your nose.

• 8:29Brooke Averick?

I do, I do really like it.

• 8:32Speaker 03

Yeah, it, like, the lyrics-wise, it's a Cardi B song. But vibe-wise, it's Laney Wilson. It's like, it has everything you, you need.

• 8:41Brooke Averick?

  Who wrote it?

• 8:43Speaker 03

  It's AI.

• 8:45Brooke Averick?

Oh, so it's like Ten Drunk Cigarettes?

• 8:47Speaker 03

It's exactly like Ten Drunk Cigarettes. Um, I showed it to my, I posted a TikTok about this, but I showed it to Mimi.

• 8:56Brooke Averick?

Oh, and they really liked it?

• 8:58Speaker 03

They like were, they were absolutely like getting down with, you know, um, rub, rubbing a corn cob on my clit. That part specifically like really spoke to Mimi, it seemed.

• 9:11Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 9:12Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 9:13Brooke Averick?

  That's amazing. That's what I can't stop saying.

• 9:16Speaker 03

  That's amazing?

• 9:16Brooke Averick?

  That's amazing. Yeah.

• 9:20Speaker 03

My gosh, my dad was really mad that I posted that.

• 9:23Brooke Averick?

  What, what was his reaction?

• 9:26Speaker 03

Tony, you did, you, you saw what he, we're at dinner, you, you saw what he posted of you, right? You saw, and you, you heard, that's, that's online now, you know that, right? He was just like this, huffing and puffing.

• 9:37Brooke Averick?

Was, was your mom fine with it?

• 9:40Speaker 03

  It's funny.

• 9:41Brooke Averick?

I agree. I'm just asking if she was.

• 9:43Speaker 03

  We were singing along.

• 9:45Brooke Averick?

  She was fine with it?

• 9:46Speaker 03

She, she didn't blink. We were having such a good time.

• 9:48Brooke Averick?

Yeah, well, you know, I was forcibly, uh, made to take my Ten Drunk Cigarettes music video off of the internet.

• 9:54Speaker 03

Yeah, wait, you did that, oh, right.

• 9:56Brooke Averick?

On, on the family cruise. It was really appropriate.

• 10:00Speaker 03

Wait, who made you take it down?

• 10:01Brooke Averick?

Uh, my, every, my, my family.

• 10:06Speaker 03

  Everyone

• 10:07Brooke Averick?

  All the adults.

• 10:08Speaker 03

  Voted?

• 10:09Brooke Averick?

Uh, yeah, the adults said it was not good, a good look for those children still trying to get jobs. I forgot about like the si- like cyber footprints and stuff. Cause you throw yours out the window. When you sign a life of. Sign up to a life of what we do.

• 10:25Speaker 03

See like. Yes and no, because any if I, if I got back into. The workforce. Where I was previously, I think that they would be like, this is a huge asset.

• 10:37Brooke Averick?

That's what I'm saying. I'm saying like, we're fine. Cause like, it's just, this is our career.

• 10:42Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 10:42Brooke Averick?

Now, but if you're trying to be an investment banker. And you're. Like posting about like.

• 10:49Speaker 03

  Flicking your bean.

• 10:50Brooke Averick?

Ten drunk cigarettes, flicking your bean, like humping a corn on the cob, doing ten lines. That could affect you.

• 10:57Speaker 03

Right. You just can't. Yeah, that is something that you do have to keep to yourself. If you are gonna. Hump a corn cob and. And do the ten lines. That's something you do in behind closed doors.

• 11:07Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 11:08Speaker 03

Yeah. Um, yeah, right. Um, I don't see me being in the analyst or an investment banker.

• 11:14Brooke Averick?

  I, you're, you're fine.

• 11:17Speaker 03

Um. I wonder how people, cause I always wondered this because I like, there were people when we were starting. Tick up being on Tik Tok, when they would get followers and then. Like I would see them, their company that they work for like, start to. Use them and like promo stuff. I wonder if there's people. Yeah, it's weird because your role would shift. They're like, okay, now we have like a, we have a platform. That works for us. It's like contractually obligated to post like.

• 11:46Speaker 03

Things for our company. You know what I mean?

• 11:48Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but I would just be like, okay, you need to pay me more for that.

• 11:53Speaker 03

I just don't think like. Uh, that'd be an uncomfortable conversation.

• 11:57Brooke Averick?

Yeah, no, I was like, there was a very small overlap of me still teaching when I. Was on Tik Tok and the eighth graders started finding. My stuff.

• 12:07Brooke Averick?

  Which was amazing.

• 12:10Speaker 03

What did they, what'd they say?

• 12:12Brooke Averick?

  They were just like,

• 12:14Speaker 03

  Like our teachers-

• 12:14Brooke Averick?

They would just comment on it.

• 12:16Speaker 03

  That's freaky.

• 12:17Brooke Averick?

And be like, "Teacher Ruck." And I would be like, "No, champ, that's..."

• 12:22Speaker 03

  That's, that's-

• 12:23Brooke Averick?

  Someone else.

• 12:24Speaker 03

Nah, champ, I'm chopping unk. That ain't me.

• 12:27Brooke Averick?

  No, champion.

• 12:28Speaker 03

Um, they never tried to like collab with you? They couldn't, right?

• 12:31Brooke Averick?

It was like too, it was so early on, like, the word collab wasn't even like in, like, didn't, wasn't used in that context.

• 12:40Speaker 03

I can't believe your little ass was teaching 8th graders.

• 12:43Brooke Averick?

I wasn't, but they were at the school that I taught.

• 12:46Speaker 03

Oh. And they were taller than you?

• 12:49Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 12:51Speaker 03

  8th grade is-

• 12:52Brooke Averick?

  By a large margin.

• 12:53Speaker 03

That, 8th graders are probably the scariest demographic of, of people, like, walking on the streets.

• 13:02Brooke Averick?

I would like for us to connect with them. Like, we've connected with 5th graders. I think connecting with 8th graders would be a whole nother ballgame.

• 13:11Speaker 03

I was walking over the weekend past a skate park, wearing Fiori, my tennis shoes, my high socks, as I was going to the tennis courts, play tennis. I looked like such a chopped unk. Like, I don't, there's nothing else to describe me. I'm walking past, I was saying, I was looking at the ground, all these kids, like, bright 8th graders. They look sick. They look so sick.

• 13:34Brooke Averick?

  What's the style nowadays?

• 13:36Speaker 03

Like, baggy. They all look like Billie Eilish and Imma Chamberlain. I, I like, I'm like, "Don't talk, please, please, please don't look at me. Please don't look at me. Please don't look..." Like, I'm about to cross the street, just like, for safety reasons. They, they, they didn't look at me, thank God. But I was just like, it was scary. My heart was beating through my chest.

• 13:56Brooke Averick?

I wonder if they know how scary they are.

• 13:59Speaker 03

They just hold all the power in that, in that, in, in that relationship.

• 14:05Brooke Averick?

  I know that.

• 14:06Speaker 03

The, the power dynamic is very skewed in their favor, you know?

• 14:09Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 14:10Speaker 03

  They're so scary, woo.

• 14:12Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 14:12Speaker 03

I don't even like talking about it. It was a really harrowing experience. And also, I'm just like, truly chopped an unk.

• 14:22Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 14:23Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I do. It's sad. It's sad.

• 14:26Speaker 03

Um, can I tell you something that happened this morning?

• 14:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I'd like you to.

• 14:31Speaker 03

I've been getting humbled like right and left recently. And it's been like, it's been like humble after humble. So like, I'm, I'm pretty much like, I'm, I'm pretty much at, at, at ground zero right now. Humble, humbling wise. I go to the coffee shop.

• 14:48Brooke Averick?

Sorry if I contributed to that.

• 14:53Speaker 03

Like, you sending me someone who looks about 145 years old and saying, this is your doppelganger and she's actually bedridden.

• 15:02Brooke Averick?

  That's not what I said.

• 15:04Speaker 03

You said, this is for your next doppelganger post.

• 15:06Brooke Averick?

Exactly. I didn't, I said, this is for your next doppelganger post.

• 15:10Speaker 03

  Which?

• 15:10Brooke Averick?

I didn't think that this woman looked like you. I thought that she looked like some of the doppelgangers that people have submitted of you. Which I'm not saying are accurate by any means. This, I'm saying this looks like a, one of your doppelgangers. I did not say it looks like you. Does that make sense?

• 15:29Speaker 03

  Yeah. I mean,

• 15:30Brooke Averick?

And do you see what I mean?

• 15:31Speaker 03

And you understand how I made that jump?

• 15:33Brooke Averick?

I could see how you made the jump and I should have clarified.

• 15:37Speaker 03

You, okay. I get it. I'm not like that, that, like that, it's totally fine.

• 15:43Brooke Averick?

Do you see what I mean?

• 15:44Speaker 03

  I start sobbing.

• 15:48Speaker 03

I push over my, my, my snake plant in my, in my house. You know what? Fuck this. I'm out. We should, we need to do a walk off at some point. Like, we need to stage a walk off.

• 15:59Brooke Averick?

  What do you mean?

• 16:00Speaker 03

We've never had someone walk off our podcast. I want that, I want that to have a,

• 16:03Brooke Averick?

  And get mad?

• 16:04Speaker 03

Like, just like, I'm done. I'm out of here. Like, I want that so bad.

• 16:09Brooke Averick?

I feel like I've almost done that a few times.

• 16:13Speaker 03

  I didn't know that.

• 16:16Speaker 03

  Um, wow.

• 16:18Brooke Averick?

Is that how you were humbled?

• 16:20Speaker 03

  No.

• 16:21Brooke Averick?

  Okay, good.

• 16:21Speaker 03

I actually forgot about that, but thank you for bringing it back. Um, I went to the coffee shop today and I really like this barista.

• 16:30Brooke Averick?

  Like, like?

• 16:33Speaker 03

Like, I really like felt like this is my friend that I've known for a while.

• 16:38Brooke Averick?

  Okay, so like platonic like?

• 16:40Speaker 03

Yes, he's my neighbor, he's my friend, you know, like he gave me, he gave me my, my, my membership card for being in the neighborhood. All this stuff, like we talk every single time last time I was there and, and apparently I heard he's, he's hit or miss and he's not nice to everyone.

• 16:56Brooke Averick?

  Ooh.

• 16:57Speaker 03

Everyone has told, like two or three people have told me that. And he like smiled, like sees me all the time. And he asked about my arm, the, the scrape on my arm.

• 17:06Brooke Averick?

  Is that the gash?

• 17:08Speaker 03

The gash, which is, it's like.

• 17:10Brooke Averick?

Still, it's scarred pretty intensely, you needed stitches.

• 17:14Speaker 03

  Yeah, uh, I needed stitches.

• 17:15Brooke Averick?

Ooh, my mouth just started watering.

• 17:18Speaker 03

  You hungry?

• 17:19Brooke Averick?

No, like in a, in a, in a sick.

• 17:21Speaker 03

Oh, it's okay, I'm okay. Tate McCray. But I, uh, yeah, he, he asked me on my arm last time and so I went in and I was ordering coffee and I go, look, my arm's better. And he goes, he goes, what? I go, my arm, uh, is healed, it's, and he goes,

• 17:43Speaker 03

nice, it's gonna be six, six dollars fifteen cents. There's, mind you, there's a line of people behind me and I just have announced it, like my, my arm's better. And he just told me my total. He told me my total and essentially said, go directly outside. I don't, and make sure the crosswalk is saying stop and I want you to walk. I want, I want, I want you to get hit.

• 18:07Brooke Averick?

  That's really tough.

• 18:09Speaker 03

So I don't think I can go back. That was like,

• 18:11Brooke Averick?

  Ugh.

• 18:13Speaker 03

It was really, really, really, really, really, really. It was like going in and be like, I'll just get my regular please and then being like, who are you? It was, it was so... My mouth was watering in the front of the line there. I waited so, I waited so long. I was so looking forward to like, I've been gone for a while. Like, hey, my arm's better. He's like, go fuck yourself. Why would I care?

• 18:34Brooke Averick?

How long passed between you showing him your arm initially and my arm's better?

• 18:39Speaker 03

Well, it's, it's been, like, how long has my arm been scraped? Like, a month? And it was still bad like two weeks ago.

• 18:45Brooke Averick?

When, at what stage in the healing process did you first show him your arm?

• 18:49Speaker 03

  I didn't, I didn't,

• 18:50Brooke Averick?

  You didn't show him?

• 18:51Speaker 03

  He asked.

• 18:51Brooke Averick?

At what point did he ask? Like, right after?

• 18:55Speaker 03

Two weeks ago? No, two weeks ago.

• 18:57Brooke Averick?

  Two weeks?

• 18:58Speaker 03

Yeah, I've got a really unique look. I've got a lot of doppelgangers. Like, he couldn't remember my arm?

• 19:03Brooke Averick?

No, yeah, no, you're recognizable. There's no excuse.

• 19:06Speaker 03

Do I not, do I not have a, do I not have a memorable gash? Like, I, I thought that we had something there, that we were gash boys and like, all of a sudden, Sorry.

• 19:14Brooke Averick?

Would you rather him have had no idea what you're talking about? Or him just not care?

• 19:22Speaker 03

I guess no idea feels better, but it was a combo of like not caring and

• 19:28Speaker 03

  not remembering.

• 19:30Brooke Averick?

  I'm sorry.

• 19:31Speaker 03

No, I, I had to tell myself walking out. I was like, I hope he has a twin. Like, I just really hope that, like, there's another guy

• 19:38Brooke Averick?

Maybe it's just like when it's just you two alone, that he feels like he can...

• 19:43Speaker 03

Oh, Brooke, maybe, oh, Brooke, maybe he can't give up this, like, tough facade.

• 19:50Brooke Averick?

  Yes.

• 19:50Speaker 03

Because he's not nice to everyone.

• 19:51Brooke Averick?

Yes. He doesn't want anyone getting the wrong idea. He doesn't want anyone thinking they can just show him their arm injuries.

• 19:57Speaker 03

Oh my God, you're right. No, that's what it was. And I, you know what? He was trying to tell me, six, four, I need to look up the number six, I need to look up my, I need to check my credit cards, see what the total was.

• 20:07Brooke Averick?

See what that passage in the Bible is.

• 20:09Speaker 03

I'm gonna look up that passage in the Bible and it's,

• 20:12Brooke Averick?

  It's a message.

• 20:14Speaker 03

It was, I need to remember, I need to figure out his name because it's probably like,

• 20:19Brooke Averick?

  Luke.

• 20:19Speaker 03

For God, for God so loved the world. And he meant like, for I so love you and your gash.

• 20:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 20:25Speaker 03

That I give you your coffee for full price.

• 20:27Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And you know, that's a really good trope in romance novels, like the grump, grumpy ex sunshine.

• 20:34Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 20:35Brooke Averick?

Like he's the grump and like, but he's only nice to you.

• 20:40Speaker 03

Let me break down your wall.

• 20:42Brooke Averick?

Yeah. It's like the love hypothesis.

• 20:45Speaker 00

This episode is brought to you by State Farm. Football has a play for just about everything. You can go deep, keep it on the ground, or draw up something nobody sees coming. And whether you want to run a flea flicker or the tush push, you need a plan to fit your unique situation. That's why State Farm takes the time to get to know you so they can help personalize coverage for your life and budget. Now that's a solid game plan. Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.

• 21:13Speaker 01

Coca-Cola. For the big, for the small, the short, and the tall. Peacemakers, risk takers. For the optimists, pessimists. For long distance love. For introverts and extroverts. The thinkers and the doers. For old friends and new. Coca-Cola. For everyone. Pick up some Coca-Cola at a store near you.

• 21:43Speaker 03

  Now, what is that?

• 21:44Brooke Averick?

That's one of, that's my favorite romance novel, I think, Connor.

• 21:47Speaker 03

  Tell me about it.

• 21:48Brooke Averick?

I told you about that. That was the first one I read where the people were kissing on the front. And I was like, I'm not going to like this. And then I was like kicking my feet like so bad.

• 21:56Speaker 03

  The love hypothesis?

• 21:57Brooke Averick?

Yeah. And he's, it's becoming a movie. And he's very grumpy, but only has, only is nice to one woman.

• 22:07Speaker 03

I love that. And I love that the word hypothesis. And I'll never forget.

• 22:11Brooke Averick?

So it's by Ali Hazelwood and she's a scientist and she wrote this as a Star Wars fan fiction. Like while she's working in a lab. And then the book is about to, a PhD candidate and a professor.

• 22:29Brooke Averick?

And now here it is. It was adapted into a, into a real book.

• 22:33Speaker 03

  That's why it's the hypothesis. I like, I also, I like that.

• 22:37Brooke Averick?

  That's a STEM romance.

• 22:40Speaker 03

I like that a hypothesis is, by definition, an educated guess. So this woman, who's a scientist, made a guess based on

• 22:54Speaker 03

  facts.

• 22:57Brooke Averick?

  Based off of prior knowledge.

• 23:01Speaker 03

Prior knowledge and then things that would, that would lead her in a direction to make an educated guess.

• 23:06Brooke Averick?

I don't remember what, how the hypothesis played into the storyline, if it did.

• 23:11Speaker 03

  What was her hypothesis?

• 23:12Brooke Averick?

I don't remember. I'm trying to think if there was a hypothesis. Oh, it's like each chapter started with a hypothesis. That's what happened. She was like, if, like, I like someone, then they will never like me back. Like, that's my hypothesis.

• 23:27Speaker 03

  I see.

• 23:28Brooke Averick?

And then the chapter is like, let's, let's prove her hypothesis, wrong or right.

• 23:31Speaker 03

  Okay.

• 23:32Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 23:33Speaker 03

  I see.

• 23:33Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I think, from my memory.

• 23:38Speaker 03

Well, I hope it worked, it worked out between those two.

• 23:41Brooke Averick?

  In a huge way.

• 23:43Speaker 03

  That's Bill Nye.

• 23:44Brooke Averick?

In a way that I was extremely comfortable with.

• 23:46Speaker 03

And Bill Nye, Ebenezer Schrooge, what's his name?

• 23:50Brooke Averick?

  Ebenezer Schrooge?

• 23:51Speaker 03

  Yep. What?

• 23:55Brooke Averick?

I remember, I am on the

• 23:58Brooke Averick?

some really not okay parts of TikTok.

• 24:02Speaker 03

  What do you mean?

• 24:03Brooke Averick?

It just reminded me of this person, Ebenezer.

• 24:06Speaker 03

  There's real people called Ebenezer?

• 24:08Brooke Averick?

That I've been, I keep getting, and I'm on Born Again Christian TikTok in a way that's like, not okay. It's like, not like, a positive experience of finding religion. It's like, whoo, like, very hard to watch. And then I'm all, so that, and then I'm on gay cruise cruising, not like boat cruise, but like gay cruising talk.

• 24:34Brooke Averick?

Does that make sense? It's a juxtaposition.

• 24:38Speaker 03

What do you mean? Oh, that's your two things that are on your app, Y P?

• 24:42Brooke Averick?

TikTok as well as gay cruising.

• 24:45Speaker 03

  Like a sexual thing?

• 24:48Brooke Averick?

Very much so. Like, it's this one guy, and it's both of these people, these individuals, I just keep getting their accounts. One is the born again Christian who's scaring the shit out of me, and one is this cruiser who often cruises Venice Beach, the airport, and public pools.

• 25:07Speaker 03

What are those videos? What is he posting?

• 25:11Speaker 03

What is he posting? And what's his account so I can avoid it?

• 25:13Brooke Averick?

I screen recorded my for you page the other day because it was literally just like, random video cruise gay cruiser, random video gay cruiser. Like, please just like, listen to the sound of my for you page, okay?

• 25:29Speaker 04

I didn't realize how I just swallowed Five Guys babies in me airport bath. I got to the train station four hours. I just got my face completely painted in the Lowe's bathroom by a married guy. So I just swallowed Five Guys babies at the top of this hill overlooking the perfect view.

• 25:48Speaker 03

What? He's tall, girly? Why'd you say he's?

• 25:52Brooke Averick?

It's like every other video. I just swallowed Five Guys babies at the Century City Mall.

• 25:59Speaker 03

The delivery is like, I'm trying the blooming onion at Outback Steakhouse tonight?

• 26:05Brooke Averick?

That's my whole, and then it's just like really like scary Jesus stuff as well.

• 26:10Speaker 03

Oh, talk about digital footprint. What does for work?

• 26:14Brooke Averick?

Another side, so I'm doing those two, and then two different older men who are fathers, and they are now dating their daughter's best friend.

• 26:27Brooke Averick?

I'm following two of those exact same storylines.

• 26:32Speaker 03

How, and they're just coming up organically on your?

• 26:35Brooke Averick?

Connor, that was my for you page that I just played you.

• 26:38Speaker 03

The algorithm is built on things that you interact and engage with.

• 26:41Brooke Averick?

  Oh, brick by brick.

• 26:42Speaker 03

Brick by brick. You are putting up that wall up.

• 26:45Brooke Averick?

Brick by brick. I have built this.

• 26:49Speaker 03

Well, you're just getting like, that's what's cool about you is like, you, you are, talk about an educated guess. Like, you are going to make a ton of hypotheses because you're learning so much on your FYP.

• 26:59Brooke Averick?

  I'm learning so much.

• 27:02Brooke Averick?

  I really hope to-

• 27:03Speaker 03

I just swallowed Five Guys kit.

• 27:04Brooke Averick?

  What?

• 27:05Speaker 03

That's gonna, that's my new, that's my new-

• 27:07Brooke Averick?

I just swallowed Five Guys babies while overlooking,

• 27:12Brooke Averick?

while overlooking the sunset at Griffith Observatory.

• 27:18Brooke Averick?

Wait, can I go to his profile specifically?

• 27:21Speaker 03

  Brooke, we're gonna get flagged.

• 27:23Brooke Averick?

  It's fine to get flagged.

• 27:26Brooke Averick?

Wait, what's his name? Oh my god, it's Connor.

• 27:29Speaker 03

  No! Found my burner, Brooke.

• 27:35Speaker 03

You, you found my Hannah burner?

• 27:36Brooke Averick?

I'm just gonna scroll through for a second.

• 27:38Speaker 04

Grindr's completely dead to me. I just love to cruise. I wear these-

• 27:42Speaker 03

My favorite place to cruise in the gym is the gym showers.

• 27:44Speaker 04

My hole is completely throbbing because I just took Five Guys in this hot tub. I've been missing the bathhouses in Berlin so much that I just, I just got bent over by three married guys while cruising. I just topped a gymnast in this gymnastics center for the first time. So, like everyone else in 7th grade, I tried to give myself the self-suck. Now-

• 28:04Speaker 00

Brooke, it's so good to see you.

• 28:05Speaker 04

I just go with three guys from Grindr in the bathrooms during my layover. I just had the best cruising experience of, I just got bent over by five very sexy men. Insane. I love Santa Monica, you guys. It's so easy to find a guy to cruise. Hey. I just got my boyfriend to do me.

• 28:24Brooke Averick?

  Oh, I love him.

• 28:26Speaker 03

I have tears in my eyes.

• 28:27Brooke Averick?

And he, we could find him at Venice Beach.

• 28:32Speaker 03

  Oh.

• 28:34Speaker 03

  God.

• 28:38Speaker 03

  Oh, I'm, my, I'm sweating.

• 28:40Brooke Averick?

Come with me to Din Tai Fung. Like, it's like this same-

• 28:44Brooke Averick?

Oh, I love him, I really do. And I am the person that sends like 50 TikToks to my friends and no one ever opens them. And no, I've been sending them to everyone and no one cares. And it's, I'm so happy that you care.

• 28:58Speaker 03

  It's funny.

• 28:59Brooke Averick?

  It's funny.

• 29:00Speaker 03

That's incredible. And that's a content creator that is just like-

• 29:02Brooke Averick?

  It's my favorite content creator.

• 29:04Speaker 03

  What do you think?

• 29:06Brooke Averick?

And it's not like he has a following.

• 29:08Speaker 03

  There is no following?

• 29:09Brooke Averick?

  He has 10,000 followers.

• 29:12Speaker 03

Ten, telling 10,000 people that you're- Your, your hole is throbbing is-

• 29:18Brooke Averick?

Throbbing Five Guys in the hot tub.

• 29:21Speaker 03

He's busy. I, I, do you think he has a job?

• 29:25Brooke Averick?

I can't tell if he's like a comedian or not. Like, obviously, he's a comedian. But I can't tell if he's, if this is how serious this is. He's also like a pretty good looking guy, which like, you can be hot and cruise, of course, but I'm just like, you, you almost don't need to.

• 29:41Speaker 03

Two, two truths can be, you can hold both.

• 29:45Brooke Averick?

  Ah, exactly. Two truths.

• 29:49Speaker 03

Five truths can, can be swallowed as well.

• 29:52Brooke Averick?

  All at the same time.

• 29:53Speaker 03

Even if they're a tough nut to swallow, you can still, you can do it.

• 29:57Brooke Averick?

Yeah. I just was thinking about my ancestors the other day.

• 30:01Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 30:01Brooke Averick?

Cause I was like in bed, like lights off and like, if like, let's say my ancestor was like pressing their ear to my door. Like, all they would hear was, I just swallowed five guys.

• 30:19Brooke Averick?

Ah, this is what they came to America for. It really is.

• 30:22Speaker 03

  Wow. Wow.

• 30:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 30:27Brooke Averick?

  Awesome.

• 30:29Speaker 03

Where do you, where, where, where does one go from here?

• 30:34Brooke Averick?

I feel like there's a, a lot of different places that we could go.

• 30:37Speaker 03

I would like to talk about Sydney Sweeney.

• 30:39Brooke Averick?

  I would too.

• 30:41Speaker 03

Now, what are your thoughts? And then, and then I'll hop in.

• 30:44Brooke Averick?

Should we, do you think everyone like knows or should we give just like a very small?

• 30:48Speaker 03

Go ahead. Go ahead and do it.

• 30:50Brooke Averick?

It's just she did an ad for American Eagle.

• 30:53Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 30:53Brooke Averick?

Where it was like very overly sexualized. The focus was on her genes. But like play on the word genes, like G E N E S. And it's, a lot of people are saying it's actually not an ad for like denim. It's an ad for eugenics.

• 31:10Brooke Averick?

And the way she's speaking, the isolated vocals, do you want to try to give those a go?

• 31:17Speaker 03

Genes are passed down from parents to offspring.

• 31:21Brooke Averick?

More of a slur. Like Jen, like she's not saying the word right.

• 31:27Speaker 03

Genes are passed down from parents to offspring.

• 31:31Brooke Averick?

Genes are pa, like, gen, genes are passed, it's like they're not. It's like vocal fry. It's a fry and the word, genes are passed down from.

• 31:38Speaker 03

Genes are passed out from parents to offspring. It's, it's like. It's hard to explain, and I have a hot, steamy thing.

• 31:49Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 31:50Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 31:51Brooke Averick?

  What is it?

• 31:52Speaker 03

  Like, one, obviously, like, one,

• 31:56Speaker 03

like, the easy one is like, what the fuck is this?

• 31:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 32:00Speaker 03

But the tough one is, I think Sydney Sweeney should narrate, like, a Nat Geo Planet Earth-style, long-form thing and be like, "The weary penguin has been traveling for six weeks. It's starving, jumping iceberg to iceberg, narrowly avoiding the hungry, wet lips of a leopard seal."

• 32:24Brooke Averick?

I don't think anyone would fight you on that.

• 32:26Speaker 03

I think that'd be fun to watch.

• 32:29Brooke Averick?

  I agree.

• 32:30Speaker 03

  Now, the other side of-

• 32:31Brooke Averick?

Like, completely, like, this has been entertainment. Like, every single TikTok with the sound of the ad makes me laugh, because it's that ridiculous.

• 32:42Speaker 03

So funny, like, they're like, me, me in the, in the girl's bathroom, like, interacting with the, the drunkest girl at the bar.

• 32:51Brooke Averick?

Yeah, a lot of popcorn reading.

• 32:53Speaker 03

  Jeans are pat down from-

• 32:54Brooke Averick?

  A lot of popcorn reading.

• 32:56Speaker 03

  Me calling up-

• 32:58Brooke Averick?

Yeah, the ad is like a, like, I don't know how that got approved in general, but from American Eagle, who, like, I love, and, like, I've worked with them, and I just think they have, like, such a great, like, take on body positivity, and just, like, feeling good in your own skin. I'm very confused how they went from that to eugenics, like, so quick.

• 33:22Speaker 03

I really think that it's like, it was just overlooked, the jeans thing, and then-

• 33:28Brooke Averick?

  There's no way.

• 33:30Speaker 03

Because they probably were like, what rhymes with denim? But, and they were like- Clinton, like, they're nothing, nothing. Oh, jeans, jeans, eureka. They probably sat in that room for so long and they were like, boom, we got something. It's due tomorrow anyways. Just turn it in. And people are like, okay, approved, approved, approved, approved. They didn't look into, let's get blonde hair, blue eye.

• 33:51Brooke Averick?

Well, even like beside that, just like the zoom in on like her boobs and butt and being like, she's the best jeans. I'm just like,

• 33:57Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 33:58Brooke Averick?

But like y'all also like, yesterday posted a campaign of like every different body being beautiful. So I'm just a little confused. And like a whole lot confused.

• 34:09Speaker 03

The play on words definite oversight.

• 34:12Brooke Averick?

I don't think it was an oversight.

• 34:14Speaker 03

You think that that was an intentional, there's like,

• 34:16Brooke Averick?

I think that it was intentional and they were like, this will get people talking, but I don't think they realize how bad, like, I think they didn't realize like, that it would go to like a eugenics conversation.

• 34:27Speaker 03

  100%.

• 34:28Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 34:29Speaker 03

It has, and now it's doing this, that thing that happens all the time where some people are like, I'm buying it because it's pissing other people off.

• 34:37Brooke Averick?

Oh, I think that. I've seen most people being like, well, I've always liked Abercrombie better anyway. And just like shocking there. And their stock has risen.

• 34:45Speaker 03

Well, there's a, there's a, like, group of people that always do this where like, as soon as it pisses people off, they're like, I'm going to support this. Which is funny because like probably, and Brett Newsom brought this up in his, in his video.

• 34:57Brooke Averick?

Brett's fake ad was so funny.

• 34:59Speaker 03

It was so unbelievable, but uh,

• 35:04Speaker 03

he said like, oh, like there's a, there's a group of people that would have been calling Sydney Sweeney a hussy yesterday. And then today they're like, wait, I support her. Like she, this is good. You know, like she does have the best jeans. Like, uh, did you see his story when he said that?

• 35:17Brooke Averick?

No, I also didn't, haven't seen anyone supporting her.

• 35:22Speaker 03

Oh yeah. Well, I'm, it's, it's the same, it's the same group of people every time.

• 35:25Brooke Averick?

Truly like, I, most of the fault here falls on like the American eagle, ad team, which, somebody went in and like looked at everybody that, uh, was on the ad team. And it was just like all old white people.

• 35:39Speaker 03

  Right.

• 35:41Brooke Averick?

  Right.

• 35:41Speaker 03

But it had, it had to go through like so many hands to have this.

• 35:45Brooke Averick?

  It is wild.

• 35:46Speaker 03

It, I mean, it, people are talking about it. The, the saying all press is good press has, is no longer true, I fear.

• 35:54Brooke Averick?

  Has it ever been?

• 35:58Speaker 03

  Wait, what did I say?

• 36:00Brooke Averick?

All press is good press. It's not true anymore.

• 36:05Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 36:06Brooke Averick?

Did you think it was true? I go back and forth.

• 36:10Speaker 03

I think if you're able to handle

• 36:12Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 36:13Speaker 03

negative press in a positive way, it all press is truly good press. Like if you're like, I don't care, keep talking, I'm gonna keep See, if I get one bad comment, I'm like, oh, I'll just, it's okay if I'm gonna disappear and they don't even have to find my body. It's fine. Like, I'm, I'm out of here. Which I did get one bad comment last week and I posted on my close friends. Did you see it?

• 36:33Brooke Averick?

  Which one?

• 36:35Speaker 03

The young woman I commented on Tyler Cameron's Instagram, his reel. And I said, ha, ha, ha. Like, this is hilarious. And this girl commented, can you talk about something substantial besides the dentist on the podcast, please?

• 36:47Brooke Averick?

  I did see that.

• 36:49Speaker 03

And I said, I don't really have anything else going on.

• 36:50Brooke Averick?

Well, you were funny because you said, anyway, we could do this outside of Tyler Cameron's comment section.

• 36:54Speaker 03

Yeah, why are we doing this here?

• 36:56Brooke Averick?

Yeah. We haven't mentioned the dentist once.

• 37:00Speaker 03

I can't remember the last time I mentioned the dentist. I did have a, I, it's been a second, right?

• 37:06Brooke Averick?

I don't think you mentioned, we didn't, you definitely didn't mention it this week.

• 37:10Speaker 03

Dentist, dentist, dentist. I blocked her anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

• 37:13Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 37:13Speaker 03

  But, um,

• 37:16Speaker 03

yeah, oversight by the, or maybe intentional decision by the American Eagle team. I don't know.

• 37:20Brooke Averick?

Just to say, I'm looking forward to seeing how it plays out.

• 37:23Speaker 03

Me too. What do you, do you think, do you think, prediction time? Do you think they'll overcorrect? Do you think they'll apologize? Or do you think they'll stay the course because they 100% filmed several rounds of content with Sydney Sweeney for this campaign?

• 37:39Brooke Averick?

  No, they'll, they'll make a statement.

• 37:42Speaker 03

  They'll make a statement?

• 37:43Brooke Averick?

Yeah, and they won't continue. They deleted some of them, right?

• 37:47Speaker 03

I didn't keep up. I only saw the original.

• 37:49Brooke Averick?

Let me see what they posted last.

• 37:53Brooke Averick?

  Sydney Sweeney deleted them.

• 37:57Brooke Averick?

They still have her pictures and her

• 38:02Speaker 03

  I can't believe, one thing, here's, here's, here's one thing. Okay.

• 38:06Brooke Averick?

They still have all them up.

• 38:07Speaker 03

You can say, you can say it wasn't an oversight by American Eagle to make this specific campaign. You can't say Sydney Sweeney, A-list celebrity doesn't have a PR team that would be like, is this weird? It was an oversight by her team, I think. But she is

• 38:22Brooke Averick?

Well, also, her team was the same team that was like, let's sell a soap that has some of your bathwater in it.

• 38:29Speaker 03

Yeah, which is, I don't, like, I think that's bizarre, but I don't think it's like a statement that has anything further than "I'm gonna fuck this bar of soap," you know, like, I think it's just like an oversight by her team. This is like a really crazy thing to have been involved with.

• 38:48Brooke Averick?

I just like, I just don't understand what the, uh, what she's doing in any capacity.

• 38:54Speaker 03

She's getting, she's Sydney Get a Bag Sweeney, like, she's just not saying no to any campaigns.

• 39:00Brooke Averick?

It's really something. But she was also the one that went on something and was like, "Actors make no money. I have no money." Remember that?

• 39:09Speaker 03

Yeah, I do. That's really funny, but like, yeah, that's crazy.

• 39:14Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 39:17Brooke Averick?

We'll keep our eye on it.

• 39:18Speaker 03

Yeah. I'm actually excited to see what they do. And you think American Eagle's gonna make a statement?

• 39:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, they haven't posted in like three days.

• 39:28Speaker 03

Their engagement's probably through the damn roof.

• 39:31Brooke Averick?

  Let me see.

• 39:31Speaker 03

Or like, the, the, what, what's it called? SEO?

• 39:37Brooke Averick?

  What's SEO?

• 39:39Speaker 03

Search Engine Optimization. I bet like American Eagle, the word "American Eagle" and "Sydney Sweeney" are both trending right now. That's like, "All press is good press" type thing, but I don't know.

• 39:50Brooke Averick?

Oh, yeah, they kept their comments on too.

• 39:54Speaker 03

How many comments? Read some of them.

• 39:56Brooke Averick?

Um, well, these are all, like, they posted 18,000 things with Sydney Sweeney. I can't even tell, like, what they kept and what they didn't. "Switching back to Levi's, this whole campaign is grossly miscalculated. Curious who this campaign is supposed to resonate with because it's not your core customers.

• 40:14Brooke Averick?

I've been wearing nothing but A- jeans for 15-plus years, but this campaign is so off, I'll find other jeans. Confused, who's your target audience? Can't wait for my order."

• 40:26Brooke Averick?

I'm headed to AE to buy as many jeans as I can.

• 40:29Speaker 03

See, that's, that's the people that I was talking about.

• 40:31Brooke Averick?

Running to Abercrombie. So hot. American flags.

• 40:37Speaker 03

See, like, that's what I'm talking about. Brooke, can you imagine pulling your phone out?

• 40:44Speaker 03

And commenting on American Eagles Instagram post? Can't wait for my order.

• 40:49Brooke Averick?

I'm sure I've done that before.

• 40:51Speaker 03

Could you imagine pulling out your phone? Seeing that ad and typing? So hot.

• 40:56Brooke Averick?

  So hot. American flag.

• 40:59Speaker 03

  I am so horny.

• 41:02Speaker 03

I just swallowed Five Guys Kids in the bathroom. It didn't type fun.

• 41:05Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 41:07Speaker 00

  Oh, okay.

• 42:38Speaker 03

  Bless his, bless his heart.

• 42:39Brooke Averick?

Bless his heart. That's who should be doing The American Eagle. That's who should be the voice of the American people and The American Eagle. That's my American Idol.

• 42:47Speaker 03

What's Eben, so Eben Ezer was the born again Christian, right? We just like skipped right past him.

• 42:51Brooke Averick?

Yes, yes, yes. I hon, like I don't even want to like speak about what he is preaching because it's like very scary, but I can't look away.

• 43:02Brooke Averick?

You want to hear the two movies I watched this week?

• 43:05Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 43:05Brooke Averick?

I'm back in my like watching a movie before bed era.

• 43:09Speaker 03

Ditto. TV in the room, game changer.

• 43:11Brooke Averick?

Well, I'm doing it on the couch.

• 43:15Brooke Averick?

I need you to come over and vacuum.

• 43:17Speaker 03

  You need to get.

• 43:18Brooke Averick?

I have the shark, but it's like not, I'm, I'm confused, like, it's like giving me resistance.

• 43:25Speaker 03

  Because it changes modes.

• 43:26Brooke Averick?

What? I don't know how to work it. I threw away the manual.

• 43:29Speaker 03

You don't have to do anything. It's, it's automatic. It's automatic.

• 43:31Brooke Averick?

  Well, it's giving me resistance.

• 43:33Speaker 03

It's my favorite thing to do in the world. I, I like intentionally like dump shit on the ground so I can vacuum. I love vacuuming.

• 43:41Brooke Averick?

I thought you said I intentionally don't shit on the ground. And I was like, yeah.

• 43:47Speaker 03

  I try not to.

• 43:50Brooke Averick?

I, it's just giving me resistance. That's all I can say.

• 43:54Speaker 03

Brooke, the most important thing to do.

• 43:56Brooke Averick?

I don't have any upper body strength.

• 43:57Speaker 03

When you are receiving resistance is to push through.

• 44:01Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, I'm trying.

• 44:03Speaker 03

Can I say something really quick before we get into movies? Because this is like just a statement.

• 44:08Speaker 03

I had a call with a personal trainer today.

• 44:10Brooke Averick?

I was just thinking I'm going to get a personal trainer.

• 44:13Speaker 03

I am going to get one just to get, because, because I'm on the road, I'm going to be on the road again. I'm going to Denver. See you in Denver in 10 days, um, for the last leg of tour.

• 44:28Speaker 03

  I'll be there.

• 44:28Brooke Averick?

It's been the last leg of tour for two years.

• 44:31Speaker 03

Yeah, I know. I keep, I am surprised as well, but, um. But I'm really excited as well, too, also. But I had to call the personal trainer so I can get in shape in between when I'm here, work out a couple of times a week. He calls and goes, "What's your goals?" I was like, "I just, I don't know." And he's like, "You want to get stronger?" And I go, "No, I don't care." Like, "If you could put biceps and a back just right into my body for me, that's all I really want." And he goes, "You just want to look better?" And I go, "100%." He goes, "Oh." I was like, "What is our... Do you think I want to do... Like, I'm not training for anything. I don't need to be stronger."

• 45:13Brooke Averick?

I would like to be able to push my vacuum.

• 45:16Speaker 03

See, that's what it reminded me of. Like, that's a good goal to have and it's accessible. I don't have any... I don't need to lift any. If something was really heavy, I'd give up. That's not for me.

• 45:28Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 45:28Speaker 03

That's not part of my plan, is to lift. My goal, like when my mattress was being moved, you get movers over.

• 45:35Brooke Averick?

  Right. No, I don't...

• 45:38Speaker 03

  That's God's plan for them.

• 45:39Brooke Averick?

I don't need any sort of strength, per se, except for just that, like, I would like a little bit.

• 45:46Speaker 03

  To push the vacuum.

• 45:47Brooke Averick?

  Exactly.

• 45:48Speaker 03

  Okay, what movies?

• 45:50Brooke Averick?

Well, on Monday, I watched Phantom of the Opera for the first time, which is one that I've been... Like, literally, everyone's been like, "You just have to watch Phantom of the Opera for like 10 years." Because it's just like romance and Andrew Lloyd Webber, like, music. It's a musical.

• 46:10Speaker 03

Can I tell you what I think Phantom of the Opera is about?

• 46:12Brooke Averick?

Yes, because I also didn't really know.

• 46:14Speaker 03

So there's this ghost, and he loves to sing. He has a song stuck in his head. And the only way that he is able to do this is to perform at the gala. But he can't get invited to the gala because um his ex-wife before he passed away is is still holding on to his soul. And he meets her at the dance and he has a physical body at this point and this is their one chance to reconnect. So he's able to sing his song and move past purgatory into the afterlife.

• 46:51Brooke Averick?

You've been like creating some really wonderful worlds recently.

• 46:55Speaker 03

  Really?

• 46:56Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 46:57Speaker 03

My mom always said it was partially artistic.

• 47:00Brooke Averick?

I think that you like you could write something Connor.

• 47:03Speaker 03

  Really?

• 47:05Brooke Averick?

You've been doing a lot of creative storytelling recently.

• 47:07Speaker 03

  Oh my gosh, I have.

• 47:08Brooke Averick?

Between the story that you developed with the barista, Phantom of the Opera.

• 47:13Speaker 03

  Oh yeah.

• 47:14Brooke Averick?

You did some fanfiction a few weeks ago.

• 47:17Speaker 03

  I know, Help Me Write.

• 47:18Brooke Averick?

Okay. I'm not good at, I can't make shit up like that. My like, I'm like, kind of more grounded in the, in the real world. You just did fantsoms and shit.

• 47:28Speaker 03

When my, when my pen hits pa- hits paper.

• 47:31Brooke Averick?

When my pen, when pen hits paper?

• 47:33Speaker 03

When pen hits paper? It seems to all fade away.

• 47:38Brooke Averick?

Yeah, I'd like to see what will happen when your pen hit paper.

• 47:41Speaker 03

  When pen hit paper. Hey.

• 47:46Brooke Averick?

So watch Phantom of the Opera.

• 47:49Speaker 03

  Yeah, wait, so.

• 47:50Brooke Averick?

Okay, also, I was confused right off the bat because this movie for my, I'm watching this again, uh, a little bit high. Okay. I look, I look at this movie, they say, okay, this was filmed in 1890 and yet Fiona from Shameless is in it. Gerard Butler is in it. The guy from The Conjuring is in it. Help me make sense of that timeline.

• 48:18Brooke Averick?

Filmed in 2004, which I was like, well, how? That wasn't making sense to me right off the bat.

• 48:24Brooke Averick?

Izzy, you like Phantom of the Opera? I love Phantom of the Opera. What am I missing? Like, I thought it was gonna be like a romance between Emmy Rossum, Fiona from Shameless, and the Phantom. I was looking forward to that romance. He was scary. Yeah. And there was not, there was only a kind of like a one-sided weird romance in between them. And the romance between her and the guy from The Conjuring wasn't really very compelling. And the music, like, I love, Andrew Lloyd Webber did the music for like Sunset Boulevard and Cats and like the composition of it. So like, not the lyrics. So I love like his music, but the lyrics that went with the songs were just like people talking to music, which I don't like when they do that.

• 49:08Brooke Averick?

It's like, what did you have for breakfast today? Like, that kind of stuff?

• 49:12Speaker 03

Weird, that, Brooke, that is what, that's what I hear when I listen to Hamilton.

• 49:16Brooke Averick?

I know, but that's not what Hamilton is. But this to me was like they were just having a conversation to the tune of music, which I don't like. So, I didn't like the music really. I liked, like, the Phantom of the Phantom. I like that, because it's creepy.

• 49:29Speaker 03

Can you hear that note one more time for me?

• 49:31Brooke Averick?

The Phantom of the Opera's in your mind. I like that.

• 49:35Speaker 03

Wait, is he, I guess, I'm not gonna watch it.

• 49:39Brooke Averick?

He just lives in the opera house and like, basically, he, there's a man that lives in the opera house that

• 49:45Speaker 03

  Okay, I got that.

• 49:46Brooke Averick?

He's like doing a lot of hijinks, but like in a

• 49:48Speaker 03

  What?

• 49:49Brooke Averick?

Very scary way and like haunting the opera. But he has developed a really strong relationship with this one young woman, Emmy Rossum, Christine, who, he's been giving like voice lessons to, and she thinks that he's an angel that like her father, her dead father, had sent. So she's like, I love this guy, but like, he's like also haunting the opera and then he's like madly in love with her. And then he keeps stealing her, he lives in the basement of the opera, he keeps stealing her via boat. Like, where did we get, why is there a boat in the bottom of the opera house?

• 50:23Speaker 03

He's a ten, but he haunts the opera.

• 50:25Brooke Averick?

That's, that's what, I'm confused, like, that would have been fine. Like, I was expecting to be like wanting the Phantom in a pretty big way, which is what I was excited for. But that's not the case. He's scary and creepy and

• 50:42Brooke Averick?

I don't want to give it away, but like, it's not good. Izzy, what did you, like, what's your take?

• 50:49Speaker 06

I think I watched it when I was like, pretty young.

• 50:51Brooke Averick?

I think it's maybe one of those movies that you watch when you're young and you're like, whoa.

• 50:55Speaker 06

And I used to watch it a lot when I was a kid and I haven't watched in a while, so.

• 50:59Brooke Averick?

  I was like.

• 51:00Speaker 06

  I could understand that.

• 51:00Brooke Averick?

I maybe I was just not in the headspace, but I was not, uh, I wasn't resonating with it like people said I would in any capacity. So. But in the bonus, I want to play the Phantom of the Opera song because it's so creepy. You can feel it in your veins.

• 51:14Speaker 03

  Really?

• 51:15Brooke Averick?

Yeah. It's like, nah, you've heard it.

• 51:20Speaker 03

  Oh, I've heard it.

• 51:20Brooke Averick?

  Nah, nah, nah, nah, right?

• 51:22Speaker 03

Yeah, you nailed it right there.

• 51:24Brooke Averick?

  And then.

• 51:24Speaker 03

  Because you even got me.

• 51:25Brooke Averick?

Yeah, it's like, whoa, so we can do that.

• 51:29Speaker 03

  That's exciting.

• 51:30Brooke Averick?

But. Then yet last night I watched Princess Bride. You've seen that, yes?

• 51:36Speaker 03

That's one of my, that's, that's me and my dad's favorite movie.

• 51:39Brooke Averick?

That's one, a movie that I share with my father as well.

• 51:43Speaker 03

It is so like. Father's favorite movie, but.

• 51:46Brooke Averick?

It is so father's favorite movie coded.

• 51:49Speaker 03

Inconceivable. It's like one of the best. Best, it's timeless. It is timeless.

• 51:55Brooke Averick?

Connor, to say it held up is an understatement.

• 51:58Speaker 03

Brooke, I am watching it tonight.

• 52:01Brooke Averick?

  It was.

• 52:01Speaker 03

  Plans?

• 52:02Brooke Averick?

I mean. My name is Inigo Montoya.

• 52:06Speaker 03

  Oh, Brooke. Well done.

• 52:08Brooke Averick?

  Thanks. It's just.

• 52:10Speaker 03

  I'm, I'm, I'm watching it tonight.

• 52:11Brooke Averick?

You know, that's Mandy Patinkin, right?

• 52:13Speaker 03

  Brooke. Yes.

• 52:15Brooke Averick?

Okay. You know, Mandy Patinkin is in the first two seasons of Criminal Minds, right?

• 52:19Speaker 03

I know Mandy when I see him.

• 52:20Brooke Averick?

  Okay.

• 52:22Speaker 03

  Um.

• 52:22Brooke Averick?

Mandy is one of those people that. I feel his soul through the screen. I always have.

• 52:29Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 52:29Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:31Speaker 03

  Man, uh.

• 52:34Speaker 03

  Yeah. Yeah, no, that's.

• 52:37Brooke Averick?

I mean, I can't wait for you to, what an incredible film.

• 52:40Speaker 03

  I'll, I'll live text you.

• 52:42Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:42Speaker 03

I'm gonna make, I'm gonna make some notes about it too. I'm really excited to do that. Oh, I got, come in like giddy for tonight.

• 52:47Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 52:47Speaker 03

Can't wait for the day to be over.

• 52:49Brooke Averick?

  Have a can.

• 52:50Speaker 03

I'll have a can. I, I got two last night. The bodega next to my house buys them just for me.

• 52:55Brooke Averick?

Do you get the tall boys or the tiny boys?

• 52:58Speaker 03

They only have the tiny boys.

• 52:59Brooke Averick?

I haven't seen a tall boy can in a really long time.

• 53:01Speaker 03

I think, I fear that's an online situation.

• 53:03Brooke Averick?

That's what used to send me to high heavens.

• 53:06Speaker 03

Well, sometimes I have two small ones.

• 53:08Brooke Averick?

Doesn't do the same thing. It's less, two small ones is less than a tall boy. You would have to have three, but it takes much longer and so it doesn't, it's just, nothing is the same as a tall boy. Unless you put maybe three in the same glass.

• 53:22Speaker 03

Well, um, my place sells the little packets of it too, that you can put in your, you can, you can DIY it.

• 53:29Brooke Averick?

Did I ever tell you when me, Megan and my friend Jen?

• 53:34Speaker 03

  Megan and my friend Jen?

• 53:36Brooke Averick?

  Yep.

• 53:38Brooke Averick?

We had like chugged cans because we had to go to a sushi, to go eat sushi, cause sushi, you know sushi fumi opens at 5:30. We had to be there on time. So we had to chug our cans at a high velocity and it was the tall boys. And I think it was the second tall boy. And we were all like.

• 53:56Speaker 03

  What?

• 53:56Brooke Averick?

Yeah. It was pretty crazy. And we left the house, got to sushi fumi, it was full. So we were like, okay, we're gonna go somewhere else. By the time we sat down at the second venue, after chugging the tall, the second tall boys,

• 54:13Brooke Averick?

the thought of ordering, it wasn't a possibility. So we ended up, the only thing that we could muster, we ordered a cucumber roll for the table.

• 54:26Speaker 03

  Yum.

• 54:27Brooke Averick?

Only thing we could get out.

• 54:30Brooke Averick?

That was our, that was our dinner.

• 54:31Speaker 03

Isn't that cream cheese and cucumber and rice?

• 54:33Brooke Averick?

It was just a cucumber for now.

• 54:36Speaker 03

  It's cucumber and rice?

• 54:37Brooke Averick?

  Cucumber and rice and seaweed.

• 54:39Speaker 03

What if they just put a cucumber out on a, a plate and they're like, it's already in the.

• 54:42Brooke Averick?

And that's cause that's the only, if, if I had tried to, I could, I didn't even order it. It was, uh, Megan actually was the one who had to do it. But yeah, one cucumber roll split between the three of us and that's the best we could do. And obviously we're starving, considering.

• 54:58Speaker 03

  That's funny.

• 54:59Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 55:01Speaker 03

Just kind of like girls being girls.

• 55:03Brooke Averick?

  It's just girls being girls.

• 55:05Speaker 03

I love to hear it and I love to see it as well.

• 55:07Brooke Averick?

  Yeah, amazing.

• 55:09Speaker 03

All of my things from LA arrived. I moved in March. I want everyone to know that it is now, I moved on March 15th. It is on July 20th. All of my belongings are, have arrived and they're in my living room.

• 55:22Brooke Averick?

  From the storage unit?

• 55:23Speaker 03

From the storage unit. I long, I no longer have a storage unit.

• 55:26Brooke Averick?

How did you get them here?

• 55:29Speaker 03

I hired movers. Word to thee wise, all, if you're considering saving eight dollars by not hiring movers, please learn from my mistakes. Hire the movers.

• 55:45Brooke Averick?

I don't think anyone would have done what you did.

• 55:47Speaker 03

It also went missing for one whole month, the whole truck of my stuff.

• 55:51Brooke Averick?

  Oh, cool.

• 55:52Speaker 03

And the thing is, like, I don't even know what's in these boxes. One just says rocks. Like, that might, it's gonna be rocks, like, you know, it's gonna be rocks.

• 56:03Speaker 03

I mean, it'll be cool to have my, you know, like, when, you know, when you put away clothes and then you find a shirt and it's like, oh, I wore, I used to wear this all the time. It's my favorite shirt. I'm looking forward to that feeling. Cause I've been wearing kind of the same rotating thing of clothes, which is great.

• 56:22Brooke Averick?

I'm excited for you to have your belongings. I think that's the right thing to have.

• 56:26Speaker 03

Do you know what I'm most excited for?

• 56:28Brooke Averick?

  Huh?

• 56:29Speaker 03

I ordered from Amazon a, I think I talked about this a long time ago, a foot massager.

• 56:37Brooke Averick?

  Oh, yeah.

• 56:38Speaker 03

I am going to tear through these boxes like a raccoon and I'm gonna find that foot massager. I'm gonna plug it in and I'm gonna watch Princess Bride off of a can and I'm gonna, I'm gonna have some curry. I'm gonna have some curry.

• 56:51Brooke Averick?

  Oh, my god.

• 56:52Speaker 03

Some buttered chicken. Um, so all my stuff's here. That's my new project.

• 56:58Speaker 03

Should I, where are we? Can I talk about Idaho?

• 57:01Brooke Averick?

Yeah. Hey Connor, how was your weekend? How was your week?

• 57:05Speaker 03

  I was in Idaho, Brooke.

• 57:07Brooke Averick?

  Idaho looks beautiful.

• 57:08Speaker 03

That's my, that was my first non, non-work-associated trip in like over a year.

• 57:16Brooke Averick?

Good, I'm glad you got to just take a load off. My God.

• 57:20Speaker 03

Well, I was planning on kind of having it be a retreat and I could write and I could work on things. The way I truly lounged.

• 57:28Brooke Averick?

  I'd love that, I'm glad.

• 57:30Speaker 03

Would be described, I mean, I was, I was almost dead. It was so activity-based. Listen to all these, we played pickleball. We golfed. We swam, Brooke, I swam. I have a hole in my body. It's my swimming hole. And it is now full.

• 57:50Brooke Averick?

  That's amazing.

• 57:51Speaker 03

I've, I've filled my swimming hole. Brooke, I fell asleep by a babbling brook.

• 57:59Brooke Averick?

  That's amazing.

• 58:01Speaker 03

I fell asleep by a river with my, with my feet, toes, toes in the water, ass in the sand. To the sound of just, to the sounds.

• 58:12Brooke Averick?

  That sounds like heaven.

• 58:13Speaker 03

It was glorious, I was with Mimi, I was with Max all week. Max was in absolute heaven. We had such a good time, it was disgusting.

• 58:21Brooke Averick?

  Amazing.

• 58:22Speaker 03

It was my first time ever, ever, Brooke, ready? This is gonna be like, mic drop situation? The last day, I had been thinking about this, but didn't wanna say it out loud. We're sitting at dinner, it's me, me, my mom, Mimi, my dad, my sister. I say to them out loud, hey, I don't wanna jinx it, we haven't gotten in one fight. We didn't fight at all, it's the first time in my life.

• 58:46Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 58:46Speaker 03

No fights. Not a single fight.

• 58:51Speaker 03

  That's never happened.

• 58:52Brooke Averick?

And you still didn't get in a fight?

• 58:53Speaker 03

  No.

• 58:54Brooke Averick?

  Wow.

• 58:55Speaker 03

I'm sure my mom was about to just yell at me, so I was being a little bit annoying. So it's just like having, you know, when you, you kind of revert to being like eight years old when you're around your parents? I also, like, I was like, oh, my God, my, she packed, my mom packed a lunch for me every day, like for the hikes and stuff. And I was like, this is so insane that she just like did that, like, your lunch is in your back, but you packed me lunch?

• 59:21Brooke Averick?

  She's a great woman.

• 59:22Speaker 03

I mean, my, even though I was bloated, I did still feel gratitude.

• 59:26Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 59:27Speaker 03

  It was great.

• 59:27Brooke Averick?

And let me, let me de-bloat work.

• 59:31Speaker 03

  A little too well.

• 59:33Brooke Averick?

  Oh, yeah, let me fart.

• 59:35Speaker 03

  Let me fart.

• 59:37Brooke Averick?

Connor, I'm glad your trip was amazing.

• 59:39Speaker 03

Oh, it was so ama, like, I really, like, no, no, it's, it was fantastic.

• 59:46Speaker 03

Idaho is one of my favorite places on the planet. It is so magical. I have such an interesting story to tell, which I think, I don't even think I can tell it on the podcast. I'm gonna do it in between and then you tell me if I can.

• 59:57Brooke Averick?

  Really?

• 59:58Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 59:58Brooke Averick?

Maybe you could tell it on the bonus, should you get approval?

• 1:00:02Speaker 03

Should I get approval? Are we at the bonus already?

• 1:00:04Brooke Averick?

  Almost. I have two things.

• 1:00:08Speaker 03

  Hit me.

• 1:00:09Brooke Averick?

One, have you been seeing Justin Timberlake's concert videos?

• 1:00:14Speaker 03

I adore the way he moved.

• 1:00:16Brooke Averick?

I, well, have you, I've got.

• 1:00:19Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:00:19Brooke Averick?

  Inside my, he.

• 1:00:21Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:00:22Brooke Averick?

Oh, Connor, he's going, I've got this, mic out. Mic out, mic out for four. It goes electric, mic out for seven.

• 1:00:33Speaker 03

  No.

• 1:00:33Brooke Averick?

Connor, he's singing every other hundred words.

• 1:00:38Speaker 03

What, um, were people singing it back?

• 1:00:40Brooke Averick?

Yeah, but I, he sang probably three words total of that entire song.

• 1:00:45Speaker 03

  I.

• 1:00:45Brooke Averick?

And he's just walking across the stage, just like, mic, like, out, doing literally nothing.

• 1:00:55Speaker 03

  Not to.

• 1:00:55Brooke Averick?

  I've got this.

• 1:00:57Speaker 03

  Not, not to discredit the.

• 1:00:58Brooke Averick?

  Here, look.

• 1:01:02Speaker 03

  Go girl.

• 1:01:03Brooke Averick?

We can't do the music, sorry. We can.

• 1:01:04Speaker 03

  Oh, shoot.

• 1:01:06Brooke Averick?

But it is really, it's cracking me up.

• 1:01:10Speaker 03

Not to discredit the, the work of, of a musician like this, but if you're holding the mic out to the crowd, like,

• 1:01:21Speaker 03

you're just having someone else do your job.

• 1:01:23Brooke Averick?

No, Connor, and it, I don't like when musicians do it ever, but it's like one thing if it's like a few words per song, entire song, every song.

• 1:01:34Speaker 03

I mean, he could have just been sitting there and reading the book and played the.

• 1:01:37Brooke Averick?

  Connor?

• 1:01:37Speaker 03

  Backtrack.

• 1:01:38Brooke Averick?

I can't wait for you to see this. It's insane.

• 1:01:41Brooke Averick?

Also, I finished my book. In a way.

• 1:01:45Speaker 03

  Hold on.

• 1:01:47Brooke Averick?

  In a way.

• 1:01:49Brooke Averick?

  But not really, at all.

• 1:01:52Speaker 03

  No way.

• 1:01:52Brooke Averick?

I finished the final, like, I'm done writing it in terms of, like, I wrote the last chapter.

• 1:01:58Speaker 03

  Whoa.

• 1:01:59Brooke Averick?

I just have, now I have two weeks to, to edit it. And then, you know, August 15th, it will be out of my hands and I'll never touch it again.

• 1:02:07Speaker 03

  Whoa.

• 1:02:08Brooke Averick?

And then I, I foresee a depression that is unlike anything anyone's ever experienced. Thank God I have a new therapist. Like, in my back pocket.

• 1:02:19Speaker 03

I'm not in a place to give advice. I, I think you should plan something to look forward to.

• 1:02:24Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:25Speaker 03

For August. August 16th, I think you should plan a trip. That's like genuinely a week of, of like, like planned things. Not like, you know what I mean?

• 1:02:37Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:02:37Speaker 03

Go, go somewhere that you've wanted to go, see something, do something, say something.

• 1:02:43Brooke Averick?

I might go cruising at Venice Beach.

• 1:02:48Speaker 03

Keep yourself busy. There's, there's so many ways and so many places you could, you could cruise.

• 1:02:55Brooke Averick?

But like, I get depressed when I finish a book that I love. Like, when I finished Akashar, I was like miserable for a month.

• 1:03:02Speaker 03

  Yeah.

• 1:03:03Brooke Averick?

So like, I've spent over a year with this and like, this is my family and like.

• 1:03:09Speaker 03

  You gotta keep yourself busy.

• 1:03:10Brooke Averick?

The most important thing I've ever done, ever. And it's just like, I see you never again, ever. For as long as I live, I will never touch you again. All good.

• 1:03:19Speaker 03

Like, the way I can't relate to that is so insane because I'd be like, I'm done. I'm out of here. I'm clocking out. See ya.

• 1:03:24Brooke Averick?

No, I don't think you would.

• 1:03:25Speaker 03

  Really?

• 1:03:26Brooke Averick?

It's been a ye, like, a year with this. Inside of it.

• 1:03:32Speaker 03

I don't like working, so I really do think I'd be like, woo.

• 1:03:34Brooke Averick?

I'm, it's just like, I'm just like, really like something scary is gonna happen in, in my head, which I'm, I'm prepared for.

• 1:03:44Speaker 03

  A fan.

• 1:03:45Brooke Averick?

Of the opera is in your mind.

• 1:03:49Speaker 03

You know what's in my mind?

• 1:03:50Brooke Averick?

  Huh?

• 1:03:51Speaker 03

  Nothing.

• 1:03:53Brooke Averick?

Okay, well, I actually do have to pee like in such a scary way.

• 1:03:58Speaker 03

  Sicary?

• 1:03:58Brooke Averick?

A scary way, so I'll leave you to it.

• 1:04:02Speaker 03

All right, all right, all right, all right.

• 1:04:04Brooke Averick?

And I'll see you in the bonus.

• 1:04:06Speaker 03

  Wait, before we go.

• 1:04:07Brooke Averick?

  Yeah.

• 1:04:08Speaker 03

No, never mind. See you in the bonus. Thanks, guys.

• 1:04:18Speaker 00

Whenever fall comes back around, it always feels like a fresh start. This year, I've been layering in some styles from the new Lululemon fall drop, because the weather is shifting and I find I have to be ready for the entire day and not just one part of it. Lululemon's fall line has some really versatile transitional pieces, so I can just wake up, throw on a matching set, add a jacket or a fleece, and head out, knowing that I'll feel comfortable enough to go wherever the day takes me. Check out the new fall arrivals in store and online now at lululemon.com.
